I don't think Belos is taking it very well
First part (You are here) >> Next Part
First batch of this little series, inspired by @petitprincess1's idea! I couldn't get this scenario out of my head so of course I drew it.
Get ready because it will have at least 8 pages! Probably my longest comic yet
There will be some angst but the violence will overall be canon-typical!

[At the store, Halloween]
Belos to Luz: Put that candy back! I'm not buying you that me-
Luz: *throws bag of candy corn straight at his face*
Belos, stuck on the floor bc he's fucking 300yo: Try me, bitch!
~~~
[Sees the statue]
Belos: We meet again, Caleb. I'm still ALIVE, asshole!!
Luz: *hides her face inside of her beanie*
Dark Secret
So! Danny was discovered pretty quickly after his first battle against the Lunch Lady. His hair turned white, and his body shape was a little different, but he largely looked very similar to his Human Form, so it was only a matter of time really.
Thankfully he was assumed to be a Metahuman.
He didn't look like any other Ghost, the closest resemblance was his hair and eye color, but even that could be explained away. Also his parents were adamant that he couldn't be a Ghost because he was still Sentient and not Evil, so he must just have powers that just looked similar to Ghost Powers esthetically. Probably as a result of the Portal Accident, which he used as an explanation for how his powers awakened.
Danny also avoided using the more obvious Ghost Powers like Intangiblity and Invisiblity, sticking mostly to the most basic Flight and Energy based Powers he got to be as generic as possible. If anybody saw otherwise, it was a trick of the light or a trick of the Ghosts.
Danny became the Hero of Amity Park, always pretending to be something else. It was his darkest secret.
Unfortunately because the public never saw a Ghost like Phantom on a positive light, their perception of Ghosts never changed. Nobody believed that Ghosts could be anything aside from Evil, and as the knowledge of Ghosts and the Ghost Zone began to spread around the world that perception became more and more commonplace.
If Danny had been revealed in the early days, it could have been salvageable, but nowadays if his secret was revealed he would have to convince the entire world that everything they knew about Ghosts was wrong. It would practically be impossible.
Even when he joined the Justice League when he became an Adult, he still had to hide his secret. Years of hiding made sure he could conceal his true Nature from the magic users on the team, but he still had to be distant from the team just to be sure.
While all this was going on in the Living Realm, his adventures in the Ghost Zone still happened as normal. He saved Pandora and the Acropolis, dethroned the Tyrant King Aragon, managed to defeat Pariah Dark in Single combat, and even became recognized as a Great Warrior by the Far Frozen.
After years of hiding, he actually felt more at home in the Ghost Zone than in the Human Realm. There he could be his true self without having to hide a huge part of his identity, and people accepted him for who he was. Sure he had enemies there, but he also had more real friends outside of Tucker and Sam.
He was content with his double life, acting as a Hero to the Public while hiding his true self, and secretly going to the Ghost Zone to be himself among his friends and even his enemies.
Of course it all came crashing down when he Anti Ecto Acts finally passed.
Now there was a Legal Path for Humans to enter and profit off of the Ghost Zone. Beyond just being able to legally kill and experiment on Ghosts, the Acts also allowed Humans to claim parts of the Ghost Zone as their own Property, enslaving the Ghosts residing there, and destroying the Ecosystem of the Zone because there were no laws preventing it.
And now Danny had a choice.
He could either side with the Humans to which he was a Hero, allowing them to destroy the Ghost Zone and Enslave the denizens living there with the full support of the Government, or he could side with the Ghost Zone, betraying Humanity and the people he had been protecting for years, but trying to save those who had accepted him for his true self years ago.
To him the answer was obvious.
You know what @f4nd0m-fun I literally finished this last night, so here, have the lil baby hydra. From several prompts.
Tumblr media
They're still mostly baby colors, which is all monochrome, but are juuust starting to get more colors like their underbellies and their heads are starting to lighten up, but will start shifting color eventually.
Which makes me wonder what kind of thing might happen if someone tries to study the realm hydras....
(Also have a prompt in the tags lol)
They're soulmates in every single universe and I miss them at the most random times.
