King:

The vocal stimming is definitely a sign. But also King's "squeal of rage" is like so close to a way a meltdown might look. Also, it's not just a hyper fixation of being kind of demons but a wider special interest in demons, or his perception of demons. He makes whole lessons!

The way he connects to his stuffies also vibes for me as someone w/ autism who like is so highly connected to my stuffed animals/dolls. Like how he talks to them and his deep love for specific ones. I mean his big show of understanding with the collector is giving him his toy! letting my friends even hold my stuffed animals was a huge moment for me. This is probably just a lot of projection, but the fact I took a stuffie to school made me the word kid and King would so do that too.

Also how he uses the stuffed animals to handle being left out by Eda & Luz!

Also, also, the fact King's first real friend is Luz the ND ruler hero herself? So autistic.

Amity:

So I def see some autistic traits in her! I hadn't thought too much about it when I made that earlier post but I have recently and I have THOUGHTS!

In general, I see a lot of C-PTSD traits layered on top due to the abuse by her mother and neglect of her father. The two are inextricably linked in that you are born autistic (so your brain & nervous system function is different) and then trauma starting at a young age makes your brain develop differently on top of that!!

It's interesting that the one person she clicked w/ before Luz & Co is Willow who is very ND coded (The whole hexsquad is), as I said w/ King there is a lot to be said for autistic people clicking with each other.

Liking routines are two big autistic traits. Liking routine can be a trauma thing if the schedule kept you safe and offers some safety but I totally see that as being something coming from both. 

We see some stimming from Amity which is a big autistic thing!

She has struggles communicating and making relationships. This is evident in her not having close friends (I know that a lot of friends I made weren't friends which is a whole thing). Her relationships seem to a large degree to be a performance to make her parents happy. I believe this could be a combination of a "false self" made to live up to her mother's impossible expectations and scripting/masking. She also struggles to form thoughts and communicate in happy situations which I know is interesting with w/ autism because good stress on the nervous system still causes some dysregulation in a way people whose body regulates normally don't always experience. 

Her whole character is a fascinating look at how someone who masks so hard to be the "top student" and a good daughter gets to unmask and be more silly, expressive, dorky and fully herself when she makes friends. Even changing her hair!

A huge moment in her arc is all about letting go of abusive messages, "I grew up thinking everything was an opportunity to justify existing, but there are people out there who won't make you feel worthless, you just... have to let yourself meet them."(Eclipse Lake) is about how when you meet new friends you stop justifying yourself!

I see a lot of C-PTSD in how she acts, which I think is really important and central. Showing emotional abuse and control as hugely impactful and something you can heal from would have meant a lot to me as a young abused kid. And!! There are some autistic traits in there. Anyway, I love the idea of a neurodivergent girl finally being given the chance to heal from trauma!

Camila: 

I absolutely believe she is autistic or has ADHD. I'm not totally sure which, but I believe she likely has a similar neurodivergence that Luz has! The way we see how she wanted to prevent Luz from having to go through more trauma at the hands of the system and bullies that she did, I think that shows a lot of understanding of what the world is for kids who have developmental differences from their peers. Also her implied obsession w/ Cosmic Frontier!

We also see in her dream she is backing Luz up throughout the years when Luz is being different or doing things that others consider strange. She gets Luz to some extent. 

We see similar to Amity in a ting Camilla got good at masking and even hid her love of nerdy-type things from her daughter.

when luz makes her breakthrough and string bean hatches it's because her mom let down those masks and communicated w/ her daughter through something nerdy and in a way that actually made Luz realise she wasn't alone! (I think Luz's talk with the Titan also was another big moment for her in healing but that's another post).

So yeah Autistic Camila is like a huge thing I love. 

Hunter:

So similar to Amity I think his character is a complex mix of C-PTSD & Autism. Hunter doesn't so much mask like Amity in the sense of trying to act allistic but fills the role of Golden Gaurd that Belos slotted him into. I do think that growing up apart from anyone his age also affects him a lot he doesn't get to have any peers to get close to and form bonds with till he connects with Willow and Gus. (The others he met in a combative situation so no counting that here) So some of his social difficulties I do think come from that, but I think some autistic traits could be part of that. Like his tendency to take things literally and struggles with modulating tone. Overall deficits in social connections I believe stem from many sources; complex trauma, autism, and being raised in a restrictive environment.

He shows a very intense interest in things as well. (sewing, wolves, Cosmic & frontier) I do think some of this is trauma, latching on to things to fill identity holes makes sense, but an overlap of neurodivergence makes sense here.

Liking routine is another trait that I think is coming from both places like w/ Amity. 

