Concept art of Castle Grayskull’s throne room by Jean “Mœbius” Giraud, for the 1987 live-action movie. The man loved crystals; just look at the Mœbius strips referenced in the SPOP “Bible”. It also bears a strong resemblance to our Fractal Flake, albeit (presumably) not made of ice.

hey remember when I said I figured out what Organization XIII's goals regarding Castle Oblivion really were and that you should stay tuned? well I forgot lol. the short of it is that I think the plan to use Naminé to make Sora a puppet was entirely Marluxia's and there there wasn't actually any plan to try to control Sora or use the castle to do some big thing to him; the "plan" wasn't a solid event at all, it was just to split the Organization in half, making CO their second base, primarily used for research, and things just went off the rails because Marly got too ambitious, Axel had his own goals, and DiZ was also there making things worse. Vexen and Zexion were there for research on replicas and memory shit. Lexaeus was there for moral support and also because both of them have physical stats as bad as/nearly as bad as Donald Duck and they need him to cover that weakness. Marluxia was there because someone needs to be in charge, and also because Xemnas wanted to get rid of him with some deniability. Larxene was there to round numbers out and also because she allied herself with Marluxia (and therefore also needed to be taken out). Axel was there to murder Larxene and Marluxia but it was probably supposed to be discrete and not happen in like a single week so whatever he can do research too. Explore the infinite stupid labyrinth. Naminé probably spawned there tbh. I said "the short of it" at the top because I have a bunch of evidence I want to go through (about the first half of this, not the second half where I just list what all the organization members are doing) where it's sort of like I'm doing a mathematical proof but I'm tired so I'll do that another time, probably
