Nonononono f*!k off. Stop acting like nonverbal people have easy solutions to their lack of verbality. Not everyone can use an aac device- some people struggle with spelling or can't spell at all, some people have motor skills issues that makes typing a nightmare that takes a long time, some can't articulate themselves without outside help. Learning sign is hard if you again have motor skills issues or struggle to make facial expressions that convey what your feeling (flat affect applies to more than just a person's voice- some people really struggle to make facial expressions and have stilted or strange body language- you people can understand why autistic people get burnt out from masking all day- you know often having to control their body language and make certain facial expressions etc yet you can't understand why nonverbal autistics can't just learn sign- a language very heavy on facial expressions and expressive body language?) also again spelling and motor skill issues are a pain and also a lot of families with deaf or nonverbal children refuse to learn sign for said children and I'm sorry in day to day life I haven't met many people who speak sign- yeah you can move to a community with a lot of deaf or nonverbal people that use sign but that's not always possible and its very limiting. And do I even have to explain the third one- autistic body language is confusing to neurotypicals and I hate the stereotype that its just so blunt and obvious/better than neurotypical communication- maybe that's what its like for you and your 'smart sheldon cooper/Wednesday Addams' style autism but not every autistic person 'says exactly what they mean' often times autistic people struggle with semantics and articulating sentences that make any sense! and all these misunderstandings surrounding stimming are annoying to!- spinning can be a 'happy' stim but it can also mean your overwhelmed or understimulated, a lot of people with autism have voices that lack inflections, mix that in with being unable to use words and no it does not help communicate their needs- f!*k off with acting like its easy not all autistic people who are nonverbal can spell, not all autistic people w are nonverbal have good motor skills and body language alone is never enough to convey a persons needs. Before anyone comes after me yes Sign is body language but its also actual symbols and can convey full thoughts and ideas and sentences and also body language is hard for a lot of autistic people to convey like stated above.

Not every form autistic communication is being 'logical' and unoffended because 'we're just more logical than those superfluous, shallow neurotypicals that let their feelings control them and are never direct about what they want-we value facts and logic unlike those butthurt neurotypicals' and being overly blunt- no a lot of autistic people find that communication is messy and the ways they can communicate are ineffective and your 'logical, facts dont care about your feelings' style of communication isn't as amazing as you think it is. Stop speaking over nonverbal autistics- their is no real perfect solution to them not being able to speak. And I'm gonna say it- while not all nonverbal people are low functioning or high support needs or whatever the new term is-being nonverbal is a massive disadvantage and having your disability be visible like that is scary in many situations and being unable to communicate your needs can make it impossible to meet your needs-

I’ve thought about it some more and I want to rephrase: the specific thing about the way Dungeon Meshi handles gender and autism that makes me bonkers is the blunt way the author states the differences between Laios and Falin’s treatment by the world. If Falin had been the one to try and carve out a space for the both of them, she would have been dismissed at best. But Laios was the one to try that, and for the crime of being a big autistic man, he was beaten for it. Many- most, even- aspects of this world and the real world favor men, when a gender or presentation is favored. Misogyny is extremely present in so many of our lives. But it is naive to pretend that there are no downsides to being seen as a man, especially one of color, or one that’s not neurotypical, or any number of things. Falin faces unique struggles as an autistic woman, usually internal, and usually to do with the social pressures placed on her to be seen as nothing but agreeable. But Laios faces unique struggles as an autistic man, like getting the shit kicked out of him or punched in the face or having people plot to kill him.

I’m super not trying to say that either has it better. Facing conflict because you are incapable of not presenting as exactly the kind of person you are isn’t inherently worse or better than being unable to present at all, trapped within yourself. But the way it’s presented in Dungeon Meshi is fascinating to me.

Ok so first of all I want you to know I GET IT. I HAVE SEEN HOW BAD IT CAN SUCK FOR AUTISTIC MEN IN A LOUD AND OPEN AND PHYSICAL WAY and how NO ONE FUCKING DOES ANYTHING ABOUT IT because Guys Are Supposed To Be Tough and You Should Just Stop Acting Weird And Having Feelings and all that bullshit!!!!!!! I watched that happen to someone very close to me over the course of My Whole Childhood. It's fucking dismal and it makes me really happy to see a character like Laios where those struggles are front and center.