#my characters#haha funny thing is that venus doesnt even exist in base plot she is ONLY for AUs#in base plot ego the ginger guy is a prince and serenity the navy haired guy is an energy alien#and serenity takes on the form of a human to be fake engaged to ego and its never meant to actually end up with them married#but serenity falls in love with the prince and feels immense guilt when they meet up#and then ego is like HAHA YEAH my life is the greatest cause i get to marry my best friend but technically youre best friend by default#since i have zero other friends because i cannot leave the castle which kinda sucks but whatever#and serenity can give his life force to others to keep them healthy and usually stops by to heal egos younger brother#so he looks tired a lot bc he is depleting his own life to help others#and and in au versions hes just chronically tired and very much in love with ego who is completely oblivious#and half the time they (bc theyre mine) are pining mutually thinking ahaha theres no WAY hed like me#or in egos case a lot of the time in the au its what if he only likes me cause i spoil him rotten bc im super wealthy and i love gifting#and serenity ! in base plot since he is an alien from like... space.... basically... another realm#he resides with another royal family in a different kingdom and the king there treats him like a son#which plays into the au versions where serenity is adopted and he just really loves his dad a lot#like really admires the man who adopted him and raised him as a single father who almost always has a connection to egos dad since#in base theyre just two kings being buddies and trying to get good relations between their kingdoms#but anyway ego is one of the few ocs i have that will actively say#I LOVE YOU SO MUCH : D very openly and i love that for him??#not a lot of my ocs will be that open about their feelings but ego is very good at communication and talking and stuff#compared to serenity who is an alien who doesnt even have to talk where he originated bc the aliens are just blue energy blobs#and they sense each other and communicate silently#so making him take a human form is like MMMM not sure how to interact like a normal human tbh#i owe art to one person then i am able to get back to indulgent stuff for me and reqs and stuff#this was just so i had something to post today since idk if the art i owe someone will be cool to post or not
genuinely one of the things that make me the most sad about s2 is just that dood had paeden/hermie syndrome and was just kinda forgotten until they were plot relevant. like i totally understand why (i can imagine dm npcs in the party are hard to keep track of/dm is more focused on the actual players) but the personification of an unknowable eldritch horror as a young, very impressionable, very unstable teenager who needs to be taught by other very unstable teenagers morals and how to be a human is such an intriguing concept but in the end not much is done with it outside of a few moments. they just kinda exist as a plot device and to restate the theme. and like thats fine, i just mourn what could've been yknow
yeah at first Astrid’s whole “Tofoten is my home, I couldn’t leave it” thing just looks like a sneaky retcon for why she wasn’t in the show before and I mean, it absolutely is, but knowing her whole story lends it so much more weight like-
it’s clear Astrid originally didn’t care much for the human world - she didn’t want to engage with humans when she and her brother snuck in, didn’t want to be seen there, she happily spent long stretches of time in the fairy isle while her brother stayed. she mentions that she stopped coming when phinium & lydia got together - not, went somewhere else in the human world to give them some space. just stayed out of it altogether. she clearly liked being in the fairy isle more and the only real appeal of the human world was spending time with phinium. she says the only reason she even ventured back was because she missed him
so, phinium says he’s staying in the human world, and astrid chooses him and this new family over her home. they move to Tofoten, presumably because it’s the most closely connected place to the fairy isle what with the fairy mounds etc. she settles in to this new place and her new role in this family. and then she loses phinium anyway. more than that, she can’t even return to the fairy isle to see him and lydia again because their daughter is still here and she needs her. astrid moved her whole life to this world so they could stay together and now she’s staying there alone, with a child to take care of and a purpose in life that should’ve been theirs
so…yeah, Astrid can’t bring herself to leave Tofoten. you could argue it’s because it’s full of fairy magic so it feels the most familiar, the closest to home. but it’s also the house where they set up as a family and the place where things were good and they were all together, and that’s all she has left. no wonder she couldn’t leave
Another little au snippet by me
cw: major character death, extreme body horror, gore, insects / parasites / worms, animal death, fucked up creatures and monsters
When Grian dies, Scar is expected to mourn. He is not exactly the mourning type, and he doesn’t think Grian would want him to be.
