A long-term established romantic couple who are also best friends who just actually fucking like each other and have fun together!

Hot Boston Townie who offers you baking soda to drink!

Hawk, being Hawk, asserting his superiority and laughing at Spenser smelling like a fire!

Also Hawk, avoiding eye contact and not being able to appropriately modulate his tone or facial expressions because you don't actually have to learn to mask when you're a professional gunman!

So, tonight then Hijacked - Flight 285 from 1996. Cast: Susan Batten - Kim Paulsen James Brolin - Ron Showman Michael Gross - Ben Horner Anthony Michael Hall - Peter Cronin Perry King - Frank Leyton Casey Sander - Steve Paulsen Ally Sheedy - Deni Patton Barbara Stock - Veronica Mitchell and many more Story: Ruthless convicted murderer Peter Cronin (well played with lipsmacking wicked relish by Anthony Michael Hall) is being transported to prison on a commercial airliner. Trouble ensues when Cronin hijacks the plane and demands twenty million in bail bonds. It's up to FBI negotiator Deni Patton (a sturdy performance by Ally Sheedy) to keep things under control. Director Charles Correll, working from a compact script by David Peckinpah, keeps the enjoyable and engrossing story moving along at a snappy pace, generates a good deal of tension, and stages some exciting last reel action with skill and flair. The sound acting by the able cast helps a lot: Michael Gross as good-hearted disabled Vietnam veteran Ben Horner, Casey Sander as the brave Steve Paulsen, Barbara Stock as gutsy captain Veronica Mitchell, Perry King as hard-nosed fed Frank Layton, Hudson Leick as Cronin's loyal accomplice Shayna Loring, David Graf as an obnoxious cowardly drunk, and James Brolin as easygoing copilot Ron Showman. Moreover, Hall has a ball portraying a real evil and dangerous bad guy. Worth a watch. - by Woodyanders on IMDB (just corrected the name of Perry from Lang to King) Thoughts: We start with the preparations for the flight and introduction of all players in the game. They even had self made weapons in the 1990s. Never mind, with Cronin on board and escorted by two marshalls, the flight gets up to Dallas. After a short time, the two aides of him free him and hijack the plane. Cronin calls Layton at home and asks if he remembers him and surely he does. Cronin tells him what he's planned and therefore Layton calls Patton in to help since both have a history with Cronin and he knows them also well enough to know what they would do. Well, it takes a very long flight, some tricks from the passengers and pilot and a lot of convincing to get the man down, quite literally. Most of the passengers are just hurt and only one dead in the end. It's a good movie.

Oracle, over comm channel: They're armed.
Red robin, urgently in comm and with less then 2 hours of sleep over the past week: What was that? Armed? What do you mean armed? Armed with what?
Oracle, bored: Err, bad breath, colorful language, feather duster... what do you think they're gonna be armed with? Guns, you tit!
Edit: Now with fanfic

One of the things I love most about watching Perry Mason is seeing many character actors showing up multiple times. They had their own little stock company going on!
The episode I just watched, TCOT Betrayed Bride, had John Larkin (4 episodes), Neil Hamilton (7 episodes), Jacques Aubuchon (4 episodes), and Jeanette Nolan (6 episodes). I especially liked Jeanette Nolan in this episode because she got to be all glammed up. I've seen her in numerous episodes of Perry Mason and Gunsmoke and other shows where she's usually playing plain, drab, colorless overworked women. In this episode she's a wealthy widow given to flashy clothing and heavily made up eyes. A complete 180 from how I've usually seen her

But the real reason I love this episode so much is that Perry has to go to Paris on "business" and takes Della with him!♥️
Yes, I love romantic PerryDellaPaul but I also love romantic PerryDella getting up to all kinds of lovely things in Paris 💞

Hawk: I'm going to threaten you in public a little Spenser: uhhh. Hawk. This is my girlfriend. Susan. This is my ex husband Hawk: *extremely strained rictus grin* Susan: ??????

That is indeed the right question to ask, Suze
I'm rewatching the pilot of Spenser for Hire because I'm thinking about doing a little write up on the series and I just
I am DYING at how hilariously divorced Spenser and Hawk are in the pilot
Like, if you're watching this without knowledge of the rest of series (or the books), the pilot makes Hawk out to be this very dangerous man with a dark and troubled past, and Spenser to have known him for, essentially, crime reasons
But if you're watching knowing the characters it's just like. Okay. Spenser and Hawk were friends and worked together for years before the series but Hawk has been away for a while and clearly something has happened between them because like...
Tumblr media
THE TERSE GREETING. THE SUNGLASSES. THE ZOOM. THE GUY WHO HIRED SPENSER LOOKING AT BOTH OF THEM LIKE 'UHHHH'
And then the first thing Hawk says to Spenser, possibly for the first time in a few years, is basically just: AND YOUR CAR SUCKS

Love seeing ads for the pharmaceutical companies themselves (rather than ads for a particular drug or wtv) because you KNOW it's a pr effort after they got caught doing something truly heinous
