#Writing Update

Merry Christmas! 🎄

Hello everyone! I wanted to wish you all a safe holidays and bring some news.

I planned on making a Christmas special for Swapped, since it doesn’t really fit the settings of ATOL or ST4RDOM. However, I decided to make my life extra hard by expanding on certain choices, and thus I have not managed to finish in time. Rather than push myself to the limit and pull an all-nighter like I did last night, I’m going to give myself a rest, so the release date may be 1-2 days from now. I was so close, but I couldn’t reach it in time.

Still, I hope to have some more news on Swapped and ST4RDOM once the New Year comes! I hope to update both games at least once next year, so please stay tuned for more.

I hope you are all having an amazing festive season and eating lots of delicious food just like me. Sorry for disappearing, I have been busy with family and eating myself into a food coma.

After a lovely break I am ready to start writing again. Tomorrow is my writing day and I need you all to wish me luck. Feels like my brain went on vacation so I need to kick it back into writing mode.

2024 at a glance

Been inactive as I try to find more motivation. Thank you all for your patience.

This has been an exceptionally hard year for me. Lost loved ones, questioned life choices, and a mound of personal issues.

However, I want to focus on the positives. That's the tone I wanted for this blog. Specifically, let's look at my writing:

I want to shout-out all of my lovely mutuals. You guys are amazing. I've received so much joy from y'all's positive comments.

Specifically, @illarian-rambling beta read TSP to its end, and her comments were exceptionally helpful. I've made so much progress on TSP. Many new chapters, scenes, revelations - even helped with Part Two! I got much more drafted than I thought.

I have begun making the database of powers for Alii. Man, it's nowhere near done, but it exists and will be helpful eventually.

Alium has a calendar! Mainly a time and date system. I've made so many revelations about the world!

The amount of character revelations I've had from playing ask games and tag games is insane. Thank you everyone for helping me figure out more about my story even when you didn't intend it.

I did some background thinking for other WIPs. This is just really fun even if they're just ideas. I like expanding those ideas.

Also beginning planning for IWAJAD. That just is so awesome. I thought I'd finish TSP and SOTL first.

This was a good year for writing.

On here, I used to post, in spurts, twice a day because of my desperate need for validation... I'm trying to find validation and fulfillment elsewhere, without attempting to get people to notice me here. The break was largely for my mental health.

Still tag me and interact with me and maybe drop an ask - I love it so much. But I won't be posting as often as I used to so I can avoid falling into the habit of relying on notes and asks for a self-esteem boost.

05/09/2024: everyone wake up it's take walks in the rain and hole up in the library season

academia: slowly working through preliminary research for a potential dissertation topic (women in medieval/early modern warfare), battling the university website for it to acknowledge me as an incoming student.

writing: ... so i accidentally started a new project again. that makes 13, not including the fanfic i write, but whelp. i'm hoping i can mesh it into a pre-existing project, since they're on a similar theme, and that'll feed two birds with one scone.

I should probably say: the reason why I’m active again is that I have ✨graduated✨!! Aaand I have a new pc. Thus, I plan to be more consistent and faster with my writing! Blackwood Manor is coming back soon 🖤

Wow so it’s been a long time coming, but the next TK chapter should be out this evening. It’s 14.5k unedited, and I’m going to spend the afternoon polishing it. Unless I discover some major issue, it should be posted between 5-6 ish CST! I’ll update here if this changes — please be kind to me, I am only human. Thank you for everyone who has sent me lovely comments and encouragement without being demanding.

November 7th '24

Forgot to turn the heating on in my writing shed this morning, so I'll be working in a bracing chill while I write more "Sanctuary" - a Merlin magic reveal fic for a friend.

The aim is to get at least 3000 words written this morning. We shall see how that goes!

Payneland Friends-With-Benefits Follow-Up (or, Charles really should have clarified that his boyfriend knew they were dating years ago)

"We are nothing like a married couple," Edwin says, voice sharp, almost defensive as he whips around to look at Crystal. "We are not in love-"

And the bottom fucking drops out of Charles’ stomach.

Because what the actual fuck is that supposed to mean, Edwin Payne?

"Excuse my partner and I for just a tick," Charles says, flashing one quick, probably hardly convincing smile at Crystal and yanks Edwin through the door of Crystal's closet.

"What is your malady today, Charles?" Edwin demands, brushing Charles' hand off of his arm with an imperious roll of the eyes, and in any other circumstance Charles would smile fondly and watch Edwin go off on a client or witness in that scalpel-sharp tone of voice, knowing that they were going to make out against their stacks of books after the case closed, Charles rewarding Edwin's wit with quite the happy ending.

But not today. Not right now.

“Edwin,” Charles says, “You said that we were nothing like an old married couple. That we weren't in love. Tell me exactly what the bloody hell you think has been going on between us for years.”

The last 7 chapters I've written are scattered between my phone notes, laptop notes, and the actual manu so now i have to go on a witch hunt to track down all the lil snippets and somehow turn 20-ish notes into 7 chapters

Writing Update (06/11/24)

Hello everyone! Here is a very long overdue writing update that should hopefully catch everyone up onto speed on how the writing is going :) It's public so everyone should be able to access it!

I'll likely be putting all future writing updates on there w/ the exception of release announcements, but I'll always link the posts here :)
