tbh i was more focused on the theme of side order instead of dedf1sh stuck in the elevator with two lesbians that would do the unthinkable if they weren't there

Just want to point out a few things I love!! :)

The quotes from the sketches page: "how do you reunite with someone you thought was dead" <- MY HEARTTTT "almost died" "wings are clipped"

That one instance [screenshot from this post below] of Grian's eyes being depicted as purple after he joins Scar's crew (and presumably whatever incident left him almost dead/"injured and unconscious"), as opposed to the brown they were as a kid? The strong implication that something (or someone? the watchers perhaps? I'm assuming it's something to do with the old crew that took them in as kids) were responsible for it.

And excuse me again for taking a screenshot [from this post], but the one image in which Grian's eyes are obscured by a bandage, complete with a watcher symbol and a glowing purple eye?? And Pearl's eyes being purple too? And they're both dressed in purple robes... just. insane /pos

The watchers are typically depicted as an oppressive force, and yet they both look happy. IDK. Something something juxtaposition, childhood innocence versus the purple symbolising something that's very widely regarded as cruel or even evil.

All this is to say I really really love it so far!!

I'm not very good at detailing moth wings which is why I went for more of a starry feel, so I'm glad you like it 😆

And since you've asked so kindly, I could share some ideas rotating in my head,

When you're a kid, I don't think you realize as much the cruelty adults are capable of. Especially when they've been treating you kindly for the most part, and the progression to harsher conditions and punishments is slow. (Pearl would've been the first to notice.)

Grian and Pearl were already stealing to survive, having nothing but each other, so when the given the offer to be spared from their decimated town, and leave as a pirate, they took it. Grian would regret that a lot later :D

I've also been pondering over the idea that no one, including Grian, realized he was an avian, because he wasn't born with wings. So was taken from his nest by hunters who'd thought he'd been stolen (hybrids aren't always treated well, and sometimes hunted down in this au, though by the time they're adults that seems to change a bit), and then taken to an orphanage (which he'd run away from) when they couldn't afford to raise him for very long.

On the other hand, Pearl was born with her traits and would live in hiding with her parents for the first few years of her life, before it'd just be her mother and her, and then just Pearl as hunters had gotten to them.

So when the two met, Grian would often use the fact that they look similar to his advantage, like "Well I'm her brother, do I seem like a hybrid? Then neither is she!"

I think in return for certain protection, Pearl would've taught him some of the basics of the alphabet and reading,

And later when they're recruited to be raised as pirates, maybe Grian would be better at the magic stuff, whereas Pearl would be better at the fighting aspect. Idk I just like the thought that they'd cover each other's bases :D

And during the beginning of the period of time where they're separated, I think there would be mishaps where they expected the other to be there, the way it'd always been.

Something something, survivors guilt and Grian maybe not being as kind and trusting as he used to be, and never making promises. Still loyal although all his presence has ever achieved is death.

Something something, Pearl still clings to the feather he'd once given her, keeps searching because she knows he's alive - he has to be alive, still wonders about if she had just been stronger—

and maybe Pearl sees a bit of her old sun in Gem, and maybe Grian learns to trust in others and himself again with Scar.

i've mentioned it in a previous post but grace is constantly cold. she wears a chunky sweater & earmuffs & mittens & scarf and is still cold,, and steph hangs around in ripped jeans, a t-shirt & a flannel.. every time winter comes around they have the conversation of "how are you cold / how are you not cold"

steph thinks that grace's face flushing because of the weather is adorable,, also i think steph would stand under a mistletoe just waiting for grace to pass by and grace is like,, well if it's a tradition i guess we have to....

