My costume comes from one of my all time favorite comedic movies Major League. One of those movies that has always stuck with me. Along with being a baseball fan as well.

I was able to do a little research online besides watching the movie multiple times. I was able to source the Jersey, Undershirt, cap and pants online after some digging. The Jersey was the hardest, but did find it as the last one available.

I had to build the glasses which were made from some standard frames, a skull earring and some superglue. It isn't a perfect match to the movie, but worked out pretty good.

Before I headed to NY for the con, I stopped in to my local hair stylist who took care of the "Veg Head" haircut to complete the look. It was a lot of fun to do. The extras that I threw in include a baseball that I carry with me that is actually a speaker that plays Wild Thing and quotes from the movie !

I've worn the Ricky Vaughn Wild Thing Cosplay at San Diego Comic Con and New York Comic Con hitting both coasts this year and the reaction has been great at both locations. A lot of people either just yell "Wild Thing", sing his theme song, or shout out one of the many great one liners from the movie. I really didn't know how the response would be, but found out it to be amazing.

Cosplay has affected me in a number of ways, but the biggest is that I'm part of a wonderful group of Copslayers from Iowa, Justice Corps of Iowa. Our mission is to Inspire Smiles while lifting Hearts. We visit kids in hospitals and donate our time to assist in fundraising and awareness of children and other charity needs. Justice Corps of Iowa – Inspiring Smiles, While Lifting Hearts and Security Check Required . We've met some truly inspiring little heroes in our visits, who inspire us to keep helping others as well. I love comics so Cosplay lets me immerse myself further into the fandom.I get to combine my love for fitness to make my cosplay better. Charitable contributions + Comics + Fitness = perfect mix for me.
