He's also the first to bring back wounded soldiers and will never leave someone behind, His own life be damned, He's never left a soldier behind and he doesnt plan on it. If he has to throw you over his shoulder as he guns down the enemies he will. He is also known for just grabbing snakes and throwing them out of their way like their footballs or, If he likes them, taking them back to the base. Backstory: Arlo grew up in the shit backwards part of Australia. He was the class clown, and has always had a good attitude. When he graduated though he realized he never really knew what he wanted to do. So, he did the next best thing and joined the Army. While in bootcamp he meet Ruby. Despite Ruby constantly pushing him away and telling him to shut up he persisted and soon won over the mans heart. They spent the rest of their training together and getting in trouble. Aka, Arlo doing something stupid and Ruby bailing him out.

THE GREAT OCEAN WALK & A GREAT AUSTRALIAN STORY
The story of a place is often lost in time, leaving us to drift through unaware of the past. Or we’re left with names and dates, that don’t really tell us very much.
Which is a shame, as there are lessons to be learned from the past, and behind every dry historical fact there’s often a genuine human story begging to be told. If only we knew who to talk to, and what questions to ask.
On the Great Ocean Walk, for example, when you finally reach the remote, and beautiful, Milanesia Beach, you may notice a little house nestled comfortably into the landscape. Just beyond the grasses at the edge of the beach, it’s white stone walls in stark contrast to the dark green forest rising steeply behind it.
And you may, with a little imagination, be able to see a family spending time there.
“…digging up worms in the sand, using them to catch trout, or eels that dad used to catch sharks while mum was off looking for crayfish. Everything cooked over a bonfire at night, and a game of cricket the next day before heading back to the homestead up the hill, where normal life resumed…”
Yes on looking at that picturesque little cottage, you can easily picture those idyllic family moments playing out in front of those cheery white walls. And you’d be right. That is what happened there, and still does.
What you’d never guess, however, is why that little house was built in the first place. You’d never guess that it was built by a father, to honour his son, who died on the battlefield at Gallipoli when he was only 22 years of age…
A young man goes to war
Eliot Gratton Wilson was working on a cattle station when the first world war began. He was 21, and, you can imagine, full of adventure, as only seven weeks later he signed up, enlisted in the Army and joined the 8th Australian Light Horse Regiment.
On the 25 February 1915 he boarded the Star Of Victoria and sailed to Egypt, and soon after his Regiment was sent to Gallipoli, where he led one of the first waves of attack in the infamous, and deadly, Battle of the Nek.
War correspondent and official Australian historian, Charles Bean, described the fact that anyone reached the enemy trenches in that initial assault, was a miracle. Yet two soldiers did exactly that, and one of them was Eliot.
‘On the other flank, near the seaward cliff, Lieutenant Wilson of the 8th [Light Horse Regiment] also reached the enemy’s trench and was seen sitting with his back to the parapet, beckoning to others to come to him. Shortly afterwards he was killed by a bomb from the Turkish line.’
Lieutenant Wilson died on the 7th August 1915, twelve days short of his 23rd birthday, in a battle that came to be known as ‘one of the bravest actions in the history of the war’. He died along with nine other officers in that charge, and by the time it was over, 154 of the 300 men in his Regiment were dead too. Gone too soon, every single one of them.
A father follows him
John Gratton Wilson was a doctor, politician, farmer, husband and a father, and he was 50 years old when he heard of his son’s death. And, while you never know what goes through a person’s mind when tragedy strikes, perhaps, the fact that he enlisted himself a couple of years later, even at that age, provides some indication of his mindset.
Doctor Wilson served, and survived two years of active duty in the war, and then returned home to build a humble beach house to honour his son. He went on to live a long and full life, passing on at the age of 85, and he’s buried in the Moonlight Heads Cemetery that you’ll also pass, on the Great Ocean Walk.
Now there’s no way you could know any of that, of course, and neither would we if it wasn’t for Georgie Beale, who spent her childhood running around Milanesia Beach, whose great grandfather built that little house, and who we’re very thankful to, for sharing her stories with us.
Growing up on the beach
Her family has lived there for six generations now. They’ve witnessed the changes through time, and often been active participants in the events that have shaped the landscape.
Growing up in a place like that, it seems, sends you in a certain direction in life. Georgie has spent most of her time in conservation and coastal management. She created education programs, bringing school groups down to the coast, showing them what there is to protect in this wild and rugged place.
And now she’s a guide for Auswalk. Taking people along the Great Ocean Walk, sharing the knowledge gained over a lifetime on the coast, and little bits of family history too.
“I feel like this is an accumulation of everything I’ve done, it’s just perfect and I love it.”
“The natural beauty of the place, and the ocean has a strong draw for me. Growing up we quickly learned to both read, and respect the ocean, as it could be very calm and soothing one minute, then wild and dangerous the next.”
The shipwreck coast
Of course, it’s been a wild and dangerous ocean since long before Georgie came along. When sailing to Australia from the ‘old world’, you’d head south along the coast of Africa to begin with, perhaps re-provision in Cape Town, and then prepare yourself for a wild ride as you drop into the roaring 40s, and fly east towards Australia.
When you finally popped out of this highway of the sea, if you were heading toward the east coast you’d be faced with a choice. Go north of King Island, or keep it to your port side and approach the continent further along.
Heading north became known as threading the needle, and it’s a decision that sent 638 ships to the bottom of the sea, that we know of anyway. Indeed Matthew Flinders, who’d seen a fair few things in his day, said he had ‘seldom seen a more fearful section of coastline.’
The Great Ocean Walk takes you along this particularly brutal stretch of water, and there are reminders of the shipwrecks all along, from place names and cemeteries, to actual anchors sticking out of the rock.
Once again there are stories behind it all, and you’ll discover many of them on your way as you walk the 104kms from Apollo Bay on the East, to Port Campbell on the West. And, surprise surprise, Georgie’s family were involved too…
The wreck of the Fiji
The Fiji left Hamburg on the 22nd of May 1891, bound for Melbourne with a cargo of dynamite, whisky and 400 pianos – amongst other less interesting items. Almost four months later Captain Julius Gebauer was the first to swim ashore after she sank, just off Wreck Beach, ironically enough.
Georgie’s great, great grandparents, Christopher Hodgson and Emily Bowker, had obviously witnessed the event and were there to help rescue the survivors.
The good Captain took a shine to their daughter, Ada, and later on referred to her as ‘the girl who first set his heart aflutter’. Unfortunately his advances were not welcomed by the family, but he was infatuated with Ada, and it must have been reciprocated to some extent as they corresponded over the years, sending letters back and forth until the end.
