All In Your Head
Tumblr media
-Mairimashita! Iruma-Kun! X Reader [Gender Neutral]-
Words: 1,985
Summary: The reader is hit by a hallucination spell when fighting Netherworld beasts. When the reader's eyes land on other demons they can't help but mutter out apologies. Apologies for something that never really happened.
Quick note! This takes place when Opera and the others are attending Babyls!
Posted this on my AO3 as well!
Tumblr media
Staring at the bodies in front of you, you couldn't move. How could you? Your breathing became irregular as you began to cry. Falling to your knees you sobbed their names out, apologizing for what you had done.
Kalego, Shichiro, and Opera. Their names left your mouth as you screamed out apology after apology. How could you!?? Your eyes stayed lingering on Opera, your heart felt like it had cracked into billions of pieces.
You didn't remember what had happened, you only really remember coming into the woods for your daily beast slaying. Did they somehow fall victim to your attacks? They had to, their bodies were all cut up in various ways. Your weapon was thrown a few feet beside you.
But why couldn't you remember? It's not like you normally blacked out. Was this maybe the beast doing? Maybe you were hit with an attack that made your memory fuzzy.
You heard a quiet chirp. Staring ahead you found that Kalego was never really Kalego. It was some type of Netherland beast. Standing up you made your way to it. It has reverted back to its original form as it cried out in misery.
Your eyes were empty and cold as you stood over it. Now that you calmed down slightly you noticed how the blood around you was not red, it was a purple-ish one. Your mind raced back to something you were learning back in Babyls.
Looking over the creature carefully you determined it was a type of bird species. While this certain species, the male birds were able to shape-shift while the female birds sprayed sometype of magic.
Rage filled you, how could you be so stupid? It was never real, you never really killed them. It was just a dumb trick, the damn bird had gotten the best of you.
Even though it was all in your head, you couldn't stop yourself from mumbling out apologies. Ghosting your foot over the bird's neck, you cried harder. Stomping your foot on it repeatedly your apologies were muffled put by the bird's own cries.
After a while it stopped but you continued, trying to get your sadness out. When you finally stopped you went to pick up your weapon. Using your bloodline magic you made it disappear into thin air. It was the weekend so the only place you had to go was home.
Your legs just started to move on their own as your blood-soaked clothes just stuck to your skin. Finally, you had made it home, it was deadly silent.
"Dad must not be home yet..." You thought as you made your way to your room. You entered your own bathroom in your room soon after. Stripping off your clothes you just threw them on the floor.
Turning on the shower you didn't even give it a moment to get warm and just got in. The flakes of blood fell off of you and fell into the drain below.
You couldn't go to school tomorrow. You just couldn't, if you were to see any of them you were sure you would just break down crying.
It was all in your head, you kept telling yourself. It wasn't real it was all just some animal's magic, it was going to be alright.
The shower water only merged with your tears, hiding them as if they weren't even there.
After showering you got out, grabbing a towel that was convincingly there. Picking up your clothes you just threw them away. Quickly brushing your teeth you then made your way to your closet where you picked out your sleeping clothes like normal. Brushed your hair like normal. Laying on your bed you realized you were crying the whole time.
Was this part of that bird's spell? The thought made you angry. You had only seen those 3 male birds, if you were really put under a spell there must have been another one of those disgusting creatures. You vowed to yourself that you would kill every last one of them.
Allowing your eyes to close you fell asleep.
....
You were currently eating breakfast as you had already woken up and gotten ready. You didn't really have the energy to do anything, you didn't even want to wake up. Your father had walked in, turning into his usual egg-like form as he began to shower you in kisses. You would normally laugh or try to push him away but today you just let it happen.
Sullivan found it strange as you hadn't muttered a single word. He called out your name a few times only to have to shake you to get your attention. He noticed how you kept your head low, staring down. Pushing back your chair to get up caused him to back up slightly.
"Y/N sweetheart? Is something the matter? why won't you talk to me!" He cried
You didn't even look at him as you grabbed your school bag and began to make your way to the door. Just about when you reached the front door he put a hand on your shoulder stopping you from moving any forward.
"Ignoring your father is no way to treat me, unacceptable!"
This whole time you had kept your head down not daring to look up at him, well that's what he was thinking. The whole incident with the stupid birds triggered something in your head. For some reason you saw your own father laying down on the floor, his eyes cold and empty as blood surrounded him. You thought you were looking at him the entire time, it was all in your head.
You shoved his hand away and made your way out of the mansion. Leaving Sullivan in shock. He knew something was wrong, were you on your evil cycle? No, you didn't normally act this way when you were. His eyes stayed on you until your figure was nowhere to be seen.
When you finally arrived at school eyes were all on you. By being the honor student it was normal to get this type of attention. Your father had practically made you into a celebrity. The girls and the boys would always whisper about how good-looking you were as you walked passed them.
Making your way to homeroom your hands began to shake slightly as you swallowed a lump in your throat. You shared homeroom with Opera. Currently, as you were walking to your class, your eyes were still glued to the ground and you wanted to cry.
Seeing all these "dead" people was unbearable. In truth, if you got close enough you heard them talking as if they were still alive. That was the only thing keeping your sanity together. You knew it was all in your head, a trick, but for some reason, you thought it was your fault.
As you opened the door to your homeroom class you quickly made your way to your seat. After a few minutes, homeroom had begun. Your teacher began to call names for attendance. Your name was called out once, then twice.
You felt a tap on your shoulder, turning your head slightly you heard the body of the girl next to you speak.
"Say...yo...her..." (Say you're here)
Your name was called out again, opening your mouth it was quickly closed as you felt a presence next to you.
"They're here."
This voice was much more recognizable than the last. Much clearer and easy to hear. You felt a finger poke your cheek. Flinching at the feeling you heard a quiet laugh. You knew it was Opera, your eyes threatened to release the tears you were holding in.
"What's up with you?" The poking action was repeated. The voice you heard was becoming less recognizable as you heard a ringing sound in your ear. "Did I do something to upse.." The voice drowned out in your ear. At some point, the poking stopped.
After a while, you saw how the bodies began to crawl towards the classroom door. Getting up you began to leave. Only for you to be slightly held down. Meeting eyes with Opera you were still looking down. Finally looking at their dead eyes you began to cry again, apology after apology you sobbed.
"Why are you crying?" They spoke in disbelief. You were always a happy person, nothing really ever got the best of you. "Why won't you talk to me? Did I say something you didn't like? I'm sorry if I did."
Hearing Opera apologize to you made you ball your fists. "No, it's my fault you shouldn't apologise." You sobbed. "Please stop looking at me like that! I already said I'm sorry!" You screamed. Your voice echoes in the empty classroom.
Opera furrowed their brows. Was their concerned gaze upsetting you? But they did notice how not once you had looked at them dead in the eyes. They were confused.
Saying one last sorry you shoved past them and made your way to the door leaving Opera speechless. As you closed the door you began to head to your first class of the day. Luckily it was not far so you would still be able to make it in time.
"Y/N!"
