I'm thinking of Ava as Archangel Michael.
Reya has just called her, to reveal the truth. She's not someone who got the Halo by accident. This has always been the plan. She's not even the Warrior Nun, she's a holy angel, General of the Heavenly Armies, and now, she must rise in glory.
Or, she's walking through the Halls of Heaven, for the "first" time. They're so foreign, yet so painfully familiar. With each breath she takes, reality sinks deeper into her very soul, bleeding into the marrow of her bone.
It beckons her, from the niche at the end of the Hall. A set of armour, and a sheathed sword. As she looks at them, her longing is unbearable. Every fiber of her being calls for them. Her past. And, her future.
She senses a burning in her upper back. Her wings refuse to be restrained any longer. She can not hide from her destiny. She can not run from herself.
Alternatively, this picture screams of her being Areala reborn, too. Maybe, she's on the Other Side, staring at an image of herself. Maybe, she's in some astral dreamscape, facing a manifestation/echo of her former incarnation.
P.S. - the book is significant, too, I'm just not yet sure how

Going from this X, I doubt Ava's Areala in AOA. She wasn't supposed to be. It's another story entirely... But, it's hard not to make her Areala. Because, when I make Ava Areala, I can give Areala a better fate. She just deserved so much more.
One may ask, give her a better fate how, by putting her back with her killer? Sort of. She and Adriel are pretty much soulmates. Maybe, they'll actually listen to each other when they get a second chance. Dying, as well as spending a millenium in prison, should make someone think, no?
Besides, her coming back was never about Adriel alone. It's about the Halo. It's about her sisters. It's about seizing her destiny back into her hands.
Yet again... It's hardly for AOA. Ava's arch is completely different in AOA.

