I dont think you need to excuse a character's wrongdoings to like them. You can enjoy their bad side, how complex and mean they are, and stop there. You can enjoy a character without them behaving like a respectable person would IRL (you can also like mean people IRL).

Regarding Theo, you can say that liking him leads to understanding him, and then understanding his crimes, with which I agree (see Card's Ender's Game: when you truly understand your enemy, you cannot but love them). But understanding and excusing is not the same thing.

Have you ever considered being a kind person who doesn’t actively shit on other artists in the fandom. To be someone who doesn’t namedrop and bring down others and to instead be someone in the community who promotes positivity?

I feel like a lot of your “problems” would be solved by “taking the high road” and not being such a negative person towards others and the life series members. The fandom space has such a large issue with being toxic towards each other, and more so with those anonymous confession blogs which you have contributed to.

It’s always fair to have opinions, even if a majority of people won’t agree with you, but you need to learn to either keep it to yourself, or express your opinions in a way that’s not so harmful and impulsive.
