So what do you make of the objection that Hinanami is a forced relationship because it doesn’t have the development that naegiri has

I don't even understand the complaint of "XXXX is a forced relationship." People throw that kind of gripe around much too casually, IMO. To me, calling a relationship 'forced' would require it not being believable that these people would ever bond unless the writer just artificially forced it to happen. It'd have to feel like a square peg being jammed into a round hole.

Maybe you could apply such a description to Hinanami if we ONLY had DR3's Despair Arc to go off of. Like, maybe you could argue that the scenes of Chiaki playing games with Hajime have very little bearing on the rest of her story in DR3, so they are therefore "forced". But DR3 doesn't exist in a vacuum! We aren't meant to be watching story unfold chronologically — you're supposed to be playing/watching these installments in numerical order, because that's how counting works. :P And nothing about the way their relationship develops in DR2 feels remotely forced. Chiaki is obviously interested in stopping the killing game, and she identifies Hajime as a trustworthy ally in that. Hajime is looking for people to trust in a confusing, dangerous situation, and Chiaki quickly proves to be competent in the trials in a way that makes her priority of protecting the group evident. Therefore, their mutual interests lead them to become confidants to one another. It's very natural! DR3's storyline about the two of them is therefore a retroactive reflection of that relationship, flowing very easily when taken in the larger context.

Crying in bed. I just finished rewatching all of Tokyo Ghoul, so I’m finishing up my outline for my fic as much as I can before the manga gets here so I can clean up the outline a bit then actually start writing—

Anyhow. Crying cuz I’m writing the timeskip stuff 😭😭 Yuki and Kaneki have a son and they name him Kishou. Actually my 13th reason 😭 Tsukiyama spoils the shit out of himmmmmmm.

Yomo and Uta haven’t made up yet. Hinami and Ayato have a baby on the way- And she’s always so sick, poor baby, but she’s got Ayato with her at all times, and Mama Yuki looks after her, too, giving her as much advice and help as she can 😭 Hide and Touka had a baby recently, which was so difficult because she nearly died giving birth (ghoul x human baby = bad idea) so now Hide’s on this whole righteous path of never having another kid because he’d lose his mind if anything happened to Touka 😭😭😭😭😭😭😭 And ofc Touka having difficulty with the baby is now making Kaneki nervous cuz they’re expecting their second kid. (Bro, everyone in this found family be fucking like rabbits, idk what to tell you). The only people who are like “baby bad” are Nishiki and Kimi. Aka the only ppl with common sense 💀 Urie and Saiko are still living with Yuki and Kaneki, just like they said they would— AND I DONT WANNA HEAR IT FROM ANYONE ABOUT URIE AND SAIKO BEING OLD ENOUGH TO LIVE ON THEIR OWN!! Those are Yukina’s children and she’ll coddle them as long as she fucking wants lmao 😭🫰And I love how Urie still helps Yukina in the kitchen, cuz that’s *their* space. Back when they were living in the chateau together, his timeouts in the kitchen were the only time he felt like he was actually acknowledged by someone else that he cares about 😭