You recognized that voice, clear as day. "Shichiro!" You yelled out happily. He had embraced you in a tight hug. Though when you saw him, his eyes were also cold and empty. "Oh" was all you could think. Your smile turned into a thin line making Shichiro send you a questionable look.
"Ugh let go of her you big animal." Kalego huffed. "Come on Y/N let's walk to class together." He said as he continued to walk. He didn't look back to see if you were following him.
Shichiro noticed your hesitation. "Ar....you....alright?" (Are you alright?) His voice beginning to drown out in your ears as well.
Placing your hands over your ears you stopped thinking for a second. You took deep breaths as you tried to calm yourself down. "I'm sorry I'm not feeling well."
"Do...yo...nee...the...urse?" (Do you need the nurse?) Shichiro asked
"No I don't need the nurse, I just need to talk to my father. Don't worry about me I'll be fine. You guys go ahead I wouldn't want you to be late." Walking away quickly you made your way to your father's office.
You knocked on the door before heading in. As soon as you stepped in your father jumped up from his seat excited to see you.
"Ah! Y/N! How nice of you to come to see me! Did you get lonely without me?" He chuckled as he hugged you tight. "Don't worry about class! How about you stay here with me and keep me company from all these papers I have to sign!"
Looking down at you he halted from speaking. Pushing you off of him just a bit he noticed the tears in your eyes. His hands trembled slightly as he freaked out. "Hey, what's wrong! Is it something to do with what happened this morning?"
Hugging him again you held him tightly. Your quiet sniffles fill the room. "Dad I want to go home. I don't want to be here anymore."
"Of course but you have to tell me what's wrong. Did someone hurt you in any way?" He asked, his tone changed. He was talking much more gently so as to not scare you away.
"Dad...I...don't know what to do. I can't face anyone."
"What do you mean?"
You stayed silent. You didn't mean to but you did. From the moment you walked into his office, you couldn't hear anything. Not even the ringing sound from earlier. It scared you truly.
The embrace with your father only radiated a slight warmth. But it wasn't enough. Would you stay like this forever? The thought of it scared you. "Why can't I hear you, dad? Please just take me home.." You whispered, your voice trembling with every word you spoke out loud.

Nesting (Balam Shichirou x femhuman!reader)
Main Masterlist
Summary: When your demon lover, Shichirou, begins acting oddly—more protective, more possessive, and increasingly distant—you are left bewildered and heartbroken. Once inseparable, his constant rejection of your affection stings deeply, leading to emotional confrontations and a growing sense of insecurity.
As tensions rise, a startling revelation changes everything.
You blinked in surprise at the demon before you, confusion written obviously on your face from your scrunched together eyebrows and slightly opened mouth.
It was true that Shichirou had been acting odd lately, but this wasn’t why you had thought so. He was far more touchy than usual, which you hadn’t thought possible and were now being proven wrong. A hand almost always laid upon your shoulder or held around your waist — clawed fingers curled around your stomach — no matter that he had to practically bend in half to be able to do it. His body was guaranteed to be wrapped around you during down times and almost certainly snuggled around you when you went to bed. Large, feathered wings carefully covering your body and hiding you away from the world as you lay wrapped securely in his arms.
Your normally sweet teddy bear of a lover had also gained an attitude lately towards other demons lately. While he was still kind and touchy feely with the students and younger family members that occasionally visited their siblings, he had gotten territorial in regards to your co-workers and even downright hostile to other unknown demons that crossed your path when you went out shopping together with Iruma or to just explore other places in the Netherworld. Exploring that he recently has been denying you, stating that it was too dangerous which had culminated in a fair few fights at this point. You hadn’t appreciated being treated like a wayward child who couldn’t protect themselves and his sudden aggression and overprotection was getting on your nerves.
After an almost two full months of this treatment—you seriously praised your patience with him that was a testament to how much you loved the white gargoyle despite his current attitude. When the latest fight correlated to the words — “I can’t help how my biology reacts, I don’t understand how you can be so blasé about this!”  — your brain suddenly caught on to what, it thought, was happening, and it left you feeling horrible.
The attitude, the territorial-ness, and overprotection combined with his increased skinship were all startingly similar to how he had been acting in his pre-rut a few months ago. A wince hit your face as you berated yourself, after all how could you have forgotten so soon? While you were certain that the book you had read said gargoyle demons hit their ruts once every few years, it made a certain amount of sense that a newly mated one would perhaps have it more often, in an attempt to get their new mate pregnant and carry on their lineage sooner.
You softened suddenly in front of him, all fight leaving you as you grabbed one of his large hands with your smaller ones and lifted it so that it would cradle the side of your face. Nuzzling into the scaled flesh you apologized for not understanding sooner. After all being a slave to one’s biology was nothing new to you, no matter how often humans often tried to fight it, and you could only imagine how much it would distress you if humans still had heats and ruts like their ancestors did. Briefly your minded drifted to the omegaverse that had been such a popular trope in the fanfics you had liked to read. The absolute chaos of it that usually happened in those stories would probably have driven you insane.
You couldn’t imagine how it must be to actually experience it rather than have it regulated to fictional characters that didn’t exist. It must have been awful dealing with all of those rampaging hormones and to lose control of your own body like that. With this thought in mind, you made a decision. If he wouldn’t initiate this rut for fear of hurting you, then you would.
The day after this decision you woke bright and early, a happy thrumming going through your veins and a shiver down your spine at what you imagined the next few days were going to bring you.
You bit your lip as the thoughts started to overwhelm you before shaking your head it clear it. You had a job to do and only the day to do it. You quickly wrote out a very long grocery list, including lots of fruits and high protein jerkies that could be eaten quickly in the low periods so that energies could be kept high. You thought about it for a minute before throwing a couple of different candies on the list that left you salivating, before giving it to Shichirou with a smile and a kiss before shooing him off. Your efforts received a raised eyebrow in response, but you simply claimed a craving before wandering away again.
Now came the hardest part of your plan.
You stood just inside the door of your shared bedroom, surveying where everything stood with a critical eye. Tilting you eye this way and that you vaguely tried to remember the way Shichirou had set it up. You wanted something similar since it had been so secured and comfortable, but you weren’t certain how to achieve it.
Shichirou’s normally made nest was an amalgamation of twigs, vines, branches, and even strands of both your hair woven into a giant circle, much like a bird’s nest would be. When you started sleeping over in your courtship phase, he added a custom-made circular mattress to fit inside along with several blankets, quilts, pillows – anything soft and comfortable that he thought could add to your pleasure.
When he was in a pre-rut, he truly decked it out with the softest furs, silk, and anything he could find that suggested both wealth and comfort to try and impress you. Since the end of the rut though you had insisted, they go in a closet, to preserve them for a later use, that had apparently come sooner than you thought it would.
With a reaffirming nod you stalked into the room and started pulling the nest apart. The structure itself was fine, but the placement of everything inside of it rankled you for some odd reason and you were determined to make it right. Once the mattress had been striped of every blanket and pillow on it, divided into piles of each type of item, you proceeded to take out the items that were truly luxurious and oh so perfect in your mind, before also separating them into the already made piles. You were determined to somehow incorporate every single piece, to make the perfect nest for you two to use later on that night.
