LMAOO itās so funny how both Rin and sae have the same number of letters in their name the censoring can work both ways
AHAHAH you fr just get possessed and channel the energy instead of kaneshiro or kiyora itās aiku now maybe thatās why you have crazy rizz too
IM CRYING the way the TikTok is so specific and fits perfectly how did you just have that on hand (ig itās a sign pursuit truly meant to be)
SHOELIVER STOP why did i imagine a shoe and a liver HSHSSHSH BUT YES THATS THE ULTIMATE NAME
Wait spewpa fits so well another pokemon pairing Wā¦Iāve also never watched either series I just know people memeing about it LMAOO BUT YEAH from what Iāve seen itās just everyoneās kids THE WEDDING SCENE IS CRAZY no because the brides side is STACKED (Barouās soul descends from the sky to shed some tears /j) omg Charles DOES give the bug kid energy guysā¦
I LOVE MIKAGES MUSTACHE LMFAOO the houndoom arcanine fusion is so funny itās giving digimon (I think) you should just add a red noodle in the bgā¦.one big squiggleā¦.modern contemporary art weāll know that it represents her red gyarados as well as the red string of fate tying them all together (insert the akshually nerd meme here)
THE DIAGRAMS the way that itās all in cursive too has me sending because reading āfuckass butler codedā in cursive the vibes have me crying I love it though itās so iconic (Iām ngl though my eyes moved too fast and I read that as butter at first so I was like huhā¦.? Now imagine Karasu in one of those ridiculous Halloween outfits and heās just a stick of butter with a hole for his face and his arms out on the side) ninja wannabe otoya is so real but the way that he makes Karasu carry all his shit is giving when a girl tells her man to carry her purse and bags LMFAOAOA long coat Karasu >>>> ok imagine his coattails are actually kinda shaped like wings though omg the bird motif goes hard I know some people donāt like long coats generally but I think it looks soooo good on him!! Wait ok Iām imagining he wears some like button up under the coat imagine him with rolled up sleeves and the glovesā¦..karasu the man you areā¦.ok but i fr love the diagrams if you ever make more do showā¦
Side stories guys side storiesā¦imagine you sandwich them between arcs like how they do beach episodes and fillers guys can someone actually pitch this to an animation studio (not eight bit) the mc slander is CRAZY LMAOO I love that dynamic to the reader and co group
Otoya acts cool but heās so be fangirling over that like you know that one face he makes where heās like happy/content and his eyes kinda turn into rectangles/lines and heās throwing a like surfer hand thing (WOW this is why I donāt write) or like when animeās add the like shoujo pink bright sparkly flower fx yeah thatās what Iām imagining but CRYING I THINK SO?? Prince being like wow Karasu youāre pretty strong! I immediately started playing the Justin Bieber that should be me audio in my mind congrats youāre now forever associated with him
LMAOO considering that even kaneshiro gave Barou some crack moments (maid Barou) id agree Barou and crack work so well im so excited to read about the goofy shenanigans im prepared to fr laugh my ass off
WAIT THE BUILD ME A PKMN TEAM IS GENIUS I gotta go brush up on my dex knowledge know and get prepared pursuit really opening up all these opportunities and ideas
Thatās fr me anytime I use a non auto saving software like Iāll move my cursor an inch to the left and press save (Karasu over Isagi any day straight facts)
Wait no because I NEVER see Reo hate I actually usually only see Reo defenders/glazers and they like fully blame Nagi for EVERYTHING and Iām like are we gonna ignore the toothbrush scene /hj (I thought it was funny for comedic effect but people also take it way too seriously but also the dependency goes crazy) and fr!! Actually I think the sub idea is pretty good the copy ability reminds me of a character from Kurokoās basketball whoās really good but not number one because of the limitations the copy has (heās able to copy 100% but only for a limited time because stamina energy typical sports stuff) but I agree Nagi being a miracle is kinda his brandā¦.
IM CRYING THE NAGI TIKTOK your fyp is actually insane ok but glad it didnāt delete the entire thing wait im gonna do a wc of this to see how long our responses usually are this oneās 797 words counting āareā as the end sooooo
LMAOOO Barouās one insecurity is his tiny ass nose /j lowk I kinda like how ironic it is like youāve got big angry ripped man with a cute little nose
- Karasu anon
LMAOO NO LITERALLY like it could really be either one but i feel like i tend to talk abt them very differently so even through the censor itās kind of obvious?? like rin i at least acknowledge that heās pretty and iād like him more if he werenāt popular but saeā¦my opp fr /j /j sae fans donāt hate me
no because thatās literally how it feels like people will ask me for writing tips and iāll just be like i wish i could help but my process is just be chronically online -> get inspo from a random tik tok audio -> get possessed by the character iām writing for -> end up with a fully formed fic a few hours/days/weeks later LMAOAOAO it just happens
THE TIK TOK HAD ME CRYINGGG i saw it and was immediately like omg pursuit reoy/nā¦pursuit references are everywhere itās a sign from the universe that it needs to happen fr!!
shoeliver best duo and HAHA no because that lowkey fitsā¦i know in hindi itās a common thing for momās to threat to throw a shoe at their kids when theyāre mad (it sounds better in hindi i fear) which lowkey is giving barou??? and liver -> lover and aiku is a lover of many women fr
CHARLES THE BUG KID OF ALL TIME the wedding would be so crazy imagine nagiy/nās son looking at kiyora like ātwin š where have you been āļøā honestly that mixture of personalities in one room is just crazy workā¦why not throw in grandpa chris prince sponsoring the wedding while weāre at it /hj HAHAAH grandpa lavinho as the djā¦grandpa noel noa the officiantā¦grandpa snuffy the only one who doesnāt get drunk and helps clean upā¦ššš
the funniest thing is mikage doesnāt even have a mustache like that in canon?? like he has slight stubble but he was giving too many aiku vibes so i decided to drip him out and give him the full villain stache FBXJSJSH omg gyarados as nagi and readerās red thread youāre cooking hereā¦nah because we were talking abt how chaotic the nagiy/n daughter + charles wedding would be imagine the tullireo and nagiy/n weddings absolutely INSANE work šØ
okay because hear me out maybe when heās just training karasu takes the coat off and rolls the sleeves of his shirt up to his elbows and undoes the top couple of buttons of his shirt 𤤠i have a very specific vision of him post-training with reader sitting on a log or smth and heās slightly sweaty (enough that his hair is just a bit messy but not enough that heās gross yk) and he has the gloves on and his fletchling is sitting on his right forearm and heās scratching it for doing a good job KFHCISJS KARASUUU we mustnāt foldā¦nah because why are both of readerās brother figured such baddies bro forget being y/n and getting w nagi i need aegislash to isekai me in there so i can get with her brothers ā¼ļø /hj
nah because get pursuit to pokĆ©mon studios fr the plot goes so crazy iād single-handedly revive the anime with it (jk or am i??) and yes i think thatās the plan!! like toss in the side stories in between interconnected arcs and relate them to the previous arc (so not after every arc but for example after the arcs where reader and co meet up and where they meet manshine trio there can be a mini side story of nagi getting his growlithe or smth)
PLEASEEE THE SHOUJO FLOWERS meanwhile otoyaās wearing his all black emo coded fit the duality >>> literally chris prince sees karasuās talonflame and as the fire type elite four member heās like āwow thatās a great pokĆ©mon you take great care of itā and karasuās like āheh thanks man š
ā maybe this is what inspires otoya to sign up for the chris prince scam egg gift program that gets him his ninetales HFJSDKSJ
barou is so fun because you can see him in a more serious role like pursuit but he also works well in a crack situation!! heās such a versatile character we love him for thatā¦like for example shidou and aiku i would mostly only write in those lighter situations whereas almost anything i do with nagi ends up leaning towards more serious just because IāM serious abt him (jkjk) barou can do it all thatās why we must stan
RIGHT I THINK IT COULD BE REALLY FUN AS AN OPTION iāll def see if i can think of anything else but this is def a strong contender!!
