Laidir. A strong name, hitherto unused by the unruly ringleader of the Veilguard who refers to himself only as the second in command. A name that belongs to his mother, seldom seen and oft referred to in the manner of a folklore spirit - scarcely, as though one might be afraid to invite her in.

We know much about the father, of course. Warden-Inquisitor Severan is a name not easily forgotten, and will likely never be by much of Thedas' southern reaches, so it begs the question: why Laidir?

A chance to outgrow his shadow, perhaps. Or maybe an attempt at anonymity in a world still recovering in the aftermath of the infamous Inquisition. It is impossible to say.

Speculation remains our only answer.

One of the things that got mentioned about Omega that I want them to Explore More in season three is that she's technically the overprotective big sister of the batch... because the rest of the batch has taken a pretty firm Big Brothers/Dads/Mentors role in her life. But Crosshair has not had that opportunity. Let Omega treat him like a baby brother that she MUST protect while he makes a >:L face at her.
