thoughts on the Ark season 1, there will be spoilers, it will be long

I’m gonna start by saying I like it. It’s a bit campy, the science is not all there, there’s some stuff that bugs me, but overall, I like the show, I’m gonna watch season 2.

I do hope they get a writer with a basic understanding of science for season 2 though, because even if the sci fi rule is “it only needs to sound legit” I don’t feel like this passed the bar? I’m sorry, treating an FTL drive like a USB you can just plug and play from ship to ship is just... not it. And they did have the temporal problems but even the solution for that was not great, in my opinion. I need the crew to be more competent too, there’s just too many instances where it feels like they got screwed because they didn’t bother to test something before trying to use it in the field. For instance, the FTL bubble shield. They literally pulled a mutiny on the basis that the shield was going to protect them, and they didn’t even turn it on once before they needed to use it? Like you’d test a used car more than that before you’d buy it, and yet we have a ship full of supposed experts who didn’t think to test it ONCE before counting on it to save their lives.

The biggest thing I want, though, is for them to make the villains LESS INSANELY EVIL for no actual reason. Seriously, the human race is dying out and instead of just threatening the other Arks (which are carrying some of humanity’s best and brightest) to get into line and follow her lead, Maddox just destroys two thirds of humanity on the off-chance she might kill Trust along with them? I need a real explanation for why they hate one another so much, because two people who are supposed to be the smartest humans in existence should be able to get past it in order to save humanity. I know the point is like “people like them are the reason we were wiped out” and they want Garnet and the others to show there’s a better way, but I just need their evil to make some small amount of sense.

As for ships... I’m all in for the slow-burn, enemies to lovers with Garnet & Lane. They have chemistry, the actors are both great, I really like that Garnet has a second in command who doesn’t just agree with her or trust her blindly, I love the mutual respect they seem to have established. Looking forward to seeing some consequences of a Captain/Subordinate relationship, really hoping they don’t do a Janeway and make it so Garnet can’t have a relationship with anyone now that she’s the Captain.

I really like Brice & Ava as individual characters, and I do ship it, but I wish it had gone a bit more slowly? All for them jumping into bed right away, it’s in character for Brice and I feel like Ava needed it too, but they went straight in for a committed relationship a lot faster than I would’ve liked. Ava’s boyfriend literally just died what, a few months ago? So while I could see her jumping into bed with Brice, her admitting that she’s fallen for Brice so quickly really struck me as forced. Coupled with the fact that she really betrayed Brice in a very bad way --like, she didn’t JUST drug him, she had sex with him THEN drugged him-- I don’t think he should’ve forgiven her so easily? It really strikes me as a violation of trust, if nothing else, and I wanted them to hash it out more, build the trust back before they admitted their feelings. But seeing the ending, I get that they wanted to finish the season with a very much in-love couple so they could tease Ava’s death as a high stakes cliffhanger, but I feel like this diminished the whole ship. That said, they totally give me B’Ellana & Tom vibes (sorry for all the Voyager references, if you haven’t watched it, you SHOULD) and I love them for that, so I really hope that Ava isn’t dead and that in Season 2 we’ll get to see the consequences of them getting together so quickly, maybe have some trust issues from Brice come up, basically, I want some more angst over here.

Alicia and Angus really don’t do a thing for me. It might just be that they seem so young, or that the idea that the nerds have to fall in love is boring to me, but I don’t see the chemistry. I do like the character development we’ve seen so far; Alicia coming from someone who was smart, but obedient, to someone who will disobey orders she doesn’t believe in and can think outside the box to save the day, I hope to see her become a really strong character. As for Angus, I’m glad at the end that they seemed to hint that he has some lasting trauma from his experience with Kelly; if they just write off his being kidnapped and sexually harassed by her I’ll be pretty disappointed. I’m not mad they didn’t get into it more, there wasn’t time for them to do it justice and I really want this to be well-handled, but we need to see Angus getting to process what happened to him.

I love Felix, but honestly, I cannot understand why they gave a white man a samurai sword. Swords in space are cool, but if you want a samurai in space, they should be Japanese. Like this isn’t hard guys, basic diversity 101. That said, I love that Felix is a gay man who isn’t effete or any other stereotypes, I love that he’s the character that has a child he’s been separated from and feels guilt for it, although it does bother me how abruptly they killed off Robert. I’m really hopeful that they have something more interesting in mind with Katherine, since we don’t know what happened to her yet. I’m hoping they do something with time travel here, because I don’t really want them to bring an eight year old onto the ship, but I definitely want more family-angst for Felix.

Kabir is a fantastic character, in my opinion. I love her relationships with literally everybody, how Felix helped her with her addiction --and how the addiction is being shown as an ongoing thing, not just a one and done issue-- and Cat betrayed her trust later on. I like that she’s a mentor-figure for Alicia, and just a confidante for everyone. She’s the character that’s everybody’s best friend, and honestly I can’t even hate her for it. It would be so easy to have had her be the perfect maternal role, but they threw in the addiction and it really fleshed her out, in my opinion.

I really hope they stay completely away from anything further with Cat & Trust, to be honest. I like Cat, I find her really interesting and compelling and I love that she lets people think she’s just a vapid celebrity when in actuality she has depths that she hides under that blonde wig. I don’t like Trust, but I realize we’re not supposed to like him. I do want them to get more into what exactly the “Juno Project” is all about, it honestly sounds pretty eugenics-y so I’m hoping they’re real careful with this.

Honestly, the show’s got a lot of potential from here. The characters all have room for growth, the ships have room to go places, they set up some hooks for future plots and I’m very hopeful. It really reminds me a lot of other sci fi shows, like Star Trek: Voyager (as evidenced by my references) but also Stargate: Universe and I just love the vibe of it. This got real long, I won’t blame anyone if they don’t want to read all my thoughts, but I don’t have anyone to talk to about this show so I just wanted to get them all out while they were fresh. I’m really looking forward to season 2, and so grateful they already announced it’s renewed.

OUAT Rewatch: Season 1

I started writing down my thoughts as I watched each episode, and got kind of carried away with it as I went along! So here are my thoughts on most of the episodes of Season 1 of Once Upon a Time.

(Spoilers for future seasons are noted in parentheses.)

Episode 2 “The Thing You Love Most”

~ Emma and Regina both have a death/rebirth moment involving fire. The first leads into the second: Emma burns the pages about her birth, and Regina burns her father’s heart.

~ The fact that Regina was willing to sacrifice her father, and that he is Henry's namesake, impresses upon the audience the possibility that the young Henry could also become collateral damage in Regina's effort to destroy everyone’s happiness.

Episode 4 “The Price of Gold”

~ I had forgotten about Henry’s Cinderella moment, losing his shoe as he goes up the stairs!

Episode 5 “That Still Small Voice”

~ The fact that Geppetto’s parents turned into puppets raises a lot of questions about both character and worldbuilding. Why did Geppetto decide to make Pinocchio? Why was the Blue Fairy able to bring Pinocchio to life, but not Geppetto’s parents?

Episode 6 “The Shepherd”

~ “Remember what happened to Frederick” sounds like a throwaway line, like an allusion to a tragicomic incident in Midas’ past, but it’s actually setup for a later episode in this season!

~ David is like his namesake in the Bible, as he starts out as a shepherd but then becomes a king.

Episode 7 “The Heart is a Lonely Hunter”

~ What Regina did to the Huntsman—basically making him her sex slave—is really horrendous, and seems to be unknown to everyone else. The series moves along in such a way that it seems the audience is meant to forget about him.

~ (Spoiler:) What happened to the Huntsman when Snow and Charming took back the kingdom from Regina? Did he remain in her thrall to the very end? Could they not have rescued him at some point?

~ Emma makes a good point about how Regina drives away the people she claims to love. She reminds me a little of Orual, the queen and stepsister in Till We Have Faces.

~ Graham’s fate shows that when Regina cannot control something, she will try to destroy it.

Episode 8 “Desperate Souls”

~ Mr. Gold says, “I do hope they won’t break my little bell.” Was this foreshadowing Belle?!

Episode 9 “True North”

~ In Storybrooke, Ava and Nicholas are repeatedly shown eating candy or dessert!

~ I don’t like Emma’s harsh characterization of the foster system, like all foster families are in it only for the money. There are good, decent foster parents out there. Every foster kid’s experience is different, and Emma’s was pretty unusual in that she had no parents but was never permanently adopted.

~ I think this is the first time we see Regina trying to take someone else’s children to keep as her own. It’s interesting in that it shows how long she has wanted a family, and how long she sought it in the wrong ways.

Episode 10 “7:15 A.M.”

~ I love Snow and Grumpy’s relationship! They’re kind of polar opposites, unflagging optimism versus jaded pessimism. But they have some qualities in common, like loyalty and determination.

~ I wish we got to see more of the dwarves’ dynamics. Stealthy deserved better! And he speaks so casually about Doc making knockout gas!

~ It’s kind of beautiful that on the night their brother dies, the dwarves take in Snow, who has pretty much lost everything.

Episode 11 “Fruit of the Poisonous Tree”

~ (Spoiler:) Henry was recording the stories long before he became the Author! Kind of fitting that his scene (not) talking about it is with August, who eventually reveals the role of the Author.

Episode 12 “Skin Deep”

~ Belle’s very first line on the show is an expression of hope in Rumplestiltskin.

~ The princesses/heroines going on a girls’ night is a cool idea!

~ It is rather remarkable that Rumplestiltskin lets Belle leave for that errand. It’s like that saying, “If you love something, set it free, and if it loves you, it will come back.” Either he trusts that she’ll keep her word, or he hopes she cares enough about him to come back. But if she had taken that opportunity to leave, would he have punished her or her town?

~ Rumple’s tantrum is on a level with Kylo Ren, destroying everything in a given room.

~ Rumple is shown smashing most of the tea service, then sparing the chipped cup. But then, the chipped cup and a teapot are shown in Belle’s cell. Did he bring her food, or magically transport it there, before releasing her?

~ The sorcerer’s apprentice’s hat is visible in Rumple’s home!

~ The moment when Rumple puts the cup on a pedestal and cries over it—somehow that, to me, is the most Beauty and the Beast moment. It’s the part of the story expressed in “If I Can’t Love Her Reprise” in the stage show and “Evermore” in the 2017 movie. He believes he has lost her forever, and he is haunted by her memory, which he nevertheless still treasures.