THATāS WHAT IāM SAYINGGG all i see are reo and chigiri fans slamming on nagi where are the mysterious nagi fans that hate on reo or donāt acknowledge chigiri??? maybe itās a twitter thing but all iām seeing are nagi haters nowadays š tbh i think thatās another reason i forgot i liked chigiri HDKSDK his stans are crazyyyy either they overly feminize him, gas him up toooo much at the expense of every other character (yes he consistently slays but at the end of the day when things are said and done i donāt think he can compete with a fully motivated/unlocked nagi SORRY), or both š REMIND ME WHO GOT REPLACED IN THE U20 MATCH š¤š¤š¤š¤ all jokes ofc i do love chigiri and yes heās currently carrying manshine but i thought we all agreed that this is just a character development arc for nagiā¦anywaysā¦
PLS THE TIK TOK WAS SO GOOD sometimes you just have to laugh š and speaking of tik toks i found another barou edit hehe the intro is wild i lowkey lost it at the spongebob JFDJSKA also iām sorry i donāt have any other friends into bllk so you get all of my silly videos HAHAAH
LMAOO no i agree itās very cute it fits his off field personality!! his isnāt as tiny as karasuās in the trailer either omg karasuās is so tinyā¦not in a bad way though i kind of love it i think itās adorableā¦anyways i think iām the only person whoās not wigging out over the trailer literally everywhere i go itās just people being insane over it like yāall PLEASE relax i think we will be okay!!

So, letās talk comics again.
Previously, I showed off the transition between seasons 1 and 2, and how it cut off about three quarters of 01 content.Ā
(Also, since that cover was scanned, it has come apart from the rest of the book, and now I have two halves of cover for this comic. Alas.)
The comic series for 02 must have been handled by different people, because itās ever so slightly different to the anime. But, uh, the quality is about the same as before.
This is a cute detail to include, even if the scene that this is from didnāt appear in the comic. You can see that itās the actual photo that was taken, with everyone staring at the egg! How nice.
TK, Kari and, weirdly, Izzy are missing from this. Iād chalk it up to all three of them showing up in this story, but Tai does too, so who fuckin knows.
This is their first appearance, no scene of TK and Davis or anything. Of note is that Kari doesnāt insult Davis, maybe heās less of a douche in this version. Also:Ā āfootballā, not soccer. Different markets, I suppose, but I know that we call it soccer here in New Zealand, so????
āYOUR BROTHER IS AWESOME AND I WANNA BE HIMā
Davis Motomiya: Disaster Bi.
Oooo, an almost swear?Ā āOh my Godā seems a bit risky for a kidās comic.
This art style is adorable! Much better than the 01 version, even though they appear in the SAME COMIC.
BELIEVEABLE DIALOGUE. Although hey, thereās aĀ ādamnā there! They must have had their big boy pants on for this translation or something?
I really likeĀ āUH OHā as a sound effect.
(...ignore that spot above Kariās dialogue there, it doesnāt seem to be on the actual comic so it must have been a scanning oopsie.)
Hereās these guysā introduction! Why is Cody there? Who knows!
Also I was wrong, this mention of Izzy is his onlyĀ āappearanceā in this one, so why didnāt he get to be in the age-up panel up there? How rude.
(He appears in the next one, so they werenāt going for anyĀ āooo what does IZZY look like!ā suspense kinda thing. They were just bullying the poor kid.)
Hey look, a panel from the show! I donāt think that one actually shows up in this episode, though, weirdly.
Yolei why are you reading someone elseās email? Rude.
The dialogue immediately before this is Kari sayingĀ āNot all of us can go!ā and then this happens, immediately proving her wrong. This version of the story just utterly blitzes through the plot points, doesnāt it? No hesitation, just action. It kinda takes the charm out of it a bit?
Not entirely,
but a little bit.
Now, I say that, and then I have to present to you my absolute favourite panel from this mess.
...I
Iām so glad I took a break between the last comic and this, in retrospect, because it means that I got to have the last avatar up for a while before I changed it to this. ITāS TOO PERFECT I LOVE IT
The egg is just on a fucking path, I guess. Why not?!
...
Well, thatās another strong contender.
Davis inherently understanding this all notwithstanding, this sequence never fails to crack me up. What was your thought process here, Davis? Why the sassy? Why did fear not happen? Who are you???
Now, you may have noticed some sequence breaking here - by this point in the episode, we should have our little blue friend by now. This is the biggest difference between the two versions.
In the anime, they discuss the egg a bit, try to lift it, and Davis succeeds. Veemon is born, they throw around some introductions, and then Monochromon shows up and ruins their day.Ā
In this version...
...this happens, somehow.
I donāt understand
THERE HE IS I LOVE HIM
...and then his birthday is IMMEDIATELY RUINED.
HOW IS THIS THE FUNNIEST THING EVER
I just... I donāt know what to say that could add to this situation. This is the funniest damn thing to ever happen and thereās nothing that I can say that could make it funnier. Between every expression that Davis makes, the fact that they forget that theyāre in mortal peril because a little blue man appeared, poor Veemonās triumphant debut being interrupted and losing all of his momentum, the fact that you can hear the nonexistant music grind to a halt for this one moment, and the fact that even the Digimon Emperor and Monochromon are given pause... fucking hell this is my favourite moment.
āim 12 seconds old and what is thisā
dshgkjhdjl Veemon you absolute fuckup. Never change.
Thereās a minor plot hole in the dub, where Davis shoutsĀ āDigi-Armour Energiseā without knowing that phrase, the second episode confirming that they have to shout that and Davis didnāt just make it up. In the original version, Veemon tells him to shout it, but his line was changed for the dub. Interestingly enough:
Itās preserved in this version! Along with the basics of the line that they changed it to in the dub! Weird. Were they going off the original script, or was there someone on the writing team who noticed that?
The fight goes slightly differently, but the basics are the same.
This panel is cool as fuck, tho.
You know what? I am ready for a new adventure. Letās do it.