BUT! I also want to point out that your wording here, altho it is not your intention to belittle Falin's suffering, makes it seem like her/typical autistic women's suffering is wholly immaterial. Which is NOT true. It's not that Falin's emotional suffering is equal to Laios' physical suffering, it's that their autism/neurodivergence makes them both vulnerable to physical AND emotional abuse, but in different ways because of gendered social dynamics.

(Quick aside: non-autistic men and women both experience physical as well as emotional abuse because of their percieved gender as well, btw. Yes, men get priveleges, but patriarchy harms them, too. Due to the different gendered social expectations placed on men and women, yes, men are more likely to escalate social conflict to physically fighting each other. But the same way that doesn't mean that there's NO emotionally abusive aspect to men's social punishment for being too different, the fact that women are expected to use emotionally abusive tactics to address social conflict does NOT mean that there is no physically abusive aspect to the ways that autistic women are mistreated.

The same way Laios' inability to hide his autistic traits puts him at risk for both getting the shit beaten out of him AND being lied to for purely social reasons, Falin's coping strategy of being agreeable puts her at risk for being shunned emotionally AND enduring physical harassment.

If Falin had tried to actively & forcefully carve out a place for herself and Laios in the world, dismissal is NOT the worst that could have happened to her. What Falin's childhood experience being subjected to folk rituals by her mother and rejection from the town REALLY shows us is that, if Falin was TOO unnacceptable to the people around her it would have become someone else's responsibility to "fix" or "cure" her. Her parents', or a doctor's, or a betrothed.

I'll try to find it later, but in one of the bonus comics where we learn more about the Touden sibs' relationships to their parents, one of the things we learn is that their mother tried to "treat" Falin's magical abilities using a variety of ineffective folk cures. Their mother felt pressured to do this by the townspeople's very negative response to Falin's magical abilities, which along with their father seeking advice from a Gnome, proves that the threat against Falin was not completely in Laios' head.

Falin says she saw this as quality time with her mother, but...I mean, girls with unhealthy relationships to their bodies often see childhood dieting and clothes shopping with their mothers as quality time, even if that "quality time" instilled in them a deep-seated belief that they should mistreat their bodies and view themselves as objects to be consumed. Just because Falin thinks of it as quality time now does NOT mean that there was no damage done.

In a world where her social and fiscal autonomy are already highly limited, Falin's physical autonomy is threatened by her neurodivergence, just in a more roundabout way than Laios' is.

So I'm a teen and I'm going to be working soon-ish (depending upon other life factors for the most part) and I was wondering if you knew of any jobs that are like sensory friendly? A lotta teen jobs are like working as a cashier and I know I couldn't do that and I wouldn't be able to be a lifeguard in the summer so I don't know anymore.

I'm not autistic and I don't have ADHD but I have an auditory processing disorder which makes it very hard to follow conversations and makes lots of noise and loud noises super overwhelming.

Unfortunately I’ve never been employed and I receive SSI (social security income). So I’m not familiar with this. But I did find some jobs that could be easily and hopefully not too overwhelming.

I'm definitely a cunt, and I know some people are gonna be like "how dare u!" but luckily I'm anon, so there's that. But I really hate how obvious it is with a lot of people when they fake having ADHD or ADD, autism, DID, depression, tourette, schizophrenia, BPD, the list goes on, probably the entire fucking psychologists handbook by now. I mean, it's already painfully obvious that shits afoot when it goes from 1 person talking about their experiences to 1000 with all their super special quirks and haha look at me I'm so special, even more special than everybody else. And then a few months most of the those 1000 new people are just back to posting as usual before they had their fun cosplaying as having a random condition.

Worst part is these assholes get to just walk away in a few years, while people who're actually dealing with these mental disorders, illnesses, being neuro divergent have to still deal with it in their day to day life, and we got to deal with the added stigma from all these larpers completely butchering what it's actually like to have these conditions.

And all the people who say that alllll the self diagnosis are definitely just as valid as a real evaluation. I'm for self advocacy and saying maybe I might have this. Trying to find ways to cope with a shit situation, even if you can't afford a real evaluation. That's how many people actually find the strength or the will to get actual help in some form. But people claiming to 100% have a mental disorder, neuro divergence, mental illness, whatever the fuck, because they clapped to the beat of a song, or started breakdancing when the beat drops in some shitty pop song can fuck off. Especially those shit ass videos that are like "if you breathe air, and drink water you might just have aaaaallllll the mental stuff haha knock yourself out, btw besties all the professionals who spent 10+ years studying this shit are wrong, no exception." and then pretend that people with real evaluations shouldn't speak because they have privilege, like what in the fuck?