~ It seems that Regina manipulated both Belle in the past and Mo in the present, in order to get Rumple/Gold to turn on them.

Episode 13 “What Happened to Frederick”

~ Granny saying “If you won’t, I will” regarding August reminds me of the grandma in Mulan seeing Shang for the first time.

~ The idea that “something lost will be returned to you” through water sounds like the song “All is Found” from Frozen II.

~ I wondered why the camera paused for so long on that guy Kathryn bumped into at the school; turns out it was Frederick!

~ The red spray paint in Regina’s desk draw suggests she, or someone working for her, was the one who spray-painted “tramp” on Mary Margaret’s car!

Episode 14 “Dreamy”

~ After seeing Snow and Grumpy’s first meeting earlier in the season, it’s great to finally see their Storybrooke counterparts interact! They really are an odd, unlikely pair, but that’s what makes their friendship so endearing.

~ I also love Belle and Grumpy’s friendship, which we see begin in this episode.

~ Interesting that when Belle gets her freedom, she does not return to her village. It must be the first time she is truly free, without any responsibility, so she makes it last a while!

~ Dreamy/Grumpy’s storyline in this episode seems to go against the backstory he shared with Snow. Did he later regret his actions and try to win Nova back?

~ I hated what Granny did and said to Mary Margaret in the previous episode, but I love that they have a nonverbal reconciliation in this one, with Granny lighting her candle.

Episode 15 “Red-Handed”

~ I love the visuals of this episode, with Red’s cloak contrasted against Snow’s white ensemble. The shots of Red and Snow tracking through the snowfall are beautiful—that had to be real snow, right?

~ After meeting and staying with Red, Snow adopts her hairstyle with a ribbon in a braid.

~ David and Red experience the same thing in their respective timelines, having gaps in their memory and wondering if they are the culprit of a crime.

~ It seems a little odd that Red doesn’t suspect Snow, a stranger who showed up the night of the attack, of being the wolf.

~ I think Red should have been the one to have the idea to talk to Peter, rather than Snow suggesting it.

~ So many characters in this season say “I hope you find what you’re looking for.”

Episode 16 “Heart of Darkness”

~ I wish we saw more of Snow White’s time living with the dwarves. Then again, I wish it had been during a happier period of her life, when she was not suffering from a broken heart or memory loss.

~ Henry deals with an emotional blow the same way his mothers and other characters do: getting a drink at Granny’s bar!

~ “Evil doesn’t always look evil. Sometimes it’s staring right at us, and we don’t even realize it.” So true!

~ Snow’s reconciliation with the dwarves is so sweet, and I love seeing them line up to help her!

~ Cutting from Gold telling Emma “You’re more powerful than you know” to Rumple bottling her parents’ hairs to make the magic of love + the high-pitched version of Snow and Charming’s theme = brilliant!

Episode 17 “Hat Trick”

~ This is the episode that feels most contrived in this season. Mary Margaret breaking out right after Emma asked her to have faith in her, and Emma being so kind and trusting toward Jefferson, both seem out of character. A core part of Emma’s personality—one that she works to overcome throughout the series—is that she protects herself and does not trust people easily. She is not the type to go into a strange man’s home and drink something he prepared. The whole detour is even more odd because she’s supposed to be searching for her missing friend.

~ “I’d rather lose my job than my friend.” Yeah Emma! Granted, she hasn’t had many friends in her life, so it makes sense that she would be protective of Mary Margaret, the only friend that hasn’t let her down in some way.

~ Jefferson promising not to miss Grace’s tea party is like Captain America promising Peggy Carter a dance. (It’s hard not to think about the Marvel films Sebastian Stan has been in while watching him in this show.)

~ Jefferson’s hat seems like a cross between a Portkey in the Harry Potter books, and the Wood Between the Worlds in The Magician’s Nephew. I wonder if that room is based on the one Alice comes to after going down the rabbit hole, where she has to open a door. The door to Oz can also be seen there, foreshadowing its introduction to the show!

~ Jefferson mentions Regina’s father even before he is revealed in the episode! Nice, subtle setup.

~ I wonder if the character of Jefferson is modeled after Sweeney Todd. A hatter and a barber both deal with people’s heads, and the way Jefferson sharpens his scissors made me think of Todd’s razors. Both men also have a daughter whom they were unjustly separated from due to a tyrant.

~ Jefferson raises some big philosophical questions about the nature of story and inspiration. Unfortunately this show tends to either leave those questions unanswered, or does a poor job of trying to answer them.

~ (Spoiler:) All the setup is there foreshadowing that Cora is the Queen of Hearts. But who is the King of Hearts? How did he end up with her, and what was their relationship like?

~ If Jefferson was stuck in Wonderland, how did he end up in Storybrooke? Didn’t the curse only touch the Enchanted Forest?

~ Emma is an amazingly convincing actress and liar. She comes across as so sympathetic, even when terrified, and she might be mixing truths into her acting.

~ Emma actually starts believing at the end! (Spoiler: Maybe her belief would have grown if August didn’t make it so personal.)

Episode 1x18 “The Stable Boy”

~ (Spoiler:) Cora wears a heart-shaped pendant, even before she becomes the Queen of Hearts—and ironically, when her own heart is no longer inside her.

~ Bailee Madison does a fantastic job of imitating Ginnifer Goodwin’s mannerisms. She adds even more childlike innocence and naivete to Snow’s idealism.

~ The scene of Cora and young Snow is hard to watch, knowing what Cora has already done and what Snow will do. And it’s no wonder Snow caved in: she’s never seen duplicity in anyone, especially not a mother.

~ So much foreshadowing when Cora talks about the sacrifices she had to make.

~ It’s fitting that Ruby is the one to find Kathryn, after being the one to find the box with the heart; but there could have been another scene, or even just a shot, to show how Ruby has been doing since then. She was pretty torn up about it, and she must be relieved to be able to set things right.

Episode 1x19 “The Return”

~ I had forgotten that Emma suspects Gold of kidnapping Kathryn. I’m glad this was addressed, because it seems to be forgotten as other storylines push forward.

~ I kind of wish that at some point, they showed Rumple stopping the battle in the Ogre Wars, rather than the characters just describing it. It must have been an incredible moment for him, as someone who had always been afraid (spoiler alert: and was too scared to go to battle when he was enlisted).

~ The misdirection in this episode is kind of brilliant. August goes to the Mother Superior to ask for advice about his father, and Rumple thinks it’s Baelfire going to the Blue Fairy as he did in the past, but it’s really Pinocchio going to the Blue Fairy to seek advice about approaching Geppetto/Marco. And then, to top it off, Rumple goes to Jiminy Cricket for advice!

~ What Regina did, causing David to doubt/betray Mary Margaret, and what Mary Margaret describes, poisoning their relationship, is exactly what Satan does.

~ Mary Margaret’s words about the one person you counted on not being there for you is similar to what happens between Rumple and Baelfire in this episode.

~ (Spoiler:) I’m confused about how common magic beans are in the Enchanted Forest. The Blue Fairy says the one she gives Baelfire is the last known to them, and apparently they’re so rare that he needs to construct the Dark Curse to cross worlds. But just a few years later, Hook gets his hands on one; and centuries later, James and Jack talk about them as though they are rare and valuable but not unheard of.

~ For August to deceive Gold by impersonating his long-lost son is pretty cruel.

~ (Spoiler:) August’s actions also don’t quite fit, because it is later revealed that he actually met Neal on at least two separate occasions, one of them while en route to Storybrooke just after Emma arrived.

~ “He hasn’t been himself for a while.” True in more than one sense for Sidney/Mirror/Genie!

~ Love Emma at the end: she is FIERCELY protective of the people she loves!

Episode 1x20 “The Stranger”

~ Love Henry’s defiant confrontation of Regina!

~ The Blue Fairy says the enchanted tree is the last in the entire realm. I wonder, were there once many more, and was that why the land was called the Enchanted Forest?

~ Does the wardrobe just act as a portal? If so, why wasn’t that an option for Rumplestiltskin? Did his magic not mix well with that kind?

~ I don’t understand why Regina tries to seduce David, considering he’s not even on good terms with Mary Margaret at that point. But David handles it like Gawain in “The Green Knight,” chivalrously refusing the temptress’ advances.

~ The shot of Regina downing the rest of her wine, then throwing the glass and breaking the mirror is pretty great!

~ It’s not very surprising that Pinocchio/August strayed from the right path, since Geppetto set an example of dishonesty and selfishness.

~ I forgot what a strong and emotional reaction Emma has to August’s revelation. From the way she talks, it sounds like on some level she does believe, but she doesn’t want to admit it because she’s so afraid of the responsibility it would put on her. I wonder if she also fears what it would mean for her relationships with her friends/family, since she has such mixed feelings about her parents.

~ How did Emma get home, if she left August behind in the woods? Did they both go back on his motorcycle? Or did she hitchhike or something?

~ It looks like Marco owns a sailboat, even after what happened with Monstro!

~ Emma and Geppetto both try to put their children’s wellbeing before that of the community.

~ Looking at Emma’s overall journey, her “refusal of the call” story beat really lasts this entire season!

Episode 1x21 “An Apple Red as Blood”

~ I’m very curious as to when Regina figured out that Emma was the Savior, the daughter of Snow White and Prince Charming. She seemed to have her first inkling in Episode 2, but when did she become certain?

~ (Spoiler:) It’s interesting that killing Emma would break the curse. Was that foreshadowing the Final Battle of Season 6?

~ Henry’s desperate act at the end of the episode makes sense after his final conversation with August, who seems to already be at the “all is lost” beat of the story before the hero decides to keep fighting.

~ “You may have wakened the sleeping dragon.” Was that setup for next episode?

~ Subtle foreshadowing from Archie: it’s true that Regina wouldn’t directly, intentionally hurt Henry, but it’s quite possible for him to get hurt by her efforts to hurt others.

~ “Is this how it’s always gonna be? Us taking turns finding each other?” “We will be together.” Both were right!

~ If Regina didn’t think of getting the apple until Jefferson suggested reaching through with her hand, what was she planning to do or get from the other world? And apparently the hat also enables time travel to a degree?

~ “Haven’t we both suffered enough?” True in more than one way: they both had more suffering in store, thanks to Regina’s vengeance.

~ (Spoiler:) Snow and Charming seem to be “one heart” even before they share a heart, as they sense when the other is hurt.

