Up there with Aerial in terms of building enjoyment, and it's surprisingly easy to pose. I am a sucker for stickers, and that back-laser-beam-thing has so many and it has was so, so much fun to assemble. The connections themselves aren't as sturdy as I expected from such a bulky build but it's perfectly passable and given how cool it looks and was to build, I don't really mind the occasional flimsiness.

The complete (for now) gang marching on. (don't mind the Goktilus ✌)

ok this is such a long explanation but:

This takes place after Amethio ends up joining the RVT and leaving Mari to fill in for him as an Admin. Mari becomes so mentally unstable they need an AI of some sort to help them pilot their body. During one of their battles with the RVT, Mari's robot thing gets impaled (YET AGAIN! BROSKI CANNOT ESCAPE THE IMPALEMENT DEATH!!!) while Mari is INSIDE the robot, asleep! :3

Originally, I was gonna have Amethio's Ceruledge do the impaling but it would be angstier if it was one of Aqua's Pokemon.

AND BONUS: NIGHTGLOW IS PLAYING IN THE BACKGROUND WHILE MARI GETS IMPALED :3

I said I was gonna talk more about MM on this blog again and I will probably eventually do analysis stuff I just need to prep this shit cause those post take time for the ones that are more coherent and not just my usual word vomits, BUT I do need to word vomit for a second about one thing that plagued my mind again today.

One of my biggest peeves with the series lore is how reploids and humans hardly have interactions, more so in the X series as Zero makes a bit more effort in this regard, given it’s a huge deal how reploids are seen lower then humans for the longest time- but what has dawned on me more of another factor that really sucks about this is how reploid society itself is ALSO unexplored.

We hardly have any idea of what makes them different from humans, we can only grasp basic details from what the games provide us but it’s unclear if there society is either “very much identical to humans but still has changes to make it different given their machines” or “completely different down to how they live and are treated”. I can’t speak for every robot media ever as I haven’t consumed them all-that’s a impossible task as some are bound to not interest me lol-but I feel like ones that are primarily having sentient robots and multiple of them rather then stuff like mechas where they don’t have much of a personality (usually) or the cases like Aigis in P3 where she is a robot in a mostly human society and therefore learns to become more human, they usually try to give the robots some kind of established society but MM only gives us breadcrumbs.

Like I know transformers is a bigger series so it got more chances to be incredibly fleshed out but I think about how my friends had told me about it and it’s society from just the comics is incredibly detailed that you even know they have religions n shit. And I’m not saying MM has to go to that extent even if it’s had metaphors of that in the later series, but more context to what reploid society has and doesn’t would be nice.

If they actually do need to eat and we aren’t supposed to guess that the energy tanks n stuff are there equivalent, if they ever got to have hobbies or jobs besides serving under humans especially when they have free will, etc. More of how they operate would be really nice to know but alas much like many things in this series lore it’s never going to be deeply elaborated on so I have to throw darts at a board.

Okay on the topic of crack treated seriously crossover isekai with mdzs, I've been batting about the daycare attendant from fnaf getting reborn into... Someone.

My first thought was obviously wwx, cuz main character, excellent wild card. I considered lxc, all smiley with a heavy heart and too much responsibility trying to care for everyone even as it ruins him. I considered NHS or jgy for that manic rodent customer service energy, I considered xy for his demonic cultivation and intensity, even jyl if you really wanted to lean into the crack energy, and also Moon snapping would be Excellent crouching tiger energy.

I also considered jc.

The thing about the robot DA, if you don't know,

Half is Sun, a frustrated, overworked, sarcastic mf dealing with his alter ai going insane and trying to kill/kidnap the kids they protect. He's anxiety riddled, pithy to adults, a bit of a control freak trying to scrabble together a semblance of balance in a steadily collapsing situation while trying to maintain himself while being terminally neglected. His sanity is hanging by a thread.

