a/n: oohh it was definitely hard to choose one but I decided to go with the golden mad lad for this one, hope you enjoy!

BTAS Mad Hatter Reacting to Reader Asking Him To Be Their Valentine Headcanons

- Oh, well, this is quite the surprise!

- Jervis was already knee-deep in his own grand gesture of asking you the same thing.

Scarecrow, Two Face, Penguin, Mad Hatter, and Mr. Freeze with a Partner who Sleeps With A Plush of Them

Inspired by the Scarecrow and Two Face plushies I sewed.

Scarecrow

You had spent days hand-sewing this plush doll of Jonathan Crane, and though it wasn't perfect, you had put a lot of love into it.

The doll appeared to stare up at you with its button eyes while you held its floppy, huggable body and stroked its soft hair. It was like an exact copy of Jonathan, just smaller. And probably less likely to commit crimes.

Jonathan would be incredibly surprised to see the plush- lots of times when people made artistic interpretations of him they were meant to be terrifying. He had never seen a version of himself this...cuddly. He doesn't mind it, though. In fact, he's quite flattered.

When you tell him about how you cuddle the plush at night he practically melts.

Two Face

You made most of the plush Two Face with soft minky fabric, but decided to add something extra- faux fur on the white side of his hair and dot textured minky for his scars. He was perfect.

The first time you showed it to Harvey, he was speechless. His fingers ran across the soft fabrics you had used to capture him so lovingly, and you might have even seen a tear roll down the unscarred side of his face. Two Face is the one to break the silence, saying "you really want to cuddle me that much?"

When you admit to them you cuddle the plush at night to feel close to them, they immediately wrap you in a massive hug. You hug them back of course, making sure to kiss their scars.

Penguin

Oswald had always been insecure about his appearance, and no matter how much you tried to encourage and support him with words, hugs, everything...it always seemed as if his trauma would make him feel unworthy of you. So you got an idea. You would show him exactly how you saw him, in the form of a cuddly plushie.

You had to modify your pattern quite a bit to make it accurate, but it was worth it. The plush Penguin sat before you with its arms outstretched, just waiting to be held.

You paid extra attention to translating the parts of himself Oswald was insecure about into the plush- intricately sewn hands, a prominent beak-like nose, his cuddly, plump body, and of course his long, soft hair.

You're a bit nervous to show the plush to him as you're not sure how he'll react, so you start kind of awkwardly.

"Uh...I...I really wanted to show you how wonderful you are in my eyes and I...I adore every single part of you, so I made this..."

Oswald doesn't know what to think at first, but he's incredibly touched. He still tries to play it cool, of course.

"I mean, you could always have a life-sized version of me if you want."

Catch him off guard by kissing his nose and wrapping him in a hug.

Mad Hatter

Okay, uh.. You didn't sew this one. You just kinda found a Disney Mad Hatter plushie on Ebay or something and thought it reminded you of Jervis.

(Fun fact, I actually do have this plush and he's very soft!)

Even if you didn't sew it, Jervis freaking loves it. You want to cuddle? With him??? So badly that you got a plushie to hold when he wasn't there to comfort you????

Mr. Freeze

This man is very insecure about how he's unable to cuddle you due to his physical state, so you get an idea.

The plush was honestly kind of hard to make, with all the intricate details of his suit, but it was absolutely worth it. You even added a voice box inside so you could hear his sweet German accent whenever you wanted.

Also you added a small tuft of fluffy fabric for his hair, (ik BTAS doesn't have that but HQTAS does and I freaking love it so it's going here!)

He absolutely cries when you show it to him.

You wrap your arms around him when he does, it stings a bit but it's worth it to see him smile.

For Christmas that year you make him a Nora plushie, with magnets in her hands so she can hold hands with your Mr. Freeze plush.

You better believe he cuddles his Nora plush every day. It's not even close to having his wife back of course, but it does relieve some of the pain to get to hold her again.

He met you, somehow, the details are irrelevant, but most likely through just interacting with his city, or perhaps he heard your name muttered through the city, no matter what, he's a little interested in how a kid like you gets through Gotham City with it's hustle, bustle and crime filled nature.

