YAP MY LIEGE WHAT ARE THE HAPPENINGS IN THY KINGDOM

im going to be real immature on main so turn a blind eye guys

so. my beloved firefighter show. first, a brief introduction to the massive fandom drama. we have buck, eddie and tommy. buck and eddie are best friends since season 2 episode 1 (we are on season 8), tommy becomes an important(?) character in season 7.

- buck and tommy are canonically in a relationship. i want them broken up asap. its not even personal. i just dont think they work, even all the buckandeddie theories aside. and if they do break up, i will call it a win and clap my hands jollily. their fanbase is honestly making me feel stupid because theyre acting like bucktommy is this soulmates endgame couple and i tried seeing it. but i just dont.

exhibit 1. eddie appears in practically every single bucktommy scene. and when he didnt appear directly, he sure as hell was mentioned. a lot. which??? weird??? considering the fact that bucktommy are supposed to be in a relationship and very in love. like maybe i dont know shit about dating but im pretty sure that its objectively weird to include the best friend in all scenes the couple has. so far, in s8, buck and tommy had one (1) scene. and it had eddie in it.

then there’s the whole weird thing on how buck and tommy got together in the first place and one might argue that buck was trying to get eddie’s attention, not tommy’s. so like yeah eddie sure is haunting their narrative a lot and for seemingly no reason which kind of stops me from feeling attached to the ship. which i tried initially before i started praying on their breakup.

- in the scenes buck and tommy (+eddie. cant forget that he was there) did have. sigh. their dynamics is just weird. first of all, tommy is older than buck. like, he was in the flashbacks of the older coworkers (he was kind of racist and kind of homophobic and misogynistic in those too, but ok ill let that pass, people change blah blah). and he called buck kid before they got together. which. sigh. im generally against age gaps i dont fw that stuff and theyre not letting me forget that they do have an age gap. but fine, ill put the age gap aside. theyre both adults so yk. surely it wont be THAT bad. alas. it is. moving to the next exhibit

exhibit 2. the bachelor party. so buck is really excited to organise this themed party for their his brother in law (a dude tommy was kind of racist towards in the flashback btw). the theme is. 80s. buck and eddie do matching costumes (suggested by eddie. very enthusiastically)! matching each others freak! yay! what does tommy do. he arrives in a henley. and as a person who kind of relates to buck in a way that i get excited about things. tommy’s low effort uninterestingness wouldve kind of been hurtful to me? like the way he casually kind of discarded that excitement buck had about this party was giving “im not interested in your interests babe 🫶” and from personal experience! not nice! and buck already had like a shit ton of self esteem issues and like yeah im projecting but please please break up w tommy you deserve better buck please

- name. so evan buckley has been going by buck. everyone calls him buck except his parents (bad. he doesnt like that) and his sister. sometimes. tommy calls him evan all the fucking time. which feels. condescending. i do not like it in the slightest. break up bucktommy. for me. please.

now! onto the clowning part.

ok look. buck and eddie. theyre so special. their friendship is so special. and if they go canon. that would be absolutely historical. like a queer non established from the beginning romance? that has 6+ years of shared history? they were friends before they were lovers and they could be THE friends to lovers in my eyes. and look if they dont go romantic, i really wont be that sad? their friendship kind of remains regardless so like while i do think it would be bold and take some good writing to have them go down the romantic line. i also do really cherish their friendship. but i am strongly gaslit that they will go romantic. to the point where i fear that im clowning about it.

- the actor playing buck recently said that he wants some slowburn for buck. some will they wont they kind of relationship. that the audience will have to yearn for. like my man your character is in a relationship and that relationship came together in, let me check… 2 episodes? slowburn? bucktommy? i have a VERY hard time believing that. there were a whole bunch of other quotes that could be interpreted as bucktommy breakup (yay 🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶🫶). like you dont see any other member of the cast speaking about their love interest the same way this man does about tommy.

