So i’ll just go ahead and drop a few borderlands body temperature headcanons so if youre interested they’re right under the cut ⬇️

- Some siren powers influence the body heat of its user. Trance users tend to have a body temperature way above average, though they still aren’t hotter than Walk users, who are walking furnaces. Lock users and Leech users, on the other hand, both have very low body temperatures.

- This is pushes even further for born sirens (I could go on for whole paragraphs about my headcanon that folks who were born sirens should be special but that’ll be for another post) and sirens who enhance their abilities with eridium frequently. Therefore, Lilith is scorching hot while Maya is freezing cold, and don’t even get me started on the Calypsos. (hyperboles)

- Shift doesn’t have much of an effect on it’s user’s body temperature, however, due to the years of constant exposure to eridium, Angel also has very cold body temperature.

- I don’t really know much about Steele, but seeing her whole « cold » motif, one could assume what my opinion is on that.

- Krieg is the ignition point on the triangle of ignition (hyperbole). Very high body temperature due to the experiments and the constant setting himself on fire thing. (Hot x cold Psyren real)

- Folks from Pandora tend to have body temperature above human average. Also, Salvador has high body temp, even in Pandoran standards.

- Gaige’s is above average (Hot x cold Gaigel also real)

- Axton’s is also hotter than average, although it’s closer to average than Gaige.

- If there is something human/alien under that suit, Zer0’s body temp is significantly below average.

12. What's the funniest or craziest AU idea you've ever come up with?

I have in total, three AUs I have to finally write anything for fhasfsa (I do plan on posting Tales AU first chapter this week tho!!). 1) RHYS AI AU is something you saw me post snippets of - in general, it's an alternative version of Borderlands 2, where Jack kills Lilith and Roland very quickly and survives. Due to mourning for Nisha, Wilhelm and Angel, he one day writes code for a companion based on an imaginary friend he had but also, gives him some trait of each one of those he misses. While Rhys was going to slowly become the silly personality we know and love, this was my typical 'give the character therapy when they don't want it, and end up with them hurting someone else and trying to change'. 2) JUST WING IT AU is my Tales AU that starts with changes in ep 5, with how Rhys handles the news about Jack wanting to get that exoskeleton in him and focusing on exploring Jack's loneliness and adding him as the third character, making sort of second season for the game. The additional driving point would be that Loader Bot would be able to grab Gortys and run off with her, so the search for Vault would become longer Yet the AU I really hope to start exploring in the future, is this one: 3) Loss of what once happened but never before AU. It's a Borderlands 3 Rhack au that would focus on Rhys finding out he is a siren with huge time-travelling powers and the costs that come with it. He would turn back in time, when Jack was still known as John during the nights, and watch some of the consequences happen in the present during the day. He doesn't know though just how strong the butterfly effect will be...

22. Give us headcanons for Rhys

He actually likes fashion and likes casual official style in general.

He has a sweet tooth but pretends to like spicy food in college.

He actually had a heterochromia before the echo eye and decided to keep it.

He admired Jack a bit but he laughed at psycho fans, as he has some critical thinking.

Even a few years after getting Atlas running again, he still tries to make some guns himself, even if he doesn't have as much time.

He was the one dumped by his ex girlfriend even if he didn't like their dynamic because he was actually scared nobody else would be into him.

He spends a lot of time in the morning preparing his hair. It's quite wavy which gets visible in wetter climates but fortunately for him, he lives mostly in dry ones.

He met Katagawa and at first, couldn't believe he had a fan even if he had some boosted ego but felt something off about him. He turned off an invitation to Zanara because he still thinks about his talk with Vaughn about being good at faking cool. That's why he is even more awkward in future games, since while chasing the younger years, he wants to show he matured, hoping that maybe that will bring Sasha back. That's also why he got the moustache - to show he is becoming more serious. Which fails miserably.

He seemed the most confident in his new Atlas CEO stage because he had to look like it. There was nobody else to help him at the time, so he tried his best to do what he had done - acted the plan out.

He still imagines his plans the same way he did in Tales - with fantasies.

Axton Headcanons Because I Feel Like It

he tried to be a good husband for sarah he really did, but they probably werent really compatible no matter how hard he tried

hes a rule breaker with creative solutions and a crippling inability to do nothing even when its necessary

now given that he cant just sit by and do nothing pandora is PERFECT for him

always something to do, always people to save, always corporations to fight

and with the space he gets with the crimson raiders that he could never get in the dahl military he can finally process all the shit hes been through and done

he has the space to grow and he knows he should, so he CHOOSES to, he CHOOSES to better himself

and not in the way of following more rules, but maybe he learns to paint, maybe he learns different forms of mathematics, maybe he asks maya or zer0 or gaige what their lives were like on other worlds so he can have more compassion for people he meets

he is almost definitely in love with his turret thats not a question

he talks to her when hes cleaning her or fixing her

he talks about what they did together that day and what theyll do the next

its very domestic and kind of sweet but its also deeply uncomfortable to the other vault hunters because they cant tell how deep that runs

