Ridiculously Earnest
●Jeonhannah13 Note: I’m not a good writer especially if it’s in English damnnn lolol I do write but just in my native language so forgive me if there’s any mistake. This is dedicated to a fellow ayahina fan bc ayahina is life!!!
I dont really know what’s the focus of this short fanfic but eh Ayato being an idiot and Hinami being a tease lol That’s it lmaooo
This takes place when Ayato came back from the under under underground of the 24th Ward but eh I wrote this before things happened on manga so ofc everything is peaceful here. Anyway enjoy! For @selinaskyel sry if it’s shitty af lmao ●
She’s weak as a bird, fragile as a glass. She easily cries like a brat who falls on her ass.
“Ugh, what the fuck are you thinking”
He whispers as he read the short poem he just wrote. He can’t help but think about how stupid his chosen words to write dedicated to a beautiful girl who caught his eyes.
His personality is the complete opposite of her kind, loving and bright one.
He’s rough, rude and dark.
But still, this doesn’t mean that he won’t have a heart for feeling this way for her. For Hinami.
Let’s repeat that.
He has a heart. Kirishima Ayato has a heart. This edgy, young and handsome ghoul has one. And he thinks that it’ll only beat for this girl.
For the rest of his life.
Is this really love?
The smile she gave when they first met was his ticket to the ride called first crush. The time they spent as partners in every Aogiri missios was the sign for him to realize that he had started to like her. The months that passed while she was locked up in a ghoul prison made him ponder about why his heart was restless. All he wanted to do was to save her, even if it means going against Eto or Tatara. The moment they reunited, he felt like giving her a tight hug. God knew that he missed her so much but Ayato chose to give her a simple pat on the shoulder then realized that he might’ve fallen in love with her.
Why did he even choose to do that? Even Banjou hugged her. Fucking coward.
“Why am I even writing cheesy lines? It’s not like she’ll like it.” Talking to himself again and looking at his stupid writing about Hinami, who apparently a brat who fell on her ass, as his poem said.
“Who’s not gonna like it? It’s…nice.”
His shoulders and heart jump as he turns around to find the girl behind him.
Did she just read his poem?
“What the hell do you think you’re doing! Don’t know how to fucking knock?” He rudely says as he tries to hide his embarassment.
He thinks that Hinami is laughing at him in her mind.
But actually, she really is laughing in reality.
“Ayato-kun, you have a great choice of words.” She ignores his tactless mouth and smiles.
Goddammit, she’s so beautiful.
“Donľ flatter me. It’s not like I’m serious about this.” He retorts bacj as he crumples the paper. Ayato stands up fron where he’s sitting. He feels like he’s gonna attack Hinami because of how close she is.
Especially when he can’t erase in his mind the only chance he had to feel her heat when she took him back to the greenhouse.
Another chance he had to hug her and he again let it slipped.
He lays down on his bed, well if you can call this ripped mattress a bed, thinking that Hinami will take this as a hint to get out of his room, or more like cell.
“So who’s the lucky girl?” He closes his eyes as he realized that Hinami is in a good mood and looks like she’s stayinh for a while and joins him on his bed.
What the fuck? Is she fucking stupid or is she an idiot for being fucking stupid?
This is a guy’s room and she’s sitting on a guy’s bed plus she’s too close to him. It makes him think about things he shouldn’t think.
Oh, Ayato you poor boy.
“What lucky girl?” He replies trying to sound likr he’s bored to death. Actually, right now he can’t calm himself down and if he looks at her, he’ll likely get a heart attack.
Just imagining Hinami on his bed is enough to make his mind go wild.
“Ayato-kun is writing a poem for a girl. It must mean that she’s special.” She simply says and moves a little closer to his form. He feels the dip of his bed and this make him open his eyes.
Like a deer caught in the headlights.
He feels her body heat as she keeps on talking about the brat who falls on her ass. She’s laughing about how cute but stupid that girl is.
She also said something like he must really like her because he’s putting effort to write her something when it’s not his personality to do it.
Ayato wakes up from his daydreaming and sits up. This made Hinami stop.
“Hina, she means the world to me.” He mutters quietly and looks straight into her eyes. Ayato leans against the wall and sighs dreamily.
Like a girl stupidly in love.
“She’s amazing. I don’t even have the guts to tell her my feelings. She’s way too out of my league.”
All he wanted to say is her name directly.
Ayato looks at her and there she is smiling sadly at him.
Why is she sad?
“Are you okay?” He asks and she just shakes her head. He can’t help but worry about this girl who always wears a bright smile on her beautiful face.
“Ayato-kun, I’m glad that you found someone. You won’t be alone anymore.”
“Hinami.” He calls her name and she looks at him dead straight on his eyes. This made him gulp down. Just with that look, his heart is already going crazy.
“I wish I can meet her, Ayato-kun.” Again, with a sad smile on her lips he can’t help himself and reach out to her hand.
“Hinami.” He calls her again and she giggles. “Ayato-kun, you’re like my bestfriend. Of course, I want to meet this girl you really like.” She responds with the intent of teasing him. He intertwines their fingers like it’s a natural thing for them.
