Ooh i don’t think i’ve been this overstimulated or sleep deprived in so long and at the same time at that like….. on top of other things here lately i have been genuinely curious about my autism diagnosis again. I got it in 2022 but i swore i was misdiagnosed but i seriously don’t even know anymore. I feel like i have been okay and more adjusted for a while (y’all it was so bad in 2021-23) and now i have a lot going on and today was a bad day so i may be overthinking or maybe it’s kind of a trauma response from being overstimulated and having shutdowns over and over again at one point. Like i felt that way yesterday and today after work. I’ve been way busier than usual, can’t focus in church, not used to the constant social interaction (i don’t mind it but yeah), new stuff constantly, inability to process, noticing my need for increased sensory input but unable to properly manage it, etc. IDK i’m just a bit overwhelmed. Like i was so overstimulated last night i finally got relaxed after praying then was wide awake. I gotta lock in cause burnout will be coming soon 😭 i finally got OUT of that too. It may be a combination of things as i’m trying to adjust to my new life but wow it feels identical to how it was when i was in autistic burnout literally the most traumatic time in my life. But yeah i currently don’t even know what sensory stuff works for me anymore cause i never even pay attention to that stuff but i’n ab to start having to again. Js trying to sleep and get grounded again but idk what to do.

Chapter Nine
Another three days passed with Zilla staying with Bronco. He would sneak to the apartment late at night to grab clothes when he knew Moriah was asleep. Watching her sleep gave him a dull ache in his heart for her. It wasn't fair that Nadine had made so many unjust decisions for them. There was nothing anybody could say to him that would make him ever forgive Nadine. Before he left the apartment, he made sure to fill her work cup with ice and put it in the freezer for her and put snacks in her purse because she always forgot. He was honestly surprised she didn't notice but then again she never did.
Slipping back into Bronco's house, he tried to move as quietly as possible so he didn't wake Bronco's little brother. As he moved towards the living room he heard a soft squeal.
“Aye you good in here?” He called out as he walked through the doorway then quickly turned his back seeing Toni sitting top less in his friend's lap. “Oh shit, my bad, B.”
Bronco laughed wrapping the throw blanket around her. “You good, shoulda been in my room anyway. You got what you need?”
“Yeah, I got it. Nice to see you again, T.” He chuckled with his back still to them.
Toni hit her boyfriend, who was still laughing. “It's not funny, Bronco. Nice to see you too, Zilla. Where were you?”
“You really wanna know or you askin cause it's awkward?”
“Both,” she laughed getting off Bronco's lap, “Answer please.”
He held up his bag for her to see. “Went to get clothes from the apartment.”
“So you saw Rye? Did everything go okay? Well of course it didn't if you're here.” Toni rambled on until Bronco moved to stand behind her and gripped her shoulders. “Huh? Sorry, I'm talking too much. I'm just worried.”
“Ain't no need to worry. He ain't wake her, she don't know he been there.”
Securing the throw blanket around her torso, Toni moved closer to the younger man and turned him around to face her.
“It's been damn near a week, Zilla. How long are you gonna do this? She already thinks you hate her, this is not helping.”
“That's what I been tryna tell him,” Bronco added, making Zilla suck his teeth.
“Fat know I don't hate her. I text her. We good, T.”
“That might work with Bronco but that does not work with me,” she fussed. “She doesn't know that because besides you texting her that you love her, you don't say anything else to her and you're not at home.”
He huffed shifting his weight from foot to foot. “Listen, I appreciate you being there for Fat and all that but we straight. I got it.”
“You got it? Yeah, okay. I understand that you're hurting and processing right now but you're literally doing exactly what her mom said you would do. You left her by herself, Zilla. She's alone every day and every night while you're here with your friend every night.”
Toni pushed past him, going to Bronco's bedroom careful not to slam the door.
“Damn, she kinda feisty,” Bronco chuckled, “But you know she's right. You can't keep runnin, bruh. You gotta talk to her at some point. Good night, man.”
Getting back to the guest room, Zilla got situated for the night and responded to a few texts he had. Jon had invited him and Moriah to the house for a cookout, even though he told him no the first time Jon continued to ask until Zilla gave in. As they were talking a facetime call from Arthur came through. He debated on answering for a few moments before ultimately answering.
“Damn you wasn't gon answer the phone?”
“I was gettin in the bed. What's up?”
Arthur knew his little brother well. He could fool their other brothers and occasionally their mother but it was very rare that he could get past Arthur.
“You tell me. What's going on with you?”
“Nun, wrestlemania season so it's busy.”
“Now that you got ya lie out ya system, let's try the truth, Isayah. You know whatever you tell me don't go no further.”
Zilla couldn't stop the chuckle that escaped him, it was dipped in sarcasm. “Oh trust me, I know you can keep a secret.”
Arthur's face scrunched up, giving his brother a confused look. “It's obviously something you wanna say so say it. Get it off ya chest.”
“Why you ain't tell me?” He asked after a minute.
“Tell you what?”
“About Angel. You knew and ain't say shit.”
Arthur sighed, wiping his free hand down his face. “This ain't what you wanna hear but that wasn't my place to tell you, Isayah. It wasn't my business to tell. That was for Moriah to tell you.”
Zilla rolled his eyes. “Okay so why not tell her to tell me before?”
“Do you think she wanted to hold this shit in this long? No, she didn't. She wanted to tell you but she been terrified to tell you since the moment that test came back positive.”
“I hear you.”
“If you're acting this way with me then I can only imagine how you acting with her about this.” Arthur paused to gather his thoughts. “That's why y'all ain't been answering our calls. She told you and you lost your shit, didn't you?”
He sucked his teeth hard. “I ain't lose shit. She told me and I left.”
“The hell you mean you left? You left the room? That's what you better mean.”
“Left the apartment. I needed to get away from the whole thing before I took it out on her.”
“You got air then what?”
“That's it. I ain't been back since and before you start I'm not tryna hear shit about it.”
Arthur chuckled under his breath. “I don't care what you don't wanna hear. It's fine for you to want space after hearing that but running from it won't change it. You do know that, right?”
“I know that, Arthur.”
“I know that look on your face so tryna say anything else to you is pointless right now so ima go. You call or text me when you wanna talk.”
Before Zilla could say anything else, Arthur disconnected the call. He could add another person to the list that felt his anger that didn't deserve it. The whole situation with Angel was eating at him, the person he wanted to take his anger out on was nowhere near and he wasn't calling her. Not yet at least.

Zilla stared at the text trying to figure out how he wanted to answer. He knew Moriah is the closest to her Aunt Kami and her Aunt Gabi but he wanted her to have control of how much she wanted them to know.

Getting out of bed was hard for Moriah and going to work was even harder. Having to act like everything was okay especially in front of Thomas so he didn't raise suspicion to her mother was tiring. Zilla buying her a car made it a little easier since he hasn't picked her up from work since. Even though Thomas worked her nerves, the kids on the pediatric floor gave her a little joy.
Entering her five year old patient's room, Moriah got sanitizer and approached the bed with a smile. She greeted her parents softly then laughed seeing her patient faking sleep.
“Nia's sleeping? I thought she was up.”
The mother smiled, her eyes crinkled in the corners. “Thought so too. Guess she fell asleep.”
“Well I guess I have to give this pop it game to my other patient then,” Moriah playfully started to walk backwards.
Nia's eyes popped open followed by her giggles. She reached her hands out. “Noooo! I'm awake! I'm awake!”
Her parents and Moriah laughed along with her. She approached the bed again, taking the game from her pocket to give to the five year old.
“The gopher game! You found it!”
“I did, I told you I would. I got you, girl.”
“Thank you! Thank you!”
Moriah started to check her vitals. “You're so welcome, friend. I talked to Dr. Harris and he told me that you can take it with you to pre-op while you wait.”
“Yes!” She squealed excitedly.
“And when you come out of surgery, what would you like to eat?”
“Anything?”
Moriah winked at her. “Anything, friend.”
“Spaghetti and meatballs!”
“You're gonna turn into a meatball, Nia.” The dad joked.
Moriah finished up and went to grab more sanitizer. “Spaghetti and meatballs it is, friend. Mom and Dad, Dr. Harris and another nurse will be in shortly to talk to you a little more about her surgery then take her to pre-op.”
The mother stood quickly. “Wait, aren't you going to surgery with her?”
“Well, no ma'am. I'm sorry.”
“Could you?” She asked, grabbing Moriah's hand. “Please. It would make us and her feel much better if you did. You've been so good to us the last few days, she just adores you.”
Moriah rolled the thought around in her head. “I'll check with the team and make sure it's okay. Alright?”
Leaving the room, Moriah walked around the floor looking for Dr. Harris. She found the slender, salt and pepper African American man engulfed in a conversation with Thomas. The sight of him repulsed her but she pushed it aside for her patient.
“I'm sorry to interrupt, Dr. Harris. I wanted to run something by you about Nia Whitfield's surgery.” Her eyes shifted momentarily to Thomas. “In private.”
Dr. Harris smiled, he was always a jovial man. It's why the kids in the pediatric floor loved him.
“Of course, Nurse DeBreaux. And it's okay if Gardner stays, he's going to be in surgery with me shadowing.”
It took every bit of willpower for Moriah not to roll her eyes at that.
“Isn't that … great. Nia and her parents would feel more comfortable if I went into surgery with her. I know you had another nurse scheduled with you and I understand if we can't change it but I wanted to try.”
Dr. Harris waved his hand dismissively. “Never be fretful to ask to switch in my surgeries. I want my patients and families to be as comfortable as possible,” he explained. “If they want you then they got you. I'll meet you at her room in fifteen minutes.”
With that, he walked off towards his office she presumed leaving her with Thomas. He stepped closer, she took two steps back and held her hand out to stop him.
“Stay out of my personal space, Thomas.”
“Our first surgery together. Aren't you excited, Moriah?” He asked, smiling from ear to ear.
“Not at all. You need to focus on not messing up in there instead of on me.”
He shrugged. “It's just a hernia removal. Piece of cake. In and out in an hour tops.”
She rolled her eyes.
“You heard what I said.”
“How's your boy? One of my patients had the show on last night, he's not bad.”
Moriah turned to walk away from him, mumbling to herself. Getting transferred back to the emergency department wasn't happening quick enough for her. Between the rift with her and Zilla and Thomas always in her face at work, she was more than tired.

Hassan pulled up to the house he knew Tamera would be showing in the next couple of hours, parking discreetly behind hers. He grabbed the flowers he had gotten her before jumping out and heading for the porch. The door was open, he knocked on the door frame as he entered. He didn't have to wait long for Tamera to come out, her heels clicking against the impressive marble flooring. Her smile grew wider seeing Hassan.
“What are you doing here, Hassan?”
He gave her the flowers then kissed her cheek. “I was in the neighborhood and decided to stop by. Happy to see me?”
His heart swelled as he watched inhale the flower's scent excitedly.
“Yes of course I'm happy to see you. But in the neighborhood, sir?” She laughed. “You live forty five minutes from here.”
He pulled her into a tight hug. “Not the point. You mentioned you didn't have flowers for the house today so here I am.”
“Thank you,” she grabbed his hand, pulling him with her through the house to the kitchen. “I'll put them in a case. They're very beautiful, Hassan.”
“Just like you.”
Their eyes met, her eyes flickered with a very familiar flame that Hassan acted like he didn't see. The flame in her eyes was the same flame that burned inside of him but he wanted to make sure she knew what she was getting into with him. Gabi and Moriah would say that he was stalling but he hadn't and didn't plan on asking them.
“You are slicker than can of oil, Mr. DeBreaux.”
“And you, Ms. Jefferson, are sweeter than honey.”
Tamera checked her watch then glanced back at Hassan, a smile rose to his face again.
“Two hours until your appointment, Tamera.”
She hummed, filling a vase with water. “Guess we better put those two hours to good use then.”
His phone rang interrupting their stare down. Seeing his ex-wife's name made him internally groan but he excused himself and stepped out of the sliding door to the backyard.
“How can I help you, Nadine?”
“Am I interrupting you or something? You sound irritated.”
He chuckled. “You know I don't enjoy talking to you, Didi. What is it?”
“Well that's rude, Hassan. I was just calling to check on Moriah. Apparently she's blocked my number.”
“You say that like it's a surprise. She meant it when she said she was done.”
Nadine scoffed into the phone. “Anyway, how's my baby? Have you talked to her today? I heard she's going into her first surgery today.”
Hassan took the phone away from his ear to stare at it for a moment. “No, I haven't talked to her today but she's fine. How the hell did you hear that?”
“I have my ways. Later on, you need to call and ask her about it. And tell her to call me, this is something we need to talk about.”
He took a few deep breaths to calm his nerves. “I'm not telling her anything, she'll call if she wants. Whatever person you got keeping tabs on her at that hospital needs to stop.” He spat harshly.
“If you think I'm gonna just stop looking out for my baby because she's upset with me right now then you're sadly mistaken,” Nadine fussed. “This isn't the first time, she'll get over it. She got over that damn baby, didn't she? Exactly so she'll be fine.”
“That damn baby was your grandson, Nadine! He was a part of you and you took his life! You took him, you traumatized our daughter, who is also a part of you and you act like it was nothing!”
“Oooh,” she cackled, “I struck a nerve if Hassan is yelling. Not cool, calm and collected Hassan getting out of character over that bastard baby.”
“You would stoop so low and hurt our daughter because you're pissed at me? You're pissed at me for something that didn't have to change anything about our lives, Nadine.”
Laughing, she mocked him, not bothering to give him an actual response.
“What if she would've hurt herself? What then?”
“Oh please that girl is weak but she's not that weak. She would never.”
He chuckled bitterly. “Because you know her so well, right? Nadine, stop trying to hurt my daughter. Leave her alone, let her be and let her live her life.”
“Your daughter?” She snorted.
“Yes, my daughter.”
“Goodbye, Hassan.”
The urge to chuck his phone into the pool a few feet away from him was strong. Instead he stuffed it in his pocket and took slow, deep breaths to calm himself down. No one could make him as angry as his ex-wife and he hated it. Some would say it was because he was still in love with her and reached to be her but they didn't know him. He hated who his ex-wife became right before and after their divorce, he didn't know her. Feeling hands on his back, he jumped a little then relaxed remembering he was there with Tamera.
“Didn't mean to scare you. Just wanted to check on you. You looked stressed.”
He wiped a hand down his face. “I'm sorry about that, it was my ex-wife. I'm alright though.”
She gave him a small smile, taking his hands in hers.”You don't have to be sorry, I understand about exes. We can talk about it, if you want. Or not talk.”
“Not talking sounds good,” he smiled.

Bronco and Zilla sat on the floor in front of one of the practice rings with a few of their peers listening to Booker and Regal talk to them.  Since their interaction after the run in with Thomas, Zilla and Booker hadn't said much to each other if it wasn't work related.
“Getting TV time doesn't mean you stop practicing and working hard to get better,” Regal informed looking at each of them. “The goal is to stay on TV. Right?”
The group acknowledged him with an answer.
“So if you all know then why are we here right now?”
Silence.
Booker ran a hand over his locs, stepping in to add his own thoughts. “It's great that yall go to promo class, it's great that you're getting TV time but what's not great is yall either half assing it during drills and practice or not showing up at all.”
Zilla honestly didn't understand why he had to be in this conversation. He went to practice, he went to class and he did his thing on TV. With everything he had in his plate, the lady thing he wanted or needed was to be chastised about something he wasn't doing. The whole time Booker spoke, he rolled his eyes and scrunched his face up which didn't go unnoticed by the older man.
“Is there a problem, Zilla?”
He sucked his teeth. “Nah, mane. Go head.”
“You sure? Cause the eye rolling and facial expressions is telling me something different.”
Again, he sucked his teeth. “Man, go head. I ain't say nothing, did I?”
“This is something I need everybody to understand right now. Don't take me for no sucka, I don't disrespect any of you so don't disrespect me,” he moved closer to Zilla as he spoke until he was in front of him and snatched the younger man up from the floor, ripping his shirt in the process. “Cause if you wanna get disrespectful, I can show you how I handle disrespect. Is that understood?”
The two men stood nose to nose with no intentions of backing down. Zilla's chest puffed out from his heavy breathing, his jaw tight and his eyes burned. Booker maintained eye contact with him, seeing the tears in his eyes. Bronco watched the interaction wanting to step in but he knew it wasn't his place and he knew his friend needed it.
“I asked a question. Is it understood?”
Zilla scrunched his face to keep his tears at bay and choked out a ‘yeah’. Booker turned him around and pushed him gently towards the door, letting Regal know they'd be back. He guided the younger man to his office, closing the door behind them, then went to sit on the corner of his desk as Zilla dropped into one of his chairs.
“Let it out, man.”
Zilla choked back a sob, wiping angrily at his eyes. “I'm good.”
Tumblr media
“You ain't. Ain't no way you are. I looked into your eyes, man. You're not good.” Booker said softly.
“I am. My bad for what happened.”
“I accept your apology but man it's okay to not be okay. Is everything okay with you and Rye? Or is this about your dad?”
Pulling up the end of his now ripped shirt, Zilla wiped his face with it. He cried softly, unable to hold it in anymore.
“Both,” he mumbled beneath the fabric of the shirt. “This shit is hard, man.”
“I know it's hard, I know it is but turning on the people trying to help you won't make it any easier, Isayah. Your people love you,” Booker explained, moving to kneel in front of the younger man. “Lean on the people that love you instead of leaning away. I know it's hard to be vulnerable but sometimes it's necessary. Alright?”
Zilla nodded, pulling the shirt from his face. “Aight.”
With a smile, Booker stood then pulled Zilla up and into a hug. “Go change your shirt and come back to practice. But understand I meant what I said, I'll put you right on your ass if you do that again.”
Zilla chuckled and agreed.
They left the office going in opposite directions, Booker back to the practice rings and Zilla to the locker room to change shirts. On his way, he went ahead and pulled the ripped shirt off, stuffing part of it into the front of his doors, letting it hang.
“Hey, Zilla!”
Not stopping his stride, Zilla threw his hand up at Gia. “What's up?”
She jogged a little to catch up with him. “Damn you walk fast. Why you in such a hurry?”
“Gotta get back to practice.”
“Your face is red,” she observed stepping in front of him to stop him, “Are you okay? You wanna talk?”
“I'm good, just hot,” he lied, wanting to get away from her. “Ain't nothin to talk about.”
“I feel like you're lying. You can talk to me, Zilla. I'm a good listener.” She smiled, rubbing her hand up and down his bare arm.
He moved her hand off of him, placing it back at her side. “Like I said, I'm good and if I'm not, I talk to my lady or my mama.”
“That girl of yours must have you on a short leash,” she joked. “I mean I can't blame her, I'd wanna hold on to you too.”
He scrunched his face. “I ain't on a leash. I respect my lady and our relationship.”
“Sorry, sorry. I'm just saying every time I talk to you, she comes up. I know she's there, you don't have to worry I'm not gonna try anything. I can appreciate a good looking man and be respectful.”
Shaking his head, Zilla moved around her and went to the locker room. After he changed his shirt, he checked his phone to see if he had any notifications.
Aunt Kami

Zilla smiled a little at the message.

Zilla

I'M SO DAMN PROUD OF YOU, FAT!! I know u did amazing, baby. I love u
Zilla tucked his phone away and locked his things back up before he left the locker room. He opted to run back in order to avoid Gia, in case she was lurking around.