i dont have much thoughts about their first christmas,, but i'd love to hear your thoughts

minor gempearl ramblings under the cut (that turned out to be not so minor lol):

okay okay, so there's technically multiple versions of gempearl from different servers, hermitcraft season 9 was my introduction to them

in hermitcraft (season 9 & 10) they're more chill, have playful banter and just generally annoy each other (affectionately)

now in the life series they're so dependent toxic yuri. gem has been in 2 seasons, secret life and wild life (usually shortened to SL and WL)

the life series in summary is a death game, last man standing type of thing. there's allies, betrayals, sacrifices, etc etc at the end of SL pearl "betrayed" gem (in gem's eyes) because she sided with the other person who was in the final 3 (along with gem & pearl)

then in WL gem is holding that grudge against pearl but pearl still really likes gem. gem keeps talking about how much she hates pearl but then has moments where she's nice to pearl and is sending mixed signals

there is so much more that happened in wl that i could ramble about,, but i'll leave you with this interaction that canonically happened between them:

Gem: “Awww, but I love when you’re pathetic! It’s cutee!!”

Pearl: “Don’t call me cute!!!”

G: “It’s cute!”

P: “Noooo..!”

P: “Look how much I’m trying right now, ok?”

G: “I love that you’re trying.”

P: “So so Bad!”

G: “Your red outfit is my favourite. Look at you, all blood thirsty and stuff…”

wowza. okay. gonna start this by saying this'll probably be mostly a review about bridge to the turnabout...!!!!! before i get into anything juicy, i wanna start with the biggest shoutout to my partner in crime and bestie, @katagawajr... literally could not have played this game without her. hats off to the best edgeworth impersonation on the planet. <3

OKAY. TO start. I knew trouble was about when it had to do with the fey clan and channeling of spirits... i could just feel it. i was waiting for it and bam. its like the worst thing that could've happened lmao.

-ahhhhh..... when ive said it before and said it again... the love and friendship everyone has for each other!! are you kidding me!!! phoenix running across a burning bridge and addressing his worst fear ever for Maya!!! Edgeworth immediately hopping on a private chartered jett cus your man friend needs you.... man. so good. and for edgeworth to take the place of pheenie at first..... (also. sorry ill admit some cringe. i cried at the thought of not playing phoenix i was so distressed LMFAOOO i missed himmmm)

-and of course can we forget the best character in this game this franchise the star of every scene in which she presents herselfffff

-dude. the showdown we've been waiting for. the fact she quite literally flew in per miles request. their back and forth. oh my god. ohhh my godddd. oh my god. their back and forth, the way she acts all tough but would do anything miles asks of her (and DOES). easily one of my favorite moments.

-okay skipping ahead a little because if i sit here talking about miles and fran i'll be here all day. um miles and phoenix... yeah you two are tied by the red string of gay fate... the way they constantly check in with either throughout the investigation was so cute to meee sorry.... esp with miles' little panic attack :(. awe. also phoenix wanting to hug miles AWWW

-okay wait i lied jumping back to Franziska for a second I LOVED HER FOLLOWING PHOENIX AROUNDDDD IT WAS SO CUTEEE... im glad she was as involved as she was that is my GIRL.

-ok idk what peoples thoughts on larry are but i think hes fucking funny as hell a lot of the time. love when a character is just useless but funny with it. his little loser shack with Pearl LMFAO (also... he looks like august borderlands so i might be biased- WHO SAID THAT)

-yeah. okay. this is the worst sprite in the history of sprites. genuinely so terrifying. my poor girl. my poor baby. when does she get a break?? she looks genuinely mortified. frozen in fear. quite literally a deer in headlights :( she went through SO MUCH and even her testimony was so heartbreaking. she was so scared and just. just wanted to get away from it all. the way phoenix screams into his hands when Dahlia says that Maya is actually dead. UGHHHHH

-okay... onto the story.... the actual case itself... im gonna be honest, i was very confused and still am about the whole channeling stuff. it feels like theirs a gap between when maya was in the cave?? and then when she was suddenly out and swapped with iris?? because dahlia wasnt there the whole time?? idk it hurts my head to think about. but i will say something.

i never saw this fucking coming.

