I think the worst part of the books is how Kyoshi is like “I can’t believe Yun would do this” because neither did he. He never even for a moment considered he would ever be in the position to do something like that. Because he went from having a family, friends, and a purpose, to absolutely nothing.

Kyoshi didn’t believe Yun could do such a thing, because until the moment it happened, Yun didn’t know he would either.

Kyoshi novel voice comparison (Spoilers for Rise/Shadow of Kyoshi and Reckoning of Roku)

I found that Kyoshi's voice changes slightly depending on who's perspective it is in the books. So I gathered some clips to compare them cause I think it's fun and I just like Nancy Wu's voice :3c It goes:

Normal (sassy) Kyoshi from her perspective

Kyoshi in the Avatar State (not much changes tbh, but it's one of the special times the voice is changed in the text), also from her perspective

Kyoshi's voice from some NPC's perspective in SoK

Kyoshi's voice from Roku's perspective.

Personally I think her voice gets deeper the farther down the list it goes, which I think is interesting. Avatar state doesn't change that much, but it's still a lil' deeper imo. Her voice in Roku is totally understandable considering that's her adult form, while her novels she isn't even 18 yet.

I'll do Yangchen's next (since she has a voice role in SoK), but I gotta look at the text and try to pick out the more fun spoken lines she has. Partially cause I just want a highlight reel fkjalsfj

More especifc Kuruk's time and early Kyoshi's/""Yun's"" era, like what was the order of what sequence of events

Intil now i have that:

the poem to Hei-Ran happend before he met Ummi

considering he died some time before Rangi being born, thats would have mean Ummi probably meet his already in the very end of his life

And for what i remember Nyahitha was wayyy before that

The point until now is:

Ummi probably never met, or met like only once, Kuruk supposed companions

And i BET she and Nyahitha talk shit about them together

About Kyoshi's concept art

All the concept arts are beautiful, but two caught my attention for a special reason. I'm completely in love with arts number one and three, especially concept art 1, it's just amazing.💕

I can already see her like this in her training with Rangi.❤️🥰 "And I feel sick just imagining this happening"😭

I like to think the fox that helped them in the library episode was Kyoshi’s

It’d make sense why it’d disobey Wan Shi Tong’s hatred for his library being used for war in order to help the avatar; it’s previous companion

and as a spirit fox it probably also wouldn’t have died after her like other animal guides

Kelsang: spirits, she’s taller than me. She’s actually kind of scary now.

Kelsang had to have thought maybe she had those tall Air Nomad genes in her. If you can’t tell, I’m obsessed with Kyoshi being one of the tallest people around. And the tallest avatar. I like tall. Has a power to it.

EDIT EXTRA RAMBLING: since I am in fact obsessed with Kyoshi being the tallest and strongest (because tall and strong and sweet women are who I admire to be or something psychological maybe idk) I will point out Kyoshi was only 16 when Kelsang died so she literally wasn’t done growing. Many women grow until 18. Also, I’m mad that roku and stuff is always taller or the same as Kyoshi in the anime or in fan art. Like. I get a perfect line up look but get real. The boss bitch is taller and scarier than ROKU. And probably sweeter.