After surgery, Moriah stayed with Nia long enough for her to wake up so she knew Moriah had been there the whole time. When her parents came in, she slipped out to go grab the food she had delivered for the young girl. She sat it up in Nia's room with Toni's help.
“You need to get your man to go on back home.”
Moriah chuckled softly. “If I could, I would, Toni. What happened?”
“He walked in on us last night. Interrupted my moment.”
Moriah laughed, taking a peek at her friend's face. “A moment that you swore wasn't gonna happen because yall are just friends?”
“That is not the point, ma'am. The point is, it was interrupted.”
“I got more than a I love you today so maybe he'll be back soon,” Moriah shrugged, putting the parents’ food to the side. “Tell me about it though. Did you finally get some? Cause if you did, I'm gonna need him to try again you still mean.”
Toni wadded up a napkin and threw it at her friend. “I am not mean. No, we didn't. After that lil run in, the mood was killed.”
“Damn, I'm sorry. Try again tonight, at your place.”
“We can't leave his brother by himself, Rye.”
Moriah thought for a moment. “He can spend the night with me. I could use the company and I'll take him to school on my way to work tomorrow.”
“Sounds like a plan. Two birds with one stone. I'll let Bronco know.”
Before Moriah left the hospital, she stopped by Nia's room to check on her and to let her know that she would see her in the morning. She stopped by the store to get something to cook for dinner and snacks for him before she went home. She texted Toni to let her know that they could drop him off whenever they were ready.
A facetime call interrupted her music as she cooked. She answered it quickly, seeing Arthur's name.
“My favorite!” She said excitedly.
“Hey, sweetheart. How you doing?”
She propped her phone up so they could see each other while she cooked. “I'm alright, Art. How are you?”
“I'm okay. Worried about you though.”
She smiled briefly at him. “I'm okay, no need to worry about me.”
“If you lie to me, I can't help, Rye.”
Setting her tongs to the side, she leaned against the counter behind her and stared at the phone.
“I'll be okay, Art. It'll be okay. I promise.”
“I talked to him. He told me you told him about Angel and he left. Why you didn't call me, manamea?”
She shrugged. “I didn't think he would be gone this long. I thought he would've come back the next day and when he didn't … I don't know. I just didn't wanna talk. He's so mad.”
“He's mad, he's hurt, he's angry but not with you. I don't know if he bit your head off but he tried to bite mine off,” Arthur chuckled, “But he knows it's misplaced anger. He knows.”
“Yeah,” she said softly, wiping her eyes. “It's been a week but he's texting back now at least.”
Arthur wished he could teach through the phone and hug her because he knew she needed one. This is what she had been terrified of all these years and it was happening.
“What did he do when you told him?”
“He asked questions, he would barely look at me. He yelled at me but he apologized right after. I was frustrating him.”
“Frustrating him?”
“He asked me what happened to Angel and where he was and I was telling him that I didn't wanna tell him.”
Arthur sat quietly for a moment, he wanted to say that his little brother shouldn't have done that but given the situation and the emotions in that moment, he could understand it.
“You weren't frustrating him, the situation was, Rye. Do you want me to come out there? I can clear my schedule for yall.”
She shook her head moving back to the stove. “No you don't gotta do that. We'll figure it out.”
“I hate this for yall but I'm proud of you for telling him, Rye. And I know you're glad you were able to tell him before Nadine did.”
The doorbell going off interrupted their conversation, she let him know that she would call him later and went to get the door. She smiled seeing Javier standing there with his bookbag and overnight bag. She hugged him then invited him in, she took his bags sitting them beside the sofa.
“I'm so glad you're here Javi. Dinner is almost ready. You didn't eat yet, right?”
“No ma'am, my brother told me you were cooking. Thank you for having me.”
She cooed, going to pinch his cheeks. “Awwe, you're so polite. You can call me Rye, okay? You don't have to say ma'am, I'm not that old yet.”
He laughed going to sit on the sofa. Moriah went to close the door but was stopped by a hand. She panicked for a second then noticed the ‘630” tattoo and breathed a sigh of relief as she opened the door back for him. They locked eyes as he stepped inside, pushing the door closed with his hand.
“Hi,” she greeted softly.
He greeted her just as softly. “What's up, Fat?”
She wanted to hug him but she honestly didn't know if she should or could so she played with her fingers to keep from touching him.
“I'm gonna go finish dinner.”
He nodded. “Ima shower real quick. You need anything before I get in?”
She shook her head.
“You sure before I get in?”
She smiled a little at the familiarity. “I'm sure, Zay.”
Again, he nodded then turned his attention to Javier. “Aight, Javi, make sure she don't burn our food, man.”
The trio sat on the sofa eating dinner and watching one of the John Wick movies. Moriah sat between them, trying to ignore her boyfriend's eyes constantly staring a hole into the side of her face. He would look away long enough to take bites of his food and catch a scene or two but that was it. At least she knew he'd missed her as much as she'd missed him. When they were all done, Moriah took their dishes to the kitchen and cleaned up while Zilla showed Javier how the shower worked and set up his blanket and pillows on the sofa. He was done before Moriah so he went to lean against the breakfast bar to watch her.
“How did the surgery go?”
She jumped and squealed, turning to face him. “Dammit, Zay. I forgot you were here.”
“My bad,” he chuckled.
“It's alright. It went really good. It was a hernia removal on a 5 year old.”
He frowned. “How does a 5 year old get a hernia?”
“When their intestines bulge through the abdominal wall inside the belly button they can develop one.”
“That sound painful. How was it seeing it?”
Moriah smiled as she wiped down the counter. “It was really cool honestly. It was crazy to see how big it was. She was a trooper though.”
“Yeah? She went home today?”
“Uhn uhn. She'll be there two more days and she's excited about it cause she doesn't wanna leave me.”
He chucked. “I bet you love that.”
“A lil,” she laughed.
He let her finish her cleaning in silence, keeping his eyes on her. Javier came back out to the living room and got comfortable on the sofa, remote in hand.
“You got your alarm set, Javi?”
“Yup, all set, Rye.”
“Your phone on the charger?”
He sat up to check it. “Yup, it's good. Can I watch TV?”
“Sure,” she smiled, “If you want a snack or drink, you're welcome to whatever is in the kitchen, Javi.”
He grinned at her before turning his attention to the TV. “Thank you.”
Zilla approached Moriah, speaking softly. “Can we talk outside, Fat?” When she agreed, he grabbed her hand. “We gon step outside for a few, Javi. Yell if you need us.”
They sat beside each other on the first step, shoulder to shoulder. The night breeze gently whipped around them.
“First, let me apologize for walkin’ out like that and not lettin’ you know I was aight. No matter how upset I was, that wasn't right.”
“I accept your apology, Zay.”
“Second, I don't hate you and I'm not mad at you so get that thought out your head. You my Fat and I love you.”
She nodded, blinking a few tears out. “I love you too.”
“I can't imagine how scared you was that whole time and the pain that must've caused. You needed me and I wasn't there, I'm sorry, Moriah.”
She laid her head on his shoulder, crying softly. She wanted to tell him that he didn't need to apologize but she needed to hear that.
“Thank you for apologizing. I gotta be honest, a part of the reason I was so mad at you and refused to come see you was because of Angel.” She admitted softly. “I knew that my mom would've probably still did what she did if you weren't locked up but I wanted you there. I needed you, Angel needed you and you left us.”
His face scrunched as he tried and failed to keep his tears at bay. They betrayed him, slipping from his eyes in rapid succession. He moved the arm she laid on, wrapping it around her and pulling her closer to him.
Tumblr media
“I regret not being there for you and him, it's something ima spend the rest of my life tryna make up for. I appreciate you been honest with me, Fat. I gotta be honest with you too.”
“I'm listening.”
“I love you and I don't wanna lose you but if you let your mom back in your life, I can't promise that ima stay. My love for you is the only thing keepin me from doin anything to her. I can't have her in my life, Moriah.” He spoke honestly. “She took our baby from us and probably any possibility of having another. She took what would've been a piece of my pops from me and my family. Do you get that?”
“I got it, Zay. I do.”
“That's the only thing I'm asking of you. Keep her out of our lives. She don't want shit but to tear us down and tear us apart. You got me, my family, your dad and the rest of your family … you don't need shit from her.”
“I'm done with her. She's not coming back unless you and I decide that she can. I've washed my hands of her. I promise.”
Nodding, he put his finger under her chin tilting her head back. He wiped the lingering tears from her face then kissed her softly.
“I love you, aight?”
“Aight,” she giggled softly. “I love you more.”
“Damn I missed you.”
“Not as much as I missed you, big head.”
“Two more things though.”
She raised a brow waiting for him to finish.
“We changing your number tomorrow.”
“Okay, second thing?”
“Since Zilla can't get you pregnant right now, can Zilla throw his condoms out?” He laughed.
“Boy,” she laughed, “They're tied not burnt but I guess you can throw them out.”
“What that mean?”
“It means that there's a small chance that I can get pregnant but very small. And if we want I can reverse the procedure but it's not guaranteed to work.”
Zilla pecked her lips a few times making her giggle. “Well guess we gon find out how small that chance is.”

In exchange for the vent below have my younger sis being the funniest fucking person alive
It is genuinely stunning to me that after 20+ years of living with me and observing my general existence, my parents are still completely BAFFLED by how sensory overloads work, especially when I have explained over and over and over again that the primary causes of mine are noise and crowd related. It is perhaps MORE stunning to me that my parents will repeatedly insist that my needs are important while telling me about all the people we HAAAAAVE to invite and telling me that I can have a smaller wedding if I limit it to immediate family, which definitely eliminates cousins that mister chel and myself are close with and presumably eliminates our fucking friends?
“You know we’re paying for it, right, like you don’t have to pay us back” when did we decide this? Did I come to you and ask for you to pay for my wedding? Or did you guys just decide this yourselves and put down a whole bunch of stipulations that I never agreed to, and COULDNT have agreed to on account of I didn’t know about them until after I mentioned that, between my sensory overload issues and mister chel just generally being opposed to inviting people he doesn’t know, we would prefer a smaller wedding?
I didn’t even get to pick the guests for my fucking engagement party! My parents put together a list for my side and then told me I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAVE to invite all the engagement party guests to the wedding. Several of whom are vocally homophobic or transphobic. One of whom (my aunt) has actively forbidden my cousin—not even her kid! My cousin just happens to live with that aunt!—from transitioning because the idea of living with a trans person apparently makes her uncomfortable. Another of whom (my uncle) would absolutely disown his trans granddaughter (aforementioned cousin) if she ever came out to him. (And also keeps misidentifying himself as my godfather—he’s not, he’s my sister’s godfather, which speaks volumes about how much of a shit he gives about my branch of the family—but that’s a side issue.)
If my needs are so important, why do you keep coming up with bullshit “solutions” to my sensory overloads instead of actually listening when I tell you, hey, having this many people at my wedding is going to send me into a sensory overload/panic attack/mental breakdown? No, a fucking weighted blanket on my lap will not help. No, having stim toys at my table will not help, even if you put them AT EVERY TABLE TO “MAKE IT LESS WEIRD”, AN ACTUAL SUGGESTION MY MOTHER HAS OFFERED FOR MY FUCKING WEDDING. No, a fucking scavenger hunt will DEFINITELY not help, which you would know if you actually paid attention when the Google search for “sensory friendly weddings”—which I also googled—gave you seventeen results for accommodating GUESTS, primarily CHILDREN, and the one or two results regarding sensory issues in the actual couple emphasized A SMALL, INTIMATE WEDDING. Or if you googled sensory overloads and looked at the five different health website articles that said “idk sometimes meds help but really if you’re having a sensory overload Just Fucking Leave”.
“I’m not trying to pressure you either way” oh yeah because telling me I’ll get less gifts and won’t have a place to recover from potential sensory overload if I have a smaller wedding is DEFINITELY not pressuring me into a bigger wedding, not at ALL.
And yet when I call out this bs I get told “oh we’re not putting social obligations over your needs” uh huh. If that were the case you’d fucking listen to me. I can’t even be like “hey if you guys are going to be like this we’ll pay for the wedding ourselves” because when I tried that my dad told me it was “insulting.” God.
This isn’t even addressing the fact that mom REALLY wants me to incorporate “subtle” pride themes into the wedding while also having complained that I’m not getting married in a church and that her “Catholic bloodline” is “dying” despite my sister being a regular fucking churchgoer. Like maam. I have they/them pronouns set on my Facebook. Do you honestly think they’re going to let me get married in a church. didn’t you go on a rant about how it’s SOOOOOO HAAAAAAARD for you that I’m not fully out. You know that a church wedding would force me back in the closet right.
Mom: maybe you could ease your overstimulation by having something interactive? Like a scavenger hunt?
A) do you understand the concept of overstimulation b) AT MY FUCKING WEDDING???????

Words: 1,623 Pairing: Daryl Dixon x Reader Reader pronouns: she/her Era: the prison Warnings: sexuality, mentions and descriptions of childhood trauma and physical abuse, domestic abuse Summary: On a supply run, a thunderstorm hits and it seems to paralyze Y/N. Requested by: anon! thanks for this cute request, dearheart! I hope you love it!
Your name: submit What is this?
“What’re ya doin’?”
Daryl’s voice came from right behind you and was followed shortly after by his hands on your hips, so light they were almost floating over your curves.
“What’s it look like?” you asked, your hand still on the pull of the nearest cabinet. “Checking for any overlooked supplies.”
Daryl’s body pressed into yours and you were caught between him and the counter. You couldn’t help but smile and bite your bottom lip. “Can ya maybe do that later?” he drawled. You felt his fingertips pressing into your hips more tightly and he leaned into you, breathing in the scent of your hair.
You laughed, reeling with tingles and goosebumps at his touch, your face flushing pink at this still new intimacy. “I suppose I can,” you said. You turned to face him and his expression was soft but needy. Another bloom of heat started in your chest and grew outwards. His hands drifted from your hips up to the curve of your waist and back down.
“Good.”
You licked your lips and then looped your arms around his neck. “This was your plan all along, wasn’t it? Get me out here to ‘search for supplies’. Alone. No one else around. Total privacy.”
One corner of his mouth flicked upwards and he shrugged, his fingers tapping lightly on your hips. “Maybe.” You thought his ears and cheeks till turned a little red and you slipped your fingers into his hair. “Don’t ya think it’s about damn time we had some fuckin’ privacy?” He grabbed you by the waist and lifted you up onto the edge of the counter. You let out a surprised gasp and then laughed gaily.
You chewed on your bottom lip briefly, loving the desirous look in his bright blue eyes. “Mhmmm. I can be as loud as I want,” you whispered with a smile.
He let out a sigh that had the edge of a growl to it and his hands drifted down from your hips, over your thighs to your knees and then back up, pressing against the denim of your jeans. He stepped in more closely to you and pressed his lips to the side of your neck, eliciting a sigh from you that you had no control over. You pulled him in against you more tightly, scooting right to the edge of the counter, his hips pressing against the inside of your legs.
Daryl pulled back just long enough to study your face and brush your hair out of your eyes before his lips crashed against yours, insistent and fiery.
You were sinking into him, getting lost in his touch, biting his bottom lip because you knew it drove him crazy, when a sudden crack of thunder and flash of white-hot lightning burned at the edges of the covered windows. You jumped and then froze still as stone. Daryl felt your body go rigid beneath his hands.
He pulled back, his arms wrapping lightly around your lower back. You had a wide-eyed, stunned look on your face. “S’just a storm. S’alright,” he drawled.
But his words seemed to have almost no effect on you. You certainly didn’t look relieved.
“Y/N. Hey. Ya alright?”
You blinked a few times like you were trying to clear something out of your head. Your chest was heaving with anxious breaths, your heart whirring in your chest and making you feel a little light-headed.
Daryl clasped your face gently in one hand. “Y/N.” You finally met his eyes and felt some sense of relief at the weight of him against you. It was grounding when you were worried about plummeting into that dark abyss, standing on a precipice barely wide enough for your feet.
Another growling roll of thunder and a loud crack, magnesium white lightning finding its way in around the curtains. Daryl felt you start shaking beneath his hands and his brow furrowed more deeply. “Hey. S’goin’ on?”
You gulped at the constriction in your throat and squeezed your eyes shut. I’m okay. I’m okay. Just bad memories. I’m okay. A flashback was looming over you, ready to consume you at any moment. But suddenly Daryl had lifted you into his arms and you clutched onto him tightly. His brow was wrinkled with concern and without a word he carried you to the makeshift bed the two of you had laid out on the floor in the other room, layers of blankets and bedding. He set you down gently and your fingers stayed clutching onto his vest, holding on to keep yourself rooted in the here and now.
His hands didn’t leave you, and you were grateful for that. You met his blue eyes as he smoothed your hair. You felt tears welling up, blurring your vision and you drew in a shaky breath before collapsing against his chest, breathing in his smell, feeling his warmth. His hands smoothed up and down your back gently.
“S’alright,” he murmured, and you could hear it echoing in his chest. After some time of just holding you, he finally spoke again. “I remember—when we were on the road—the storm… ya were,” he shook his head vaguely, “but I thought it was just ‘cause it was so bad and all we had was a damn barn to keep us outta it. But it’s more than that, hmm?”
You straightened up and he was studying your expression, waiting patiently in case you wanted to speak. You had to steel yourself to drag it up. You’d always done your best to keep it buried, carrying a shovel around slung over your shoulder in case you needed it at a moment’s notice. But this was Daryl. And you could tell him. And maybe if you spoke it, it would lessen the burden.
You smoothed a hand down his chest and blinked away the tears stinging your eyes. “I was afraid of storms when I was a kid. My stepdad—he—he said I was too old to be afraid of them and that it wasn’t right for me to come running for my mom in the middle of the night.” You wet your lips and cleared your throat, fighting the tightness that was threatening to strangle your voice. Another roll of thunder sounded outside and you flinched. Daryl’s hand smoothed up and down your back. “Whenever it stormed, I tried to stay in bed—I really did but I just—I would panic. My stepdad would be furious when I ran into their room, waking them up… I just wanted to be with my mom. But he—he said I needed to ‘get over it’ and ‘face my fears’.” You had to stop for a moment and triy to slow your breathing and bounding heart. You’d never told anyone, except a therapist, what you were about to tell him. “We had a shed in the backyard, and when it stormed, when I came running for my mom, he’d discipline me.” A tear escaped your eyes and you hastily wiped it away. “And then he’d drag me into the backyard and throw me in the shed. He locked me in there until it was over. Just—in the dark with the lightning and—the whole time I always thought the shed was going to come down around me.” You sniffled and wiped away a few more tears that had leaked out. The sound of rain was no steady on the roof.
“Yer mom didn’t—”
“She couldn’t,” you interrupted him, shaking your head sadly. “He had total control over her. Beat her black and blue sometimes. She wasn’t in a place to do anything for me…”
Thunder cracked again outside and you flinched, squeezing your eyes shut, wiping away more tears with a shaky hand. Daryl moved closer to you and you sat down in front of him and leaned back so you could feel the expansion of his lungs, his body against yours. He draped his arms around you.
“How old were ya?” he asked quietly. You found his deep voice, the rough grit to it, soothing.
“Seven. When it started.”
Daryl was silent for a long time, struggling with some of his own memories that your story was bringing to the surface, but he finally heaved a heavy sigh and his fingertips trailed up your bare arms lightly. “Ya shoulda never had to go through that. ‘M sorry.”
You turned to look up at him over your shoulder and smiled sadly. “It’s not your fault. But thank you.”
He leaned forward and pressed a kiss to your forehead. You leaned back against him more heavily and he wrapped his arms around you tight. The two of you waited out the storm that way. You didn’t know how long it took, but being in his arms seemed to speed it past.
“I’ve never told anyone that before,” you said at length.
Daryl’s heart ached and he tangled his fingers into your hair, chewing on his bottom lip. “Thanks fer trustin’ me.”
You hadn’t been officially together with him for long, but you had already fallen hard. He was your escape. “I trust you with my whole heart, Daryl.”
Daryl felt his cheeks flush with heat. “Not sure I deserve that.”
You turned and clasped his face gently, a sad look on your face. “You do. That, and a lot more.” You pressed your lips to his and melted into each other, passing the night wrapped in the feeling of realizing that you’ve found home in another person.