Self diagnosis can't ever be as safe as getting a real evaluation because there's a too large overlap between vastly different conditions, and just because you have some symptoms from the currently most popular trend on tiktok, doesn't mean you can't have a completely different condition with completely different needs. Saying you might have something is valid, saying you 100% without a doubt have smth bc the internet told you is dangerous and at worst might actively harm you.

She doesn't say anything else. Morgan nods in understanding. They don't ask how he found out. They wouldn't. There are no reassurances xe could possibly give, not any that would mean anything. At least, not right now. Instead, they stand up. "I'm gonna grab you some water. Alright, sunshine? You stay right here." She acknowledges their departure with just a small nod. Instead electing to stare blankly at the wall again. Morgan walks into the kitchen to grab a cup. They'd known Sol had a lot more to him. Xe always had a vague sense of what could have caused some of her behaviors. It's unsurprising, at least to them, that he'd struggled socially growing up. The specifics are what interests xem. It's depressing, to say the least. The pressure to conform, to be liked, It's something Morgan has always despised. They'd rather be themself and drive people away than give in to what others expect from xem. That mindset has caused issues in the past, sure, but it's worth it. They don't think Sol would agree. For as long as Morgan has known her, Sol has been a people pleaser. It's clear in the way he holds himself around those who's opinions matter to her. It shows in how she smiles and laughs to hide any emotion that he doesn't think is "necessary." That's not to say he never shows negative emotion or that she can't assert herself. He wears anger well. When someone crosses a line or ignores a clear boundary, she isn't afraid to do something about it. They've seen it themself. Too many people have come out of an interaction with Sol with a broken nose for xem to say otherwise. Whether those lines are drawn well or if there's enough of them, however, is a different story. Not to mention the attachment.

(He's spent so long trying to be normal for other people that he practically throws himself at anyone who doesn't hate her "differences". She's so desperate for someone to know him that he lets too much slide. I think she knows that as well as I do.) By the time Morgan returns with the water, and a couple of painkillers, Sol has passed out in her seat. They smile, setting the water and painkillers down on a nearby counter for when he wakes up. They grab a blanket and place it gently over his shoulders. They'll have a lot to talk about once she's awake and sober. There's no way xe are going to pretend nothing happened, come late evening. For now, though, they'll sit and watch over her. Maybe even take a nap of their own once they process everything. Morgan glances over at Sol. "Rest well."

Sol knocks harshly on the door.

He takes a deep breath. A futile attempt to calm her already fraying nerves.

Backstory: growing up kraken was raised in a rich family only child to two wonderful parents who were advocating for echo friendly things. His father was a multi owner of tech companies that aimed to keep echo friendly.

While his mother was a fashion designer who reuse fabric and other things to not create waste unlike others. Both were doting and loving parents who loved their son to death. Both did their best to try and raise kraken right.

Of course he took it more extreme, always asking what it would be like to have fangs of a snake , the ability to shoot blood out the eyes like thorny devils. Ect

This landed him as the weird kid in school where kids to teen years mocked and taunted him for being so weird. The highschool years he was very much bullied for having the name Mikhail because during the time he grew up. His parents fell for some scams landing them in being less rich and almost poor. Only thing keeping the family up float was the fact they could work many jobs in their field.

Due to being bullied and picked on it caused kraken to despise other people and see them as nothing but dirt to walk on. Focusing on his interests he was able to get into engineering using nature to fuel his works and machines while also dabbling in biology to craft serums and DNA extraction methods.

By the time he was an adult his parents had fully become poor and were living off government support to keep their son going to the colleges that accepted him for his strange smart mindset. Which kraken graduated with no problem and got himself into a science route job to earn stable earnings.

He became more sadistic when he turned 21 , where accidentally running over a homeless person led him cutting up the body and finding out how humans are not so different from animals ....and his deranged idea of immorality clicked.

