BRO AND W/ THE BEAST SOUNDS

i think they have?? multiple grows?? stay with me now-

there's growls that are mildly threatening, smth small that are used as a warning (think of like,, animals getting nipped during play and they get annoyed; it's a sort of growl that says "hey i didn't like that")

AND THEN there's the growls that are actually threatening, like they're wildly pissed off, and in my head they sound eldritch, like something you would never hear on earthbread, something that awakens primal fear in cookies (altho all growls sound different, they cause the same effect)

i can imagine w/ all the beasts in yandere contexts (altho smilk is always on my mind), when their darling escapes that growl leaves them and the jam (?) of everyone around gets cold. or they catch their darling mid-escape attempt and growl like that, to scare the darling out of ever trying that again (picture smilk growling like that while his darling is almost out of the spire, the darling freezes, and he picks them up by the scruff and drags them back to his bedroom *ahem, nest*, no words needed; as a side note, i think the darling would never expect a sound like that to leave smilk, which is even more terrifying and they remember that truly, at the end of the day, they're dealing w/ an eldritch god)

The very very few (two) mutuals from my mains/discord that I allow to see this blog will read this and look at me like 😒 because projecting animal linguistics and animal behaviors/socialization onto animal-like characters are like, the only things I ever talk about.

I cannot imagine in any universe that any Beast (that have so far been released) other than Shadow Milknwould ever he angry that you escaped, even the yabdwre versions. Burning Spice Cookie delights in having another chance to hunt you down like a prized buck, and Mystic Flour Cookie is so emotionally balanced and capable that any feelings or urgency or dissatisfaction can be tempered before she brings you back herself.

Burning Spice Cookie, upon seeing your nest empty and your scent stale, would growl in excitement. He'd climb atop the highest ledge and let out a loud bellow; not of rage but a rallying call, a mighty sound that carries for miles. Whereever you may be, it's most likely you hear it, and so does any other spice warrior in the vicnity. Burning Spice Cookie wants to let everyone in his territory know that the hunt is on.

Mystic Flour Cookie is mostly unpreturbed by your escape, she knows you won't be gone for long. Her vocalizations are mostly saved for you anyway; so the most you'll hear is a chuff or a deep sigh as soon as she curls your arms around you to take you home.

Even as yanderes, those two are pretty "well adjusted", for Beasts anyway, that they won't immediately fly off the rail in anger if they find you missing. Surprisingly, yandere Burning Spice Cookie is slower to anger than yandere Shadow Milk Cookie for several reasons (BS isn't nearly as insecure, for one very important reason).

Shadow Milk Cookie, though? It would be a straight up lie to say that Shadow Milk Cookie doesn't enjoy scaring the wits out of you when you step out of line. Either through his illusions or his straight up Eldritch Call that basically says "You little annoying gnat, stop right where you are." in unholy monster language. But make no mistake, it pisses him off when he has to go fetch you again.

He's possessive in a way that feels more personal and targeted than even Burning Spice Cookie, and he's unrelenting in a way that feels more restricting than Mystic Flour Cookie.

Even Black Sapphire Cookie and Candy Apple Cookie can't help but back off when they hear Shadow Milk Cookie snarl so dreadfully like that. They don't risk getting in his way to bring you back and discipline you; they know he's got a handle on that.

She is the most caring, loving, funny, energetic, talkative person I ever met. It appears some assumptions have already been made about me, so let me set the record straight about what I believe exactly.

I am a fan of Luke and Nicola first and foremost.

I do/will not bring things up to "shade" either of them but I will not sugar coat the things they have done or rewrite history to make you feel better.

2. Luke and Nicola are NOT together.

No, this isn't my opinion. It is a fact. And no I won't back down on this point to cater to your sad delusions, hopes or wishes. I'm not here to pacify you or "keep you on the ship".

3. Nicola is NOT pregnant.

You should feel ashamed to be promoting this crazy ass theory out in public spaces and if you don't I have the lovely task of making that happen 😘

4. Luke and Antonia are dating and have been together for over a year now.

You can live in your fantasy land if you like but they are together and whether you want to believe it or not it does not change anything as again, THIS IS A FACT.