Even without an image in mind you started you reconstruction carefully, laying each piece just so, moving them repeatedly until you found their perfect place. When Shichirou later returned, groceries bought and put away, it was to the sight of you muttering to yourself about why the nest didn’t feel perfect yet. You couldn’t figure out what was missing and by this point it was like you possessed by the need of a perfect nest.
When he entered the room further, initially intending to help you, he hadn’t made it one step before a low guttural growl left your throat unconsciously, followed by your head turning and jaws snapping at his presence neared your unfinished product. His eyes widened at the territorial display you were posing, taking a slight step back before kneeling before you. Instinct causing his back to bow and wings spread wide before you to show he wasn’t a threat.
Tilting your head as you observed the display, your eyes immediately caught the glinting of the light off the feathers running across his beautiful black wings in contrast to pale skin and the stark whiteness of his hair. Entranced you walked forward, hand lightly brushing through the feathers, feeling the softness before your eyes dropped to the boa wrapped around the collar of his neck.
This. This is what you had been missing from the nest. Pieces of him. A constant reminder of him surrounding you from both above and below. You kneeled before him, the back of your hands brushing against his cheek before going further back to seemingly wrap around his neck as you kissed his mask. The metal stark cold against your warm lips as your fingers worked a bit to unclip the fur before lifting above his head. With a giggle at the confusion on his face, you quickly stole the fur from around his hips as well before telling him to stay there, running the fur pieces back to the nest, laying and stretching them out on the side that you typically slept on before rushing back breathlessly and making your big ask.
He stared down into your eyes with knowing amusement at your actions, seeming to understand what exactly was happening without being told. In a rush of words, you requested some of his feathers, specifically the soft downy ones that grew closer to his back and lacked any rachis or barbules that made up the stiffer ones that covered the majority of his wings.
He didn’t even hesitate to move his wings to the ground before the vines growing up the wall shot out and wrapped around the base of the feathers. Your senses and mind came back to you at the sight, “Wait, what are you—”
You never got finish your sentence as a majority of the down feathers were ripped out without even a flinch, despite the beads of blood that were starting to well up in their place. Your hand flew to your mouth at the sight, tears welling up as the vines carefully deposited the feathers into his hands so that he could offer them up to you. You ignored them however as you quickly whipped off your top and moved to lean over him to put pressure on the spot.
“I meant the loose ones, not to mutilate yourself,” you hissed at him. He shoulders moved slightly at your words, accompanied by another hiss from you, “Do not shrug at me about this! You could have done serious damage to yourself, Balam Shichirou!”
“How could I not give to my beloved mate one of the few things she desires? A few feathers that grow back quickly are an easier sacrifice to make you happy than you think.” His voice rumbled out, not the least bit apologetic about his actions as he gently pushed you away while standing up, slowly directing you back to the nest. “Now,” he said as he once more offered up the soft feathers, “where do you want these?”
The notion would have been sweet if you weren’t going to strangle him with his own vines.
The urge to strangle him rose higher later that night.
After dinner you had grabbed some of the jerky and fruits ranging from bloodberries — aptly named strawberry looking fruit that were as red as fresh blood — to a bowl of what looked like a deep truly purple version of grapes. Grabbing a bag of what looked like skittles but tasted more like chocolate truffles on your way back out, arranging them nicely along the edges of the frame of the nest.
When Shichirou joined you after a few moments, you proudly displayed your finished nest before him, even managing to lure him in for a snuggle that slowly developed into kisses and light touches before he drew away as your hand brushed along his hardening crotch, citing that he didn’t want to go further tonight. You pouted but eased up, if he wasn’t ready to start his rut then he wasn’t ready, and you could respect that.
Your irritation and turmoil however had soon reached its peak. Every attempt at discussing Shichirou's behaviour or attempting to lure him into bed to relieve him sexually seemed to end in frustration and more confusion on your end. The nights he consistently rejected your advances, he still held you close, his breath hot against your neck, you felt his tension in every muscle he had. His body, once a source of warmth and comfort with his arms and wings wrapped securely around you, was now constricting and suffocating.
You had never felt the urge to cry so much in his presence before.
One evening, after another round of Shichirou’s insistence that he couldn’t dare lay with you in such a way now due to his fear of hurting you, you finally decided you had enough. You moved from your nest and planted yourself firmly in front of him, hands on your hips, refusing to budge until you had answers. "Shichirou," you began, voice steady despite the chaos of emotions and thoughts whirling inside you, "we really need to talk."
His eyes, a mesmerizing mix of greys and whites that surrounded a pitch-black pupil, that once had enchanted you, met yours with a look of apprehension, body curling in on itself as if to make him smaller. Lately those words were often followed by a fight, something you both tried to avoid by nature and yet seemed unable to in these past weeks. "What is it?" he asked, his voice a low rumble, anxiety making itself known, mentally preparing himself for another verbal sparring match.
"What's going on with you? You've been acting so strange, and it's driving me crazy," you said, the words tumbling out in a rush. "I thought that you were entering another rut, but this is the fifth time you rejected me when usually you can’t wait to get your hands on me since the first one. I can't keep living like this! I feel like I’m walking on eggshells, not knowing what's happening." You took a shuttering breath, tears gathering in your eyes that you violently wiped away, Shichirou’s chirps of alarm as your displeasure made itself known in the form of angry crying. “Am I not good enough for you now? Do you know how terrible it makes me feel every time you deny the touch of my body where before you couldn’t seem to get enough? Do...do you not want me anymore?”
Speaking those words seemed to break the dam as you fell to your knees and broke into guttural sobs of at the thought, that despite his seemingly over-territorial actions he had made every day, there was every possibility that he was starting to no longer have a romantic interest in you. Where there once was a loving relationship may have turned into him simply protecting one of the few humans in the Netherworld, a source of one of his obsessions that he couldn’t give up even if he was no longer truly interested in you personally.
A startled squawk left him, and you felt him kneel before you, thighs hitting the ground with a heavy thunk. Could feel the air move as his hands reached around you, wrapping around your back and pulling you into his lap. One hand gently wrapped itself in your hair, sharp claws being careful not to cut any strands as they forced your head onto his chest, the other one rubbed and down your back.
With your ear resting perfectly above his heart, a vibration started rumbling out of his chest that you could barely hear over your crying but could feel, as your whole body started to move in tune with it. His arms lifted you slightly as he readjusted himself so that he was sitting with criss-crossed legs before letting you down into his lap. A sudden whoosh sound was accompanied by a lack of light vaguely entered your senses, his wings had come out and encircled the both of you, hiding the view of your shuttering body from the rest of the world.
A clanking of metal hitting the ground was heard before his head lowered to bury his face in the hair on top of your head, a purring sound now accompanying the vibrations that came from his chest over the sounds of your sobbing.