This crash has caused urban shade trouble to hide and cover up as they didn't want it to be public. Their scientist caused a crash being drunk and on drugs. This crash also horribly disfigured and left kraken in horrible condition where to be useful he paid with what money to get his body cybernetically enhanced to walk and move again.

He also has obtained the fear of death which spurred him to want to focus more on his fountain of youth project.

He was demoted down a rank to where he would be constantly supervised till he can prove he can make up for his mistakes with HQ and the leaders. During this time he would run into Damien Scott for one year spent as bickering enemies eventually falling for each other. The second year being married life.

When z-13 caused the breach, kraken was 55 and at the time his life work was supposed to be used to test on another subject. Leaving the precious serum of immorality in the hidden parts of hadal blacksite Lab. To get his work back, Kraken hired an expendable to try and get his work back when retrieving the crystal.

During this deal he found out the person aka allo nanol he crashed into was used as the cover up for the crash. To make the person pay he handpicked allo to become an Expendable with the paid expendable he sent.

This failed of course and caused kraken to be enraged knowing his work was just swept away. Later only to find out the person he threw under the buss , allo nanol, had been injected with his life work.

Now bitter and deranged to grasp immortality he chased after allo to get back what he wants and needs to obtain his chance at everlasting life.

Throughout all my life I’ve always been interested in nonhuman creatures. When I was young and my autism was in its rawest form I would often pit the ancient ancestors of animals against their modern equivalent, either in comparison or in battle(I remember doing a Rhino versus Triceratops once). As I grew older, and the internet allowed me to learn of the creatures of horror movies without being horrified, my attention shifted to that of the alien. I loved learning about the Xenomorphs and Predators, or the aliens from A Quiet Place. Recently, however, a new alien species has taken my interest, though not from horror film, but kinky horror fanfiction. I am of course, talking about the Affini from the Human Domestication Guide, created by GlitchyRobo.

The Affini of HDG are such an interesting species. Despite their peace-desiring nature we have to assume they were the top of the food chain wherever they came from. The strength to do what they do is built into their very biology. Super strength, ability to run absurd speeds, even the regeneration—their origins, whatever they are, were NOT peaceful, guaranteed. Not to mention the biological drugs that exist within them that can be used through either their flowers or needles hidden within their vines that can pierce human skin almost unnoticed. Another noteworthy trait is their ability to mimic or exist as different species of plants, like a fern Affini or a rose Affini. This level of adaptation mixed with the usage of drugs suggests that their origins could have been as prey, which would match with our known plants, unable to move from predators and thus evolving traits to deter them. The strength and speed, however, are things I’m not smart enough to explain away. Once they gained them, however—combined with their adaptation and ability to deceive using drugs, they would’ve been near unstoppable, similar to how ancient humans hunted megafauna and old predators such as the Sabertooth to extinction thanks to our newly evolved adaptive nature.

Their personality is curious, however—for a species in Post-Scarcity, I can understand the want and desire to help other aliens, including humans. But the specific pet dynamic they desire seemingly clashes with their message of helping sophonts(universal term for a non-Affini) be the best they can be. It almost seems instinctual, similar to humans and their pack-bonding ability. They desire other species to be at their peak, but refute certain things that don’t align with their idea, such as humans free will to make bad decisions at the cost of others and/or themselves. While modern human morals would agree with not wanting bad things to happen, the moderate to great usage of drugs the Affini are known for is less than acceptable.

The unfortunate fact is, any and all speculation about the Affini’s origins or why they do what they do is unknown. Given their extremely advanced technology and knowledge, it could be difficult to even know if they were a plant based species in the first place, or if becoming immortal through reblooming as vine creatures was a scientific advancement or not.

Granted, I’m analyzing a species from a hypno kink universe, and I shouldn’t expect crazy world building, but it’s just so much fun!

It appears that the low gravity environment the Affini hail from caused the evolution of prehensile limbs, and the xenodrugs might be related to their pollen from earlier days of reproduction using “beeple.” Speaking of that subject, their use of beeple lead to the cultural urge of master/pet dynamics, which slightly confirms my original belief that the desire felt more instinctual than purposeful.

Alfonse: For obvious reasons. He's killed multiple gods for disrupting the peace and in the name of saving those he cares for, I don't think he would let a little unfathomable horror stop him from getting his kissys. I think at first he would struggle a little, sort of a "is this okay..." but quickly find his feelings for you outweigh any moral panic he might have!