Naturally, at the start, he's not going to do much until Robin mentions a classmate of his with the same name as you and the same characteristics and... it's you. The same person he was curious about.

Well, why not do some research anyway?

He's certainly... intrigued with you. Far more than his normal obsessions would be, he's just... a little worried. (Far more than worried, really, it's bordering on insanity with how often he finds something and thinks of you - whether it be a crime he worries that you could have been the victim of, or simply a busy street that seems overstimulating to even him, the dark knight. He practically becomes a hypochondriac when he thinks of you, not worried about him, but worried about you.)

But when he finally does muster up enough reasons and courage to do it in his mind to actually kidnap take you home? He's far, far worse than he was then. It's already stressful enough for you to have been kidnapped by Bruce Wayne, the most successful man in Gotham, but his smothering borders on suffocating when you finally get used to living a new space, everything you've ever looked at or considered being spotted there in the mansion, but you're not allowed to leave, to see those you considered friends. Only Dick and Alfred and HIM as your only source of human contact.

Oh, and if anyone finds out that you, Bruce's newest and latest child is autistic, and decides to attempt to capitalize on that?

You are never seeing the outside again after that.

Jervis Tetch x Reader First Meeting headcanons

🎩 although it pains him to admit it, the years of unrequited love have taken their toll on Jervis. his Alice is long gone—departed from Gotham with her now-husband (filthy brute), with a new name and her hair dyed a mousey brown. as far as he can tell, she's dropped off the map entirely, and it's been nearly a year since he last caught any trace of her. months in yet another cold, lonely stint at Arkham leave his soul more empty than ever before...and he decides, one lovelorn night, that such suffering should not befall a gentleman. although the thought sickens him, Jervis resolves that when he gets out, he is going to make a fresh start...even just for a while.

🎩 when finally he next escapes (his technology being instrumental in a jailbreak largely orchestrated by the other rogues, of course—no need for him to do their dirty work), Jervis makes good on his promise and leaves Gotham for a few cities over. he travels in civilian clothes and fights the urge to wear any sort of hat, fearing that even a simple cap could betray his identity. yet the experiment is a success. within days he has sequestered himself in an unassuming little apartment, and even ventured out to speak with a neighbour or two, none of whom recognise him as The Mad Hatter. it's a queer feeling, not seeing fear reflected in the eyes of those around him...and it gives him a quiet thrill which makes him forget himself, leaving Jervis grinning far too wide.

🎩 still, Jervis is a man with certain compulsions. he's partial to an afternoon walk, and at 3 o'clock exactly makes his way out into his new city, looking for nothing in particular and simply enjoying air without walls. however, he soon comes across a quaint little teashop, its sign scrawled in a delightful Shakespearean font and the windows ringed with English ivy. "How serendipitous," Jervis murmurs to himself. "I shan't pass up an opportunity such as this...after all, you'd only have to whisper a hint to Time, and round goes the clock in a twinkling!"

🎩 Jervis orders his usual beverage without incident and takes a seat which gives him an excellent view of the whole teashop. his discerning blue eyes scan the room, but it isn't until he's cleared half the customers that he realises he was searching for a glimpse of Alice's golden hair. Jervis sighs, and takes a long, sad sip of his tea—only to splutter when he spots You in the corner of the room. You are tucked up with your legs crossed, your nose buried in a book. there's a little half-smile on your face, and Jervis watches with interest as you chuckle at something you read. he stares at You and the book, and an icy chill of recognition works its way down his spine.

🎩 before he can stop himself, Jervis abandons his tea and makes his way over to You. for a full minute he looms over You quite unnoticed, so absorbed You are by your book. after quietly clearing his throat does not catch your attention, Jervis opts to take the direct approach. "Excuse me, my dear." You look up, curious. Jervis smiles with all his teeth—too bright, too intense. "I do hope you'll forgive my impudence, interrupting you on a fine day such as this. But may I ask...what are you reading?"

You didn’t know your real name anymore, nor did you care. To you, he was the Mad Hatter, and you were his dear, sweet Alice.