zer0 and lilith have money on him fucking his turret

everyone else put in money against that because its a disturbing thought to most, even on pandora

zer0 walked in on him crying over her once, it wasnt even really about anything, he was just struck with grief

they sat next to him with his head in his hands and gave him an awkwardly positioned side hug

they got much closer to each other after that

eventually he opened up to them enough that when they inevitably asked questions about his scars he answered honestly

he talked about his history of finding himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, of his habit of getting himself caught in tight spaces, the way he takes bullets for other people when he can, his occasional relapses of self harm

sometimes he visits tina when he doesnt trust himself because he knows he would never do anything that could hurt her and she cares about him enough that his death would cut her deep

he visits more after roland dies than he did before, because he doesnt want her to be alone and feel alone

sometimes hell bring zer0 and gaige and a board game and theyll play for hours

he catches himself staring at zer0 a lot, he finds he hardly ever flirts with them anymore, he thinks about all the gifts hes given them at random, and realizes he might be in love again

he never says anything, he doesnt want to ruin it, and hes not sure hes ready

zer0 notices and doesnt say anything about it, but they grab his hand one day, out of the blue, flash a heart across their visor, and hand him the smoothest rock theyve ever seen on pandora

he doesnt know what it really means but he knows enough about zer0 to know it means SOMETHING

they unofficially court for a good long time before anyone else really even notices somethings changed

the first one to notice is gaige since she and axton are ✨besties✨ and she fakes offense at not being told and then just teases him endlessly about how disgustingly cute it is

he tells her to shut up but he smiles the whole time

sometimes hell come up behind her and put his chin on the top of her head, particularly in a situation where it would embarrass her

he sort of sees her as a very close friend and sort of sees her as a little sister and hes very soft about it

when he realized krieg was always nervous around her he started watching real close

he had never seen such dad like behavior from any pandoran before but he immediately recognized it for what it was

he saw it with tina too, and anyone young they came across

he came to the conclusion on his own that whoever krieg was before was a very good and kind and loving dad, and one day he took that conclusion and went to give his psycho friend a hug

it wasnt well received because he forgot to make himself known and forgot to ask if he could and he earned himself a broken arm but he wasnt mad about it

he definitely learned his lesson though and only ever approached from the side krieg could see on

he never really had to forge a connection with salvador like he did with the others, salvador just liked him immediately

their jokes bounced off each other and their serious moments worked in harmony

they werent really best friends but they were close, and then they started working closer together and talking to each other more and sharing experiences and practically became brothers

he writes intentionally shitty poetry on his downtime

sometimes zer0 joins him on the rooftops of sanctuary and they make bad poems together

he likes to study zer0s hands, hes always been a "hands-on" guy, haha

he likes the way their fingers flex and how thick they are and how long their hands are and the way their wrist bends

it was at first very alarming to them that he wanted to look so closely but he never pressured them into removing their suit just so he could see their hands

he always asked if he could play around with their hands before doing it, too

they like watching the sunset together, and sometimes the sunrise, and its the quiet moments like those that help him remember what hes got and how much he loves what he has

hes finally got friends and family that love him and like him and work with him willingly and spend their time off with him by choice

he learns, here on pandora, in the dingy flying city of sanctuary, what it really means to be loved

hes never been happier

Who asks the other on dates:

Axton definitely. Zer0 is just kind of new to all this affection stuff and something like dates isn’t actually on his mind when he is trying to find a real challenge on Pandora. Also, dates probably just involve: doing missions together, drink or eat something at Moxxis or just stuff like that in general. So.. yeah.

Who is the bigger cuddler:

Axton is one hell of a cuddler, but surprisingly, Zer0 seems to enjoy it as well after he got used to that. Like, when Axton would already be awake in the morning, since he’s used to that as a former soldier, Zer0 would just cuddle up to him, halfly asleep still and Axton would just explode internally because that is just so adorable. Also, Zer0 probably kind of purrs sometimes? I could imagine something like that. //Alien!Zer0 all the way for me//

Who initiates holding hands more often:

They both don’t hold hands all too often, but when they do, they do it equally often. At first Axton was just kind of freaked or weirded out because, holy shit, holding hands with someone who just has 4 fingers feels just weird in the beginning. But he got used to it pretty fast.

Who remembers anniversaries:

Surprisingly, Zer0 does. But most of the time he just keeps quiet about that. Some would think that Zer0 wouldn’t care all too much about his relationship with Axton, but he remembers most of their anniversaries. But he doesn’t make a fuzz out of it if Axton doesn’t remember. To him, those are just some dates he wants to remember for himself, the fact that Axton wants to do something special on these occasions, Zer0 doesn’t mind all too much though.

Who is more possessive:

Even though it might not seem like it at the first glance at these two, but Zer0 is probably more possessive. In my headcanon, Axton is the first one to be this close to Zer0 and of course Zer0 doesn’t want to loose that. 

