CONCORDIANS - Rick Owens Fall/Winter 2025 📍Palais de Tokyo, Paris

In an industry that thrives on constant reinvention, Rick Owens stands as a rare force of consistency. While other houses chase the pendulum swing of fashion—Owens remains unbothered. Time and time again, he has proven his work is not dictated by trend cycles but by an evolving design philosophy. From the beginning of his career, he has championed a distinctive silhouette—one that balances the elongated and the exaggerated, the structured and the fluid.

Consistency in a Trend-Obsessed Industry

His skinny pants, often paired with heavy platform boots and sharply tailored outerwear, are not a passing fad but a design signature. Rather than reintroducing skinny silhouettes, the CONCORDIANS collection sharpens them, reworks their proportions, and strengthens their presence. Owens isn’t reviving a trend; he’s refining a legacy.

A Designer Who Builds Worlds, Not Trends

There’s a fine line between being consistent and being repetitive, and Owens walks it masterfully. Each season, familiar shapes return but in new materials and treatments, from glossy leathers to sheer industrial fabrics. The same core design, but always with a new perspective. Owens’ language is distinct, personal, and unshaken by the demands of mainstream fashion.

His consistency is his strength, not a limitation.

Collection "The Day Today"

This isn't the whole collection; these are just my favorites that stand out. The opening fit being a long white slouched tailored blazer with a shiny like "pink guy" white morphsuit and inflated platform sneakers. I felt the sense that fashion sometimes parody's itself. Then I saw the same white morphsuit fashioned with what looked like a stapled-on sea green, pin striped button down hanging from the model's front and I giggled.

Combined with the Blunt cut bangs and red lips for all the models, the more I scrolled each fit, the more the Regine George voice whispered "Corporate Clowns.". 

Which then made me think of how we're all little fools playing the game of capitalism, influenced and conditioned to dance for Blackrock Tower. Poor little corporate fools, they're really buying into the game. Anyhow, whether the designer intended it or not, the message was heard. I believe these fits would be perfect for a campy brave new world series. 

The inspo does say Jester, and with the rise of TikTok star Monstra. Please your stupid rave about how clowning was a thing before tiktok blah blah blah if your not mentioning Cepillín in your know-it-all; it really doesn't matter or whatever. I think the less niche public is looking for some fun in the culture. This collection is cute with it's stars, wide pants and inflated soles. Comes in new and Influential for the subculture of clownery.