Bestfriend she says.
“Hinami.” This time, when Ayato calls her Hinami leans on his shoulder. His body stiffens as her heat and scent touches his senses. He feels like floating just with these simple things.
Just how much of a sucker is he for her?
“I hope I can find someone here too. Just like you did, Ayato-kun.”
When Hinami let out those words, Ayato’s self-control runs out of the room. It seems like this is a chance to hug her. To touch her more. Another chance and he’s not letting this one slide again. Not when Hinami looks really sad, for unknown reasons.
“A-ayato-kun…?”
“Hinami, you already met her. I guess you just don’t realize it.”
Hinami is confused with whatever Ayato is talking about. She tries to move so she can see his handsome face but he tightens his arms around her. She can’t help but gasp as he does this.
“Um, Ayato…kun?”
He’s now panicking inside when he realizes that he hugged her harder. How is he suppose to coolly let go now?
He doesn’t know what to do now that he got themselves into a couple-like position. Actually, they haven’t realized it at first but when there’s only two people in a closed room, well closed cell, with just their breathing and heart beating as the sound they won’t have a choice but to feel things.
Like, how she’s almost on his lap.
Fuck.
“I won’t ever leave you alone.” He randomly says as he tries to ignore the tension between them.
She slowly reaches out to him and hugs him back. Ayato feels her little hands crawl up to his neck and this time with all the touching they’ve had earlier he quietly welcomes it.
But of course, his heart can’t still calm the fuck down.
“Ayato-kun, I don’t want to be a burden to you. You can be with her and I’ll be fine by myself. I’ll support you. I’ll still be your friend.”
What the fuck is she saying?
Ayati is having an internal battle with himself ‘cause damn he wants to fucking kiss her and tell her that she is the one in the stupid poem.
But he’ll feel like digging a holr or going back to the most underground levels of the 24th Ward just to hide his cheesy-poem writing ass.
Ayato was the first one to let go but he makes Hinami look at him. He tilts her head and fuck he feels like she’s sucking his life out.
He’s nervous as fuck and damn he decides to ignore it and just feel the moment.
“Hina, you don’t understand.” He stutters a bit and now he makes a choice that it doesn’t matter.
Fuck everything because he really likes her.
Before Hinami speaks, Ayato leans and kisses her fairly on the lips. He feels her breathing stops and pulls ways as fast as he thought about finally doing it.
Hinami freezes up but recovers when Ayato poker her cheeks. Her now red cheeks.
“Ayato-kun, wha…?” Not believing what just happened, she can’t think of words.
He kissed her.
“Do you understand now?” Ayato asks Hinami as they both blush hard.
Imagine two young ghouls both with rough memories about life finds comfort in each other and falling in love together?
Hinami’s eyes grow bigger and she gapes at him. She’s been feeling weird ever since they both hit puberty. It’s like Ayato always looks good and cool.
It’s been years since she felt that and it looks like it might be because she’s crushing on him.
That’s why when she realizes that Ayato has someone he loves, she feels devastated. Since they are always together it’ll be impossible for him to like her.
Or so she thought.
In this kind of confession, this is the moment where the girl will tear up out of happiness but of course that only happens on dramas and novels.
This one is reality.
A reality for these two who found each other in the darkest times of their lives.
This moment is the time for Hinami to laugh her heart out.
Gosh, so they feel the same after all?
This made Hinami giggle as she realizes it.
Ayato frowns and pouts. Hinami finds this adorable and pinches his cheeks.
A handsome guy pouting is the cutest right?
“I’ll rewrite it.” He mumbles as she continues to laugh and blush. Hinami can’t still believe that she was the brat on his poem.
“No, I love it Ayato-kun.” She says with honesty and a contented smile on her face.
It’s true that she made fun of him earlier but she felt some jealousy for the girl Ayato wrote the poem for.
When in reality, the brat who cries as shevfalls on her ass is her.
“Ayato-kun, were you serious?” She asks him as the tension between them continues. Ayato keeps on darting away his eyes from her. His secret is now out and he’s waiting for Hinami to reject it.
“I…I…am.” he answers shortly for he still feel nervous. Hinami can’t stop smiling and she’s clearly enjoying how Ayato looks like melting with embarassment.
“Ayato-kun, can you write me a poem?” He stops looking antsy then eyes her with a horrified look.
“You want me to continue the poem?” He asks unsure of what to say next. Hinami smiles and nods eagerly at him. Somehow he finds this cute.
But wait he thinks that she\s always beautiful and cute.
Fuck she’s so adorable.
It makes him think about what other expressions she can show to him. In their private time, if ever they become a real couple.
Ayato thinks that maybe if he continue it, Hinami will believe that she is the one he’s writing the cheesy poem for. He wants to prove that he’s serious especially when Hinami seems to doubt his feelings.
We;;, that’s what he thinks.
Hinami trusts Ayato.
It’s just that this timid girl finds the flustered version of him funny. She’s teasing him.
he’s willing to look even more stupid just to make her believe that he is being serious about her.