5. Nicola and Jake are dating.

If for every instance Jake has been in with Nicola this summer was with Luke instead no one in the fandom would have any reservations about saying they are dating. If you want to believe otherwise that is on you but Jake is who Nicola is spending most of her time with regardless of how you feel.

6. The season 3 press tour was not "all PR".

A lot of what we witnessed between Nicola and Luke was their real chemistry. They have know each other for 5+ years now and we saw that knowledge and chemistry play out over several months. It was so raw and palpable at times that there is simply no denying they have unresolved feelings for each other.

There is a possible future for them but they are not together now.

After watching the BS that has been popping up in this space over the past few months I have finally decided that there needs to be a "checks and balance" of sorts.

Stay tuned lovelies, I'm ready to piss people off.

Hazbin & Helluva Vs. Aromanticism

(Aka: I have a problem with the Spindlehorse team about this, not shippers.)

(Also this is mainly about Alastor but can go for Octavia and Mammon too.)

Alright, so I've cleaned up this uh... rant, to make things a little more clear hopefully. But to summarize here, this is about the team's lack of commitment when every other character is allowed full confirmation of their orientations but these (potentially) aromantic characters aren't.

While I have no beef with shippers (I think you can ship whoever with whoever you want, I ship Alastor too on occasion), there is some conversation about how the fandom might be a bit of a reason WHY they "can't" be confirmed as aro. But again, my main problem is more with the showrunners than the fandom at this point about this.

I'll also be getting into why it's "important" and the double standards against characters being aromantic.

This is not an attack, ship however way you wish (again, I do it myself). My intent isn't really to stop the shipping, that would be ridiculous. But more so to give my thoughts on why it's BS characters like Alastor can't be confirmed as aromantic when other characters are allowed confirmed orientations.

I will start off by saying I don't mind the shipping of Alastor. While it's NOBODY'S business but mine, I suppose it's important to clarify that I'm someone who does currently identify as aroace. I might be wrong but who cares, it's how I think of myself now at least to some degree (I do after all still have fictional crushes. Real-life romance is not an interest for me though, don't like 'em).

I'm gonna get what I don't think people talk about enough on both sides of being for and against shipping Alastor, and then I'll talk about the shippers as they're (I realized) not my main issue at this point.

A little history: So Alastor has been long time confirmed as an ace character. He hasn't been confirmed as being sex-repulsed or anything, but I can personally say I don't mind either flavor of him being repulsed or favorable (though I imagine the series will lean towards the former to counter everyone else's sex-favorable attitude and for jokes). This statement was initially taken VERY poorly by fans who, at the time, were shipping radiodust and radiobelle/charlastor, one more than the other. Care to take a guess which? The answer will not surprise you.

But then people realized "Oh, asexual doesn't mean he COULDN'T get with someone" and people even went further to "Being asexual doesn't mean he CAN'T have sex", both very true statements. So shipping was back on the menus boys! And his asexual was certainly blurred a bit (to the point where it wasn't even him being sex-favorable asexual as much as just not asexual, something that still happens but certainly not as bad). But overall, people were taking his canonicity as asexual with as much grace as a duck.

So here's where MY problem comes in. While I have some gripes with shippers, I had an epiphany that "Oh. It's not really the shippers I have a problem with. It's the people WRITING THE DAMN CHARACTER". Which, might I just say, is so much worst.

The shippers, while they got annoying at some points and certainly can be still, are just having fun. Because shipping just happens to be the way most people like to interact with characters in the media they're into. Hell, I am no different. I just have the misfortune of only really getting into rarepairs most of the time (curse you my bizarre tastes). I've even shipped with Alastor, I like AngelicSmile/radiojoy quite a bit.

Back on track. Now, what do I mean by my main problem being with the writers more than the fans with this? Well, queue this darling of a clip about the topic (this is the only clip I've found of the live stream, feel free to watch the whole video but just wanted the clip here).

This. Single. Clip. Infuriates me.

Vivzi, while I'm sure not meant to, pretty much implied "Alastor being aromantic and 'non-shippable' would ruin people's fun". I'm sure she meant it as a way to keep others from policing shippers (which didn't work, it still happens), it really just reads as "a character being aromantic is not a fun character". Like there's something wrong with being aro.