(Does Davis have a tear in his eye there? CUTE)

Okay so I've been playing Star Rail and I'm gonna do a lil amateur review because I do that sometimes
Here's my take
1. I like it. I got it for pc and it's fun when I can play it.
More under the cut
2. It is free to play with micro transactions, however I've not spent any money on it and I find it quite playable and easy to get into. That being said, I started with a lot of free stuff from starting so early and codes, so my experience may have differed if I started later.
3. It's a turned based RPG akin to JRPGs like Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Persona 5, etc, but a little easier to comprehend combat wise
4. Story and setting so far is something sort of like a mix of Star Ocean- specifically 4 with the planet hopping- or Rogue Galaxy, with... well, a LOT of mystic, techno, scifi, and religious babble. Enjoyable tho. I love space trains so much. It's dumb but classy. There's also a LOT of optional lore you can collect and read to really help you get immersed if that's your thing, and characters will have a lot of dialogue to give you more world building lore too. That being said, they do kinda just toss you into the ocean with really complex shit right out the gate with no vuild up- I've been told that having SOME knowledge of the Honkai Impact series can build upon what's given, but it's not entirely necessary.
5. Graphics are great, I like the art style and how polished everything looks. Art style works for the game and it looks gorgeous. I do think the NPCs kinda look plain, but that's about expected.
6. Music is passable. Not really finding any ear worms just yet, though. The summoning music and the train music are great though.
7. It might be me and my somewhat shit connection, but I experience lag and disconnection sometimes. This can get pretty frustrating
8. Characters are fun and have fun dynamics with each other. I already dig The Trailblazer, Dan Hung, and March 7th's dynamic- I will say, wtf is this name? Like I know why, but still, not just March, March 7th specifically is her name. Is her full name Saturday, March 7th, 5023 AD?
9. Voice acting is... decent enough. I play English dub because I have reading difficulties due to unmedicated ADHD, before anyone starts screaming at me to change languages. There's some strange takes or line reads sometimes, sometimes the voice will read something different from the text, and there's a couple of voices I wish would just sound... different. But the majority is passable to really good. I've also heard some unexpected voices- you could say they are TRASH, but I find them TASTEful.
10. Character design is pretty fun imo- definitely a bit of Genshin style, but it is by the same people so you kind of expect that. But they're fun to look at, have fun weapons and moves, and have great art. My one complaint would be similar builds and designs for some characters, but that's minor and also expected. But I will say, I do prefer a good anime style over indie cartoon or realistic style, so to me I think it's great.
11. The menus are... very complex. Easy to lose track and get lost in. I swear the pause menu rearranges every time I open it.
12. It shouldn't need saying, but: It's not Genshin Impact- that's fine actually. In fact it's great, turn based rpgs are really fun, especially JRPG styled, which i like to play (Dragon Quest 11, Digimon Cyber Sleuth, Persona 5, PokƩmon, etc). While I do like exploring open worlds and having a lot of freedom and real time fighting, sometimes it's nice to have a simpler point A to point B system with smaller maps, and especially nice to have auto battle. There's a bit of carry over from Genshin, but i think it works for what's given. I do miss my emergency fo- I mean, my adorable best friend Paimon, but she and all my other Genshins are Impacting in the other game while I Rail some Sta- wait I'm not finishing that sentence.
13. It is gacha. You kind of expect it- some people won't like it, I kinda like it to some degree, but I do got issues. Basically watch your spending- again, I haven't felt the need to, unlike some games that feel like you have to to get anything done. But it definitely would help to speed things along if i were. When you get a good character, it's a nice feeling for me, personally. That being said they do give you 3 pretty good ones right out the gate, and you do gather in game materials to help you summon at a fair pace anyway, so you're rolling decently enough to get something out of it.
Overall an 8/10 so far. I wanna keep playing, but unfortunately this damn meat mech that is my wretched bodily prison of my soul requires sleep, and I have things I have to do.

(tw: mention of anxietyāsorry, i'm on mobile and i can't find the read more somehow...)
hi there. umm, not really sure how to put it but... i got stuck in a toxic office life. i woke up everyday crying on my bed and kitchen while making breakfast, and feeling afraid to start the day... then working in an auto-pilot mode from 9am until 9pm (sometimes 10pm... last friday was 11pm). my adaptation process is a mess and now more than half of my department will resign, including my manager. such a red flag situation i'm stuck in.
that's why you probably see me less. i'm sorry i haven't been able to enjoy all the digimon contents lately (i can't even set up my queue) and i know i have some questions on my mailbox that i haven't replied yet. i am honestly too tired to interact with anyone although i know for sure that i need help.
enlightenmonth? i wrote some already, don't worry. can't promise you i can read everything at instance, but i'll figure a way out to use this as a way of relaxation. had a talk with the mother this morning that i should find something else to delve in; someting that i really like (for example, writing) since i can't seem to enjoy my job.
i hope your day is better than mine.
stay safe, stay sane š

CanvasWatches:Ā Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll
Didnāt expect to return to this world, but I am happy to see it again. Itās important to consume media that makes you want to be a better storyteller. Keeps you humble while keeping the creative fire lit.
Like a well tended cooking fire.
Perhaps I need to take inspiration from Violet Evergarden: Eternity and the Auto Memory Doll, and focus more on character exploration and dialogue in the major project I keep stalling on. The āProtagonist meets someone and they talkā format is how I got through that one near-notable fanfiction I wrote until I actually figured out a plot.
The Violet Evergarden movie felt like two episodes of the series put together. An arc that couldāve fit easily into the television broadcast without missing a step. Which is what I wanted: more gentle vignettes in a beautiful world.
Violet herself makes a great supporting character. The stories are at their best when itās more about the client than Violet. Violetās a character in her epilogue: a former soldier who found someone who believed in her, lost him, and reached the end of the war in need of purpose, which she ultimately found as a scribe and courier company worker. Her love was found and lost before she truly understood what love even was, and the actionās over.
Which is part of why the story appeals to me. Thereās a certain satisfaction in watching life go on after the life-defining events are over.
In a turn, the first story of the film positions Violet as the teacher introducing Amy/Isabella to a society after emerging from war times, paying forward the charity given to Violet when she was an adrift war orphan with medical problems.
Isabella is attending a finishing school for young women waiting to be married off. Sheās uneasy around her classmates, as Isabella York is an identity given to Amy Bartlett, a homeless girl who was barely scraping by attempting to take care of a younger girl sheād adopted as her sister when a noble man appears to adopt Amy[1] with the promise of arranging care for the adopted sister, Taylor.
Now as Isabella York, the girl is first resentful of the prim and proper Violet Evergarden, keeping her at armās length. However, as Violet assists Isabella in her education, the two bond through various ship teases, and Violetās method of polite bluntness helps Isabella bridge the gap with her classmates, and eventually Isabella trusts Violet enough to share her backstory and request a letter be written and delivered to Taylor. Violet happily obliges, and also dances with Isabella at the debutanteās graduation.
Because Kyoto Animation has found their niche in winks to Yuri fanbases, I guess.