“Sure.” Ayato already feels like a fool as he agrees with her but fired up. Even if it means looking like an idiot, he will gladly accept it.
For Hinami.
Everything is for Hinami.
Few days passed and Ayato os feeling uneasy. He dropped off the paper at Hinami’s cell earlier this day which contains his stupid 4 lines poem dedicated to her.
He’s been waiting for her reaction all day and now it’s nighttime. Ayato sits on the highest place in the underground. When it’s this high, he can quietly relax.
But the relaxing moment stops there when he hears her adorable laughter.
Ayato looks behind him and there he finds Hinami holding the paper.
“You read it?” he asks trying to stay calm as possible but looks away. Maybe he’s really having a hard time feeling like an idiot.
A fool for love.
A fool for Hinami.
“Yes.” Hinami answers him and takes a sit beside the idiot.
Her idiot.
“I love it, Ayato-kun.” she confesses while wearing a big grin on her beautiful face. Ayato blushes and frowns, very Ayato-like. She leans on his shoulder and links their arms together.
“So you believe me now?” he asks curiously, trying to hide his excitement but he doesn’t realize that he’s swinging his legs.
Gosh, he’s so cute!
Ayato smiles when she nods.
So this is what falling in love feels like. No wonder his older sister looks stupidly happy and contented with that half-assed bastard.
“She’s weak as a bird, fragile like a glass.
She easily cries like a brat who falls on her ass.
She may be a wimp, tender like human’s meat.
She’s my clover girl who gives luck on my sorry shit.”
Ayato’s eyes widens as Hinami recites his poem filled with love. He tries to grab it from her but for some reason he can’t bring himself to be rough on Hinami.
Maybe some other time and more…privately?
he tries again but Hinami stands up and raises her arms. As if Ayato won’t be able to reach that height. He smirks cockily and stands in front of her.
The distance makes their cheeks blush and they stare at each other with their eyes looking at the depths of their souls.
This seems to make Hinami emotional and tears fall from her eyes. Ayato beams at his clover girl and god, he’ll love to kiss her tears even every inch of her pale skin.
Words aren’t even needed in this kind of time. Looking at the eyes of your loved one is enough.
“Can I?” Ayato inquires as he traces her lips slowly with his delicate but rough fingers. Hinami shivers as she feels his heat coming from it.
God, what a heavy and luscious tension between these two.
“Sure.” she entusiastically nods and let him lead. Well, when it comes to these things, surely Ayato will be the one who will always initiate but it would be nice to let her too, right?
The meek girlfriend over the brash boyfriend.
Yotsume over Black Rabbit.
Sounds appealing.

Playing With Hair
Pairing: Ayahina Anime/Manga: Tokyo Ghoul Prompt: Hinami playing with Ayato’s hair. Rating: K A/N: A little short and sweet fanfic <3
Hinami sat on the floor with her legs crossed, gazing at Ayato. Her right hand rested on her chin, her cheek pressed against it. Her lips pouted from the contact and it received an amused quirk of lips from Ayato.
“Why are you staring at me, Hina?” He was on the couch, his legs were thrown across a huddle of pillows, a handful of white feathers were stuck on the cushion. Ayato was staring back at her, with a playful expression. His dark hair curled around his ears and it swooped into graceful bangs on top of his forehead.
“Oh, nothing,” Hinami said, and then smiled at him. Ayato raised an eyebrow and then she exhaled a sigh. She clumsily stood on her feet and walked towards him, plopping onto the free space next to his head. “Your hair is getting so long, and I was wondering...”
“You were wondering...?” Ayato repeated, leaning his face back so he can stare at her. Hinami almost squealed at the image in front of her. His hair was sprawled into silky tresses next to his face and his blue eyes were shadowed underneath his long eyelashes.
“That, maybe...” Hinami whispered, wringing her hands together. She bit the inside of her cheeks and peeked a look at him. “I can give your hair little ponytails or braids.”
Hinami expected a muddle of protests and groans at the request, but he just gave her a lopsided smile. He nestled his head back into the crease of the couch and closed his eyes. She took that as her answer and knelt down on her knees. Her pale and delicate fingers threaded through his smooth hair, and she watched in intrigue as the strands escaped so easily through her knuckles.
“You barely have any knots,” Hinami whispered. She didn’t know why her voice was so low, but she guessed it was just the atmosphere. The pale glow of the sun streamed through the curtains and kissed Ayato’s face. Deep and shallow breaths were emitted from his chest and his face was relaxed. Hinami smiled, softly. He looked so peaceful - and Hinami also felt like that too.
“Mmm,” Ayato mumbled quietly in response. Hinami continued to stroke his hair, taking a hair band from her wrist and tying little pieces into ponytails. After a few more minutes, she giggled. Ayato looked so silly with all the ponytails, and even more when she glanced at the long braid that coiled around his right ear. Hinami opened her mouth to say something, but when she looked down, he was already fast asleep. She breathed out a laugh and leaned down, kissing him gently on his rosy lips.
“I love you,” Hinami mumbled against them, pecking him again.