Not to mention some other things that would contradict this statement:

Viv in the past said "fans are allowed to ship outside character orientations", so... what makes that so different here with confirming Alastor as aromantic?

It being confirmed is not relevant to the plot. Great, so is every other orientation not relevant. Why can't Alastor be confirmed as aromantic but Vaggie can be confirmed as a lesbian or Vox bi? What does Vox being bisexual have to do with the plot? Neither is relevant to the plot, but one can be confirmed but not the other?

People were gonna ship him ANYWAY. Like, there's really no point in pretending. They were going to anyway because of the first point I already mentioned, but also people ship against canon orientations ALL THE TIME. It's just gonna happen and there's nothing wrong with that in of itself.

You've kind of just implied it's canon by not wanting to say specifically him being aromantic is canon or not. If Viv had just said "I don't wanna confirm his romantic orientation because...", then this statement would be fine and fair I suppose. But she had to call out him being aromantic specifically. And I mean, he COULD be something else (he was slated to be a couple with Mimzy originally after all), but the context doesn't seem like that would be the case. Plus, would she really feel the need to hold back from saying "Alastor is homoromantic" or biromantic or heteroroman- actually yes for that last one probably.

So riddle me this, with these points, why the FUCK would it be so wrong to confirm Alastor as a canonically aromantic icon and help get MORE REP for this very very very VERY underrepresented orientation? And I've thought of a few reasons to this, one of which being to avoid the same backlash that they got for Alastor being ace. Which, DID HAPPEN WHEN THE VOICE ACTOR AND SOMEONE ELSE ON THE SHOW CONFIRMED ALASTOR AS AROMANTIC BUT BACKTRACKED ON THE STATEMENT.

To which, fine. THAT'S on the fans (especially as no one would've complained if he was confirmed as homoromantic, which is a double standard VERY PRESENT in this fandom, but also many others quite honestly). But I can see another reason is to avoid others policing shippers about it.

Which, if that's the case, shit luck it's happening anyway.

To cower away from this orientation because of fans being upset says a lot, both about the fans and the creators. There is a whisper of "Alastor isn't allowed to be aromantic". That "being aro isn't allowed or appreciated".

We live in a world that at this point has a lot more lgbtq+ characters than ever before. At this point, there's just a lot of gay/lesbian and bi characters, and that's wonderful. But, there's barely a handful of aroace characters. And when they are, nobody wants to pay attention to that part of the character. So why can't the deer man be aromantic? I would imagine it would honestly make things a little better ship wise because ship wars wouldn't occur seeing as, well, there's no ship to be fought for. None of them could be canon.

So you might see where I'm leading into this, but I can only really think of one real reason Alastor being aromantic just "can't be confirmed" where as everyone else's orientations can be.

His popularity. Like, that's weird but walk with me here. Alastor is the most popular character in the fandom. There's honestly no denying it, he just is. And what do people do with the most popular character?

THEY SHIP THEM OFF IN A LOVEBOAT.

But wait, if he's aromantic, he can't be on a love boat. THIS IS BS-

And then... the outcry. And we HAVE seen this happen. I mentioned before, he was stated to be aromantic on two occasions by two people who work on the show, one of which is his voice actor (which I'll be fair, I personally don't think VAs always know the characters they play the best, that's the writers). But they had to backpedal because people DID complain. People WERE upset. So it's kind of shown just aromantism isn't really welcomed, at the very least not for a character like Alastor.

And that's the key: "Not for a character like Alastor". But if it were say, Niffty or Mimzy who are either overlooked or just not very popular, THEN it's probably more than okay for a character to be aromantic. Because no one wants to ship with them much, so they can be aromantic all they want.

AKA. The aro community is allowed the scraps but not the dinner.

At this point, you've probably noticed I switched gears from the creators to the fans because I DO think they could be a reason why Alastor "can't" be confirmed as Aromantic. I'll give credit, I'm pretty sure it's mainly on twitter and wouldn't be surprised if it was a "loud minority" thing going on, but the people have spoken. They vehemently cannot STAND the idea of Alastor being aromantic.