Job complete, Violet leaves as Isabella suddenly gains friendship from an incidental character that was cleverly coded as a bully character, what with her royal ringlets and fufu laugh. Nice use of cliches to give the audience the same assumptions as Isabella.
Back at her postal company, Violet passes Isabellaās letter onto mail carrier Benedict, as well as a letter of her own.
Taylor Bartlett was placed at an orphanage, which is an obvious improvement from the shack she and Amy were living in, but sheās still lonely and forcing a distance between herself and her adopted sister. Further, Taylor received little education, as Benedict is forced to read the letters to the poor illiterate child.
Violetās letter offers the girl, whom Violet hasnāt actually met, support should Taylor ever need it.
Isabella/Amyās letter gives reassurance and an explanation for why she had to abandon her.
End part one.
Then we get a three year time skip (four years from the war ending). The steampunk tech has evolved, as more automobiles are on the roads and Benedict has taken to riding what is essentially a steam-powered ebike.[2]
I admire media that uses time skips, as it requires a dedication to committing to off screen changes and lost opportunities. Although, considering the strength of Violet Evergardenās vignette based storytelling and ambiguous time scale, this particular skip leaves three years the production staff can go back and fill in with more stories.[3]
Everyoneās lives seem largely unchanged, however. Violet still resides in the company headquarters, the same staff are in their same roles, and so forth. Guess thereās not much career mobility in the courier business.
Anyways, Taylor snuck away from her orphanage and made her way to the city, tracking down the Postal Company that brought her a letter from her estranged sister. Upon finding the company and Benedict (who she recognizes as being the one to deliver her happiness), Taylor moves onto phase two: getting a job as Mail Carrier herself!
Company President Hodgins is reluctant to hire a literal child, but Violet steps in to convince him to take Taylor as an apprentice until arrangements can be made to return Taylor to the orphanage. It seems Violet feels kinship with this young orphan trying to find family and a place in the world.
Itās pretty cool that the greatest strength the once emotionless Violet developed is empathy. Itās a pretty cool trait to give your protagonist.[4]
Benedict briefly attempts to take Taylor on as his helper, discovering over their shared route that Taylor remains illiterate. So Violet steps in to teach Taylor to write, as well as getting out her old mail-carrier uniform to assist with teaching Taylor the job.
Eventually, the Evergarden family adopts Taylor,[5] and Taylor writes a letter for big sister Amy.
But no one actually knows where Amy/Isabella went after graduating from the finishing school.
So Benedict starts making calls and practicing some clever detective work to select the estate of a Duke Neville. The price he asks Hodgins for this work is a new motorcycle with sidecar, which carries both him and Taylor to the estate.
He arrives, finds Isabella content but alone, and delivers the letter as Taylor hides in the bushes. Both sisters cry happy tears, and Benedict and Taylor leave as they discuss Taylorās decision not to actually reunite with her sister until becoming a proper mail carrier.
Thus concludes the film.
I quite enjoyed the movie as an extension of the original series, and I believe it is self-contained enough to stand on its own. Thereās plenty of questions left unanswered, and it feels like the middle portion of a long story that the postal employees get only a brief glimpse of, which is appropriate for the tone. I wish the promotional materials made it seem less like the story of Violet sweeping a woman off her feet and more on it being an extra long episode of Violet Evergarden, as thatās what it truly is.
Now I need to cross off more things from my backlog.[6]
Huluās got the second season of Log Horizon...
Kataal kataal.
-
[1] Amy Bartlett either is legitimately the lost heir of a noble family, or was selected to take that role. Iām not clear on the truth. [2] Iād be jealous if it didnāt look so beat up and impractical. [3] I hope the production staff goes back to fill the three years with more stories. [4] Try it at home! [5] Considering itās where Violet gets her last name, itās odd how little a role Tiffany Evergarden plays outside of adopting girls for plot convenience⦠[6] Digimon Adventure's getting a reboot, and I still havenāt watched Tri!

Hard Of Hearing and Watching TV
I honestly wish I liked more cartoons. I'm older than the target demograph at premiere date for both of these, but the only two I really, really like are Bleach, and Digimon 02-Savers
And of course, the only Western cartoons on broadcast TV now thanks to the Education Parent Kids Aren't Allowed to Relax Act of 1996 are for preschoolers or aimed at adults and made entirely of obscene shock "jokes" because who needs brains and decorum in 'Murica?
The reason I wish I liked more cartoons is actually the way the audio is recorded.
In cartoons as well as import dubs of live action, actors record sitting directly in front of a microphone.
In live action sans import dubbing, actors are wherever on the set, and there's a boom mic picking it all up somewhere in the room
(and of course, even though I grew up on Japanese dubs of live action American shows, I lip read these days, and watching a dub and mismatching lips renders the whole thing unintelligible)
I dunno if healthy hearing people even notice this difference, but save overly loud background music (Bleach, for one, does have a foreground music problem, as do some movies. Some even has vocals, like Ichigo's theme) cartoons are much easier to hear without inconveniencing the neighbours (flat, not house), which I don't like to do. I don't wanna be that guy.
The audio is just so much clearer when the mic is closer.
Unfortunately, my favourite genre is actually sitcom. This means recorded on boom mic, and not even my first language. Second are tied family drama and specifically Japanese detective (can't watch anything where you're supposed to root for American cops, whereas I have a more neutral view of Japanese ones based on experience) both are in my language. But they're still done via boom mic. So they're much harder to hear than cartoon.
Sure, I can lip-read live action if the character is shown from a conducive angle throughout the line. But this often isn't the case. You'd have to be watching a speech or court telecast for that. (News varies)
Obviously, I'm completely fluent in English, but there is a thing where your ears are forever tuned by your native. I do not hear a lot of final consonants, for example (I do hear "n" or "s" but I rarely ever hear, say, final "d," "t" or "p" unless they're overenunciated, which then sounds weird) It all sounds like a glottal stop to me.
Anyway, it's a bit difficult that what I want to watch and what I can hear better don't often cross.
(And never mind that Japanese broadcasts in America and VCDs don't have closed captioning even though Unicode should make the former possible, even modern English closed captioning in America is auto-generated garbage. I miss American captioning being done by WGBH, that PBS out of Chicago or whatever)
I don't have a conclusion, just griping about accessibility issues
#accessibility#hearing impaired#closed captions#audio recording#polyglot#though i really only mention two#a lot of what I said about English goes for Spanish as well

ZERO TOLERANCE FOR RACIST CHASERS/GAY-FOR-STRAIGHT-CONSUMPTION/OOC TRANSPHOBIA/ANY RACISM WHATSOEVER UNLESS SHOWN AS BAD BY NARRATIVE AND CONFINED TO AGREED UPON PLOTTING
I set Savers in its airing year, so Masaru was born in '92. Can take place anytime after episode 49. However, there just won't be any explicit sexual content regardless of when the thread takes place. I also don't auto-ship: I'm here to walk a character through things, so ships will all be more slow-burn. Also, while Masaru's just pan, I'm actually asexual, so don't even expect me to present beyond a textbook understanding of sexual attraction
Masaru's kind of a jerk. My other two muses are generally at least kind unless the other person isn't, but Masaru's kind of abrasive and gleefully violent. If we're playing, I'll probably warn you beforehand, but Masaru may snap at your muse if your muse isn't a little kid. If your muse didn't deserve it, he'll probably apologise at some point, but yeah, this muse is even less like me than 02's Ken (Bleach's Ichigo is my muse most like me)
I'm on mobile. Period. I can't cut threads. I usually just tag "long post." Can't cut threads.