He is, however, the necromancy type. And he’s sure that’s why Grian married him, anyway, so anyone who tries to tell him this isn’t what she would have wanted is completely wrong.
It takes a bit of effort, and a lot of reading, which he hates, but eventually he figures it out. So what if it’s extremely illegal and dangerous? He’s not just going to let his wife rot in the ground like some dead thing. She’s not dead because he said so.
With a book in his hand, the world splits in front of him like thick, yellow belly fat under a curved blade. A dead rabbit bleeds into the earth, red staining his boots, and before him, the gateway to the world of magic shines with bright, delicate energy.
There, inside the magic realm, he meets gods who say they will bring his Grian back. They help him navigate the impossible, and offer a trade of sorts. A sacrifice. It’s easy to agree. All they want is precious metal, and Scar has plenty lying about.
So, without much trouble at all, Grian comes back. She’s… a little shaken up, but overall quite happy to be alive again. It is a shame that she can’t really leave their house - a quaint little cottage in the woods - but Scar makes up for it by giving her all the affection in the world. And she still smiles the same as she always used to.
He does have to continue the sacrifices, which means more trips to the magic realm. Sometimes this means animals, sometimes food, sometimes gemstones and gold. He steals the beautiful jewelry he once bought Grian, then their wedding silver, and bizarrely, photographs of them together.
And he doesn’t tell Grian, but he’s certain she knows. Yet, he doesn’t want to talk about it. What he’s been doing. What he’s seen in that place where reality no longer makes sense.
Within the magic realm there are monsters and psychological terrors that mess with your mind and make everything seem like it’s been turned inside out. Like the world has been gutted and is bleeding all over itself. The creatures are horrific and ravenous, the things that look like people are faceless shadows that consume whatever they touch, and still somehow seem to be looking at you.
A constant feeling of being watched causes paranoia and anxiety. There is no water, only rivers that run with red tar, and rain that falls like thick, glossy blood. There are beings who can render you non-existent in a matter of seconds, crushing all of the atoms from your body into nothing before you can even understand what's happening. There are extreme changes in atmosphere and pressure, threatening to pull your insides outward if you take a step too soon.
Empty valleys that drop off sharply into a deep, deep abyss crowded with swirling, ghostly serpents. Trees that tower up high into the misty sky, so far and so grand they make you feel impossibly small. And in the distance, through the fog, something even larger moves its shambling, dripping limbs towards you.
Massive insectoid creatures, bodies twitching, jumbled, wet messes of flesh, thousands of legs outstretched ready to grip onto the nearest surface and bite. Worms writhing in colourful dirt, looking for a patch of exposed skin to burrow under, parasitic eggs ready to be laid. Deer with razor-sharp antlers stained a rusty blue, and empty eye holes covering their backs, walking on six mangled legs each.
Territorial beasts, sneaking demons, the very environment itself is hostile. Hostile to any sane mortal wishing to penetrate its dense wilderness. To reach any godly shrine or mystical water of life.
Scar is guided, and lucky, because he is there for a deal, but he has to learn how to survive like anyone else. And it's a sharp, severe, learning curve.
There are people here, Scar thinks. He hears them before he sees them, his third or fourth time entering the maze of jungle and bone. There is a sort of screaming, gurgling sound that could have maybe been human, once.
It disturbs him for weeks, keeping him up at night despite never once seeing the poor soul behind the strange sound.
Later, much later, while bringing the last of his wedding jewelry to the gods in the forest, he stumbles upon them. Or, some of them. He presumes there are more. Somewhere else deep in the sprawling realm.
Strung up between the branches of trees and jagged spikes of rock are four, or five, things that might have been humans. Some, what scar would assume are the lucky ones, are held there splayed out by something akin to rope, twisting into and under their skin and wrapping around their splintered bones. The others are held up by their own entrails, their intestines opened up and unravelled like vines to keep them in place.
They do not look like people anymore, but they are still screaming. Screaming in deranged, wet tones. One, the one closest to Scar as he walked into the scene, is a sort of mangled, degloved, fleshy thing, their body more a slab of meat than anything remotely humanoid.