❝sleeping habbits, liyue edition❞
Pairings: Xiao x gn!reader, Ganyu x gn!reader, Zhongli x gn!reader, Keqing x gn!reader
<- Mondstadt edition
A/N: I just thought it'd be cute, okay?
P.s. This is a modern au just because
Tumblr media
He sleeps with a nightlight and you cannot tell me otherwise
Don't tease him about it! He will get all cold and snappy
You know why he keeps it on though, it helps with the nightmares
Xiao doesn't really like to sleep, so sometimes you have to coax him into bed
Even then, he's always up before you are
You rub your eyes awake, rolling over to his side of the bed. It was cold, evident that he'd been up for a while now. The window was open, letting in the cool morning air. Xiao always said it helped calm him when his head started getting too loud.
"Breakfast is getting cold," came a gruff voice.
He was leaning against the doorframe.
"It's not my fault you made it so damn early," you yawned and stretched, not bothering to even sit up.
"Come kiss me good morning, or else I'm going back to sleep."
You closed your eyes, offering him your cheek while still comfortably swaddled in blankets. It took some time for him to come over, the crossed arms and annoyed face did nothing to cover his red cheeks.
Briefly pressed his lips to your temple, muttering a "childish" before he walked out.
Sometimes, you'd even have to sing him to sleep
He won't ask you to do it, but when you do, he sleeps relatively better
Acts like he doesn't want you close but when you snuggle up to him, he never refuses
Lets you steal all the blankets because he'd give you the world if you asked for it
Tumblr media
The type of person to have a schedule of when to sleep and when to wake up
According to Ganyu, sunlight is nature's alarm clock
She keeps the curtains open to let natural moonlight in because for some reason, it makes her feel safe. And in the morning, she's up when the first rays of sunshine hit her face
Would love to sleep in if she could honestly, but duty calls (she'll just take an afternoon nap later)
Also snores lightly, not enough to disturb you, but enough for you to coo to yourself at how adorable she sounds
For some reason, it was still dark, and you were already awake.
"What time is it," you made sure to lower your voice, then propping up your body on your elbows to check the time on Ganyu's bedside table.
"4:32 am...what the hell..."
You looked over to your sleeping girlfriend, hair looking an even deeper hue of indigo due to the pre-sunrise sky. She whimpered, shifting about a little, and you were afraid she would wake up, so you caressed hair ever so gently.
"Shh, it's alright," you whispered. "That's it, don't wake up yet, you've got a busy day tomorrow."
You kept your hand on the side of her head, eventually falling asleep to her soft snores and the peacefulness of it all.
She gets cold feet, so one day you decided to buy her a bunch of cute socks and now she wears them everywhere. Even to work!
Ganyu also likes scented candles, preferably nature inspired fragrances like rain, grass, etc
You grew to like them as well, and now you both can't sleep without lighting one every night before bed
Tumblr media
This man sleeps like a rock
No pun intended, I'm being serious
If anyone remembers that scene in Mulan 2 when Mushu unsucessfully tries to wake Shang up by crashing his cymbals? Then yeah, like that
Minus the part where Shang eventually wakes up
I'm only half kidding
He doesn't move either. Like at all.
Zhongli would stay in the same position throughout the night, which is usually facing you
This makes for opportunities
"Lao gong~" you inched your face closer to his, testing if he was asleep before proceeding admiring him as if he were a marble statue at a museum.
You poked his cheek. No reaction. You brushed his bangs away from his forehead, kissing him there, down to his nose and then at the corner of his mouth. You'd have to save one more for later.
"Truly, how did I get so lucky?" You settled in between one arm, lying your head down on his chest.
If only we could stay like this forever. That would be enough.
The beating of his heart matched yours, the sheets intermingled your warmth with his, never have you felt this connected to another being. In the quiet moments of the night, you told him you loved him.
*lăo gōng (老公) a sweet way of calling one's husband
Whenever either of you have trouble sleeping, tea is always the answer (or just for those cold nights)
Therefore, a boiler, tea pots/cups, and a variety of tea bags could be found in the bedroom
Goodnight kisses are a must, almost always given from him to you.
Tumblr media
No matter when she sleeps, Keqing will always wake up at the same time every morning
And no matter where you both start out at the beginning of the night, she would always end up tangled with you
Not that you mind, but she got all huffy and embarrassed at first
Now she just accepts that it's her fault
Something was tickling your nose. In a bleary daze, you tried to lift your hand to swipe whatever annoyance was causing it--to no avail. Both your arms, and even your legs were locked down by a weight.
You blowed at it, scrunched up your face to hopefully get rid of the itch. Which backfired because your movements caused Keqing to stir, tilting her head up a bit and shoving hair into your already violated nostrils.
"Oh archons I'm gonna..." your eyes turned watery, shoulders rising as you tried to suppress it. And failed, yet again.
"A-ACHOO!"
You lurched violently, waking your lover up in the process. But at least the itch went away, and your limbs were no longer constricted!
"Y/N, couldn't you have sneezed into a pillow?" Keqing grumbled (as you can tell, not a morning person).
"I'm sorry I'm sorry, it's just...your head was so close to my face and-"
She held up a palm as if to say 'I get it, please shut up', and laid back down, scooching to the end of her side of the mattress.
As if that would do anything! She'd likely invade your territory again before daybreak, you guarantee it.
"Uhh- tian xin, maybe if you tied your hair? You know you're just going to come to me again."
Keqing thought about it for a moment (or maybe drowsiness delayed her reaction time), so she reached into her bedside drawer, handing you a ribbon.
She spread out her locks onto the pillow and turned to face the other way, pointing for you to do it for her.
You chuckled, getting to work, even giving her a short scalp massage in the process. After tying the knot, she was back to being fast asleep.
Snaking an arm around her waist, you kissed her shoulder, wishing to join her once again in slumber.
*tián xīn (甜心) meaning sweetheart
**mom i'm finally using my sucky chinese for something useful, aren't you proud?
You can't tell me she doesn't have at least one Morax plushie
One time you got jealous because it was like that one meme
Ah yes, my girlfriend and her favourite thing to cuddle to sleep, her Rex Lapis doll
You find out that Keqing actually needs to hold something to sleep properly
Which is cute but she'd deny deny deny
Later on, she latches onto you (as shown above)
You're warm, she says

Sometimes the girls butt heads, sometimes they tear each other to shreds. This got kinda long so im breaking it into two parts since i have two sketches for it anyways. Enjoy the gory angst under the cut my lovelies (and the sketch although kinda messy)
(Also in case there’s any confusion, here’s my hc on how the daughter’s mutations work. Just in case anyone looks at this and thinks why tf does she have weird bat wings)
Butting heads part 1 (p2)
“Shut up, Bela! Shut the fuck up!”
The shout, bordering on a howl, could be heard all throughout the lower levels of the castle. Cassandra was pinned to the wall by her older sister, an arm pressed firmly against her throat. She was thrashing wildly, talon tipped fingers ripping at anything they could reach. But Bela was more focused on the elongating sharp fangs snapping in her direction.
“Cassandra calm down-”
“No. You don’t know shit! Fuck you!”
Her skin was starting to turn ashy and thick, dark blood was dripping from her nose and mouth, some of it splattering on Bela’s face. The mutation was even causing her flies to destabilize, part of the swarm buzzing frantically around them, unable to find its place.
The situation was escalating quickly and Bela’s calm was cracking under her sister's talons. Too focused on keeping Cassandra in place, she couldn’t will her flies to break apart and reform when long claws were slashing at her arms. She could feel her own blood coating her skin and soaking her dress.
Even on a good day, Cassandra was physically the strongest. What she may have lacked in speed she made up for in sheer brute force. And that was when she looked like a semi normal human.
Daniela was well aware of this, so when she approached the two to help, Bela’s head quickly snapped in her direction.
“No, Dani stay ba-”
The small distraction was all Cassandra needed to push herself off the brick wall and come crashing down on top of her sister. Her hand was pushing down with all her weight crushing bone and muscle. A choked yelp escaped Bela’s lips when her sister suddenly bit down on her midsection, close to the bottom of her ribcage, and yanked her head back, pulling apart the blood soaked skin.
Then everything went black.
Bela could faintly hear a fourth voice drowned out by frantic buzzing. Were the flies hers or Cassandra’s? The heavy weight on top of her was lifted and all she could do was curl up and groan in pain. She instinctively tried to cover her abdomen but when her hand came in contact with exposed and torn muscle, pain shot through her entire body like a bullet. Her right arm also seemed to not obey her, pain joining in on the agony party each time she tried to lift it off the dirty floor. The floor had been clean before. Why did it feel so grimy under her body now? The only explanation that her hazy mind could come up with was that she was laying in a puddle of blood. Whether it was hers, Cassandra’s or both was up to debate.
A series of strangled growls reached her ears accompanied by a rushed exchange of words and the buzzing was starting to feel like static and everything was so goddamn loud.
She was somewhat snapped out of her haze when a pair of arms lifted her along with a gentle voice.
“Hey, hey, you’re good I got you”
“Daniela?”
Her youngest sister’s face came slowly into focus after realizing that her inability to see was caused by keeping her eyes tightly shut. She wouldn't normally allow such vulnerability but right now she was tired and the entirety of her upper body hurt and each breath was painfully ragged. So she defeatedly leaned on her sister’s shoulder and allowed herself to be carried to what she assumed was the infirmary.
----
A couple hallways away, Alcina was carrying her thrashing and growling middle daughter. Without another body to claw at, Cassandra resorted to sinking her talons into her own flesh, clearly in pain now. Her mother quickened her pace and finally ducked into a bedroom. It was one of the more barren rooms of the castle, with only a couple pieces of furniture and a large bed inside. It had no decoration that could be crashed into and cause her child any more injuries.
Cassandra was gingerly lowered on the soft sheets, Alcinas tenderness a stark contrast to her daughter’s violent shaking and clawing at the fabric on the bed.
Cassandra had yet to regain any semblance of conscious thought. All Alcina could do for her was sit beside her and wait for hunger to take over enough for her body to be too weak to exist in that state. She tried gentle strokes, but each touch, no matter how gentle, broke the skin into a small frantic swarm that seemed to struggle to find its place again. It felt like hours before Cassandra stopped spasming, but with how fast hunger settled in when the girls mutated it couldn’t have been more than ten minutes.
“Mom?” Her voice came out raspy and choked, probably due to the blood stuck in her throat.
“I’m here little one.”
Alcina tentatively stroked her daughter’s damp hair. When her form remained whole, she gently pulled her head in her lap.
“It hurts-”
Her complaint was cut short with a groan at the searing pain caused by hunger. She wrapped her arms around her midsection in an useless attempt to ease her own suffering.
Alcina winced at how Cassandra was dipping her talons into the skin of her abdomen, too delirious to realize that was only causing more pain. So she grabbed her hands and held them still.
Cassandra started to shake again, mumbling under her breath.
“We were-...were hunting and I” she interrupted herself with a sob “messed up. Bela an…. ‘m sorry-”
“Shh, it’s okay love. You need to focus on going back to normal now darling,” Alcina cooed.
Cassandra scrunched her nose and shut her eyes. She did her best to focus on the flies that formed her body, willing them to set back in their rightful place and to stop shifting and breaking apart. She had mild success and now the big frantic swarm was reduced to a smaller group of flies still buzzing about the room. The hunger and pain were still present as ever though, her bones and muscles breaking and tearing apart from the mutation’s effects.
Alcina praised her for regaining some semblance of control and told her something that fell on deaf ears. The next thing the brunette knew was that she was being shifted off her mother’s lap and out of instinct she grabbed the white dress in order to keep her near.
“Darling, did you hear me?” Alcina’s voice was soft and she waited until her daughter’s eyes were focused on her to continue. “I’m going to bring you something to eat. I’ll be back in 5 minutes.”
Cassandra only groaned in response, the mere mention of food worsening the pain in her abdomen. She nodded slowly and curled back into herself, allowing her mother to exit the room in a rush.
Left alone, she kept trying to fight against her own body. She could feel the sickening cracks of her bones placing themselves back in position. Her muscles felt like writhing parasites under her skin, shifting and twisting and occasionally falling apart into flies to reposition themselves. The hunger was the perfect cherry on top of the agony cake she was feeling.
It felt like an eternity before the door finally opened and her mother approached the bed with a big plate of fresh raw meat. Cassandra started to dig in the moment it was within her reach. She didn’t know exactly what body part she was chewing on at the moment but she didn’t care in the slightest. It took her no more than five minutes to finish everything, almost choking a couple of times.
She sighed in relief and let her head fall back on the now stained sheets. The pain was still present, but it felt more like a dull ache rather than jolts shaking her entire body. The comforting circles that her mother was rubbing on her back were also helping.
“How are you feeling, little one?”
“Better.”
Alcina smiled fondly at her daughter, leaning down to place a soft kiss on the top of her head.
“Will you be alright on your own for a bit? I need to check on Bela-”
The brunette’s head snapped up, eyes wide. She had forgotten how this mess started in the first place and now that she remembered, guilt started to gnaw at her like the ache in her bones.
“I’ll come with y-”
“Ah ah ah, you will do no such thing. Rest for now, I’m sure she’s fine,” she lied. The image of Bela laying on the floor in a puddle of her own blood and her upper body almost torn to shreds was seared in her mind. The only comfort right now came from the fact that Daniela was taking care of her and, while unpredictable, her youngest cared deeply about her sisters and was more than capable of patching wounds.
Alcina planted another kiss on Cassandra's head and placed a blanket on top of her. She left her side with the promise of coming back shortly and exited the room, door left just slightly ajar so she could hear if her daughter called for her.

Jimin’s eyes roll back, displeased to see Taehyung at your door, get well soon package in hand and a shameful expression painted on his face. “She said I could come over to pick up some notes…” The taller boy mumbles, abashed that even with all the trouble he caused you, you still prepared what he needed, just as you said. “I’ll leave after I make it right.”
“You hurt her, I’ll hurt you.” Is all your roommate grumbles out before stepping aside and letting the slightly unwelcome guest into your humble abode. “You know where her room is.”
A gentle knock sounds at your door, but your head feels too tight for you to do anything about it besides blow into another tissue. “Jimin I don’t want to talk about it—”
“I’m not Jimin…” He murmurs, eyes failing to meet yours from the guilt pitted in his stomach. “Before you kick me out, I just wanted to give you these. This is soup, your mom’s recipe, some cough and flu medicine my grandma used to use when I got sick, and a weighted blanket because I know how much you’ve been wanting one.”
He flinches as you hack loudly, eyes red and puffy, struggling to focus on his face. “How did you get in here? We changed,” you choke out another cough, “we changed the locks last week and I haven’t given you a key yet.”
Trying not to smile, he mumbles. “I might’ve told Jimin you knew I was coming. In my defense, I just wanted to give these to you in person and apologize again, although I know that apologies don’t do much…”
His head hangs low as his voice fades away, and you can’t help but shake your head at him. “I’m not mad anymore Taehyung. I’m sorry for overreacting yesterday, I was just upset.”
“I get why. I’m not reliable or a good friend, really. I don’t know why you keep me around.” He chuckles a bit, setting the things he brought for you on your bed gently before straightening back up. “You deserve a better best friend than me, huh?”
You shake your head. “No, you’re amazing, honestly I don’t think I deserve someone as sweet and thoughtful as you half the time.”
“You’re just saying that.” He laughs, the two of you falling into your usual banter. After a bit, he winds up beside you, the two of you watching an old comedy flick when he leans closer to you, closing his eyes as he leaves a kiss on your head, his lips lingering as he maffles against your skin quietly. “No date is worth more to me than you are, I promise. You’re the most important person to me.” His body gradually begins to shudder against you as a quiet sob leaves his lips. “I’m so sorry…”
Somehow, even when he messes up so grandly, you always end up letting him off the hook, even comforting him when it truly should be the other way around. Your hand rubbing his back to soothe his sadness while nobody’s there to wipe your own silent tears.

As Soon As I Can
Nestor Oceteva x F!Reader
Request from @alienstardust:  Umm All the angst in those childhood prompts. I’m a fan! Yes! <3 Maybe something with Nestor? 💫 thank you
I went with this prompt from This Post: When Person A and Person B were kids, Person A broke their arm and had to wear a cast for a while. To make them feel better, Person B decorated it by drawing a bunch of doodles and quotes all over it. When Person A finally got the cast off, they asked the doctor if they could keep it. Years later, Person A takes the cast to a tattoo artist and gets all of Person B’s doodles and quotes tattooed onto their arm so they can wear them forever.
Warnings: language, angst, hospitals
Word Count: 3.8k
A/N: I looooooved writing this. Writing has been tough for me lately but this just felt really right. This is my first fic where I’ve done a lot of time skips within the story so hopefully it flows alright. Hope you guys enjoy! xo

