Why are girls with autism always forgotten about? Here is why! There is an odd occurrence that happens in regards to autism in girls. Autism is three times more likely to be diagnosed in meals and is females, this is a statistic that almost highlights that is Miss three times more common in males and is females. But this is just not the case autism in females is probably just as common but all of the diagnostic criteria is set up and was set up and founded on research based on males with the condition. Also autism diagnosis in females may be the last thing that a doctor will actually pursue when investigating behavioural traits in a female, usually they will go for personality disorders or generalised anxiety. Here are three reasons why females are probably forgotten about on the autism spectrum. 1.Old Data Most if not all of the data that was created on the research of autism to create the diagnostic criteria was based upon research of meals with autism spectrum conditions, this does not translate females. 2.Different Diagnostic criteria When diagnosing girls with autism, there will be different diagnostician criteria to consider that is different to that of males on the autism spectrum. 3.Masking Masking is where Autistc women will mask their issues and difficulties to try to fit in during social and public settings. If you have anything to add please pop it in a comment below, I read and respond to every comment. Follow @TheAspieWorld for more autism content. Exploring the Intersection of Family Resilience and Parenting Stress in ASD
Hello there, Tumblr community! Did you know that in the context of autism spectrum disorder (ASD), race and ethnicity have an effect on the relationship between parenting stress and family resilience? Let's get this party started!
Kim et al. (2019) shed light on the complex relationship between parenting stress and family resilience among parents of children with ASD in their study, emphasizing the critical role that race/ethnicity plays in this relationship.
Why is this important for the ASD community and interventions?
• Diverse Points of View
Understanding how race and ethnicity moderate these dynamics can help us gain a better understanding of the diverse experiences within the ASD community. This information is critical for developing more inclusive and culturally sensitive interventions.
• Handling Inequalities
The findings reveal significant differences between parents of white, African-American, and Hispanic children. To provide fair support and resources to families dealing with ASD challenges, these differences must first be acknowledged and addressed.
• Family Strengthening
Understanding how family resilience affects parenting stress emphasizes the importance of establishing strong family values. Giving families the tools they need to build resilience may help to alleviate the stresses that come with having an ASD child.
Spread the word and let's keep the conversation going!
Together, we can create a more inclusive and supportive environment for all families touched by ASD.

Environmental Factors and Autism: Unraveling the Complex Interplay 🌍
While genetics plays a significant role in autism, environmental factors also contribute to the risk and development of the disorder. Research is uncovering the intricate interplay between genetic and environmental influences.
Studies have identified various environmental factors that may contribute to the risk of autism, including prenatal exposures, maternal health, and early-life experiences. These factors can interact with genetic vulnerabilities, shaping the developmental trajectory of autism.
Understanding the environmental factors associated with autism is crucial for early identification, prevention, and intervention strategies. By identifying modifiable risk factors, researchers aim to create a supportive environment that promotes optimal outcomes for individuals on the autism spectrum.
Stay informed as we delve deeper into the complex relationship between genes and the environment in autism.

Here is everything I know about autism medication and if any work at all. Autism medication is a bit of a grey area but i have tried some herbal remedies to help with certain things in my life that worked. I am on medication for my ADHD and anger management but this is not specific to autism as there is no drug that works directly for autism. I have listed 3 of the best herbal natural remedies I have tried to help copy with traits of autism and i hope you enjoy them. 1.CBD I have spoken about CBD a lot and in lots of places in the world it is legal but in some areas it is still illegal so be careful. CBD is a food supplement derived from marijuana and can help with anxiety and low mood. Would recommend YUMI: UK → http://www.yuminutrition.com?aff=2 USA → http://yuminutrition.us?aff=6 2.5 HTP 5 HTP is a sleep remedy which is more nocturnal than taking melatonin. This will help with sleeplessness as lots of autistic people have trouble sleeping. The 5 HTP works really well for helping you sleep, but take it for a week before seeing the difference. Would recommend YUMI: UK → http://www.yuminutrition.com?aff=2 USA → http://yuminutrition.us?aff=6 3.Multivitamins I take a bunch of multivitamins to help boost my mood and keep my body healthy with nutrients and minerals. Autistic people are known for having poor diets due to sensory issues. If this is the case multivitamins are a good way to get nutrition into your body. Would recommend Simple Spectrum Supplements: https://amzn.to/3eU9A3F Please leave a comment if you have anything to add. Also follow @TheAspieWorld for more autism content. Spotlight - OAR
Posted September 27, 2019
Today we are shining a spotlight on a group that supports, encourages and advocates for people on the autism spectrum -- how they cope, how they live and even how they thrive.  The Organization for Autism Research – also known as OAR – sponsors special events, publishes news and research, and advocates for all members of the autism community.
Tumblr media
Founded by Vision
According to the OAR website, the organization was founded in December 2001 by a group of parents and grandparents of autistic children and adults.  Their shared vision and unique experiences drove their mission to use applied science to answer questions for other caregivers of those on the autism spectrum.
Tumblr media
OAR Features
There are many interesting and compelling touch points on the OAR website.  Here are just a few – but please visit their site for all they offer:
Research grants
Education
News & Events
How to get involved
Donations
Blog that inspires
Among all the interesting and educational material available from OAR, please take a moment to look at their blog.  It covers so much material and a light, quick-read format with topics from employment to health care, education, social impact and so much more.  Being a blogger myself I can certainly appreciate the work that goes into their site, but it’s made all the better with the passion that all OAR bloggers clearly share.  Stop by – it’s worth your time.