Sitting on the sidelines, she watched the Firstborn Followers of the Fallen hand out pamphlets. Her eyesight noted how their eyes held no real life, and only dark malice. Possessed walking the streets and acting like Jehovah Witness'. This isn't good. VERY BAD! Saoirse crept along the edge of the alley, her eyes firm on the men as they disappeared into a strange temple. Opening her phone she snapped a picture, the strange bladed cross of Adriel sat atop it. "These fucks just moved into my home, is anyone dealing with them?" --- SPOILERS AHEAD! YES, Warrior Nun Season 2 came out and I binged it like the basic thirsty bitch I AM! Please note, I have a lot of solid criticism for this series and a lot of love for it. Please be aware, this TV Series is a strict departure from the kind of hypersexualized work of Ben Dunn, "Warrior Nun Areala". In that world, the Halo doesn't exist in the same way that the Nun in question (Shannon) is a reincarnation of the original Nun, Areala. In this story, Arela is a former pagan Valkyrie comes to serve the church. There's a lot more magick and devils in this story and not as much multiplanar science. First, I want to say that as we enter this season, Ava was her usual irritating self. I mean the girl was basically abused and killed for being disable as an orphan. Remember, she was treated as completely useless and was poisoned to death via an overdose. So when she got the Halo she went hogwild with all the power and ability to you know -walk.-. By now she's still being her reckless self, and starts to actually mature. The breakout of this particular season to me were Beatric, Superion and Camila. Yeah, when we finally get Yasmine into the mix I like how we have a Coptic Nun (who decided to drop a few drags on the British Colonization of Egypt) join the crew. The Ugly Adriel is one of the MOST abhorrently plot armor-filled villain I've seen since I watched WIthout a Trace. Seriously, that godkin should have been killed so many times and the fact he could figure shit out was just stupid. Near the end we got a good example of his power, but honestly these fights felt more like needless tension raising rather than threats. This is where seeing him doing more than offhanded plagues would have been kind of great. As you know, maybe a scene where he stares down a tank, or I dunno ends a war. Like seriously, I mean I get the catholic influences in this show. But there is far too much plot armor propping up the Firstborn, especially with how they treated Lillith. Oh, gods don't get me started on FUCKING LILLITH! Second, Lillith literally murders an entire crowd of the Firstborn fucks and then turns to the man later on. She breaks away after hearing of Mary's death and just -gives- up? Like I get that her mother is shitty and that we're trying to tie her to the demon in the comics (who is a villain daughter of the OG Lillith), but wasted arc. Seeing her as more of a neutral party rather than a simp for Adriel would have been awesome. Since she was already a pretty solid anti-heroine backstory since Season 1. So basically, the story here is just kind of filled with a lot of stakes and at times needless extension. Adriel spends most of the time being a fucking mouthpiece of his own rhetoric and his followers are mooks. The few who reveal themselves at the Conclave was nice touch. Finally, god Miguel was kind of cool, but he was basically a bomb sent by a god. That was his story, sure he introduce the anti-Adriel resistance, but his entire arc was just kind of blah. The Good Fuck, Beatrice is filled with such fucking useless lesbian energy. The entire build up is done in such a way, that I was honestly angry with Ava a lot. But, honestly, Ava is nice to have as a bi/pan figure as well. I had a lot of gay thoughts popping away, but I like Avatrice as a couple. Yeah, in the original season it seemed there was more chemistry with Mary. How she appeared to love Shannon though build up this relationship which seems to coalesce out of the Halo-Bearers with their sisters. Now, there is something to be said for how well acted Beatrice as a big sister is to Camila. What we see here though is the need to protect and care for someone in a supporting and romantic manner. Mary and Beatrice have a strong bond with the Warrior Nun. As Warrior Sisters they stand as a sort of right-hand and as a defender. Yes, the Halo Bearer's have vast supernatural powers, but they need someone to watch their back. This is made even more evident as it was Beatrice in Season 1 who conducted Ava's training. Being together in isolation after the awakening of Adriel and the bombing at the Vatican likely increased their dependence on one another. Her frustration and how she expresses it with Miguel's appearance and joining the team was well acted. Hell, I was so fucking happy when they kissed by the end! The End This series is not nearly as bad as Cursed, which was a -very fucking bad- fantasy series. One that had a bit of potential which ended up wasted! Because, we can't have Arthurian stuff that is kind of okay these days! Now that said, the CGI in this series is still pretty janky. Like, I feel like if Shadow & Bone or even Witcher can get an upgraded so can Warrior Nun. Now this was a series I wasn't sure was going to get renewed. I watched it when Summer 2020 came before I made my big watch of the first Saga's of One Piece. So when I saw a new season I was pleasantly surprised. I do find it really funny that netflix seems intent on placating the Queers with tossing us a bone of a few solid LGBT filled series. While still supporting trash human beings like I dunno, David Chapelle? Who the fuck knows in this case. I was happy to watch this series, and when Adriel was torn apart all I could say was "Took way too damn long!" Hottakes: I watched this series at the end of a long day and in between assistance my sibling with her baby. Plus, I had my teeth drilled because of a cavity so I was pretty damn high as balls. I spent more time analyzing the series and think it over the night after I watched it. So sadly unlike the rest of my reviews I don't have any really hottakes for this one. I will say I want to see some good fics using this verse for you know, better writing!

I am honestly, sincerely so damn obsessed with the concept of Ava being reincarnated Areala.
And not only because it lets me ship Avadriel while giving Adreala their happy ending.
The vision in S1 finale was the spark for me. But, Adriel is right, they are so similar. They both got the Halo unwillingly, and were led by fate down the path of glory and martyrdom (even though Areala has walked it before, being a Templar). They both are great leaders to whom, nothing is more important than her sisters.
If Ava were Areala reborn, she would literally be the Alpha and Omega of the OCS (the Beginning and the End, you filthy-minded...). My first thought was, she wanted to get back what is hers - the Halo, her sisters, Adriel... And she did. But, it's much deeper than that. The Halo called for her. For all these centuries, it clawed at the back of her mind, crying out to her through the realms. It considers her it's one true bearer. In the end, she could no longer stand it. And even less, she could stand to let more of her sisters die needlessly. Being the Warrior Nun was her cross, no one else's. The lives of the OCS might be expendable to the Church, but not to her. So, with Reya's blessing, she returned to Earth as an innocent child, knowing too well what pain she was to suffer before she can reunite with the Halo and rise again (as she must become a martyr again).
In my WIP, she couldn't even be dissuaded by the pleas of her own son. They were to meet again after all, she believed it firmly. She had raised a great man, so she trusted he will be fine.
Not to mention, in one of my AU's, it opens the possibility for Ava to merge with the Halo, and morph into an angel (something that only happened to Enoch before).

