Let’s put some basic facts on the table. The fire department identified the car which started the blaze. There’s video of it. It was a diesel Range Rover, one of the Land Rover group of cars. While there is a diesel battery-electric hybrid option for some of the Range Rover groups, there’s zero evidence that it was a hybrid.
Is there any evidence about Land Rovers and fires? Why yes there is. The firm recalled 112,000 of them a few months ago because they had a bad problem with catching fire(..)

For reference, the new plug-in-hybrid Range Rover has a larger battery than it. That said, the Spring is of course incredibly cheap with prices starting at €10,920 ($11,974) after grants in Germany(..)
Unfortunately, while Dacia is keen to transition to electric it has no plans to launch in the US. A real shame��given the lack of budget-friendly options in the North American market(..).
P.S. It makes no sense to offer budget-friendly, reasonably-sized cars in the USA. In Game of Thrones, Khal Drogo's preferred means of transportation was horseback.
Jason Momoa's new ride is a 95-year-old Rolls-Royce Phantom – but one which has been modified to be powered electrically.
Actor Jason Momoa, a car lover and the villain in the most recent "Fast and Furious" movie, recently had his 1929 Rolls-Royce Phantom converted to run on batteries. He didn't do the modification work himself, though. Instead he turned to the U.K.'s Electrogenic, which prepared a bespoke solution for the Phantom. The company, based on Oxford, also offers so-called EV conversion drop-in kits that can be had for early Land Rovers, including the original Defender, plus the Jaguar E-Type, original Mini, and the 964-generation Porsche 911. For the Phantom, the original engine, a 7.7-liter inline-6 developing 40-50 hp, and the original 4-speed manual transmission, were replaced with an electric motor with a custom single-speed direct-drive transmission. The electric motor generates 201 hp and draws its energy from a 93-kwh battery positioned within the existing structure of the car. The range is around 150 miles, according to Electrogenic.
