I have no stance on this' probing of it all (that should be the giveaway in itself, really, in hindsight I think real varric would be a lot more freaked out on rook's behalf about this even if he might still have reached the conclusion that the connection to solas was worth the risk, he's got kirkwall blood magic trauma to fill a telephone catalogue). that and the '>:) then I see you've made a choice (so this is basically a little bit on you now, you got fairly outsmarted etc., I don't have to feel as guilty thank you for having youthful hubris that will be your undoing so I can feel less bad about my role in it). honestly if anything I'm doubling down on my previous 'mind!varric is directly controlled by solas the majority of the time and rook's mind is mostly a collaborateur' post. this conversation is transparently solas gathering intel and giving you the 101 on leadership while you're building a small focused rebel force.

in solas' defense... this whole situation is very very funny in an extremely dark kind of way he is nothing if not on brand. the stuff he says about himself in this conversation is like. he's both reading himself for filth AND he can't read all of a sudden he can't uh......... he has plenty of self-insight (a single flower with blackened petals) and it helps him exactly not at all in breaking his patterns lmao

also it makes the relationship between solas and rook so. so much. what an insane intimacy in grieving for someone so much you both conspire to raise him from the dead together, just for a little while, because neither of you can bear to let go. what a violation in being the only knowing party in that. solas can hear rook following through on relaying his apology to 'varric' no matter what else they think of him. and he still does what he does to them in the end. he's feeding them affection (some of it even real eventually, I think, he clearly respects rook as a pure agent of chaos on some level and has some incredulous amused fondness for them no matter how you end up in your relationship with him) and confidence with one hand, and readying a knife in the other the whole time. solas my love my friend my genuine darling I think I will have to strangle you unfortunately

"In the spiritual realm, there are specific steps a being can take to ascend to the status of a god, with certain restrictions defining what a god truly is. This means that even if a being is incredibly powerful, like Clockwork, they must be worshipped by someone to attain godhood. So...

In the Infinite Realms, time operates differently than in the outside world. I believe that since the Realms exist beyond space and existence, serving as the cosmic glue holding the multiverse together, they remain separate from the flow of time.

So, my idea is this: Danny is already immensely powerful, as he embodies the balance between life and death. Because of his connection to Clockwork, this being occasionally sends him on time-traveling missions, perhaps for preparations related to kingship. As a result, he appears in various places throughout history, safeguarding people and cultures. Over the centuries and millennia, people begin to worship him, seeking blessings and offering sacrifices.

Usually, this would lead the Justice League to believe that he's simply a very old being. However, what if he truly is ancient?

As I mentioned earlier, a god's powers are derived from belief, and this belief gradually transforms the deity. Here's my take:

Batman might insist, "I know you're Danny Fenton," until a summons or a crisis causes Danny's godly side to surface. This aspect of him is truly ancient, as time doesn't flow conventionally in the Infinite Realms. Consequently, Danny could be three years old in terms of his death, yet also an ancient entity. Nonetheless, he remains physically too young to fully comprehend his true power and existence, resulting in considerable confusion.

Ultimately, there are two interpretations:

The Justice League ends up believing that Danny is either a) a vessel for a god, b) a sort of priest, or c) the physical incarnation of a bored god curious about experiencing humanity.

Ghosts do not treat him like a typical ghost child because, due to the nonlinear nature of time in the Zone, his core possesses the essence of an ancient being. The ghosts perceive him as the rebirth of balance, incarnated as a human to restore equilibrium.

Feel free to use this concept for any story or interpretation you find compelling."

Just wanted to mention that I won an award at work today! It was an award for employees and I received it as a member of a team, but also for my own work. We got an e-mail about it a month ago, and I was so surprised that I was sure it had to be a mistake, but I'm very happy to say that it wasn't.

(Though as lovely as this award is, nothing has meant more than talking to one of my clients last week and having her say to me that I seem to be such a happy, warm person and that whenever she sees me, I am smiling and that she felt a sense of "lightness" inside after our chat. I'll take that over every award in the world any day of the week...)

Jokes aside, I really do like what they did with Agatha and Rio all the way through. They really are antagonists; Rio’s trying to do her job, fulfill the function of nature’s balance, and Agatha’s whole deal is to outrun her like the wind. Immortality, power, a refusal to play by the rules is Agatha’s MO, and here comes Death, falling in love with her.

Death, whom Agatha assists time and time again by killing everyone she comes into contact with—and who blames her still, for taking her child, even though Rio fully broke her own rules by giving him a number of years in the first place—and who still believes she’s better than dying, despite it all. And of course, in a way, she is! Death is in love with her! She’s in love with Death! That in itself is balance, and it throws the whole system desperately out of wack at the same time, because how do you love Death and still prioritize immortality so much that you’d give anything, sacrifice anyone, to keep running? For centuries! They’ve been doing this dance for centuries! This is the one person Agatha can’t con, can’t steal from, and still! Of course! Of course she still manages to pull a fast one, because Death has fallen in love with the ultimate con woman. Because they are, in a way, equal and opposite, balanced and forever unstable. Because Death cannot stop for love, not even for you, Agatha Harkness. Death cannot stop for love, but she can maybe run a little slower. And, when she catches you, she can perhaps turn her head from the life she’s made bloom out of your bones…and let you slip free one last time.

thinking of figure skater zoro teaching hockey player sanji some of the lifts they do in pairs skating.

sanji is not used to the skates for figure skating. zoro ties them for him even if he threatens to kick him in the chest when he does so. zoro is on one knee, his face scrunched up in concentration, and sanji just stares at him. committing the way zoro ties his laces for him to memory. not because he wants to learn how. but because zoro's hands have their own beauty – a quiet strength that is fully realized when on ice.

zoro of course jokes that sanji is lighter and easier to toss than nami. sanji flips him off and threatens to leave. he doesn't. empty threats in an empty rink. because zoro teaches him with a care he didn't think he was capable of. he's seen zoro lift nami in the air like it was nothing. but to experience it himself, a little wobbly, a little unstable. but it's a beautiful view from above.

he wonders if nami tries not to cry too when she's up this high. he wonders if nami also thinks about the large hands that wrap around her waist when zoro catches her. he wonders if that same hand that holds hers as they glide across the ice has always been this warm.

sanji would stand at the side of the rink during a break. zoro barely takes them. sanji needs one every 5 minutes. hockey instincts, you know. there's a penalty every half hour. but zoro doesn't stop. he practices his axels, his jumps, his step sequences. sanji can almost imagine nami skating next to him, completing the routine.

what sanji doesn't admit out loud is that he imagines himself next to zoro instead. he feels the burn linger from zoro's fingers on his waist. the cool wind on his face, the shaved ice from their skates sticking to his hair, the smile on zoro's face when they've perfected a combo.

what sanji doesn't know is that zoro imagines it too.