Letters that Georgie still has to this day, a reminder that history is made by ordinary people, doing extraordinary things, driven by love, honour, duty, family and sacrifice. The same emotions that move us today, and, I think, help us connect to history, and truly bring it to life.
As Rudyard Kipling said, “If history were taught in the form of stories, it would never be forgotten.”. I couldn’t agree more.
Cape Otway Lighthouse
Eventually, and not before time, someone decided it would be a good idea to build a lighthouse at Cape Otway, to try and prevent all of these disastrous shipwrecks that were happening on a frequent basis.
You’ll reach it only a few days after starting the walk, and to get there you’ll make your way through the Great Otway National Park, surrounded by some of the most magnificent trees on the planet, the enormous Eucalypts known as Mountain Ash.
Standing tall, and straight, the highest Mountain Ash reaches almost 100 metres into the sky, and only the Coastal Redwoods in Northern California can put them in the shade.
That might not always have been the case though. It’s possible a Mountain Ash was once the tallest tree in the world, but unfortunately, many of the true giants were cut down in the 1800s. They were so big, in fact, that many of their stumps were simply too big to remove. Keep an eye open, you might be able to spot one slowly disappearing into the undergrowth as you head to the Lighthouse…
Built in 1848, the Cape Otway Lightstation was the second lighthouse built on the Australian mainland, and although it was decommissioned in 1994, it’s still the oldest working lighthouse on the mainland too.
There’s an interesting museum that’s worth a visit when you get there, however if you’re completing your trip anytime between June and September, nature puts on a much better show out to sea.
Cast your gaze to the horizon, and chances are you’ll see Southern Right Whales on their way to the warm waters of South Australia, and, if you’re lucky, Humpback whales breaching in the distance.
Now we couldn’t possibly leave the lighthouse, without more of Georgie’s family getting a look in. This time her grandparents, Bill and Ada Gratton Wilson, who were the first to take a car out there, following the Old Coach road that the bullock team used to take supplies out to the Cape.
They drove their Model T Ford on the rocky road, carrying a picnic, car chains and an axe, and when they made it there they were given a nights accommodation in the lighthouse for their troubles.
A natural wonderland
Of course, when you take a week or so to complete the Great Ocean Walk, most of the time you’ll be surrounded by a wild, enduring landscape that simply doesn’t care about history, or the people who once lived there.
A wide variety of native species continue to go about their business, and you’ll see koalas, kangaroos, echidnas, cockatoos, snakes, lizards, eagles, seals and penguins. The natural environment is the overriding wonder in this Great story of the Southern Ocean, but you’ll get to know that story when you walk here anyway.
Some other stories, well, you’d never find out otherwise, and then you’d never learn from the past. And the lesson for me, at least, rests in the walls of that little beach house. All I can think of, is, what a lovely way to honour the fallen. Not with a memorial that you visit sombrely once a year, lay a wreath and pause for a minute’s silence.
Instead, build a house by a beach. Fill it with your family whenever you can, and spend a lifetime creating memories. A house that’s handed down over the generations – creating a space, in a beautiful place, for years to come. Surely that’s a legacy we’d all like to create.
Eliot Gratton Wilson. Born on the 12th August 1892. Died on the 7th August 1915. Lives on forever in the walls of a beach house, and in the hearts of his family. So the next time you walk past that idyllic setting, spare a thought for Eliot, and all the soldiers who gave their todays, for our tomorrow.

It Seems Like Nothing Changes
Paul Cussen
August 2018
In the last two weeks of Anglo-Welsh composer Philip Heseltine’s year long stay in Ireland, he writes ten songs which are published under the pseudonym Peter Warlock. These are considered to be among his finest work.
An t-Óglách, with the tagline ‘The Official Organ of the Irish Volunteer', often described as a successor to the Irish Volunteer, is published. It is published twice a month initially and successfully manages to remain in circulation despite numerous raids and having to operate in secret to avoid complete closure. Michael Collins, Adjutant General and Director of Organisation, is a regular contributor to the magazine.
Charlie Hurley is arrested on a charge of unlawful assembly and imprisoned in Cork Gaol. When arrested he is found to have in his possession documents relating to military installations in the Beara peninsula and a plan for destroying the police barracks in Castletownbere. On release from Cork Gaol he is rearrested, court-martialled and sentenced to five years' penal servitude at Maryborough (Portlaoise) Gaol.
John Hawkes from off-Barrack Street lodges an unsuccessful appeal with the local War Pensions Committee in Cork city, noting that he had been ‘awarded a pension of 8d. a day for 18 months final [sic] & his period expired some time ago. He states that if he could obtain a pair of spectacles, he would be employed at once as a watchmaker. He has no home and no money and will have to go to the workhouse if his appeal fails.’ Hawkes had previously served in the Royal Munster Fusiliers in France but had been discharged in April 1915, according to his mother, ‘because he got a bad cold in the trenches’ and had been declared ‘unfit for further duty’. Doctors at a hospital in Boulogne had determined that Hawkes suffered from a ‘mental deficiency’ .
Acting Major Thomas Marshal Llewellyn Fuge is mentioned in Despatches. He is mentioned in ‘Long Shadows by de Banks: the history of Cork County Cricket Club’ by Colm Murphy as a useful fast medium bowler who played for Ireland.
Stephen O’Callaghan of 39 Bandon Road completes four years on active duty with the Worcestershire Regiment and the Royal Munster Fusiliers, a recipient of the British Army Service Medal and the Victory Medal.
HMS Flying Fox takes over kite balloons and the operations are attached to the deployment of the American battleships Utah, Nevada and Oklahoma. The three battleships operate from Berehaven from August to October to protect Allied convoys from attack by the German battlecruisers.
August 1 – The first fully combined air, sea, and land military operation in history is launched as RN Fairey Campania seaplanes from HMS Nairana join Allied forces to drive Red Army forces from the mouth of the Northern Dvina river in Russia.
The French Tenth Army launch an attack and penetrate five miles into German territory in the Second Battle of the Marne.
British troops enter Vladivostok.

Japan announces that it is deploying troops to Siberia.
The first general strike in Canada occurs in a one-day protest at the murder of Albert “Ginger” Goodwin.
August 4 – ‘Gaelic Sunday’, approximately 100,000 Gaels take part in an act of defiance against the British administration by refusing to apply for licenses to play Gaelic Games.
Noel Willman, actor and theatre director, is born in Derry.
There is a full muster of the members of the companies of the Third West Cork Brigade for the funeral of Lieutenant William Hurley (Kilbrittain Company) in Clogagh.
The Norwegian barque Remonstrant is sunk in the Atlantic Ocean 280 nautical miles (520 km) west of the Fastnet Rock. Her crew survive.
Adolf Hitler is awarded an Iron Cross first class on recommendation of his Jewish superior Lieutenant Hugo Gutmann.
