2019 első felének legjobb lemezei, szerintünk

Idén év elejétől elkezdtem havonta megosztani, hogy milyen lemezeket hallgattam meg és azok mennyire tetszettek. Részben azért, mert így számomra is több emlék marad egy-egy albumról, részben pedig azért, mert remélem, hogy másoknak is hasznos lehet, tud tippeket adni. Ahogyan nekem is adnak tippeket mások listái. Szóval ahelyett, hogy csak a saját félévi hallgatásomat összegeztem volna, megkértem néhány zenerajongó barátomat, hogy ők is tegyék meg ezt. Itt vannak az összegyűlt listák, reméljük mások is találnak rajtuk olyan zenét, ami feldobja egy-egy napjukat! Köszi mindenkinek a közös gondolkodást!

És persze reblogban jöhetnek a további félévik.

A sajátomhoz még annyit hozzáteszek, hogy ez a 75 lemez mind tényleg eléggé tetszett. A havi listázás miatt sokkal jobban tudtam, hogy mik tetszettek idén eddig. Amik nagyon tetszettek, azokra sokkal jobban emlékeztem, többet hallgattam vissza őket. Meghagytam az eredeti havi gyűjtések pontszámait és leírásait. Ez jelzi azt is, hogy mennyire relatív ez a műfaj, van egy jelenideje aznap, amikor hallgatok valamit, van havonta egy másik aktualitása és persze mondjuk öt év múlva biztosan máshogy értékelném 2019 első felének jó részét. Fura az élmezőny, de most így gondolom, és az is van, ami persze mindig igaz, ezek nagy része nagyjából egyformán tetszik, a sok jó lemez együtt erősebb, mint kiragadni három “legjobbat”.

I was pairing up my Kingmaker and Wrath characters for worldstates, and I just realized my most recent are both dlc companion romancers.

(More details on the various worldstates below the cut)

Queen Adia Rih, NG tiefling Kineticist and Lorraine Summerglen, halfling Monk/Rogue/Paladin, mythic Angel. The goody-two-shoes, first playthrough of both games state. They both also romanced the blonde healer man of their parties.

Baroness Bella Dorso, CE tiefling Cleric of Norgorber and Poetry, CG tiefling Warpriest of Cayden Cailean, mythic Trickster. I'm not super sold on this pairing, but since Poetry is kind of a canon worldstate to my version of Golarion, it felt weird to not have someone with her. Although if I ever play or run a tabletop game of Kingmaker that would upset this state.

Baroness Liza Ylvaris, CG half-orc Alchemist and Angelina Ylvaris, CN half-elf Bard/Witch, Legend. The cousins universe! I keep going back and forth on if Liza should really be a Baroness or if I should make her a dlc protagonist, but I like her enough that for now she'll chill here.

Baroness Amber Orlovsky, LN half-elf Investigator and Caroline Gemsledge, LG dwarf Cleric of Torag, mythic Angel. This is the new one, and what they have in common is that both of these are a result of sitting down and looking at the lore around the games and crafting characters to fit into it. They both are also planned to romance the dlc companions (Kanerah and Ulbrig).

I have some Knight Commanders without Kingmaker counterparts just because I have more Wrath characters. If I ever figure out Secret Ending games for both games, those characters will probably also share a worldstate.

In the context of "in my game they are still actively out adventuring," they both have the highest perception scores in my party, so they get to be on night watch, and I think that they coordinate a slight overlap between their watches so they have a quiet moment to just be together while everyone else is asleep.

They have a similar outlook on life (both are Neutral Good goody-two-shoes), so I feel like the thing that attracts both of them to each other is their compassion.

🤎 How do they comfort each other?

Answering for Adia, my Kingmaker baroness because that's the game I've been playing most recently, and her love interest, Tristian.

Adia, now that they're officially together, is much more comfortable with giving Tristian hugs when he's breaking down. He has less experience with physical touch, but if it's her it's okay.

Tristian will try to solve the source of the problem with words, which is sometimes useful and sometimes not if Adia just wants someone to sympathize with her.

4. How easy is it to earn their trust?

Lorraine tries to see the best in people, and doesn’t really have problems with letting people close, so as long as you’re a decent person it’s pretty easy to earn her trust. Even if you’re not necessarily a decent person (cough, Daeran), if you’re reliable she’ll also trust you.

29. Do they usually live up to their own ideals?

Oh this is a great question. The answer is mostly. She’s a LG goody-two-shoes and maintains that alignment. But her greatest self-crisis is turning on Hawkblade for Daeran, because she knows it’s the morally wrong choice but she still does it, and she isn’t punished for it.

39. How easy is it for them to ignore flaws in other people?

Adia would tell you she tries to see the best in people, and she does, but she’s actually sensitive to this. She doesn’t spend much time with Regongar, for example, because he puts her on edge. So Tristians’ betrayal was actually a big deal, but she was more easily able to forgive him when she saw how much he was suffering from it (and forgive him a little too easily, if you ask some people).