But I don't have a problem with these people quite honestly- I mean I kinda do, but my main issue is the lack of commitment when the other characters are allowed confirmed orientations. Why can't aromantic people get confirmed rep? Because "it'll ruin people's fun?" That's such a crappy reason because it's just saying being aro is bad on some level or isn't okay. Why can't the aromantic community get the dinner this ONE TIME? It's one character in a pool of many others that are canonically gay or bi, so why can't the aro community have this ONE popular character?

I'm not even asking for people to stop shipping him, I think that's perfectly FINE. It wouldn't change the canon. I'd appreciate more LOVE given to the aromantic identity (and I'm talking about the far end of it, so absolutely NO interest in romance as many have used aro Alastor but it still comes off as just normal shipping, but that's just me). There's such a double standard to the treatment of aromantic characters to the other characters in these shows (because Octavia and Mammon are in the same boat here), and the reasons given are so crappy that they sound more like off-hand excuses.

Again, I don't MIND people shipping Alastor, or Octavia, or Mammon who is randomly shipped with Adam the most. Let me repeat:

YOU. ARE. ALLOWED. TO. SHIP. THESE. CHARACTER.

But what I have a problem with is that these characters aren't allowed to be OFFICIALLY aromantic. How would it feel if this was a gay character? That they didn't want to confirm it but there's been indications with past statements and even in-universe stuff indicating so? I WANT Viv and her team to STICK with what route they were gonna go with.

And some might argue "what's so bad with nothing being confirmed?" Other than the fact every other character's orientations are allowed confirmation and Viv's crappy way of putting it in not confirming anything. There's, by all technicalities, nothing wrong.

However, if I may pose a counter, why is it fair for people to demand or ask for gay representation or confirmation but not aromantic? Because it's "not ruining anything"? If that's the case, I'm inclined to say that may be a bit aphobic. Because how is it that a character being aromantic can "ruin" the character or something, but a character being gay DOESN'T "ruin" the character. It's a double standard that I don't think most people realize or want to say because you don't want to be dissing on gay stuff.

But WAKE UP SHEEPLE. The gay stuff has PLENTY of things by this point. Whether through fan works or official media, it is growing and it is growing rapidly. And we should be HAPPY about that. But alternatively, Aromantic (and asexual) rep BARELY gets any attention in either fan works or official media. People would be UPSET if a ship like Angel Dust X Vaggie or Stolas X Verosika got into one of the top most popular ships. But Alastor? Nah, it's fine.

Again, while I don't mind the shipping itself, hopefully, you can understand how it might feel to see one of the most popular ships involve a character that goes against their orientation and it's YOUR orientation. It doesn't. Feel. Great.

And not everyone who ships Alastor even would LIKE him to end up with who they ship. Some people just like it staying in fanon. I have met SO MANY nice people who ship Alastor with characters that I personally don't really like him shipped with. But it's clear that I don't think THEY'D mind if he was confirmed aromantic because it doesn't change their life. They'll still keep shipping him because that's fun for them and that's FINE. People explore themselves through characters with confirmed orientations and they don't always line up with canon, and that's FINE. I don't think people should be policed on shipping with the deer man, they're just having fun. Would I appreciate a little more love for the aro identity? Sure (I mean just look at Alastor's ship weeks activeness vs. his aro week activeness), but if that's not how people have fun they shouldn't be forced to do stuff with it.

But Alastor being seemingly "not allowed" to be confirmed as aro has set a precedent that there's something wrong with being aromantic. And personally, it makes me feel a tad unwelcomed sometimes.

It's the precedents. Again, why is every other character's orientation allowed to be confirmed but Alastor's isn't? What is so wrong with him being aromantic? Hell, he might not even BE aromantic. But at least I'd KNOW instead of floundering around hoping upon a star for some aromantic representation.

It's okay to be gay but- WHOA HOLD YOUR HORSES THERE. WE'RE GONNA HAVE TO PUT A PAUSE IN THAT ARO BUSINESS YOU GOT THERE.

A character's worth is in how shippable they are. And if they're aromantic, they're not shippable. And unfortunately, there are just enough people to throw a hissy fit about it that Viv doesn't want to confirm it.