You and Nestor were sitting in your back yard, sprawled out together under the one tree that managed to survive so many years in the California heat. You were laying on your back, cast-bound arm lying rigidly out to the side. You were staring up through the leaves as you listened to Nestor talk.
“At least they let you pick the color,” he was next to you, laying on his stomach as he dug through his backpack.
You laugh was heavy with sarcasm, “Yea, if I’m not gonna be able to move my arm for the next eight weeks it’s the least they could fucking do.”
“You sound bitter.”
You looked over at him, “I am bitter.”
He chuckled and shook his head, he was about to come back with a witty remark when he got distracted by finding whatever he had been looking for. He smiled as he pulled it out, “Aha!” he held up his pack of Sharpies.
“What’re those for?” you nodded towards the markers.
“For your cast.”
“You’re gonna decorate my cast?” you had to laugh.
“Yea,” he was carefully choosing a few different markers to start with, “Maybe it’ll make you feel better about totally eating it falling off your skateboard the other day.”
You laughed as you reached over and shoved him with your good arm, “Shut up—like you haven’t fallen a million times.”
“No casts for me, though,” there was a cocky smirk on his face.
“No casts for me, though,” you mocked as you tried not to laugh.
You watched him in semi-silence as he started at your wrist and slowly but surely made his way up your cast, covering it with all sorts of doodles and quotes. Sometimes you forgot how artistic he could be. You went back and forth between watching him and just resting your head back and closing your eyes. Neither of you kept track of the time as he stayed sprawled on his stomach beside you. the two of you probably would’ve stayed out until dark if your mom hadn’t stuck her head out and said that Nestor’s brother was there to pick him up and bring him home. Nestor threw all of his things back into his bag before helping you up.
Once he was gone, you took some time to actually look at the cast. You smiled at the amount of work he put into something that you were only going to have for a couple months. Your fingers traced lightly over the many marker lines that now covered your cast. Your mother looked over your shoulder at the artwork, a smile passing over her lips for a moment.
“Did Nestor do that?”
You nodded, not taking your eyes off of your arm, “Yea.”
She nodded, “That was sweet of him.”
You scoffed trying to suppress the smile on your face, “I guess.”
The next eight weeks passed by. And, despite the fact that having your arm in a cast was incredibly inconvenient, it could have been a lot worse. Nestor walked with you to all of your classes, offering to carry your backpack despite the fact that you told him that your busted arm had nothing to do with your ability to carry a bag. Whenever the two of you were together and things were quiet, he would keep adding onto the tiny mural that was your cast. Sometimes you wondered how much more he could fit on it, but he always found a way. For as much as you wanted it off, you were going to miss the bonding time for the two of you. And you were going to miss the artwork, too.
“So,” the doctor smiled and nodded at you, “you are all good to go. We can get the cast off and you’ll be as good as new.”
“Yea?” the thought of having your arm back made you feel giddy.
“Absolutely.”
You felt like a new person once your arm was free of the confines of the cast. Letting out a sigh of relief, you rotated your wrist a few times and carefully ran your fingers over the freshly-exposed skin, glad to feel like you were back in control of your own body.
“I can get rid of this,” your doctor held up the cast he’d just finished so carefully removing, “Unless you want to keep it as a momento.”
“Um, actually,” you felt your face heating up as you avoided eye contact with your mother, “Could I keep it?”
The doctor nodded, smiling as he handed it over to you, “It’s quite the work of art at this point—I understand wanting to hold onto it.”
On the drive home, you felt your mother glancing over at you every couple of minutes, a knowing smile on her face. You tried to ignore it but eventually you broke.
“What?” you were careful of your tone.
She laughed quietly and shook her head, “Nothing. Just, I think it’s nice that you’re keeping it, that’s all.”
“Mhm,” you tried to ignore the heat rising in your cheeks again, but that only made it worse.
You never told Nestor that you kept the cast. You never really knew exactly why you didn’t tell him—the two of you told each other pretty much everything else. The two of you spent almost all of your free time together, and as soon as he found out that your cast had been removed he was dragging you right back out to do things that could potentially break your arm all over again, and you let him. He never asked about the cast, so you never brought it up. There were moments, as the two of you got a little older, where you wanted to mention it to him in passing that it was something that you kept, but the moment never seemed quite right. Each time you went to clean out your room and your closet you would come across it, and each time you were faced with the decision of whether or not you wanted to keep it, and you always did. You always told yourself that you didn’t know why, but you knew.
--
“Alright,” you were trying not to let yourself get too emotional as you sat cross-legged on his bed watching him pack “You can’t do anything stupid while I’m not around to yell at you for it, alright?”
He chuckled as he shoved another shirt into his bag, “Trust me, there will be plenty of other people around to yell at me. That’s the whole point of—”
“But they can’t do it as well as I can.”
He glanced over at you, a small smile on his face. He knew how upset you were despite the fact that you were still being supportive. Him going into the Navy was something that you hadn’t seen coming. The thought of him being gone for so long after the two of you had spent so much of your lives practically joined at the hip was a bit jarring. You knew the ache in your chest was caused by more feelings than you were ready to admit to him, or to yourself.
“It’s not like you’ll never hear from me.”
You huffed, “Snail mail is not the same as bothering you in person,” you flopped backwards on the bed, “And for the record I still think it’s bullshit that you don’t get to call me.”
He laughed as he stood up and sat on the bed, looking down at you, “Don’t be dramatic. I’ll be in basic for less time than you had that stupid cast on your arm.”
“Yea but it’s not like you’re coming right home after that.”
He nodded, his expression sobering a little as he continued to look at you, “I know.”
“You’ll come home to visit me as soon as you can?”
He chuckled, nodding, “As soon as I can.”
For a moment you thought about spilling your guts—telling him everything that you were thinking and feeling. There was something about the way that he was looking at you that made you feel like maybe he felt the same way. But the confidence that shot through you went away as quickly as it appeared, and the moment passed as he continued to pack his things.
True to his word, you got letters in the mail. You saved each one, kept them stashed away in your closet alongside the cast that was still there collecting dust even after years of being shuffled around. You sent more letters than you received, not that you really minded. You figured that he needed them more than you did.
However as the months ticked by, you waited for him to say he was coming home, but he never did. It was one thing right into the next and the more time that passed by, the more you wondered if this was how he slipped away from you, even though he swore that that wouldn’t happen. He reached out when he could, when he had the time. And you knew that he had other priorities, and realistically you did too. But there was still part of you that felt like things were changing too much.
Your heart sped up inside your chest when you got a late-night phone call from him. You scrambled to answer it, “Hello?”
“Hey,” he sounded exhausted.
“Hey,” you pulled your blanket up to your chin as you spoke to him, “H-how are you?”
“I’m alright,” he sighed, “It’s good to hear your voice.”
You smiled despite the weight settling in your chest, “It’s good to hear yours too. I miss you.”
“I miss you too.”
You didn’t want to push and pry, but you couldn’t help asking, “When are you coming home?”
There was a long pause before he spoke up again, “I, uh, I don’t really know.”
“Don’t they give you guys leave or something?”
He let out a tired chuckle, “Yea. But, um, I’m not sure if I’m going to be coming home for leave anytime soon.”
Your heart crumped inside your chest, “Why not?”
“Got some shit that I’m working on lining up here. Doesn’t hurt to stay close.”
You hated that your bottom lip was beginning to tremble, “Right.”
He knew you too well and you could hear the shift in his tone, “I’m sorry.”
“No, no,” you replied immediately, “Fuck, don’t be sorry. I’m proud of you, really. Keep…keep doing your thing.”
“Thank you for always being there. It’s been…it’s been nice knowing someone is in my corner when no one else seems to be,” there was a beat of silence, “You seen my family lately?”
You took a deep breath, “No. Why, everything alright?”
He sighed, “Wouldn’t know.”
You pressed your lips together into a tight line—things had never been simple for him when it came to family, “I’m sorry.”
“Don’t be. I’ll be home to see you as soon as I can be, alright?”
Your breath was shaky as you exhaled, “Alright,” you were about to say goodbye but your brain betrayed you, “Hey, Nestor?”
“Yea?”
“I love you,” the words fell from your lips, free of their confines after so many years of locking them away.
It might’ve been you projecting, but you could’ve sworn that he let out a sigh of relief, “I love you too.”
--
That was the last thing that you’d heard from him. He went radio silent after that. You wondered if it was just you that he was ignoring, but no one seemed to have heard anything from him—his own family included. The only things that were running through your mind were terrible. All of your calls went unanswered, all of your texts went unopened. The letters that you sent didn’t get kicked back to you but you never got responses to any of them either. He had blipped off the radar seemingly without a trace and you had no idea why. You lost a lot of sleep over it but at the same time, life didn’t stop for anyone. You had to keep moving forward while a very large part of you was stuck in the past.
You were packing up your room, getting ready to move into your own apartment. You were throwing things from your closet into random bags and boxes—organization had never been your strong suit. As you were leafing through everything, pulling things down off the top shelf of your closet, you were smacked in the face with a stack of papers. You managed to catch them before they hit the ground, tears instantly springing into your eyes when you realized what they were. Your heart sped up inside your chest as you stood on your tip-toes, reaching for the very back of the shelf. The feeling of the plaster underneath your fingers sent a shock through your body as you pulled it towards you. Looking over it, you were bombarded with an onslaught of memories.
Packing fell by the wayside as you sat on your bed, reading through the letters and looking over all the artwork that was still holding up on the cast. How you managed to keep your tears from falling, you didn’t know.
There was a light knock on your door and you looked up, trying to make yourself look much less upset than you were. The smile immediately dropped from your mother’s face when she saw what you were doing, how it was upsetting you. She leaned against the doorframe as she tried to figure out what to say to you to try and make things better.
“I’m sorry, honey,” her tone was sincere.
You shook your head as you set your cast to the side, “Don’t be. You don’t have anything to be sorry for.”
“Do you want to talk about it?”
You hadn’t really spoken much to her about it all—there wasn’t a whole lot to say. You didn’t have any answers and with each day that went by it was less likely that you would ever get them. It was difficult to tell whether or not it was more reassuring for you that no one had heard from him, not just you.
“There’s nothing to talk about. He just fucking disappeared, I guess. I just need to accept it and get on with my life.”
“He was your best friend—you’re allowed to be upset about it, you know.”
Even though you knew it, it was nice to hear her say it to you. Wiping the tears from your eyes before they could stain your cheeks, you nodded, “I know.”
She lightly drummed her fingers on the door frame, “You keeping those?”
There was a long pause before you finally nodded, “I think so.”
She nodded, “I’ll go grab you another box.”
--
“This thing looks like it’s been through the wringer,” your tattoo artist chuckled as she looked over the cast you’d brought with you.
You managed a smile, “Because it has. I’ve had that thing since I was in, fucking, like eighth grade I think? Long time.”
“What made you decide to get this done now?”
You shrugged, “I don’t know. Figured it’ll be better than moving it from one closet to the next over the course of my life.”
You could tell by the look on her face, that she wanted to ask for the story behind it all. But the fact that you didn’t offer it up, made her not pry. You’d always been open so if you were keeping something to yourself, she respected that. The two of you talked about the logistics of it, and the changes you want to make to clean it up a little bit. You were excited to come back and get it done, though.
Despite the wait, your excitement and nervousness about coming back didn’t fade. You didn’t regret the decision, but it was still nerve-wracking as you got ready to sit down in the chair. She had you look over the pattern she’d drawn up, and when you gave her the okay she laid the stencil out on your arm and got to work. You watched her as she brought it all to life—it was a little cleaner and more grown-up than the original scribbles and doodles, but it felt right. Tears stung at the edges of your eyes but it wasn’t because of the physical pain of getting the tattoo.
She was wrapping it up in saranwrap as she gave you the run-down of taking care of the tattoo. You’d heard the spiel before but you still listened anyway. You had a hard time taking your eyes off of the artwork as you made your way back out to your car. Sitting down in the driver’s seat, you let out a sigh as you tried to inspect the ink as best you could through the wrap around your arm.
The next day, you were putting on a fresh wrap over your tattoo after your shower when you heard your phone buzzing in the next room. With a heavy sigh, you slapped a piece of tape onto the wrap and scrambled to get to your phone before you missed the call. Looking down at the screen, you didn’t recognize the number. But it was an off-hour for a scammer to be calling so you answered it on a whim. Worst case scenario you would just hang up.
“Hello?”
“Hi, my name is Rita and I work at Imperial Hospital. I’m looking for Ms. Y/N?”
“Um, speaking?” you had no idea where this was going.
“Good morning. Someone was admitted and you are their only emergency contact—no next of kin listed. Do you know a Mr. Nestor Oceteva?”
Your heart dropped into your stomach, “Yes,” you couldn’t get the words out fast enough, “Yes I do. Is he alright?”
“He’s going to be fine,” her tone was calm enough to give you the smallest sliver of reassurance, “But we do need you to come in and answer some questions for us. He’s been in and out of it and we need someone who can give us reliable information.”
“O-okay. Yea. Yea I’ll leave right now. It’ll be about an hour or so before I get there though. Is that alright? He’s going to be okay?”
“Yes, ma’am. He’s going to be fine. Thank you so much for your cooperation.”
You hung up the phone and started flying around your apartment to get ready. You had no idea what you were about to be walking into but at this point you didn’t care. All these years you’ve been wondering about him and he was two towns over. You were as angry as you were relieved.
The line of questions that the nurses asked you seemed endless. You knew that it was all important but there was nothing that you wanted more than to be in the room and see that it really was him, that this wasn’t just some cruel trick from the universe.
Finally, the nurse started walking you back. You only heard half of what she was saying to you about his condition as the two of you approached the room. You heard that he was stable and the rest didn’t really matter to you. your hands were trembling as she gestured to the door to his room, telling you that she would give you a few minutes to yourselves.
You slowly opened the door and a sob lodged itself in your throat as you looked at him. He was passed out, whether the sleep was genuine or from the meds you didn’t know. Truthfully, it was almost difficult to see that it was the Nestor you knew and loved—but you could still see it. Underneath the cuts and scrapes, beneath the braids and the tattoos, there was still your Nestor. The man you knew all those years ago was somewhere underneath it all.
Walking over, you collapsed in the chair next to his bed. You reached out and took his hand in your own, seeing the scars and scabs that covered his knuckles. Whatever he’d been doing all those years, it wasn’t treating him well. You let out a shaky breath as the tears started to fall. You tried to keep your emotions bottled up and quiet, but you couldn’t. There were too many there that you had been battling with and pushing down over the years.
Your crying made him stir. With a quiet groan of pain he opened his eyes and turned to look and see who was in the room with him. His entire body went stiff as his eyes flew completely open, unable to believe that you were sitting there with him.
“H-holy shit,” he coughed, trying to sit up, “Y/N?”
He was conscious and able to speak, so you punched him in the upper arm, “As soon as I can my ass, Nestor.”
He winced and smiled, and you could see all of the motions in his eyes, “I’m…I’m sorry.”
“You fucking should be.”
“I am.”
“Good.”
There were a few beats of silence and then he heard the crinkling of the wrap on your arm as you crossed them and he nodded towards it, “Fresh?”
Heat instantly flooded to your face and you fought the urge to get up and run out of the room, “Got it yesterday.”
“Can I see?”
You hated that he was talking to you like everything was normal, but you couldn’t lie and said that you didn’t miss it. Taking a deep breath, you laid your arm down on the hospital bed for him to inspect. A smile instantly took over his features when he saw what it was. He looked up at you, and when he saw the happiness and hurt both in your expression, his smile dulled a little bit.
“I’m so sorry.”
“What the fuck, Nestor?”
“I know, I know. I should’ve said something.”
“Uh…yea.”
“When they let me out of here, will you let me take you somewhere and tell you all about it?”
“I mean. I guess. But only because I’m nosey,” you managed a smile through the tears.
“I love you.”
The words made your heart skip a beat in your chest, “I love you too.”
“That’s way less clunky than a cast,” he tapped the plastic wrap.
You smiled, wiping the tears away, “Yea, I guess so.”
“I can’t believe you still have the same number after all these years.”
You paused, looking down at your hands, “I kept it in case your ass decided to smarten up and call me one of these days.”
“Hospital calling you on my behalf doesn’t count?”
You narrowed your eyes at him, “No. No it doesn’t.”
He reached over and clasped your hand in his, “I’m really glad that you’re here.”
With a deep sigh, you leaned forward and pressed a soft kiss to the side of his forehead, careful to miss all the scrapes, “Me too.”
There was so much more to be said, but it could wait. You tried to soak up the feeling of his hand over yours, smiles appearing on both of your faces despite the lost time and the gravity of the situation. A lot of things had changed, but as you felt the heat from his palm and the way his thumb traced back and forth over your hand, you knew the important things were still exactly the same.