-hoooolyyy shit. holy shit. amazed this was never spoiled for me but never ever did i even THINK Godot was responsible till the very end. till it was spelled out. and even then i wasnt fully convinced. holy shit. kudos to the writers again cus i never ever expected him. his story is so fucking heartbreaking. i feel bad for him. but damn. damn. his monologue at the end was so good. the way he goes on about how he wasnt even sure if he did this for the right reasons, that if he did, he would've told Phoenix from the start... (Damn id pay money for that reaction lol). It just... it felt so raw and real. and when he cries. man. man. just sorrow all around. the only time a lawyer can cry is at the end. while he bleeds/cries, the callback to what he told mia. just harrowing and sorrowful.

-okay. okay. the final witness being maya. my god. my god. the anguish. the pain. the way both maya and phoenix know the truth, and the way he knows she's lying and she knows he knows. its just so painful. its so fucking sad. maya knows its fruitless and she knows whats coming because the only person on the whole planet who knows her better than she knows herself is phoenix. its so similar to how in farewell my turnabout, maya was telling him to speak the truth no matter the cost, and now, phoenix was telling that to her.

speak the truth, let it be revealed. as godot and phoenix both said "Once you've eliminated the impossible, whatever remains, no matter how improbable, must be the truth." no matter how painful. damn

-the connection between maya acting okay for pearls and miles acting okay after dl-6 because someones they cared about would be in pain if they werent... oh miles and franziska... oh miles and franziska... oh i know this next game is gonna hurt....

-maya is the heart of this game, but Mia is the soul. their connection, their love, it was the beginning, the middle, and the end. it all came back to them. and i couldn't have been happier.

-all in all, this whole journey was a BLAST. i had an equal amount of laughs that i did cries, i was surprised, i was puzzled, and i was in awe. genuinely such a good fucking series no wonder it has had a fanbase that spans decades.... my fav episode was definitely farewell, my turnabout, but i enjoyed nearly every episode i played for one reason or another.

I'll miss Maya and Pheenie so much, i already do, but I know i'll have fun doing who knows what with Miles next.

A Marcus Moreno Fan Fic

This has been worked on for a while, but it’s finally time you get to read it. Let’s have both sides of Marcus, the sweet caring brave hero & the passionate man we all think he is.

Synopsis:- After an alien invasion you & Marcus are looking into some possibilities, which bring about exceptional circumstances.

“Yep” Marcus shouts on this cloudy Wednesday afternoon, waiting for who ever had knocked on the door to come in. He’s in his pale blue shirt but no tie, clearly no more dignitaries or glad handing to do today. The super hero costume locked away as he looks at emails trying to work out how he can get out of a charity gala on Thursday night. He knows he has to go. He’s been told by the head of PR he has to, he’s missed that last 3 corporate charity events like this. He knows he’s got to go. It’s only the idea of the famous chef cooking at for the even that’s making him think this will be worth his time.

You open the door & step into his office. Your brunet hair tied up, easier for work. You have smart black trousers on & a grey top. You’ve left your lab coat down stairs, but you have your tablet & some paperwork to hand.

“Mr Moreno, is now a good time to discuss those little marshmallows” you say checking he is in an alright mood & not busy.

“Yes of course it is” he nods & in you come & shut the door & he pulls down the projector screen behind his desk as you connect your tablet to the projector. Up pops this little blue alien on the screen which does look like a marshmallow.

“Awww” you both say in unison. Turns out no one can avoid their cuteness.

“Was that S’mores?” Marcus asks, Seeing the little bumps on its arms only the leaders had those & you all gave them affectionate marshmallow nicknames once you knew why they had started to hover over the Atlantic Ocean & they weren’t a threat.

“I think so” you say & then move to the next slide. “So as we know the marshmallows came & hovered over certain places, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Eiffel Tower, The Angel of the North & then they hovered above the Atlantic & pacific & Pearl harbour.” You start & Marcus nods in agreement.”after decifining their language & the way they needed help on these items we deduced they were after rust” you move on to the next side. You’ve not noticed Marcus looking you up & down admiring your sleek trousers & how it makes your bum look so plump. He’s turned on a bit. “So after a scan of their ship & their fuel supply, we realised they have to use what we call rust to melt down as their fuel to fly to the next galaxy”

“Hmmmm yes we did” he then looks at you.”so how is this still our problem, they all flew over the Atlantic, we monitored them & they then flew off sending a beacon back yesterday” he then looks at the face your pulling, like your all guilty of something bad. “What did they take?” You bite you lip. “I need to know was it something bad, something people will miss cos the last time I checked the Golden Gate Bridge was still there.”