“I love you, Hinami,” his deep voice whispered. However, when she opened her eyes, Ayato was still faintly snoring. Hinami giggled, and then rested her face on his broad chest. She brought her legs up and snuggled into his body heat, making Ayato curl his arm around her. Hinami closed her eyes, hearing his quiet heartbeats. After a while, her conscious exhales soon mellowed out into the identical ones of his. They were both nestled together, the curves of their bodies fitted each other perfectly - but nothing can beat the perfection of Ayato’s hair.

More ayahina hcs for my lovely plum @lilacflamesss because she deserves it - ayahina visiting an aquarium.
Hinami is clearly becoming bored doing nothing at home, so Ayato proposes to take her out somewhere (Pfft totally not a date) and Hinami admits that she always wanted to visit the aquarium, wanting to see all the pretty fishes she has seen from some the books she has read. After explaining what an aquarium actually is to the lost Ayato, he tells her he'll take her later on, trying not to show her how flustered he is about asking her in the first place.
When Ayato sees Hinami once she's finally ready, he's somewhat taken away by how pretty she is - dressed in a white sundress with clovers sewn around the skirt and her fringe pinned back in a clover hairpin Ayato had given her one birthday. He tries to hide his blush when he walks besides Hinami to the aquarium, keeping at a suitable distance, but Hinami slowly edges closer until she links her arm through his, leaving him stuttering at her sudden move. She tells him it's no big deal, but she's deeply embarrassed too, scared he was going to reject her, but he keeps his arm around hers and if she's not mistakened, he even moved a little closer.
Both Ayato and Hinami are amazed of the aquarium, awed by the large tanks of colourful and tropical fish that swam by in a hurry, their beady eyes looking back at them. As they walk through, Hinami points out the fishes she recognises, telling Ayato the names he knew he wouldn't remember. What makes him happy, though, is the wondrous and joyful look Hinami has all the way through it, especially her lit up eyes whenever she finds a fish she's seen from her books.
Ayato doesn't realise he's staring at Hinami with that fond expression until she turns back and her eyes widen, quickly going from excited to bashful and Ayato abruptly looks away, trying to act it off. However, just as they move on, she holds his hand, making him tense up. Even with his reaction, he doesn't pull away, lacing his fingers through hers whilst avoiding her gaze.
Once they finish making their way through the aquarium, Hinami thanks him for the wonderful day and for the present he had bought her in the gift shop (a silver turtle keychain with a gemstone shell) she leans up to give him a small, affectionate kiss on the cheek but he turns and she ends up kissing his lips instead. She pulls back immediately, spouting endless apologises with her eyes screwed shut, her face as red as a tomato. It's then Ayato tugs her closer with his hands on her shoulders and she opens her eyes to see him pouting with narrowed eyes, his brows furrowed. Leaning down, he kisses her lightly, somewhat hesitant and uncertain and pulls back, looking away but Hinami cups his face and turns him back to her, standing on her toes to kiss him again. And again. And again.

i need some ayahina first date headcanons ;-;
YES
I imagine it’ll happen in one of these places: a garden, an aquarium, a zoo, a pet store or a petting zoo
But then again knowing them they’ll probably pay more attention to the animals than each other because come on this is Ayahina we’re talking about
If they’re in a place big enough to have those small sub-areas, I can imagine them bickering over where to go first-- “Hinami, let’s go to the aquarium.” “No! Ayato-kun I wanna go to the flower garden.”
And then another argument ensues when they both decide to give in to each other so it’s a battle of “Let’s go where you wanna go.”
In the garden, Hinami’s all excited and she grabs Ayato by the hand and pulls him around. Ayato gets all blushy and embarrassed because ohmygodshe’sholdingmyhand and he can barely look her in the eye. She knows everything about all those flowers because she’s such an avid reader and Ayato thinks it’s cute how she gets all bubbly and talkative.
Also, she’s sooooo much more informative than those little boards they have.
In the aquarium, it’s Ayato who’s completely taken in by it. It’s so pretty that he’s speechless by it. Ayato’s not one to talk much but Hinami has never seen him look so happy and amazed by something, it’s like she’s staring at an exhibit herself.
“Hinami, have you ever seen anything so beautiful and amazing?” “Yeah I have.” coughyoucough
They keep the petting zoo for the end because they decided to save the best for the last. As expected, the animals love Hinami but she’s so surprise to see that they like Ayato to.
Ayato gets a little bird on his finger and shows it to her. Hinami finds a black rabbit and carries it-- “Awww, Ayato-kun, look it’s your little brother.”
There are some kids in the petting zoo as well and Hinami gets along well with them, telling them how to carry the animals and feed them right. Ayato watches in amusement, like “Come on, Hina, you’re doing the zookeepers’ job for them.”
At some point in time, they’re walking with their hands in each other but they’re past noticing or caring because they’re too busy talking about animals and pointing things out to each other.
There’re some couples in there as well who packed food and are having mini picnic in the place. Hinami’s a little upset that they can’t do that as well since it’s not like they can just open up a packet of human meat right there and then. Ayato wants to cheer her up and he decides that something small is better than nothing so he asks her to pick a spot out and he goes to buy coffee for them to have a drink together as well.