Me: I hate the tragic Starcrossed Lovers trope
Also me: *ships Adriel and Areala*
Well, but that's partially why I made up the "Ava is Areala's reincarnation" idea

If Ava were reincarnated Areala, I think at first, she would wonder what in Hell was wrong with her past self. What could she have ever seen in Adriel?.. Then, she would become furious with him. He ruined everything they had. Everything they could have had. He betrayed their love, forcing her to to butcher her own heart.
Yet eventually, the idea of trying again would grow on her. Her longing for him is too deep, ever since she remembered. They both have a second chance, and they must not waste it.

Ava and Ariane. Originally as an illustration for Age of Angels, but, an idyllic scene isn't exactly what's supposed to happen. I hardly wish to spoil the story. At the same time, I'd need to warn people in the tags, anyway - there's an attempted fetal abduction. Ava manages to keep herself safe, until Adriel comes to her rescue with the OCS. Still, she goes into labor a month early, before she can reach a safe environment.
Maybe, the picture can represent the feeling of Ava at last holding Ariane in her arms, and knowing her daughter is okay.
Honestly, this better shows what I have in mind for the Ava is reincarnated Areala AU, or the Biblical AU. I mean, Michael the Archangel having a child with the Antichrist? Either a stroke of political genius, or sure way to end up on Dr. Phil.
I used a screencap from Medici for a reference. I like to think of Ava and Adriel as ushering in a new Renaissance. I even had the theme song in my mind.

A concept I'm obsessed with: Ava merging with the Halo, and transforming into an angel. It drives her dangerously close to madness. All her life, she'd been a ghost, forsaken by the world, trapped within walls and forced to haunt her own life. But, at last - after coming back from the dead, no less - she finally becomes secure in her identity. She has friends, a family, people she loves, and who love her. Only for it to be shattered, again. Only to find out she's someone else, something else.
Her transformation is not easy. She burns, alive, every cell in her body aflame. Her wings tear mercilessly through her flesh, lacing the ground beneath in her blood. Her mind, her very essence, shatters, only to coagulate again.
She's lost again. She'd have such a hard time embracing her divine nature, she'd curse her wings. She wanted nothing to do with divinity, only to become a part of it. She would embrace her heavenly power, eventually. In the end, her wings do stretch proudly into the Sun, instead of weighting her down. But, she'll walk through fire until she reaches such a point.

The "Ava is reincarnated Areala" and "Ava is Archangel Michael" AUs certainly have one thing in common - the utter bewilderment of anyone who knew her previous incarnation once they hear her curse.

I ship Avadriel, yet Ava is one woman he flirts the least with (except Reya... who I theorize is his mom anyway). Even before duelling her, he looks at her like one would at a petulant child.
Tumblr media
I mean, he shares a moment with Camilla. Nothing wrong with Camilla, she just... Looks like a kid. And, she's half his size. Though apparently, she's into tall ones, so that would hardly be a problem...
I don't ship Adriel and Camilla, I merely recognize the moment.

What's happening here.

They seem one hair away from getting discovered hatefucking. 300 sequel style.
It's in the way she challenges him while staring at him through her lashes. The way he bares his teeth, looking her up and down. And, what's with the "come home to me, my little warrior"? I think one moment, they both really wanted each other. Without clothes.
Eh, to Hell with it. Lilith mentioned Adriel liked Ava. I can interpret that however I want. Besides, she reminds him of Areala, who, I think, he's hung up on. In some of my ideas, she's even the reincarnation of Areala. For Avadriel reasons.

