The Doobie Brothers have added 11 more dates to their upcoming 50th anniversary tour.

The 50th anniversary tour launched last summer, even though it was originally scheduled to take place in 2020, but was delayed due to the pandemic. The 50th Anniversary Tour features Tom Johnston, Michael McDonald, Pat Simmons and John McFee performing together for the first time in more than 25 years. Johnston says in a statement, "We are excited to play more shows in 2022 and will be coming back around to Nashville to wrap things up which is fitting as that's where we first announced our 50th Anniversary Tour back in 2019."

Heart singer Ann Wilson has revealed that she wants to make another album with the band and has denied rumors of a dispute with her sister Nancy. Since Ann's husband was arrested during a Heart tour in 2016, the sisters have been pursuing solo careers. However, in a new interview with Rock Candy magazine, Ann said she wants to make another Heart album and there is no feud between her and Nancy. "It depends on the songs," she said. "The songs lead everything. And I'm writing songs again now. I don't know if they'll be for my solo thing or for Heart. But yes, I would like to make another Heart album." "Things happen in families," Ann explains. "And that was a really good example of something that happened within a family, and we worked it out. But the part that made it hard was that it happened in the public eye. If it had happened privately, we'd have got the family in a room and sat down and worked it out between us." Metallica have announced that they will donate $500,000 to World Central Kitchen to help feed Ukrainian refugees who fled the war. The donation is in addition to the rockers' recent $100,000 grant - with the goal of bringing that number to a total of $1 million over the next two months. The aid is being released through Metallica's charity foundation All Within My Hands, which has organized a number of fundraising events to raise money for Ukrainians. Through May 31, the Metallica.com store will feature exclusive merchandise for sale, and donate all proceeds to WCK. Andrew Cremeans has created a one-of-a-kind shirt piece for this campaign, and those who are interested can pre-order the shirt now. "We'll also have auctions and raffles, including the guitars James and Kirk will be playing the National Anthem on at Metallica Night with the San Francisco Giants on May 24," Metallica said in a statement. Biblical Hebrew Roots - hapaxes, other considerations

As noted in the post yesterday, a hapax is a word that is used only once in a text. There are (still sort-of) 917 of them where the root is a hapax by my count. They are hard to isolate though. Because if one excludes the names, a remaining root may be a hapax, a unique usage, but also doubling as a name elsewhere. This is the case with Shiloh. The same root is used once in Daniel. So I probably should restrict the definition of hapax to include the semantic domain. Then maybe my sets would not overlap or worse underlap.

There are also other forms of unique readings. Besides uniquely used roots, there are also uniquely used word forms, 19,772 of these, (if my query is correct) and there are also accidental hapaxes created by the translator when he or she uses a unique gloss in translation. I have created a few of these but I have tried to keep them to a minimum (except when I was being deliberately provocative or using word play). E.g., I was just looking at that pervasive word krm, utterly destroy or put to the ban. I also used the gloss mutilate only once (and never for any other root). See Lev 21:18. And krm also is used for the harvesting instrument, scythe. See Deut 16:9.

I also try to find, and I think I have always succeeded, a unique English gloss for each of the root hapaxes.

     Metallica’s second All Within My Hands Helping Hands Concert and Auction will be moving forward as the band’s first ever worldwide pay-per-view event. This special acoustic show benefitting the All Within My Hands foundation will stream live from Metallica HQ on Saturday, November 14th at 2:00pm Pacific.

    Ticket holders can enjoy multiple replays up to 48 hours from when they first start the stream. Further information on ticket sales, VIP packages, bundles etc. can be found at: 2nu.gs/Metallica. Ticket sales will directly benefit the foundation.

    Details of the AWMH Helping Hands auction items and experiences, as well as how to bid on them, will be made available closer to the November 14th date.

   All Within My Hands is a 501(c)3 non-profit foundation established in 2017 as a way for the Metallica family to give back to communities that have supported the band. Just this year, AWMH has donated $645,000 to COVID-19 related relief funds including Feeding America, Direct Relief, as well as to charities assisting those in the entertainment and hospitality industries suddenly without work. More recently the foundation donated $350,000 to aid those affected by the West Coast wildfires. Finally, the foundation’s Metallica Scholars Initiative is now in its second year, supported by a $1.5 million grant benefiting 15 community colleges across the country.

   Metallica and All Within My Hands are committed to running an organization of the highest integrity where expenses are kept to a minimum and are paid for entirely by the band, the board, and friends who have worked with the band over many years and are excited to help in this mission. As always, 100% of proceeds from this years Helping Hands event—tickets, fees and auction items—will go directly to help those in need, with Metallica and the foundation covering all production costs and expenses.

It was so awesome.

I know that, like every band, Metallica has its problems but damn: they do treat us well.

Like, when I read about the “fans’ wall” option I imagined... just a wall? AND INSTEAD. THE BEEHIVE CIRCLE!!!

That was genius. Bc it felt so immersive? And cozy? I especially loved that they let people scream and shout between songs, bc it felt more real like that, more like a concert, an exchage of energy.

And even if I would have loved a full time acoustic concert... you know what? I needed that.

I need to blast the fuck out of this fugue that this period put on me. I needed the raw, unapologetic energy.  (i.e. I had my headphones on bc here it’s night time, and my volume started at 18 and by Waste I had it to 30 and to MOP went to 54 dfjdhfskfhs. I litteraly stood up and raged through it all.)

And it seemed to me that... they kinda missed it too, yknow? And Metallica loves to not repeat itself, so it was very different to the Masonic one. And truly special! At least to me, eheh.

Total highlights for me:

-Turn the page, which, strange??? I’m not a big turn the page stan, I like the song all right but that’s it. But this version????? Holy CRAP. It was otherworldly! It was perfect and the keyboard on it???? Genius. Kirk first solo? NGHHHHH.

-CREEP?? H E L L O??????????? For the first seconds I was like “I’m so intrigued, I’m digging it, the bass is fenomenal but wtf is this?”. I did not recognize it at all. Then it hit me, HARD, and my jaw dropped. The atmosphere was totally different, it did not feel as the usual empowering, avenging song that makes you feel like an angel of death sent by the “chosen one”, but.... something more sinister, something unpredictable and calm. I am rambling but *moves hands* AWESOME, It was basically perfect and I know that if they will play it like that another time it will become a double slap on the face.

-The House of Rising Sun. Damn, when Metallica covers something they go all the way, uh? AND THEY REHARSED IT ONCE. Truly, I didn’t spent much time trying to predict what song would be chosen, but i really hoped for new covers. And this was a total banger. You don’t want me get going on this one, trust me.

-WASTING MY HATE AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA. Five notes in and i started jumping on my ass, screaming internally “LOAD, WE GOT SOMETHING FROM LOAD”. 110 would listen to again. Damn, can’t wait to buy the cd.

-Dead was a really really cool experiment, and I really liked that they put a lil piece of htsd in the show bc we still are in that era. I kinda have one or two things to say abt this one but first I wanna to listen to it again. Still, so INTRESTING.

aaaand i’m certainly missing something, but i did not want to stop looking at the screen to take notes or something, right? And I will surely watch it again in the next 4 days.