~ Did Regina not know or care what happened to the rest of the cursed apple after Snow bit it? And she just left Snow's body there for anyone to find?

~ Interesting to see Emma wearing a skirt and Regina wearing pants when they talk. It’s almost a reversal of their usual attire.

~ There is no way would Emma eat anything Regina made, especially now, knowing that she tried to frame Mary Margaret.

~ Henry falls exactly the same way his grandmother Snow does after eating the apple!

Episode 1x22 “A Land Without Magic”

~ I love that they brought Graham back for the finale, and he’s still protecting Snow! I guess even though Regina his heart, he still has some autonomy.

~ That might be the longest and most ominous title sequence yet!

~ Does picking up the book make Emma actually see, or remember, the flashbacks to her birth? Is it meant to be like Moses in The Prince of Egypt?

~ The look on Emma’s face when Regina reveals Mr. Gold’s real name could be interpreted two ways: A) she is incredulous that they are talking seriously about fairy tale characters; B) she is horrified to learn that Gold is that particular villainous character.

~ Does Regina have the ability to just transport anyone anywhere, even remotely? That’s a formidable power from a strategy perspective.

~ Charming is so done with Rumple and all these villains!

~ Did Emma not see Jefferson lurking in the hospital room? Why is Regina comfortable leaving him there with Henry?

~ It’s really telling that Emma goes to see August before going to battle. She is not seeking any material help, just moral support. Then he ends up filling the role of the fallen mentor whose death motivates the hero.

~ It’s pretty symbolic that the town’s library isn’t running! Just like the clock until Emma came.

~ I forgot that Emma sees Snow’s coffin!

~ When you think about it, putting the egg inside Maleficent was really a violation of her person. (Spoiler: Was she carrying it inside her the next few times Snow and Charming saw her, as shown in Season 4?)

~ Mary Margaret probably reads the book to Henry while he’s in the coma because when she did that for David it woke him up.

~ Does Jefferson work for the hospital? That’s the only explanation I can think of for how he obtained a uniform, knew the passcode, could give the desk nurse a drink without being questioned, and knew that Belle was there.

~ How did Jefferson know about Belle’s connection to Mr. Gold?

~ Emma’s fight with the dragon might be symbolic of her own internal/psychological battle.

~ When she destroys the dragon, she looks like she’s exhausted and can’t believe she just did that.

~ I’m confused about the timeline in the present day. It looked like Emma went down the elevator shortly before midnight, but when David gets in his car it’s 7:00 a.m. Did Emma's journey and battle last all night?!

~ The Mother Superior must be a hospital chaplain. I wonder who called her to Henry’s room—somehow I doubt Regina would ask for a religious person to come if anything happened to her son.

~ Ironic that Regina is the one to say “You did it” when Emma breaks the curse(s)!

~ Henry looks at Emma with so much pride!

~ Such a good finale!

5. what's a fic idea you've had that you will never write?

i have so many fic idea swimming around in my head that i will definitely never have time to write but.

i do have a fighter pilot au (who am i kidding a Battlestar Galactica au) where Ava's an ace pilot sent out in an experimental ship to look for safe harbor after human civilization is decimated; only 50,000 living souls left alive out of billions. the first jump carries them into deep space.

Bea's is an expert navigator and astrobiologist, sent along with Ava to keep an eye on her, since Ava's famously reckless and spent basically every other night in the brig back on the Galactica. but Bea's also the science officer, tasked with seeking out habitable planets for an initial attempt at seeding human colonies as far from the ruins of civilization as possible. the idea would be to give them the ability to contact each other, but leave warnings about the Cylons, warnings to never go back.

they have a larger freighter-style ship capable of supporting them for... as long as it takes, complete with a lab (for Bea) and a starfighter (so that Ava can immediately destroy any Cylon scout ship that makes visual contact with them). they have equipment Bea can use to study any habitable planet they find, to set up shop on the surface for the several weeks it takes to fully bio-map and geologically assess the landscape. once they set down a beacon, hopefully the signal can reach the people working on the Dandelion Pods that Beatrice created - ships that can follow their trail and carry the 500 or so people needed for a viable population to the planets they've earmarked.

it ends up taking them far away from the fighting, Ava picking off one or two scouts who locate their signature before it fades out of sight. then it's her mechanical skills that help, fixing the ship as it breaks, setting up systems they didn't have the time to anticipate the need for.

just... quiet, and fathomless space. the two of them growing closer, Bea's initial wariness giving way to fondness, to something more. huddling for warmth when they have to all but power down the ship to avoid creating a heat signature when the Cylons scan into deep space for survivors.

they're the last hope for humanity, adrift out in the stars with Bea growing veggies in planter pots because "access to fresh food has been proven to promote psychological health" "sorry professor. i won't make fun of your beets ever again"

Ava buffing her fighter and Beatrice watching her check the weapons systems and paint new, lurid designs on the wings, hoping desperately that they never have to use it, that they're never found, (that they never have to go back).

yes i write every day unless i have bad pain or brain fog, but even if it's just a sentence i like to write Something because i couldn't for years & i'm trying to make up for lost time lmao.

a sentence:

"She sat with the paper bag of chocolates cupped in her palms and thought of how the vendor touched them all with his bare fingers, once or twice raising them to wipe at the sweat in his hair, and how the vents rattled, pumping recycled air into that deep space, little ribbons on the grilles to show everyone that the air was flowing, to warn them when it stopped."

13: How much planning do you do before writing?

i think about my WIPs when i'm out walking sometimes, but i never write anything down, believing foolishly that if a plot point or a scene or a line is good enough i'll remember it, or that when i sit down to write it'll reassert itself as a natural part of the narrative. aside from that, all i work with is a first line and a vague concept and i much prefer it that way.

Genuinely curious, why do you hate Peggy so much?

assuming this is about my post about laughing how captain carter died in mom (which i put in the anti peggy tag, not her tag) i really can't stand hayley or peggy at this point. i'm tired of marvel including her in places where she's literally not relevant, when there are like 1000 other marvel women that could be introduced to the mcu.

to preface, i used to adore peggy. she was my favorite marvel character hands down, i had the 'i know my value' quote as my senior quote in the yearbook, religiously watched agent carter, etc. i even met hayley at the first comic con i went to:

i had been so excited to meet her and cosplayed as sharon carter from ca: the winter soldier, and got a photo with her before her panel. (this was like the same month civil war came out) almost the entire panel hayley talked about how steve/sharon was disrespectful and basically did nothing but bash the character i was cosplaying as. i felt really insecure after her panel, and even heard some people make funny comments about my cosplay (while it wasn't hayley's fault that those people were rude to me) but there was no reason to bitch about steve and sharon that much, rather than just talking about what she enjoyed about her own show. it ruined my first con experience <3 she's also said ugly things about emily vancamp/sharon carter at other comic cons. as well as said poc need to 'wait their turn' for representation.

and as far as peggy goes, literally everything about her in the mcu was based on other characters in 616 comics. the writer's of ca: the first avenger talked about how there was barely any source material for peggy and so they took from sharon carter in the comics to flesh her out. peggy is also partially based on the character cynthia glass- who was the agent involved with project rebirth, who steve called his first love, and was also a nazi spy. in 616 (before the mcu changed it) peggy was a blonde chick who fought nazis, and was really just backstory for sharon carter. here's cythia glass compared to mcu peggy:

in the comics, she didn't found shield (she wasn't even a shield agent) nick fury founded shield, she wasn't the love of steve roger's life sharon carter was, and she sure as heck wasn't a super soldier/captain carter. and that's not even mentioning the things that she did in the mcu, she hired zola and other nazis, let them rise to power, and probably knew about shield doing horrible things like they did to isiah bradley and ava starr. and she shot at steve after some woman kissed him?? and what they've given peggy in the mcu has destroyed sharon carter's character in the mcu, when she's been the love of his life in comics for 60 years:

and all of this has led to emily vancamp/ sharon carter fans being treated absolutely horribe by mcu fans. not sure if you know how bad it was when civil war came out, but emily and other fans were both getting death threats because steve kissed sharon. (hayley's comments at comics cons helped fuel this) i even remembered getting hate from other peggy stans bc i simply liked sharon and didn't hate on her. (and i'm not even getting into steve's ending in endgame and how they turned sharon into a villain in tfatws)

tldr, i used to love peggy until i picked up a comic book. she literally had no relevance before 2011. i'm so fucking tired of marvel bringing her back and giving her traits from other characters in the actual source material. we don't need more peggy carter, she's already had her time to shine. i want other women that haven't even gotten their mcu introduction yet (or have been treated badly) to get the respect they deserve.

Abbott Elementary D&D Episode WHEN baby?

What can I say, I'm a simple lesbian. I see a show with a great group dynamic and I gotta think about what they'd be like at the tabletop.

Plus, I'm...responsibly imbibing and putting off work so HERE WE GO!

Jacob becomes determined to start some kind of gaming club at the school, but he hadn't actually DM'd before so he asks the other teachers if he can do a "practice run" first and bribes them with takeout and beer to let him run a game for them in the gym in the evenings. Surprisingly Barbara has come around to it NOT being a tool of the devil thanks to her and her husband watching Stranger Things together ("If it can help those kids beat a demon and learn to appreciate family in the god-forsaken 1980s, it can't be all bad"). Melissa says she could learn a new game since its no fun card sharking the same five people at her local bar, and Gregory is pretending really really hard that he's not EXTREMELY excited about this because he's always wanted to play but never did as a kid. Ava laughs until she cries when Jacob first asks if she wants to join then flips when Gregory will be there..."and when those craft beers go right through his skinny hipster body" she wants to be there to see his "wild" side. Janine knows nothing about the game but is excited about a new extracurricular activity and thinks its a great way to bond with the kids, and Mr. Johnson wasn't invited but shows up with Coke and a Costco-sized bag of Smartpop because he KNOWS whats up.

Barbara : Definitely a Cleric. She is willing to physically fight Jacob though if she has to "choose a god" from the pantheon, so to keep the peace AND the immersive experience they agree Not To Go Into It but its enough that her healing and spells are faith-endowed. Early on though, she gets some REALLY good rolls to hit when they're surrounded by enemies and she becomes more of a "warcaster" in addition to healing. Lots of buffs and she gets into the idea of a powerful warrior who gives holy blessings with her presence. Probably should've chosen Paladin from the getgo with how she ends up playing, but she makes Cleric work for her.

