I really hope that Aziraphale has a beard in season 3 only because I’m desperate for Crowley to insult him the first time they see each other again by yelling “Beardy-Weirdy” and then storm off.

(Crowley will actually be incredibly enamoured with Aziraphale’s new look, it will drive him insane with lust, but he won’t dare let HIM know that!)

Creating Grey, chapter 9

Summary: Crowley barely manages to escape his destruction as he faces the next big hurdle. Aziraphale. It's finally time to sort things out with the angel. But as always, it is not so easy for the demon to talk about his feelings.

“Crowley?”

Crowley. That’s him. He is almost certain of that.

Not that he feels like anyone. He feels like a haze of nothing, fraying out into another plane of existence, swirling and weightless. Faintly, he realises that the voices want something from him. He just has no idea what.

After Crowley gains back his physical sensibility, he begins to feel more like a coherent corporeal unit again. Feeling, he quickly realises, is not necessarily a good thing. There is the familiar pain of a needle piercing through his skin. His arm feels numb and very cold at first and then very hot. After that comes the pain.

It is a shooting, sharp pain in the middle of his body that splits him like an axe and threatens to tear him apart. It’s like a flash of light, bright and metallic in its intensity, spreading through his veins. Suddenly, there are flustered voices around him. He can feel his body start twitching in spastic waves. Someone is screaming. Maybe that’s himself.

Someone pulls on his arm and a woman’s voice murmurs words in a language that makes no sense to him. Shortly after that he falls back into pleasant tender blackness.

Crowley has no idea how much time has passed before he finally opens his eyes. He blinks. A rustic-looking wooden ceiling slowly swims into his focus. Around him are the ruffled curtains of a canopy bed. It smells of herbs and incense sticks and sorcery.

Ah.

The witch’s cottage , he thinks languidly.

Maybe Crowley made a disapproving noise, or maybe he didn’t, but suddenly Aziraphale’s face floats into his field of vision. He looks crumpled and overtired, and as if he hadn’t shaved for weeks. There are dark circles under his eyes, which should actually be completely impossible, considering that he doesn’t need sleep.

“ Crowley! Oh, thank- thank God,” Aziraphale exhales audibly.

Crowley would be concerned by the tone of his voice, but he’s too busy staring at Aziraphale’s lower half of his face. The beard is tightly curled and thick as sheep wool with a golden white colour. A soft fluff, but totally rebellious in its own way. Crowley has never seen him like this before and his heart skips a beat. The angel is so staggeringly beautiful and oh, bollocks , why does this conventional full beard suit him so much?! Is that even allowed? That’s the last thing he bloody needed after his near death experience. He is actually wheezing a bit again.
