every day i wish there had been a better solution for the qin su marriage problem.

in my fix-it fics i either have some other sect leader claim that he was actually madly in love with her this whole time and sweep her away for jgy's sake, have her mom confess earlier, make jgy decide to tell her for her own good and have them work together, or not give them a chance to meet and fall in love in the first place (i guess i could also make qin su have a miscarriage, but that's really sad and awful and not my preferred option at all), but all of those require tweaks to the circumstances, sometimes early on so they don't meet or jgy feels safe enough to talk with her or another confidant, or sometimes later like madam qin finding out they're pregnant before the marriage prep is too far along and telling one or both of them right away so they can make other arrangements.

with the situation being what it was, jgy didn't find out soon enough to do anything that wouldn't involve either marrying her anyway (and he didn't think telling her about it would do anything except make her upset and depressed) or leaving her essentially a ruined woman with no prospects and an illegitimate child who would inevitably grow up fatherless, which is pretty much exactly what his dad did to meng shi. this would be a crueler option than pretty much anything else, and given that he clearly still cares about her, he couldn't do that in good conscience. jgy tries his best to protect the people he loves, unless there is literally no other way for him to survive.

it's one more example of jgy being faced with a situation where the only choices are bad ones, and making the decision that he thinks will hurt the fewest number of people. metatextually, it's one more example of women in fiction being shoved aside and not given agency in their own lives, and getting killed off instead of surviving and growing as people like the male characters are allowed to do. it's just a tragic situation all around and i wish there had been something they could have done.

One of the most unexpected and funniest things when reading TGCF is when you're at first like wow Xie Lian would be such a good parent, he already pretty much adopted so many kids! Him and Hua Cheng could raise kids together!!

And then. It's actually. Qi Rong, who could make the best dad out of every character in TGCF.

I've always liked this line of dialogue from SQX, because it does feel like at the end of the day, no matter how much SQX says he can't stand PM, he does still have a decent grasp of his character.

And on the other side of this, these words are just especially pointed towards Pei Xiu, who does have a good relationship with his boss/ancestor, and also going off his backstory, Pei Ming may well have been the first person in his life to acknowledge him and his talents.

So the whole thing just feels extra sad.

People in the world - by Hua Cheng

Mr. Hua Cheng is a very distinguished personality in 3 realms. Mortal worship him, Gods fear him and Ghosts respect and adore him. He is the one and only 'Crimson Rain Shought Flower' the supreme Ghost King of land.

Recently, he published a book to enlighten the masses. A very important excerpt of the book is presented here

"There are two kind of people in the world:

1. Dianxia

2. The Others

First is the only thing matters in the world. He should be revered, loved , worshipped by everyone(Kissed , hugged, and 'loved' by only me). He deserves the best (like me) in the world.

The second category divided into 2 subcategories.

1. Who are nice to Dianxia:-

They should be treated with bare minimum of kindness. Since they have a good head on their shoulders, they could keep it there without fear. By Dianxia's blessings, I'll make sure that happens.

2. Who are rude to Dianxia/ hurt Dianxia.

They deserve to be universally hated. They should be hanged on a spike. But ....they should not die. They should live a life worse than death.

Of course, like everything in the world, there are some exceptions to the rule.

1. The 1st, the most important exception, Goushi should also be treated with utmost respect. After all he is Dianxia's Seffu. He should be second to Dianxia.

2. The 2nd exception is The Black Water. That creature has been with me for hundreds of years. I've grown used to feeding him, and listening to his useless prattle {a.n- BW prattles?! Why don't you admit you like talking to him?!}. The fool owes me a lot of money, anyway. So, he should be kept around to run my errands.

3. The former Wind Master is the 3rd exception. He is Dianxia's friend. He was nice to Dianxia when others were busy mocking Dianxia. So he deserves a bit of extra kindness and respect. I don't need to protect his life, though. There is Black Water for that.

4. Another special case are Mu Qing and Feng Xin. These two baffons, surprisingly, belong to both subcategories. So, they should be despised and insulted but should not be harmed(too much)."

This excerpt sure is enlightening. I do not need explain in detail the purpose of the excerpt, do I? Please be cautious and start praying the Scraps....... I mean 'Flower Crown Martial God' or 'Crown Prince who Pleased the God.' May the lord bless us!

Circus au!

The moment Hong-er fell in love with acrobat Xie Lian and decided to run away and join the circus.

And because I refuse to let circuses be romanticised without recognising their history of horrors. The reality would be that Hua Cheng would  have to join the freak show part of the circus. Considering how people with disabilities and physical differences were treated and that he is a child with no home and no education or skills yet. But he is completely determined to follow Xie Lian, so he will be forced to show the eye he has always hidden from everyone to join the circus. Also despite following Xie Lian around like a lost puppy, he absolutely refuses to ever let him in to see his act, because he doesn’t want him to see his eye and reject him.

A very slow, kinda philosophical, kinda slice of life, kida biology textbook on snails ^_^

Loved that Touya didn't take a specific side when he reaches the one kingdom, just tries to prevent any further killing.

Bringing the vegetables over to the large pot to toss the already prepared veggies into the boiling water.

"So--" he said "My question to you is why is this important?" he asked with a chuckle. If she had asked Mulan she could have told her the same. However since she had come to her Gēgē meant she had other questions for her brother. "Something must be on your mind." he added as he leaned in to stir the soup so nothing stuck to the sides of the pot.

He sought out the water to wash his hands. "Do you want to learn martial arts ?" he teased. As he sought the flour and a big bowl.