- the episodes 5 and 6 are centred on buck and eddie respectively. episode 5 will have tommy “weirded out by something about buck” (surprise surprise). episode 6 is called confessions. eddie has a lot of potential queer coding (eddie: “i just hate having to date. it feels like i have to perform”; someone else about eddies relationship: “just make sure youre following your heart. not christopher’s [his son]” ahh stuff). and episode 6 is centred on him. it also is coming out on nov 7th, 2 days after the infamous destiel election day. so having eddies coming out in that episode would be the funniest thing ever. and the marketing for these episodes is driving me insane. like. will they. wont they. will they. wont they. i feel like im clowning so hard but i also feel like i cant be wrong about this stuff yk? too many coincidences?

so yeah. episode 5 is coming out today. wish me luck (bucktommy breakup ⁉️)

The song itself uses funeral imagery to show the death of a relationship, and it's no different for Hunter and Crosshair. As the first season progresses it becomes more and more clear that the bond they once shared is dying, as they betray each other continuously throughout the season, Crosshair hunting them down, Hunter refusing to go back for him.

Neither of them were sparing each other from their misery, and they both convinced themselves that they were the ones doing the right thing, Hunter taking care of his other brothers, Crosshair because he was a loyal soldier, and therefore everything they did to the other was justified through that. And yet despite their growing resentment for each other, they still missed them. They both still tried to rekindle that brotherhood they once shared but they were such different people by then that it didn't work out.

"used to tell me I was brave" They're no longer supporting each other. And Crosshair is able to cut wounds in Hunter now that only Crosshair could cut. Only because he knows exactly how to hurt Hunter. He used to stand by Hunter, his leader, no matter what. But now hes accusing Hunter of failing, of being too weak to lead. And it hits Hunter so hard that he struggles with crosshairs words a year later in S2. And those words hurt him so much because Crosshair knew him so well he knew exactly how to hurt him.

Despite the fact that Crosshair is on Kamino and Hunter is on the Marauder with the rest of the batch, neither of them will really be home because their family isn't complete. Not while theyre separated. And no matter what, no matter how much they hurt each other, no matter how much they try to hide it, they miss each other.

And in the end when they both had the chance to come back to the other, they both turned it down. And everytime they hurt each other they hurt themselves because they don't want to hurt each other. They're stuck in a cycle of using their own pain to justify causing each other pain, which brings themselves even more pain from hurting the other. They've lost each other and they've lost themselves in the process. Neither are the lighthearted, michevous brothers who trusted each other more than anything in S7 of TCW, they're colder and reserved, and they've left each other, something they used to think was impossible.

babe... if i didn't post fics that were similar to my life, 90% of my fics would simply not exist. ducky? she wouldn't exist. i think the beautiful thing about writing is that most often, you pull from things that you know. a lot of my characters reflect my anxious tendencies and trauma, but you can change how that story goes. its honestly very healing when you stop thinking about what could happen if somebody you know finds your work and just write whatever comes to mind. you don't even have to post it, but if you do want to, i would recommend creating an entirely new account! i created wandasaura because i previously had another account that i felt i couldn't branch out on. i grew my tumblr platform for years. i've had the same blog since i was 11, and a lot of my mutuals are people that i consider to be like older sisters to me (bc ur girl has always been immaculate at finding older women and befriending them) and i couldn't bare the thought of them reading yail or kmp. i tried for a long time to keep this blog entirely separate. i created a 'title' name. shocker, aura is not my real name, and i just went with it. now a lot of my mutuals have found this account, but it existed as its own entity for long enough that i don't necessarily feel ashamed or embarrassed about my friends finding it, because at the end of the day if theyre looking through your masterlist or on your blog for long enough to know that its you.. they probably have an interest in the content you create. so really the only thing that stops you from writing is you !! its easier said than done to just put yourself out there, but another thing thats helpful, and honestly kinda sad lol, is that we think its obvious when we're going through something. a lot of times i think its obvious that im in a depressive episode, or my friends think its obvious that they're sad, but its really not. putting yourself into your fics is the same concept. youre aware of how similar you are to this character, and how this story may reflect aspects of your life, but thats only because you know it all like the back of your own hand. i promise 76% of the time nobody is going to connect the invisible dots that you've strung together. and the 24% of the time that somebody might notice, is probably not going to be the end of the world.

