May I please request a one shot where Baldwin and the reader have a tiny baby girl and the baby made it very clear that Baldwin IV is her favourite, like when she’s crying the reader just hands her to Baldwin IV and she immediately stops crying and it makes him feel so special and happy❤️❤️❤️❤️

A/N: Hello Anon! Thank you for the request, I hope it's what you had in mind🩷! As always, this is based on the film Kingdom Of Heaven, not the real historical figures. Enjoy!
TW: Leprosy
It was a late summer evening when the daughter of Jerusalem was born. From the moment she opened her eyes, Ella was most definitely a daddy's girl.
To her, there was no comfort quite like the comfort she felt in Baldwin’s arms. Whenever the young girl cried, y/n would simply hand her over to the king and her cries would cease immediately.
It made him feel a kind of happiness that he had never experienced before. Pure, unwavering joy.
---------------------
One of many instances like this occurred not long after Ella was born. Just a month after in fact.
It was late at night when the king and queen were awoken by the familliour sound of their babies crying.
As requested by both of them after her birth, Ella’s crib remained in a separate room of the royal chambers that had been converted to a nursery so that they could keep an eye on her instead of a nanny or a maid.
Y/n sat up as the world came into view just as Baldwin did the same.
“Don't worry darling, I'll take this one. Just rest” Baldwin said, gesturing for his wife to lay back down.
She nodded and did so, but did not close her eyes until he was out of sight.
Entering the small room, Baldwin scooped the little child into his arms.
“Oh sweetheart, what’s the matter?” he said gently, taking a seat in the nursing chair that sat in the corner.
After a few moments, he concluded that her undergarments were clean and she didn't need to feed. Her cries were different to a “hungry cry”. They were sadder and more needy.
“You just missed your father didn't you?” Baldwin chuckled as he rocked the girl back and forth soothingly. Her cries immediately settled completely and it wasn't long before she was asleep in her fathers arms.
Not really willing to put her down too soon, just in case she woke again, Baldwin decided to hold her for a little longer.
A few minutes went by and the young king was growing tired again. He yawned softly, his eyes growing heavier by the second.
It wouldn't hurt to just close his eyes for a little, right? Pretty soon, Baldwin had dozed off with Ella still wrapped safely in his arms.
Back inside the royal bedchambers, y/n was growing concerned with her husband's whereabouts.
She had expected him to only be gone for a little, but it had been at least twenty minutes, judging by the moon's position that she had been staring at out of the glass balcony doors from her position on the bed.
She decided to go and check on them, just in case.
Y/n wasn't sure what she was expecting to see but she still felt a hint of surprise at seeing her “all powerful lord and king” husband fast asleep on a nursing chair with a tiny baby wrapped in his arms.
She smiled and leaned against the doorframe, taking a moment to admire the peaceful scene that lay before her.
She moved silently across the room to collect a blanket and draped it over her husband's sleeping form carefully, making sure to tuck Ella in as well.
Y/n pressed a soft kiss to Baldwin’s cheek. He didn't even shift. Seeing him like this was so incredibly precious to her. Not a king, nor a leper, but a father and a husband.
Taking one last look, y/n made her way back to bed with the beautiful image of her family remaining in her mind, where it would stay forever.

👑 King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem ✨
Finally, this monstrosity of a piece is done! 😅
I've been working on this off-and-on since February, probably the longest I've spent on any one piece, and I hope it shows.
This is my little tribute art to King Baldwin IV of Jerusalem as he is portrayed in the movie Kingdom of Heaven by Edward Norton.
He is accompanied by a peacock, a symbol of both early Christianity and of royalty, its white color representative of unique splendor. Alongside are bunches of white damask roses, also symbolic of Christianity as well as part of traditional medicine for skin conditions, among other ailments - appropriate, imo, for the illness that gave him the moniker "The Leper King".
The Latin text around the border, inspired by his real life royal seal, reads "Balduinus IV - By the Grace of God - King of Jerusalem".