Melissa : Definitely a Rogue. Okay, I promise all my thoughts aren't basic but also listen to me. The whole concept of the rogue network is SO up her alley. She almost seems like she's not even playing a character at first, but then JACOB surprises her with his NPCs and the two of them roleplay thieves cant as a sort of south philly slang. I think Jacob would be an AMAZing DM so he's ready to meet her where she is (not really invested at first, kind of skeptical on the whole thing), and draw her in by accurately using terminology and making the world feel gritty, lived-in, and familiar - and Melissa LOVEs it. She starts to really get into the fiction of this fantasy world and take the threat/plot hook seriously. Gets yelled at by the support for jumping into fights and going unconscious because she's not a tank class; maybe multiclasses into Barbarian or at least takes a feat or two so she's not going down every fight.

Gregory : The archetypal wizard; old, beard, pointy hat, the whole deal. I hear you thinking "Why not human fighter?" but no. Gregory will not do human fighter, he's been waiting to play D&D for like twenty years and hes researched EVERY aspect of every class. Could be a minmaxer, but moreso is just WAY overthinking the choice so finally Jacob just gives him a premade, high-fantasy, Gandalf-ass wizard named something like Geoffrey Jankins or whatever. Gregory spends a lot of time making his : [ face, worried that he's already destroyed his chance of "having fun in a tabletop game with work friends" because he's THAT kind of person. Once he relaxes, he starts to feel a lot more kinship with his wizard character; he's got a backstory in the premade sheet where he's trying to find a spellbook that was stolen from him that contained years of his hard work and research. Over the course of the game Jankins kind of works with the others the same way Gregory did as he warmed up to them as a substitute, and in the end has the Real Emotional Moment in-game as he realizes what his work was keeping him away from (the relationships with the others in the group being his found family). No one leaves that game with a dry eye.

Ava : Elf Bard, College of Swords. She refused to make a character when Jacob mentioned it involved adding numbers because she's too hot for math, so she got another premade that he knew she'd enjoy. She's actually pretty stoked on the idea of a Creative and Powerful Artist who's dripping with charisma enough that she actually gets the ins and outs of the spell rules really well and is very generous with her Bardic Inspirations ("even to Gregory's old-head-ass"). She does however seem to only use Cutting Words on her own team, specifically Janine ("Jacob! How could you let her use that spell?" "In my defense I didn't think she'd even read the spell sheet!"). I say College of Swords because the worst thing about being a bard is having to share the spotlight with someone else, so she decides she wants to be the hero AND the sexy song vixen who makes the ballad about it.

Janine : Some kind of Genasi or fey druid. She wants to connect with the nature in the world and tries to channel a kind of Pan-from-mythology-meets-Steve-Irwin-depicted-by-Simone-Biles character. Her character motivation is she wants to write a guidebook of the animals - both common and magical - that they come across but keeps absolutely failing her rolls. She rolls a one and slaps a Mystical Enchanted Forest Deer in the face, launching a fight that the party is NOT prepared for. IS very good in a fight; she'll transform into an owlbear and headbutt an enemy away if one of the other party members are in trouble. Only remembers how to use like, three spells total and doesn't tell Jacob that she has no clue how things like spell slots or materials work so she just doesn't track it / makes up a number when asked how much she has. Jacob catches on pretty quickly, but side eyes into the camera to let us know he's deliberately letting it slide because she keeps rolling badly and could use the break.

Mr. Johnson : Makes his own dwarf warlock who's ABSOLUTELY minmaxed to hell. The overall playstyle of the group though is more laid back, but he's after a harder core play experience and only drops in sometimes if he hears there's a boss fight. Can do things from the book that are completely legal but have Jacob looking up obscure status effects and rules to try to keep up. Would probably make a good DM, but says he's more of a Warhammer guy.

Jacob : Obviously the DM, but I imagine that once the kids get into the game one of them might want to take a turn DM'ing. Jacob, gleaming with pride, would be happy to pass the DM screen to the "younger, brighter, woker generation". He joins the party as a ranger ("...which in the fifth edition classic is not the most capable class however with updates and features can be utilized in very specific cases for role-play and battlefi-" "For f*cks sake Jacob just take a shortbow proficiency and lets get on with it"), and spends most of the time that they're playing being extremely proud of his student....until the kid catches him on a technicality on his animal companion range.

Former Glory—The Anatomy of Ramshackle's Dorm Uniform.

This post will basically be me piecing together how I came up with Meruem and Grim's uniform for all the visual learners out there this will contain spoilers for Meruem and Grim's primary Twist Base (essentially the motif; Riddle and Queen of Hearts, Idia and Hades.)

Hear me out, the reason I chose these two has a lot to do with a theory that I have but it kinda spoils my story again— Grim.

Everything leads back to Grim really; But Grim is the beast from the start of the game where you battle it in some unknown ruins (NRC mayhap??)

Chernabog and Firebird share hella similarities—

Both emerge from a mountain, both wreak chaos, both both manipulate fire (Merry even turns the colors lava bruh) they are both forces of destruction (Merry and Grim), and good ultimately triumphed over both of them (Idk how im gonna write in a foil when most of it is in the uniform) the difference between the two is Firebird is not necessarily evil like Chernabog.

While Chernabog is a Force of Evil, Firebird is a Force of Nature, not necessarily looking to start shit but the Spring Sprite was the one who awoke them causing Firebird to destroy the Forest.

Merry is a very volatile person—one minute, a quiet, mild mannered person capable of reining the Adeuce and Grim the next, excitable and slightly out of pocket—not on the extreme of Floyd but enough to give some whiplash.

Alternating between one base to another.

I wanted to reflect this—

The Extremely Rough Sketch.

Let's focus on the emblem of Ramshackle Dorm since it will hold the shirt together— a church bell with flowers decorating the exterior, draconic wings encasing the bell before transitioning into flames.

There were no changes to this emblem, this will be my official emblem if anything.

Now let's focus on the rest—The cape is long and bilowing attached to a high collar eventually transitioning into flames.

I'd estimate that the wing span was meant to encompass the entire Heartslabyul cast without having to bunch them together

The draped skirt took on inspiration from Ava Ire's own skirt (the future wrapping motif will be kept) after her transformation. There's also shorts and future shoes will be added.

The three ribbons are key—the main ribbon symbolizing the Spring Sprite, left ribbon Chernabog/Spring Sprite's Reindeer friend in the gift above, and the right ribbon will be Fire bird.

Clearer Rough Sketch—

As you can see, shoes have been implemented, going for the Roman sandals/ballet dancer motif. Grim's was essentially both Chernabog's infamous wings and Firebirds flames—compared to Meruem's not a lot is going on.

The sketch on the right is a previous Dormleader wearing the uniform, you can see the Firebird motif out shine the Spring Sprite, this is bc I believe that the Ramshackle dorm uniform shifts from person to person. No Dormleader rules the same—I'd even say the same for the other dorms.

Grim's pays homage to another Dormleader, wings of Chernabog and flames of Firebird. No Spring Sprite.

At first I drew another Dormleader in the same uniform as Meruem's to get a feel for a whole new body type before going for Chernabog's infamous form: the stomach acts as the hole that he throws the summoned spirits into, he has pants to match the mountain he sprouted from, his flames subdued.

There are no ribbons bc this Dorm leader has a set base with only a few add-ons. No Spring Sprite.

I forgot to put the emblem but it'd probably be where a Breast pocket would be located.

High collar that was supposed to match Crowley's, the outer half is essentially connected, he could shrug it off to reveal wrappings on his back connecting the pants and top.

I try my hand at sketching other Dormleader forms, bottom left goes for the off shoulder emblem that connect the wrappings top, bottom right has the bandages be connected to the cape, no high collar. Top left shows the back, top right shows a lowered high collar and that's it.

Minor changes.

I shorten the cape allowing some flames to cascade. The high collar stays but this time the bell of the Spring Sprite was lifted to the ends of the collar.

To lazy to draw the wrappings.

This time the cape isn't too connected with the collar and the draped skirt seems shortened with the slit of the leg being subdued.

Another previous Dormleader.

The collar is replace with a turtleneck, a triangle slit parting it—the cape shortened in the front with a Firebird motif, longer in the back with a Chernabog motif.

Wrappings on the arms and up to the wrist, draped skirt also on a high low—emblem holds the top together, barely there wrappings.

Conclusion:

After many a trial and many a tribulation I've come to my final conclusion: While Grim's dorm uniform will stay the same essentially, Meruem's will have two forms.

1: A shorter cape, mandarin collar, standard drape skirt, shorts, and Roman sandals

2: Long ass super cape, high, Crowley approved, collar, standard drape skirt, shorts, Roman sandals.

Emblem, ribbons, earrings, and sleeves included.

Grim has a lil hat with a bell attached.

I added two forms instead of one because of a theory that respective dorm leaders get power boosts when their in their territory (Riddle getting a power boost in Heartslabyul, Azul getting a power boost in Octavinelle, that stuff) so when another Dormleader is on their territory they only deal neutral damage to one another if they were to fight—

Basically, Merry's 1st form won't affront any other Dormleaders.

I would've tried coloring it in but like.....

No. I'm lazy. No.

So, yeah, this has been a journey and a half.

I love your Warrior Nun posts and tags. I was wondering what you're hoping to see in the next season.

Aw thank you! 🥰 Warrior Nun is one of my fave shows and I'm very excited for season 2!!

I would love to see the squad on the run together, hiding out and training with one another. All of them training with Ava so she can defend herself and others more confidently, and they each have their skills so she could learn a lot from each of them.

I want to see more of Ava experiencing things she's never gotten the chance to, the moment with her on the beach and when she was dancing in the club and such made me so happy - like just little glimpses of Ava getting to experience new things and new foods etc.

Lilith learning about what's happened to her and how to deal with all of the new powers and changes she's facing. I want to see some good bonding moments with Lilith and Ava, like them just sitting together and having a heart-to-heart about what's happened to them both.

I want more flashbacks of Beatrice, Mary, Lilith and Camila as a friendship group. It would be really interesting to see little snippets of their past.

More of Mary with her guns and taking charge, I love her and I want to know she's safe. She could teach Ava so much, and I could really see her taking charge and being in control when they're in the run. Similarly, I want to see her and the others clash over different opinions on what the plan should be.