Lif: Same as above, really, but has no qualms about it. Probably even more excited than his alive counter part. Would never admit it aloud, but it comforts him that you're 'different' like him. Makes him feel like the two of you belong together :) truly freak4freak here.

Cholè: Miss "my dick has lead me places I wouldn't go without a lance". Finds you absolutely fascinating! Surely you came right out of a story book (and perhaps that's true, just not the ones she was reading). Being a cool little cryptid just makes you that much more interesting in her eyes. May have some autism moments with you (what are you scales made out of? Can you retract your claws like a cat? How come it hurts the back of my eyes if I stare at you too long?).

Robin: Honestly, it's more of a kinship thing for them that quickly devolves into them thinking up all the strange things you might be able to do to them. It's cute, watching them ask questions all scholastic like but when you get down to the nitty gritty, all they've really asked is: when are you going to pin me against the wall?

Grima: Just as horny for you as Robin, but Grima is all about proving they're cooler and better than you while they do it. They may or may not be, but it does result in a lover who is eager dominate and please you, as often as it will take. This of course can be very good, or very bad-- monsters like you and they are often insatiable.

Edelgard: Anyone willing to become/forced to be the monster can find the beauty in those born such a way. She's never shied away from a challenge, and you prove to be just that. But more so, seeing you be so unabashedly you, and doing your utmost to protect the people you care about-- gives her the strength to face what she must. I have always been called weird all my life and when I read your book Unmasking Autism, a lot of things made sense and I thought I may be autistic. When I mentioned this to 3 of my friends, I was met with “Try getting a professional opinion”, “You are being delusional” and “Stop giving yourself white people diseases”. This made me notice that people liked me for the strengths of my maybe autism and for the bad sides, they would tell me to get my shit together and stop being weird and unreliable. I am a 32-year-old Kenyan woman and I think I am super burnt out from masking and I just want to be alone all the time. I don’t speak to my mum or my sister either. My mum (who is a clinical officer) told me to get off anti-depressants and pray to god to heal me. I don’t believe in god, I love women and I want to spend the rest of my life with a woman and I could be autistic. These are things that won’t board well with my bible-thumping, homophobic family members. Lately, whenever someone asks me to come to my house, I immediately feel attacked because my house is the only safe space I have. 

Sorry for the gibberish. I guess what I am trying to say is, THANK YOU so much for writing about unmasking autism because it’s probably saved a 32-year-old child in Nairobi��Kenya. I use the word ‘child’ because I feel like I am a child who is reparenting herself. I will do a Richter 1-10 scale, with 1 being “will kill you” and 10 being the softest fluffiest cuddle you can imagine 💖✨

Peter: 3/10. He is fine with familial hugs (biological and crew), and is always okay with being close to Benji. Anyone else is going to lose a limb.

Benjamin: 2/10. Only Peter (and sometimes the crew) is allowed to get hugs. Even then, it’s about half tolerable with Peter. He will probably still kick them in the shins, the balls, elbow their face, all while screaming, “GET OFF OF ME, YOU BLOODY WANKER!!!”

Davey: 9/10. Amazing dad hugs, may try to tousle you around a bit, rustle your hair, small arm punches, rough affection. Best boat dad ✨

Ali: 8/10. A lovable guy, will give very warm hugs—the type to scoop you up and swing you around in genuine joy. Super open to cuddles. The only reason he’s not a perfect 10/10 on the cuddle scale is that he has a small chance to crush you with his raw genie strength.

Noah: 5/10. Doesn’t let anyone close enough, really. Only cuddles with Ali when watching a NatGeo documentary on the couch under some blankets.

Tenshi: 10/10. The perfect hugger and cuddler. He is like a cloud, a sweet cotton candy fluff. May squeak in absolute happiness at receiving cuddles 💖✨

There's so many things I wanna yap about because of JJK's latest leaks, but right now i wanna just talk about SukuIta and their Dynamic in a strangely healthy way.

Specifically with the notion that Sukuna is an 'Irredeemable/imperfect' victim and yuuji whose the 'perfect' victim. Yuuji during chapter 268 accepted sukuna and his flaws.

There has yet to be any other person who did anything close to that for Sukuna.