I had the cutest idea for a request! Imagine reader being very good at a game similar to badminton. She often plays with Baldwin's sister when she comes over and upon noticing that he is looking at them play, she asks him to join her for the next match and teaches him how to play just like he taught her how to play chess. Husband and wife bonding time <3

A/N: Hello Anon! Thank you for your request, I hope its what you had in mind 🫶. Also guys MASSIVE HISTORICAL INACCURACY incoming with the game Battledore, it was made in the 18th century but it was the only medevil game I could find that matched the description. As always, this is based on the film Kingdom Of Heaven, not the real historical figures. Enjoy!
P.S: Thank you to @arislukewarmiced-coffee for coming up with the name for this fic 🩷
TW: Leprosy
It was a warm summer afternoon in Jerusalem. The scorching sun had dipped below the horizon line, bathing the kingdom in a calm orange glow.
In the courtyard, Princess Sybilla and queen y/n enjoyed the evening together, locked in a game of Battledore.
The game was simple, a handheld wooden paddle used to hit a shuttlecock back and forth between the players.
Y/n had played this game all throughout her childhood and had become quite skilled. Upon seeing her play on her own, Sybilla had asked to join and it quickly became a fun pastime for the two.
Often, Baldwin was too busy of an evening to watch their games but when he did, he watched with the utmost enthusiasm.
The activity intrigued him.
He was used to games of the mind, like chess. This was far different, much more physical and high spirited. As much as he wanted to join them, he assumed that his disease would make it near impossible to enjoy such physical fun.
This particular night, Baldwin was not busy. He had finished with his duties for the day and would soon retire to his bed. But not before seeing his sister and wife.
As usual, he found them in the courtyard, hitting the shuttle back and forth, talking and laughing.
Baldwin took a moment to admire his wife from afar. Her hair shone in the setting sun and her smile was so radiantly beautiful, it left him in awe.
Upon the shuttle being hit further away than Sybilla could reach with the paddle, the princess went to retrieve it.
As y/n put her head up to stretch, she noticed Baldwin watching from a distance, leant against a stone pillar.
The metal of his silver mask twinkled in the light, making it look as if it was covered in sparkles. Y/n grinned and waved to her husband, beckoning him closer.
Baldwin smiled and approached as Sybilla returned with the shuttle.
“Hello my love” y/n said joyfully, kissing her husband on his masked cheek.
“Would you like to join us for a game darling? I have an extra paddle?” she asked with a smile.
“I don't think that's a very good idea” Baldwin replied sheepishly.
“Why's that?” Sybilla chimed in.
“Well it might not be very good for my health is all-” the young king started before y/n cut him off.
“Oh come on sweetheart, I see you watching us all the time, I hate seeing you just standing there. Please play with us? I could teach you, like how you taught me to play chess?” y/n pleaded.
Baldwin sighed. He couldn't deny the months of longing to be included.
“How do you play?” he asked.
Y/n grinned and so did Sybilla.
-----------------------
After a few minutes of explaining and a couple of practice tries, the three of them were playing happily.
Hitting the shuttle back and forth to each other, joking and giggling happily under the setting sun.
Baldwin's body didn't even ache once. In fact, he felt brilliant and despite the lack of feeling in his hands, he could actually play really well.
They played until it was dark out and before leaving to go inside, they vowed to play the following night as well.
And this time, they would have a third player.

@bogbutteronmycroissant its the dream honestly 😍🥰
Flash warning ⚠️
What I would give for a King Baldwin appearance in an Assassin’s Creed game 🧎🏼‍♀️
Ik AC1 is set in 1191 so in order to meet him it would have to be in some kind of prequel 🥺

The seal of King Baldwin IV (1161-1185, crowned 1174)
The left part of the seal says: Balduinus Dei Gracia rex Ierusalem. Which means: Balduin, by the grace of God King of Jerusalem.
The right part of the seal says: Civitas regis regum omnium. Which means: The city of the king of kings.

Cochem-Kreisstadt in Rheinland-Pfalz
Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Jahrhunderts ein. i know him personally and he said its ok
When something gains more fame, it inevitably brings low-quality public. It disgusts me how King Baldwin IV is disrespected by shipping him with an Oc who doesn't even behave like in the Middle Ages. I'm not against shipping as long as it makes sense, besides Baldwin IV is a real person, how the hell can you create in your disturbing fantasy having sexual relations with him like orgies (he is a Christian and sick with leprosy). At least respect his memory.
