A fic I reread several times - Just one??? No, I'm sharing my top 4 (They're all Guardian/Weilan, 3 of the authors below are among my ⭐favorites⭐ EVER so let me be talkative abt them):

To wild uncharted waters by @the-marron ⭐- Nothing new to see here, everyone knows I'm obsessed with this fic, but this is not the first and won't be the last time Marron's fics do THINGS to my heart. Her stories are inspiration.

The Charm Of Chastity by PaddlesPetwixtPuddles - no idea if the author is on tumblr. Sad fact: this is the ONLY Guardian fic they posted. It's perfect.

Kunlun's Godly Seed, Shen Wei's Ghostly Body by @lacommunarde ⭐- Idk how many times I reread this one tbh, but around 5-6 for sure (as some others from the same author, one day I'll comment in all of them jksjkskj HELLO I LOVE YOUR FICS)

Young Love by @thosch3i ⭐- Read all the Guardian fics this author posted too. Also sad fact, they're not active in this fandom anymore, but I hope they're having fun wherever they are now :D

A fic that brought you aboard a new ship

All the ships I actively interact with (read/write/art) were brought to my life by Marron, she put me in the Weilan Derivatives hell jksksj. As for my DMBJ ships, the adaptations did the trick, so there's no fic to mention (but Marron also mentioned Heihua and I was OH 👀?)

My favorite of all, OTP so dear to my heart 2Luo, in 3 steps: But a bitter kiss will bring him to his knees , A Kiss is Still a Kiss and That fatal kiss is all we need

Across the Stars (Qi Heng/Xun Xu - this ship is SO SWEET) - Star Wars AU, but it's Weilan Derivs (I need to finish reading the fics of this ship)

and THE FIC - it's so good I better not start to talk abt this fic I'm a gremlin abt this fic and YOU KNOW THIS FIC bc I think the whole team read it, Vince said it's better than books so yk what it means: The Thousand Flowers Manor (Hua Wuxie/Pei Wende - and we also have Qi Heng/Xun Xu there!) It's Pride and Prejudice in Wuxia times, how could that go wrong in Marron's hands? I'd recommend it a million times, watch some youtube to see the characters if you don't want to watch the shows/movies and go read this fic, you'll laugh, cry, be angry, hunt demons in Ancient China and have lots of dramatic relatives messing things up. It's a true delight. Happy Ending :D

~~About rereading, if a fic is in my ao3 bookmarks, there's a high chance that I reread that fic at least once, but I decided to share the ones that are Fav Fic + Fav Author ~~About ships and new stuff, I'm still waiting for the Godzilla AU with actual godzillas in it, ship is Godzilla/ruined cities under his feet.

Not only did I just find out that there's a character called Baiheng, but apparently that's who Bailu used to be (according to a very plausible theory based on hints throughout the game). This completely changes Bailu's involvement and importance in this whole Imbibitor Lunae drama. Whatever Dan Feng did to get banished must have somehow involved turning a Foxian into a Vidyadhara.

Also, imagine how cute and/or angsty the interactions between Blade and Bailu could be. Maybe Bailu could be the other person who does not "have to pay a price". Ah, I really want Dan Heng, Blade, Jing Yuan, Jingliu and Bailu to have a big, awkward reunion now.

"Oh, there's a lot of tasty food out here!" smiles the healer and swings her arms so wide as if she wants to embrace the whole Aurum Alley they walk through in her arms. "Out of desserts I just love songlotus cakes! However taskpir wraps are just as good and all the other food... There's a loooot of tasty food in every shop!"

"Well, maybe someday I will try every dish there is here." Caelus was so right when suggested him to ask Bailu about food instead of him. Maybe even a bit too right if passionate eyes of younger dragon were saying anything.

"Oh, right!" Bailu takes Danheng's hand in her own and Danheng just can't comprehend what's happening in time. "You should try everything there is in Aurum Alley! And we're starting right now!"

"No need to hurry, there's a lot of time to..."

It's sort of ironic how fans often link the leaf 🍁 to Dan Heng, considering "Feng" means "maple", but it's also so fitting

#The leaf following Dan Heng on his idle animation like the past identity he can't entirely leave behind because it always catches up to him #How the imagery appears on his splash art and his ultimate because it's irrevocably linked to who he is #even if in his trying to reclaim his right to be himself #The way he catches the leaf‚ looks at it thoughtfully and then lets it go...#I always loved his idle but after finding out the meaning I thought like I was being hit with a club #The fact that apparently according to some magazine he named himself after the 'Dan' engraved on Cloud Piercer is also very juicy #Because he chose himself to be linked to that past he is trying to break free from. It really enhances how the past is not something he is #negating entirely but something he wants to move on from. Likewise we see him try to get responsibility from his past and make things better #while he keeps reminding people he is himself and no one else #I've seen people read under romantic lens the fact that 'Dan' in engraved on the spear and that it marks how it's Dan Fen.g's #tied to the fact that Dan Feng too struggled with that reclamation of the self vs. giving up on himself entirely for a role #And it surprised me tbh. Romantic or platonic I didn't read it under that view at all maybe because I had read like in July #that the High Elders are named using the first character of their past ('Bai'‚ 'Dan'). I don't remember that appearing in canon explicitly #but it's a repeated pattern and back in the early Bail.u/Bai.heng theories it was something very often brought up #So my reading was that Yingxin.g was acting like a Furnace Master there #He had made a spear for the High Elder‚ and that role would transcend Dan Feng as a person and fall onto someone else eventually #As it does in some way onto Dan Heng now‚ to whom the spear responds #Yingxin.g the Furnace Master more than the friend had made a spear for the High Elder‚ and that role would transcend Dan Fen.g #I don't know... I've often read very sweet interpretations of this but the way I saw it I can't help but find it heartbreaking haha #Anyway I'm saying this because read this way his other idle animation‚ the one with the spear‚#also enhances the continuity of his self with Dan Fen.g's not just in personhood but in role #And considering Dan Heng's voiceline about Cloud Piercer is also a choice he makes even if the spear preceded him #So again a choice that is perhaps somewhat conditioned by the preexisting context but a choice he makes nonetheless #Like how he takes responsibility from his past but also decides to move on and reclaims his identity as something separate #Anyway... the Cloud Piercer thing is all theories for now. I don't think we know for sure if the continuity of the same first character #is something established in canon. Maybe it just happened these two times with Dan Heng and Bailu #because of the particularity of their cases #But I think it is coherent and that it would enhance this narrative motif or subject in Dan Hen.g's characterisation and arc #I find that concept of his very intriguing I hope it will be well developed in the future #As of now I find what they've done with it thus far a bit dull most of the time considering the potential it has