I don’t imagine Ayahina to be the kind to kiss on the first date and since they live together in Aogiri/Goat it’s not like Ayato can walk her home before leaving for his or anything. But I bet he does walk her to her room.
Their goodbye is more blushy and awkward than the rest of the date was. She’s at her room door but they’re just standing there, staring at each other like “Erm... I had fun.” “Yeah me too.” “Oh.” with lots of awkward silences.
Eventually, Hinami’s like, “I should probably get to bed... You should rest too.” And Ayato agrees and mouths a soft “Good night, sweet dreams,” or whatever the Ayato equivalent would be. Hinami replies the same, just with an added “Thanks for today.”
They part ways and go to their room but a short distance off, Miza and Touka are watching them with mischievous grins like “Good good” while Banjou and Shuu cry over how they’re losing precious daughter Hina-chan to that delinquent.

Can a fellow Ayahina shipper get a good fic please?? With an extra large side of smut?? Lol😜🙏🙏😭
Hello! Thanks for your ask! I’m glad to see AyaHina shippers have somehow found their way to my blog.
Urhhh I probably should’ve mentioned this beforehand so apologies but I don’t really write smut?? I have twice before but that was like… a year ago and I’m too lazy. I can write like… angsty fluff, if that makes sense, and like makin out and stuff, but that’s my limit 😂
Um I am going to promote “First Time” if you haven’t read it already; it’s my favourite AyaHina fic.

So I just found your blog again (Masanori is your UiHai OC, right? He's adorable!) aaaaaaaannnnnndd mayyybbe ayahina fluff hcs from in between og tg and :Re?
Awwww thank you! Masanori is @hamliet‘s OC whom she let me borrow for one ask, which has since morphed into dozens because the little hellion is irresistible.
Ayahina:
- When Hinami and Ayato entered their first fight together, she blurted out, “Look, we both have wings!” at the sight of his ukaku. That’s when he first felt a spark.
- Ayato vacillated between hating how kind she was - because it made him insecure - and deifying her for it. He settled on deifying.
- Hinami once gave him a birthday present. She remembered Touka telling her the date a long time ago. Ayato swears up and down he did not cry, but he was found punching a laughing Seidou later that day, so no one knows for sure.
- Tatara once tried to give Ayato “the Talk.” It started with “kids are bad when we’re in a war soooooo” and ended with Ayato covering his ears and screaming.
- Hinami roped Ayato into setting up a date between Naki and Miza for Valentine’s Day. She didn’t tell him why she needed red ribbons and pink heart balloons, but he bought them for her and then found himself using his kagune to attack the ribbons to the ceiling.
- Ayato once broke down - and by breakdown, we mean a tantrum - over his guilt, but denied it fiercely when Hinami confronted him. She hugged him regardless, and he appreciated it.
- Ayato once pretended to be sick so she would make him more coffee. She suspected the truth, but obliged.

How about your top 5 mutuals?
I think I can’t list them, since I love my mutuals the same due to their unique characteristics:
I love @catsoul2 because she is my my soul mate and I love her sense of humor and pervert side (she is my wife, please).
I love @arvendell because she knows how to destroy my soul, and tries to hide her pervert side so much, that is even cute (u cannot fool me)
I love @harleyquilt because she shows a cruel facade but in fact is a good and really nice person (u really are).
I love @ayahinas because she heals my soul with fluff and just like me has accepted her dark side (yes, they did it).
Have a nice day anon!

♡kirishima week day 4: ayato♡
another fic for @kirishima-week! this is the first time this year i’ve completed more than one story a month...not bad :’)) ✨
this fic is related to events up to like tg:re:131, though the timeline may not match whatever’s happening in canon. and, mostly it’s 4 some ayahina fluff ♡ i hope u like it & have a good day ahead of you!
~1300 words // excerpt:
Ukaku-types can take so long to heal.
Hinami nibbles on her thoughts a little, and then just lets them out.
“Hey. Have you seen Onee-chan recently?”
“Yeah,” Ayato says. “I have.”
Not Yeah, why? Or, Yeah, and? He says it with the kind of certainty that tells her that he knows exactly what she’s talking about.
“That whole thing, about having a mark like that given to you — it’s pretty amazing, huh?” she says. She watches his face carefully, but his expression doesn’t shift.
“I guess that’s a word for it,” he answers finally.
“Ayato-kun. Ayato-kun. Ayato-kun.”
His hearing isn’t that bad, but she has to repeat it several more times before Ayato finally jerks and peers over at her, blinking.
“…huh?”
Hinami frowns at him, and then quickly smiles. “Um…do you mind if I join you?”
“Ah…yeah.” He seems confused, but then he shakes his head, and speaks out more firmly. “Sure. Come on up.”
Her heel was already on the bottom step of the ladder. She climbs.
:::
There’s a certain set of platforms down here that Hinami has come to know well. The scent is faint, but there’s a definite coffee-ish aura that hangs around here somehow, like magic. Sometimes she arrives to see Yomo-san perched up here, with a manga over his crossed legs; sometimes, it’s Touka, reading or scribbling on some spare calendar paper; and sometimes, like now, it’s Ayato, with legs swinging off the edge.