I want more focus on Camila and exploring her character more. And more on Ava's dynamics with them all individually. I want a random fluffy moment like a food fight or them bickering over who gets to sleep on the beaten couch and who has to take the floor (in the safe house or abandoned place where they end up staying).

More Avatrice. I just want them to kiss and be soft, I want protective Ava and her making jokes that Beatrice can't help but smile at. I want protective Beatrice stopping the others training with Ava because she can see it's overwhelmed her. I want more of Beatrice reading Ava stories about past warrior nuns and training with her on phasing. I want Ava falling asleep on Beatrice's shoulder and Beatrice carefully brushing hair out of Ava's face.

I want angst and pain and hurt/comfort. I want fluff and softness. I basically want all of the emotions because it draws me in and all of the little moments really build to these huge finale type scenes that destroy us all emotionally but are so satisfying.

Episode Three, oh boy, where do I even start? Buckle up friends. This is going to be a long one, also yes, behold! Scenes from a Marriage Spoilers ahead!

I’ve watched the episode five times in the last 24hrs between work and sleep this should give you enough information about how much I loved it.

Mira shows up to Jonathan’s home, their old home with the intention to wow him — which she successfully does, yes, but her clothes, the way she dresses herself and wears her hair, her make up too, it all underlines that she now finally carries to the outside what she had carried around with herself for god knows how long on the inside. She is loud, she is bold, she takes no shit from anyone. She is done making herself small. BUT she isn’t done with Jonathan.

She wants him back. She still loves him. It’s why she is stalling the divorce, signing the papers would make it final. For the moment she gets to hold on to him, to the possibility that MAYBE it isn’t over. Her waiting with the promotion until she has talked to him, asking for his input, underlines as much. She wants him back, she hopes that maybe he would come along to Europe with Ava. She doesn’t dangle the “ We could start fresh, just the three of us. ” In front of him, she plain out asks if he would come. ( Later on she asks if it would change anything for him if Poli wouldn’t come, granted, but I’ll get to that part in a moment. )

What’s interesting to note here, is — and back to her attire we go, that she never takes off her coat. Not even when she huddles under the blanket. It’s a protective measure, a shield if you will. What if she lays herself bare in front of Jonathan and he rejects her? Her realizing he has turned the upstairs bedrooms into rumbled storage only intensifies that fear because those two empty room visualize a gaping hole in both of their lives. So on one side her never taking off her coat works as a protective layer of sorts but at the same time it symbolizes that at any moment, she is ready to leave.

After their failed conversation about London, she makes as much clear when Jonathan who doesn’t want to let her go, keeps offering her wine until she gives in. Him destroying Mira’s truth so easily, poking holes into what she thinks she has realized for herself speaks for him finally being able to call out her bullshit but at the same time he goes at it from the wrong angle, because Mira IS finally free even if she doesn’t find the freedom she claims she has in being alone and detached from everything like she claims she does, she does find her freedom by getting to be herself in a relationship, she doesn’t need to make herself small, she meets Poli head on ( they fight as he states in the phone call but we’ll get to that ), perhaps a bit stronger and with a bit more force than she needs to because she is worried that if she doesn’t then she’ll slip back into old habits and make herself small again. From one extreme into the other.

So Jonathan implying that Mira is lying to herself is right. She is lying to herself. She can’t even acknowledge while she left him in the first place, why their marriage failed and going back to him without doing that means she would fall back into old habits FOR SURE. Her straight out pouring the espresso he made her into the sink for once stating to him directly what she wants while he suggests she wants something else, making a decision for her like he so often has before — mind you he was rightfully miffed because she yawned while he talked about his therapy, signaling a lack of interest with that; was beautiful to see. It’s sad she didn’t communicate more clear with him outside of that moment when she insisted he read his morning pages to her.

Claiming Mira didn’t hope they’d wind up having sex, would be a lie. It’s proof for her, that he still wants her, that he still craves her. She backed down when he told her off even if his rejection did hurt. She tried a second time, but she didn’t push past his no, didn’t try to soften his resolve or press his buttons. She offered to leave instead. He claiming she had missed him too and had thought about him too, wasn’t a lie. In the way she’d struggled to leave in episode two, basically fleeing the house and telling him she’s no longer attracted to him in an effort to hurt him so he won’t stop her, shows that that wasn’t easy for her and that she wasn’t playing him when she said that. Her telling him she’d come this past week only thinking about him was definitely an effort to get what she wanted. An excellent effort, but you know, still only that.

Now I was so proud of Jonathan the entire episode for the progress he had made and for calling Mira out and all that only to watch it go sour within seconds. Why didn’t he just turn off his phone? The concept of a potential girlfriend in his life was as jealous inducing as it was thrilling to Mira, because what if he still chose her even though he had someone he liked and was interested in? The ultimate prove that it wasn’t too late. Until he made sure she heard the call and heard him take a break with her. Then it became real, reminded her that she was potentially pushing him into the role of a cheater.

Him being irritated when she instead of jumping his bones and leaning into his touch, pushes herself away, and walls to the point where she slips back into how things were between them before she left him, drove home how calculating that move of his was.

It becomes worse when he pulls out that voice message. He had this leverage over her this whole time and waited for the perfect opportunity to present it to her. You can tell me what you want, that is fucking calculating. Granted, Mira only told him that Poli was away and didn’t mention any relationship trouble ( but then why would she? ). When she asks if his decision would change if Poli wouldn’t come to London with them, she implies that she would leave him and would want to start fresh with him not directly dangling the “ A fresh start and new surroundings is what we need ” in front of him, but she implies it.

They both played each other incredibly dirty in this episode.

BUT ( and yes of course there is a but ), Jonathan pulls the voice message right after he tells her that what they had was a miracle and that they are THROWING it away, not threw it away, throwing. Present tense, everything he says about them there he says in present tense NOT past tense!!! It’s been a year since they parted and he still holds on to her and he still loves her and he still wants her back and by showing her that voice message of Poli stating that he wouldn’t stop Mira if she were to go back to Jonathan he tells her he knows that it’s no one holding her back but herself.

It’s also what he told her when he asks her what Poli has to do with anything.

And Mira? Telling him he shouldn’t end it and that “ It isn’t unforgivable ” and that maybe she will forgive him? I don’t know if she realizes it, but she is asking him if he could still forgive her.

The utter beauty and absolute tradegy of this episode was that they communicated past each other nearly the entire time.

I cannot wait for next week’s episode. Even if I doubt I’m ready.

AUA World Description

So AUA is really hard to explain but I’m gonna try

Basically, AUA is something akin to a military academy, but instead of defending a country they defend the multiverse as a whole. The academy is so powerful that in order to help prevent wars and fights within itself, they have the commanders follow a monarchy, which sometimes works, like in the case of Calib and his family tree, where the bloodline following thing ends up really good because Beth raised her daughters right (YES Beth is the reason Ava is a good person, I am god and I’m telling you no way in hell Calib did), but other times is a horrible idea in the case of like Alocer who is literally the worst ruler in the academy’s history.

Their royalty works in the way of pairs, which I’m gonna explain using the characters it applies to, Evo and Finn. Evo is Ava’s son, and he’s known as the True Prince of AUA. If he had a sibling, they would be the Relative Prince/Princess/One (gender neutral term AUA uses for rulers), which basically means that if something happened to the True One, whether that be illness or fucking death, there’s someone else to do everything needed. Evo has no sibling, so he was allowed to choose who the Relative One would be, and he chose Finn. Not gonna get into all the reasons Evo chose Finn, but that’s how it works.

The academy is pretty basic in Generation One, but in Two and Three, it gets more complex because they have to deal with soulless Alocer dicking around.

There’s a group of people who get sent to AUA because they show that they have a talent for abilities that AUA needed, like kindness and patience and bravery, so they become like mentors and stuff, they’re in the Second and Third

AUA exists in a weird like bubble thing where AUA doesn’t belong to a universe, they exist actually in the white void that represents the multiverse itself in the story

There are universes and timelines that are allies with AUA which AUA protects specifically

Each universe has branching timelines and a job the people at AUA do is they shut down timelines when they get too large or take up too much space in the multiverse. They basically just destroy it and everyone inside it dies, though if they think someone from that timeline is important enough, they will save them and their family and give them a home in AUA.

I’m probably forgetting a bunch of stuff, but fuck it, that’s the basics

General Hospital upcoming spoilers:

- Sasha and Brando may be newlyweds, but they still have some major (as well as basic) things to figure out about their lives moving forward.

- When things get explosive between Spencer and Trina, will it be the good (as in “passions explode”) or bad type of explosion? And while Joss and Cam thought they were taking control of the narrative by going public with their story, things are about to take a turn they didn’t see coming.

- Spencer will lash out when he realizes Trina told Scott Baldwin (Kin Shriner) that he was her alibi. It could potentially bolster Trina’s case since the video went public while she was busy scolding Spencer in the cemetery.

- It sounds like some college hooligans might play a cruel prank and offer a reminder about the steamy scandal – as if Cam and Joss could forget!

- Esme will act like she knows for a fact something will work out, so she may suggest Nikolas can fix things with Ava Jerome Cassadine (Maura West) and rebuild his relationship with Spencer, too.

- Of course, Esme actually intends to destroy Nikolas and Ava’s marriage. Esme will keep taking steps to make that happen, but she’d better watch her back since so many people are out to get her.

Predictions — KHUX Finale, The End

I wanted to get this post out before the end of the month, so here it is. These are my final and last predictions for the KHUX finale. I've been following KHUX since 2018, and now that we're nearly at the finish line, I'm relieved. But I'm also skeptical about what'll transpire in the end. The last update heavily dampened my enthusiasm due to the narrative choices that were made. Nonetheless, I'm still curious about where things could possibly go.

As I've said time and again, I believe Luxu will bequeath No Name to Brain. However, whether he does or not depends on the priority of the narrative. The same applies to Skuld using the pod later on. Is it more important to surprise the audience — subverting their expectations with something completely out of leftfield? Or will it follow a logical, straightforward conclusion? With Kingdom Hearts it's usually the former which…it is what it is.

Based on what we know of Subject X, we can safely assume Skuld will be entering the pod. And by process of elimination and basic logic, we can assume Brain will receive No Name. Regardless of what happened in the last update, it's hard to say whether anything is set in stone. Will DDBT actually go into sleep mode? Or will the program collapse? Will Ephemer and the Player's hearts fall asleep? Or will their hearts perish?

