17 yo Lin slams against the wall the water bender she is fighting freezes the water around her trapping her in ice. For 6 months she had been tracking down these Criminals. Years getting ready to go to the police academy and 6 months of work and she can't even get through some dumb guards. She thought she was ready. She can taste blood in her mouth. She must have bit her tong.

Her parents had been heroes even younger then her. Why couldn't she do this! Why had she failed. Blue fire erupts in front of her and she has to close her eyes from the heat. The water bender that was in front of her is gone when she opens her eyes again and a new figure stands over her flame in hand. Lin swallows "How did you find me?" "I think I know you well enough to know when we say don't go after them you would ,of course, go after them." Golden eyes meet Lins as the ice holding her melts away. Azula smiles as Lin relaxes "You have done so well Lin." "Mother." Lin tries to get up but Azula holds her down. "Easy there. You've done so well. I'm so proud but its time to let the grown ups take over." Azula kissed lins forehead.

Lin felt her body relax. Some of the pain from earlier no longer suppressed and she leaned back against the wall. "Where is mom?" A boom sounded in the distance. Azula smiled and stood up. "she went ahead to go have fun with out me. Reminds me of our old date nights. Always had to remind Toph to save some for me. Are you going to be ok resting here?" Lin smiled and held out her arm. A blade shot out of her wrist guard.

Azula smiles. "Thats my girl."

Alright here goes:

Everybody was a little more than shocked at the prospect of Toph and Azula getting together...though in hindsight their similar past experiences with being treated as things rather than as people, and the lack of animosity between the two made it almost inevitable. Sokka said he saw it first before anyone else, but nobody is buying it.

You wouldn't think they were together due to the amount of bending fights and verbal barbs they throw at each other. Of course it's how they show affection since one can take the punishment and deal it out in equal amounts. Plus it gives them material to work with when coming up with insults and nicknames.

Toph became a staunch ally of the Fire Warriors upon hearing of their mission to deal with various rogue Fire Nation remnants that continued to wage the war after hostilities officially ceased. According to her, it was the best way she could beat people up and not get in trouble for it.

The two would often have sessions where they compared each other's childhood with one another. It was cathartic to hear another one go through the same hardships they did. Particularly with their family. It was practically the first step in Azula coming out of her shell and realizing that her father didn't see much value in her outside of being a weapon.

Toph's opinion of Iroh soured considerably after hearing how he regarded Azula. While she did eventually come around to being amicable terms with him, some of his comments stung a bit too close to home.

It's agreed by both that Iroh's dolls were stupid gifts. Toph even admitting she would've buried them if she were in the same situation.

In their later years, Toph became a staunch White Lotus critic along with Azula. While she does respect Aang and the Avatar position, she believes that an organization shouldn't be able to act in his name without his explicit intervention. As far as she's concerned, that makes them no better than the Dai Li.

Azula isn't...heavily fond of Suyin. While she won't reject her like how Ursa did with her in her youth, she's often pretty stern and critical of the younger of the two siblings. It's only gotten worse since the incident in Republic City where, despite being reprimanded much more than in canon, she hasn't entirely forgiven Suyin for scarring Lin. Said it reminded her too much of what Zuko could've been if he pursued his rivalry.

On the other hand, she and Lin get along quite nicely. It even led to rumors that Azula was somehow Lin's actual father. The princess and Toph never denied them cause they thought it was funny. They also wish to mend the bridge between Suyin and Lin...but also understand it might be for the best if Lin kept her distance until both sides were ready.

Azula and Toph bonding over teasing Zuko is perfect! Them laughing at new nicknames for him comes to mind. I could also see them as sparing partners these two prodigies clashing would be a hell of a sight! Do you think they'd affect each other? Like Azula grows to respect the Earth Kingdom through Toph and learns to let hair down more often. And Toph learns the importance of politics from Azula. And maybe the relax by getting pedicures together.

I would like to see that! Though considering what happened during Toph's SPA day with Katara, I think she'll avoid the pedicures XD

Whenever Zuko isn't annoyed at them for teasing him, he'll be happy that they get along so well... and he'd appreciate them getting all dolled up for him.

Aang leaned down toward Azula’s ear before speaking in a low and husky voice. “I will start at the other end of the hall.”

The heat from his breath tickled Azula’s ear and a blush grew on her ears and cheeks. He then placed his hand on her upper back which made her stand straighter. She refused to believe that he had any affect on her. She forced herself to pay attention to the group of young giggly girls on the opposite side of the hall. Foolish unsuspecting fox-antelope.

That's when his voice rang through her eardrums again, “Play nice and gather information from the noble ladies. The scandal will spread fast through gossip and the Dai Lee will find us soon after.” Aang looked around the other earth kingdom nobles were not yet aware that the avatar was among them.

Azula looked to her side and the Avatar was clearly annoyed at the nobility in the room.

Aang turned and caught her eyes. For whatever reason, his eyes softened before he spoke in a soft voice. “I know this will be uncomfortable for you.” He reached for her hand with his other hand.

“Don’t assume what I can and can not do,” Azula bit back, annoyed that he could sense her hesitance about socializing with the bubbling girls and despite her jerk back, he did not let go of her hand.

Aang gave her hand a small squeeze. He then shifted his eyes toward the small blush on her ear. As he breathed in, the scent of fire lilies soothed his nerves. He brought her hand up before giving her a small push away from him, ready for their plan to take action. Azula’a fingers lingered in his grasp until the last second.