Who gets more jealous:

Again, Zer0. Like I said before, he doesn’t want to loose Axton, no matter what. But since he’s pretty lowkey about it, it’s kind of hard to point out. Especially since Zer0 is a very quiet and collected kind of guy. But if someone flirts with Axton or so on, Zer0 gets mad easily. Watching constantly and - depends on how far the other one goes - he would step in, haiku that b*tch to the ground and leave with Axton. Swords are also a nice thing to use when you want to threaten someone to get their hands off your bae. Just saying.

Buuut, Axton gets jealous too. Since the thing with Sara, his ex-wife happened, he’s just kind of afraid that he would get betrayed again. Of course not in the military-kind-of-way but well. But since Zer0 very clearly shows people that show interest in him that he is NOT interested, it’s fine.

Who is more protective:

Axton is incredibly protective about Zer0. Even though Zer0 can take care of himself and is probably more capable in getting himself out of dangerous situations than Axton himself. But well, Axton wants to be Zer0s hero and may or may not act stupid while doing so.

Zer0 is also very protective, but he just shows it differently. Again, pretty lowkey while doing so, but Zer0 probably saved Axtons sorry-ass more than once already.

So, equal.

Who is more likely to cheat:

I don’t think either of them would cheat. They are both loyal. Axton got betrayed himself and cherishes his lovers. Still, he’s kind of a flirt, but he would never act on his small flirts. Zer0, in my headcanon, is just not interested in others than Axton, so no, he wouldn’t cheat either.

Who initiates sexy times the most:

Is this even a question? Axton does that. Basically all the time. Zer0 does it too now and then, but Axton is the one to initiate it more often.

Also, Zer0 doesn’t mind the other to be a bit more.. initiative about certain things. It has a nice ring to it.

Who dislikes PDA the most:

Zer0 is a trained assassin. On missions, his mind and his body need to be on guard to strike and if there’s one thing the assassin is proud of, it’s the perfection that lies in his skills. So on missions, he will definitely not be touchy with Axton, since there are things to kill.

But also in general. Zer0 likes to keep it a bit discreet and probably thinks that all the touchy and kissy stuff is much more private. Axton on the other hand is basically always touchy. Quite to the annoyance of Zer0. Well Axton respects Zer0s point of view, still, a kiss now and then or an accidental brush of their hands doesn’t hurt anyone, right?

Who kills the spider:

Both. Why wouldn’t they? They kill all sorts of things. Bullymongs, psychos, people, skags, spider-ants varkids, more people. So why stop at some crappy spider?

Who asks the the other to marry them:

Axton is the one to ask Zer0. He just asks it randomly though, making it sound more like a joke, since he doesn’t know how Zer0 or his species do that kind of thing. But in the end, Zer0 says yes. After some time, that is. Not immediately after, since he isn’t so sure himself if Axton was joking or not. 

Also, I have a headcanon that, when they both marry, Zer0 wears the ring around his neck like a necklace. I don’t know, I just kind of like the idea that he wears it there, right above his heart while fighting off some guys in his super cool suit.

Who buys the other flowers or gifts:

Also Axton. He would be the one to buy or get Zer0 all kinds of stuff, like flowers or something else he thinks the Assassin would enjoy. (That includes some rifles for example.)

Zer0 does that too, sometimes. Like handing Axton a legendary weapon he found and doesn’t need or a puppy (skag or actual dog) for example. Axton freaks out.

Who would bring up possibly having kids:

Neither. Zer0 isn’t someone that would want a family. He’s more focused on his work and his obsession with finding an opponent worthy his time and Axton knows Zer0 and he knows just how hard Pandora is. Even though he probably thought about having kids once or twice. But well, since he wants to be with Zer0, he can also settle down for one or a thousand puppies. That’s fine too.

Who is more nervous to meet the parents:

Which Parents?

Seriously, I don’t think either of them has parents to meet the other. 

Who sleeps on the couch when the other is angry:

Depends. I think they both do that. But usually it’s Zer0 to leave the bed. Not to sleep on the couch, but to sit down on the highest roof he could find on sanctuary and just wait there until he cooled off himself. When Axton leaves, he sleeps on the couch though.

So.. well, Zer0 and Axton would both rather leave when they are angry themselves, or when both are angry, instead of only leaving when their partner is angry.

Who tries to make up first after arguments:

Zer0 is stubborn. So Axton needs to be the one to make the first step after they had an argument, otherwise they probably wouldn’t talk with each other for a whole lot of time. And since Axton would actually like his lover and him to be.. well.. close again, he is the one to take care of that.

Who tells the other they love them more often:

Also Axton. Like, basically all the time. While Zer0 is being kind of an ass, not always responding the way it would be appropriate to, but Axton knows. He knows that Zer0 loves him, and that’s enough. Also, Zer0 says it sometimes too. And everytime that  happens, Axton just dies of happiness.
