I spend a lot of my time freaking out over Undone Things (chores, projects, math lessons, what have you) but my 5 and 7yo just decided to bake cake for Mother’s Day and I heard them in the kitchen divvying up jobs (under their dad’s safety supervision) and 7 said, “And I’ll go gather the eggs.” And she went right out to the coop and gathered them. So it looks like I am literally living the dream?? This is the dream.

My almost 6yo has figured out the going on 2yo will repeat many words she says and frankly that is way too much power for this particular child.

My 4yo kept calling something “carmix.” I could not figure it out. Carmex?? No. Something with little pieces. Finally figured out she meant “trail mix.”

ok so being a parent IS really hard but not the way you think. well its probably hard the way you think but its ALSO really hard because my toddler pronounces peanut butter like "peepee yaya". and see, because he learns from me, i can't say "peepee yaya", no matter how much i want to, because i have to teach him that it is actually pronounced "peanut butter". and dont even get me started on how he pronounces "shaun the sheep" (shit the shit)