We also see stimming with Hunter and difficulty w/ literal thinking. 

I might do a little more work and break this down more I have more thoughts on Hunter I am not explaining well. 

Many:

We don't know very much about him, but I think it would make sense that there was some neurodivergence with him as well. we know he was good at making Luz feel seen and Camilla references him teaching Luz the stunt with meat. 

I don't feel I have a lot of information here to give in-depth answers. But I think we do see him sinking into a lot of hyperfocus on his abominations, I think this also allows him to hide away from the manipulation and abuse of his wife and blinded him to the trauma his three kids were going through. 

It does make sense though that he would have autism like Amity (and possibly her siblings). And honestly, I like the idea of him healing along with his children from the hostile home life, and being able to be a better father. and part of this could be him showing his autism in a healthy way that is not modified by trauma and allowing his children to do the same.

Charlie:

favorite color is "rainbow" (real answer is red)

tail sometimes manifests solely for stimming purposes

in case this gets disproven im listing it here: her legs are furred

all of them are autistic, emu also has adhd. all of them were diagnosed prior to main story but tsukasa, the way he found out he had the 'tism is from his fellow troupe members talking abt the shared autistic experience and kasa was like "wait.. that sounds like me.. ARE YOU SURE THESE ARE YOU AUTISTIC TRAITS??" and so the rest or wondersho told him "tsukasa.. honey, youre autistic" and they baked him a cake when he got diagnosed ‼️‼️ and by "they" i mean Nene, rui once almost blew up his house when microwaving something (accidentally, but still) so hes not even allowed to use a microwave let alone bake a cake. for Emu, oh sweet, sweet, emu. she almost put some sort of dairy product (i hc hes allergic to dairy) so she couldn't help that much (almost died from autistim cake x1)

when they gave him the cake, emu played the "YIPPEE" sound at max volume and almsot gave kasa a heart attack (almost died from autistim cake x2)

Uhh going with Peter since ehhh?!! This seal shrugs in ambivalence towards Andrey, these are probably gonna suck though because he’s not a character I feel like I have a firm grasp on? Also for this one I mention suicide near the end (nothing graphic dw) but I still do touch on it!

There’s this one art that the person who drew my icon did of Andrey being Italian and I’ve just never forgotten that art I’ll link it here if anyone wants but due to that artwork I tend to view Peter and Andrey as Italian (or like Italian and Russian…whatever I don’t give a fuck anymore)

He’s easily competing with Danill as the most mentally ill character in all of pathologic this man has the cohort, depression,Autistim,depersonalization/derealization and a mood disorder of some kind. He is extremely unwell

He’s got the worst back pain known to man…he’s almost 30 and he sleeps in a fucking bathtub that man’s body must be aching in pain!

On a similar note there’s this one art of of Anna in clown makeup painting his face that I really like so I think he’d let Anna fuck around with all sorts of face painting stuff on him. (Again another case of if anyone wants to see the art I’m talking about I’ll double back and link it.)

To me he’s bisexual and demiromantic and his gender remains an enigma to me….though I’m leaning towards both him a being trans man as of the current moment though this could change.

Speaking of that I tend to read his relationship with Farkhad as having been romantic….it didn’t end well….clearly. I’m very much of the opinion that he was the one to kill him as well and Andrey is just taking the credit/blame to protect his brother (not saying I don’t think Andrey is capable of murder it’s just in this specific situation I don’t think he did…)

He seems like he’d crack his joints often he’d probably freak out a person or two by cracking his neck randomly.

He constantly fluxes between avoiding eye contact completely to keeping eye contact too long and being unnerving

He cuts his own hair you look at his fuckass bangs in classic and say that looks like he didn’t do them at 3am while having some sort of episode! You tell me he didn’t!!!

In his teen years he slept on the floor for threeish years straight (this is inspired by something i actually did fun fact.)

Genuinely I do not see Peter post canon living very long no matter the ending you wanna consider canon…I don’t think he’s living afterwards, he’s either going to drink himself to death (which he’s already on the path to) or he takes his own life….theres no middle ground really he’s just a character I can’t see surviving for long post canon (which one day I will discuss that but today? Not the day)

I recall him being implied to have attempted in classic so honestly it’s not entirely inaccurate for me to say post canon he has a successful attempt.

Katrielle Layton is autistic:

She often behaves "inappropriately" without realising it. To name a few examples:

She doesn't seem to understand social rules. She often gets too close to other people, sometimes grabbing hold of them without warning. While they seem visibly uncomfortable, she doesn't seem to notice.

She gets so swept up in a case that she is often unable to control her volume. I don't think there's an episode where she doesn't raise her voice and shout about something.