Seen JP ver only. Haven't seen any others, and I have no reason to bother--the original's in my native. Why would I bother with "orange juice bomb"?
Masaru is mixed race here. In a planned project that's a sister project to my Bleach project I already got a bit of stuff up for, Masaru's mum is Japanese and Russian, and related to Junpei of Frontier, and Masaru's dad was Japanese and Afghani. Masaru actually does speak Japanese, Russian, and Persian.
Masaru's also trans here. He never got puberty blockers, but he finally got testosterone at 13. So his voice changed at a pretty normal age. But he does need a binder and all that. (He loved that black tank top he wears after the memory wipe because it was just the right cut to cover the binder while showing off his arm muscles!) He does someday want kids, and Japanese law, like most US states or most places, requires sterilisation to recognise gender change. His papers also say a different first name. Of course, this probably came up with Satuma. Satuma and payroll at DATS probably know all about it. But being trans isn't *as* hard in Japan as the Anglophonic world. Especially thanks to Kamikawa Aya advocating on outlets like NHK radio since '95, which Masaru would be three then.
I toss the epilogue. Don't like the losing their digimon, and Masaru ditching his family he feels so responsible for and his dad he just got back?
Actually, in my project, ep 48 never happens. Suguru is dead, DATS remains, and Sayuri gets BanchouLeomon as her digimon partner.
Oh, another rule--poor spelling and grammar is acceptable if you are not a native speaker. It infuriates me to no end that I'm supposed to be an idiot for being fluent in three just because English is not my first, but native speakers get to run around spelling "bins" "ben's" and congratulating themselves for "kohnichuwa" but I get beaten/decried for actually knowing the language... And also, ,ZERO TOLERANCE for "garnish my human default English with exotic Japanese uwu" See "zero tolerance for chasers and racism"
Totally available to play in Japanese or Spanish, but you must be fluent.
Masaru lives in Tobechou, Yokohama. I went to the Chinatown in Yokohama once with my dad, but I lived in Koube. And we didn't leave Hanshin region all that much. My knowledge of much outside there being a Chinatown in the '80s (obviously still there, as it was the setting for the Savers movie) and big landmarks like Minatomirai is minimal. I also haven't been back to Japan period since '94. My relatives there are all deceased since the '90s, and flights alone are 1,000$, which, until recently, was definitely over a month of rent. Two for a studio, one plus a couple hundred for a 1 or 2LDK, depending. Might even have had 1.5 baths. By the time Savers was airing in Japan, I was able to keep up with Japanese news via now-gone Japanese-language broadcasts in California, as well as the Web, which is also how I saw Savers. But my knowledge of Japanese things may run the risk of being almost 30 years out of date. Or it might be completely current because I still read Asahi News, the most left-leaning paper I can find. Unsure if related to Hanshin region channel 6, but channel 6 was the best when I was there.
The Daimon family didn't move when Masaru came out, but he came out pretty young. It's just difficult to get trans care for minors. That being said, most peers don't know he's trans. They do know he's mixed, though. That being said, it's not like it's *only* him fighting racist bullies. It's only partially that. Like I said, I fully acknowledge he's pretty abrasive. So he's not completely blameless for all the fights. He could easily someday be the kind of parent who gets arrested for punching a rival dad. Violence is not a last resort for him. It's the best resort.
I do multi-para and don't use icons. But I'm not asking for an exact word count match. All I ask is give me stuff to go off of in replies and for Heaven's sake, do *not* format like House of Leaves when you play with me. Format button abuse looks like a visual panic attack, and is just too chaotic for me to read.
I may go spotty on replies with you. I'll still chat with you via the messenger thingy, and I don't play with people I've never spoken to, even if I've started the interaction, because I need to filter for my sanity, so I need to know the people I play with aren't gonna pull racism or something on me, but when my replies slow, it's because I work on-call at a shelter for seriously physically ill people, I'm also disabled myself, and I don't have the ability to put enough energy for the high-quality replies I strive to give in at the moment. I'm stalling because I want to give you my best. If I want to drop a thread, which is admittedly rare, I'll let you know. I won't leave you guessing.
Some h/cs just for fun
Masaru loves metal. The metal I know is 70s prog and 80s glam metal and stuff. I don't really like much music past about '94, and exactly two albums after 2000 (neither are metal)
Masaru has always had the same kind of attention span I have now even though I completely didn't when I was younger. He's running commentary if you watch an movie with him, his biggest problem with school is the whole sitting and passively listening to a lecture part, he thinks he doesn't like reading because others always talk about sitting there and reading for hours on end (if he's older, he may have realised it's OK to read for 20-minute bursts, something I eventually realised, too). He only really learns by doing. That being said, depending on age, he may not have had the chance to *realise* that yet.
He wouldn't become a sumo wrestler, but he totally watches it. Honestly, any fighting sport, and he's there.
He's very Japanese as far as religion. Sort of takes part and believes in a lot of them at the same time, but none are a overly influential part of his life. This is a thing.
Crossovers with any season preceding Savers are pretty easy with this blog considering my project. The project will eventually merge with the Bleach project, toi, so I also have a thing for that. Overall, I welcome crossovers with most animated media. Live action, I'll consider if you don't use icons with me (it ends up looking like Who Framed Roger Rabbit in my head) I don't do any real person stuff beyond, say, having Masaru listen to real bands or know of other public figures.
There is also a flexibility in playing Masaru in other countries. He could visit family in Russia or Afghanistan, he can be sent over from DATS to help with digimon appearances in countries allied with Japan (coughcontroloverjapanliketheuscough) or I totally ship him with Touma, so he could be in whatever that country is (obviously a Germanic nation in Western Europe)
He's definitely leftist, but his tactics aren't really common among the left. Typically, it's the fascists that will throw the first punch. Except Masaru will, as well. Unfortunately, this means he can take *away* from, say, antifa efforts to counter demo anti-Korean rioters.
He looks down on most weapon use, but probably none more so than guns and other weapons that remove the user from the target. To him, anyone who hides safely behind a weapon and makes the fight so one-sided is a coward. To this extent, he thinks war should be done away with and the leaders of the countries should duel instead of America just wiping out thousands of Japanese (WWII) or Afghani (during his lifetime) civilians (well, in that war, it was definitely not the Afghani government's fault, as that was a radical rebel sect powered initially by Regean, but it was most certainly civilian deaths en masse)
Masaru cannot meditate at all. He's also very reactive. To that extent, he's never really done well with martial arts. There's a lot less focus on self-discipline in boxing and wrestling than in Aikido or karate or what have you. He'd probably love the intensity of Krav Maga or CQC. I just don't know if Krav Maga has a self-discipline component. CQC almost certainly doesn't--it's American.