Where arms and legs may have once been, there are stubs of rancid, rotting carnage, which exudes a thick yellow fluid onto the ground below the suspended body. In their stomach cavity, worms and parasites writhe grotesquely, so multitudinous they can barely be distinguished from the body's own flesh. They have no face, a sliver that might be a mouth, and blank, empty holes where eyes could have been, all infested with more disgusting creatures.
The worst part, scar thinks, is that they seem aware, whining and wailing around the maggots. How they remained alive, Scar has no idea.
The other bodies are not much better off. Some still have limbs and faces, but they are so distorted and jumbled together they aren't distinguishable as individuals. The ones with skin are covered in legions, scratches, and bile, the skin itself rubbery and overstretched.
Each of the bodies moan and sob torturously, and yet Scar can't bear to look away. Or help. Or move. How would he help them? How could he?
Then, the thought catches up with him that something must have done this to these people. These things were human once, like him. And perhaps if it comes back, it will catch him and torture him all the same.
Guilt wells up in his throat when he turns to leave, the weight of the golden necklace in his pocket like lead. He could wish for these people to be made whole again. To be freed and set out back into the natural world. He could help them. He could use this sacrifice for good, rather than greed.
And as always, his mind wanders back to Grian. Grian, who won't talk about the afterlife. Who refuses to eat most days, despite being fully able to. Who Scar has found vomiting into the toilet, or rocking back and forth with hands in her hair, in the middle of the night. Who simply is not the same as she was, even though she's trying so hard.
He thinks this might not be a realm of magic at all. He thinks it might be Hell.
It's then that scar's mind is made up, and it's then that he decides to stop thinking about the people in the forest, however many there might be. Because he can't sacrifice Grian, of all things. He can't bring her here. He refuses.
And so, he continues, out to find god.
In which Luz gets isekai-ed another way
First part >> Next Part
Remember folks, look both ways before crossing the road or this might happen to YOU! This was an advert from the Road Safety Agency (it's not).
Oops, I just dropped the angst! I can reveal that it's inspired by this original post, although I'll put my own spin on it so don't think you know what's gonna happen!
Reblogging again because of the comic update. I won't always do this btw ;3c
Random, but I gotta get this out before me head explodes:
So, I had a dream of how King's Tide would end. Let's say that everything worked as it did, except Collector took away Belos's powers and turned him back into a human. Somehow, during all the madness, Luz and Belos end up getting knocked into the portal. Ofc, it's only there for one trip. The pain of the Draining Spell has already been reversed by the Collector. Luz is panicking and Belos is slightly joyful about being in the Human Realm, but then immediately gets pissed when he realized his work was never done. His staff got pushed inside the portal by Collector, so he uses it again. She tries to persuade him all "Hey, hey! You wouldn't shoot a defenseless, small, teenage....." She then stops when she sees Belos raise an eyebrow at her and dashes off into the woods.
Luz continues running away as Belos chases after her, shooting more of the artificial magic at her as she tries to get away. She goes towards a road and continues to run across it, hoping to lose him. However, everything suddenly becomes slow as a truck begins speeding toward her. Luz simply turns her head towards the headlights and her eyes widen, making her think that her life can't end here. It just can't! Not with everyone suffering in the Demon Realm.
As the truck tries to brake, Luz suddenly levitates and gets pulled back to the side of the road. She breathes heavily as she holds onto whoever's arm is around her and turns to see Belos, staring in complete shock. He doesn't know what else to say except "What is....*that*?" Luz then looks back at the truck as the driver comes out and profusely apologizes to her and her "grandfather". She takes a deep breath and asks Belos "So....still need that guide?"
This is how the two slowly get to know each other and somewhat bond. They get close but in a frenemy kind of way. Like you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours kind of truce. Belos teaches Luz more about the sigils, while Luz teaches Belos about the Earth.
Belos's biases get challenged as he learns more about how Earth has changed and even Luz's gets challenged, as she learns slowly about Belos's past. Even though she does not forgive him, she understands that it's not like her books. It's not nearly as straight and narrow as it is to say someone's evil. There were complexities and reasons for actions, none justifiable but still. It makes things more complicated for her when she realizes that anyone can go down this path.