Slowly, your crying stifled to sniffles and your breathing started to come under control to match his more relaxed one. As his nose continued nuzzling into your hair and large clawed hands went on with the calming ministrations, your hands came up to wipe the last of your tears away as your harsh breathing finally evened out again.
You felt exhausted with a headache forming and small shivers wracking your body on occasion as a result on your sob fest. It embarrassed you had lost your cool like that, but you were just so tired while at the same time being consumed by so many emotions that it only exhausted you further. It had only been a matter of time before you broke.
With a soft sigh you asked the last dreaded question you had, “At this point it feels like you don’t even want me, don’t love me, anymore. Like you just see me as some human to protect from the Netherworld rather than your lover. Did I do something wrong?”
His eyes widened, jaw slacking at your words before quickly scrambling to reassure you. "No, it's not that, it won’t ever be that. I could never not want you," he admitted, his voice insistent yet softer now, “You’re my mate. My heart and soul, the better half as you humans say. I love you with every fibre of my being and would gladly die before ever having to live in a world without you in it.” His head shook, silver hair flashing about with the movement, his body shivering at the very thought of it. "No, it wasn’t because of anything even close you doing something wrong. If anything, it's because I love you so much with the gifts you have given me. Most recently especially, as you're carrying my youngling."
Your eyebrows narrowed in confusion, as your brain tried to process the information he was passing on. You knew that younglings were, as implied, young demons, the oldest of which were in what was the Netherworld’s version of their first couple years of elementary school. The youngest of that group were infants and…embryos.  The world seemed to tilt on its axis as his words sunk in. Pregnant? You?
The pieces of the puzzle fell into place—his protective behaviour, his constant need to touch you, his refusal to let you out of his sight. It all made sense now. "How... how do you know?" you asked, your hand unconsciously moving to your stomach, finally noticing the small bump protruding from it.
You hadn’t even truly noticed the swelling of your stomach, chalking up your pants slowly not fitting due to the almost sedentary lifestyle Shichirou had forced you into over the course of the past few months. You had never even noticed the swelling of your breasts accompanying it, or how you hadn’t experienced your monthly.  Far too focused on Shichirou’s newly found actions.
"Your pheromones," he replied with a small chuckle, pulling you even closer to him. "I can smell the change in your scent. What is normally a woodsy musk became sweetened like milk and pastries a couple of weeks after the rut. I didn’t realize what it meant until I met with a student’s mother who was carrying their own youngling, though much further along, that had the same cloying scent stuck to them. I didn’t tell you because I assumed you knew. Demonesses and their partners can often tell a few weeks in – by the end of the first month at the latest. I’ve known for a while now and it never occurred to me that humans might not have the same skill."
Tears welled up in your eyes again as you processed the revelation. Shichirou pulled you further into his arms, holding you tightly. "I'm sorry for making you worry," he murmured against your hair. "I just wanted to protect you and our youngling."
You hugged him back, feeling a mix of relief and excitement wash over you, a disbelieving laugh that bordered hysterical left you. "I wish you had told me sooner," you said, your voice muffled against his chest. "But I understand your actions now, and I’m sorry I wasn’t more understanding earlier."
He shook his again, musing up your hair in the process, “No, I should have thought of the fact that humans faced gestation periods differently than demon-kind and approached you about it. You act so much like a demon sometimes that it’s easy to forget you weren’t born one of us.”
“Let’s just agree we were both wrong and move on,” you mumbled.
You settled back in against his chest, snuggling against the warm flesh under his shirt and enjoying the feeling of his arms circled around you before a sudden thought crossed your brain.
“Oh, by the way,” you called to him as you booped the tip of his nose for attention. A light hum and wrinkling of the appendage was your answer. “While I understand your fears, you’re going to have to get over it. Preferably soon.”
He blinked, eyebrows narrowing in confusion at your words before widening again, “I understand. I was a little zealous in protecting you and I’ll try to do better in letting you do your own thing. Though I can’t guarantee I’ll be able to ignore all of my instincts especially with how dangerous—”
“While I appreciate that,” you interrupted him, already knowing he was going to go on a long spiel about the dangers of the Netherworld again, which at this point you could mouth along to word for word. “I actually wasn’t referring to it.” His head tilted like a bird, eyebrows stitching together once more as he tried to think of what you had actually meant.
“Sex, darling.” You declared casually as could be while he visibly startled at your words, a fierce flush spreading across his cheeks to the tip of his ears. “It is a well-known fact among my kind that human females often get extremely horny throughout and especially towards the beginning of their pregnancy.” You shifted in his lap so that you were kneeling in-between his legs, arms looping around his neck to bring his blushing face closer to your own.
“And I propose that we start right now. After all you have a lot of making up to do on that front.” With the plush of his lips pressing against your own, you couldn’t help but sigh up into his mouth at the familiar feeling of his hands lightly gripping your hips, before digging in slightly as you nipped what remained of his bottom lip.
Yes, there was a lot of making up to do indeed. And you were going to enjoy every minute of it.

Picture This | Balam Shichirou x Reader
Fandom: Mairimashita Iruma-kun
Pairing: Balam Shichirou x GN! Reader
Word Count: 2.1k
Genre/Tags: Fluff
Summary: You find out about the kind and gentle Balam Shichirou and meet him with a proposition of your own.
A/n: I have known this demon for 3 episodes and I'm in LOVE;; so I basically got possessed by the sudden urge to write something for him. he's the kindest, the sweetest, the BEST TEACHER EVER 😭 I love teachers like him so much, this was very self-indulgent and kinda just me admiring him hehe... I hope you enjoy this short thing I wrote, even though there's a high chance that he might be slightly ooc since I haven't known him for longer than 3 episodes.
also available on ao3!
The chatter in the class was a low hum as everyone worked on their own worksheets that you had just printed out. The Apocalypse Test was close and as a new teacher at Babyls, you wanted your first results to reflect well. If the results were not good then that would mean you had to work harder as a teacher.
Tumblr media
You were walking amongst the students, listening in on their discussions or aiding them in finding where the answer could be found in the textbook. It was an open book, open discussion worksheet solving session and you were pleased with how well the students seemed to be handling it without making too much noise. The abnormal class could be really serious about studying when they put their mind to it, huh?
The bobbing of a blue head caught your attention and you walked closer to Iruma's seat. As always, he was sitting between Alice and Clara but the three of them were referring to their own books. (Except for Clara; you were pretty sure the book in her hand had nothing to do with studying…) The book in Iruma's hand was one you had never seen before but it looked interesting.
"Iruma-kun?" You stopped in front of his desk and looked down at the book curiously. Said boy startled and looked up in panic until he realised it was just you. "Where did you get this book?"
"Oh!" He gave you a warm smile, the kind that always made you smile in return. "Balam-sensei gave it to me because I was… y'know… struggling to understand."
"Can I see it?" You asked, curiosity taking a hold of you. Iruma handed you the book and you leafed through it. Surprisingly, it was a picture book with really easy explanations. Whoever wrote it had your gratitude; these were the kind of books that made learning enjoyable and less daunting. You closed it and looked at the cover to check the author's name. "Huh? Balam Shichirou…? Balam-sensei wrote this book?"