More when I think of it.

These are the videos you could win if you entered that contest. (Donāt forget to have your entries in before December 31st 2001!) Those episode synopses are worth a read. They all seem to give Demidevimon a lot more credit for what happened.
Itās also not consistent as to name highlighting - just look at the entry for Soraās Crest of Love, for example. Also in the previous one, Metal GREYMON.
The phrasing of the introductory paragraph here - talking about episodes you āmay have missedā and advertising the novel concept of being able to watch your favourite episode ā[sic] againand againā! - really shows how revolutionary it is nowadays to be able to watch whatever you want on-demand, either online or on DVDs. Owning actual videos of things was such a revolutionary thing to have, back in the day! I went through a phase of recording Pokemon episodes from the TV, for example. Weird.
I think we had Volume 1? I vaguely remember having the Biyomon episode too, but not the other two there. Maybe Iām thinking of that previous comic.
...several of those names are wrong.
Again, worth a read, if only for the sneaking suspicion that the people (person, letās be real) writing this didnāt pay attention to what was actually revealed in each episode. But!
Gennaiās homeland???? His enemies??????
Did... did I not pay attention?
HAHAHA WELP.
And hey, letās flick over to that Simpsons thing there! I especially like this:
Which was suppised to be a satirical thing to show that Krusty had endorsed so many dumb products tht he just recorded a low-effort stock footage thing to be shown on everything that his team wanted to mass produce.
Irony!
Anyway, the page of that Simpsons ad has since come out of the staple, but itās the center page so itās okay. Whatās on the other side?
WHO THE FUCK IS THESE. WEāRE ON FILE ISLAND STILL.
Oh my god, read all of these. This page, these character descriptions, are what made me realise as a kid how little personality the Digimon themselves had. For example:
STRONG SENSE OF DUTY W H O M S T
Fun loving is such a useless descriptor. I love fun. Who doesnāt? My idea of fun is playing games and writing uselessly pedantic blog posts. My mum is fun loving too, only she likes English soap operas and hates fantasy. My grandma loves fun too, only her idea of fun is crosswords and crafting.
It appears more than once. Note that this exact description could also apply to Veemon, if you replaced the names.
āArmdillomonā, also known asĀ āDillomonā on that same page.
āA little snobbishā is the only one so far to actually only fit that particular Digimon, but itās another use ofĀ āmaking sure his partner doesnāt get into trouble/nothing happens to themā, like Veemon up above.
Patamon also works hard to impress everyone, AGAIN just like Veemon up above! Come on, guys, I know you must have been paid about $1.50 to write these, but at least try.
It gets better over the page:
Oh hey, the Simpsons are back. (And how funny is it that this particular version of Ken is used? Thatās hilarious.)
Literally the most descriptive of all of these, and yet still somehow underwhelming.
But the best one by far is:
Count the things that are wrong here! My favourite is Flamedragon.
(lmao it even acknowledges that this description is similar to Patamonās!)

7 Answers to the Most Frequently Asked Questions About digimon world dawn
Gotta Catch 'Em All
No doubt that, the attraction of online flash games will not end. With over a 1000 Digimon to choose from, there can be something for everybody in the wonderful world of Digimon. With all sorts of cool Digimon, highlighted in the anime, manga, video games, and card game, it could be hard to narrow it right down to just 10, but with some effort and determination, we could actually discover 10 that represented every facet of the series. Which Digimon do you consider is the coolest? Are there any Digimon you think must have been on the list? Tell us in the comments below. A sequel to the popular anime series which accumulates after a 2 . 5 calendar year timeskip. Naruto returns to the Konoha village after teaching under Jiraiya. He still hasn't abadndoned Sasuke, who now became a member of forces with Akatsuki to achieve his own goals. However, Naruto is in more danger than ever as Akatsuki increase their attempts to hunt the Tailed Beasts.
Note: We at ROMs World Online have many PlayStation ROMs available for free to download. We likewise have some famous ROMs like Super Mario Galaxy ROM from rommode, completeroms, romsmania and also gamulator. You already have a great deal of stress and anxiety in your daily life. Most college students today have more homework assignments than ever before. In fact, a whole lot of parents complained that their children get back from school and seemed to have nothing more to accomplish than to just focus on homework! There can be an appropriate balance that should be struck between getting homework carried out and having fun. After you get back and take a brief break, then you can certainly start doing some homework.
Those two red spots are not just for cuteness, they will be the location of Pikachu's electric sacs. Pikachu is an electric pokƩmon, the guy can manipulate electricity for episodes on it's opponents on or off the battlefield. Pikachu is an extremely friendly pokƩmon and incredibly easy to love, he is normally seen with his best buddy, trainer Ash Ketchum and friend. Otonashi is an adolescent who died and went to afterlife. The afterlife is usually a high school for all those with any lingering regrets. He meets a http://edition.cnn.com/search/?text=digimon girl called Yuri who invites him to join the Afterlife Battlefront - an organization she qualified prospects which fights against the college student council president Angel, a girl with supernatural powers.
Not absolutely all valuable trading cards are fresh releases. Dating from the 1940s, this series of Man of Steel trading cards is almost as older as the much-loved character himself. Mint-condition illustrations are uncommon - and, considering these were originally little more than bubble-gum wrappers, highly useful. Generally, scents for children use well-known cartoon and anime personas as trademarks and offering vehicles. Yes, it had been imported eventually to other countries, including the USA, but that is typical of highly successful anime. Why not make more money from more people? The intended viewers of the task, however, were not particularly Americans. If that had been so, why didn't they simply produce the display in English and begin brainwashing people's Christian children from the beginning? It creates no sense.
Sousuke can be an elite soldier working for a mercenary push Mithril. He is given a objective to safeguard a Japanese senior high school young lady Chidori Kaname by posing as a transfer student. Sousuke might today a lot about military technology, but he understands following to nothing about college life, which results in all sorts of hilarious situations. Anime cons are some of the best gatherings I've ever been to. Everyone is there due to a common curiosity in Japanese culture, whether it be anime or lolita outfits. It really is among the best issues ever created ^^ (at least in my opinion).
Digimon World 4 is a hack and slash video game which is way better if you have a friend or friends to play it with. I did enjoy the game, but it was fairly damn hard to create it through to the end by myself. By the time it is possible to get digivolved forms you will have likely finished the story and they only utilize the same weapons and special attacks anyway. It is a weird entry for the series and if you like these kind of games continues to be fun. The overall game of Five Stones is certainly used five small triangular fabric bags filled with seeds, rice or sand. Each player has to throw a bag in to the air, and then quickly grab another bag on the ground before catching the first one on its way down. The game continues as the participant repeats the actions by grabbing two luggage on the ground, and so on.