The sun can fuck right off
Supercorp, Kara Danvers x Daughter!Reader, Lena Luthor x Daughter!Reader, Alex Danvers x Niece!Reader
Word count: 2795.
You are bored. Extremely, painfully bored. Kara and Lena are at work, Jamie is busy with Rao knows what, and Maya can’t come to your house, because her mom is the worst. So, you are bored with no idea what to do.
You also have been feeling like you need some adventures. It’s not like you got the taste for it, but every time you look at your picture with Wanda in another dimension, you just think about how great you felt protecting the world, and you just want that feeling again.
You’re not praying for trouble to come around, but when you hear a yell somewhere in the city, you also don’t complain about it. In fact, you suit up in a flash and you’re out of the house before any person can blink.
In retrospect, going out to fight bad guys without not even a heads up to your momma, or aunt Alex was a bad idea. You weren’t expecting a real villain, to be honest. Maybe some punks messing up with the city, or maybe even a fire, but definitely not a full grown-up man in a high-tech suit of armor, hitting the town with shockwaves.
You try flying closed-fist towards him at full speed, but are met with a strong shockwave before you get to him. You fall on the floor feeling a little dizzy, but you’re strong enough to get up. At least you called his attention, and he stopped terrorizing the city for a moment, to focus on you. You try flying again. You fall again. You try using your super speed, no use. Can’t get close to him without feeling an electric wave running through your veins.
Shit. Ok. Time to get serious. You shoot him with your heat vision. He is taken aback, but it doesn’t cause much damage to him, because he stomps his foot causing a mini earthquake. Not enough to destroy anything, but enough to be felt. You fly around cleaning the area for anyone who just might happen to be passing by. It wasn’t a big earthquake, but it was enough to get the DEO’s attention, and you hear when aunt Alex yells directions at the tactic team. You just have to hold him back, there is a team coming your way to help now.
Apparently, the only thing that can hold him back is your heat vision, so you try that again. Stronger. Totally focused on this one thing. You can feel heat running through your veins, like you’ve never felt before. You’ve never held your heat vision for so long and so strongly. But you know his armor is taking a big damage, so you power through. You can’t stop, not now, not when you’re so close to defeating him.
But you feel weak. You feel your legs giving in. And your body feels dry-up from energy. You hope his armor breaks before this breaks you.
When you hear DEO cars arriving at the scene, you give one final push, and hear a crack on his armor. That’s enough to make him fall on the ground and the tactic team runs to cuff him.
He isn’t the only one on the ground, though. You also feel weak, like you overused your powers. You can hear Alex’s voice somewhere close, so you know you’re safe and she’s got you. But you made the mistake of not calling Supergirl once and you’re not doing it again. Before you pass out, you press the emergency button on your watch. Just then you can let go.
You wake up, well-aware of where you are. How many times have you been in the DEO infirmary bed, under yellow sun lamps? It’s starting to look like a real thing in your life now.
“National City’ savior, everybody!” You hear your aunt's voice when you open your eyes. She comes closer with a smile on her face. “Why and how, and most importantly, Wow, kiddo.”
“Super hearing.” It’s your only response, and you look around, looking for your moms. “How badly hurt am I?”
“Not at all.” She holds your arm, and you sit on the bed, with her help. “What happened is that you got solar flared.”
“Huh?”
“You are aware your cells accumulate solar energy.” Alex says and you agree with a nod. “Well, let’s say they can soak up an absurd amount of energy, and every time you use your powers you use a little of that. It’s very hard to use ALL of that in one fight, but you just did.”
“Ok. Makes sense. So I have to soak up as much sunlight as I can?” You ask, aware that you probably need to stay out in the sun making ‘photosynthesis’ like you do, every time you get hurt.
“Yeah. That should work.” She pats your shoulder lightly, but you still feel the weight of her hands on your body. “Until then, you’re pretty much a human being. So be careful.”
“I pressed the watch.” You’re trying not to be too obvious about how upset you are that Kara didn’t show up, but Alex seems to read you easily.
“Oh, she brought you in, and went to pick Lena up, they should be arriving at any time now.” Alex says and you breathe in relief. What a superhero you are. Save the city, but still want your moms to pick you up from a fight.
“Is she ok?” Lena rushes in, talking to Alex, but then she turns to you and sees you sitting on the bed. “You’re ok.” She hugs you, and her hand goes to your hair. “You’re ok, baby. You’re ok.”
It feels so good to feel the weight of her arms around you, so you hug her back, hiding your face on her collarbone, and Lena’s hands just pull you in closer to her.
“Does anything hurt?” She asks, putting her chin on the top of your head, and you smile at the scene, at the feeling, and at the amazingness of the moment. You let go of her, and deny with your head. Kara comes to you, putting her hand on your shoulder.
“You called.” She says that with the biggest smile on her face, like you just did the most awesome thing in your life. “You stopped Shockwave all by yourself, and then you called me to go get you.”
“I did.” You smile back. “And I got solar flared, and I’m human now.”
“Oh, I once got solar flared too!” Kara raises her hand at you, and you guys high-five. “Being without your powers is not fun, but I’m so proud of you, little one! You have no idea!” It’s her time to hug you, and she does it a little too strong. You don’t complain though, is amazing that you can even feel it.
“Well, she is free to go.” Aunt Alex says, and you jump from the bed. It feels so weird. You’re feeling heavy, like Earth gravity finally caught up to you, and you feel like you weigh 200 pounds.
Sure you were once without your powers, but you couldn’t really enjoy this feeling of being human. Back then, you couldn’t really walk, because your leg was hurt, and when you did, you had a cast on. So this now, feels like being human for the first time since you were a little kid without powers.
You look at Kara with a smile on your face. “Race ya to the way out.”
And running you go, at a normal speed, and when you get there, you’re sweating and out of breath and feeling light-headed from the effort. You bend down, putting your hands on your thighs for support. Kara holds your arm, looking very worried.
“That was awesome!” You manage to say, while still trying to breathe and she laughs at you.
“You are aware that everyone in the DEO just saw you running like a freak on the corridors, right?” Kara asks, with a playful smile on her lips, and you open a big one to her.
“I know. But they all know I can take them down if I want to, so I don’t think they’ll say anything about it.” You finally stand up again, and open your arms to her. “I would like a ride home, please.”
“Sure thing, my little human.” Kara holds you, and fly home with you holding her tight. Feeling a little scared that you could fall and not be able to protect yourself. You feel a light rain starting to fall, and you look up with a smile. How great is this day?
Kara lands in the backyard, and you open your arms feeling the rain on your skin. She smiles, looking at you like you’re an alien who just now landed on Earth, and it’s experiencing things for the first time.
“Ok, go inside and get dry, and I’m going to pick up your mom before it starts raining harder.”
Kara leaves, but you don’t go inside. You’re so static that you were actually able to stop that villain -without help this time, may you add-, that the rain feels like a payment for it.
“Get inside, come on. Come on.” You hear Lena’s voice and you look behind you to see her with her suit jacket over her head. She comes to you, shielding you from the rain -like you’re not already completely soaked-, and walks with you inside from the backyard door. “Go take a shower and get out of those wet clothes before you come up with a cold.”
“A cold!” You say, like it’s the most exciting thing in the world. “Have I ever had a cold before? What is it like?”
“It’s no fun.” Lena looks at your excited face, and Rao, how well this woman can read you. It’s impressive. “Absolutely not! You are not getting a cold to feel how it is. Go take a hot shower now, and get yourself into warm clothes.” You pout at her. “I will throw you under the shower if I have to.”
“Fine.” The pouting is over at the sound of that. “I’m not getting a cold!”
But it seems that the universe has other plans for you.
“Come on, babygirl. School. Let’s go.” Lena opens the door in the morning. You try to open your eyes, but it feels incredibly hard to do so. You didn’t even wake up yet, and you can feel the most horrible headache.
“Mom. Don’t freak out.” Your voice comes out small and hoarse, and that’s all it takes for Lena to understand what’s going on.
“Please don’t tell me-” She comes closer, and you feel her hand on your forehead. “My God, you’re burning up.”
“I am?” You ask, pushing the blankets up your body. “Then why am I so cold?”
“Because you have a fever, babygirl.” Lena lets out a sigh, and you just wait until she says ‘I told you so’. But that never comes. “KARAAAA! GET THE TERMOMETER!”
It’s five seconds later when you see Kara showing up at your bedroom door. She gives it to Lena, who quickly takes your temperature and sighs at the number on the screen.
“You’ve got a high fever. What else are you feeling?” Lena asks, and you feel the mattress dipping next to you, and Kara coming closer.
“Headache. And for some reason my legs and arms hurt. Like-” You look at Kara, with wide eyes. “They actually hurt, you know?”
“Well, my love, that’s one of the symptoms.” Kara smiles fondly at you. She looks amazed at the fact that her daughter came up with a cold in the first place. “So, she’s not going to school today.”
“Absolutely not.” Lena says, picking up her cell phone from her pocket. “I’ll call the principal and let her know.” She looks back at you with a flat smile. “At least now we’ll prove to them that you’re an actual human being.”
“Yay!” You cough after such effort. “Silver lining.”
“I’ll go get something for you to eat.” She leaves the room and you look at Kara.
“I’m not hungry.” You think about it for a second and your eyes widen. “Momma! I’m not hungry! Am I dying?”
“Don’t even joke about it.” Kara throws her arms around you and gets comfortable next to you.
“Don’t you have work to attend to?” You ask, trying to do an eyebrow raise, but it hurts so badly you give up midway.
“Work?” She laughs like it’s the most absurd question you’ve ever asked her. You know it can’t be, because you once asked her how fast you had to run for your skin to warm up, like a spacecraft heats up when reentering the atmosphere and catches on fire -to which she replied a solid ‘huh?’-. “I can’t possibly go to work with you sick like this.”
“I’m not that sick. I have a common cold.”
“Shhh. They don’t need to know that.” Kara smiles, and takes her phone out of her pocket. She is typing and saying her message out loud, you know, like old peps do. “Can’t go in today. My daughter has come up with something and I have to stay in and watch her.”
You want to call her a liar, but you also want to thank her for staying with you. So instead, you settle for a smile, and for holding her hand. Lena walks in a while later with food in a tray for you.
“Ok, so I called your school and explained your absence, and I also called my assistant to let her know I’m not coming in today and-” She looks at Kara, already under the covers with you, and furrows her brows. “Don’t you have to go to work?”
Kara gives her a sheepish smile. “Guess we had the same idea.”
“Guess we did. Come on baby, let's get something inside you.” She helps you up, and you sit on your bed. You eat what she brought, and when you’re done, they help you lay back in bed. “Make space for me?”
Kara pulls you closer, and Lena lays on the other side of the bed, dropping her shoes on the floor with loud thuds.
“Rao, that hurts so much.” You wince at the sound, closing your eyes. “Can we all be very, very quiet?” You ask, and add a little later. “Oh, and in the dark?”
“Oh, my love, do you have a migraine too?” Lena whispers, kissing your forehead. “Kara, go get her a cloth, please.”
You barely feel the bed moving and Kara’s already laying down again. She blows a little of her freeze breath in it, and places it on your forehead. You also notice they had turned off the lights, and you doze back to sleep sandwiched between your moms.
You wake up much later. Kara is snoring next to you, arm over your body, making it impossible for you to move, and Lena is sitting on your desk, silently working in the dark. You smile at the scene.
“Mom.” You call her, and she stops what she is doing to go to you.
“Hey, babygirl. Listen, you have to drink lots of fluids to keep yourself hydrated.” Lena hands you a bottle of water. “How’s the migraine?”
“A little better?” You say, truthfully. She nods, putting her hand on your head to check for your fever.
“You’re sweaty. I think your fever is down. You should go take a shower.” Lena says and you just point at Kara’s arms and she knows exactly what you mean. “I always get trapped under her arms too. Let me just-” She scratches the back of Kara’s neck, and instantly her arms move and you’re free to go. “Here.” Lena gives you a hand and you sit on the bed with her help.
“I have to tell you something.” You whisper, still holding her hand. “I don’t really like the cold. You can say I told you so.”
Lena kisses your head, and lets out a chuckle. “I didn’t think you would, but I guess you had to see it for yourself. I’m glad you didn’t like it though; you’ll probably never catch it again.”
“I hope not.”
Despite absolutely hating the feeling of being sick, you look around and things are still pretty good in your life. When Kara wakes up, she wraps you up in blankets like a ‘sick burrito’, and moves you to the couch to watch your favorite movie with them. Sure, you’re surrounded with tissue papers, water bottles, and cold medicine. But you’re also surrounded with love. And that is the best thing you can wish for on a Wednesday afternoon.
Notes:
So it seems a lot of you wanted a sick fic. For this one I have to thank @beepbop122 for the solar flared idea for Superkid to get sick. Then @asiangmrchk13 asked for Supercorp taking care of her and a little bit of Alex in the middle. Also @youngjusticeimaginesus asked me for Superkid get a migraine and I think the basic idea was being cared by Kara and Lena, so I hope this works. And I threw in a fight scene for myself. I hope you all enjoy it, thank you so much!

Point Of View ~k.b.~
katsuki bakugou x gn!reader
warnings: fluff
synopsis: no one believes that katsuki is a good boyfriend until they see if for themselves AKA the three times people how sweet bakugou can be.
a/n: ah so i’ve neglected bnha quite a bit.. debated keeping this to myself but everyone needs a bit of soft and respectful bakugou. hope you enjoy :)
Tumblr media
You weren’t oblivious to the worry and concern in people’s eyes when you told them that Bakugou was your boyfriend. The two most infamous things said in response were: “You’re joking, right?” and “Are you okay? Does he get violent with you?”
It was quite frustrating to reassure people that being with him was okay. You know he's a good guy. Why does everyone assume that he’d be a shitty boyfriend? Why doesn’t Bakugou want other people to see the more tame side of him that he’d developed the past two years you’d been together?
Everyone learned to just take your word for it, though they’d never really seen him be affectionate with you. That’s why it was so shocking once they actually saw the true nature of your relationship with him.
1: Your Parents
“Bakugo!” your little sister yelled, running up to hold onto his leg.
His eyes widened as he looked down at her, confused as to where she came from. “Hey, Rugrat. What are you doing running around by yourself?”
“Mom and Dad are over there!” she points to a store in the distance and continues talking, “Are you here with my sibling?”
She stepped back, grabbing onto his extended hand as they walked towards your parents.
“Not right now. They’re here somewhere with their friends.”
“I thought you were their friend,” she pouted, “Are you guys not friends anymore?”
Bakugou sighed, “I’m a different kind of friend, Rugrat.”
“What do you mean?”
“Tenshi! There you are!” your mom says, rushing over to the two of them.
“She saw me and ran over. Sorry about that,” Bakugou awkwardly scratched the back of his head, feeling uncomfortable with the apology passing through his lips.
“She must really like you, then. She never does this with anyone,” you mom notes, slightly impressed that he won your sister over within a few short months.
He softly smiles, looking down at her, “I think we just understand each other.”
“You still haven’t told me what’s so different about you being friends with Y/N!” she points at him.
He squats down to chat with her, “It’s the kind of friend that gets to hang out with a cool kid like you in their free time.”
“That’s the best!” she exclaims.
Bakugou’s phone buzzes, and he pulls it out to see a text from you that asked where he was. “I have to go, but I’ll see you at your birthday party.”
“Promise?” She sticks out her pinky.
“Promise.”
He clasps his pinky who hers quickly before getting up and saying a quick goodbye to your mother and rushing off.
Tenshi grabbed your mother’s hand as they watched him.
You came into view with a few bags on your arms and he immediately took them from you despite your apparent protest and gave you a quick kiss before walking in the opposite direction.
Your mother realized that she may have had the wrong idea about Bakugo this entire time.
2: Class 1-A
“How are you not sore from weight training yesterday?” you whine as you both walk towards the classroom.
“I train all the time. You just aren’t used to it,” he smirks, nudging you slightly with his arm.
“Whatever. You didn’t even go easy on me, a beginner.”
“I’ve never gone easy on you. Why would I start now?”
“Fair point,” you shrug as you walk through the classroom door and all eyes immediately fall on the two of you.
“There’s the cutest couple in school!” Mina exclaims.
You both look at her bewildered by her statement.
“I didn’t know Bakugou actually had a heart,” Iida muttered, looking at something on Kirishima’s desk.
“What did you do?” Bakugou whispers with a hint of agitation in his voice.
“I didn’t do anything. I have no clue what they’re talking about!”
“Kirishima saw you guys at the New Year’s Festival. He took a really cute picture of you guys!” Kaminari explained, walking over to show you both the picture on his phone.
You both looked at it to see your little sister, Tenshi, on his shoulders with a smile on her face as she pointed at one of the booths. Bakugo had one hand keeping her stable on his shoulder and the other was laced with yours. He had a large smile on his face as if he was laughing at something you said.
“What were you guys talking about?” Mina asks.
“None of your fucking business,” Bakugou grumbled, pushing past all of them to his seat with you in tow as he continued, “If you ask us another question, I will kill all of you.”
“Bakubro, they wouldn’t let you kill us even if you wanted to,” Kirishima laughed.
“You even gave them your jacket!” Sero exclaimed, “I remember when you tried to fight me for even trying to borrow a blanket when we were in your room!”
“He can’t let his precious girl get cold,” Kaminari sang.
Bakugou grumbled, crossing his arms as he sat down, knowing that anything he said would only fuel the fire.
3: His Parents
“Holy shit!” you exclaimed as your umbrella bent backwards, officially breaking after three long years of service.
The rain didn’t even have a chance to touch your body before Bakugo quietly handed his umbrella over to you, taking the broken one from you. “Don’t need you catching a cold.”
As soon as you took it from him, he took his jacket off and wrapped it around your backpack. He forced your broken one closed and held onto it to throw away later.
“Katsuki, you’re going to get soaked,” you tried to argue.
“I’ll be fine. My backpack is waterproof.”
“At least get under the umbrella. What if you catch a cold?”
“It isn’t big enough to even cover your backpack, dumbass. I’ll be fine. I haven’t gotten sick in years.”
“I’ll just put my hood on until we get to your house and then walk home from there with the umbrella.”
“Not happening, I’m taking you home. I can’t let you walk by yourself.”
Thirty minutes later, Bakugou walked through the door absolutely soaked from head to toe with two broken umbrellas in his hand and his jacket wrapped around his waist..
He let out a huge sigh as he dropped his backpack and took off his shoes.
“Katsuki, I need-” Mitsuki’s eyes widened as she looked at him.”Go get out of those clothes and take a shower! You’re going to catch a cold in those if you stay in them any longer!”
“You don’t have to yell, you old hag!” he snapped as he walked to the bathroom.
After he showered and put on some warmer clothes, he was met with the curious eyes of his mother and father as he took his towels and clothes to the washing machine.
“What?” he questioned, pausing on his way.
“You had two broken umbrellas and were absolutely soaked. What happened?”
“Y/N’s umbrella broke, so I gave them mine. It’s too small to do anything but cover their body, so I wrapped my jacket around their backpack so their stuff didn’t get wet. I was soaked by the time we got to their house, so there was no point in putting my jacket back on, but I promised them that I’d use the umbrella on the way back and it broke from the wind.”
Their jaws dropped.
“Stop looking at me like that,” he grumbled and justified himself, “I didn’t want them getting sick. They don't take good care of themself when they feel bad. Can I go to my room?”
“Yeah, yeah. We’ll let you know when dinner’s ready,” Masaru said.
Katsuki walks off without another word.
The next morning, Mitsuki was yelling at Katsuki to get up from the other side of the house, but she wasn’t getting the usual response back.
She paused outside his door when he heard the low murmur of his voice as if he was on the phone and slowly cracked the door open.
“Do you want me to come over?” she heard you ask.
“No, I can’t take care of you and me. If you catch my cold, you won’t eat like you’re supposed to. I swear you’re like an annoying little child when you’re sick.”
“Always so mean,” you laugh, “I can take care of myself, Katsuki.”
“I know you can, but I want to take care of you, so shut up,” he coughed, “And don’t hang up on me until you are inside of the school safe!”
“I feel so bad. You got sick because of me.”
“Well, make it up to me by kicking ass in class today, okay?”
“Don’t I always?” you tease, causing him to softly laugh.
Mitsuki smiled to herself as she quietly closed the door, hoping that you’d be in her son’s life forever.

She’s just a friend
summary: you and Ransom decided to try that friends with benefits thing
Tumblr media
pairing: Ransom Drysdale x reader
word count: 1947
warnings: explicit language, mentions of sex, but no actual smut, little angst
A/n: please do not copy, rewrite, translate or post my work anywhere. No permission given to copy, translate, rewrite or post my work.
———————————————————————
It was 3:15 a.m. when you opened your eyes. Ransom was lying next to you with his arm around you waist. You took a deep breath and tried to put out of his embrace, but he only held you closer. You should’ve not stay through the night and leave by the end of your fourth and last round.
Yeah, sex with Hugh Ransom was good, even more it was absolutely fantastic. You always thought about how maybe he ruined you for other partners. This man was so ridiculously good in it. What you also thought about was how maybe you should’ve known better and never agree for that friends with benefits thing. In your defense you really needed an emotional discharging and he’s always lookin’ so fucking sexy, so you just gave up, when he so casually asked you about it after a couple glasses of whiskey few months ago.
But now god knows how much you regret it because you fell and fell hard for that “asshole”. Well, actually he’s not that bad it’s more about how he wants other to see him. And they do. They all believe in it, his image of arrogant cold hearted jerk. Ransom is a jerk in fact, but sometimes you see things that others don’t. You see a broken boy who tries to cover his vulnerabilities by venom observations and jackass demeanor.
Of course you tried to talk to him about it, talk about what he went through, but it usually never worked out. Though one time after another family event you saw something in his eyes, a speck of sorrow and you let yourself to hope that this is the moment when he’d finally open up. It also was the moment when you knew how much you loved him.
But as soon as this thought slipped through your head, Ransom changed in face, as if he read your mind and he didn’t like what he saw. He stand out from the nice and warm bed and headed for the kitchen saying you should probably go home. He didn’t come back to the bedroom and soon you left his apartment with tears on your face.
You had nothing to blame him for. It was pretty clear from the start that he didn’t want anything serious from you or from anyone else. Ransom said he didn’t believe in such things like love and relationships but good fuck was something he believed very much.
So were you. At least for the first couple of months.
But then you did the stupidest thing you could ever do...you let yourself hope for more. You’ve started to notice his lovely glances from across the room and the way he always try to hold you whenever other guys where approaching you like he was marking you as his. How he was laughing at your stupid jokes and watched your favorite sitcoms with you.
It was three weeks later when you came to the local bar with your coworkers to relax on friday night after a hard week and spotted him flirting with some pretty girl at the table. You remembered her, she was the girl who takes care of his grandfather. Ransom was in white sweater that you gave him this christmas and the girl in cute little dress, well, she was really gorgeous one with big puppy eyes and the sweetest smile you’ve ever seen. You knew you can’t compete.
He didn’t even notice you there and even if he did what’s the matter. He’d probably just say hello and walk away. You tried to calm yourself down and stop being so jealous, because you have no rights for it, but still it was breaking your heart.
The next day when you came to his apartment to take some of your things, you heard something you wish you’d never heard.Ransom was talking on phone when you walked in.
-“Yeah, man, you know she’s just a friend to me...yeah, I know-I know but hey you know i’ll never settle down for anyone...ahahahah...yes, even for Megan Fox”-Ransom laughed and you left as fast as you can.
And you were just a friend indeed and nothing more. You felt like you was the biggest fool on earth for believing that you really had a chance with someone like him.
You crying all way home and when you finally get there, you thought about how you going to end everything with goddamn Ransom, because of how much pain it caused you too be so close with him yet so far.
However now you laying in bed with the same man that you promised you’d never sleep again with, while he’s holding you close to his chest. Yeah, sometimes things doesn’t work the way you want them to.
You look at his peaceful beautiful face and wonder how would it feel to be loved by this man. To spend your life by his side.
“Well”- you think to yourself - “I guess we’ll never know”. And with that you slowly remove the blanket and get up from the bed careful enough to not wake Ransom up.
You stand a little bit too long in front of the front door and hesitate to leave, cause you know that this was probably the last night with him. When you get in the car you finally feel how hot your tears are and how heavy is this weight of unrequited love on your chest.
~
Days go by and you slowly started to live without him. You told your roommate Sarah never let him in again and blocked his number. You thought that maybe you doing something wrong and maybe you should’ve been happy with what you had. But then again you remembered that you’d never be more than a fuck buddy to him and he made himself pretty clear saying this to some of his friends just a couple of days ago.
“It’s time to move on”-you were thinking as you walked into some fancy restaurant for set up date that was arranged by Sarah. She said he’s very sweet and a doctor, so why don’t try it? Maybe this guy Mark is all you’ve dreamed for?
The guy is the complete opposite of Ransom. He’s not that tall, but very nice and lovely. He also have a pretty blonde curls and dark brown eyes that mean nothing to you, cause they’re not as deep as Ransom’s. You really try to enjoy the date, but all you can think about is how the man in front of you is not Ransom.
-“So what’s the guy’s name?”-Mark said.
-“What do you mean?”-you said with confused look-“What guy?”
-“The one you want to see on this chair instead of me”- he said with weak smile and understanding look- “Sarah told me about you wanting to move on and forget about «the jerk», but now i see you everything but ready to move on, so please tell me about it and maybe i’ll can help”
You gasped and thought about how your friend didn’t lie about Mark being kind and maybe a little too much kind to you.
-“Listen, I don’t think it’s a good idea to discuss it right know, cause...”- you started, but get interrupted by Mark.
-“No, Y/N, I obviously can see that you not mentally here right now and that’s okay, it took me a long time to recover from my previous relationship too so i don’t wanna push you into something, you know. We can just have dinner like a good old friends and talk about our ex’s”-he smiled-“So feel free to start”
-“Okay”-you said still trying to proceed what he just said-“Well, i don’t wanna say his name and he wasn’t even my boyfriend. We just had sex with no strings attached”
-“But you get attached?”-he asked with a sad smile.
-“Yeah, and now i’m fucked”-you replied.
-“What did he say ‘bout your feelings?”-Mark asked as he sipped his wine.
-“Oh, no. I didn’t tell him about my feelings”-you said with sad eyes and tired smile-“I didn’t lost my mind completely to say to Ransom Drysdale that i love him with my whole heart and probably will never be able to not”
-“You love me?”-you heard a familiar voice behind you back and wished you could’ve just disappear.
-“I think I should go”-Mark said and hurried for the exit with a small smirk.
When you turn around you saw Ransom.
He looked worse than the last time you saw him. He looked tired and his beautiful blue eyes were full of so many things, that it confused you so much that you didn't know what to say.
-”Please, Y/N, tell me”-he said-“You love me?”-he looked so broken inside and desperate for my answer.
-“I...”-you hesitated for moment, but then decided to risk it all-“Of course i love you, Ransom, how can i not?”
-“Then why you left me?”-he said with pain in his eyes-“Left me in a middle of the night? Left me when i thought you are the one who’ll never do that.”
-“Because you didn’t”-you said with a small whimper feeling the weight on your chest again-“You didn’t loved me”
-“I did”- he said and finally you saw how red his eyes were-“And i do now”
-“Then why you didn’t tell me that? How was i supposed to know that when you started to close off every time i tried to bring something about feelings up?”-you said with a bitter feeling on you tongue.
“It was hard for me, okay? I’ve never told this to anyone before”-he said as his cheeks grew red-“Even to my mom when i was a child. I didn’t have a family when you can easily say such words”-Ransom took a deep breath before he could continue-“And then i met you and i liked you obviously. You became the light of my life. All those years I was living in a blur and never truly seeing things the way they where. I was a fool, because every time i was so afraid to ruin what we had, i wasn’t sure that you could ever feel the same. Y/N, i’m not a good guy and i’ve done a lot of bad things, but you were the only right thing in my life and i was afraid to admit it..”
You didn’t let him finish as you land your lips over his in a most gentle kiss you’ve ever had. You felt him smiling through the kiss as he was grabbing you closer and pulling you into another and more intimate kiss.
-“Is that mean i have a second chance?”-he said with a hopeful smile between the kisses.
-“No”-you said furrowing your brows only to meet his confused gaze-“Just kidding, of course you have, i don’t wanna lose you again”-you chuckled as you put your arms on his chest and looked into his ocean eyes, thinking that maybe you are the lucky one and you will be able to find out what it is like to be loved by Ransom Drysdale.

