It's finished! This blanket took me about 3 months and is the largest project by far that I have ever completed.
Tagging @chrono-phage who mentioned wanting to see other takes on this pattern.
The granny square patterns come from AlyssiaCreates, though I modified slightly to create the full, gibbous, and new moons.

so anyway I finished the baby dragon blanket.
this project took me easily over 100 hours to knit, plus 20ish hours to design and create the pattern itself. it's something like 200 stitches across and 250 rows long, with the backing knit directly onto the front panel. the baby I started this for has been born long enough that the parent has finished their parental leave and come back to work already (which I guess means I can easily hand it off after it's blocked?)
I broke the 'don't invent a new pattern for a gift' rule and paid the consequences. I could reasonably have done some research instead of just reinventing techniques, but I had fun and I think this turned out a solid 8/10 which is probably better than I had any right to expect under the circumstances.

Some pictures I got of my blocks
I didn't mention it last time but these are my patterns, they're available for free on my ravelry and put together as packages for sale on my etsy. I'm working on knitting these blocks again to take new pictures for these old listings because they're real out of date ((which is why I hesitate to link them))

So which of you is the sun twin and which of you is the moon twin?
A few years ago, a friend of mine had twin girls. I made them these matching baby blankets with sun and moon motifs! I also included a bunny on each because I had a baby blanket with a bunny on it as a kid and it felt appropriate. (Does anyone else have an animal they just associate with babies like that?)
As you can tell by my wobbly lines, I really should have blocked these before sending them out, but I was running out of time to get these to the momma before the babies came!
The pattern I used is called: Easy Baby Blanket by Jackie Ebdon

This crochet cow print baby blanket is done completely in single crochet, making it perfect for even beginners to the craft! This pattern can be done up in any combination of colours. It is done in Blanket Yarn, making it not only super soft to the touch, but can also double as a playmat!

The question for this week is "Can I really speedrun a baby blanket before Saturday or am I far overestimating my ability to do that?"