August 5 – Five Zeppelins attempt to bomb London however most of the bombs fall into the North Sea due to heavy cloud cover and L20 is shot down killing all the crew.
August 7 – Florrie Burke is born. He goes on to play for Cork United, Cork Athletic, Evergreen United, Ireland and the League of Ireland XI (d. 1995).
August 8 – The first organised meeting of the I.T.G.W.U. in Mallow is held this evening in the old Town-Hall.
Battle of Amiens where Canadian and Australian troops begin a string of almost continuous victories, the 'Hundred Days Offensive', with an 8-mile push through the German front lines, the Canadians and Australians capture 12,000 German soldiers, while the British take 13,000 and the French capture another 3,000 prisoners (more enemy troops were captured in the six days from August 6 to August 12 than in the previous nine months combined). German General Erich Ludendorff later calls this the "black day of the German Army". Historian Charles Messenger refers to this date as the “day we won the war”.

He had come from Laois to serve in the Prison Service in Cork and enlisted for military service in early 1916. He first saw action securing positions in Dublin in 1916. His unit landed in France in August 1916. He is listed on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, (and on a memorial which disappeared from St. Peter’s Church between 2002 and 2006).
August 22 – Sergeant John Hallinon is killed in action in the Somme. He was born around 1883 in Ballincollig and was working as a bank messenger in London. August 25 – Composer, conductor, author, music lecturer, and pianist Leonard Bernstein is born in Lawrence, Massachusetts (d. 1990).
70 year old fisherman William Whelton dies in Courtmacsharry after mistakenly consuming poison (unlike poisonings in the UK a century later there is no suspicion of Russian involvement!)
August 27 – Denis O'Doherty, Irish Guards is killed in action aged 28. His brother Felix O'Doherty had started the Fianna and Volunteers in Blarney and became Captain 'B' (Blarney) Company, 6th Battalion, Cork Brigade, I.R.A.
The Battle of Ambos Nogales occurs when U.S. Army forces skirmish against Mexican Carrancistas and two supposed German advisors at Nogales, Arizona, in the only battle of WWI fought on United States soil. Over 130 people die, the majority are Mexican citizens.
August 29 – Science historian and cryptanalyst John Herival is born in Belfast (d. 2011).
Bob Conklin dies of gunshot wounds, sustained at the Battle of Arras. Due to the delay of mail from the Front, his family still continue to receive letters from Bob after learning of his death: “Give my love to all and don’t worry on my account”; “Well, my news is finished, so I’ll ring off. I will write mother in a few days. Love to all. Bob.”
August 30 – Czechoslovakia forms independent republic.
London Policemen go on strike after the dismissal of PC Tommy Thiel (centre in the photograph) for union membership. The strikers demand union recognition and a wage increase. Within a few hours 6,000 men throughout London are out, with more joining all the time; even the Special Branch is affected.
Vladimir Lenin is shot and wounded by Fanny Kaplan in Moscow.

I was reading your last response post, and I guess it's a popular head cannon Mako had a kid(kids?) before the war. It got me thinking about what/who he was b4 the war. I was curious what do you think his life was like?
okay so like hell yes. I like this! here are some headcannons i have for them!
roadhog
he had a pretty simple family, an older son (around 17 or so) and a much smaller daughter (around 9), they were so far apart due to complications between his wife and him
he was (still is but shh) very family oriented, his wife and kids meant the world to him and they’d probably do stupid things like family game night sundays and going to the movies once a month
they probably had a dog or two at the house
his daughter loved pigs (piggies as she’d put it), she gave him a pin that’s her favorite. she also loved pachimari plushies
his daughter loved to hear him read her stories
he was a hopeless romantic, and he and his wife always had amazing anniversaries and spontaneous date nights
they lived down the street from his wife’s parents, as his own had died long ago
Mako is a native Australian, and he tried to teach his kids about his traditions
he was a decorated war veteran, and his son was enlisted into Australia’s army as per his father’s footsteps.
his son was the first to die in the omnic crisis, on the field. he couldn’t even properly mourn as he was also fighting
his daughter and wife died in the Australian omnic explosion. Mako caught wind and deserted the military and became a body guard in junkertown
he hasn’t fully mourned his family’s death and he has some trauma he hasn’t been able to work through nor is he willing to work through it

Netflix confirmed 27 movies are releasing in 2021, and here's every one of them. Hosted by three Red Notice stars - Ryan Reynolds, Gad Gadot, and Dwayne Johnson - Netflix's 2021 Film Preview video packs in a lot of information for curious streamers, which may feel both exciting and slightly overwhelming.
Netflix's preview video doesn't include all of their upcoming 2021 movies, but rather a select group of films across various genres - including their biggest releases. The sneak peek reveals that new movies will be released once per week throughout the year, which means that just over half are included in the clip. Several celebrities make brief appearances to hype up their upcoming projects, and Red Notice unsurprisingly receives the most attention during the the Netflix 2021 Film Preview.
Related: Every New Movie Releasing On Netflix In 2021

WHEN A GIRL MEETS BOY
PAIRING(S): 40's!Bucky x Reader, Dum Dum Dugan x OFC Dotty
WARNING(S): Curse words
WORD COUNT: 1973
AUTHOR’S NOTES: I wrote this on a whim and I love it so much fvlgffbnefjnf Bucky is actually my most favourite thing in the planet like he could punch me in the face with his metal arm (or what used to be his metal arm) and I would thank him for it.
Listen to How About You by Judy Garland (1941), then You’ll Never Know by Alice Faye (1943)
MASTERLIST ( ! ) • PROMPTS ( ! ) • ASK BOX ( ! )
1943, SOMEWHERE BEHIND THE ENEMY LINES
War was a mean place. You knew that better than anybody.
You were an army nurse, straight out of your father’s farm in England. But simply put, you were an army brat. Your father, an old veteran, now a farmer. Your mother, an old army nurse, now a wife of a farmer. Your brothers were also soldiers of war, like your grandfather, and his father before him, and his father before him.
1939, the army was recruiting. It was not voluntary. Anybody over the age of 18 and unmarried were expected to enlist. Your brothers saw it as an opportunity to mean something – to be a part of something bigger than themselves. But truth be told, they probably left to impress the ladies in town.
Nevertheless, your brothers run off with their heads held high and brave faces, but your father was not glad. He was not proud. He did not wave them goodbye with a smile on his face, his arm was not around your mother’s waist with a look of pride and joy. In fact, your brothers had left in the middle of the night, through the window, leaving all but a light kiss on your forehead before they had run off to the save their country. Four years had passed, and you had not heard from then since.