During the 90's these kinds of video games started acquiring popularity, and to any extent further they will include high-end visuals, extremely real sounds, and virtual communities, together with so quite definitely more. I've played all but Next Order, the DS video games, and the PS3 video game. Best Digimon game of all, I'd say Digimon Adventure PSP because it is the first time of year of the display, in game form. If fans are loud enough, Bandai Namco could helm a new game based on the popular series. Digimon World Re:Digitize Decode of course. It's original. It isn't as buggy as the playstation video games and it's fun.

If you are a magna fan and reading up on the most recent anime and manga releases and the history of the subject, you will find there has been a lot of confusion between anime and manga. Oftentimes, followers will inquire others on discussion boards or on weblogs or in chat rooms what the difference is definitely. But that is like having the blind lead the blind generally. Not the best kind of art since it really could screen in better artwork and colors. Though I said that, there are portion of the games that is just amazing and makes me feel like it can't obtain any much better than thisā during certain elements of the game despite the fact that the artwork is not really that great.

Players play as a mage and as such must rely on casting various magic spells by drawing rune styles on the DS touch screen. The energy of the spell can be effected by how accurately the rune digimon world agumon can be drawn, with more powerful spells being tougher to draw. All of the spell combinations offers players many different gameplay choices to create a substantial depth of gameplay. In order you can observe the Digimon anime movies do have a general theme which is usually boosted by the Island of the Lost Digimon. It's possible for two completely different types of people to live jointly peacefully and it is sometimes the children that coach us this.
January 31 - Digimon World: Next Order is definitely released in THE UNITED STATES for the PlayStation 4. In 1999, a short film predicated on the virtual house animals known as Digimon Adventure premiered. However, soon after the film's storyboard was finished in 1998, suppliers at Toei Computer animation were requested to turn it into a television series. The trading cards market is certainly dominated by a little number of notable businesses. These leading companies include Topps, Leaf Candy Firm, Donruss, Fleer, and Upper Deck. These businesses, while known mainly for their sports cards, non and actually produce sports-sports series.
An anime convention can be an event where people collect to celebrate anime, manga and aspects of Japanese tradition that they love. Organizers, who are large anime fans themselves, give a wide variety of entertainment geared to create the best Anime experience for fans. Despite being loosely predicated on the effective anime series Digimon Data Squad and having better graphics than its predecessor, Digimon Fight Online, having less PVP and the increased need for micro-transactions severely dampen any pleasure you could get out of the game.
March 24 - Digimon Links is released in Japan for Smartphones. It generally does not take a lot to win a combat in Digimon: ReArise, the most recent digital monster video game for iOS and Android devices. As long as your party is properly leveled up, the auto-battle function breezes through the turn-based group battles. The real challenge in Digimon: ReArise can be collecting, raising, and schooling an ever-expanding horde of multi-colored creatures, evolving them from pretty small balls into humanoid numbers with rocket launchers installed on their shoulders.

Welcome to my September updates post!
Wow, where did September go? Anybody else feel like it vanished into thin air? Itās been colder, with a couple of very heavy rainstorms and gusts of wind, and Iāve been pretty productive!
My goals for September were:
Continue researching critical commentary and autobiographical fiction for university. Continue researching proofreading and copy-editing. Donāt watch so much TV. Beta read a short story. Write two short stories. Complete the 14 days to a writing habit course. Ease the pressure on my novels. Read one book. Draw weekly. Catch up on emails. Use social media more.
Halfway through September, during the 14 days to a Writing Habit course, I realised some of my goals werenāt achievable or realistic, so I dropped a few for now. I wrote a post about setting realistic goals and vowed to change my ways:Ā Other than that, how did I do?
University Research:
I read a published PhD level Creative Writing assignment with critical commentary. Whilst it was very useful, and high quality, the amount of academic language put me off a PhD myself! I still have a little more research on critical commentary to do, which Iāll aim to finish in October.
I started researching life writing by reading books in that genre. In October Iāll continue reading and learn how to write it. Iāve also thought of project ideas for when they, inevitably, tell me dragons canāt be in autobiographical fiction: At the moment my favourite idea is to writeĀ in the style of the film Sliding DoorsĀ using two narratives, one speculative and one real.
TV:
I binged Disenchantment, but there wereĀ only 10 episodes and it ended on another cliffhanger. I donāt think season 2 was as good as the first, although the steampunk part was awesome!Ā I also watched the Doctor Who seasons with Rose: Rose and the 10th Doctor are my favourites, and theyāre one of the only TV couples I buy into. I only wish they had more time!
Carole and Tuesday, which I started last month, was excellent. I love the music and characters, and I canāt wait for the next part!Ā Iāve paused watching Digimon 02 for now. Iāll continue one day, but Iām going to (finally) finish Gotham instead! I donāt think I watched less TV, but it didnāt affect my writing.
Merlin:
Merlin got his own introductory postĀ earlier in the month. He was sleeping (and snoring!) on my office windowsill as I wrote some of this post, and the moment I got up he stole my chair! He can be so cute, but donāt let him fool you! His latest obsession is chewing on the wire of an expensive gaming keyboard, which we have to hide at night!
His tail is getting really fluffy, and heās so big. Apparently he still has 5 months of growing to do, and I have no idea how big heās going to get!
Writing:
I wrote two short stories, Less than Perfect,Ā based on my experience with writerās block, and Wishing on a Star,Ā about how different choices could change our lives. Iāll aim for two more stories this month, based on theĀ #sunscribbles prompts Promise and Panic. TheĀ 14 day writing habit course by Writerās HQ was excellent: Iām doing another course now, on short stories, which I hope will be just as good.
I didnāt set any goals for my works in progress, but I worked on my Arthurian legend retelling anyway. I typed up notes from my notebooks and planned the first eight chapters. The old me wouldāve rushed to finish my outline so I could start writing for Nanowrimo. The new me says no to Nanowrimo, and Iāll aim to finish outlining the next eight chapters by November.
Drawing, and Proofreading & Copy-editing research:
I abandoned my weekly drawing goal. It was too much to fit in with everything else I wanted to do. I really want to practice, so Iām going to draw one picture in October: Probably Halloween fanart to give me an entire month to finish it!Ā Iāve also put my proofreading & copy-editing research goals on hold for now, as I wonāt have time once I start university again.
Reading:
I read a lot in September. Lots of non-fiction for research, some Doctor Who fanfiction, beta-reading,Ā The Diary of Anne Frank (plusĀ half of another book in an attempt to understand life writing for university), and one and a half fiction books:

Princess of Death was a fun story about princesses and pirates, which I rated 4 stars, and Iām currently halfway throughĀ Heroes of Englandom, described as a cross between the Hunger Games and Divergent with a gay MC. I hated the comparison titles, because I couldnāt relate to the main characters, but Iām loving Derin and Dylan so far!
In October Iāll aim to read one book: Although I smashed my reading goals in September, Iād rather keep my goals small and manageable!
Other random stuff:
Iāve caught up on emails, but I decided not to focus on social media until Iām writing again.