“Hi,” Hinami says cheerfully.
Ayato spares her a glance, and a nod, and then looks forward again.
“It’s been a while,” Hinami offers.
“Mmm,” Ayato says, in what seems like agreement.
She arranges her dress, and sits down beside him.
:::
The last time she was up here, it was Touka that she saw, though Hinami hadn’t seen her from below. Hinami climbed up just to have a little space away from the rest of everyone else — something she picked up from Ayato, maybe. She carried a book in her mouth (carefully), and it dropped as soon as she stood on the platform and saw the blood.
“Onee-chan!” she gasped. “What — what —”
“It’s fine,” Touka told her, quickly. “It’s fine.”
“But — your neck —” Hinami started, and then, she stopped.
:::
Ukaku-types can take so long to heal.
She nibbles on her thoughts a little, and then just lets them out.
“Hey. Have you seen Onee-chan recently?”
“Yeah,” Ayato says. “I have.”
Not Yeah, why? Or, Yeah, and? He says it with the kind of certainty that tells her that he knows exactly what she’s talking about.
“That whole thing, about having a mark like that given to you — it’s pretty amazing, huh?” Hinami says. She watches his face carefully, but his expression doesn’t shift.
“I guess that’s a word for it,” he answers finally.
Is he not happy about it? She knows there’s been stuff between Ayato and Kaneki before. Not to mention between Ayato and his own sister. But somehow…she thought…
Well. Maybe it was stupid to assume anything.
It’s been a while, she’d said. It was true: and underground, the months that have passed in their friendship have become even further warped. The first time she saw his face, she remembers that she felt tears come to her eyes. I know you!
But.
It’s been a while.
Abruptly, she wavers. The things that she had leaned on to keep herself connected to him — Touka, or even the gardens they wordlessly perused at their old HQs…
It’s been a while. Maybe…maybe now, they aren’t really…
Ayato is still staring into space.
“It’s been a while since I’ve seen…something like that,” Hinami muses aloud. “That…kind of marking. I, um. I noticed that there weren’t a lot of ghouls at Aogiri that had it.”
“Lots of scars,” Ayato says. “But none there.”
“Yeah! Yeah.” She pauses, trying to collect her thoughts. Trying to find the reason why she came up here at all.
“My parents had it,” she says, finally. “That mark. It was so faint, but I noticed it, on my mother. I never saw it on my father, but…I mean…it was probably just hidden all the time.”
Beneath his coat. Beneath his uniform. Never seeing the light of day until finally that scar, and everything else, sloughed off into the earth, and then was seen by no one.
Hinami picks at the edge of the platform, her hand twitching. She doesn’t know what she’s trying to say. Her vision is blurring, the way it always does when she thinks of her parents. Ayato still isn’t even looking at her. Maybe he just wants to be alone. She starts to settle her weight into her palms, to push herself up.
“I saw it too,” Ayato says. “But only on my father.”
“Oh,” Hinami says.
“Maybe I saw it on my mother too,” Ayato says, shrugging. “I don’t remember. But my father was always rubbing his, all the time. I don’t even think he noticed anymore what he was doing. One day I got worried about it or something and I asked Aneki if he was hurt, and she explained it.”
He starts to pick at the edge of the platform too, flicking a couple splinters down to the floor.
“I’d forgotten about that…thing. That gory old tradition. Whatever,” he says. “Until I saw it.” He scoffs. “Gross.”
Hinami chuckles, a little. “So you probably wouldn’t…do that?”
“I’d rather do other things with someone that I like,” Ayato grumbles, and Hinami stares at him, and covers up an embarrassed smile. Is he talking about — what she thinks he’s talking about?
“W-well,” she ventures, “I mean — I mean, they probably did those things too,” and before the words even finish leaving her mouth she feels her face heat impressively, and Ayato covers his ears and groans.
“What the fuck! The last thing I want to think about is that stupid half-breed doing — augh! Shut up!”
But now that she has a little momentum, she finds herself barreling forward.
“Ayato-kun, you know, Onii-chan is a pretty important person now. You should probably stop calling him that and start calling him something like — ‘Aniki.’”
“Shut up! I’ll die first! Ugh!”
“Sorry!” Hinami tells him, brightly, and not entirely apologetically. “Sorry.”
Is this closer, to what it used to be like between them? She can’t remember. But this feels…good. Safe. And…
And after a while, Ayato straightens, and crosses his arms over his lap again, and Hinami starts to wring her hands. She swallows, and then swallows again.
“Um. Ever since I saw Onee-chan, I, um…I keep thinking,” she says. “About how…well. Maybe soon…maybe there won’t be anyone else who knows about…that gory old tradition.” Her voice, just a little, is shaking. “Or…anyone left to teach it to.”
“There will be,” Ayato says. His response is immediate. She blinks up at him, and, for the first time since she arrived, she finds that he is looking at her, straight-on. His face is serious.
