(I’m about to get mushy, so beware) Picking a quote from this series for my graduation cap was a no-brainer for me. This series has had an insane impact on my life, to the point where I genuinely don’t know where I’d be without it. From first picking Carry On up the week I turned 15, to having to physically restrain myself from reading WS in one sitting because it was my first hard week of college as a freshman, to reading AWTWB in one sitting the day it released despite being on a family vacation. From starting a sideblog, to making art and fics about it with my sister, and to looking through art or fics when I was having a panic attack to help me calm down. To the amazing community I’ve found online with the most talented and kind people I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting. My life has been fundamentally changed for the better because I decided to pick up Carry On in January 2016, and I wouldn’t change it for the world.

Happy Wednesday! COBB is upon us and I'm super proud of our work; I'm also decompressing a little from such a big project. So I don't have any drawing to share, but I've made a lot of progress on my sweater. I really like that my Wednesday posts have turned into knitting updates!

The knitting gods have blessed (cursed?) me with the spirit of Just One More Row this week. I zoomed through the third and fourth buttonholes and finished the sweep trim! I've now set up my stitches to do an Italian Bind Off which is so finicky that I need to look it up every time I have to do it and it's gotta be done in one go or I'll forget what step I'm on. The result is a gorgeous bind off edge, but it takes forever. I need to pick up a shorter circular knitting needle to do the sleeves because the magic loop kills my flow. Also, enjoy a photobomb from my cat, Baz!

Hot take: I kinda hate every time in the carry on series when it’s like ‘baz was wearing this floral suit but he made it look manly’ or ‘baz smiled up at me in a way that would look girlish on anyone else but he didn’t look girlish he looked vulnerable’, you reallyyyy notice that the fact that a straight woman is writing. Let the man be girly! That’s not a bad thing! In fact— it’s an actively great thing!

I honestly think the only reason Baz’s chest hair is mentioned so much is because Rowell is so afraid of him being perceived as feminine.