The sterile white walls of Arkham Asylum were draped with faint attempts at holiday cheer. Tinsel dangled from ceiling corners, and a sad, half-decorated Christmas tree stood in the common room, its blinking lights flickering like a dying hope. The air was thick with the scent of pine-scented cleaner, the faint trace of institutional meals, and the muffled hum of distant murmurs from other inmates.

"Jervis," you said, your voice light and sing-song. "What are you working on this time?"

"Ah, dearest Alice!" he exclaimed, lifting his bright eyes to yours. "Why, a surprise for you! A little token of wonder for our Christmas tea party." He held up a paper rose, as delicately crafted as if it had grown from the pages of an old book.

You clapped your hands, your restraints clinking slightly against the chair. "It’s beautiful! Is it for the table?"

Jervis smiled, his heart twisting. He had hypnotized you so many times, your mind had bent and fractured until the delusion became your truth. Yet, in the rare moments when you looked at him with pure adoration, he could almost forget his guilt.

"It shall be the centerpiece, my dear, to crown our feast." He leaned closer, lowering his voice conspiratorially. "I've procured quite the spread. Crumpets! Biscuits! A peppermint or two."

Your face lit up with childish delight. "Oh, Jervis, you’ve outdone yourself!"

The pair of you had pieced together scraps from the staff's forgotten holiday treats. A purloined cookie here, a stolen sugar cube there, all hidden away until today.

The clock struck seven, a meaningless hour in a place like Arkham, but to you and Jervis, it marked the beginning of the celebration.

He had arranged your modest feast on a small, rickety table in your shared corner of the rec room. Crumbs of stolen gingerbread mingled with the carefully folded paper decorations he’d made—a garland of tiny hats, a little snowman made from tissue.

The other inmates paid little attention; most were too lost in their own minds or subdued by medication. But to you, the scene was magical.

"Happy Christmas, my dear Alice," Jervis said, bowing low.

"And a very merry unbirthday to you, Mad Hatter," you replied, curtsying with a flourish of your gown—not a gown at all, but the plain white uniform issued by Arkham. Still, in your mind, you were resplendent in satin and lace.

Jervis chuckled. "Come now, sit! Let us not waste a moment."

You took your place, and Jervis poured imaginary tea into mismatched paper cups. The two of you fell into easy conversation—nonsense rhymes and riddles, tales of Wonderland, and whispered dreams of escape.

"Do you think Wonderland celebrates Christmas?" you asked, nibbling on a crumb of gingerbread.

"Why, of course," Jervis replied, his voice soft with affection. "The Queen of Hearts herself would host a grand ball, with the Tweedles trimming the tree and the Cheshire Cat weaving tinsel from moonbeams."

You laughed, the sound bright and sweet, and Jervis felt his chest tighten. For all his madness, for all the wrong he had done, he knew this moment was pure.

"Jervis," you said suddenly, your tone serious. "Do you think they’ll let us stay together forever?"

His smile faltered. "Oh, my sweet Alice, I would move mountains and rewrite the stars to ensure it. No one shall part us, not here, not ever."

You reached across the table, your fingers brushing his. "I know they won’t. We’ll always have Wonderland."

The distant clang of a guard’s baton against metal broke the spell, but neither of you moved. The world outside the asylum’s walls didn’t matter—not when Wonderland was alive in your hearts.

Later, as the lights dimmed and the other inmates shuffled back to their cells, Jervis escorted you to yours.

"Goodnight, my Alice," he said, adjusting the paper snowflake he’d tucked into your hair earlier.

"Goodnight, Mad Hatter," you replied, smiling sleepily.

As he watched you drift into dreams of tea parties and talking flowers, Jervis whispered to himself:

"Merry Christmas to all, and to all a mad delight."

🎩 Jervis is so happy that you’re so accommodating! He feared that he’d have to use his cards on you to make you bend to his will - something je never intended to do, but Jervis is willing to take the bad with the good. Luckily for him, you were more than willing to go with him quietly, and that’s when he KNEW the two of you were meant to be!