Note
i wish you'd write a fic where mickey reluctantly goes on a picnic with ian (maybe with their baby girl and dog?)
This is a great excuse for a little more of my new headcanon where they pick up a couple strays. I have to apologize, though, because this is probably not as fluffy as you imagined—there’s a pretty heavy backstory that’s hinted at. I tried to add some cute things too, though!
For the curious, first mention of their oldest daughter Brit (Mickey calls her Brat) here and of the dog, Basil, here.
---
“You want to go on a what?” Mickey asks incredulously as his husband putters around their small kitchen, putting together sandwiches.
“A picnic, Mick,” Ian replies, his head currently stuck inside the open fridge. He pops out long enough to give Mickey a look. “And don’t act surprised, I told you yesterday.”
Mickey holds out his arms, palms up. “Do I look like I knew this was comin’?” He moves out of the way as Ian closes the fridge and rounds the counter, lunchmeat in hand. “I didn’t know you were serious, man!”
Ian sighs, laying ham on bread and reaching for a knife to spread the mustard. “What’s the problem, huh?” he asks. “You don’t want to have a nice day with us?”
“Hey, don’t you do that,” Mickey commanded, pointing a finger at him. “Excuse me if I don’t want to take a toddler and fucking dog to a damn tourist trap.”
Ian rolls his eyes as he finishes the sandwiches, setting them neatly in a piece of tupperware that Mickey doesn’t remember owning. “It’s not a tourist trap, Mick,” he says patiently, “it’s a park. And your daughter wants to go.”
Mickey scoffs, trying not to soften too noticeably. Ian knew he always gave in when he used the d word. “Yeah, she wants to go cause someone showed her a bunch of pictures yesterday.”
“I was trying to keep her occupied, Mick,” Ian says for what feels like the millionth time. “She just saw her mom in the hospital, she needed a distraction.”
“That bitch has never been her mom,” Mickey starts to respond, and Ian glares at him.
“Told you not to say that shit,” he says lowly, casting his eyes around for their daughter. “She doesn’t need to hear it.”
“Relax, she’s in her room,” Mickey tells him, but he stops anyway. Well, stops the name-calling, at least. “But you know I didn’t agree to lie to her, Ian, that’s all your brilliant idea.”
Returning to the fridge to grab a few cold pops, Ian blows out a breath. “And I told you, we’re not lying. We’re just…,” he stands there for a second with the door open, considering, before finishing with, “we’re just holding back a bit until she’s older.”
Mickey’s mouth is twisted, but when Ian comes closer to put a hand against his face, it relaxes. “Just for a little bit, Mickey, ok?” Ian asks softly. “Just let her think she’s a normal kid for a little longer. Longer than we got to.”
And fine, Mickey could do that. He nods.
Ian smiles, pecks him on the lips and pulls away. “Good,” he says. “I’ll go get Brit, you get Basil, and we’ll get on our way in a few minutes.”
Mickey stands still in the corner of the kitchen for a long moment, listening to his husband call out for their kid. “We’re goin’ on a picnic,” he mutters to himself. “With a kid and fucking dog. How the hell did I end up here?”
He whistles, hears the patter of small paws against tile as said dog comes careening around the corner from the living room. Basil comes to a sudden stop against Mickey’s legs and drops his rear to the floor with a thump, tail whipping rhythmically against the wooden counter. Mickey sighs as he grabs the leash off the hook on the wall behind him and bends down to attach it to the dog’s bright red collar.
“At least you’re not wearing a fucking sweater,” he tells Basil solemnly, and sputters when Basil rewards him with a lick across the face.
They’re almost there on the L, Brit clinging to Ian’s leg on the crowded train and Mickey trying not to let on that he has a 40 lb dog hidden in giant fucking tote bag between his feet. Thankfully, Basil is great at playing dead—Mickey taught him that one himself—so the biggest difficulty will be carrying him out without getting a hernia.
The kid tugs at Mickey’s pant leg as the train rounds a corner, and he looks down to see her grinning up at him through wisps of dark hair that escaped her messy pigtails.
“Are we goin’ to see the baby?” she asks excitedly, lisping a bit as her tongue hits the space where her front teeth used to be.
“Uh,” he says, looking to Ian for guidance. Ian is pretending not to listen, though, the bastard. He looks back down into his daughter’s dark eyes.
“Not today, Brat,” he tells her, and keeps going before she can pout. “We told you it’s gonna be a while, yeah? Your sister’s not done bakin’ yet.”
“Like a cake!” she exclaims. Mickey sees a little old woman smiling at them, and wonders if she’d think it was so cute if she knew half the story.
“Yeah, like a cake, kid,” he agrees.
“But where are we goin’?” she asks next.
Mickey absently tucks a longer strand of loose hair behind her ear, and answers, “Remember that place your dad was showin’ ya the other day?”
She gives a delighted gasp just as the announcement is made for Lake Station, and when she sees him bend to hoist up the bag they’ve hidden Basil in, she dashes for the now-open doors.
“Hey, wait!” he calls after her, but Ian beats him to the door with his long, unburdened stride, catching up to her quickly and leaving Mickey to deal with everything else.
Mickey looks down into the open tote, and Basil blinks an eye open to look back from where he’s curled around the container holding their lunch.
“Typical,” Mickey mutters, and hobbles off the train in pursuit.
Thankfully, the kid was more interested in seeing the gardens and the lakefront than any of the crowded, no-dogs-allowed areas, so after a few quick pics of her fooling around in front of the Bean, they get settled in with minimal fanfare toward the center of the park.
Mickey is leaning back on his elbows on the ratty blanket they brought, picking at his sandwich and watching his little girl run wild over the grass as Ian and Basil chase her, their own meals half-eaten and forgotten beside him. He watches as Ian catches her, the two of them falling to the ground in a tangle of limbs as Basil’s leash wraps around them, the dog running circles around his humans. Mickey laughs when Ian tries to stand and promptly falls back over, having to stop and free his damn giraffe legs from the leash before he tries again.
Ian kisses their daughter on the head and hands the dog off to her as he gets up, heading back toward Mickey. There’s no need to worry about whether she can handle it—Basil may weigh almost the same as her, but the dog had always been careful with her since she came to stay with them more than a year ago.
“This isn’t so bad, is it?” Ian asks softly as he approaches. He collapses onto the blanket next to Mickey, just close enough to press their legs together. He lets a hand rest between them, and Mickey shifts his weight off one elbow so he can take it, twining their fingers together. His eyes are on their children, the human and the furred, but he can see Ian smile from the corner of his eye.
“Nah,” he murmurs quietly. “Guess not.”
Ian leans in and presses a kiss to the side of his neck, then to his cheek. “Just think,” he whispers into Mickey’s ear, “in a few months we’ll have another one.”
Mickey can’t help but snort. “Yeah, if we can keep her incubator from runnin’ off and overdosing again before then.”
Ian nudges him with his knee, and Mickey looks over with a raised eyebrow. “Hey, I didn’t call her a bitch this time,” he points out, and Ian rolls his eyes.
“It’s progress, I guess,” he relents, settling more firmly into Mickey’s side. They sit together, holding hands, and watch Brit and Basil play under the bright noon sun.
“I want to come back once she’s here,” Ian mentions. “The new baby." He turns his gaze to Mickey, eyes soft. "All of us together, as a family.”
“Fuck no,” Mickey vetoes immediately. “You want to do all this with a noisy infant in a shit-filled diaper, you get to do it yourself.”
“We’ll talk about it later,” Ian responds, and Mickey groans.
Because he knows if Ian wants it, he’ll be dragging a 40 lb dog, a hyperactive child, and a newborn around the damn park before he can even threaten divorce.
But as he watches his daughter walk their dog on the green grass, his husband reclining beside him on a soft blanket, the sun shining down on him, he thinks about adding a baby carrier to the picture, just there next to Ian. And he has to admit that it might not be too bad.

[Analogical] Closest to Heaven
DAY TWO @analogicalweek
Prompt: Stars
Read on A03.
Warnings: Angst, Minor Character Death mention, Grief. (Don’t worry though! Super happy ending!)
———————————————–
Virgil ran out of the house through the back door, the arguing echoing even as he slammed the door shut. He wasn’t afraid of his parents. They weren’t scary or mean or anything like that… to him.
 But to each other…
He used the sleeves of his hoodie to wipe away the stress tears that stubbornly continued to fall. He ran and kept running through the streets until he found a park where the lights weren’t as bright and trees framed the open expanse.
He sighed, catching his breath before trudging through the grass.
Virgil knew he should go home. At some point his parents would be looking for him.
 But something caught his attention.
He wasn’t sure what it was at first but it had definitely been skyward and so he turned his six year old face to the sky and his jaw dropped.
At six, he had definitely seen stars before. But the dimmer lighting meant less lights masking the stars and here, in this park, it seemed there were millions of them. He remembered his best friend telling him that once. That there were millions of stars but most of the time they just couldn’t be seen.
He had never, ever seen them like this.
 So clear, so bright.
 So.
 Many.
He stared up in awe at the vast number and before he could stop himself, Virgil laid out on the grass and continued to stare skyward.
I’d give up forever to touch you,
Cause I know that you feel me somehow.
You’re the closest to heaven that I’ll ever be,
And I don’t want to go home right now.
Virgil fell asleep there on the grass waking a little later as his mother’s voice startled him and, with one last glance at the sky, ran back to her.
“Mom… Mom, I saw stars! So many stars!”
“That’s nice, Virgil, but don’t you ever run out like that again. You scared me. Now, let’s get you home. It’s cold out here.”
Virgil glanced back at the stars, dim now that he was in a more brightly lit area, but for a moment he was certain that one star in particular shone just a little bit brighter, almost sparkling at him.
 “Mom.. what are stars?”
“Hmm?” She asked, taking his hand.
 “Stars… what are they?”
She glanced at the stars and smiled down at Virgil.
“Well… some people say they are burning gas but I like to think they are guardian angels… keeping us safe.”
Virgil gasped looking back at the shiny star he had found and smiling.
 »»———— ☠ ————««
Virgil sighed as he made his way toward the park. He had been going to this park when he needed space ever since he was a kid. Unfortunately, it had been cleaned up some so more people frequented it which left Virgil annoyed.
It’s not your park. You can’t keep people from being here.
He was just grateful that the city hadn’t thought to put in more lights. There had been plenty of petitions but the city had far bigger issues it needed the funding for at the moment.
Unfortunately, that also meant a lot of other teens came to this specific park when on dates to make out and cuddle. Making a face, Virgil rolled his eyes as he passed one such couple on his way to his favorite spot.
He was so happy that no matter when he came, his spot was never touched. He wasn’t sure how it was possible, as it was a prime spot for couples, but no matter what, it was always there.
Virgil had nearly reached it when a couple of teens came his way and started to sneer in his direction.
 “Hey, faggot!” They called.
“Wanna suck my dick, pretty boy?”
“Hey, Emo! Doesn’t look like you’ve managed to kill yourself yet. Why don’t I choke you with my big cock?”
Virgil hissed lowly and turned toward the three.
“You couldn’t handle me, fucktards. But sure, come get a kiss.”
They recoiled at that and quickly ran off, calling him a freak and using other names he was used to hearing at this point. Honestly, he didn’t get it. It wasn’t like when his parents were kids. Why did so many people still have an issue with gay people?
If it wasn’t being gay or goth, they’d just find something else to torment you about, he told himself, sighing.
He kept watching them to make sure they weren’t coming back before continuing on. Reaching the spot, Virgil laid out his favorite purple-and-black plaid blanket. Laying out on it, he sighed as he was immersed in a relaxing feeling.
Putting his arms behind his neck, Virgil looked skyward and smiled, his eyes instantly finding his favorite star. He wasn’t sure how but it had seemed to grow brighter over the years. Tonight it was especially bright and, for a moment, Virgil allowed himself to believe that it was happy to see him.
A giggle caught his attention and he glanced over to see a couple holding each other and such intense emotions in their locked gazes that he could feel from where he was.
A groan escaped him and he looked skyward once more. As soon as his eyes met the star once more, it seemed to twinkle in and out for a few seconds. Virgil felt warmth and comfort.
Yes, if he just focused on the star—his star—everything would be just fine.
 “I wish you were here… you’d make this… life... all more… bearable.”
And all I can taste is this moment
And all I can breathe is your life
And sooner or later, it's over
I just don't wanna miss you tonight
Virgil woke at some point after midnight. Swearing, he hurried to get up, knowing his mom would be worrying. Once he had his stuff gathered, he looked up at the sky once more, smiling.
 »»———— ☠ ————««
Virgil sighed shakily as he pulled the knot of the tie, loosening it. It still felt like a noose around his neck so he took it off completely, tossing it to the ground as he kept walking.
He reached his spot… the same spot he had been returning to for most of his life. Unfortunately, this was the first day he had been here that he no longer had the one person in the world he cared for.
“Why did you let this happen?” he growled up at the sky, the angry look in his dark eyes seeming to burn at the star.
For a moment, it seemed like the star grew dimmer. Almost as if in response to Virgil’s words. He didn’t know why, but it put a sour taste in his mouth and made his insides drop.
“You… you’re right…” he said, not sure why he was talking to the star. “You… it’s not your fault… but… my mom… she’s gone.”
And you can't fight the tears that ain't coming
Or the moment of truth in your lies
When everything feels like the movies
Yeah, you bleed just to know, you're alive
Virgil suddenly fell to the ground, sobbing as he gripped into the earth beneath his hands. It grounded him and he looked up to see the star shining even more brightly, flickering every few seconds as if it was trying to say something.
 “I don’t know what you’re saying… I don’t know what you want… maybe I’m crazy and this is selfish… but I want you here… or I want to be where you are…”
He laughed at himself, bringing a hand up to his eyes to wipe angrily at the still flowing tears.
 “This is a mistake… I… I don’t think I can keep coming… I’m… I’m sorry… thank you for always being there for me… I won’t forget you.”
 »»———— ☠ ————««
Virgil sighed shakily as he took one step onto the sweeping grass of the park. He bit his lip and took another step.
 You are being ridiculous, V.
Pushing past his nerves—there was no reason to be nervous—Virgil strode with purpose past the larger lawn area in favor of returning to the spot that had gotten him through his childhood.
Reaching it now, Virgil smiled fondly.
He saw ghosts of his past. A little kid seeking security. A teenager seeking first love. A new adult seeking comfort.
Here he was once again… though this time it had been so much longer since he had been back.
 Ten whole years, in fact.
Now a man of 31 and successful in life—he had gone to school to become a programmer, not that either mattered to him much.
Just like he had earlier in life, he sought more.
He yearned for a part of him that hadn’t been found. A part that could only be found in another soul.
Virgil didn’t believe in soulmates or anything like that. Still, he did believe—for himself, at least—that to be truly complete, he needed that special someone to share his life with.
Otherwise, what was it all for?
Sure, he was comfortable and healthy and relatively happy. None of that was the problem.
If he never found someone to share life with, he would be just fine.
But that wasn’t what he wanted.
And in searching for that, it had brought Virgil back to this special and sacred place. Sure, calling it sacred sounded a little dramatic, especially to him, but the feeling was there, just the same.
This place was sacred… to him.
 That was all that mattered.
Allowing a little eyeroll and a smirk at his dramatics, Virgil allowed his eyes to finally move skyward.
For a moment, Virgil couldn’t find it. His heart beat rose and he felt a rush of dread but then his gaze caught it.
The star was a lot dimmer than he remembered but it was the right star. His star. He was sure of it.
At first, he felt a little silly. He almost didn’t want to speak but something urged him to, deep inside.
He told himself that if he was ever going to find what he needed, he had to make amends. Even if now he knew the star was just burning gas, it didn’t matter.
He needed to do this. He had to see it through.
 “Hey… star… um… it’s Virgil.”
 God, I feel so stupid.
He pushed past the embarrassment and insecurities and went on.
“I… I owe you an apology.”
He didn’t know why but the star seemed to brighten. He knew it was probably just a trick of the mind but it made him feel better. He hesitated before moving to sit on the ground. Pulling his legs up to him slightly and resting the weight of his upper body on his hands, he leaned back to look at the star.
For a moment, he just sat in silence.
And I don't want the world to see me
'Cause I don't think that they'd understand
“Look… I’m not sure what to even say and I know you’re not actually some being that can magically hear me or whatever but I still need to say this…” If I’m to ever move on… he finished in his head, too embarrassed to even think it.
When everything's made to be broken
I just want you to know who I am.
 “I just… I want to thank you for everything you’ve done for me… everything you are to me… just… thank you. When mom died… I… I blamed you and that wasn’t fair… it wasn’t your fault… it’s just… life’s a dick… but yeah… thank you… for always being there…”
The star seemed to flicker and Virgil couldn’t help but beam up at it. It was almost as if ten years hadn’t come and gone.
He shifted to lay on the ground, his hands behind his head like he used to do as a kid. He sighed and let the comfort and nostalgia blanket him in warmth. He felt safe. He felt hope.
Virgil felt in that moment that anything was possible.
I just want you to know who I am.
“I wish… I wish you could be… a person… like me. An actual human I could hold and touch. Someone I could love for who and what they are, that could love me for who and what I am…”
He laughed softly, shaking his head, glancing away.
I just want you to know who I am.
 “Silly, right?”
He snorted, looking up as if sharing an inside joke with the star. For a brief moment, he thought he was seeing things.
 His star was gone.
At first he thought he had just misplaced it… or had looked in the wrong place. But no, he knew that star like he knew himself and that included where in the sky it resided.
 “What the fuck?”
Virgil got up quickly, staring up at the sky. He then squinted as if that would help him.
 “V-Virgil?”
Virgil spun on his heels and stared as a very attractive man dressed in slim fit slacks, a navy button down shirt patterned with stars, and rectangular metal framed glasses seemed to glide across the distance between them.
Virgil felt torn. His first instinct was to challenge the trespasser. He could be a serial killer or something. That feeling, however, was in complete contrast to the overwhelming feeling of familiarity
Had he gone to school with this guy or something?
No… I’d never have forgotten someone who looks like him.
That was true too. Virgil, being gay, found men attractive… that’s how it worked. But he had never been so attracted to anyone as he was to this man.
“I don’t know what your game is but uh… I’m not really in a mood to talk… you’re kinda interrupting my er… quiet time…”
The man tilted his head, looking confused. He then continued his walk toward him until he was standing a few feet away.
The feeling of familiarity tripled and he narrowed his eyes slightly.
“Did we go to school together or something? I swear I know you but I’ve never seen you before in my life… how’d you know my name? Please don’t be a stalker or something.”
Again, the man looked confused and also a little concerned. Then something seemed to click with him as his eyes brightened and he smiled.
“Oh… you don’t recognize me in this form.”
 Virgil’s eyes widened.
Of course Mr. Perfect was clinically insane.
He sighed but before he could say anything, the man had closed the distance between them. Virgil jumped back.
 “Personal bubble, dude!”
The man looked sad and Virgil felt a rush of guilt before remembering the guy was the one acting strange.
“I apologize… you had just asked me so many times to hold you… I’m afraid I just assumed…”
Virgil’s eyes widened at that. He quickly looked up at the spot where his star should be. It was as empty as it had been when he first noticed…
When this man had first shown up.
 But that was impossible.
 Stars didn’t just become people.
 “I’m going crazy or I’ve died…”
The man gave him a concerned look.
“I can assure you that you are not dead, Virgil. I also wish you to understand… I did this…” He gestured at his body and bit his lip. “I did this for you.”
“Oh my fucking God… you are crazy. Stars don’t become people, dude! It doesn’t happen! Stars are gas! Not sentient beings!”
The man laughed softly and Virgil swore there was an almost twinkling sound to it. Not really what normal laughs sounded like. The man, he realized, also kind of glowed. It was so subtle though that he doubted anyone but him would notice.
Still, it couldn’t be… it was impossible.
 Wasn’t it?
He slowly moved closer, hoping it wouldn’t bite him in the ass. He’d allow himself a little silliness… if it meant that this was real.
Could it really be? Is there any fucking way?
“I’ve wanted this for so long…” The man said now, just standing there and letting Virgil inspect him. He bit his lip, as if nervous. Could stars feel nervousness?
 Well… he’s… he’s human now…
He held the other’s gaze. His eyes were brown but almost golden. There was such warmth and comfort there. Slowly, Virgil’s eyes widened.
 “It is you!”
Ignoring the fact that this whole situation was feeling a bit too much like a Disney movie, Virgil threw his arms around the man.
 “You’re here… you’re actually here… I can’t believe it… I don’t even give a fuck that it should be impossible… you… you came to me…”
Virgil looked up, ignoring the way happy tears streamed down his face. The main raised a hand, gentle fingers wiping them away.
“I am… I am sorry it took so long… I had tried to come sooner but as I was working on it… that one night… I worried you wouldn’t wish to see me… so I waited…”
He smiled so warmly and lovingly down at Virgil and Virgil blushed.
“I knew you would return one day and then I could be with you, if that was still what you wished.”
Virgil’s tears doubled as he laughed, nodding.
“You have no idea,” he said and with that he wrapped his arms around the other’s neck and kissed him desperately. He hated closing his eyes, worried that the man would vanish and the star would be back in the sky, but instinct won over his fear. Luckily, he still felt the other kissing him back.
 Pulling away, Virgil blushed.
“I just realized… I don’t know what to call you… do you even have a name?”
The man nodded, smiling down at him as if he was the most precious thing in the world.
“My actual name you would not be able to pronounce. But I have chosen a new one for myself, now that I no longer have need for the other. You may know me as Logan.”
 Virgil mouthed it and smiled.
It was the perfect name for his star.
“Logan,” he said and the man blushed but beamed. Virgil blushed as well but couldnt stop smiling.
“Virgil,” Logan said, smiling back. He then glanced up at his old home. “It’s so much different… seeing it through these eyes… and thinking… so strange... but… if you’re here… and this is your home… then I want to share it with you… if that is something you would like.”
Virgil just threw his arms around him and buried his face into the crook of Logan’s neck. Long arms wrapped around him, embracing him. If he hadn’t quite been sure that this wasn’t all an elaborate dream, he was sure now.
Nothing in life had felt as safe and sound as his time with his star had and that was the exact feeling he felt now, in the other’s arms. He smiled and pressed closer.
 “I love you, Logan.”
He didn’t know how, but he could feel rather than see Logan’s smile.
 “I love you, Virgil.”
I just want you to know who I am.