Because apparently being aromantic would "ruin" things.

he sleeps outside his tent in armour (they wake him n others at night for council about spies, Dio volunteers, he gets to pick a second, he goes for Ody, ody didnt rly want to go, Dio choose him anyway despite deserting him)

Dio and ody face the spy of the trojans Dolon, (hiding between corpses) he almost runs away but Athena “is fighting to be known” doesnt want someone else to strike first, so she makes Diomedes throw the spear and orders him to stop, Dolon tells them good gossip, including white horses, Dio kills him

they do some more bs, like killing people in their sleep (dio) and stealing horses (ody) dio considers unaliving more until athena suggests he may stop so other gods dont get jealous

Okay, I need to rant. But can buddies please fucking stop with the dinosaur/disgusting old man/crypt keeper comments? For fucks sakes. Yeah, their ageism is, honestly, fucking disgusting. I understand how those comments may have hurt you, and I am so very sorry you felt this way. Perhaps hot take, and please educate me if I'm wrong, but it is my perception that the majority of the people making these claims are overall rather young adults / old teens (the majority that I've seen women, though I'm sure it is not exclusive to them) that do not know how it is to be an adult and have adult relationships. Their take on Tommy's age is disturbing and upsetting, and does not make sense.

Also, isn't Eddie/RG like only two years-ish younger than him? Not to say I want them to attack him, but I am saying that they hide in ageism, just like they hide when they yell racism for a comment Tommy made twenty years back. Or how they pretend to be the Henren warriors to hate on BuckTommy, yet they are the first ones to hate on them if they have a storyline before Eddie does.

They hate because they are hateful, disgusting people, and try to 'justify' it by hiding in rather dangerous and harmful rhetoric that, ultimately, does not apply to what they are saying.

Once again, I'm so sorry they make you feel this way. Know that everything they say comes from a place of pure hate, and not truth.

Reasons why Bobby Nash is 💯 NOT 💀 (maybe I’m delusional, maybe I’m not)

1. The church. They filmed the funeral at the Resurrection church.this fits in perfectly with the leaked “buried alive” script. Also they 💀 him right before Easter weekend. Hmmm…..coincidence? Maybe. But it’s a really big one & a really big missed opportunity at an awesome story. I think they’d be stupid not to play that out.

2. The song. Work Song by Hozier playing at the end of 8x15. Specifically the lyrics “No grave can hold my body down. I’ll crawl home to her.” Once again this fits in nicely as foreshadowing Bobby being brought back from the grave. Possibly confirming a buried alive story line.

3. EMMETT! Tim Minear has said letting Bobby go was a creative decision made because it had to happen to keep the show moving forward and create new stories and for fans to not get complacent. But like, I’ve already seen Athena grieve over a lost love. I don’t want to see that again! How is this moving the show forward? Isn’t it going back? Is he really going to play out the same story again but with a different guy? It just doesn’t make sense to me. I call BS.

And lastly…..

4. Angela’s “goodbye” post. As soon as I saw her post I started sobbing again thinking that confirmed him gone. But then I got looking. She never once says goodbye and she never says anything about Peter leaving 9-1-1. What she does say is to “give Peter a lot of love as he expands beyond “the 118” and into all the adventures that await him.” Now to me I see someone saying he’s leaving the 118 fire department not the actual show. Bobby leaving the 118 could open up a lot of different stories and adventures like Tim Minear claims he wants. Angela also says “I know this is hard for you all. It’s hard for us, too.” I see that as it’s hard for them to see us all losing our shit and reacting the way we are and them having a hard time having to lie and keep the truth quiet. To wrap it up she says “Athena will never be the same.” Ummm….yeah I be she won’t! She just had to relive losing Emmett but with Bobby this time. That’s going to do some damage to her character. When that man shows back up alive again she’s never going to want him going back to work. This will change their relationship drastically I think. Back on the cruise ship episodes Athena tries to avoid Bobby and says it’s because she was “afraid that she wouldn’t know how to be with him without all the noise.” This could open up a chance to explore their relationship more deeply outside of work if Bobby does in fact retire after this. He did want to episodes back and even turned in his resignation which Athena wasn’t too happy about. Now she might actually be the one pushing it after this incident. One more thing on Angela’s post is the picture she posted. Apparently it’s a bts of one of the episodes that hasn’t aired yet. Now this could be filming of a flashback scene but I am choosing to be delusional 😅 In this photo Bobby clearly has a cut on his forehead that was not there at the end of 8x15. Also his clothes look like he was just pulled out of a sand/dirt pile. Like a man, dare I say, pulled from the ground?? Which brings me back to the buried alive story line. So yes I very much believe this has been a fake out death and Bobby Nash is alive and coming back!

