This is honestly the best version of Yun's theme. I don't much care for the New Gen version, the 3rd Strike version is too mellow to compensate for it being both Yun and Yang's theme, and his SF4 theme is awesome but goes a little too hard and fast.

Yes, this theme sounds not only like a crowded street in Hong Kong, but also like a kung fu action movie, and like the theme of getting absolutely styled on by a angsty teen that was somehow allowed to learn Bajiquan. It sounds like the theme of getting launched high into the air with a fatass tetsuzanko, getting neutral skipped by lunge punch, command grabbed into genei jin, it goes just hard enough. After the main melody it does so much extra shit. I don't know shit about music but god damn this theme sounds fucking amazing. Fuck. Yun is so fucking cool.

So I just had my first semester test done 2/5, 3 more to go and I can rest for the holiday (aka New Year 2025)

So I found this very cool post on Facebook VN (click link) about the latest chapter!

I mean, look at it! We have jiangshi, iron ox, yin-yang...

So apparently, it seems that the type of martial arts that Seiko-obachan used when fighting the jiangshi (Chinese vampire-like zombies) (I mentined this in chapter 177 post) is Eight Extreme Fist [Vietnamese: Bát Cực Quyền (Khai môn bát cực quyền) or Chinese: 八極拳 (開門八極拳), pinyin: Bājíquán (Kāimén bā jí quán) or Japanese: Hakkyokuken/ Hakka Kuen)

Bajiquan (Chinese: 八極拳; pinyin: Bājíquán) is a traditional Chinese martial art that features explosive, short-range power in close combat and is well-known for its rapid elbow and shoulder strikes. Its full name is kaimen bajiquan (Chinese: 開門八極拳; pinyin: Kāimén bājíquán; lit. 'open-gate eight-extremities boxing'). The eight extremities in Bajiquan refers to the eight distalmost parts of the body to strike the opponent. This includes the fist, forearm, elbow, shoulder, hip, thigh, knee, and foot to deliver a powerful blow in close range. Bajiquan is also known as the "bodyguard style", as this was the pugilism style taught and used by personal bodyguards for Mao Zedong, Chiang Kai-shek, and Puyi (the last Qing dynasty emperor). Bajiquan is now popular in northern China and Taiwan. Later, it was introduced to Japan, South Korea, and other countries; such as the United States, Canada, Britain, France, Italy, among others.

Now I'll explain the word "Bát cực quyền" for you! (Sino-Vietamese)

bát means tám (8) -> Eight

cực means super, extreme -> Extreme

quyền means đòn, like attack and defense using hands, so basically hands movements, usually fists -> Fist

-> so now you know: Eight Extreme Fist

And for Japanese (Romanji) (it's the same) (from wiki): Hakkyokuken is a style that emphasized strong striking power. All powers are generated from legs and feet. It is widely used by the security guards in Taiwan and China.

My OC Saeko “Tora” Toramori  by the super talented duo of x_xwhiterose on Twitter (don’t think they have a tumblr) and @gabitzart 1st year Highschool student, Martial Artist, Semi-Delinquent, Dog Walker Her training at the age of 7 at the hands of her (now banished) uncle has left numerous scars that she has yet to fully recover from, leading to outbursts of anger when she’s feeling too tense. Add to that her skill and strength and it resulted in her being kicked out of 15 different middle schools in 3 years and several teachers in the hospital. Through therapy dogs and the support of her parents she was able to claw some stability over her emotions by the time of her high school entrance exams.

As she managed to regain some control over herself, Saeko forged the “Tora” persona as an outlet for her violent tendencies, focussing her rage towards protecting other kids so no-one goes through what she had, making her the bane of every bully, abusive teacher or family member of her friends in school.

I played Mortal Kombat X(L) yesterday after not playing an MK game in several years, and... I kinda love it?

It's weird, back when I first played MK I couldn't get into it at all, but it's just really clicked with me now. I've pretty much only been playing as Bo' Rai Cho (tried all variations, my fav is Dragon's Breath but I hardly use any of those moves lol), but I'm probably gonna try out some other characters soon.

(As a side note, seeing Bo's cool drunken fist moves has made me want to come up with a zui quan character myself...)

I know I've just released my first M.U.G.E.N character, but I've already started on my second, lol (and my third but ssshh):

I don't think it's all that surprising that I'd make a Raz character next - she is Shun's rival, after all. This character is either going to take a lot less time to make or a whole lot more - I've had a much more solid idea of her moveset than Shun's, but making sprites of her feels significantly more difficult. :/ Hopefully those two cancel out and she comes out just as fast as Shun!

Obviously, she's a long way from completion currently...

new tekken mechanics look good 2 me. love the heat system seems like its just more in depth / adaptable version of rage drive . character key moves being highlighted nd enhanced is also cool. nina gun. always liked that tek didnt have chip damage but health recovery system seems ook, we'll see.

was watching on aris's stream and was a little worried abt the one button combos initially but think its their attempt at like a per character tutorial? like u can do the key moves / example combo then go look up the inputs for those moves. which is actually helpful for learning how dif characters play quickly. obv wont matter to skilled players anyway so who really care, but ya helpful as a learning tool maybe.