"Yes!" Iruma beamed at you. "He made some of them especially for me."
"That's wonderful," you felt touched even though you had never met the man. When you had aspired to be a teacher, this was the kind of teacher you were aiming for. Somebody who helped even the students who were struggling to understand, from the basics so they could build a stronger structure of knowledge on it. "Is it easier for you to understand this way?"
"It is," Iruma admitted, shyly scratching the back of his neck. You smiled and lightly patted the top of his head, startling the boy a little.
"I'll keep that in mind for my next class," you said. "And while I'm grateful for Balam-sensei… Why didn't you tell me if you were struggling to understand my teaching, Iruma-kun? I would have adjusted for you."
You pouted at him so he knew you weren't seriously mad at him; just a little upset.
"No, no, no!" The boy panicked and shook his hands in a negating gesture. "That's not it, (y/n)-sensei!! I just didn't want to burden you because I was the only one struggling even with your easy explanations… I guess having it in written form like this just helps to remember what you've already taught."
"It's not a burden, Iruma-kun," you reminded him. "It's my job as a teacher to make sure you understand. If you don't understand something, that's my responsibility. If you're worried about being a bother to the rest of the class, you can always come to me after the classes are over to get a quick personalised lesson."
"Eh?" He looked surprised. "Wouldn't that take up your time, sensei?"
"If it helps my students then it's time well spent!"
After your classes for the day were done, you asked around the staffroom for where you could find Balam Shichirou. Kalego gave you the directions and you made your way to his office, curious about what kind of person he must be and how he would look. From whatever Iruma had told you, he already sounded like a kind person and a great teacher. You found the door and knocked on it before looking inside.
"Balam-sensei?" You asked. There was a demon with long white hair sitting on a table, writing something down, who startled at your voice. "Can I come in?"
"O- Oh, yes, please!" He seemed a little confused by your presence but you stepped in and closed the door behind yourself. There was an empty stool across the table so you sat down on it. "Um, (y/n)-sensei, would you like some Hell Grey Tea?"
"Oh!" You hadn't expected him to know your name. Suddenly, it felt embarrassing that you had never heard of him before this. "Yes, thank you for the offer, Balam-sensei."
He nodded and got up to make you some. He worked in silence so you took the time to look around his office. The shelves full of books were eye-catching and your hands were already itching to dig into them and read all the unfamiliar volumes. Your eyes drifted over to the book sitting in front of you that Balam was working on. Your eyes widened when you realised it was another picture book, this one on one of the battles that had occured some centuries ago. Your hands moved to check it before you could even think that it would be rude.
"Here you go– oh, you saw my book," Balam placed the tea just out of the way enough so that you wouldn't accidentally bump it. "Do you… like picture books, (y/n)-sensei?"
"Not particularly," you admitted as you skimmed through what was already drawn and written. "But I like to read so picture books are fun too! I suppose I never got much into them because my home was full of textual books and I liked those just fine so I never had any picture books as a kid. I may not know much about them, but this is really well-written, Balam-sensei! You draw so well too."
"Oh," the other demon pinked at your words as he took his seat. "Thank you. I'm glad you like it. I'm making this one for a student but you could borrow a different one if you're interested."
"Ah! That reminds me why I came here," you beamed at him, gently placing the book back where you had picked it up from. "I saw the picture book you gave Iruma-kun in my class today. Our subjects have a small section that overlaps so he was referring to the book you made for him and I couldn't help noticing it. It was truly so easy to understand and it gave me the idea that such a method would be helpful with other subjects too."
"Really?" He seemed surprised by your words but you could tell that he was also touched. "I would like to share them with all the students too, but for some reason, they keep running away when I try to show them my picture books."
"Ah," you leaned back when you realised that you had accidentally leaned over in your excitement. The other teachers in the staffroom had told you about Balam's reputation amongst the students. "I'm sure they would benefit from it. I could share your books with some of my students if that works for you, Balam-sensei. And, if you would be interested, I wanted to try making a picture book explaining my subject too. It's a huge task and I would compensate you accordingly for your time and efforts–"
"You…" If Balam had seemed shocked before, it was nothing compared to his face now. Although his mouth was covered by a metal mask, you could tell from how wide his eyes had gotten. "You want to… make a picture book… with me?"
"Only if you're interested!" You bit your bottom lip nervously. "I personally really liked your books and I thought it would be a great way to learn for the students who have a weaker or slower grasp of understanding. Since I'm not very familiar with the process, I thought it would be amazing if I could have the aid of your experience. I understand if it's a commitment that you don't have the time for, and there's no guarantee that it will work out but I would love to at least try it with you."
"I would love to," Balam uttered softly and even without seeing his mouth, you could tell that he was gently smiling at you with how his eyes curved just so. The sight made your heart unexpectedly quicken and you fidgeted in your seat, picking up the Hell Grey Tea you had forgotten about. "I didn't think any of the other teachers liked me much but I'm very happy that you thought of me when you wanted to try this out."
"I don't think they dislike you, Balam-sensei," you smiled from behind the cup of tea. "But I suppose people just get so caught up in appearances and assumptions. People who have much to hide seem dangerous at first glance and we don't take time to get to know them if we can help it. I admit I might have fallen prey to the same kind of thinking if I hadn't heard about you from Iruma-kun. I could tell you were a kind and wonderful teacher from the way he spoke about you."
Balam's eyes widened and for a second, you thought his eyes seemed glassy. You blinked and the light was gone but Balam's eyes were still the soft shape. Now that you took the time to study his face, you realised he was quite handsome. The thought made you accidentally slam your tea cup down on the table in panic and the ceramic broke, startling the both of you.
"Oh no, I'm so sorry!!" You were flustered but you hurriedly tried to collect the pieces together without hurting yourself. "I'm so clumsy…"
"It's okay," Balam reassured you, coming over to your side to help you pick up some of the pieces. "I'll take them to the trash. Are you hurt?"
"I don't– oh, just a little it seems," you had a very tiny cut from a sharper piece you had picked up. It didn't hurt. You waved it off as you carefully put the pieces you had collected in Balam's large gloved hands. "Nothing to worry about. It will be healed in a day or two. I really am sorry for troubling you, Balam-sensei!"
"I told you, it's fine."
He carefully threw away the trash then returned to you with an ointment from his desk drawer. You had stuck the finger into your mouth to suck at the blood and stop the flow but it felt embarrassing when you realised that Balam was watching you. You hurriedly removed the finger and tried to find a cloth to wipe it off but Balam crouched in front of you and asked for your hand silently. You ended up placing yours in his and watched him carefully pat it off before putting on the ointment.
"Thank you," you blushed fiercely when he was done and still hadn't let go of your hand. In fact, he was now standing up and holding both your arms in his own; the proximity was making your heart beat unnaturally fast. "Um, Balam-sensei..?"
"Yes?" He asked, blinking down at your comparatively smaller form in his arms.
"Y- You can let go of me now," you mumbled. Your words made him stutter and he let go in a panic.
