Just a random question to my artist followers: does anyone enjoy posting their stuff on tiktok? I can't tell if its just a me thing or if that app and its userbase are the most obnoxious compared to other social media

#txt #like any time i post something the comments are 10% related to the art #and then 50% is 'omg did you know this guy draws porn!!' and then LINKING THE FUCKING ACCOUNT #35% is someone complaining about gay people or women #and then the last 5% is someone yelling at me because they confused me with some other guy with a similar name/art style #ive also been sent genuine death threats over my dragon ball ship art. something i drew a YEAR ago #because tiktok's privacy policy is so bad that people can't dm you but they can still send message requests #is it because tiktok has a much younger userbase?#like we know how batshit twitter is and instagram is pretty annoying as well but tiktok feels like nobody knows what a filter is

critics and film directors: dracula is all about how women's sexuality is evil and needs to be punished. now we're not sexist. these are just facts from the story which was written in the 1800s and therefore definitely totally represents these attitudes.

the actual book: has incredibly well developed and realistic female characters who feel like complex and real people and who also spend a large amount of time discussing and thinking about feminism - which all the adaptations cut.

#Also Lucy is the more traditionally feminine character and she dies whereas Mina who is more gnc and feminist lives.#So by the logic of the story being about “bad” women getting punished then the message is that traditional femininity is bad. I mean.#That's not what the story is about. Lucy's death is clearly meant to read as a tragedy not a punishment.#But even by the logic of it being a message about punishment #the conclusion that a lot of critics and filmmakers draw doesn't hold and just reveals their own sexist biases.#Dracula #Dracula Daily #my post

#tes #skyrim #my art #do you like my nelvas emojis🧣📜🧣📜 get it? scarf🤗 and scroll🤗 Everything hurts sofucking bad #anyways i talked about them wif my friend quite a bit i basically 'agree' w/ everything that is written about them && their biology in -#- canon; except tes is very much all Talk and no good actual visual presentation of what it's talking about #cus all of the maormer look like garboooo likeee what am i looking @#but since this is just a first test i think i'll keep playing around with their looks later; they are most close to altmer obvi in the -#- sense of how 'mutated' they r. however maormer are more gross looking for the typical human #they do have flat faces and alldat in canon already but i want them to just have nostrils and no real nose bridge #and they have no lips😝 they also have very visible gums. && have anglerfish teeth #what would be fur on other mer is just scales on them and is placed is scattered in the same places #i was thinking of making swimming most comfortable for them so i gave them more fins #they'd have them on arms and legs and the hair on the tail for them is just a big fin🐠#as for hair i'm thinking of them having none of it at all bcos it looks sooooo ugly on them it's very unnerving to see hair on fish #either no hair at all or something with a different texture. like slimy silky thin seaweed #or the hair that m*necraft striders have LMAO #webbed fingers is cuuuute they'd have webbed armpits like they're those flying rodents🐿 lol #i'd place their gills on both the neck and their ribs #whenever they wear clothes they tie their arm and leg fins up ; i think from birth they just stay in water until they hit puberty and -#- r able to actually walk around #another cute fact is that males and females wud look literally the same almost (women are flat chested too)#fish fish fish #maybe i'll rethink some stuff. i still wanna draw fish babies #but in reality i think even the mere existence of maormer is very pointless bc they don't really matter at all do they #tes lore is soooo overstuffed that's why i don't know anything about it my time is so valuable to meLMFAOAOOO #saw a typo in this sorry i'm just chill like that

mentioned Ibe in the previous post so in case anyone doesn't know him he is a doctor who makes medical illustrations showing black people.

and my personal favourite:

#dengue one is personal yeah I got comments on how at least it doesn't look so bad on my skin #because lighskin as I am rash still looks more brown than bright pink on me. but we associate it with the bright pink spots #even if it's mainly pardas and black women catching it so yeah it changed something in me seeing a black man in the drawing #it's not by him I think the illustrator is a woman doctor even but his association does have a drawing of a black woman bit by a mosquito #which isn't something I expected myself to be so excited and emotional about but. yeah #my first contact with him was in one of my classes in college about publishing school materials #and fuck if it didn't solidify a lot of reflection about the images that go on textbooks #which yes. includes women only appearing if the condition is exclusively of the female sex in this #but fuck if his work didn't make me cry. I'm an educator and the daughter of a black healthcare professional. and I never thought about it #how every single anatomical drawing I had seen in my life and even photographs of medical conditions. had been of white people #I come from a predominantly black family with a history of skin cancer dammit.