Adia is from Nex. Her father is a sylph and her mother is a tiefling from Cheliax. They're both university professors. They're disappointed that she did not inherit the family propensity for magic, but she did inherit her father's connection to air. She's the youngest of three sisters. She came to the River Kingdoms to try to make a name for herself and help people. Her romance is Tristian.

Delta is from Cheliax, descended from Chelaxian colonizers and Sargavan natives. Her peri blood was a great surprise to everyone, and she found it stifling in a land committed to worshiping devils. I don't think I'll have her romance Varn, but I might steal her and her original planned build (Wizard/Cleric/Mystic Theurge) if I ever do Beneath the Stolen Lands.

Liza is from Uringen in the River Kingdoms, a town with half a foot in the Material Plan and half a foot in the First World. Her mother is a half-orc adventurer and her father is a half-elf alchemist, and her mother left her to be raised by her father but still visits occasionally. She's a bit shy and socially awkward, and while she doesn't have the best developed sense of morality she trends toward trying to do the right thing. She's trying to romance Kalikke.

Mary Rose is from Magnimar, Varisia. She was raised in a temple to Desna after she was abandoned there as a baby. She is the least developed character here, despite being my first Kingmaker character, which is why she had been "demoted" to General. I am planning on having her romance Varn.

So... despite making actual progress in Adia's Kingmaker game (just finished Betrayer's Flight!), I've started thinking about Liza/Reg and Octavia romance again. Liza broke up with them and then I basically immediately lost interest in her game, so I've backtracked to bookmark a save before the breakup in case I want to carry on with them.

I also made a new character at 1:30 am, Sabrina the LE aasimar Monk(/Sorc/Dragon Disciple) for. You know. All those Kingmaker games I actually finish.

Random Kingmaker ramblings:

Liza has officially moved from CN to CG. I'm apparently bad at playing CN in these games, this happened to Angelina in WotR too, lol.

Liza has officially broken up with Reg and Octavia and I'm setting my sights on Kalikke.

Liza's core party right now is Amiri, Regongar, Harrim, Octavia, and Kalikke. We are the chaos crew.

My brain is doing the thing it does when I play a game of assuming I'm going to play it more than I actually will and coming up with alternate playthroughs, despite having existing open ones still.

Adia, my NG tiefling Kineticist, I think I'll hold onto, even if I have to backtrack a little. I just like her as a character enough that I don't feel like deleting her saves even if I never actually finish her game.

Mary Rose, my (NG or CG I don't remember) tiefling Inquisitor of Desna I'm actually considering making the General for the DLC. She was my first character, but I didn't know much about Golarion lore back in 2018 so she's not well developed, but I still have a soft spot for her. But I'm unlikely to play her game in full, since Liza is filling the CG slot now. This does mean I probably will never actually romance Octavia, rip.

My brain is going, "okay, but what if you did a Lawful game to be different," and is theory crafting a LN (leaning LE) game of Delta, the aasimar Wizard or Wizard/Cleric of Asmodeus/Mystic Theurge. Her core party would be Valerie, Jaethal, Ekundayo, Tristian, and Kanerah. Basically, all the non-chaotic companions. I really do not need to start another new game right now, though.

This is my main problem with Kingmaker: restarting. I have over 100 hours in this game and I've never made it past Season of Bloom.

Adia is a Neutral Good, goody-two-shoes, but I like this song because it acknowledges that being good is hard, that it's a struggle sometimes, but it's worth doing in the end.

So... I reinstalled Kingmaker yesterday. I'm in a crpg mood but I realized I was getting bored of Wrath of the Righteous (I basically have the maps memorized). But I never beat Kingmaker, and it's still Pathfinder 1e so I don't have to come up to speed on mechanics.

But I started over since it'd been like two years since I last played, and this is my new character, Liza the half-orc Alchemist!

Ylizabel Ylvaris is a half-elf/half-orc from the town of Uringen in the River Kingdoms. Uringen is a town with strong connections to the First World and known for its alchemy. (I don't actually know if it features at all in the game or not.) She's the product of a one-night stand between an adventurer and an alchemist, and her mother left her to be raised by her father (she still visits occasionally). She's the cousin of my Azata Commander, Angelina.

She's Chaotic Neutral (though drifting toward Chaotic Good), curious, a little scatterbrained, enthusiastic for adventure, but a little shy. Her planned romance is Octavia (and maybe Reg, but definitely Octavia)!

I'm enjoying myself so far! I haven't had the emotional energy recently to pick up new games and learn new mechanics systems, but the fact this is still Pathfinder means there's not that hurdle. But I'm realizing how much my brain had been craving new stimulation and am having fun exploring wilderness maps again. I just got to the beginning of Act II and got my barony when I stopped last night. We'll see how long I stick with this, but right now I'm having fun!
