It's been more than a month now so I think the high alert for Chapter 236 spoilers have cooled off a bit, how do you think a conversation between Satoru and Mother AU Shiki would play out in the afterlife airport in the sub AU where Shiki got killed and bodyjacked by Kenjaku?

I think... there would probably be a pause, a certain silence in the air when they see each other. A poignant, emotional moment from any bystander's eyes.

Shiki tells Satoru that she's proud of him for doing the right thing by killing the imposter puppeting her body, even though it meant destroying her body in the process. Satoru asks her if she had anything to do with the way Kenjaku suddenly froze for a moment towards the end instead of escaping, to which Shiki smiles and blithely denies any involvement.

Miq groans audibly as her world comes back into proper focus, having fallen out of bed and woken up by her morning alarm. Damn, she was having so much fun! Lucid dreaming is fun until you have to get up for the day.

She rolls over and around in her blanket on the floor as she tries to get her bearings and stand up carefully. It is definitely an aspirin morning now, with how sore she feels.

I’m sorry but I will truly never get over Ekko who lost his mentor and all his friends at a young age, then spent the rest of his childhood building a beautiful and strong community that helped get shimmer addicts off the streets and give them a new life that thrived off of trust, respect, and loyalty while slowly watching the girl he loves lose herself to her psyche and become an unhinged suicidal terrorist who he is unable to save despite repeated attempts at it. And THEN gets booted into an alternate reality where he learns he could have had EVERYTHING, the beautiful and thriving community, the education, his family, and the girl he loves and he heartbreakingly leaves it all behind because he knows he doesn’t belong there and he has to go back to save his people which he DOES multiple times at great risk despite knowing what overextending his z-drive could do only to end up completely alone in the end. The most selfless character in the entire series. That’s my boy savior.

The final TF2 issue really got to me. Spoilers, but it’s the reveal that all of this suffering and murder and war over gravel and shitty land was for nothing but senseless, bottomless hatred. That the administrator can’t even remember where this revenge plot started as she flashes through different false memories of her parents’ deaths. There was never a tragic backstory or justification, only terrible people doing despicable things. And despite how crass and stupid and unserious TF2 is, the story subverts every expectation by showing the survivors and inheritors willingly breaking the cycle. Ms. Pauling lies to the administrator and chooses not to save her, and finally lets her die. (Hurts even more if you read into the subtext that Ms. Pauling is in love with the administrator.) She lets the final cache of Australium go and walks away from the burden and legacy of a century-old bloodfeud. Hale lets Gray’s daughter go and live her life freely. Spy is the first to arrive at Scout’s house and meet his big family, finally takes off his mask, and helps with the kids. Even Merasmus exhaustedly makes peace with himself and Soldier and chooses not to curse him or something. There’s nothing to finish, no promises to keep, and no one to avenge. The only thing to do is break the cycle and walk away.

It feels odd how happy and warm everything is, but it feels so right and earned. These bloodthirsty, awful, violent men were expendable cogs in a machine of endless violence, and they found a way out. It’s a genuinely great message about letting go the past that burdens you and finding the will and a way to hit the bricks, change, and be happy. Maybe they don’t technically deserve happiness, but they’ve got it nonetheless, and they’re not gonna let it go to waste. They’re still all crazy and violent, but on their own terms now and with people who love them! Smiles.

Weird End: Picasso'd

Miq is stunned as she managed to take a good hit, while outside. Unfortunately, it is not a hit that a normal person would get up from. Though, she survived...in a different way.

The hit? A huge concrete slab falling off of a nearby truck and crushing her into the side of a building. Many people aghast and frantically trying to rescue her. They are very surprised when she is no longer there, but a Picasso-like art piece is now on the wall where she was crushed. It looks like a very stylized version of the woman, but where was she herself? Everyone got a bit spooked and went on their way once they realized nobody was hurt, maybe?

Of course, this just left Miq flat against the wall and stuck as a bit of street art for who knows how long...? Some people say you can still hear her trying to speak to this day...
