In celebration of the upcoming Barbie movie, I just want to take a moment to appreciate MY Barbie movie, the 1994 Barbie Birthday Party VHS tape at Epcot in Walt Disney World. (Here is a link to the video)

This VHS tape came with a barbie doll in celebration of Barbie’s birthday

This movie had banger after banger (it was literally 20 minutes of two girls screaming at each other but the PROPS! They had this bright pink phone that I so desperately wanted.) And the spaghetti scene! If you’ve seen this movie you understand the spaghetti scene!

She was my Princess Diana. I’m not even joking, I literally thought she was Princess Diana.

boyfriend wanted churros. we walked to a restaurant that purported to sell churros. the menu does not have churros. it has buñuelos. we bought the buñuelos. after quite a wait the buñuelos came out still raw in the center. i sent the buñuelos back (very apologetically) (boyfriend was willing to leave). the waitress eventually returned (also very apologetically). there was a problem with the fryer she said. it cannot cook the buñuelos. here are churros instead

Happy birthday, Barbie!

Barbie first hit shelves on March 9 1959, which means that as of today Barbie is 65 years old.

I'll give her this, she looks pretty good for her age.

There have been a number of Birthday Barbie releases over the years - the Birthday Wishes line, for one, which has had many variations over the years, as well as a variety of other birthday-themed dolls.

The oldest of these I can find is Happy Birthday Barbie from 1980, who has a very cute little ponytail.

Most of these releases over the years have been just Barbie in a party dress, but a few of them have included additional accessories such as cake or presents to make her day more exciting - such as Birthday Party Barbie from 1998.

Birthday Party Barbie also has pursed lips so she can blow out her candles, blow up her balloons, and blow her party favor horn. Which is an interesting mechanic for a Barbie. I don't really have a lot to say about it except that it opens up some dirty jokes which I, as a gentleman, will not make.

Of the Birthday Wishes line, my personal favourite is 2022. There's some real go big or go home energy about it.

Hell yeah Barbie. You deserve a giant ass bow.