You hated them for it. And then you didn’t, because soon enough, you had done the same thing. You followed your mother’s footsteps like your brothers had followed your fathers. You had left with all but a daisy on your bed, and a red stained lip kiss on your favourite handkerchief your grandmother knitted you.
Now, you hated yourself for it.
Your lovely parents only ever wanted you to be safe – all of you. Your brothers, yourself – your parents always said they hated every second they ever spent in war.
Now you were somewhere in Italy, far, far, away from the safety of home. You, along with a dozen nurses you soon began seeing as the sisters you never had, were kidnapped and captured and became prisoners of war. You along with hundreds of Allied soldiers.
Many had come and gone. None came back. They were taken for something. Torture, interrogation, experiments, whatever it was it couldn’t have been good. You and your girls had been there for months. You didn’t speak German, but a Dorothy did. She was your friend.
SEVEN MONTHS AGO FROM TODAY, FOUR DAYS AFTER BEING TAKEN:
“What are they saying, Dotty?” You whispered towards her.
Dotty brushed her blonde hair away from her face. “They refuse to touch us.”
Mary, another friend of yours, whispered beside you. “Like what they’re doing to the soldiers?” She raised her brow.
Dotty nodded. All of you sat on the floor of the cage you were locked in. Her hand was raised on the bars as she stared at the NAZI soldiers. “Yes. Not until they capture more of us.”
You raised your brow. “Pardon me?”
“They need more women to experiment on, but they don’t have enough. They’re waiting until they catch more of us.” She gulped and spun around. “Then they’ll begin.”
“Jesus, Mary, and Joseph.”
The newest set of soldiers were American – mostly. You and the girls were used to British and French soldiers, actually, you’d met a couple of Australians along with way, too. They were all dead now.
Winifred had already made friends. She was another nurse from your infantry. She asked them the same questions she always asked the newbies. What infantry are you from? How many of you? Any women with you? And, will there be anyone coming to save us?
On average, it took the Germans months to get through one infantry since there were hundreds of soldiers. Currently, your girls and the 107th infantry were on standby. They had arrived two months after you and your girls, making a total of five months of being imprisoned together.
Beside your cage, was a group of soldiers, none too savage and pig-headed, in fact, they were gentlemen. When they first arrived, they ratted you tired from their questions. None of which were about their safety, but instead, about yours.
“Are you ladies hurt?”
“How long have you been here?”
“Did those bastards touch you?”
“We’ll fucking kill them if they did.”
“C’mon, doll, don’t shy away, tell us the truth”
James Buchanan Barnes.
Oh, he was a dream. Mocha brown hair, bright blue eyes like heaven. His face was as handsome as he was kind. A total dreamboat, in your opinion. Young, handsome, brave, intelligent, and his smile was the brightest out of all. He became your best friend. In his cage, there was four of them left – once upon a time, there were twenty-two. When the Germans return, his odds weren’t so great.
He first met you when you were sat on the floor with the girls. The soldiers of war were crying, wailing, screaming, threatening. The 107th was new then, and one thing you and the girls had realised was that soldiers all went through the same stages. Anger, more anger, frustration, sadness, then acceptance.
And you were just about sick of it. Sure, you let them be, you allowed them to be men – to be human. But these men, goodness me, they’re anger lasted at least three times more than all the others.
Dotty’s head was on your lap, the other girls were also sitting and fiddling with each other’s hair. “I miss my victory rolls.” Dotty pouted.
You smiled softly and continued to brush your fingers through her blonde hair. “I know, darling.” Before you could say more, the sound of angry men fighting interrupted. Your words died before they were born. You remembered your life back at the farm; picking flowers, collecting eggs, milking the cows, picking strawberries. The sun seeped through your skin as the fresh, clean wind blew past your face. You’d be wearing a clean dress that always got dirty before noon arrived. Even then, there wasn’t anyone to judge you. And to past the time, you’d sing. You took a deep breath.
“When a girl meets boy / life can be a joy / but the note they end on / will depend on little pleasures they will share / so let us compare.”
Soon enough, the men of war began to silence. Dotty’s face turned to awe, and hundreds of eyes were on you.
“I like New York in June, how about you? / I like Gershwin tune, how about you? / I love a fireside when a storm is due / I like potato chips, moonlight and motor trips / How about you? / I’m mad about good books, can’t get my fill / and Franklin Roosevelt’s looks give me a thrill / holding hands at the movie show / when all the lights are low / may not be new, but I like it / how about you? / I like Jack Benny’s jokes / to a degree / I love the common folks / that includes me / I like to window shop on 5th Avenue / I like banana splits, late supper at the Ritz / How about you?”
“Doll?” Bucky’s voice broke through the crowd of soldiers.
Your eyes turned to his. And suddenly, it was only you and him. “Hi, Buck.”
He beamed. His eyes were just as tired as yours, and his heart probably as heavy. “What was your mother like?”
You smiled at his question. “Well, she was beautiful. A strong woman. She was also an army nurse, like me.” You smiled at the thought of your mother. “She’s every bit as hard-headed as I am.”
He held your index finger through the holes of the cage. “She sounds wonderful.”
You nodded, brushing your [Y/H/C] hair behind your ears. “She would have liked you.”
A soft and playful look washed over his face. “You’d want me to meet your Ma?”
You giggled and nodded once more. “I think you’d be the first man my mother would approve of.”
His posture straightened ever so slightly in pride. Then he paused, frowned, then turned to you. “You bring home men a lot?”
“No, silly.” You smiled, wiggling you finger that was in his hand. “I lived in a farm. Not a lot of guys like a lady who gets dirty.”
Bucky huffed. “I do.”
Your smile widened. “I know.”
Silence came from the both of you, comfortable silence, anyway. You listened to the conversations of the others. Dotty had gotten herself an older fellow. She was as fond of him as he was of her. His name was Dum Dum Dugan. You received a wink from him as you caught his eye. You grinned. You hadn’t even noticed Bucky’s eyes on you until he spoke again.
“They’ll be back soon, doll.”
Your face fell. No, no, no, no, no, this can’t be happening. “Don’t say that, Buck.” You whimpered.
His brows narrowed as he turned to you in concern and sadness. The tears in your eyes were threatening to fall. “Doll, don’t cry.” He whispered. His grabbed as much of your hand as he could, rubbing his thumbs on your skin. “Hey, hey, hey, don’t you do that to me, sweet girl, look at me.” And so you did. “Now, you know I love the sound of your voice. And your eyes, man that has to be one of my favourite things about you.”
Well, that was it. A tear had escaped and there was nothing you could do to stop it. “Buck … ”
He sighed, then chuckled drily. “I really wish I got to take you on a date.”