Its alternate, Moon, appears whenever it's naptime - ie, when the lights go out. Moon is an uncanny security guard of the pizza plex (imagine a giant themed mall slash party venue that fails basically every osha compliance) that acrobatically hunts down anything that moves when the other animatronics (basically tortured androids let's be real) are in recharge. Moon is corrupted by a semi computer semi haunted magic virus that makes him evil. Sun is left the responsibility of keeping it locked up in his head by never, ever, resting, or by being in the dark.

By the end of the games, sun and moon, the DA, is a shell of his former self. Despite being a multi million investment as a highly marketed, one of a kind animatronic with a worryingly lifelike ai (or two), the DA is abandoned by its creators and left to rot in the slowly crumbling ruins of the daycare, along with the half destroyed and monstrous forms of its fellow animatronics who aimlessly, sightlessly roam the halls. Sun is huddled in the last beam of light from a jacked generator, and when that finally dies moon is reduced to little more than a manmade beast in the dark as they too slowly run out of power, their powerful battery long stolen and grafted into someone else. Their kingdom boarded up and half destroyed, their own private apocalypse they cannot escape, the DA begs the next person he sees for a total reboot. The combined personality, eclipse, is a gentle and naive thing unable to perceive the reality of its situation. Until it runs out of power, it will be placid and calm, lost in its illusion of the past. It is, essentially, requested euthanasia. It's the kindest send off anything else in the pizza plex gets.

So, a snarky, bitchy guy with huge abandonment issues sick of trying to corral unruly kids without reward, constantly overlooked and frankly neglected in favour of the more successful and popular siblings, with deep rooted trauma about losing his core, too much responsibility and no support, desperately trying to keep himself from lashing out and causing irreparable damage and kinda failing? Who just wants to play stupid games and stop having to shoulder everything himself? Fiercely protective of children but also not immune to pettiness?

Yeah, at that point it's not even a question. Let's give jc an identity disorder and a crippling fear of water.

i also love pacific rim!!! i watched it for the first time some time last year in prep for the del toro pinocchio movie (the only movies of his i haven’t seen are the two hellboy movies he directed and obviously the At the Mountains of Madness adaptation he was going to make with tom cruise and james cameron that is still haunting my daydreams.)

anyway—top gun is one of those movie franchises that doesn’t really leave room for alternate universe style fics imo because of how much sandbox space there is between both movies, but pacific rim also feels HANDMADE for top gun. if i had a nickel for every movie about a military maverick pilot who goes against the grain of his superiors and loses someone he has an emotional connection to in an accident inside the giant metal object they fight inside of, only to come back and defeat his mental barriers and discover a new emotional connection to a fellow pilot/ranger in the process, i’d have two nickels. you could replace all the planes in top gun with jaegers and the plot wouldn’t even change. “being a wingman is literally being drift compatible 🤓” - literally me five minutes into PR for the first time.

but this fic is probably my least finished one oop. i’ve been stabbing at it for a good month and don’t have a set plot (or pov), but the brunt of it is: maverick and goose get put in the jaeger program. goose dies (aw man) while fighting. maverick goes to the shatterdome (omg TOP GUN) and is enrolled back into the jaeger program in an attempt to find another pilot. since there’s a stupid wall being built and the program is losing funds, the US sends all their eligible jaegers to Hong Kong: maverick, a few other guys that might be his match (background 86ers) and the west coast jaeger team they already have (iceman and slider.) that’s about all i have so far for outline, since I don’t really know how to fold in a secondary plot or deal with the switch from iceman-and-slider to iceman and maverick discovering their drift comparability, but this fic is also just a silly time and a way for me to get some creative juices flowing. i don’t even know what time period it will be in (80s??? 2020s?? we’ll see)

left is just some notes on how i want to tackle mav, and right is my attempt at naming the jaegers and kaijus. i just keep shoving adjectives together until something sounds right.

Sci-fi au…….pilot Nick who dies on what is essentially a suicide mission after his family dies and ship AI Lucifer who gets permission to use his face & voice instead of the standard robo one as the ship slowly runs out of oxygen because she wants to keep him humans respond better to things that appear similar to them.