☕ Jervis is, admittedly, a bit possessive, so don’t expect to be seeing sunlight or stepping outside his hideout for a while! He doesn’t want anyone else to look at you - they’re simply not worthy enough to gaze upon your magnificence! The only ones besides himself that Jervis allows to see you is his, admittedly few in number, allies. I hope you enjoy tea parties with Professor Crane!

🎩 Speaking of tea parties, Jervis loves to throw them, especially while all gussied up! And don’t fret, Jervis won’t force you to dress up as Alice if it makes you uncomfortable! You’re his beloved, and he’d never want to hurt you or make you uncomfortable. And if you don’t enjoy hot tea, Jervis will (begrudgingly) allow sweet tea or some other alternative. What can he say? He’s an Englishman! Sweet tea isn’t really his cup of his tea (pun very much intended.)

☕ Jervis gets so overwhelmed at times and will have panic attacks, and you holding him and calming him down makes him feel so much better. It feels so nice to be held in your arms, you playing with his hair, telling him that you love him… Jervis can’t thank you enough, clutching to you like his life depends on it, repeating that he loves you over and over again.

🎩 Jervis loves cuddling up to you, just to read or watch something on the telly. He’ll even read to you, if you’d like! Though, he’d secretly much prefer you reading to him! Your voice is just oh so calming! And it makes him feel so safe, like he could just fall asleep to the sound of your voice as he drifts off into wonderland. Also! Jervis is the type to talk and make commentary during movies, or drift off into thought and unintentionally hum or talk - he doesn’t mean to, and will stop, if you’d like!.. But, he is. so grateful to be with someone as kind and understanding as you.

☕ Jervis is all about affection, though he can get overwhelmed easily. He’s mostly used to hand holding and hugging, but will blush bright red at anything further!… Not that he’s complaining. He’s very touch-starved and will take anything you want to give. He’s also all about nicknames. Expect him to have an endless list of petnames at the ready! (Darling, Dearest, Dearly Beloved, Honey Bunny, Sweetheart, Dear, etc.)

Jervis can't recall the last time he slept like this.

Not tossing and turning, drinking tea with various herbs and supplements supposedly to help the wandering anxious mind succumb to slumber…

It was a blissful, dreamless sleep encouraged by a loving and inviting warmth that only you can provide.

Jervis was absolutely content to just sleep away forever-

But he felt something moving beside him.

Something soft pecked his skin from his forehead to his cheek to the tip of his nose.

Jervis scrunched up his nose slightly as he slowly began to wake up and face the source of this onslaught.

When his blue eyes came into focus, he found the culprit to be none other than you.

If Jervis didn't have to go through the effort of opening his eyes and clearing his vision…he would have sworn he was still dreaming…

“Good morning, my dear…” He greeted you, slightly slurred with sleep.

“Good morning, Jervis…”

You leaned in and gave him another kiss on the cheek.

“My, with what do I owe this adoring wake up call?”

You giggled. “Love…well, my love for you more specifically.”

Jervis hummed blissfully as he wrapped an arm around your back and pulled you closer to him.

“I think I could very well get used to this…”

“I hope so, I have no complaints about making this a habit.”

To prove your point, you turned your body over to where you hovered over his body, your hands laid flat on both sides of him to keep you propped up as you leaned down to begin another barrage of kisses on his person.

Jervis may have underestimated his statement earlier. He couldn't just get used to this…he very well could become utterly addicted.

His heart began thumping against his chest as your lips began venturing down past his face and more towards his neck and collarbone.

“Let me know if it gets too much…” you murmured softly, but Jervis managed to hear through his thundering heartbeat.

Jervis nodded, but the last thing on his mind was ever telling you to stop or to discourage you from being affectionate to him in any way.

Which is how he ended up in bed with you in the first place.

Your welcoming warm touches, sweet passionate kisses–to have you so close to him as close as humanely possible…

He would have to be the most foolish man alive to ever turn you away.

Jervis has been desiring a relationship like this for most of his life, and just when he was about to give up, you showed up and proved him wrong…

Jervis always did compare you to some ethereal being, but right now in that moment he was definitely convinced you had to be of some divine being.