Have you ever questioned your love for your husband? Maybe after an argument or shortly before the wedding.
My mom told me she was very close to cancelling her and my step father's wedding the day before it was held because she was overthinking their relationship and all their little disagreements.
Runaan and I have had plenty of dark times together. Sometimes we haven't understood each other's views well, and it's caused extra stress when we both hoped to be united. I've definitely questioned the wisdom of loving this assassin! But I've never questioned that love itself. The heart wants what the heart wants, and to deny that want is just silly. It's there, just acknowledge it! And then you can decide if you want to do anything about it or not.
Emotions are not reasons, and they're not excuses. They're just feelings. Everyone has them. They can tell you whether you like or dislike something, but that won't tell you whether that thing is good or bad. You have to decide that yourself.
Runaan came back from a particularly rough mission once, years ago, and basically collapsed into tears once we were alone. I eased him through our recovery ritual, and while I lay next to him and fed him berries while his hair dried, he rested in his weighted blanket and quietly told me of the horrors he'd seen. Things had gone wrong before he even reached his target, and he'd needed to seek shelter while the Moon was down. Then a little one with a pet dog and a fist full of little golden flowers found his blood trail. Runaan was hurt, alone, and wary. But the child didn't raise the alarm, so Runaan didn't strike. His attack when the Moon rose was chaotic and violent, and he took more wounds for his efforts to complete his mission. But he chose to spare the child, and her dog, when he saw them hiding.
And when he reported his mission success to Avizandum, the King of the Dragons flared his wings and stomped his foot and demanded that Runaan return to finish the job properly. No witnesses.
Well, what could he say, except Yes? He swore an oath. So he came home to me, and he cried, and when I asked him if he was really going to do as Avizandum demanded, he closed his eyes and said, "Of course I am."
And that's when I questioned the wisdom of loving an assassin - one whose sword is directed by another, one whose choices are not always his own. I questioned it hard. Could I really survive loving him, if this was the sort of angst he would always be drenched in?
But, see, I realized that it doesn't really matter. It doesn't matter if I survive loving him or not. I love him either way.
I was very soft with him until the full Moon came when he was scheduled to return and finish his previous mission. He held my face very seriously as we stood by the ritual pool to say our farewells, and he said, "You mustn't ask me, after. I cannot lie to you, my heart. Please don't make me want to."
And what could I say, except Yes? I watched him run up the treeway, and then I was alone with my thoughts - and Rayla. The next day after school, she asked me if she could brush Runaan's moonstrider while he was away, and I said she could as long as she did a proper job Runaan would be proud of.
She dashed out eagerly, and then she didn't return, even for supper. I wandered out to the paddock to see what was taking her so long, and she was gone!
Tethu, my shadowpaw, had apparently been conscripted to keep their secret, but Rayla hadn't bothered to ask him not to show me where she'd gone. A ten minute ride led me to a quiet dell where Rayla was happily braiding flowers into Lachir's feathers, and Lachir was preening like the pretty queen she is. I let Tethu whuff into Rayla's hair inquisitively, and she jumped to her feet.
"You said to do a proper job," Rayla blurted. "One Runaan would like."
I leaned forward onto Tethu's saddle and studied her with sudden and intense interest. "And what's that look like, then, Runaan's proper job?" I asked.
She perked right up, proud to get to tell me all about Runaan's instruction. "Sometimes," she began, tucking her little hands behind her back, "finishing something properly takes longer, and you must travel farther and work harder. But such a success is all the sweeter for its extra effort." Beside her, Lachir whuffed her support.
"You had to travel out of the village and braid Lachir's feathers with flowers to do a proper-?" I began, while Rayla was already nodding eagerly. This "proper" wasn't a proper "proper," at all!
And then I realized what Runaan had really been asking me, the day he left. If I should ask what he had done, he would feel he had to tell me the truth: he'd found a way to wriggle right through some sort of loophole in Avizandum's directive, Moonshadowing his motives and his reasonings so hard that not even I was privy to them, lest I... what? Disapprove? Hardly!
My heart soared, and a great weight lifted from me. I hopped down and spun Rayla around, and we played and braided in the dell for another hour before our rumbling tummies reminded us that it was suppertime, and had been for a while now.
Runaan returned soon enough, and I carefully did not ask him anything about his mission. But as I took his braid down to wash his hair in our usual ritual, I found a tiny golden blossom tucked into it. I looked at it, and then our eyes met. He smiled at me ever so softly and squeezed my hand. And then we carried on, as we always do.
It isn't always wise to love my assassin. But I'm entirely incapable of doing otherwise! Especially when I keep finding proof of the depth of his softness, hidden where few can see.

Ahhh, if it's not too much trouble, can you do another part to that pervy sero post where he makes the reader watch porn and stuff, but this time like... fully forces himself onto reader to make sure sure learns abt the stuff he forces her to watch, or maybe he gets kaminari to join in to prove how "normal" it is for friends to watch porn together? Thank you so much!!
Hi!!! bro of course I can!
Prelude - Sero is saved the trouble of thinking up an excuse to get reader to come “hang out” with him because reader gets some bad anxiety the second he approaches her! I tried to make it clear that reader is like HECKA anxious but doesn’t realize it cause sometimes!!! you aren’t able to tell!!! and if your partner is a specific breed of awful, they’ll take your hesitance and vulnerability and swoop in and coerce you into doing something you aren’t sure about. Also, Sero knows a lot about sex and is manipulating reader and giving her false information. Don’t be like Sero.
Prompt - above babeyyy
Pairings - Sero Hanta X Reader
Warnings - NSFW, coercion, dub con, non con. Sero is a manipulative little bitch.