The most insane Warrior Nun pairing ever to grace my mind? Lilith/Reya. I have no idea why. I was probably thinking where to put Lilith in an Avadriel situation.
Maybe Lilith was really mad Ava "stole" Adriel, so she barged into the Other Realm to... pin down God.
Maybe then both of them showed up at Adriel's cathedral.
-
Lilith: guess what bastard, I fucked your mom.
Reya: I haven't had such a great time ever since you were conceived, son~
Adriel: MOTHER PLEASE STOP 😨😬
Ava: *laughing in the background*
-
Or maybe it's normal, Lilith went to the Other Realm for answers (or something), and they liked each other.
It's really among Reya, (my OC) Adriel's sister, or (my OC) Adriel and Areala's son. In the version where Ava is reincarnated Areala, she would have such a great time reminding Lilith she's her mother-in-law.
I really prefer Lilith/Therion or Lilith/Balthazar, Reya's someone I find difficult to imagine in romantic situations. My headcanon is, she had a husband, his name was... Kronos (obviously), he started causing trouble, so she killed him, and used his organs for her creation projects. Made Tarasks out of his teeth for example.

Warning: NSFW, mentions of gore
I did not need any more Warrior Nun ideas/WIPs, but here we are. I recently thought of an AU where Adriel is hermaphroditic. He's still well, a he, it doesn't impact his appearance nor identity, but he does have a functioning set of female sexual organs. He devoured his twin sister in the womb, of course he did. He wanted to be the only child.
Oh, and keep in mind, it's one AU, not a general headcanon of mine. Now I also need a tag for it or something, but, the idea is only a number for now.
His lady friends (Lilith, Areala, or Ava) can pick whether they're more in the mood for a sword, or a sheath, if you know what I mean. He'd let his girfriends have his pussy whenever, as long as he gets to fuck them in return. I don't think Areala would care too much, she's straight. Maybe, she'd touch him there simply out of curiosity. I don't know about Lilith, but Ava would definitely like it.
It's probably another way of mine to knock him up, honestly. Mind you, there's two WIPs containing it when he's biologically male only. In this one, he'd probably convince Areala to help him catch a tarask, cut off it's testicles, and impregnate himself with a hybrid. His mom would not be happy (mainly because it's insane, but she'd take her grandchild when Adriel get imprisoned). Oh, and of course Adriel would still knock up Areala the usual way. That doesn't change about him, either. Later, he'd convince Ava to do the same thing. No, he can't just do IVF if he wants to carry like a normal person.
Why would Adriel want to impregnate himself in any version? Well, because he wants to be God (create life/new being), and because he likes attention.
I guess I have to create an OC for the child of Adreala carried by Adriel now. I think she'll be named Ishtar, to stay with Mesopothamian names. With Ava, it would just be Selene.
In Age of Angels, Adriel is away when Ava gives birth (that's what I'm planning, anyway). He has to kill people who tried to hurt her (I don't want to spoil too much). The OCS bring her to safety, and she has the baby under their watch, cared for by Reya. Then, he returns. I'm thinking this could have the reverse, Ava tells the OCS to protect Adriel, goes off to kill whoever threatened them both, and he goes into labor. He could have a placental abruption to raise the stakes... If the scene somewhat reminds you of Medici S3, it's what inspired me.
Yes, I wonder what's wrong with me too, and why do I think of so many different ways of having my favorite characters almost bleed to death.
Why would Adriel want to impregnate himself in any version? Well, because he wants to be God, and because he likes attention.
I think Ava would also be reincarnated Areala in this. So, there's more drama. With bitter, angry Ishtar, and Balthazar.
Lilith/Ishtar?.. Before Selene, they're the only Tarask hybrids in existence. Or maybe, I should stick with Lilith/Therion (Adriel's older sister, whom he didn't get to devour, and who's her pairing in Age of Angels).
P.S. - I'm avoiding the term "intersex" on purpose. Adriel would think it's stupid. In his realm, the word "hermaphrodite" has no negative connotation.