I have to say I’m really into this story if it turns out to be true. The way Angela Bassett acts I’m looking forward to seeing her grieve Bobby and all the angst of it. Especially when you imagine what that reunion will look like once he’s brought back.

My conclusion is that either Tim Minear is an evil genius or an idiot for not taking this kind of story opportunity.

It's hot because they absolutely hate each other but they would also wholeheartedly trust each other when it comes to achieving their number one goal, which is protecting Harry. Like their vibes are enemies, so a divorced couple with phenomenal co parenting skills?? Best friend of Lily, best friend of James??

Besides that, I'm pretty sure they have a lot of parellels. Which is why I reallyy love shipping them.

Sirius hated his home life but he was forced to live back there again though it was for a short while, Severus also lived back in his childhood home, though he spent most of his time Hogwarts for his career.

Sirius and Severus had a huge part in the deaths of the Potters, and therefore felt responsible/guilty. "I as good as killed them." (Can't remember the quote) and Severus's...well you know.

Other DEs suspecting Severus to be a traitor and other Order allies actually convicting Sirius as the traitor?? Also the literal ex death eater believes Sirius was a DE and the wrongfully convicted one doesn't even know Severus had a dark mark?? Like??

Snupin is sad angst but snirius is like...angry angst. Snupin is recovering from their teenage bs and the war but snirius is making it worse. Like... reverting? Relapsing??

Because Sirius says shit like he wasn't proud of his teenage treatment towards Severus, and drops quotes like oh the world isn't black and white harry or whatever and then turns around and says Severus deserved the Prank happening (although I think this happened first) and speaks to Severus like he's the worst scum on earth, even before he finds out Severus was a DE. Like despite how impulsive he is, Sirius does understand, he has logic and everything but literally all of that goes out the window the moment he talks to Severus?? Like, heed your own words bro, why can't you??

Severus gets to be an asshole to Sirius for obv reasons, PTSD and all. I forgive him.

Anyways, they literally get under each other's skin like no other. The only marauders era characters to be written this way. Like it's been more than a decade since their childhood "feud" (/sarc) and they still revert back to their teenage self whenever they fight. It's so fascinating because we know Severus is the rationally composed one. Even Sirius has his moments.

And yet, even though every one of their canon interactions were bitter and heated, Severus handles the unconscious body of Sirius carefully, he doesn't knock his head around on purpose (unlike Sirius with Severus's body) and Severus genuinely did not want Sirius to die. Before they even properly had a conversation, Severus seems to have uh moved on? He was ready to forget the whole "getting back" at Sirius thing, he's over it but all that past resentment, anger and bitterness comes back immediately the moment he talks to Sirius. Which, I don't blame him for. Human response honestly.

At his core, he understands that no matter how horrible Sirius was to him, this is Lily's friend, this is someone Harry cares about. So kind of like Harry to Draco, this guy is a piece of shit but he doesn't deserve death

And this is somewhat similar to Sirius's oh Snape? Hated that Slytherin guy, sucking up to all those horrible slytherins, I wouldn't mind if he died back then lol... what do you mean he was a death eater? Are you sure?

Hence, they are enemies and lovers. I don't think they'll ever move past the enemy phase. So they are both. Their conversations are 100% full of witty quick comebacks and sarcasm. They've lived through experiences literally no one else shares. Like who else would know what it's like to unintentionally play a key part in orchestrating the Potter's death??