She often directly asks people very personal and inappropriate questions. While it may be relevant to her investigation, she is often blunt and comes across as rude.

She definitely has a special interest/finds comfort in desserts. Every case she completes is always compared to a pudding of some kind, as it's what she understands.

She has routines that she follows exactly, such as refusing to investigate a case because she needed to stir her stew for exactly six hours. When she's solved a case she pulls the exact same poses.

She stims. A lot. When she is happy she visibly waves her arms or legs, most commonly when she is eating desserts or being praised.

Kat prefers to work alone and without help. She only has an assistant because Ernest refused to leave. Besides Ernest, her closest companion is a dog.

She often notices small details and patterns that others don't.

She is also known to have meltdowns and outbursts when things don't go her way or if she gets something wrong.

Tbh, while I love to analyze characters from a psychological standpoint and Im very in favor of the "Nidhiki most likely has SOME emotional/mental issues due to his upbringing and later experiences being traumatic a f" interpretation , I'm not all too keen in classifying What those issues exactly are and make direct comparasions with real life mental conditions. (save for aggressively seeing him with self-haterd issues/possible depression and some extreme moodswings)

This is for two reasons (techni ally three but two are strongly intermingled they might as well be one).

For starters, I'm not really sure if I could really put in any specific (save for again, having strong implication of self-haterd issues that could imply of depression of some kind). Bionicles setting, is relatively alien and strange, and as such it may be difficult to translate a characters upbringing and mental conditions into real life issues. There definitely can be pararells (see the Lewa and/or Takanuva having autistim and adhd respectively takes being so popular). But when it comes to Nidhiki it just becomes a bit difficult for me to psychoanalyze him. Sure, I do like the idea that he harshened due to his upbringing and later experiences, and that said experiences affected his mental state in a very powerful way, but Im not always sure what terms to use if talking w real psychological conditions and such.

But the second, much more important reason I don't concretely "diagnose" Nidhiki with anything is this: while I'm most likely neurodivergent/mentally ill myself, I am not officially diagnosed (tho Im making progress on that front.) As such, while I love analyzing and dissecting Nidhikis mental state more than anything else, I'm very careful to not make direct comparasions with any real life mental conditions.

Why? It's simple really. Nidhiki is a villain, and as such, I'm scared were I (again a person who isn't officially diagnosed so I dont like calling myself neurodivergent because Idl if I am) give him any official real life condition, people could see me as demonizing real life mentally ill people. I love headcanons and analyzing my favorite characters, but I'm scared that I'd step on wrong toes.

Will Lexi be sent to a public school or private school? Who would be the one to drop her off and/or pick Lexi up?

Lexi goes to a private school for kids that might not necessarily learn well or be accepted in a conventional school (gifted, kids with autistim, ADHD, dyslexia, kids that just learn differently)  A LOT of alien kids go there because of the great ESL classes they have (they also have a lot foreign language classes that are hard to find anywhere else, and Supergirl even does a guest lecture on Kryptonian). They hire a lot of diverse faculty to teach about different planets and cultures (needless to say, their astronomy program is fantastic!). Their tech program is out of this world (haha!)  and they have a lot of advanced computer systems from all the different planets. Anyway, it’s a lovely little school and Lexi loves it and she has all her aunts and uncles to help her with school projects.

Lena and the dogs walk her to school every morning because sometimes Kara has to leave out early for Supergirl business. And Kara picks her up because Lena has to work a little late sometimes. If Kara is too busy then Alex or Winn usually pick her up and take her to the DEO to hang out. She LOVES going to the DEO because she can go talk to the Alura AI and learn all about well, everything. and Winn teaches her computer stuff and Vasquez has the best snacks! And no one dares to mess with her because they know Alex will give them her patented death glare!

Side note, @kevlarknight94 and @nerdaday are my Lexington idea bouncers and I can never remember who I talked to about what, but chances are one or both of them have helped shape my Lexi headcanons!

By the way, what's your stance on headcanons about the other characters? Because I could make a pretty good argument for Hotch and Garcia being autistic as well, and I'm starting to think about adding Gideon and maybe Blake to the list too. Obviously this blog is focusing on Reid, but would it be okay if I were to submit/tag you in, say, a post about how the various other autistic members of the team interact with him? (Since that's something I'm planning on writing soon-ish.)

The primary focus of this blog will be Reid and his autism, though his relationship with others in correlation to autistim will be brought up, but I'm more than open to posts about other team members. ( they'll be put on their own 1,2,3, number system and tagged appropriately with their names ) just no unsubs, no matter how sympathetic they were.
