Thinking once more about the F/F AO3 stats issue. Really struggling with the urge to write "issue" there too, LOL.
I know that call-to-action doesn't always go well, and that I exist as a drop in the bucket compared to millions of Tumblrites & AO3 users. But the curse of seeing yet another post which discusses how horri-bad these stats are, when the differences within the individual fandoms is often so manageable. It drives me insane.
There's a couple versions of these "wow, M/M fics are more popular and that's bad because of X issue" posts that have screenshots of laughable disparities. Stuff like 500 more M/Ms than F/Fs. That is a genuinely amusing number, because with the help from a fraction of the thousands who share any post like that, this very scary gap would cease to exist.
So, anyway. I'm considering some sort of fandom roundup wherein I have folks vote on a fandom with F/F to M/M "disparity" which I will then run a "break the ratio" event on. Encouraging people to write fics until the ratio evens. IDK, is that something that people would be interested in? I could be crazy but this rubber room squeaks and I think the rats are talking about me.

Becky (or whoever you want from your masterlist that’s a woman) x reader
Whenever Becky (or whoever) gets injured reader always comes and like kisses her injuries and bruises telling Becky (or whoever) that it will make it better and they play along with reader knowing she gets worried about them.
if that makes sense
Princess treatment || Becky Lynch x Reader
Summary: You take care of Becky after she dislocated her shoulder.
You couldn't help but worry when you saw Becky come backstage after her brutal match at SummerSlam, her shoulder visibly out of place and her body battered from the fight. You knew what you had to do; it was time to take care of the fiery redhead who usually took care of everyone else.
The next few days were filled with you tending to her every need. You gently kissed her bruises, not caring if she thought it was phony; it was your way of showing her love and care. You brought her ice packs and painkillers, making sure she was comfortable and pain-free. You sat with her, running your fingers through her hair as she winced in pain or frustration, just providing the comfort she needed.
Becky, who was used to being the one to dish out the punishment, found herself in an unfamiliar situation. She played along with the 'princess treatment,' even if she thought it was a little excessive. She did it not for herself, but to see that worried look on your face turn into one of relief. She knew how much you cared for her, and she wanted to let you know that she appreciated all you were doing.
While she might have been the fiery man in the ring, she had a softer side, and you brought that out in her. It was in these moments, the vulnerability of injury, that she realized how much she cared for you, too. Your unwavering support and love meant the world to her, and the princess treatment was more real than she had initially thought.
As the days passed and Becky's injuries healed, you both found a deeper connection in the midst of her recovery. You continued to be there for her, not just during the tough times, but always, because you cared about her and loved her, even when she wasn't wearing her fiery red hair and leather jacket.

If you like seeing fanart...And you like the artists posting the fanart so you can enjoy it...Could you all please stop posting and using your AI-generated Rogue Trader portraits?
Those of us who are professional artists already live in a world in which CEOs have decided creatives are replacable because techbros told them it is so.
We, and I truly think I can speak for all of us, don't need to see this shit invade fandom spaces which we want to enjoy and contribute to.
I get that some people don't realize how horrible unethical generative AI art is and see it as a harmless toy but p l e a s e inform yourselves and don't contribute to the normalization of this garbage.
The SAG-AFTRA strikes did not happen for no reason, VAs are not asking people to not use models trained on their voices for no reason, Midjourney creators are not getting sued by creatives for no reason.
The models work because they mass-plagiarize our images without any consent whatsoever.
My art is in there, the art of your favourite artist is in there and by using this tech nightmare, you just give the ones responsible more of an incentive to keep exploiting literally every single working creative currently alive on this planet. :'>
Voice Actors, writers, actors, artists...We are all fighting this shit so we can continue making things for you to enjoy.
Make your own portrait, commission someone, use one of the numerous portraits owlcat has provided you with, hell, edit one of the existing ones to suit your needs, use another illustration you like...There truly is no need for AI here.
Fandoms are supposed to be a place we can all enjoy together but I will be honest, it is both hurtful and infuriating to see fandom spaces being invaded with AI. We also want to enjoy fandom and share things with you so meet us halfway, please?

[OUTSIDE: Suburban street. The camera slides while ABBA's Voulez-Vous plays, before the camera settles on a short-haired teenager wearing headphones. Our protaganist, OP.]
[The camera cuts to be closer to her. At the same time, the music changes so it seems to be coming from her headphones. She looks concerned. Voulez-Vous ends, Gimme! Gimme! Gimme! (A Man After Midnight) begins. The girl is lost, and ABBA is leading her like a siren, as per usual.]