There's also the question of what 'The Break' is referring to. Is it referring to RDBT, DDBT or both? RDBT will be transformed or rebuilt into Scala ad Caelum. DDBT may possibly go into sleep mode based on Brain's theory. It was established in DDD that data can't dream, but the world it exists in can. If we're to rely on that info, then it's possible 'The Break' happens in RDBT. But that'd mean RDBT would temporarily become a sleeping world which is unlikely.

The ruins of RDBT still exist underneath Scala ad Caelum. It's possible that RDBT doesn't actually 'end' like we've been led to believe, but rather the world shattered into pieces, and those pieces were reconstructed into or used as the foundation of Scala ad Caelum. Either way, 'The Break' will happen. The question is though, has 'The Break' already happened? My prediction is that 'The Break' already happened (or at the very least, by the time the four Union Leaders arrive), and Brain uses No Name to construct Scala ad Caelum over the shattered remnants of RDBT.

Luxu and 'Darkness' battle in The Ark room. Here's something to think about: what if one of the pods gets destroyed? True Dandelion and Maleficent aside, there's five pods left. Three of them (Lauriam, Elrena and Ventus) will be sent off to the future. That'll leave two pods for travel. But let's suppose one of them does get destroyed during their battle. Only one pod would be left. Now, let's switch over to DDBT. Skuld is getting in that pod. As for what'll prompt her (or force her) to use it? There are four other dark entities left in DDBT. Once Skuld arrives in RDBT, Luxu will send her off to the future.

Now let's assume two pods are destroyed. If Skuld uses the pod, then what'll happen to her? Will she still arrive in RDBT? If she does, then will she arrive in The Ark room or somewhere else? I doubt that'd happen, but it's an interesting scenario. In the KHIII Secret Reports, Luxu said that he sent 'the five' to the future. I wonder if the True Dandelion was one of them. Brain will likely stay behind, so it's possible. Anyway, I predict one of the pods in RDBT's Ark room will be destroyed during that battle.

As far as predictions go that's about it. There are some things I'd like to see though: another cutscene with the Master of Masters, Subject X reveal, a surprise Ava appearance (I miss my sweet fox girl), a connection to KHDR, or just an epilogue showing where everyone ended up. I doubt the True Dandelion will be revealed any time soon, but there's always a 0.0001% chance. It'd be crazy if the finale ends with Luxu finishing up the 'long story' he presumably told (the remaining) Foretellers. But I doubt it.

Team Squad Fun Day

Gary was just looking at some news stuff on the computer. It was one of those rare times nothing in space is trying to kill them. He was actually graceful that for once him and his crew got a day off. Gary kept on looking on the computer until he saw a planet called Donetua and saw that the planet is opening fair and it caused Gary to basically yell in excitement.”

Gary - “Oh my god!! No way!!”

All of that yelling causes everybody to come to the room where Gary is at. They saw him basically jumping up and down excited like a little kid.

Little Cato - “What is it, Thunder Bandit?”

Gary - *excited* “There's a fair on this planet!”

Trina - *confused* “A fair?”

Jemima - *confused* “What's that?”

Gary - *surprised* “You don't know what a fair is?”

Jemima - “Uncle Gary, up until I escaped, I never left the orphanage.”

Trina - “I never to been to one either.”

Little Cato - “Me neither.”

Avocato - “Same.”

Ash - “Well me and Fox did once. At least I think it was a fair.”

Fox - “Yeah. We only were there to help Da-Clarence steal stuff. Do fairs involve rocket ships and death lasers?”

Gary - “Uhh no.”

Ash - “Then no. We have never been to a fair.”

Gary “What?! You guys gotta be kidding me!”

Jemima - “What do you mean, Uncle Gary?”

Gary - “The fair is like one of the best places to be! It's like if a piece of heaven fell on earth and grew to show people its super awesome goodness.”

Little Cato - “What do you usually do there?”

Gary: *chuckles* “Oh where do I begin, Spider Cat? There is fun stuff like the athlete’s games, the Ferris wheel, roller coaster, bumper cars, prizes.”

KVN - “Oh!! We can ride them together! Because Gary and I are best friends!”

Gary - *push KVN away* “Get away from me you robotic demon devil!”

Trina - “What about the food?”

Gary - “The food is amazing there!”

Jemima - “What do they have?”

Gary - “Oh tons of great stuff! They got cotton candy, pizza, French fries, and many other stuffs!”

Trina - “Sound good!”

Little Cato - “Yeah. Makes me kind of hungry.”

Jemima - *excited* “I wanna see it!”

Fox - *excited* “Me too!!”

Trina - “Why don’t we go now? I mean there aren’t any evil guys to try and destroy us all.”

Avocato - “That’s true. Who knows this could be a good day off?”

Gary - “Exactly! This is like the golden ticket! A once in a lifetime trip to happy memory land!”

Mooncake - “Chookity pok!”

HUE - “I agree with Mooncake and Gary. This could sound fun. And with this new god like body, I can probably win lots of prizes.”

Gary - “Then it’s settled. AVA, take us to Donetua!”

AVA - “You got it Gary.”

The Crimson Light speed up and make it to the fair. Gary is the first one to step out. His eyes widen in amazement:

Gary - *excited* “Come on, guys! Let's go!”

Avocato - *chuckles* “ Slow down bud! Wait for us!”

Jemima holds her father's hand. While she was amaze on the things the fair has, she couldn’t help but feel nervous. She has never seen so many people since her old home at the orphanage.

Jemima - *nervous* “You think it would be safe Daddy?”

Avocato - *comforting* “I'm sure it is, baby. Gary wouldn't suggest it if it weren’t.”

Trina - *look around* “It does look colorful.”

Jemima - “And bright.”

Little Cato - “There is a lot of people.”

Avocato - “A ton of people so you guys better stay close to me, okay?”

Jemima - “Okay Daddy.”

Trina - “Sure thing.”

Little Cato - “You got it!”

The Team Squad was walking around the fair. While they were close together, they saw Gary basically looking around and running. It was like watching a little kid who is excited to see Santa at the Mall.

Jemima - “Have you been to a fair before, Uncle Gary?”

Gary - *nodding* “Yep. I loved them as a kid. My dad would take me here.”

Avocato - “So what are we doing first?”

Gary - “We can take baby steps. Since it all yours for the first time while I’m the ride master.”

Jemima was looking around the fair. She keeps seeing rides like roller coasters, catapults, spinning rides and they all look too scary for her. Then Jemima sees a ride that looks interesting and not scary.

Jemima - “What's that, Uncle Gary?”

Gary - Oh that's the merry go round!

Jemima: There's horses on it! Can we go on its Daddy?

Avocato - *smiles* “Sure honey!”

Little Cato - “I'll ride with you, sis.”

Trina - “Me too! It looks fun.”

Ash & Fox - “Wait for us!”

Fox - “I love horsy!”

They head to the ride and Jemima & her brother pick out a beautiful horse. The horse was white with a gold mane design. Trina was on a black and white horse; Ash was on a pink and purple horse. Fox was on a brown horse with white spots on it. Fox got it and was able to sit on it despite his size and he was really excited. Jemima had a little trouble getting on her horse, but Little Cato lift her up to help her.

Little Cato: *holds his sister up* “Up you go.”

Jemima - Thank you big bro!

Little Cato smiles and climbs up to sit with his sister. At first the ride was doing anything, and they were confused. Fox was slightly bouncing in excitement and wanted the ride to go now.

Trina - *confused* “So what does this thing do?”

Gary - “It just goes around as the horses go up and down. It takes a few second to work.”

Jemima - “Are you guys coming too?”

Avocato - *shook his head no* “It's okay. We will watch.”

Gary - “Besides, we need to take pictures of you kids!”

Jemima and Little Cato smile as the ride begins to move. It surprised them at first, but then seconds later they began to enjoy it.

Jemima - “Whoa it's moving!”

Little Cato - “Here we go!!”

The ride began to move, and Jemima began to enjoy it. She never had fun like this in a long time.

Jemima - “Weee!!”

Little Cato - “This is fun!”

Fox - “This is the ride of my life!”

They ride as the adult’s wave to the kids and take pictures. Gary smiled because he remembered the times, he would ride the Merry Go around with his Dad. It was one of his happiest memories. Even after his Dad died and burnt down his house, Gary would often sneak into the fair and go on the merry go around to relive those memories.

Avocato: “I love seeing my baby girl and son so happy.”

Gary - “Yeah it's so sweet.”

Avocato - “This is the first time I've done anything like this. I mean the closest thing Little Cato and I did together was training. Sometimes I wish I can go back in time and act like a real father to him.”

Gary - “Hey you are a real father to him. You took care of him and love him. Even died for him. That’s like ultimate dad love. It doesn’t matter if you didn’t do these kinds of things with him.”

Avocato - *smiles* “Thanks man.”

The kids have fun until the ride stops and they get off.

Avocato - “Did you like that ride, sweetie?”

Jemima - *happy* “Yeah! I like it a lot!”

Little Cato - “It was pretty cool!! What other rides can we do next?”

Trina - “Yeah! I got this awesome rush in my veins! It’s hard to ignore awesome rushes in veins.”

Gary - “Well there are roller coasters.”

Ash - “What are those?”

Gary - A ride that goes up, down, and all around. It’s like a loop de loop of extreme movement.”

Jemima - *scared* “Sounds scary.”

Gary - “It's actually fun!”

Avocato - *concerned* “Uh Gary? I think she might be too young for that kind of ride.”

Gary - “Oh yeah good point. There's the Ferris wheel and that’s also one of my favorite rides.”

Jemima - “What’s that?

Gary - “It's like a big wheel that take you up and down.”

Jemima - *nervously* “Is it safe?”

Gary - “Oh totally. I rode on it all the time.”

Avocato - “How about I go with you and Uncle Gary on the Ferris wheel while your brother goes with the others on the roller coaster?”

Jemima - *happy* “Okay!”

Little Cato - “Have fun Jemmy!!”

Jemima - “Thanks! You are too.”

The kids head to the roller coaster while Avocato and Gary take Jemima to the Ferris wheel.

Avocato - You ready baby?

Jemima: *nods* Uh-huh!

Gary - “Trust me you will love it. It’s also one of my favorite rides.”

Avocato - “Is every ride your favorite ride?”

Gary - “Not all of them. The catapult tends me freak me out sometimes.”

