So yesterday I went to an Avatar concert with my beloved and some friends. A live band performed the music while clips played on a huge screen. A title card would show what theme was coming up next. There was screaming and cheering for most of them but I feel like none of us were ready for when Iroh came on.

With a blank screen they simply played his dialogue, "You must never give in to despair. Allow yourself to slip down that road and you surrender to your lowest instincts. In the darkest times, hope is something you give yourself. That is the meaning of inner strength."

I was crying. My friends were crying. The audience was palpably struck by the sentiment and the energy in the room shifted.

We tried to compose ourselves as the music went on.

At the end the composer of all the Avatar music came out and led us in an encore performance of Secret Tunnel which was truly a gift.

Like y’all…it was SUCHH A FUCKING DREAM TO BE THERE!! ;DDDDD!! ❤️❤️ a whole-live ass orchestra JUST FOR AVATAR?! JUST FOR THIS SHOW THAT IVE BEEN SEEING ALL MY CHILDHOOD AND ADULTHOOD AND MY LIFE?! ;DDDD!! ❤️❤️too good to be true man holy SHIT LOOL!!

The audience reactions were amazing!! Every single thing they played, the audience went FUCKING WILD!! ;DDDDD!! ❤️❤️ they cried, they laughed, they screamed, IT WAS SOO MUCH FUCKJNG FUN!! ;DDDDD!! ❤️❤️ They cried at “Leaves From The Vine,” they laughed at p much everything funny LOOL!!, then shuddered at “Bloodbender” :(( it was SOO fucking amazing to watch it in a crowd. Like these are my PEOPLE. NEVER IN MY WILDEST DREAMS DID I EVER THINK THEYD DO AN AVATAR CONCERT?! ;DDDDD!! ❤️❤️ AND I WENT!! ;DDDD!! ❤️❤️

I highly recommend going!! Variety just announced 100 new cities/dates and ITS SOO FUCKING AWESOME!! ;DDDDD!! ❤️❤️ I highly recommend going IT WAS SUCH A DREAM COME TRUE AND IT WAA SOO FUCKING AWESOME!! ;DDDD!! ❤️❤️

I was able to go to the Avatar concert in London last night and it was such a fantastic experience. Incredible to hear a live orchestra play the soundtrack and if you get the opportunity to go to any of the upcoming shows I’d really recommend it. Bryan Konietzko and Jeremy Zuckerman spoke at the event as well! There were some moments I was fully crying my eyes out (namely Leaves From the Vine and Appa’s Lost Days…). I managed to get the special encore on film: SECRET TUNNEL!!!

The Avatar concert is coming to where I live this spring and I had told myself I wouldn't spend that much money... But. Maybe just a little treat for myself.

This is definitely making me want to go.

AVATAR IN CONCERT (premiere in London)

This was so so beautiful, I cried multiple times (just like everyone else I could see), we had Bryan Konietzko introducing it, Jeremy Zuckerman closing it, and a special extra song at the end!! I think that was the first time secret tunnel had been played by an orchestra and sung by hundreds of people at once (apart from that concert in the Toph comic lol)

Last night I got to attend "Avatar in Concert" which is where they have a professional orchestra play the music from The Last Airbender series live on stage while a tv screen projects images from the show.

The encore number showed a montage of inside jokes and really meaningful moments on the screen. Part of the montage was "first kisses." There was a decent amount of clapping when they showed the shot of Aang kissing Katara before the day of the black sun, then it immediately cuts to a shot of Katara and Zuko hugging and the concert hall ERUPTED with applause and cheers.

So last night I learned that the Zutara fan base is very much still alive, and that we are louder and more obnoxious than Kataang shippers. I will not apologize, I will not change.

Went to see Avatar In Concert last night.

A live orchestra playing the music of ATLA while you watch highlights from the show on a big screen, complete with vocalists and the traditional instruments used to create the original score. It's something I've dreamed of since I was a kid.

It was simply amazing. Not only the music and performances, but just being surrounded by people who love this story like I do.

I'm not going to spoil anything, but if you're planning to go when the concert is near you, do NOT bounce immediately after the finale. Stay. Applaud. It will be worth it, I promise.

You know I talk a lot of shit about the concept of not watching a show or abandoning a show because of the fandom.

But like I went to see Avatar the Last Airbender live at concert and god I had forgotten just how much I love that show.

I’d let my irritation with the fandom’s discourse allow me forget how much I love this show.

But my eyes are open now and by god I’ll never let them close again. Cause I love that show.