“Some people will notice” you then click on our secret live feed that looks at the ocean that no one else knows about so we can check on the murpeople in the Atlantic & the creatures in the layers of ocean bellow it. Marcus stares looking perplexed.

“There nothing here”

“Exactly”you then shimmy my finger across my tablet & zoom out & Marcus jaw drops.

“No freaking way.” You giggle.

“Yes they did”

“Cleaver buggers” what the screen is showing is what is left of the titanic wreckage. Two of the chimneys & the railings have gone from the ship.

“Hence some people will be shocked & saddened if they dive down there again & others we can get away with saying erosion, currents or blame the Midas Meg that sometimes pops up in that area, but then Area 51 will want it for tests & we only just managed to keep the marshmallows safe” after your explanation you can see Marcus hasn’t breathed in a couple of minutes & you rub his shoulder. “Marcus it should be fine, we can easily make copies, damage them & then at the dead of night with the sea creatures & supers put them back in the wreckage, only James Cameron will notice the change & we can pay him off” your soothing words & rub of his shoulder calm him down.

“I know it’s just you know, it’s something important to a lot of people, we need to get it right”

“Which is why if you look at the next slide you’ll see we’ve been able to replicate the rust from the ship on the replacement parts”

“You think of everything don’t you”

“Well actually this was shark boys idea, he’s the one who will be using sonar to help get it in place, me & my team just created it.” You smugly smile.

“Well I know Shark Boy is good for his word, but I’d still like to come look at this before you cover it all.” Marcus asks.

“I was going to ask if you wanted deniability or if you wanted to see it, we plan on spraying everything tomorrow” you unplug your tablet.

“Take me to the lab”he chuckles.

“You know we’re just science people & not like Q in Bond”you smirk as you head towards his office door, trying not to look at how tight his trousers are today. He’s always packing even if you didn’t fancy him it’s sometimes hard to not look at.

“I do but I still like to say that line” you both walk towards the stairs but then see that they are being cleaned so you hesitantly hit the button for the elevator. A few seconds later it pings, the door opens & Marcus & you step inside. You swipe your card through it to go to the lab in the basement & stand next to him. Whooshing noises going around & then it goes silent. You then cover your ears as there is a very high pitch squeaking noise & you shut your eyes before a loud clonk & the lift comes to a holt.

You hit the open door button. Nothing happens. You try the emergency restart. nothing happens. you hit every button, nothing happens.

“Urghhhh” you screech. “The lift has stopped”

“It will reboot in a minute don’t worry”

“How much air do we have in here?” You ask him.

“Ooh at least 2hours worth”

“Is that it” you snap back. Marcus sees that you’ve started to pace up & down as you angrily rub your hands as he just leans against the back wall. He can sense you’re not comfortable with this. He slowly walks up behind you & try’s to put a hand on your shoulder but you turn before he can do it.

“Are you okay?”

“Yea me? What? Yea I’m fine I’m fine IM FINE!” The last fine is a bit too forceful & shocks Marcus, he didn’t know you could bite like that. He then turns into a leader & someone who knows how to look after his team be them heroics or not. He steps in front of you & holds both your shoulders so you can’t pace the small space in the elevator.

“If you say your fine then that’s fine” he says in the softest voice, those large hands starting to rub to smooth you. “Anxiety in this situation is normal.” He reassures you. He can feel you shake.

“I’m petrified of Evelators Marcus” you blurt out & look him straight in the eyes, you eyes already puffing up & your eyes brimming with tears. “Why do you think I always use the stairs”

“Your scared of these?” He give a small giggle & then sees that this isn’t just for show your genuinely petrified. “Oooh okay, why did something happen to you were a kid or…”

“No I’ve never been trapped in them, but I’m always scared I will be & that I will run out of air. Which is why I don’t like to use them”

“Hang on” he says “you used that one at the United Nations a few weeks ago how…”

“Glass” you boldly state. “You could see out of it, if I got stuck someone would see me. Here no one can see or hear us. HELP!” You scream. Marcus can tell you are having a full blown panic attack right now & he needs to keep you calm.