my opinion on ms laurence is a little bit different simply because jesson decided it would be a good idea to make laurence a creepy stalker obsessed with aphmau to the point of where i had to pause the series multiple times and go "why has aphmau not gotten a restraining order?"

in pdh laurence was good for about 4 episodes and then the weird obsession with a person youve barely met started and continued until your TWENTIES. YOUR. TWENTIES. absolutely insane

MMMBBUUTTT why i still love him is because simply put, it's not his fault. im not going to sit here and say that i know the character better than the writers do but in this case i do because mcd laurence would NEVER and if (supposedly) mystreet is supposed to be like a modern au/reimagining of "what could've been" with the mcd cast then laurence should be WAY MORE similar to mcd laurence besides sharing a name, face, and voice

hi this is still going around and i kinda wanna clarify something for all the tags that are saying "omg character A would say this to character B because theyre a dummy <3"

first of all im all for blorbo tagging, especially with greek characters and headcanons! love that shit! go nuts! buuuut just in case anyone actually intends to use this in writing: SAYING "MORO MOU" IS NOT THE SAME AS ACTUALLY CALLING YOUR PARTNER A MORON!

when you use it in that context it really does just mean "babe/baby," no one who uses it would actively be thinking about how the old etymology would mean it technically means moron. that's more of just a funny fact. like, when we call our partners baby in english, we're not thinking about how it can also mean someone who's overly sensitive.

no one in modern greek really says moro to mean dumb anymore. its sort of clunky and weird to say. youre more likely to say "hazo" (stupid) or ilithio (idiot). which are also mean, like, dont call your partner that!

however, if you are writing a greek speaking character and want an alternative, i simply must introduce you to "re" (pronounced like "reh" not "ree") ill explain under the cut

see, the word "moro" becomes "more" (moreh) when directed at someone. this eventually became shorted to "re" which is a word that doesnt quite have an english equivalent.

its usually used as a prefix, you put it before someones name when referring to them (it only works in second person). for example, "re kosta, where are you going?" < this implies that the question is somehwat rhetorical, you think kosta is an idiot who doesnt know where he's fucking going. or "re stephano, cut that out!" < stephano is an annoying dumbass, "re" is being used to emphasize this fact.

so typically adding the "re" prefix to someones name is an insult, a shorthand way to make your statement more insulting, and just sort of refer to people disrespectfully in general. however in a friendly context, it can also show closeness- its casual and lighthearted. it doesnt imply stupidity so much as silliness, and can even be seen as positive. this can just sort of depend on tone. an example of the latter would be "re kristina, how have you been?" < this implies a casual atmosphere and general excitement to see kristina, "re" reinforces closeness with kristina.

the difference is so slight but it's definitely there in the way its used. the tone changes the meaning. saying "re niko!" in an annoyed tone implies insult, while saying it in a positive tone implies friendliness. of course you do have to be careful with this- even in a friendly way, this level of Casual isn't something youd have with your boss or teacher. (people youre meant to talk to with the Respectful way of speaking, something english doesnt really have either)

so yeah if you want a Real authentic greek way to casually call your loved ones idiots, in an affectionate way, this would be how to do it! you can even drop the name all together and just call someone "re"- the name is implied. even just saying it in its own can be used to be like "dude." or "dude???" and It may sometimes be lengthened to "vre" for emphasis

anyway if you made it this far you must actually care about this kind of stuff, so let me give you some other terms of endearment you could use that are actually Nice: "agapi mou" (my love), "matia mou" or "matakia mou" (literally "my eyes" but more along the lines of "light of my eyes." the -aki suffix is a diminutive), and "kardia mou" or "kardoula mou" (my heart. -oula is another diminutive). these can be used for either romantic partners or children!

also the insult a greek character should use the most often is malaka. maliciously and negatively. its like how irish people say cunt or brittish people say wanker (in fact thats the literal translation). that word means a lot to us. and yes of course, you can totally say "re malaka!!!" and this could mean anything from "you stupid son of a bitch i'm going to murder you" to "my awesome close good friend, its so good to see you!"
