A mainly crochet fiber arts blog. Call me Ren or Mingle! Feel free to say hello or request something. I try to focus on free patterns or freeform unless it's something I want to buy personally.

Does anyone have any pics to add to the helper cat pile? Helper cats being cats interacting with crochet projects or supplies.

Other animals can of course be honorary helper cats.

I’ve been trying out tapestry crochet recently, learning about following and designing a pattern and such, ended up obsessively making these clown kitties. I’ve had a lot of fun and I want to keep doing crochet stuff in the future ❤️
One of these is super wonky because I though I could be fast 😅 I couldn’t, I always go big, never start with small easy stuff lmao
[ID: Three small crochet tapestries with the same design of a cat in clown costume, each one has a different color palette, red and pink, blue and yellow, and dark aqua and lilac. The cat in the first two have their eyes closed and a sad expression, the other one is happy. The three pieces hand from a wooden dowel. End ID]

Gribby's cute crochet skull
I didn't like the one with the angry eyes and the weird head, so I made my own sillier looking one. Pattern under the cut. You can sell crafts you make with it but DO NOT sell my pattern! The pattern belongs FREE to everyone.
(The stitch glossary is in US terms)
CH = chain SC= Single crochet DC= Double crochet SL= Slip stitch IN = increase. Add another stitch into the same hole Picot= SC, DC in same hole, CH, SL into left side of DC, SC in same hole you started. START:
CH 10 SC In the 3rd chain from the hook (not counting the loop on the hook). ↓
DC in same hole. Ch1. Slipstitch into left side of DC. SC in same chain hole where you started. That's a picot. SL through next chain. Second picot in next chain. SL throught next chain
Third picot in next chain. SL through next chain.
Fourth picot in next chain, SL through last chain. Teeth finished!
CH 15 Take the crochet hook carefully out of the loop, and go through the chain at the end of the 1st picot you made. Put the hook back into the loop, and pull it through. ↓
--- SL 3 to the sticth between the 1st and second picot.
CH 5. Fold the 15 chain loop in half to find the middle. SL through the middle.↓
--- SL3 back down your 5 chain. Ch2. SL into the space between 3rd and 4th picot. Nose and eyes finished!
SL x3 to the outside of the design. For the last stitch, take the yarn off of the hook just like you did at the other side of the picots. Go through the outside chain at the top of the last picot, and pull through.↓
--- SC x3 +IN DC x2 +IN TCx2 +IN, TC x1 DC x1 IN, DC x1 SC x1 +IN, SC 2 Skull base complete! SL into nearest stitch that's part of picot 1
Turn the design, and SL all the way over the top of the skull until you meet your tail, where you started. Cut the yarn, pull through, and tie the ends together. Finished!
