i would love to see australian animal patches
wombat… ringtail possum… bandicoot.. redback spider.. cool birds
I would love that also! Australian wildlife has been on my long-list since forever, so to the top of that list it goes, anonymous antipodean and/or australophile!
I have unpublished Kangaroo and Quokka designs from early days, and an Ibis I've been hoping to place — with adjustments, I think that motif could do right by the unfairly-maligned but delightfully-monikered "Bin Chicken."
Wombat is just a sketch, and my sense at first was that it would work up much too large, but then I looked up "wombat scale" and
I see that this fear was unfounded.
I confess also that, when I searched for a "ringtail possum," I expected someone with a striped tail, like a lemur? instead…
i immediately lost The Game.
I'll definitely have a go at Bandicoot and Redback Spider! Off the top of my head I'll also be looking into a Koala, an Emu, a Kookaburra, a Dingo, an Echidna, a Tasmanian Devil and…
… we'll see who stands out in this first round, but if anyone has species to suggest (especially herps, birds and invertebrates), design critiques to offer, or advice and or resources to share on Indigenous protocol/preferences vis-à-vis representation and naming, I'd be very happy for that input!

Cream Colored Woodpecker
Native to South America, the Cream Colored Woodpecker is a hunter of insects. They will often feast on nests of ants and termites, breaking into their carefully built structures in order to get a tastey meal. The females tend to not have the red patch on their cheeks like the males do, so they don’t look as much like Pilachu. Learn More!
Australian Ibis
Sometimes called the “bin chicken”, the Australian ibis is closely related to the African Sacred Ibis. Despite this, they are in fact native to Australia. It’s nicknamed the bin chicken because it will sometimes rummage through garbage when living in urban areas. But, in the wild Australian Ibis eat a large range of invertebrates. This includes the Cane Toad. Yes, THAT came toad. The highly toxic one. Learn More!

The Australian White Ibis is NOT most commonly known as that. It is a majestic beautiful creature and is admired and respected as such
What this is is a case of gross ego trips of idiots who are a loud minority constantly telling forgeniners horrible things like this for a weird ego trip.
They are a loud minority.
And yes it is disgusting of them.
The vast majority of Australians are disgusted with this horrible behaviour and disrespectful treatment of animals and native animals that this small, small loud minority perpetrate and perpetuate
The reality for all animals, especially the Australian White Ibis, is invasion and displacement. Climate change etc are also factors,
But the central element of this is that their habitat was cleared yet they are still trying to live in the place that was always theirs, and unfortunately the people who moved into that space are largely unintellectual - idiots- non intelligent group of humans who get a weird ego trip from doing things like this .
It is the same as raccoons, whose land got cleared and humans moved in, not leaving any habitat or space for them and they are still trying to live and subsist in their space- because moving elsewhere isn't viable because that belongs to other species or groups, or has also been cleared, and these innocent animals are just trying to survive and must resort to finding food in the only available places left :rubbish bins.
And these idiots will decry anyone pointing this out as "ruining a bit of fun or sense of humour" without ever realising or taking responsibility for how unbelievably damaging spreading this falsehood is, to the species, to its conservation efforts, to younger generations, to foreigners, that it leads to a devaluing or at the very least encourages the devaluing of an innocent species that has already been so detrimentally affected by human destruction, they have been forced into this very situation by human destruction and theft and are now unbelievably made fun of by the very people who put them in this tragic situation in the first place and continue to exploit it.
Real Australians with real empathy, ethics, morality and intellect love the Australian Ibis and all our native animals, trees, species, habitat and land.
There's a lot to do to restore everything, but it would be really helpful if internationally you don't give these people more of an ego trip by spreading this as truth, because they will only do it more. Don't give them the platform.
They very honestly think they're the only ones here
But the real truth is that they are the smallest minority, with the loudest voices, and clearly nothing else to do.
nothing has fucked me up more than knowing the australian white ibis has a near-identical sister species called the african sacred ibis. the african sacred ibis is associated with thoth, ancient god of wisdom and reason. the australian white ibis is most commonly referred to as a “bin chicken”.

Fujitsu Hard Drive MPB3021AT – Attempted Data Recovery
The Australian Ibis is the best bird wandering the streets. It overcame adversity and now excels at being a hunter on Sydney nature strips. Perhaps irrelevant to this post but cool nonetheless. Unlike this broken hard drive, the Fujitsu MPB3021AT 2.16GB, which we are looking at today.

I sketched these back around when Dragonflight first came out, and decided to touch some of them up a bit so I could actually post something lol
I was trying to figure out what type of dragon Quaz would have if he absolutely HAD to ride one (since he much prefers to get around using mechanical mounts), and ended up basing his velocidrake off the ICONIC bin chicken (aka australian white ibis) after I saw you could give them white feathers in game. It would be happy eating whatever garbage he feeds it and would generally be a good enough mount for a goblin who didn't really know or care how to look after it. So definitely not the smartest or fastest dragon but very low maintenance.
Also I never really thought of what he'd call it but probably something stupid like "Stinkbeast" because bin chickens smell funny even when they aren't eating out of bins. They also make loud honking sounds so of course the dragon would too but probably even louder and more annoying because it's a dragon :3

Im very amused by the fact that Australia's beloved bin chicken is so closely related to the African Sacred Ibis. So I've drawn them as cousins.