Even besides that, how they're written too. Severus is poor, working class, bullied, ugly, greasy hair, goes from the lowest of the barrel and works his way up, rational, and introverted, inherits almost nothing valuable from his pureblood mother. Sirius is rich, highest of the highest elite, peaked in highschool, handsome, gorgeous hair, falls from disgrace—a young man with a huge inheritance to an escaped convict, irrational and extroverted, inherits like?? Everything?? From his family???

Also, there's Severus who hates his name from his father because abusive guy and Sirius who hated what his family represented. Hmm, they're not exactly the same but the vibes....

Like it's so...ugh compelling?? It SPEAKS to me.

I promise this isn't bait and I am not trying to dabble in ship war bs.

You said in an earlier post that Eddie isn't in the way of BuckTommy, which I assume means that you have a different interpretation than I do of what Tommy meant when he asked Buck to try again "now that the competition is out of the way."

I will even agree with you that currently Eddie is a conically straight character. But if he's always been straight and continues to be straight, then why would Tommy consider him competition?

Lastly, if Eddie decides to return to LA, would his return still create a wedge between Buck and Tommy?

I would love to hear your thoughts!

Jelousy/insecurity is highly irrational. It doesn't adhere to logic. It also isn't always true. Tommy even says, after mentioning "competition", that he's "mostly kidding". Because rationally, he knows it's not true.

Tommy knows Eddie is straight. That's not the problem. His insecurity/jealousy isn't a fear of Eddie swooping in and stealing Buck from him; he's worried that Evan might be misplacing his feelings for Eddie onto a convenient second option - aka, Tommy himself. Maybe he's had past experience with this situation before (which he's implied already in the breakup scene where he told Buck "I'm not your last, I'm your first" - implying that he has been someone's "first" before, and been left/dumped/whatever by someone who has realised their feelings for someone else)

It's not so much about the Eddie of it all as it is about Buck's relationship with Eddie. Buck still idolises the guy, won't ever say (or hear) a bad word about him. He spent the entire bar night with Ravi talking about Eddie, he compared his friendship with Ravi to his friendship with Eddie, he's currently living in Eddie's house, he takes care of Eddie's kid at the drop of a hat. Hell, they got together in the first place because Buck was mad that Eddie was spending time with Tommy.

And then on the other side of it, Tommy's brief friendship with Eddie, all he heard about was Buck. Eddie talked about him, Chris talked about him, it was very clear that Buck was a major part of their lives (and Tim, I'd just like to Talk about where the fuck THAT went, because uhm.... make it make sense).

So, Tommy, who we can fairly accurately deduce has been someone's First Gay Relationship before, has been left by someone for someone else before, has been in this situation before, would have a LOT to be insecure about. It's not a rational insecurity, and it's certainly not true, but like I said, jealousy and insecurity are not rational.

Buck handled it terribly, but then, he knows that he doesn't have feelings for Eddie. But he got upset, and stuck his foot in his mouth, and explained it in just about the worst way possible.

As for Eddie returning... see, there's a BIG gap between what I think would happen, and what the narrative would say. The narrative refuses to give Eddie any kind of repercussions for his actions - even when he's hurt someone - or any kind of long-lasting consequences. The last time that happened was during his breakdown in season 5, and even then, he managed to get and keep a decent job at Dispatch, and was able to rejoin the 118 after the season finale. So, narratively, I think Eddie would come back and everything would go back to 'normal'. Eddie continuing to use Buck, Buck continuing to be Eddie's best friend, and Tommy 'just trying to keep up' with Evan.

However, if you want my opinion on what could/should happen?

It's extremely hard to believe that anything can just 'go back to normal' after the Kitchen Scene. I think Buck will be more reserved around Eddie, more shut-down. I think Tommy will notice and be concerned. I think Buck will try to downplay what happened - because that's what he does every time when it comes to Eddie - and Tommy will call bullshit, because he's been around long enough to see the pattern of behaviour. I think that would be the wedge. Tommy would believe that Buck deserves better, while Buck would believe he's actually getting more than he deserves. As for Eddie, I think he would be unaware of any of this until Tommy starts giving him the cold shoulder. THEN it would be an issue for him, because now it's affecting HIM.

I'm trying extremely hard to be generous with that last part, because frankly I'd prefer it if Eddie got written off the show entirely. The only part of that I'd be upset about is losing Chris.
