Jason Todd swung a tire iron at Batman and now he's living in some billionaire's mansion. Go figure. He's still not sure if he can trust Bruce Wayne. But Jason does know how to take care of himself and the cut on his leg that's looking worse each day. He doesn't need any help...right?

Whumptober Day 13

Peeling the bandage off stung.

Jason barely swallowed his hiss as the adhesive pulled at his skin and the fine hairs on his calf. An angry red wound greeted him with no scabs in sight.

Shit. Shit. He didn’t need a stupid doctor to know this was bad. Jason buried his hands in his hair. If only he didn’t try and take that shortcut through the warehouse days ago. If only he’d left his flashlight on for a second longer and saw the jagged edge of metal sticking out. If only it wasn’t covered in rust and other unknown shit. What could he do now? What about washing it with soap? Would that help it heal or was it too late? Maybe pouring vodka on it? Some people (aka gang members he spied on once) did that in the Narrows. But where would he find any liquor? Shit, Mom would’ve known what to do.

Jason chewed on his lip. He could...he could try telling his new guardian. Bruce Wayne talked a good game about wanting to take care of him. But he was a billionaire. And Jason was a street kid who got caught boosting a vigilante’s tires then tried to brain him with a tire iron. This had to be one big practical joke. And if it wasn’t, being a pest the first week was a surefire way to land his ass back out on the streets or in a worse foster home.

Jason started digging through the cabinets in his (his!!) new fancy and fully stocked bathroom. There. Rubbing alcohol and another big band aid. He straddled the edge of the porcelain tub with his injured leg inside, stuffed the collar of his shirt into his mouth, and opened the bottle. His hand shook as he slowly tilted it, heart slamming so hard it made his shirt quiver. The anticipation was killing him. Fuck it. Closing his eyes, Jason tipped the entire bottle over, for once not caring how wasteful it was.

Fire blazed through his leg, stabbing straight into the bone itself. Tears fell from his screwed shut eyes and he bit down hard on the shirt to muffle his scream. The short but deep cut pulsed as he struggled to open the band aid and put it on with trembling fingers. The bathroom reeked of alcohol, leaving him lightheaded and dizzy with anxiety inducing memories. Jason turned on the bathtub and dumped a generous amount of body wash in, rinsing away evidence and flooding his nose with lemon...verbena? What the hell was that?

At least the throbbing was fading when he crawled into the giant four poster bed a few minutes later. See, Batman? He wouldn’t have to tell Bruce after all. Jason Todd could take care of himself.

now that i'm playing dragon age: veilguard i understand hbomberguy so much better. think i could probably do a 3.5 hours long video called "dragon age: the veilguard is FINE and here's why"

#the writing in dragon age has Always been a bit clunky it's part of the charm #but yes there are sections in DAV that made me go “oh nooo”#but no it isn't as bad as people say #the mechanics are fun idc. it's bad that my new laptop can run all of BG3 fine but becomes laggy as hell in any city location in DAV tho #companions r generally charming and they're all professionals so it makes sense they're less prone to big fights than say DAO morrigan #but yes i do miss having a bit more tension in the party sometimes #the character creator is great for dudes but yea it would probably b cool if it were possible to have curvier bodies for those who want tha #but no it isn't literally impossible to make good-looking rooks. it's quite easy actually #and like yeah you can't have wildly out there body types but it's pretty cool that you can be a geralt type a twink or chubby as a dude #(i play male characters and have only done the female cc once for a custom f!inquisitor so i have more experience w that one)#the qunari also look. fine? the antaam don't look too soft or anything so far #the majority of complaints against this game were stupid and not rooted in anything real #BUT!!! i don't love it #solas continues to be a highlight #lucanis is great so far and i love neve #neve's voice acting is amazing #she manages to make some very disappointing lines sound good #but..... i can't pretend the writing *isn't* awkward in places #d'meta's crossing stands out to me as a pretty bad case of overly direct storytelling #(spoilers) talking to the mayor was deeply disappointing! he just TOLD rook what he did and why. it felt so anticlimactic #especially bc the imagery in the village was striking and grotesque #but there didn't feel like there was any payoff #other sections have been great #but DAV just feels like it completely lacks subtlety at times #the other DA games haven't always been masters of show dont tell but this section felt like a first draft #like someone was working out the story and didn't have time to polish the script at all before the voice actors were called in #idk it really stands out to me as bad #also yeah it's noticeable that you don't really get to do evil things. at least not yet

with all these gaston crackships/rarepairs that are coming out lately it would be so fucking funny if he had a flig with all the main characters (ambar, nina, simon... hell luna too if you want) and they all know it except matteo

#mf would feel so betrayed once he finds out #and not because he's jealous or anything - or maybe yes (they kinda have a vibe between them if you get what i mean)#mainly because his best friend didn't tell him #gaston would 100% use “you didn't ask” with a shit-eating grin while shrugging his shoulder #he would have the time of his life making fun of matteo reaction lol #and matteo would also lowkey be insecure (understandable because gaston was probably a better boyfriend for all those people [real])#[from here on i'm gonna yap but like... YAP - get ready]#type of flings/situationships/whatever i think he had:#LUNA/GASTON : [barely a fling/ a kinda relationship (?)] - them just trying it out for the hell of it #they had a lot of fun and it strengthened their friendship #they never talk about it unless they're sure that they're by themselves #gaston sometimes reminiscences about it in front of others(to make luna panic/embarass)but in such a vague enough way that they don't get i #it always comes off as them play-fighting #it either happened before he and nina got together (which is what i'm running with for this post) or they did it after she left #because they were the closest to her and were the only people that could understand what it meant to lose nina #(luna also dated her in the past by this point)#GASTON/NINA: [literally canon and one of the main ships] so i don't have to explain it i guess #GASTON/SIMON: [was a “they were all in their feelings” during those moments - kind of deal]#that scene i reposted the other day is a good way to pinpoint when they started to actually eye eachothers /put a start to what they had #it ended two or three months later - don't know who put an end to it between them #but it wasn't a problem because they both had something else they wanted to focus on more - they're extremely chill about this #GASTON/AMBAR: [kinda the same - got to know eachother when they were kids and became extremely close (even tho it took A BIT since #even if gaston came from a good family ambar was still as standoffish as now (and also a bit shy even if she wouldn't admit it)]#gaston was the one that did the first step #at that point ambar actually never stopped to think about dating in general but especially him #but the idea of losing him as a friend for something so stupid as a relationship terrified her #he reassured her that whatever happened nothing between them would've changed #which was real but also not really #they ended up breaking up a year and a half later and became a bit awkward around eachothers for a bit (mostly because of ambar)#they're still cordial with eachothers

I was gonna skip reading the current event story with lucifer and gamigin since i wasnt really feeling it, but im glad i did! Its my fav event story now

Also watching michael being a lucifer fanatic was very interesting...like have we ever seen him happy about anything ever until that point???

Ah yes. I love drawing shang tsung all blushy and flustered. (Not easy but possible)

Shang basically rejuvenated and was gone for a while. I thought something bad happened to him. And was worried. Not noticing that he is not old man anymore. At least at the moment.

The sorcerer being all blushy at the fact of this sweet notion.

Also it's probably been a while since he's had to comfort someone like this. Hee hee. Poor shang. Its not the first time with me. Just the first time probably it would be super clingy and touchy touchy. Like full on hug and crying into his chest type of thing.