They walk up to the Ferris wheel. It was big with beautiful light colors. Some people where on them and there were a few empty ones. Gary, Avocato and Jemima got on a red one and sat down waiting for the ride to be ready.

Avocato - “If you get scared you can hold my hand.”

Jemima - “Okay Daddy.”

Gary - “Don't worry. You got this Jemima, you’re a Team Squad: they can always face new challenges.”

Jemima - *smiles* “Okay I'm ready!”

The Ferris wheel moved a little meaning it was starting to get ready. Then the Ferris wheel slowly began to go up.

Avocato - “Here we go!”

Jemima feels excited at first but as the ride went higher, she started to feel nervous. She never was this high up since she was escaping the orphanage with Emma and the others.

Jemima - *nervous* “Oh we are really high…”

Avocato - “It's okay, sweetie. You can hold my hand.”

Jemima holds her daddy's hand tight as the go up to the top and it stops.

Jemima - “Hey it stops!”

Gary - “It's okay sweetie. It's normal for this ride.”

Jemima - *scared* “Oh...okay that fine.”

Gary - “Are you okay, honey?”

Jemima - “I never been up this high...Expect the day I escape *start to get scared* It feels....so scary! *tears up* What if I fall off?!”

Avocato - *held her hands tightly* Now don't worry baby you won't fall off. I'll always protect you.”

Gary - “‘Me too. Whenever you fall down, we will always be there to help you get back up.

Jemima hugged her dad tight and buried her face at his side.

Avocato - “We promise.”

Jemima - “Thank you Daddy.”

Avocato - “Aww you're welcome princess.”

Jemima smiles at her father and Uncle Gary who smiled back at her. Gary then looked up in the sky. Sometimes whenever he sneaks here, he would go on the Ferris wheel just for a ride. When it stops at the top, he would always look up at the sky. When he looks up at the sky, Gary would always think of his Dad. He would remember the space stories his father would tell him and how they would pretend to have space adventures. Even though John died, Gary sometimes like to imagine that instead of John dying, he simply out there in space having lots of space adventures to protect the Earth. But he knows that this is reality and reality can sometimes be a real tearjerker. Then the Ferris wheel began to move again.

Jemima - “It's moving!”

Avocato - “Yep. We'll be down soon, Jemima.”

Jemima - “Okay this isn't so bad!”

Gary - “Almost there.”

Then the ride stopped, and everybody got off. Jemima actually felt happy because despite being scared for a little bit, she actually had fun on the Ferris wheel.

Jemima - That was actually fun!

Avocato: *picks her up* “You see? I told you it was safe.”

Jemima - “Thanks Daddy! Thanks Uncle Gary!”

Gary - “Anytime cupcake.”

Avocato - “I wonder how the others ride were.”

Then they saw Little Cato and the others looked dazed. Their hair looked a bit messy, and they were wearing t-shirts. At first, they were quiet which slightly worried Avocato, Gary and Jemima. But then Ash began to shout:

Ash - “That was the best ride ever!!!! The loops, the speed, it was amazing!!”

Fox - “I feel like a part of me died, and another part of me have just been born!”

Little Cato - “I didn't even care that I puke!”

Trina - “Neither did it!”

Jemima - *a bit concerned* “Are you guys okay?”

Little Cato - *excited* “Are you kidding? We had a blast! Dad the ride was so awesome!!

Avocato - “I'm glad son!”

Trina - “And how was y’all ride?”

Jemima - *happy* “It was fun actually! Daddy, Uncle Gary, and I went really high and then really low and high again. It was so fun!”

Little Cato - “That’s great!”

Gary - *stomach growls* “Anyone hungry!

Jemima - “I am!”

Trina - “Yeah I can grab something to eat.”

Fox - “Yeah I'm starved!”

Gary - “Well we can fix that! Come I'll take you to the snack place.”

Little Cato - “What do they usually serve here, Gary?”

Gary - “Stuff like cotton candy, hot dogs, popcorn, French friends, big pretzel, etc.”

Jemima - “I want some cotton candy!”

Ash - “Me too!”

Gary - “Okay! After snacks we get to win prizes!”

Jemima - “Oh yay!!”

Avocato - “This is actually a good plan Gary.”

Gary - “Thanks buddy.”

Then they made it to the snack bar. Luckily for them it wasn’t full since there weren’t many people. Jemima’s eyes widen in amazement. She never seen so many snacks that look really tasty. Jemima couldn’t wait to taste them.

Jemima - *amazed* “Wow! Look at all the snacks!”

Gary - “Yep! Get whatever you want, kiddos! The treats on me!”

Trina - “Oh that's awesome!”

Jemima: Thanks uncle Gary!

They went to the stand. The others began to look around on what snacks they wanted. Jemima had a little trouble seeing, but Avocato picks her up so she can see better.

Jemima - *smiles* “Thanks daddy.”

Avocato - “No problem baby. What snack do you want Jemima?”

Jemima - *thinking* “Hmmm...I wanna try cotton candy!”

Avocato: *chuckles* “You got it, baby.”

Little Cato - “I think I'll try a corn dog.”

Trina - “I'll get some popcorn.”

Fox - “There's some cheese fries with my name on it!”

Ash - “Ooh I wanna try the hot dogs!”

Avocato: *smiles* “Alright kids, one at a time.”

They all order the snacks. Then they went to a table to relax and enjoy eating their snacks. Jemima was amaze on how soft and pink her cotton candy food was. It even smelled really good and sweet. After a minute admiring her food, Jemima began to take a bite out of her snack.

Jemima - *delightful* “Wow! This is super yummy!”

Little Cato - *eating his food* “Yeah and this is good too! Hey sis, wanna trade bites?”

Jemima - “Okay!”

Jemima takes a bite of Little Cato’s corndog while he takes a bite of her cotton candy. Jemima eyes widen on the taste of the corn dog. Even Little Cato’s eyes widen on the sweet taste of the cotton candy:

Jemima - “Wow this is tasty!”

Little Cato - “So is this cotton candy!”

Trina - “I wonder what snack Gary got?”

Gary comes back with another dish in his hand. He sat down in his seat and when he opened the over, it was some funnel cake.

Gary - “Thought I'd get some funnel cake for you guys to share. It been one of my favorite cakes.”

Trina - “Ooh it looks good!”

They all take some bites. Jemima’s eyes widen like if she tasted the most wonderful food in the world.

Jemima - *amazed* “This is so good!”

Fox - *amazed* “This is like heaven inside of my mouth!”

Little Cato - “Yeah! I never tasted anything like it!”

Gary - “You never had sweets?”

Little Cato - “Oh I have. Just not funnel cake. Actually...I rarely had any sweets.”

Avocato - “Yeah I guess I wasn't much of a cake person. Anything sweet in general.”

Jemima - *confused* “Why not Daddy?”

Avocato - “I don't know. Maybe I never ate a lot of sweets. I don’t really have a huge, sweet tooth.”

Jemima - “To be honest, me neither.”

Gary - “They never gave you candy?”

Jemima - “Actually no. "Mom" didn't want us to spoil our meals and never gave us any.”

Trina - *sympathy* “Aw man that's tough.”

Jemima - “Actually not really. They had home cook food meals at the orphanage. They were tasty though!”

Gary - “Well at least they fed you kids.”

Jemima - “Yeah and we did have lots of fun. I played with my friends all the time. *sighs* I just hope they're okay.”

Little Cato - *concerned* “Aw don't worry I'm sure they are okay. I mean at least you guys escape.”

Jemima - “Yeah. But I still miss them. In fact, you guys kinda remind me of my friends.”

Gary - “We do?”

Jemima - Yeah. Gary remind me of my big sister Emma.”

Ash - “You have a sister?”

Jemima - “Well back at the orphanage, we may not be related but we were all siblings to each other. Emma was like a big sister to me...Little Cato and Daddy remind me of Ray.

Avocato -*touched* “Aww really?”

Jemima - “Yes. You both care about me and help me when I'm scared. He the one who helped me escape.

Avocato - *smiles* “Sound like a good brother.”

Jemima - “He was…*smiles* But I still have a great brother.”

Little Cato - *smiles* “And who's that?”

Jemima - “You silly!” *hugs him*

Little Cato - “Well I am an awesome brother. Before I met you, I never had any brothers or sisters.”

Jemima - “Really?”

Little Cato - “Yeah I was an only child.”

Ash- “I didn't know that.”

Trina - “So was I.”

Gary - “Yeah me too.”

Fox - “Same.”

Ash - “I did have a sister once.”

Jemima - “What happened to her?”

Ash looks down in sadness. Jemima knows that when somebody look down in sadness and have a sad face, that means they lost them. She knows because she saw Emma and Ray had that look before when Norman was shipped away.

Jemima - *feeling bad* “Oh I'm sorry! I didn't mean to say anything!”

Ash - *comforting* “It's okay you didn't know.”

Gary noticed how everybody looked a bit sad when Ash mentioned her sister. Not wanting this to be the depressing fun fair, Gary stood up and said:

Gary - “Hey I know what would cheer us up.”

He pointed to games where you can win prizes. It was a few feet away from them. The first game was a laser gun game where you have to shoot the moving target.

Jemima - “How do we play, Uncle Gary?”

Gary - “Simple, you need to shoot the target to get a prize.”

Jemima - *sad* “But I can't shoot.”

Little Cato: *cracks his knuckles* “You let your big brother take care of that, Jemmy.”

Jemima - “You can do it?”

Little Cato - *cocky* “Hey, I've had years of practice.

Avocato - *encouraging* “You can do it son!”

Little Cato plays the game, and it was a bit difficult as first. But he didn’t give up because he wanted to win for his sister. Little Cato remembers the lessons his father taught him about focusing on the target and not let the frustration get the better of him. Then in no time, he wins.

Jemima - *happy* “Yay!!! He did it!!

Gary - *cheering* “Way to go, Spider Cat!”

Little Cato - “Thank you!”

Alien - *bored* “Okay pick a prize you want.”

Jemima looks over the prizes. They had some prizes like basketballs, laser guns, but some really weird ones like eyeball in jars, and weird screaming small aliens in cages. These prizes aren’t very fitting for Jemima. But she did a cute pink teddy bear with a pink bow.

Jemima - *happy* “That pink teddy!”

Gary - “Okay! Can we have that pink teddy please?”

Alien - *bored* “You got it.”

He hands the teddy to Jemima. Jemima looked so happy and gave it a big hug.