You sniffed then shook your head. “You will.” You nodded at him through your tears. “Oh, James, you will. Just survive, and when we get out of here, take me to dinner at your favourite restaurant. Take me to meet your ma, and your pal, Steve. You said they’d like me. You know how much I like being praised.”
Bucky’s eyes brightened. “That punk.” He chuckled. “Alright, I’ll even take you to meet the fellas at my barbershop. I already know Ma’s gonna love you. So will Rebecca.” – his baby (and favourite) sister out of four. You sighed and nodded. The comfort from his fingers seeped through you. “Can you do me a final favour, doll?”
Your eyes bounced from his left eye to his right. You’d already memorised the difference. The iris on his left eye was slightly larger. The one on his right had specks of darker blue. There were creases on the sides of his eyes. This man smiled so much, they left permanent evidence of it. The sides of his mouth twitched up as he noticed your stare. You had memorised his face as he had yours. “Sing for me, doll.”
You didn’t have to be told twice.
“You’ll never know just how much I miss you / you’ll never know just how much I care / and if I tried, I still couldn’t hide my love for you / you ought to know, for haven’t I told you so / a million or more times / went away and my heart went with you / I speak your name in my every prayer / If there is some other way to prove that I love you / I swear I don’t know how / you’ll never know if you don’t know now – ”
You couldn’t finish your song.
The Germans had come to take him in their arms.
THREE DAYS SINCE YOU’D SEEN BUCKY:
The sound of footsteps woke you up.
You blinked rapidly, your eyes desperate for clear sight.
“Who are you supposed to be?”
You began searching your surroundings until you spotted the source of the voice. A man was perched over the cages, hands ruffling in a bag. The commotion had gotten everybody’s attention.
“Captain America.”
Dotty cocked her head from beside you. “Are you wearing tights?”

So happy right now, for my ADF student and friend, who has been aiming to pass the Navy PFA (Physical Fitness Test) since we started training for it, back in August 2019. Today, she’s just passed it, and will next receive her enlistment date, for her Navy Officer training to start in July 2020..💪🏼 At the start, I gave her a fitness program that I knew she’d achieve over time. She stayed mentally strong in her positive attitude, and has now won her entry into the Australian Defence Force..☺️ I know, before she finishes her training, she’ll be an amazing recruit, Navy Officer, and leader.. I’m proud to have been her mentor, as she made her ADF preparations, and I salute her as my friend. Well done Helen P.. I’m here for any other ADF Officer applicants who would also like a mentor/coach to support in their ADF entry..🤓 #adf #pfa #physicalfitness #mentalstrength #motivation #determination #navy #army #airforce #officer #adftraining #womensupportingwomen #womeninuniform #womenindefence #military #militarylife #navylife #airforcerecruiting #armyofficer #navyofficer #careergoals #careercoach #careercoaching #adfschool #physicaltest #courage #beinaction #selfcare #selfmotivation #selfstarter https://www.instagram.com/p/CBcOW6rh1Fs/?igshid=1ttwkqt058mrd

THE SOUVENIR KING..AKA WILD EYES...
John “Barney” Hines, whose World War I army file details remarkably few wounds and remarkably many breaches of military discipline. On one level, Private Hines was a thief and scrounger with a propensity for violence that verged on the psychopathic. But in a place where even brave men were terrified, especially of showing fear, he excelled. He also happened to be one of the most deadly infantrymen of the war..At a time when hardly anyone but sailors had tattoos, “Barney” had plenty.he was regarded as big – a touch over six foot but a genuine “16 stone” heavyweight with a barrel chest and muscle from a lifetime of manual labour.
He had black hair, dark eyes and a look that made people nervous, this earned him another nickname, wild eyes. At a later date the commanding officer said "I always felt secure when Wild Eyes was about. He was a tower of strength in the line- I don't think he knew what fear was and he naturally inspired confidence in officers and men."
The Diggers called him “Souvenir King” because even in an army with its share of thieves, scally wags and “foragers”, he stood out. Among young recruits, he was a seasoned veteran. When he first enlisted in 1915 he claimed to be 28. He was in fact 42 and had been fending for himself for 30 years, ever since he ran away from home aged 12, as a seaman, a labourer, a Boer War guide, gold prospector and other things all over the world
In a battlefield of horrors beyond imagination, Hines seemed to reduce brutal combat to a sort of macabre sport. “souveniring” German loot was maybe a way of keeping score, a logical thing to do in a place with no logic, where men lived miserably and died terribly and at random.
He killed and captured dozens of Germans because he was good at it and he robbed them because he needed the money. He’d had his pay docked so often for brawling, drinking and going absent without leave that he was effectively fighting for nothing. He would take money, watches ,rings, knives ,anything he could sell was taken.reports indicated he had collected more than 4000 francs, 6 bottles of whisky, diamond earrings, a diamond brooch, gold rings, around 1 million German marks, a variety of watches and sufficient iron crosses to fill a sandbag
His fame spread beyond his own battalion as stories of his exploits passed along the lines.
There might have been snipers with more known “kills” but some suggest Hines single handedly killed or captured more Germans than any other foot soldier — and certainly robbed more of them
On one occasion he rushed a german pill-box, he ran straight at it, leapt on it's roof and preformed a war dance while taunting the Germans to come out. When they failed to comply, Hines lobbed a couple of Mills bombs through the gun port. A few minutes later the 48 Germans who had survived staggered out with their hands above their heads. Hines collected his "souvenirs" before herding his prisoners back to the Australian lines.Later the same day, he went back into the field and “knocked out” a German machine gun post.
He did not like to use his 303 rifle, he went into action clutching two sand bags stuffed with Mills bombs, then he would use the bags for his "loot" .Battalion officers recognised his natural fighting ability but despaired of ever turning him into a trained and disciplined soldier.
lieutenant colonel allen thought of attaching the big fellow to a Lewis gun.Hines was entranced by the weapon and its spraying power. 'This'll do me', he growled...'it's just like hosing the bastards down"
Another time he returned from amiens with suitcases full of French francs, apparently “found” in a bank. British military police arrested him but he caused so much trouble and they couldnt prove he stole it,so they let him go and he returned to his unit.
at passchendaele, a shell burst killed every man in his Lewis gun crew. Hines was thrown 20 metres, had the soles ripped from his boots but still managed to crawl back and keep firing until he fainted from his wounds. After he recovered in hospital he returned, to be wounded again and gassed. He was sent back to Australia a month before the Armistice and discharged in 1919. He went back to doing the best he could – droving, prospecting and timber cutting...When a new war broke out in 1939 he tried to join up again, aged 66, but this time he couldn’t fib his way in. “Barney” died broke in 1958 at 85.
photo above shows him with his "loot" after the fighting at Polygon Wood, Belgium

This is the fourth in my biographies about the lives of my eight great-grandparents, next up is John Edwin Barnes.
