Current obsession: horses, as usual... i have to find a new farrier because kley isnt answering me or antonio and my old riding instructor is moving back to switzerland and won't answer me eitherrrr 🙄🙄 whatever i am in a bunch of caballo buy & sell groups because after i get her feet trimmed i have to sell ladybird finally. have an offer lined up perhaps where she would join a larger herd, which was my ideal scenario for her. anyways in the meantime i have junebug, who is officially four and rehabbed from the leg wound -- i've backed her a few times and she sat me at a trot at liberty which was nice but we need rein control beyond "back up" AND SOMEONE STOLE MY FUCKING SADDLE. MY BAREFOOT BARRYDALE... i'm so fucking wounded about this still?? anyways i am thinking about reaching out to this person i met on a horse forum who was miraculously in uruguay is that allowed. also budgie timee

⏰Throwback Thursday🕰️

📆2008 14 years ago I was 35 years old

2008 was to be our last year in Cape Town. When we moved there, my husband’s company said it would be for 3 to 5 years. In September we were informed that we have to leave Cape Town at the end of the year😔😢. But for most of 2008 we were completely oblivious to this fact. We toured as far as we could, we explored, we enjoyed every second of the incredible beauty of CT.

This year our hobby expanded by leaps and bounds. I started to wear pantihose more. I had to admit, I was not too keen on wearing pantihose. In those days my husband had to bribe me to wear pantihose on a shoot. I just didn’t like wearing them, so a nice meal was a good bribe😂.

We also went on our first long, (for those days), trips. We only did day trips, but it all changed when we went on our first 3 day trip. We travelled from CT to Barrydale where we slept in the Royal Hotel. The next morning we drove to Knysna and via the Prince Alfred pass to Oudshoorn where we slept at a B&B. The last day we travelled home via Montague.

It was a great year that we enjoyed very much.

21. Januar: Und wieder on the road, denn heute wollen wir noch bis Paternoster. Das sind ca. 330 km. aber wir haben dieses Mal etwas genauer hingeschaut, die Straße soll gut sein. Also gut ausgebaut und geteert :) Kaum verlassen wir den kleinen Ort Barrydale, beobachten wir, wie die Wolken, die von der Meer kommen, sich über die Berge ergießen. Das sieht wirklich sehr eindrucksvoll aus, als wenn sie auf der anderen Seite wieder runterfallen.

Heute erkunden wir die atemberaubende Schönheit des Natures Valley und bewundern die faszinierenden Formationen in den Cango Caves. Anschließend tauchen wir ein in das malerische Städtchen Barrydale und lassen uns von seinem Charme verzaubern. Abenteuer und Entdeckungen stehen heute auf unserem Programm!

Dann einen kurzen Abstecher in „Ronnys-Sex-Shop“ einer Bar mitten im Nirgendwo. Hier hängen BHs und Co. von Besuchern aus sämtlichen Herkunftsländern.

Das Künstlerhotel ist malerisch schön und die Hotelkatze und die Klaviermusik unglaublich entschleunigend.

Barrydale ist der Ort der Bestimmung für heute. Hier haben wir erstmal für eine Nacht eine kleine Lodge auf einer Farm gemietet. Hübsch sieht es aus und die Hitze läßt sich unter dem Dach ganz gut aushalten. Unsere Landlady empfiehlt uns für abends ein nettes kleines Restaurant, wo wir einen sehr schönen Platz im Garten bekommen und uns einen kühlen farbenfrohen Drink gönnen. Ist ja nicht weit bis nach Hause :)