“Look at me” he says & you don’t look up, just letting your tears hit the floor of the elevator & shake your head. “LOOK AT ME” he’s much firmer & gives you a shake. Your head pops up out of shock.

“Marcus you…” he then does something you’re not expecting. His lips meet yours & your eyes light up. Shocked that he has done this but after about 3 seconds, your body relaxes & your left hand rests on his firm chest as he kisses you. Progressively getting deeper & deeper. His lips feel like plump strawberry’s, desperately wanting you to take a bite from them. He eventually pulls away shocked that he did that.

“Sorry I had to relax you some how take your mind off things.” Your lips still pouting wanting more from him, you mind now preoccupied. you’d always fancied Marcus. But you know his rules, no getting involved with heroics. He had clearly worked out you come to see him more often than you should with lab results.

As you stand there trying to calm you adrenaline & breath from the kiss & close your eyes to remember the feel of his lips, leaning against the back wall of the lift, Marcus is in the middle, twisting his wrists up at the ceiling, trying to get the kinetic energy of his powers to move some of the gears one way or another,

“Come on you bastard” he says which makes you jump out of your trance & remember you’re stuck in an elevator. You look at Marcus. You have often wondered how he makes his almost jedi force movements look so easy just summoning thing to him or getting them to move. But you can see the pain in his face, you can see he’s trying to dislodge something, like he would an actual object, he’s just not holding it. Your own breathing becomes agitated again & he can hear it. “Come rub my shoulders maybe it will help” he says. He’s using this as a distraction for you so you don’t suck up all the air in the lift but you genuinely in this moment believe it will help him. You slowly stand behind him & rub his shoulders his scent intoxicating.

“You got this Marcus”

“I’m trying” you then softly breathe into his ear & he sighs & he moves one of his hands due to being distracted by you. Clearly he harbours feeling for you too. The lift then clonks & you both take a few steps back.

“What did you do?” It clonks again.

“I honestly don’t know” it starts creaking.

“Are we gonna plummet to our death”

“NO” his face tells another story. He genuinely doesn’t know what he’s just done, if he’s weakened the lift or helped you both. You bury your head into his neck.

“Make it stop Marcus”

“I’m trying” he’s sounding concerned but is now not sure if he should trying what he was doing again or if he should just hold you to keep you calm.

“Wait can you try & open the door?” You ask.

“Probably if the safety latch has failed? Why”

“If we’re part way to the floor we could crawl out”

“This isn’t like the movies”

“Just try Marcus please, at least then someone might hear us”

“Okay just let me visualise the latch” he stand there closing his eyes for a few seconds. He’s trying to be calm so it will help you too but deep down he knows this probably won’t work. He takes a few deep breaths & then puts his hand together like he is going to prey. His palms then face out towards the elevator door. He slowly parts them & you can feel him tensing up. “Come on” you then hear the lift make a weird noise again & wrap your arms around Marcus for comfort, he flinched as you squeeze him losing his concentration.

“Sorry” you mumble.

“It’s okay just hold on” he says calmly feeling the air being pushed out of him, & he skips his visualisation & just puts his palms up, trying to move the doors so they can open. Creaking noises fill the confined space & you squeeze him tighter not wanting to let go. His scent & you holding him making you a little relaxed but not much. “Come on, you bastard please” he’s pained as he says it. You lift your head slightly, realising that looking at Marcus might be the last thing you ever see. His teeth are grinding, his hands are shaking & he is doing everything he can to pry the doors open with his power. Suddenly there’s a high pitch noise & you bury your head into him. Is this the end?

“Got it” he says triumphantly & the door slowly peels open. The door is literally half a foot off the ground easy for you to both slink out of. You gasp in excitement of what Marcus did, that your no longer trapped & that there’s now air & help. “See easy” Marcus pants exhausted from his excessive use of his powers. “Nothing to…” but you don’t hear the rest of his calming response. It’s all got too much for you & you’ve passed out. He used his powers to stop your head hitting the metal elevator floor.