Iāve been exercising regularly, but eating lots of pizza!
Iām growing potatoes! (and cucumbers, but I think I planted them too late!)
Itās my birthday in October, and I wonāt be around much from the 8th-12th!

Thanks for reading!
Iām pretty pleased with last month, although I still seem to take on too much. With one month until Iām back at university, I need to get organised!
How was your September? What are your October goals? Are you doing Nanowrimo? Any book or TV recommendations? Chat in the comments!
Writing, Reading, Research and Kitten Updates: SeptemberĀ 2019! Welcome to my September updates post! Wow, where did September go? Anybody else feel like it vanished into thin air?

Digimon World Next Order!! For once a game that ISNT a weirdly named sequel, even though it still sounds like one. 'Order Points' is the name of the revamped battle system. ^_^ Ive only been playing for about four hours but so far I'm really enjoying it! RANDOM RAMBLING ABOUT MY JOY, AHOY!
* First off, its a sequel to the original Digimon World rather than to Cyber Sleuth, so do a bit of research before you buy it, I'd say. Its more of a tamagotchi hybrid rpg than a regular turn-based one. Lots of hugging virtual pets and feeding em snacks! But this has always been my fave genre so I'm happyyyyyy~ * I named my two digimon Hershey and Zephyr cos they started off as terriermon and lopmon. But they immediately diverged off into wildly different digivolution paths instead, so now the names dont make sense XD By some grand coincidence they ended up becoming snowogremon and icedevimon at the same time, so that's what they are now! :3 my popsicle buddies! * Hershey's favourite food is mushrooms/vegetables, and Zephyr is a bit of a diva who hates everything except mineral water. Its funny since Hershey is the fragile magic user of the duo, and then we have this hulking ice shoulderblades yeti being all 'no my carbs'. DUDE WHY U GO AGAINST UR EVOLUTION REQUIREMENTS aaa but i luv u anywayyyyy * Hershey lucked out and got a super powerful technique early on by random chance, this thing that costs 700 mp to deal 700 damage, when everything else is like 50 power. And then they lucked right out of it again, cos Icedevimon cant use that move XD fifteen seconds of power as a rookie... * why do the levels mean basically nothing, yo? the game says this redvegiemon is level 3 but its stronger than the level 6 everything else in the area. Maybe the game is just dumb and levels dont take into account digivolution level? Like.. this is stronger cos its not a rookie, and they didnt even bother to make the level counter say 13 or something so the player could actually tell Ā Well, now i know to ignore that thing entirely and just judge on their digivolutions! * The difficulty is far lower in the actual raising aspect yet higher in battles... its weird... * Its also a shame that training no longer has unique animations! It doesnt have any animations at all, its just push button dispense stats. They did at least clear up the problem of having to walk manually between each training area and waste valuable time, now there's just one training area that contains all the different trainings in a neat quick navigation menu. But its also a bit less charming and less gamelike when its JUST menus. BUT on the other hand they did mitigate it a bit by throwing in new features like a roulette roll to get bonus stats, and a whole system of complex ways you can win an extra turn on it. (Training next to each other, training opposite skills, having max happiness, someone having just digivolved, one stat gets a bonus turn each day at random...) * Its really nice that the intro of the game has you meet your digimon partners in fully evolved mega form and have a few scenes of dialogue with them before they get poofed down to digieggs by the villain. It helps mitigate the weirdness of your partner digimon being the only digimon that cant talk! * BUT ALSO. NOW THEY TALK. !!!!!! * You get some cute random dialogue popups on the bottom of the screen as you adventure around, and each digivolution has a different set of stuff to say. Its still very minimal and can get repetitive, but its adorable and helps you get more attatched to these lil doofs! * Also its hella nice that you can now pick to play as a girl, for the first time in the tamagotchi-style digimon games! I actually think her design looks cooler than the dude, he just has a streak of blue hair while she has this awesome poisonous-looking striped ponytail that bleeds pixels as you run! Badass! * ALSO thank you for english dubbed dialogue yo. Its not perfect but then again namco bandai games rarely are XD And they included an option to have the original japanese voices if you prefer! * I missed Jijimon so much. Why he never get to appear in anything aside from this spinoff series? He was in one episode of Tamers but that was an awful cameo He has THE MOST STEREOTYPICAL grandpa voice in the english dub and i luv im * The environment design so far is a lot more basic and boring than the old ps1 game for some reason? It seems to fall prey to the usual ps4 designer logic that making stuff BIG makes it automatically good, even if its just annoyingly huge spaces to traverse with barely anything in them. And so far its just been Generic Field A, B and C, with only occasional stuff like a giant battery to let you know its the digital world. And the main town is super small now that everything training has been smooshed into one building... * Its also a lot less sandboxy and interesting to explore, and the digimon recruitment quests kinda suck. I've already found three guys and all of them were fetch quests to gather a certain amount of an item. And now you also have to gather certain amounts of an item from special gathering spots in order to actually build the new shops, which is annoying because its in these huge boring maps that you have to backtrack thru again and again * The battle system is VASTLY IMPROVED, holy SHIT! Its like they somehow read my brain?? Back when i played the first digimon world, i would always get so frustrated at the auto battle and its bad AI that i'd just mash the X button even when i had nothing to do. Somehow I thought it would make my digimon stronger. AND NOW IT ACTUALLY DOES!!! The X button has been remapped to the new cheer function, and if you cheer at the right moment you get more or less Order Points. if you use them you can manually select to use a move at the right timing, use a move without consuming MP, or use a special super move! (waaaay easier than the shoulder buttons thing in the old game) It spices up a very inactive battle system! * Oh and HELL YEAH FOR QUIDE PUZZLE SYSTEM THINGIE! In the first game you had NO WAY OF KNOWING what requirements you needed to meet for each digivolution, or what digimon could turn into what, until after you'd already unlocked it. You had to consult fanmade guides if you wanted to try 100% completion. Now the guide is an actual ingame menu where you unlock tips as rewards for various good actions as a virtual pet owner. You'll likely never unlock all the guide points for a particular digimon stage before you're already past it, unless you raise the same one a bazillion times. But the lil tips every now and then can be useful enough to help you choose which direction to take your training! Just a lil 'oh, ive already hit the HP requirement for this one? i guess I'll try and go for it!' or 'oh darn this one requires maximum deliquency, i guess i wont get it so I should try for something else'. Its useful. My only complaint is that maybe the way to unlock them could have been less random and less easy? Its just a random chance whenever they eat food/get praised after a good thing. * Ultimately so far the few bad points arent bad enough to ruin the enjoyment for me. It just seems a little soulless and rushed, maybe? But I'd enjoy literally anything in this genre, I've been waiting so long for a sequel that even if this was terrible I'd still adore it! And its far from terrible, its just a lil bland. It probably wont have as much replayability as the first game, but it still feels like it'd be fun for one playthrough! * Also, Hershey and Zephyr are my new lil best friends. SUCH A CUTE GIANT MONSTERS YES YOU IS Ā Ā Ā Ā