....Insert people loving Belos's staff and cosplay x3
Idk if ANY of this makes any sense or even is remotely good. But it sounds like fun and a way to get to know a more "human" Belos. He probably would still die in the end, but I feel like it would come from a sense of closure than defeat. Plus, bonus suffering when they get back as he tries to kill Luz once more after the Collector takes over him, but then stops when he sees Caleb's ghost protecting her.
Vee and Hunter could SO pass off as half siblings to make it easier to explain the situation in the human realm. Like. I feel like Vee would be the one to quickfire responses that just ends up being their "story".
People see that Camila is fostering/adopted one child. But then here comes another boy that seems to come and go as he pleases but the entire family seems to refer to him as their brother/son so easily.
Im imagining like, a family gathering where Hunter's invited and someone asks about Hunter and theyre all kinda sweating at the questions being asked until Vee pulls out some shit like "Oh Hunter's actually my half brother. Yeah. Same mom different dad. We lived with our uh... not so great uncle for a WHILE.. after our... mom.. died.. and we got adopted by two different people but we're still siblings yknow? He comes around and we treat him like our own.. cuz he is our own.. yeah."
Then just like that, there's the easiest way to explain it!! Vee and Hunter def pass as half siblings to me.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
@skittykittybean @grievingangelhopefuldemon @vesselofmanythings
Wait holy fuck when did you guys get here
Uhhhhh
I guess take this? It’s been sitting unfinished for a while, so I’ll just…
“Why would we want to stay away from the Reikai?”
“Well, I don’t know if you’ve heard of Japanese mythology, but most of the many, many creatures pictured throughout are absolutely terrifying.”
“So? You’re stronger than they are. I thought we established that when you fought those demons.”
Danny paused. His mouth opened and closed, no noise escaping. Finally he found the words he was looking for. “Ah. I… didn’t do a very good job at explaining power balance in the Realms. That’s my bad, I guess.”
“What are you saying?” Tim asked, dread already creeping into his tone.
“Well… Many of the creatures that live here do so on the basis of belief. Ghosts are somewhat believed universally, therefore no matter where we go, we are always very strong. However, other creatures are strongest in their own subsection. Like, Kitsune are ridiculously powerful. I might be able to defeat like, six or seven tails. But if we were to go through their territory, their power nearly doubles, and suddenly I can barely scrape by handling one with two tails. Get it?”
Dc x dp idea 21
Danny reveals phantom to his parents. They seemingly take it well. Life continues as normal. They don’t hunt phantom but still going after other ghost.
Slowly things start to change. His parents ask him to do things for them. Like let them take his blood or do some seemingly harmless test. All under the claim that it’s for Danny’s best interest. To make speciality medicine and what not.
The Fenton parents get more and more deadly with other ghosts. Weapons are more effective their containing cells fully work. Danny is just happy there not hunting him and ghost are out less.
It’s only when they hurt a ghost to the point it goes into his core it’s a problem.
Danny can’t just chuck the core into the ghost zone and call it good. Some ghost could absorb it to make themselves stronger or something.
So Danny ditches his screaming parents takes the core and goes. He leaves unaware of his parents plans for him and the core.
The minute he leaves amity Constantine and any magic users can feel the presence of the infinite realm. 2 of them 1 extremely injured.
Danny ends up in Gotham cause there is ectoplasm there. That way the core can heal quicker.
There is a hunt for Danny and he doesn’t realize it. Both his parents and the JLD. One to help the other to hurt.
I currently have two timelines for my New Ancient of Darkness Au
Timeline 1: Bruce is one of the Justice League founders, continues to do his best to hide his increasingly ghostliness with every year and avoiding Justice League Dark because he has heard stories about Constantine. It doesn't matter if Danny finds him hilarious. He's the Justice League's cryptid where his friends just think he's a little shy and Gotham is just like that.
Timeline 2: Bruce lets his anxiety and paranoia get ahold of him, especially with how he's just taken in Dick and Jason, and doesn't join the League. And straight up becomes a cryptid as Batman. Where his children become liminal far faster and the still human part of him feels so guilty while the ghostly part is giddy to have little ghostlings. There are now rumors about some sort of shadow child of Gotham, some sort of clan of creatures that the League will eventually investigate.