John Edwin Barnes was one of the first Ancestors that I researched, in real detail and he is someone who will always hold a special place in my heart, due to the fact he was sadly killed in action at Gallipoli in WW1.
After my Nan died, I was the humbled recipient of his WW1 medals and it was these very medals, that inspired me to trace my family history in my early years of research.
Are we allowed “Favourite Ancestor’s?” Of course we are, so apologies if there is a lot of info in this blog, I have managed to uncover a lot about John Edwin’s military career, in what was actually, an extremely short life.
So sit back and take a glimpse into the life of my Great-Grandfather John Edwin Barnes.
John Edwin Barnes was born on 17th March 1890 at 49, Benledi Street, Bromley-By-Bow, Poplar, he was the fourth child of eight, born to Henry Barnes and Martha Barnes nee Harvey.
Within a year, we find John Edwin Barnes counted in the 1891 Census, still living at 49, Benledi Street, with his parents and three older Brothers.
1891 Census
(Benledi Street)
By the time of the 1901 Census, the family home had moved to 50, Burke Street, West Ham and young John Edwin is still living at home with his parents and six siblings, Henry aged 17, Walter aged 13, Arthur aged 8, Edward aged 6, Martha aged 2 and baby Ethel aged just 5 Months.
1901 Census
Whether he was inspired by his older Brother Harry Barnes, who joined the East Surrey Regiment, I can’t say for certain, but the next record we find for our young John Edwin Barnes is his Army attestation papers detailing his enlistment to the Essex Militia, Army Number 9431;
The following information is taken from John Edwin Barnes Army enlisting documentation dated 19th October 1906. He was recruited into the Essex Regiment at the Frances Street Office, Woolwich, London. On the day he enlisted, he was 17 years and 7 months old, his height was 5ft 6 1/2″ and his weight 12st 3lbs. His chest measurement was 35″ and his complexion listed as Sallow. He had brown eyes and auburn hair and his religion is listed as C of E. His occupation is listed as a Carman and he is listed as single.
He had the following distinguishing marks:
Scar left side of forehead
Scar between shoulder blades
Tattoo I Love F.Bevens front of left forearm
(I have no idea who F. Bevens was, but she obviously made an impact!)
His address on enlisting is: 66, Hansworth Street, Canning Town, London.
His next of kin are listed as follows:
Father Harry, 66, Hansworth St. Canning Town Essex
Elder Bros Harry, Pte East Surrey Regt, Walter Jnr, Bros Arthur and Edward Sisters Martha & Ethel, all with father.
He enlists into the 3rd Militia Battalion Essex Regiment, Number 9431, on 19th October 1906 and shortly after receives the Army Recruiting Office seal of approval on 22nd October 1906. Exactly one month later, on 19th November 1906, he attested for Regular Service with the 3rd Battalion, Essex Regiment.
John Edwin Barnes Attestation Record
After completing basic training at the Warley Depot, at the end of 1907, he was posted to 2nd Battalion Essex Regiment, with the Army Number 8987. He was posted from the 2nd Battalion to the 1st Battalion and is stationed at Quetta, Baluhistan, India on the 5th January 1911 and is counted in the 1911 Census in India.
1911 Census
He is stationed here in “C” Company and later in 1913 “C” Company was merged to form part of the new “Y” Company when the Battalion moved to a four Company structure in 1913.

It’s during this period in Ireland and specifically Dublin, that John Edwin Barnes meets and marries his sweetheart, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Daniels.
They were married on 27th October 1909 at The Registrar’s Office in The City of Dublin and John Edwin Barnes was living at 6, Madeline Terrace, Golden Bridge, Dublin at the time and Lizzie’s address was 3, Woodroffe Cottages, Island Bridge. His occupation was listed as Private, Essex Regiment.
Between John Edwin Barnes enlistment and before he was sent to India, the Essex Regiment were stationed at The Island Bridge Army Barracks, in Dublin, the exact dates I can’t be sure. During this period there is also evidence of a Court Martial for a John E Barnes, of the 2nd Battalion, at The Curragh Army Barracks, Ireland. The date of the trial was 5th December 1910 and the Court Martial took place on 20th December 1910, the outcome of the trial was a Court Martial for desertion and he was sentenced to 112 days. I would like to think that he was deserting for good reasons, to go and meet his Wife, Lizzie, who would have been pregnant at the time with their only child Martha Annie Barnes. I will never know for certain the reason for his desertion, but the sentimental part of me would like it to be for this reason.
Court Martial Record
John Edwin Barnes and Lizzie Barnes only had the one child, Martha Annie Barnes (My Nan), who was born 21st April 1911, at The Stevens Hospital Dublin.
Sadly John Edwin Barnes died at Gallipoli on this ill-fated campaign, on the very first day of battle, 25th April 1915. Whether he was able to see his only child, Martha Annie Barnes or not, between his service in India, with the Essex Regiment and the outbreak of WW1, I am unable to say for sure.
You might think that there is where the story ends for John Edwin Barnes, but far from it, over the years I have been able to piece together more and more information about his time at Gallipoli thanks to the wonderful help of sites such as The Long Long Trail, The Great War Forum and The Gallipoli Association.
So I have included some more detailed information regarding the Gallipoli Campaign, the part the Essex Regiment played and the part my Ancestor John Edwin Barnes played.
There is a whole wealth of well documented books, blogs and research into the Gallipoli Campaign which would be far too lengthy to be included with this blog, but a very brief note of why the Allied Forces chose to attack the Dardanelles Peninsula is included here;
The eight month campaign in Gallipoli was fought by Allied forces in an attempt to force Turkey out of the war, to relieve the deadlock of the Western Front in France and Belgium, and to open a supply route to Russia through the Dardanelles and the Black Sea. The Allies landed on the peninsula on 25-26 April 1915; the 29th Division at Cape Helles in the south and the Australian and New Zealand Corps north of Gaba Tepe on the west coast, an area soon known as Anzac.
From now on, we will concentrate on the 29th Division, which consisted of 12 Battalions: Border Regiment, 1st Battalion Essex Regiment, Hampshire Regiment, King’s Own Scottish Borderers, 1st Battalion Lancashire Fusiliers, Royal Dublin Fusiliers, Royal Fusiliers – City of London Regiment, Royal Inniskilling Fusiliers, Royal Munster Fusiliers, 1/5th Royal Scots – Lothian Regiment, South Wales Borderers and the Worcestershire Regiment. John Edwin Barnes was part of The Essex Regiment that landed at “W” beach on 25th April 1915.

The Game is On (Part 1)
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader (AU)
Word Count: 1,665
Warnings: cuteness, fluffy, jealousy over Steve not being your boyfriend?