"I- I'm so sorry, I just tend to do that without thinking!" He was blushing too, embarrassed. Balam didn't want to make you uncomfortable after you had been so nice to him. For once, he was actually getting along with someone new. For that matter, you were the one to approach him first! Not to mention, he had found you really beautiful when he had first seen you in the staffroom, laughing at Dali's joke. You hadn't seen him then, but that brief memory flashed in his mind when you softly giggled.
The sound of your laugh made his heart skip a beat. Balam stared at you as you flashed him a warm smile.
"If you wanted to hold me, you could have just asked, Balam-sensei!" You beamed and opened your arms for a hug. "I don't mind you touching me. I was just surprised."
Oh.
Balam's hands twitched for a second, the same nervousness he felt when Iruma tried to touch him popping up. But this time, it felt a bit different. The nervousness in his stomach felt like those fantastical creatures called butterflies that he had read about. His heart seemed to be thumping louder than usual too.
It was only when his larger frame swallowed yours into a gentle grip that he realised. He could feel the outline of your smile against his bicep.
Ah, this was what they called a crush, huh?

Daddy's baby
Balam was happily letting a tiny Clara climb all over him like he was some kind of mountain as he read a book to a sleepy little Alice and Iruma. Both boys snuggled together on his lap. Honestly, you were trying desperately not to squeal.
How was it again that this demon was single before you came along? He should have had five, if not six, little ones of his own with another on the way at this point. And that was at least!
By all accounts, he should have had a harem at this point! Demons were blind! You huffed as you watched him carefully tucking in the two boys while he carefully held a now squirming Clara.
A baby Jazz sat in your lap coloring, and you cooed happily over his scribbles. How was it that 4 out of your 13 children had been reduced to toddlers? Funny story...
Jazz was working on a project with his battler, something about making anti-aging potions. And of course, that's when your chaotic jellybean comes running in with her two precious soul mates behind her, trying to do damage control. Long story short, something gets knocked into the concoction, and it explodes.
Causing you and several other teachers to rush into the room. Your first instinct is to make sure each of your kids is alright. But really, the moment you spotted tiny hands reaching for you, your brain broke.
You couldn't help but snuggle and use baby talk. Really, it should be illegal for your kids to be so adorable. You and Sullivan took many pictures that first hour before you came to your senses about returning them to their original state.
You gave Dali-San the task of figuring that out as you would have your hands full. Balam had been terrified at first, thinking he'd hurt one of them accidentally, but both Clara and Iruma got him past those thoughts rather quickly as they reached out and tugged or held onto the large gargoyle.
Which required more pictures as you took the kids home for the day. It actually wasn't that bad. Sure, they got into things, and yes, you would definitely have a mess for later, but overall you loved it.
You glanced over to see Clara and Balam now rolling alone the floor. Your little jellybean laughing as she wore herself out trying and failing to get out of her kind teachers hold. You giggled.
Jazz had slipped off your lap and crept over to the playing duo. You watched as his tail waved back and forth rather lazily as he got a closer look. You blinked in shock.
Before you knew it, your little Jazzy had thrown himself at Balam as well. Luckily, the older demon had been paying attention and caught him by the back of his shirt. You letbout a sigh of relief.
Balam set Clara down and now played with the laughing little imp. "Baby, don't jump on, Daddy." You teased without thinking. You blushed. Both Jazz and shichiro are looking at you.
You heard a clatter and groaned. Clara had escaped the room again. You rushed out to do damage control. Secretly glad for a distraction.
... You take that back. Where in Hell did your little chaotic imp find glitter? Was she able to use her bloodline ability this young? Opera was going to kill you for the carpet.
♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡♡
Jazz stared up at the large demon, still holding him. His tail flicked in curiosity. "Baby?" He points to himself. Balam nodded, and a soft rumble left his chest.
"Baby," He confirmed, ruffling the little demons hair. Jazz's tail now waved happily as he beamed and pointed at himself again. "Daddy's baby!"
His heart pounded, and his cheeks turned red. But who could blame him? That was just so cute! Jazz tilted his head and pouted. "Daddy's baby?" This time as a question.
He pulled the little one closer and cooed, almost trilling. "Daddy's baby." He repeated firmly, so there wasn't doubt. The laughter that escaped the small child had him feeling like he was on cloud 9 all day.

I Don't Mind the Rain • Balam Shichirou x Human Reader
T/W: Depressing thought process from the mc
You were a weak human. You couldn't protect yourself like Iruma, your amazing adopted son. You can't help but feel useless, especially after the incident at Walter Park.
You feel miserable, and Balam catches on, and he knows just what to say.
-•-
You worked at Babyls as the student counselor. A job offered to you by Sullivan, or your dad. Your students during the day were all seeking help for their grades or stressed about their rank, unlike Iruma, they were upset that they felt their ranks were too low.
You didn't know if you were in the right mind ti be working today. Or yesterday. Or even tomorrow.
You might've needed some counseling yourself.
It was right after the End of Terminus and school had just started back up. The events that took place at Walter Park were swimming around the ocean of students as the Misfit class was being hailed as heroes.
You were there. You were worried about Iruma and his class being alone in such a large space with unfamiliar demons. Though it wasn't like you could do much.
The magical beasts had been far more than a magicless human like you could handle. While you watched your students work to save the day, all you could do was exactly that; watch.
You helped Agares watch over the children that Iruma rescued to ensure they stayed safe.
Iruma. He is such a brave boy. With the help of his ring, he single-handedly saved the park from the magical beast bomb.
He was so young, but so talented, becoming stronger every day while you still to be babysat.
You usually stayed with Balam, since he knew of your secret, and he kept you safe. But you can't help but wonder if he ever got tired of being your bodyguard.
He got hurt protecting you and the students, as well as the rescued children. It was his choice to do so, his duty even. But still, you can't help but feel...
"Sensei. Sensei are you listening?" The student in front of you, Bet ranked (2) looked at you with disapproval in their eyes.
"Yes, I hear you." You gave a sad smile, trying to look like you weren't bothered. "From the sound of it, if you can get your grades up in these classes, and score high in the Harvest and Music festival, you should be able to make it to Gimmel (4) before the end of the year." You handed the student a piece of paper that you were mindlessly jotting notes onto after double checking that you didn't accidentally pour your heart out onto it.
They took the notes and skimmed over it, seeming to light up at the thoughtful tips that were written near each point of interest. "Thank you Sensei! I'll make sure to follow this up!"
You nodded and flashed them another smile, genuinely happy to see them hopeful again. "I'll be here if you need to make a change of plans as well. Don't hesitate to ask me for advice," you chuckled softly, "That's what I'm here for after all."
How ironic.
"Of course! I'll be heading to class now, or else I'll be late." The student waved a final goodbye to you before they dashed out of the door, where their "friend" was waiting to head to class with them.
As they walked, they told the other demon about what you said and showed them the notes you gave them.
"Yeah, Sensei is awesome! Though, Sensei seemed sad today."
Those words had rung in a passing teachers ears. Sensei seemed sad...