“Hey, (Y/N)!”
You ignored the cheerful voice calling your name, continued walking through the crowd of students towards your next class, backpack slung over your shoulder.
“(Y/N)! Wait up!”
You knew who the voice belonged to. You knew Sero was just going to ask you to hang out in his room after class, or wanted to show you another inappropriate picture or video off one of the lewd sites he frequents. If you were unlucky, he’d pull you away from class, make up some stupid excuse and beg for you to come hang out with him cause he’s “lonely” and needs a friend.
Ever since he had you jerk him off (over his boxers) in his room, you’d avoided your friend like the plague. You felt so awkward around him now, embarrassed in his presence. You really felt uncomfortable spending time with him, even when the rest of your friend group was present. He had said it was a normal thing for friends to do, that he and Denki watched porn together all the time.
Still, you just felt…. Well, weird. The whole situation was weird and you preferred not to think about it, to just avoid Sero and keep your head down, focus on school and training and your other friends.
Sero had other plans.
A hand grabbed your shoulder, spinning you around to face , almost throwing you off balance.
“Why’re you ignoring me? I called your name like, six times bro.” Sero pouted down at you, eyes big and round and you could already tell he was going to guilt you into doing something you’d rather not.
Taking a deep breath, you forced a quick smile on your face, before answering your friend.
“Sorry, I wasn’t paying attention.”
“Aw, it’s fine.” He patted your shoulder, before guiding you (pushing you) to the side of the hallway, out of the general traffic of the other students. “Anyways, I’ve missed you. I feel like we haven’t been able to hang out, y’know… just the two of us.”
He hadn’t removed his hand from your shoulder, soothingly rubbing his thumb over your uniform. It was hard to focus on what he was saying while he was touching you, while he was pressing you closer to the wall, shielding you from the throng of other students with his body. It was so loud, everyone talking to their friends, talking about homework and the upcoming math test and-
“Are you okay dude? You seem kind of…. Out of it.”
You were kind of breathing hard, and your stomach felt bad. It hadn’t before? Maybe you were coming down with something. You shrugged, trying to knock his hand off your shoulder. His dimpled smile faltered as he drew back, giving your body a concerned once-over.
“Actually, I don’t feel too good right now Sero… I think I’m gonna go see the nurse.” Before you could push past him and head for the nurse, Sero grabbed your hand, putting his other hand up to your forehead. His skin was cool, soft, fingers long as they pressed to check your temperature.
“Hm, you don’t have a fever. You probably just ate something bad at lunch. I have Tums in my room, c’mon, they’ll help you feel better!” The male grabbed your wrist, tugged you away from the wall, hesitating when you dug your heels in, reluctant to go with him.
“Ah, that’s okay!” You sputtered, “I have class and I don’t wanna miss it, and uh, I don’t know what “Tums” are, and my mom told me I should try to stay away from medicine cause-“
Sero’s abrupt laugh cut into your rambling, and you stopped talking, looking up at your friend in confusion.
“Tums are antacids that help settle upset tummies dude! I take them sometimes after I smoke a bit too much.” He winked at you, dimples showing as he smiled.
“Plus class is gonna start any second now, you’d be late anyways. Might as well skip.”
The bell rang.
You fidgeted, looking around at the now-empty hall, not realizing that the other students had slowly dissipated, filing into their respective classrooms. Sero was right, you didn’t feel feverish, you just felt nauseous and shaky. Maybe taking an antacid would help? Sero was your friend, he was just looking out for you, it wouldn’t hurt to skip class and hang out in his room, would it?
Your stomach twinged, and another wave of nausea bubbled up inside of you. That made up your mind.
“Alright, fine. But if I get in trouble, it’s your fault!” You conceded, smiling as Sero pumped his fist in the air.
“Yeah! Hangout time!”
“But -“ You paused, biting your lip. This was an awkward thing to say to him would he think you’re a bad friend? “Can you uh… well, can you not do anything like….. weird?”
You hoped he knew what you meant by “weird”.
“Weird” was touching your friends in intimate places, or having them touch you.
“Weird” was watching porn together, asking your friends which part they thought was the sexiest. “Weird” was the feeling that arose whenever Sero approached you, the sinking of your stomach, the gross taste in your mouth, the cold sweat that broke out whenever he asked if you wanted to “relieve some stress” with him.
“Of course, I’d never do /anything/ to you that you wouldn’t like. I’m your friend, (Y/N), and friends take care of each other.” Sero assured you, letting go of your wrist to give your shoulder a reassuring pat. You exhaled in relief, smiling back at him, before Sero started moving again, motioning for you to follow him. “Now, let’s go get to helping you feel better.”
——
Sero pulled open his desk drawer, urging you to “Go ahead and get comfortable man” with a gentle nod of his head towards the bed. You let your backpack slip to the floor, sighing when the heavy weight left your shoulders. Sero hadn’t made his bed that morning, but  you figured he probably hadn’t been expecting company.
Smoothing out the blankets, you took a seat, watching your black-haired friend sift through his desk drawers, looking for the antacid tablets he had promised.
A triumphant “Aha!”  signaled that he had found them, holding the little bottle up high as he turned towards you. But  the male didn’t offer you the bottle, nor open it to measure out the tablets for you. He shook it,  but there was no familiar noise of pills rattling inside, instead the two of you were met with silence.
“Aw, shit, I’m sorry (Y/N). I guess I used them all up.” The empty bottle was placed on the desk. “But I have another idea that might work, if you’d like to try it?”
You shrugged,  hand coming to poke at your stomach “It’s okay, don’t worry. I can just go to the nurse-“
“C’mon, that’s on the other side of campus. You really gonna walk all that way? Let me help you out.”
“Really, I’ll be oka-“
“Naw, I found something you’ll probably like - It’s a good flavor.”
You could do nothing but blink at your friend as he plopped down beside you on the bed. He was holding a bottle, one that looked almost like faceewash? But he had said it was a good flavor - did he want you to eat it? You summed all your thoughts up eloquently -“What the fuck is that?”
Sero shook the bottle before he popped open the top, squeezing a gelatinous goop onto his pointer finger.
“It’s just something that tastes good, y’know? Like uh,” He thought for a second  “Jelly! Or like a Gogurt but less sweet. Might help your stomach to settle down.”
Of course Sero would still eat Gogurts. He probably had a stash of them somewhere that he saved for after he smoked, when he got - you had learned from Mina what it was called - the munchies. He offered his pointer finger, obviously wanting you to taste the goop;  you did nothing but stare at it.
“Don’t be like that, c’mon, try it! It’s good, I promise.”
You weren’t swayed by his playful urging. And you definitely weren’t going to lick that stuff (whatever it was) off of Sero’s finger. Realizing you had no plans to move, Sero sighed, before bringing his finger up to his mouth and popping the digit in to suck off the gel.
“I swear it tastes good, you’ll like it. Here, give me your hand?”
The goop was room temperature, thick, kind of like aloe vera. You brought your hand up to your face, touching your thumb to your pointer finger to feel the gel Sero had squirted onto your finger. It smelled faintly like artificial strawberries, a bit too sweet and unnatural, similar to the fake strawberry scent of a bad candle. You tried not to wrinkle your nose. Hesitantly, you swiped a bit of the gel off your finger with your tongue, smacking your lips together as you savored the flavor.
“Haha, I was right, wasn’t I?” Sero laughed as you licked the rest of the sweetness off your finger, and you couldn’t help but smile at him.
“Yeah, so shut up, you Gogurt eating baby.”
Sero rolled his eyes as you stuck your tongue out at him. “I knew you were gonna bring that up! Let it go man, Gogurts absolutely rock.”
You ignored his statement, eagerly sticking your hand out so Sero could give you more of the gel. Despite its suspiciously artificial smell, the gel actually wasn’t too bad.  A surprise, but a welcome one nonetheless. Sero held out his hand.
“Ah, wait, I wanna try something.”
With a questioning look in your eyes, you watched Sero toss the bottle to his side, watched the male scoot backwards, spread out his legs. He reached for his pants, started unzipping them, and that’s when it clicked.
“Sero, I can’t believe you, again? This is so weird and so gross, I’m not touching your penis. It was fucking awkward the first time, and I’m not doing it again. Go find some other girl to - to do whatever it is you’re doing!”
Outburst finished, you huffed, cheeks flaming, ready to grab your backpack and stomp out of his room. The nauseous feeling was back, your stomach tight and legs wobbly.
Sero burst out laughing.
“Jesus (Y/N), do you even pay attention to the videos I send you? I mean, “penis”, really?? No one calls it that except for like, sex ed teachers or weird perverts.” You sputtered in indignation, irritated firstly at his nonchalant manner, secondly by the round-about way the male accused you of being a pervert.
Before you had a chance to open your mouth to defend your word choice, Sero continued.
“I thought it was clear “what I was doing” when I brought out the lube. It’s like you’re not even trying to get comfortable with sex stuff. I’ve been putting all this effort into being a good friend, trying to make sure you won’t get made fun of for being a prude. I help you not look like an idiot when you don’t know what Denki’s saying when he talks about how his latest lay could deep throat. I’ve offered to teach you how to kiss like, a thousand times. Seriously, I’m just trying to help you out, and you’re acting like I’m trying to hurt you.” Sero buried his head in his hands.
“I…… That’s not….” You trail off, distinctly reminded of the last time you were in his room, when you hadn’t known what to say and ended up with your hand on Sero’s crotch; the ravenette talking you through what was happening in the porn he was having you watch. It hadn’t been pleasant, but it had been informative. You hadn’t learned much, but you knew what anal was now, so…. there’s that.
“I’m doing my best to help you learn this stuff, but if you won’t even look at the videos I send…”
You knew Sero was just trying to look out for you, but you don’t remember ever asking him to teach you about sex. You weren’t sure you wanted him to.
“Look, Sero… I just feel like this is a bit too much. I don’t wanna…. Well, I don’t want to…. y’know…”
“Fuck? You aren’t ready to get fucked so good you cry? I get that.” Sero interjected, meeting your eyes with a smirk before you could look away. “It’s really intimidating your first time, but I wasn’t going for that.”
You lifted your head. “You weren’t?” He had been unzipping his pants, what else could he have been getting ready to do? It’s not like hanging out with a friend required nudity. At least, in your experience.
“Of course not, I know you couldn’t handle something like that.”
That stung. Did Sero think you were weak? What even was going on - he was sweet one second, and then almost mean the next. Backhanded comments and rude suggestions,  you wished he was teasing. Maybe you were reading this wrong, and he was just teasing you? Him and Denki got a kick out of flustering you when the three of you met, and every time they ran into you after that, even after you joined their friend group.
“I was gonna show you how blowjobs work, and it’ll be easy since you like the taste of the lube.”
Appalled, you jerked away from your friend, eyes widening. “Woah, woah, I just said I don’t want-“
“-To fuck, I heard you.” Sero assured you. “But this is - it’s not even sex, it’s a blowjob. C’mon, it’ll be okay, blowjobs are easy.”
He was grabbing the bottle (which you now knew held lube) and shuffling his pants down, along with his boxers. You didn’t have time to protest before his cock was out, twitching in the cool air of his room. Sero hissed at the temperature difference of the lube as he squirted a generous amount of it into his palm, wrapping his hand around the reddened shaft.
A few quick strokes left his length glistening, covered in the gel, applied so generously that a few drops rolled down, dripped onto the wiry black pubes at the base. Sero licked his palm messily, doing a poor job of cleaning off the excess lube, urging you to crawl forward and kneel between his spread legs.
“Here, see? It’s fine. We’re not even gonna think about deepthroating or face-fucking, alright? You go at your own pace.”
You felt sick. But it’s not like Sero was forcing you to do this - he wasn’t shouting or holding you down; his posture was relaxed, easy smile showing off his dimples. You didn’t like the sound of “facefucking”, and you knew what deepthroating was, and you were relieved Sero didn’t expect that of you. Taking a deep breath, you scooted forward, pausing before any part of you came into contact with the black-haired male.
“I don’t know…. What….?” You whispered, afraid of your own voice. You were blushing so hard, you wanted to cover your face, but that would just draw more attention to the fact that you were beyond embarrassed, flushed and sheepish. You’d really rather not do any of this, but Sero was right - it wasn’t sex, it wasn’t that big of a deal.
Just one friend helping out another, right?
“Just start out slow, y’know? Try to lick all the lube off.”
His suggestion seemed easy enough, so you leaned forward, darting your tongue out to hesitantly lap at his cock. You were met with the pleasant taste of the lube, able to detect an underlying flavor of salty sweat. It wasn’t horrible.
You grew bolder, letting your tongue loll out of your mouth to lick broad stripes up the shaft, making Sero groan and fist his hands into the blankets by his hips. The sound made your insides twist, but you were fine - this was fine.
“Aw, you’re doing good. Mm - you can try putting a little bit in your mouth if you want. But watch your teeth, dicks are sensitive okay?”
You put the tip into your mouth, trying to make sure your teeth didn’t scrape or bite. Running your tongue around the squishy glans, you jumped when you felt Sero’s hand on your head. But he didn’t grab, push you down further or hold you in place. The ravenette let his hand smooth over your hair soothingly, petting at your head they way one would pet a cat.
“Fuck, can you - can you try sucking on it? That’s how you give a real blowjob.”
It was hard not to gag, hard to draw your thoughts away from what you were doing with your mouth and the soft, tight skin you were rubbing with your tongue. It felt weird, you felt weird, and you weren’t sure it was in a good way. But you wanted to try your best, not leave Sero hanging. You remember what he had said last time about teasing bitches, and you were afraid he might think you were leading him on if you stopped now..
Breathing through your nose, you hollowed your cheeks, creating a tight suction around the head of Sero’s cock. When you sucked, his dick jumped (it was hard to keep your mouth wrapped tight around his dick - you hadn’t been expecting it to move), and Sero patted your head softly.
“Yeah, just like that. Keep going.”
You did, rhythmically sucking at the glans, rubbing your tongue around the spongy head, popping off occasionally to lick up your excess saliva before it could roll too far down his length. Sero became increasingly more vocal, low moans and blissful sighs leaving his lips in between his gentle instructions.
“You, ah, you remember what we did last time? When you used your hand?”
Drawing back, you nodded. “A hand job.”
“Mmhm, good job. Do that around the part that’s not in your mouth, yeah?”
Tentatively, you wrapped your hand around the base, cringing at the slick feeling of too much lube and your own saliva. You gave the shaft a long, slow stroke, before fitting your mouth over the top again, suckling hard.
Sero let out a throaty groan, encouraging you to move faster, tighten your grip just a bit, suck a little bit more of his length into your mouth.  His cock jumped again, once, twice - and then warmth spurted out of the tip.
You gagged immediately and pulled your mouth back and off his length. Before you could remove your hand, Sero trapped it under his own, using your palm to jack himself through his orgasm, abs tight and head tilted back, his dark eyes closed in bliss.
When you had given him a handjob for the first time, the male had cum, but the mess was (mostly) contained by his boxer briefs.
Thick streams of whiteish fluid (cum, you knew from the few videos that Sero had forced you to watch) streamed out from the tip, slowly bubbling over and coating your conjoined hands, making everything even messier.
Sero gradually released your hand, letting you pull back from his body, trying not to cringe in disgust at the stickiness covering your hand. You wanted to wipe it off, clean up - now that Sero had orgasmed you were going to run to the locker rooms and scrub yourself in a hot shower.
But as Sero panted, uncaring of the mess dripping to his sheets, he caught your gaze with his own, giving you a lopsided grin. “That was really good (Y/N), you’re a natural.”
The praise reached your ears, but you didn’t feel the little spike of pride that you normally associated with being complimented.
“Uh… Thanks, I guess.”
Sero reached over to his nightstand, snagging a pocket-pack of tissues, pulling out a few for himself, tossing one to you.  You scrubbed at your cum-covered hand, sopping up the mess before lobbing the soiled tissue into the wastebasket by his desk.
“Okay, um - I’m gonna go now, I guess I’ll see you later.”
How did one leave gracefully after such an exchange?
Sero’s hand shot out (thankfully now clean) and grabbed your ankle, swiftly pulling you towards him across the bed, causing you to fall onto your back, squeaking in shock.
“Hold on! You’ve got me off twice now, it’s bad etiquette if I didn’t try to return the favor.”
“No! No, really, I’m okay!” You held out your hands, leg wriggling to free yourself from his grasp. “I don’t mind, it’s okay!”
Sero cocked his hand, slowly beginning to rub his hand up and down your calf, in a mockery of a massage. “I know you’re okay, I want to make you feel great. I’m good at this next part.”
He winked, the hand not rubbing your calf coming to pull at your school skirt, flipping it up to reveal your panties. You whined, trying to push it back down, cover yourself, but Sero clicked his tongue, easily batting your hands away.
“Don’t be shy baby,  you got nothing to hide.”
“Sero, this is really making me uncomfortable - I don’t -“
“Shh, hey, you know I would never hurt you. I’m your friend, and I only want what’s best for you.”
Your panic was rising, blooming in your chest like a heavy flower, petals dropping and falling to your stomach to dissolve into acid that boiled into nausea. But that was just nerves, right?
Sweat was already pooling on your back, slicking up your hands, making your hair cling to your forehead.
Sero was your friend, but this was starting to feel a little unfriendly. But you didn’t have time to think when his hands were pulling down your panties, exposing your cunt to his hungry gaze.
“Damn, you’re real pretty.”
You squirmed, opened your mouth to protest, but Sero was hefting one of your legs over his shoulder, opening you up for easier access to your folds. He was going too fast, this was all going too fast and you couldn’t-
Long fingers swiped along the outside of your pussy, sending a twinge of sensation (pleasure?) up into your tummy.  They stroked up and down, spread your folds, tapped around the puffy pink skin until they came in contact with your clit. With a gasp, your hips involuntarily bucked, chasing the sensation. Sero grinned at you.
“See? It only gets better. Let me take care of yo, it’ll all be okay.”
His fingers continued to pet you, slowly collecting wetness as it seeped out of your pussy, shame coloring your cheeks and making your arms curl across your chest, as if to hold yourself. Sero didn’t seem to mind, not when he was so focused on touching you.
He used his other hand to pat around the bedspread, looking for the lube he had so carelessly dropped earlier. When he found it, you heard the cap flick open, and then the cold gel was squirted onto the top of your slit. You gasped, squeezing your eyes shut, trying to keep your hips from jumping forward when Sero massaged the lube onto your pussy, using three fingers to smush and spread the lube around.
It felt exquisite.
Your thighs were tensing, short, little spasms of the muscle each time his fingers came into contact with your clit, and you could feel your pussy pulsing, oozing out wetness. Breathing shakily, you whined when Sero traced a single finger around your hole, teasing.
“I’m gonna finger you open, alright? You look so sexy like this, letting me make you feel good.”
His finger entered you slowly, a long, steady press. It was uncomfortable, but not exactly unpleasant, and smooth due to the lube. You wanted him to wait, to let you adjust to the intense sensation, gather your senses, but the ravenette kept steady, drawing his finger out at the same pace before pushing it back in.
Sero’s thumb rubbed at your clit, swiping back and forth, smushing the little nub and making you (to your embarrassment) moan. It felt good, the nausea in your stomach fading as the pleasure built.
Next thing you knew, Sero was fucking you with two fingers, then three, increasing the pace on each addition.  Your hips were bucking wildly, thrusting down each time his fingers pushed up, fucking yourself on his long, slim digits.
“Sero, Sero, ah, ah-“
You cried, and your friend swore under his breath, before his hand left your cunt empty. Opening your eyes, you barely had time to look at the male questioningly before he was grabbing your hips, flipping you over onto your stomach. You squirmed, able to feel your hole clenching and unclenching rhythmically - you felt unusually empty.
“Sero?”
Something hard and hot was pressed against you, Sero leaning over you, his legs on either side of your own as he pulled your hips up and back, putting you on your knees.
“Calm down, I’m only gonna put in the tip. It’s not sex, no need to worry.”
The tip?
You realized what was happening, why he turned you over, what was pressing up against your folds, what the male mean’t by “just the tip”
“Wait!!-“ You thrashed, breathing heavily, clawing at the sheets to pull yourself forward, away, anywhere but pressed up against your friend.
But Sero was stronger than you, had your hips in a bruising grip as he pressed forward, his cock breaching your hole. He kept you still as he thrust shallowly, keeping to his promise of “just the tip”.
It was bigger than his three fingers had been, and the stretch burned. It quickly simmered to a slow build of pleasure in your tummy, ramping up when a hand snaked around your hip, coming to roll and pinch and slap at your clit gently.
“Sero!” Whining, you couldn’t stop your hips from moving, pushing back towards that delicious friction against your clit, the gentle thrusts just barely entering your cunt. You didn’t want him to go any further, but your body craved for more.
The male seemed to sense this, or maybe he was just too wound up, but on his next thrust, he went too far inside, kept on going, pressing, rutting inside your until he was buried to the hilt.
Sero had officially gone too far.
“This is-“ you gasped as he rubbed your clit feverishly, interrupting your thoughts., distracting you from the burning stretch of his entire cock being plunged into you. It was a struggle to regain them again. “Sero this is too-too far. It’s wrong! Stop!”
He laughed, his throaty voice trailing off into a groan.
“If it’s so wrong, why are you about to cum? Girls can’t cum if they don’t want it.”
Horrifingly, he was right - you were about to cum. The pleasure was building and rising, it wouldn’t stop. You had no time to breathe, or to even cry as Sero began hammering into your cunt, energetic, chasing after his own pleasure while speeding you towards your own.
Each thrust hit deep, his hips twisting on each thrust so his cock /swirled/  up against your walls as he pushed into you. It was entirely too much, and yet he wouldn’t stop.  He was moaning and swearing behind you, puncturing each push of his hips with a “so good baby” or “your pussy is so tight, fuck.”.
You didn’t know what to focus on.
Sero shifted, and his next thrust hit something deep inside of you, and you couldn’t help but wail as you came. Sero groaned as your pussy squeezed him tightly, his thrusts increasing in speed until he pulled out, furiously jacking his cock over your back.
You barely even flinched when you felt warmth drip onto your skin, where your shirt had ridden up.
No longer held up by Sero’s strong arms, you collapsed forward onto his bed, confused, relaxed, filled with countless emotions that you couldn’t even begin to identify. Sero flopped down beside you, utterly spent, panting heavily. There was silence between the two of you as your breathing evened, coming down from your high. You felt exhausted.
“Sex feels really good, doesn’t it?” Sero broke the silence, reaching over to rub your shoulder. “I’m sorry about going so deep, guess I got kinda caught up in the moment, y’know?”
You didn’t.
At this point, you didn’t even know what to feel.
Didn’t even know what to do.

Falling
Some LeLo fluff for you all to distract everyone from the possible impending doom our country is currently facing. There’s some mutual pining but we all know there’s a happy ending so it’s all good, right? Sure. Anyway, characters belong to the wonderful @lumosinlove. Headcanons belong to her as well. I didn’t read this over, as I’m sure you all can guess. #sorry not sorry. I’m working on doing FinnLo and LionFish at some point too so look out for that. Not too closely cause we all know I suck at deadlines. But at some point. Hope you guys enjoy! If you comment I’ll love you forever!!! <333
They had lost 4-1. Kasey was out again, his thigh continuously bothering him. Leo was in. It was his fault. That’s what was running through his head as they boarded the bus. Hours later he laid in his hotel bed that night fighting back tears, unable to stop himself from feeling the weight of their loss. Logan hadn’t come in yet. Leo hoped he wouldn’t at all. He didn’t want company. He wasn’t sure he could handle it.
But then there was a knock at the door and Logan pushed it open, looking at him nervously, hands shoved deep in his pockets.
“Hey,” Logan said softly.
 “Hi.”
Logan stood uncertainly in the doorway for another minute, feet twitching restlessly. After a moment, he jerked into movement, crossing the room before practically launching himself into bed beside Leo. Leo jumped at the sudden contact, but relaxed as Logan lay next to him, tugging the blankets over both of them. Logan didn’t say a word, just curled into Leo’s side, burrowing farther under the blankets.
He was asleep in minutes, breathing deep and even. His head rested on Leo’s chest, tucked under his arm. Cautiously, Leo reached out and stroked his hair. It was as soft as it looked, brown locks falling from his fingers like water, still damp from his shower.
Leo stayed where he was, petting Logan’s hair, and trying to calm his wild heart. Somehow, without him saying a word, Logan had known exactly what he needed. He hadn’t asked questions, he hadn’t tried to make him feel better. He had just climbed into bed, seemingly aware that Leo didn’t want to talk.
He had told himself he wasn’t going to fall for him, for any of his teammates. It was too hard, too painful to want someone so close yet so far. But as Logan let out a small sigh, Leo knew there was no going back. He was in free-fall with no end in sight. And as Leo looked down at the sleeping boy beside him, he couldn’t quite bring himself to be mad about it.
 ~
A week later, they reached their hotel on a high. It was late. But they had won. And now Logan was dragging Leo down to the pool, the hallways empty and echoy.
“Allez! It’ll be fun!” Logan said as he pulled Leo down the hallway. He didn’t look convinced, but followed anyway, shaking his head a little.
The carpet was rough beneath Logan’s bare feet as he hurried down the hallway, still holding Leo’s hand. The pool was empty, barely lit. Moon shone in through the floor-to-ceiling windows along one wall. It was warm, humid, the air thick. Logan grabbed a towel from the rack and set it down on one of the chairs before tugging his sweats off, leaving him only in his boxers.
“Are you really going swimming in your underwear?” Leo asked. Logan just shrugged. Then, with a smirk, he took a few running steps and jumped into the pool.
“LOGAN!”
He popped up a moment later, dripping wet and grinning like a fiend.
“Something wrong, Nut?” he asked innocently.
Leo glared at him and very pointedly brushed water off his shirt and pants.
“Was that really necessary?” Leo sighed.
“Oui.”
Shaking his head, Leo shucked off his clothes too, setting them carefully on the chair beside Logan’s, and walked carefully to the edge of the pool. Logan swam over to meet him, grinning. He could get used to this, Logan thought, staring adoringly up at Leo.
Leo, whose smirk was his only warning before he launched himself into the air and cannonballed into the water.
Logan ducked as Leo sailed over him, then spluttered as he hit the water and splashed water all over him. He spun around right as Leo surfaced. He was grinning, dimples deep and perfect. Logan’s heart skipped a beat.
“I deserved that, didn’t I?” he said, barely keeping his voice even.
“Yup.”
“Yeah.”
Logan watched Leo as he swam over to him, grabbing the edge of the pool. Then they were standing next to each other, hands just inches from each other. Leo’s blond hair shone under the moonlight. He looked ethereal, drops of silvery water trailing down his face, hair glowing under the moonlight and dim pool lights.
 “Lo?”
He shook his head. “Yeah? What’s up?”
“Where’d you go there?”
Logan flushed. “Sorry. Got distracted.”
Leo smiled easily. “It’s all good.”
He pushed off from the wall, gliding to the other side of the pool. His arms moved powerfully under the water, pulling him easily through the water. Logan watched, entranced. Leo glanced back at him with a small smile and flipped onto his back.
“I haven’t gone swimming in ages,” he sighed, staring up at the ceiling. “Not since high school, at least.”
Logan let go from the wall too, laying back and letting the water hold him up. “You go swimming a lot, Nut?” he asked.
He could hear Leo’s smile as he responded, “Yeah. My mom would take me all the time. It kinda became our ‘thing’ when I was in middle school.”
“Sounds nice.”
“Yeah, it was.”
“What was middle school like for you? I’d imagine it’s quite different from Canada.”
“Probably. It was alright. I wish I had siblings growing up. All my friends did, but I was an only child. But I guess that made me closer to my mom.”
“Merde, I wish I was an only child. Try having three older sisters and see how you like it.” Leo glanced over at him, eyebrows raised. He sighed good-naturedly. “Okay, fine. So maybe I like having sisters. But it wasn’t always fun, I’ll tell you that right now.”
“Oh I believe you,” Leo laughed. “I have a lot of cousins, so they were kinda like my siblings. We used to be a lot closer, when I still lived at home. It’s a bit harder now, for obvious reasons.” Leo fell silent for a moment, and Logan looked over at him. He was smiling at the ceiling, looking a bit wistful and maybe a little sad.
Logan would do anything to get that look off his face. “Hey. Tell me about them.”
 “Who, my cousins?”
“Yeah.”
“Okay.” Leo smiled, and began speaking.
Logan just watched him, Leo’s voice fading to the back of his mind. It wasn’t often that he got to admire him without being noticed. Leo just had something about him that drew him in, made him want to keep him smiling, keep him happy. He’d burn worlds to keep him happy. As he stared at the blue-eyed boy beside him, he wondered how he ever thought he could stop himself from falling.
Dimly, Finn surfaced in the back of his mind, face swimming beside Leo’s. In the quiet loneliness of the hotel pool, Logan let himself think of Finn, with his bambi eyes and easy smile. And he let himself imagine what it would be like to have both of them.