Summary: You and Steve have been together for six years, happily living life in your Brooklyn apartment. On the night of your six-year anniversary, you come home to find a folded note on the table with your name written in Steve’s scripted handwriting. Inside? Instructions to your own personal treasure hunt to find your surprise - and Steve - at the end, and you have 20 minutes to start! The game is on…
A/N: So this is part of @bionic-buckyb‘s 5K writing challenge and I got so excited over the prompt and the ideas that came to mind that I HAD to start writing ASAP. I hope you enjoy following the game as much as I enjoyed writing it
Also - I’m Australian but I tried to use the American Medical School/Training program regime in place of the one we have because it seems to be the one that is most recognized by people regardless of where they’re from. At least to me. I’M SORRY IF IT’S WRONG!
** = flashback scene
It had been a long day at the hospital today, the traumas just seemed to be non-stop, so you were very excited to get home and crawl into Steve’s arms. If he was home. With you an ER doctor, and he a medical resident, you had chaotic jobs and even more chaotic hours, but you made it work and he was often home before you.
Although lately he’d been a bit more checked out than usual, his head all over the place as he was getting further through his residency. His dream was to become an ER/Trauma doctor, like you, but go on to enlist in the Army and work as an Army Doctor, helping those on the front lines. It helped him immensely that he worked as an EMT first.
As you opened the door to your shared brooklyn apartment, you were met with darkness and silence, so you turned on the light and made your way through to the bedroom. You shot off a quick text to Steve to let him know you were home, put yourself through a quick shower, and changed into some shorts and one of Steve’s shirts, before you walked back out into the main room to start making dinner. As you walked passed the dining table, you noticed a slip of white paper with your name in familiar scripted handwriting on the front. You couldn’t help the smile that crept across your face, the warmth that blossomed in your chest.
My love,
I haven’t forgotten that it’s our six-year anniversary today, so in honour of these amazing six years with you I have designed a treasure hunt. There are six clues, one for each year and this is the first. At the end, you will find me and your surprise waiting. Don’t be late, you have to leave in 20 minutes. I love you.
Steve.
Clue #1: You’re beautiful and smart, saving lives is what we do, here in these white walls, is where I saw and fell in love with you.
You felt yourself do a little jump, excitement pooling in your stomach as you thought about what he could’ve gotten you in surprise for your anniversary. You had gotten him a New York Yankees baseball tee and managed to get it signed by the whole team, but it took you months and you had hidden it in one of your shoe boxes, praying he wouldn’t find it. You raced into your room and snatched it out, relief flooding through to know it was still a surprise, when you noticed your phone flashing to alert you to a message.
**1 New Message: Steve**
- I hope you’re as excited as I am. You’ll need to dress up doll, the black dress you never wear would be perfect - you know which one I’m talking about xo
On your fourth anniversary, you’d bought this beautiful black form-fitting dress: belted waist, exposed back, sleek pencil skirt, and lace framing the top of the dress and forming ¾ of the sleeves. Steve had seen it hanging up but you didn’t feel comfortable wearing it out, you thought it made you look ‘frumpy’ - squishing you to have rolls everywhere. Steve had laughed and assured you that you’d never looked frumpy to him, just beautiful, and he’d deigned to show you just how beautiful you were that night in bed.
You quickly typed out a reply - Only for you handsome xo - and raced to the bathroom to begin getting ready. You pulled your (Y/H/C) hair into a side ponytail, leaving out stray strands to frame your face, and curled the ends and stray pieces. The hair was always the easy part but make-up was your kryptonite. You could do the basics - face, lipstick, mascara - but that was it. Anything more and you ended up looking like you survived a cosmetic factory explosion.
You stared down at the eyeshadow palette in front of you, decided it was more afraid of you than you were of it, and pulled up some YouTube tutorials on smoky eyes to follow. Once you finished the eyes, you carefully applied the eyeliner like you were dismantling a bomb - your surgical skills and steady hands came in handy. Finally happy, you turned to apply your lipstick when you saw your phone flashing again.
**1 New Message: Steve”**
- Have you left yet? Xo
Shit. You had gone over the 20 minutes he’d given you. You sighed, replying to him quickly so you could begin the game.
- I’ve been trying to get ready for like, a half hour, because I know you’re going to look damn good and I don’t want to look like a potato. I’m nearly done I swear xo
You saw the response bubbles pop up immediately -
- You’ve never looked like a potato in your life, next to you I’m the potato and you’re the frenchiest fry - the goddess of fries, the most beautiful type of potato. And I love french fries… xo
You laughed to yourself as you replied -
- Ok fry-lover, I’m walking out the door now! See you soon, I love you xo
- I love you too xo
You put on your red lipstick and matching red heels and took off out the door, folding Steve’s present safely into your bag and grasping your phone and the note in your hand as you stepped out into the street to hail a taxi.
This clue was easy. You’d met at the hospital in your ER - he’d just bought in a trauma and you’d been crazy busy so he stayed with you to help and be an extra set of hands. Once the patient had stabilised and been taken up into the OR by the leading trauma doctor, you’d found him outside.
**
“Hey, thanks for sticking around to help out in there. It really made all the difference.”
You stuck your hand out to shake his, noting his crystal blue eyes. He was beautiful, but you were gone when he smiled at you - he had you.
“No problem, just doing my job like you’re doing yours. I’m Steve.”
“Well thank you anyway Steve, I’m (Y/N)”
You smiled at him, ignoring the butterflies in your stomach threatening to burst out, and pulled away to walk back inside when you felt him grab your hand again.
“Hey wait, um, did you want to maybe grab dinner sometime or see a movie or something?”
He ran his fingers through his hair, uncertainty on his face and you realized he was actually nervous. Why would someone as gorgeous as him be nervous?
“I’d love to! Are you into Harry Potter? Please tell me you are!”
He breathed a sigh of relief, letting out a small chuckle, but by God it was music.
“I’ve only seen a couple of them - don’t hate me!”
You feigned shock horror - “WELL! How about we sit and watch them all before we go and see the final one in cinemas? Call it a pre-date?”
“It’s a date then! Or a pre-date…” He shot you the most brilliant smile, red flooding into his cheeks and it took a lot of energy not to kiss him right there. You scribbled your number onto a piece of paper and handed it over, “call or text me anytime Steve, I look forward to our pre-date.”
With that, you walked back inside the hospital doors, missing seeing him put his arms up in success and his fellow EMT give him a high five.
(Steve’s POV)
“So you finally asked her out huh? My man!”
“I can’t believe it, she actually said yes! She even called it a date!”
Steve was beside himself. He’d seen you here months before, but never had the courage to talk to you and there had never been an opportunity to. Emergencies were emergencies, and by the time the patients were stable, he’d either be rushing to the next one or you were gone - off being a hero.