“There will be,” he repeats, plainly. “That…Kaneki is making sure of it. And,” he says, “I’m also making sure of it. Doing my best about it. I know that it sucks down here and it’s fucking terrible up there and the only interesting thing there is to talk about is who left a huge bloody gash on Aneki’s neck that’s going to leave a scar forever, but.” He takes a breath. “It’ll be okay.”
“Oh,” Hinami says, surprised by his vehemence. Ayato grimaces at her, and then looks away, again.
“I mean,” Ayato says, “you can believe in…that guy, even if you don’t believe in me. Right?”
“I do believe in you,” Hinami protests.
“…good,” Ayato says, more quietly. “So, don’t worry. You’ll be just fine. And one day we’ll all get out of here, and probably one day someone will bite you, if that’s what you really want.”
Hinami laughs. It bursts out of her, more genuinely then she can remember laughing in…however long it’s been since they’ve been down here. When the tears clear out of her eyes, she thinks that she sees Ayato watching her, maybe, before he sighs and leans back to gaze at the bare tunnel ceiling.
“Is that all you wanted to talk about, Hina?” he asks. “Or is there something else that’s bothering you?”
“Um…no. That was it,” she realizes. Yeah. That was what she wanted to talk about. She brightens, and scoots toward him, just a little closer.
“Do you have any other stories?” she asks shyly. “About your parents, I mean. I…haven’t heard much about it. Aneki never talked about them much. I can tell you some about mine, too. My parents, I mean. If you’re interested.”
“Oh? Alright,” Ayato replies. He leans back further, making himself comfortable. “You start.”

Shipping Meme
// answer the following for your muse(s) so people know how shipping works on your blog. REPOST. don’t reblog.
Tumblr media
WHAT’S YOUR OTP FOR YOUR MUSE?: Ayato Kirishima x Hinami Fueguchi
WHAT ARE YOU WILLING TO RP WHEN IT COMES TO SHIPPING?: I’m pretty nervous when it comes to smut related ships. So I’m more of a soft-shipper. I don’t mind kissing, some touching and perhaps the lead-up to sexual intercourse but I much prefer to skip the actual NSFW event. I find myself unable to describe sexual activity - frankly too nervous. Plus, I’m female, Ayato’s male. I’m not exactly sure how it works on the other end! Haha!
HOW LARGE DOES THE AGE GAP HAVE TO BE TO MAKE IT UNCOMFORTABLE?: I can’t ship with anyone under 18, hence any sexual ship with Ayato will be in the :re since he’s over 18 then. Gap wise it’ll mostly be the other older than Ayato. I’m okay with about 5 years difference, anything more than 10 can make me feel a bit uncomfortable. ARE YOU SELECTIVE WHEN SHIPPING?: Yes I am. I can’t just randomly ship with strangers. I prefer to ship with characters that have chemistry with Ayato (including canon, OC, other-series). HOW FAR DO STEAMY MOMENTS HAVE TO GO BEFORE THEY’RE CONSIDERED NSFW?: Probably when sexual contact begins, that’s probably the point where I’ll start to draw the event to a ‘fade out’ type thing and skip to the after event. Kissing I don’t consider NSFW. WHO ARE OTHER MUSES YOU SHIP YOUR MUSE WITH?: I’m alright with shipping Ayato to characters that have chemistry with him (whether through the canon story or through threads), I don’t mind making a verse where Ayato is bicurious to explore possible ships with males but that’s not my main verse. I only really like to ship with characters that can help me expand on Ayato - rather than stumping him in this love-sick mode which...for him would never happen. DOES ONE HAVE TO ASK TO SHIP WITH YOU?: It would be nice if our threads hadn’t referenced any romance at all. If there have been hints of our muses having chemistry then you can just continue with that. But asking would allow us to talk about it more! HOW OFTEN DO YOU LIKE TO SHIP?: Not frequently. This is not a ship-dedicated blog as I do like to angst and focus on canon-Ayato too. But I like fluff every now and then :) It helps that I see Ayato as someone who doesn’t outright look for a relationship. ARE YOU SHIP OBSESSED OR SHIP MORE-OR-LESS?: Ship more-or-less ARE YOU MULTISHIP?: Yes, I view each ship as being it’s own verse unless stated otherwise WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE SHIP IN YOUR CURRENT FANDOM?: AyaHina :D
FINALLY, HOW DOES ONE SHIP WITH YOU?: Just ask I guess XD

How abt ayahina during their small date at aogiri ruins? Forgot the chapter sry lololol dont care of it's fluff or smut but i wud be so so so thankful if it's either thank you so much love love xx
“When you said ‘peaceful’, I was expecting somewhere quietand overall desolated, not… this!” He points a finger at the playground justbelow the staircase. ‘This’ actually refers a small playground that currentlyhas three kids playing in it. Pretty peaceful, in Hinami’s opinion.
“My other idea was actually the amusement park. If you areagainst here, then we can always h-“
“This is fine. Totally fine.” Taking her petite hand into hislarge one, Ayato leads her down to their newest date place, grumbling a littleat why they have to share the place with kids.
As always, Hinami wins.
“Don’t worry about them, Ayato, they’re just about to leave.Their parents always picks them up just before sunset.”