Maybe it was intuition, or maybe it was the fact that everyone just called you "Sensei," but Shichirou Balam knew the students were talking about you.
-•-
After the students had gone home for the night, you quickly made yourself scarce. You hurried and organized your things, you gathered your belongings and left the office.
It had been raining all day, a light drizzle that turned into a steady downfall. You soon found that out as you stepped off onto one of the many balconies of the school, specifically the giant sakura tree that resides in Suzy's greenhouse.
It's not uncommon that you come here to reflect on your life. It's usually quiet and absent of life after school hours.
The tree reminds you of how well your adopted son is doing, but it also reminds you that you can't do anything yourself. You sometimes even have to ask Balam to walk you home if you stay at the school too long.
You had set your bag down at the door when you realized it was raining, but you didn't care about you hair or clothes as you leaned on the railing of the balcony and stared off into the far reaches of the surrounding forest.
By now you were soaked, hair sticking to your face, clothes stubbornly clinging onto you, and your teacher's coat was beginning to get heavy from the water it now held.
Yet you had no plans to move.
The events that had happened over the last few weeks, months even, were getting to your head.
You've done nothing. Your brain spat at you. You couldn't even move from behind a student as children fought off a beast. What kind of role model are you?
"Y/n?" A very familiar voice called out to you from the rain.
You turned to see your favorite demon standing next to you, a gloved hand reaching for your shoulder, but hesitating.
"Hello Balam." You gave him a sad smile, now unsure of why you even tried to hide it.
"What are you doing out here in the rain?" He let his hand move away from your shoulder to gently rub your back. "You'll get sick."
You let out a chuckle through your nose, "Maybe that's for the better." You turned to look back at the forest after seeing his expression turn from worry, to shock, and back to worry.
"Dear, please tell me what's wrong." He leaned down so he could be heard over the rain, but he didn't get too close. "Even the students are worried about you."
"The students?" You scoffed, "I'm sure it's more mockery than worry. Especially from the Misfits." You hung your head over the edge of the railing.
Balam stayed silent, unsure of what you were referring to. His hand continued to rub gentle circles across your back, and the feeling was all that was keeping you from crying currently.
"I couldn't protect anyone. I couldn't even protect myself." You paused, but started again before Balam could say anything. "I hid behind the students who were already in danger. I used students and you as my shield." You scoffed again and turned your head to look up at him. "Isn't that pathetic? Humans are so selfish, aren't they?"
Balam sighed and stopped rubbing your back, only for that same hand to wrap around your waist and pull you closer. He didn't seem to care about the fact that you were soaked, as he was nearly the same. "And what do you think of the parents who left their children behind in the rubble? What of them?" He spoke softly as he looked at you, his voice a rumble against the rain.
You weren't quite sure what to say. "They... abandoned their children to save themselves. They're as bad as I am."
Balam shook his head. "No, they're even worse." When you looked up at him with confusion in your eyes, he continued. "They left their children behind. You stayed for yours."
"But I couldn't do anything to help them. I don't want to burden them by having them watch over me. You already have your hand full babysitting me because I'm weak as it is." Your words were harsh and coated in a poison that could kill, but Balam didn't even flinch.
"I don't think you're weak. I think the exact opposite. And you're troubling no one." Balam's words sounded as if he had a smile behind that mask of his. "Strength in the Netherworld is about magic, but I realize that that's not all there is to it." He pulled away, only to reposition himself on the railing and wrap his arm around your shoulder to rub your arm lovingly. "You and Iruma both showed me that strength can come from the soul."
"And what part of my soul is so strong that you can say that?" You seriously doubted his words, but your humanly curiosity wanted to hear what he had to say.
"Well, there's many reasons. For one, you've lived here for months now, and you've never wanted to go back. I don't know much about humans, but from what I hear, most of them wouldn't even last a day. And another reason is your sense of self. You can be yourself no matter what happens, even at a time like this. You still managed to smile today, didn't you? If you truly didn't believe you belonged here, then you would've left long ago." He leaned in a bit closer, so his face was next to yours. You could've felt his breath through the vents on his mask if it weren't for the wind and rain. "And you've helped countless students in ways that I'm sure they appreciate. All of my students that have gone to see you during the day have better grades and are feeling good about themselves."
You looked at him with wide eyes full of surprise. Then they returned to their saddened state. "I'm sure demons who want something will find a way to get it." You paused, "That includes their grades."
Balam simply chuckled and gave you a gentle squeeze. "I had a talk with a few of my students over the week as they've been fretting about the upcoming events. Their grades and spirits have all risen and they all had one thing in common that they said. Can you guess what that is?" He stopped, his eyes crinkled with joy as surely a smile spread across his face.
You also hesitated, not wanting to say what you think he'd say. Your expression became much softer as you found it within yourself to meekly ask, "Me?"
He nodded and said, "You. More specifically, they said they couldn't have done it without you."
This caused a small blush to form across your cheeks despite the cold temperature of the weather. "They did?"
Balam nodded, "They did."
You looked away from him, out at the forest. Your feelings for him weren't helping your blush as he stood there in the rain and comforted you. By now you were both beyond drenched and your hair stuck to your faces. Balam seemed to take note of this as well, as he reached his free hand over to push wet hair out of your face, which if course only made you blush harder.
He chuckled as you turned to him with wide eyes and a red face. "Glad to see you're feeling better."
He moved his hand from your hair and gently held the side of your face, trying to wipe away any water streaming down your cheek. He softly called out your name, though you could still hear his voice through the rain, like a crack of thunder through the storm.
"I care for you more than you know," he began softly. "I don't think of protecting you as 'babysitting' you either."
You flinched at the comment that you had forgotten that you made earlier.
He simply smiled in response. "I don't think of you as some human to protect either. To me, you're so much more than just a precious specimen."
"Balam..." you started, but his smile made you stop yourself.
"I protect you, because you're special to me. Very special." He paused to unclasp the notches on his mask.
It was a simple task, four small buttons that pooped out of place to release the mouthpiece, but watching him do so felt like an eternity. Even as he pulled the metal away from him.
In the rain, his looks were only more tantalizing. His face was framed by the wet strands of hair that stuck along his pale skin. His eyes half-lidded as his eyelashes protected him from the streams of fresh rain from his hair. And his smile. That gorgeous toothy grin that could make your heart skip a beat. He smiled at you with such emotion in his eyes that you would've cried if it weren't for your overwhelming urge to kiss him right now.
You must've been staring for a little too long, as he blushed and averted his eyes. But you caught his face before he could turn away, your hands wrapped around the cool metal remnants of his mask, your fingers entangled in his soaked hair, and your lips gently pressing against his scarred ones.
He immediately moved his hands to wrap around your waist as he melted into you.
You two stayed like that for a while, simply exchanging kiss after kiss in the rain, until you both had to pull away to breathe.
You both stood there in silence as you caught your breath. Balam closed his eyes and rested his forehead on yours, his mask long forgotten on the ground.