Jemima - *ecstatic* “Thanks! *hugs Little Cato* Oh thank your big brother!”

Little Cato - “No problem Jemima!”

Ash - “My turn next!”

Trina - “Let’s do a contest!”

Ash - “What kind of contest?”

Trina - “We both play this game at the same time and see who wins first!”

Ash - *smug* “Oh you're on! And this is for Little Cato too!”

Trina - *confused* “Why?

Little Cato - *confused* “Yeah why?”

Ash - “Because I like you remember?”

Little Cato - “Oh right.”

Jemima: Good luck!

Trina - *smug* “Don't worry I got this!”

They both play the game. They began to shoot the targets. Deep down Trina wanted to use her magic because she loves to win games. However, she remembers how her parents will tell to play fair and using magic in games is cheating.

Gary - “Go girls go!”

Fox - “You can do it Ash!”

Then the game is over. It shows that Trina beat Ash by one point.

Trina - *cheering* “I won!! Yes!!!”

Ash - *dismayed* “Aw come on! You have magic!”

Trina - *defended* “Well so do you!”

Alien - “Actually all game booths have a non-magic barrier to prevent cheating.”

Trina - “Oh well...I still won!”

Alien - Alright, what will it be young lady?

Trina looked around the prizes. She didn’t really want a pink teddy bear because she not a fan of the color pink. Then she saw a snow globe that had a plant design in it.

Trina - *impressed* “Ooh I want that one!”

Then the alien gave her the snow globe. Trina smiled because she loves snow globes as long as she can remember.

Gary - “Good choice, Lady Magic!”

Little Cato - “Let us see!”

Trina show her friends her new snow globe. Everybody was amaze on how it looked.

Jemima - “Ohh it's pretty!

Ash - “It does look pretty cool.”

Trina - “I always love snow globes. I love these things.”

Little Cato - “Are they your hobby?”

Trina - “Yep!”

Jemima - “So cool!!”

Avocato - “Anything else we should do Gary?”

Gary - “How about we play some more?”

Little Cato - “Is there anything else besides this one? It can get boring after a while.”

Gary - “Well There's skeeball, basketball, and shooting galleries.”

Little Cato - *amazed* “Ooh Let's do a shooting gallery!”

Jemima - “Maybe you and Daddy should have a contest too!!”

Little Cato - *smug* “Hmmm...Maybe I can take down Dad.”

Avocato - *smirks and chuckles* “Okay yeah? I could whup you with my eyes closed!”

Little Cato - “So can I!”

Avocato - “Alright you're on!”

Little Cato - “Ooh I'm gonna beat you so bad!”

“Avocato: In your dreams, kiddo!”

The Team Squad was now at the shooting gallery place. Luckily, it wasn’t crowded and not many people were in it. But they do practice shooting and see how many holes they can shoot in the target board. Avocato and Little Cato was getting ready.

Jemima - “Good luck!”

Then the game started and both Avocato and Little Cato began to shoot their board target.

Trina - “You can do it Little Cato!”

Gary - “Come on buddy!!”

Little Cato - “Heh. Don't choke now, Dad!”

Avocato - In your dreams!

Jemima - “Who do you think will win?”

Gary - “I say Avocato he got more experience.”

Fox - *offensive* “Hey, younger generations always win!”

Ash - “Yeah it's true!”

Jemima - “Do your best!”

Then the timer beep and the game were over. Then the scoreboard shows that Little Cato and Avocato ended in a tie.

Alien - “It's a tie!!”

Trina - *amazed* “Wow! You guys were awesome!”

Little Cato - “Thanks! It was fun!”

Alien - “You both can pick out a prize.”

Avocato and Little Cato began to look around. They saw how the prizes had some guns. While it looked cool, they already had lots of guns. Then Little Cato spotted a music player and takes it.

Little Cato - “I really like this one.”

Avocato - “Nice. I think I'll take...That acoustic guitar.”

Gary - “You play guitar?”

Avocato - “I used to back when I was a teen.”

Jemima - *amazed* “That's so co daddy!

Little Cato: You never told me that?

Avocato - *shrugs* “Eh. I kinda gave up on it after I grew up.”

Gary - “Really how come?”

Avocato - “Had too many things to focus on to do my hobby.”

Gary - “Well now you get to focus on it again.”

Jemima - “I'd love to hear you play, daddy!”

Little Cato - “Me too!”

Avocato - *surprised* “Oh really?”

Gary - Yeah! It would be cool.”

Avocato - *smiles* “Well okay.”

Jemima - “Yay! It will be so cool!”

Little Cato - “Yeah!!”

Fox - “Come on, guys! I'm gonna try the strength game!”

Ash - “Oh I know you will win that easily!”

Fox - “Heck yeah!”

He goes to play, and he was so strong he knocked the bell off the game. His prize was a big stuffed dog.

Fox - *ecstatic* “Check it out y'all!”

Jemima - *surprised* “That's a big doggy!”

Ash - “Nice job bro!”

Fox - *hugging the dog* “I love this doggy!!”

Ash - Now I need to find a game so I can get something too.”

Jemima - *How about that one?”

She points to the skeeball booth. She saw some people playing the game. They were winning tickets and getting prizes.

Ash - *amazed* “Ooh that looks fun!”

Little Cato - “Go try it!”

Ash pick up the ball and threw it and it made in the hole and a ticket came out. Then she kept playing and more tickets came out. Ash kept on playing until the timer beep and she got lost of tickets.

Ash - “Hey look! Some paper came out.”

Gary - “Those are tickets. You win more of those; you can exchange them for prizes. Now you get to pick a prize with them.”

The alien took and counted the tickets. Then he said

Alien - “Actually she has enough for 2 prizes.”

Ash - *cheering* “Yes! Yes!”

Gary - “Alright! Okay pick your prize.”

Ash picks out an action figure for her prize. Then she saw Jemima and got an idea.

Ash - “I have one more to pick so it's your turn, Jemmy.

Jemima - “Really? I get to pick another prize?”

Ash - “Sure! Go ahead. You deserve it.”

Jemima looked around and had a little trouble deciding. She knows that she WAY too young to have a gun. Then she saw a Pokémon plush which was a teddiursa.

Jemima - “I like this one!”

Ash - “Nice!”

Jemima - “Thanks Ash”!

Ash - “No problem. I felt like you needed a prize.”

Jemima hugs Ash. Ash was a little surprised because nobody ever hugged her accept her brother and sister. But somehow, Jemima reminds her of a younger Harp and Ash hugged her back.

Jemima - “What do we do now?”

Gary - “Have more fun if y'all want! We have lots of time.”

Jemima - “Yeah! We can win more stuff!”

Fox - “And eat more snacks!”

Little Cato - “And more rides!”

Gary - “Alright! Let's do this!”

They all go have more fun and it was a blast.

Jemima got a couple more dolls, Avocato & Gary did some karaoke, & Little Cato and his friends rode more rides. For once in their life, they were having fun and not have to worry about no bad guys or anything. Then they were starting to get exhausted.

Gary - *exhausted* “Okay...How about We head home huh?”

Everyone agreed at once. Jemima had her head on her Dad’s shirt but was starting to get sleepy.

Jemima - *sleepily* “Mmmm…”

Avocato - “I think this little one is tired the most.”

Avocato picks her up and carries her as Jemima rests her head on his shoulder. Avocato smiles because it reminds him the time Little Cato was younger and whenever he gets tired, his father would carry him.

Avocato: *pats het back* “Poor thing is all tuckered out.”

Ash - “Who can blame her after all the fun we had.”

Little Cato “I don't. I had a blast!”

Trina - “Yeah it was really fun!”

Fox & Ash - “It was so awesome!!”

Avocato - *smiles* “It was actually.”

Trina - “Thanks so much, Gary!

Little Cato - “Yeah! We needed this.”

Gary - *smiles* “Anytime Guys. I wanted you all to have some good memories like I did.”

Avocato - “Well you defiantly gave us a lot of good ones. I've never seen my kids so happy.”

Trina - “And I never had this much fun.”

Fox - *smiles* “Neither have we.”

Ash - “Like I'm gonna remember this moment forever!”

Little Cato - “Me too and I know Jemmy will too.”

Gary - “I think she had a great time out of all of us.”

Avocato - “Her face was lit up the whole time. She loved every minute of it.”

Gary - “Well I did want her to give a fun memory.”

Avocato - “Well you did, buddy. And I can't thank you enough for that.”

Gary - “No problem Avocato. After all we been through, I felt like we needed it.”

They smiled at each other as they went back to the ship. Once they entered the ship, everybody went to their rooms and Avocato tucked his daughter into bed and set her new toys next to her.

Jemima: *sleepy* “Daddy?”

Avocato - “Yes Baby?”

Jemima - “Thanks for a great time. And tell Uncle Gary I said thanks too.”

Avocato - *smiled* “No problem.”

Jemima smiled and did a cute yawn. Avocato gave his daughter a kiss good night and left the room.

Avocato - “Good night princess. I'm glad you had a fun time.”

Jemima smiles and fell asleep as Avocato close the door. Then before he went back to his room, he saw Gary again and said:

Avocato - “Hey man. I just wanted to thank you again. For the trip. We needed it.”

Gary - *smiles* “No problem. After we all been through with Invictus and the Lord Commander, we deserve it.”

Avocato - “Yeah we did. I just wish I did this stuff with Little Cato when he was younger...I felt like I wasted his childhood.”

Gary - “Hey don’t say that. I mean I know it wasn’t perfect but at least he still has you. I still carry that happy moments I have with my Dad to keep going. Sure, the life burrito had some burnt parts...REALLY burnt parts, there was some good stuff too. It not too late with Little Cato and it’s definitely not too late for Jemima.”

Avocato - *smiles* “Thanks man. I just want to be a good father to them. I don’t want go to back to where I didn’t spend much time with Little Cato and have him taken away from me for 3 years.”

Gary - “Hey, those 3 years are really major bumps. But you managed to past them. You still can make these memories for both him and Jemima. They love you and you love them. And I know with me and the others, we can make these memories action pack and even heartwarming combine like a sandwich.”

Avocato - “Thanks man. I know I can’t make that without you.”

Gary - “Hey man. We are back to back for life.”

They did the clasps of friendship. They vow they will always be in Little Cato and Jemima and the rest of their friend’s life and make amazing memories. Even if it really bumpy, they will get past it because they are a Team Squad.