As someone who struggles with low empathy, autism, and had an NPD abusive mother and sister, seeing Yuuji accept Sukuna and basically propose to him pure love like Rika and Yuuta had for wach other? Its so fucking refreshing and Exhilerating ( and feeds my i can fix him martyr complex lol)

Yuuji is someone who geniunly cares, even for those who are imperfect victims, thats the most beautiful thing you can tell to a survior of abuse, and sukuna reacted excatly how someone whose never been shown non-transactional kindess.

With anger, not too differently than a wounded animal who only knows to fear and has to get stronger to protect themself.

Remember, he even said he was an unwanted child, and that he was only wanted when they could use him for his strength (im paraphrasing that last bit but its p close) He probably is a victim of historical abelism because of his strength and possibly being born with two arms and two eyes, which is why he placed so much value on it! It became a tool to let him survive.

But sukuna's only done that. He's only ever survived, he never truly lived.

My god Yuuji giving him the space to let him comeback, but not forcing him is such a foreing type of kindess because he's giving sukuna the ability of choice.

Im half baked and high so this might come off super incohernetly, but they are THE SHIP and its euphoric to watch Yuuji not give up on Sukuna.

From one imperfect victim to one imperfect monster, Sukuna i wish you were given kindess and the space to have vulnerabilities.

Yuuji, i wish all the good in the world for you.

Gege, i may sometimes not like your writing choices, but thank you for JJK. I got into it late, but it's been a beautiful ride of bullshit, joy, and tears. I can't wait to see what's in store next for Gege and his writing, even if it's tragic in its beauty.

Autism rant time

Part one:

Let's talk about why the designs are different based on philosophical reasons and the war at the time. The star destroyer is a representation of oppression, Its sign is designed to oppress worlds and destroy worlds from orbit or at least destroy bases and cities. It has no front facing turbo lasers and if it does they're extremely weak. All the turbo lasers face downwards towards a planet or a base of some kind. It is meant to show up the strength of the empire and to keep people in check, always reminding that in a single notice could wipe out your existence. In addition The hanger bay that houses all the transportation for shuttles used to distribute soldiers, heavy armor, light armor and artillery of all kinds, making it very easy to release a swarm of imperial might onto a planet to oppress or conquer a world. This Represents The empire's philosophy of control: you'll have 1 officer in control of everything, all the goings on in the ship, maybe a separate force commander used to command the troops on the ground, maybe they would be on the bridge Usually once the battle begins they would be on the ground. 

Now for the venerator, The venator is based in the philosophy of the republic which is strength through unity and freedom, The best example used with strength of unity  and freedom is the 2 bridges designed 1 bridge controls all the going on the ship the other 1 controls the district distribution of fighters and transports. this allows for an easy and equal distribution of power, Now factoring in they usually there would be a some type of Jedi general on the ship and they would be controlling everything going on in the ground or they would substituting for the other naval officers that would be controlled the fighters depending on the Jedi's style and the battle going on but you would have 1 naval officer controlling the ship. Needs and then 1 Jedi  or naval officer controlling the fighters and their needs. Seldom would a Jedi have control over a ship It was rare and generally frowned upon. 

Now let's talk about the other designs And why They were different  for starters the venerator came first of course it's going to.be different and the type of war was different while both were a clash of ideologies the wars were fought drastically different. The empire was trying to oppress its people as well as crush a rebellion. The republic was Trying to reunite the separating systems And generally wanted to build a ship that was great for offense and defense and all of its cannons, well almost all of them. Were frontwards facing  And the hanger containing fighters Was directly in the center (that little red part that red line opens up for anyone that hasn't seen it before) It would open up and all the fighters and transports would come out of that But a lot of times When a battle was over they would just land and release most of the soldiers that way. But the vanguard would be dropped off through shuttles and gunships.

 This perfectly shows the difference of war, I will reiterate, both were clashes of ideologies. The difference is the rebellion was trying to overthrow an empire that was corrupt and oppressive. While the republic was also corrupted and oppressive, But so was the confederacy of independent systems. So it was a much more equal conflict And it was fought that way, With tons of ships battle battling With tons of ships battle, side-by-side trying to constantly 1 up the other. when the empire would just send out a super weapon to crush a small fleet Ships held together with duct tape and a dream. Continuing this The empire Again wanted to crush their opponents And remind everyone their place. While the republic  Wanted to crush their  Opponent Through Strategy and tactics to show why they were the better choice.