After another moment, he sighed and looked into your eyes. "Perhaps we should go inside. I'll have Nigyul bring us some towels. And possibly some extra clothes if he can find any." He gave a soft smile and pulled away to give the commands to his little dragon, who was apparently there the whole time, hiding in the fur of Balam's shirt.
As the little dragon scampered off, he grew in size slightly, likely so he could carry everything.
"I'm sorry we stayed out here so long. I really hope you don't get sick." Balam began to fret. "Hopefully Nigyul will be back soon."
With Balam now standing on his own, you suddenly felt the chill from the wind and ice cold caress of the rain. "Uhh, I don't think I'll get sick, but um," you hesitated nervously, "I am a bit cold now."
Balam seemed to catch on quickly. He bent over to pick up his mask and clasp it back together, then he quickly pulled you into a hug and wrapped his wings around the two of you.
You stayed like that until Nigyul returned, and you both went separate ways to change clothes.
It was too late to return home now, and the rain was only getting worse, as well as Balam fretting over you possibly being sick.
Balam texted Opera and told them that you'd be staying at the school with him overnight due to these factors, and they reluctantly accepted the fact.
When you and Balam were getting ready to sleep, he sat cross legged in his nest and patted his lap, telling you to come sit.
You did as you were told. You sat on his thigh and placed your feet between his knees so you could comfortably lay on his chest.
He smiled at you, with his mask removed once more so he can sleep comfortably. He wrapped his arms and now dry wings around you both and nuzzled his face into your neck.
His last words before the both of you fell asleep were soft, and all he said was, "I love you."

Welcome to Demon School x Reader Headcanons
Their reaction to reader saying ‘‘tis but a scratch” when they’re actually injured
Characters: Balam, Kalego, Opera
💛- read as platonic
Tumblr media
Balam
- Oh boy, let's say Balam is aware that you're human
- This will lead to him being even more concerned, sure you've survived for this long without anyone knowing you're human but still, he’ll be worried
- He’ll accidentally come across you bleeding out, first thing he notices is the injury and the smell of your blood
- Panics ‘cause demons and humans smell different -> any demon can come after you -> quickly brings you to his office and takes care of your injury
- Even if you insist ‘tis but a scratch’ he’ll just stare at your bleeding side while taking out many bandages and first aid stuff
- He may not know much about humans but what you have is definitely not a scratch!
- Makes you check up with him everyday to make sure its healing correct, gives you extra healing and bandage supplies to take home
Tumblr media
Kalego
- He didn't know you were human until you were injured
- We’re gonna say he’s okay that you're human in order to write this
- First thing he checks is if there are any other demons around, it could be a problem if you're secret got out
- In a rush he brings you to Balams office/ room
- He knows he can trust Balam, and also Balam is the best demon he can think of that can help you
- While you guys wait for Balam to show up you keep insisting that you're okay, that ‘tis just a scratch’
- He pauses to take in what you said and then- “Are you an idiot?”
- Thinks you lost too much blood and makes you sit
- Tries to find anything to wrap you up for the time being
- Once Balam shows up he explains to Kalego that everythings good, Kalego stays until he sees for himself that you're okay
Tumblr media
Opera
- They know because Iruma told them
- So when you come stumbling by them with a major injury they immediately take action
- They bring you home (the mansion), quickly informs Sullivan, and gets to work with cleaning you up
- As they bandage you, you tell Opera that you're okay, ‘tis but a scratch
- They ignore you and forcibly make you take some meds ,it's some tough love okay? No way they are letting one of Irumas friends bleed out
- Once the injury has been maintained and taken care of, they will make some tea and cookies for you and let you rest
- Gives you suckers before you go
- For the next week or so Opera asks Iruma if you're doing alright

I live for adult comfort - child/teen reader! Can you do Opera, Balam and Kalego with a student reader who wants to be like them? Do the same job. So, they ask them to help them realize this dream. Because Opera/Kalego/ Balam is their model in life? Ur work is amazing
This is a cute scenario! Thank you for enjoying my work. For the story you are in the misfit class. Also takes around the harvest festival.
Tumblr media
Opera
After seeing Opera fight at Walter Park, you were inspired by them and wanted to follow in their footsteps
When you go up to Opera and ask if can they teach you how to be like them
Opera is caught off guard for a second but then looks at you to see if you are serious
Opera, "Y/n you being a security demon means a lot of work right. You need to have a dependence on your serve. You need that "trust". Are you willing to do that?"
Y/N: "Yes I am willing!"
Seeing you so willing to learn and have that "trust" in another demon, Opera understands
After that day you start working with Opera at the Sullivan household
Even in a similar suit as Opera wears
Iruma was excited to see you there and try to interact with you like he would at school but Opera stopped him
Opera: "Sorry Master Iruma they are in training right now. So please treat them like you would me."
Iruma: "Oh alright. Good luck Y/N!"
The first week was a bit difficult, to say the least. You were surprised by how Opera does
But you never gave up and your hard work begin to show during the harvest festival
Opera taught you even during that time as well
You team up with Gaap and Agares and end up helping them by temporarily serving them
You help them fight and protect the base
At the end of the festival, you were able to go up a rank
You were proud of what you were able to become with Opera teaching you
(Who would have thought Opera would become your teacher again in your second year as well)
Kalego
While you knew Kalego was not the nicest teacher out their
You can appreciate how much he dedicated to his job
Seeing how well detail he is in his notes when you go up to him to ask a question he answers
Even turning the Walter Park Event into a teaching experience (No matter how bad it was)
You won't outright go and ask him to teach you on to become a teacher, because you don't think he will be too thrilled about that
So you go to him and ask him other questions about school and classes
But he catches on quickly to your plan and sees how you want to be a teacher
He takes pride that you see him as a good role model and when you come around he will start giving more tips and advice on the subject you ask
While both of you never admit to the true intentions of your interaction everyone else can see how you become Kalego's favorite student
Balam
Unlike the other two, you started to look up to Balam before the Walter Park event
It was during the crazy studying for your exams when you went to the class on the imaginary creatures due to you having trouble in the subject
That was when you met Balam who was substituting for the class
You were nervous to meet him of all the stories you had heard about him
But once you stepped into the class and heard him teach, his excitement for the subject made you want to stay
You try to go talk to him more after that class but you can never find the right time to do so
But when you got to Walter Park you saw this as an opportunity to learn more about him
Seeing him fight and how he use his demon knowledge to win a fight made you really love the subject and want to learn more about it
After the fight, you went up to him and ask him to teach you more about the subject
While you don't know if you want to be a teacher like him, what you do know is that you want to be a biologist like Balam

Humans do not have ‘Evil Cycles’ it’s true. However, they can bend under stress in other ways. Some lose their minds and others present more physical symptoms. you're crying in your room, hiding away from everyone. stuck in your own head, you know you need to stop, it's not healthy, but it's just so hard for you to pull yourself out of the hell of overthinking and terrible fantasies you've created in your mind..
then you feel a familiar hand touch you, the touch hesitant at first, they don't know if this is what you want. when they see you lean in, they don't hesitate, pulling you into a tight hug. they hate seeing their darling upset.