Ayato hears the sadness in her small voice at that, and forsome reason, he envies those kids now. He can’t remember the last time he wassmiling like that chubby brat who just saw his mum entered the playgroundpremise. Just nice, the playground cleared rather quickly after they arrived,Hinami taking a seat by the swing and turns to him, “give me a push?”
Of course, Ayato doesn’t say “no” to her.
He pushes her a little, then a little more when he sees hersmile getting wider.
“Do you think I can level myself with the bar?”
“Unless you want your skirt flying up, be my guest and goahead and try.”
Hinami quickly drags her feet along the sand to slow down, thanking Ayato mentally for reminding her about her outfit today.
“Thought so,” he smirks at her blushing face. “Why do youalways wear skirts? Isn’t it a hassle to fight in them?”
Hinami slows herself to a stop and readjusts her skirt, soothing the folds gently like it is gold that she’s wearing. “I do wear safetyshorts inside but I try not to flash myself if I can help it. And skirts arecute.”
He sees her smile too brightly and knocks her on the head lightly.“No matter what you wear, you’d still look cute anyway,” he mumbles softlybefore walking away.
Too bad for him, she heard him loud and clear.

For my lovely plum @lilacflamesss who threw this prompt at me - some nice ayahina during the 24th ward hc…
Hinami and Ayato decide to take a lot of time to catch up once they move to the underground, Hinami often talking about her time in Cochlea whilst Ayato keeps her updated on the things she missed out. This often involves them strolling around the ward together talking quietly amongst themselves until one of them is needed for something else. They won’t admit it, but they love those quiet moments together, to just simply…talk and despite everything, they can even still smile at times when they’re alone like this.
When Ayato tells her he would have to leave for god knows how long, she puts on a confident face and wishes him luck, but once alone, she feels deeply wounded by the sudden news. For a while, Ayato has been someone she could talk to comfortably about anything without being judged or scrutinised - he was her support and to hear that he’s leaving is…painful. She gets somewhat teary and decides to visit his room, only to see him not there, so she instead lies on his bed, waiting to talk to him properly before he leaves.
Ayato comes back to his room to see Hinami sleeping on his bed, scrunched up with her hugging his pillow, her face buried into it. With a small smile, he sits on the edge of the bed and pulls the covers over her, brushing her hair back as she nuzzles the pillow.
He starts to think about how much he’s going to miss her, how he’ll miss her chirpy voice every morning as she greets him with the most delicious coffee there is, her bright smile fighting back the insistent gloom of the ward and he realises that the pang of his heart is yearning out for her. He turns away, clenching his chest and he grimaces, hesitant on what to do.
It’s then he feels Hinami’s hands lace with his and he looks back to see her peering up curiosity. Uncertain, he squeezes her hand and she sits up, resting her head on his shoulder. They remain like this for some time, relishing in the comfort of each others presence in silence until Hinami turns and kisses his cheek lightly, both of them blushing madly and Ayato’s jaw slightly agape with wide eyes.
“Make sure you come back.” Hinami says as sternly as she could, her cheeks puffy. “Promise me, ok?”
He nods dumbfounded and Hinami gives him a tight hug. It’s not long before he returns the hug, holding her tightly against him and they fall asleep in their embrace, saying no more than small conversations about unrelated things. However, as Hinami falls back to sleep again, Ayato leans down and gives her a light kiss. She stirs slightly, resting her head against his chest whilst murmuring his name and he smiles this sad smile, hoping he wouldn’t be away from her for too long again.

Aaaahhh fun family fluffy time is always a treasure in the Touken household. I love how Kaneki is way more bold with Touka now and his teasing towards her, they always battle to one up the other when it comes to getting flustered and all that.
All the lovey dovey affectionate is grade A adorable. Mai chan definitely got her fearlessness from her mother and grandmother, clear parallel when Touka would tease Ayato with bugs, as well Hikari teasing Renji with bugs too. Ayahina moments were adorable too with the sibling banter between Touka and Ayato. Touka washing off her two dirty idiots and just enjoying all their time together. Great fluffy fluff Leila😄😄
I wanted to write mini fic based on more domestic touken based and inspired on the recent and last beautiful chapter to the series of Tokyo Ghoul, so here’s my small fluff addition. Nothing amazing, just a lot of fluff haha. Hope you enjoy~
Touka stood by the door to the study, watching Kaneki type away at his computer with his glasses slipping down his nose every now and again. His brows furrow and his lips form into a pout as he leaned back into his seat, making Touka almost burst out into chuckles as she watched her dorky husband with soft eyes. He had been working so hard on his own work, knowing how eager he had been since starting his own little project. It kept him busy, though she was sure to always remind him not to overwork himself.
Kaneki, as if sensing Touka, turned to her with a pleasantly surprised smile. It had been six years since the Dragon War and yet it was still so refreshing to see that smile again, a smile so sweet and filled with honest joy. It was always a reminder that they finally had everything they could’ve asked for - a family, a peaceful home and a life they could call their own. That single sweet smile reminded her of all that. She hoped it would never disappear again.