Turns out the building had been hacked by a group of blackmailers from Europe, wanting money & therefore locked stuff down including the lifts, which was why you got stuck. People spent a good 20mins hunting for Marcus as to what their course of action should be, not realising he was trying to save himself & you. You woke up in medical feeling groggy. Desperately asking is Marcus was okay. He had been asked to go sort out the situation & therefore wasn’t there when you came round. He had hackers & blackmailers to trace.

However on Thursday at 2pm an envelope arrives in the lab on your desk. You open it casually as you chat to a colleague & then as you read it your eyes widen.

“What is it?” Jamie asks.

“I’ve been invited to a charity gala tonight, as apart of the heroics.” Your eyes re read it. “Must have been picked at random to go, but that is exciting, not that I have anything to wear”

“Of course you do” says Jamie. “& if not head to the costume repairs on the 5th floor, they have loads of outfits there that aren’t just latex”

4 hours later, after a trip to costumes & lava girl doing your make up, you arrive at the charity gala in a dark green just below the knee dress. It’s halter neck & backless & you hair is tied up in an elegant bun. The heels you can walk in, your face properly done & looking elegant. Security let you in after checking your invite & then you are hushed into a side room. As you step in there is Marcus. In full tux, black & sleek, perfectly shined shoes, crisp bow tie & hes just checking his hair in the mirror, he sees you in the reflection & he beams. Unable to hide how happy he is to see.

“Mr Moreno” he then replies with your name, waking across to you like he’s James Bond seducing a Bond girl. So suarve. He kiss on your cheek means it’s more than just the blush on your cheeks making you red.

“You look spectacular” he says & then offers you his arm.

“Why am I here Marcus?” You ask confused.

“You work to hard, & I needed a plus one so I thought this would make up for everything earlier in the week that I put you through.” he says & you link your arm with his. “& also an apology for not asking for your consent before I kissed you” you suddenly feel really warm. Remembering that kiss to calm you down & shut you up.

“It worked better than breathing Marcus, so no need to be sorry. It’s not every day I’m a damsel in distress & need a super hero to save me so thank you” you link your arm around his & smile & then you softly kiss his own cheek. He can’t hide his blushing with make up.

“You’ll be the death of me woman”

“Not aliens”

“Nah I can deal with them” you slowly both walk into the main room & both start to work the room initially together. Hearing lots of comments out of ear shot about who is Marcus’ new girl. After a while you split up, before meeting back to the dinner. Marcus looks exasperated as you take your seat next to him. His eyes darting all over the place.

“Everything okay Marcus”

“My speech isn’t in my suit” he’s looking panicked.

“You’ve got to give a speech”

“Yes the people who are putting on this charity gala, they contribute to our advanced tracking system, so I’m expected to say a few words.”

You see his hand twitching.

“How long til your speech” you slowly move your hand & start stroking his to calm him down.

“I’m up third out for four”

“Okay so why not talk about the people you’ve talked to today & why it’s important they are here. It will then feel more personal to a few of those people who then might make larger donations, & then just mention the main contributors” you can see his breathing calm down, realising that you are speaking sense.

“Why the hell are you not in pr & marketing?” Marcus ask as he sips some wine.

“Because I’m good at my job” you squeeze his hand “you got this Marcus I know you do, these people are just aliens in human form” you joke “& you can deal with them”.

“Your right you know” he then takes a deep breath & kisses the back of your hand. “Thank you”

Marcus delivers a wonderful personal speech, talking about how the charity has helped a few families here & jokes about the mayors office only after good pr before finalising the speech. Marcus does a big over the top sigh as he comes & sits back down next to you. You embrace & hug & look deeply into his eyes for a few seconds longer, both of you lost in the other. Only interrupted when the dinner arrives. Marcus is glad he is here as the meal is sublime.

As the charity auction starts Marcus looks at you. Soft expression on his face.