“Man, you have been in love with this girl FOREVER, I’m just glad you’ll finally shut up about pining after her like a lost puppy!” With that, he gave Steve a small punch in the arm.
“Now I’ll get to go on and on about our date!”
His friend groaned, walking back to the ambulance to begin cleaning it and getting ready for the next call out.
Steve was euphoric for the rest of his shift.
**
(Your POV)
Heading back to the hospital, you began to worry about what your colleagues might think with you showing up looking like this. You were all friends, and quite close, but you all rarely saw each other outside of work and this dressed up, having different rosters and hours, and the bonus of being on call. You worried at the hem of your dress, beginning to feel the self-conscious anxieties seeping in. No, this is for Steve, he wanted this and you would do anything for him. You can survive a treasure hunt in this dress.
You paid your fare and stepped through to the emergency room, feeling as though every available set of eyes was suddenly on you. You calmly walked up to the front desk, where you were met with rounds of compliments and coos over Steve’s plan - apparently, everyone was informed of his instructions and were all gushing over how romantic it was - before they finally gave you his second clue. You thanked them all earnestly before stepping back outside to open it.
Clue #2: You caught me up on his story, but ours began on the seventh part, go to where you taught me magic is real, the first time you stole into my heart.
You furrowed your brow, thinking back on the things you’d shown Steve over the years. Magic? Story? Oh God how could you not see it! You ran to the side of the street to get another taxi, your heart racing as you thought about what clue was waiting at your next destination.

Younger Sibling Headcannons
So, here is a little something to get this blog started ^^ If you like it, leave a note, or ask for more!
Genji
Younger Genji would be like the irresponsible devil getting you into trouble
You’d be loved by the whole family, by him too
He would be spoiling you all the time, not giving a damn that it is “undisciplined” in you oldest brother’s eyes
“Hey sis/bro, I just bought like fifty packs of your favorite candy for you! Just don’t tell big bro, okay?”
He tries to drag you everywhere with him so that he can raise the same daredevil he is, no matter how his friends would react
“So, you are eleven? You wanna try driving that Porsche dad just bought me?”
“Nobody cares what Hanzo said, bungee is for kids!”
When it comes to your training with weapons, he would playing-fight you, always going too easy on you and letting you win
But will actually listen to you when you have problems with the responsibility of being an heir to the Shimada Empire, calming you, telling you to take it easy
Older Genji would be so much calmer, though
Would try to get closer with you after all the years spent apart
Always apologizing for leaving you
He would feel incredibly guilty for not telling you he was alive
Trying to catch up with you, he would tell you all these amazing stories about the old times in the old Overwatch during quiet evenings you would spend together as a family
Whenever you would seem troubled, he would always know
He would introduce you to Zenyatta and teach you how to meditate
When introducing you to the Overwatch, he would not once shutting up about how amazing you are to the point it is embarrassing
Hanzo
Younger Hanzo would be like Mom ModeTM Activated
He would try to cultivate you and get you out of Genji’s bad influence
A little war about whose heir you would be - the playboy or the leader
Even as a kid, he would make sure your first word is “Onii-chan”
When you get older, he would be strict towards you most of the time
Still would be super proud of you whenever you achieve anything, being all supportive and kind
Except when it comes to sword-fighting and archery
He is having none of this “kid” or “younger, vulnerable sibling” shit
Would beat your sorry butt until you cannot move
But would always give you positive feedback and comments on your technique, strategy or skill
Would try to prepare you to be the heir of the Clan alongside him, even though he tends to be a little mean at times
He only means the best for you
OVERPROTECTIVE AS FUCK
“Did you just knocked over [Name]’s sand-castle? RYUU GA WAGA TEKI-“
“Did you see the way that guy/girl was looking at you?
“Yea , we’re actually dating right now.”
“… Now, if you will excuse me, I will have a word or two with them.”
“You are going to push them against a wall and growl that you will kill them if they hurt me, right?”
“Hell yes.”
Older Hanzo would seem even more distant
At first, he would probably be even avoiding you, thinking he is the reason your life was ruined
Until you would finally pay him a visit, talking for hours about everything that happened
You would say that it was not his fault – and even if it was, you would forgive him in a second
He would not believe a word you said, still trying to get away from you to stop ruining the life you had now
After some time, though, he would finally accept it
Still, he would try to be all stern and that, but be super happy when hearing what you have become and finally open up to you
Finally, you would beat his sorry ass with your weapon
(maybe he let you win, shhh)
(most likely not, though)
Family evenings with Genji!
All of your dragons in a pile of rainbow spaghetti
Junkrat
He would have to raise you all by himself in the Australian desert
Would give you spare food, water or anything he would find
When traveling, he would let you sit on the tire on his back, with you pulling his hair and being a little brat
Would call you the Queen of Australia
But let’s be honest, you’d be even crazier than him
Radiation is no joke, and you have been exposed for longer time
“Who said HE was the black sheep of the family?”
He having love for explosives, you would be the pyromaniac
Setting fire to everything – bushes, omnics, your brother, yourself
Junkrat wouldn’t really mind as long as you always extinguish him
His ever-flaming hair would be your doing
You would be super excited with him after finding the treasure in the desert
Coming up with unrealistic plans, but swearing to make them true
“Let’s buy the Eiffel Tower!”
“Hooly dooly, yes!”
When teaming up with Roadhog, you’d be a little suspicious, but whatever
Mako is actually quite fun and sometimes lets you sit on his shoulders
You would always be cheerful and calling your trio “the Dream Team”
The three of you would be the ultimate bros
Soldier 76
When he enlists into the army, you would go with him so that you could keep an eye on him
He would try to talk you out of entering the super-soldier program, only to meet with a skull even thicker than his
“I cannot let you do this!”
“Like a give a fuck about what you say.”
While in the program, you’d be making fun of him with Reyes, mocking him with names like “Boy scout” or “Captain America”
When he was promoted to the Strike Commander, you would be the one to get excited and scream like a dying pterodactyl while he just humbly smiles
You would let him take the spotlight while you just jam in the background, getting the job done
You’d be trying to mediate between Gabriel and Jack when the Blackwatch reveal comes
After the explosion, you’d be the one to get him out of the Swiss ruins and be on his side ever since
Always having his back just like the old times, even though he’d probably like to work alone
But you’d be the only one (along with Ana) who has the guts to get into a fight with him
Even when you two would be old, you’d still go and make fun of him
He would be already used to it and be actually glad that there is someone who would not take any of his shit
But when fight would get too intense, you two would suddenly act like arguing teenagers
“At least I am not so ugly I have to hide behind a stupid mask!”
“Because you are so ugly not even a mask would help!”
At the end of the day, you would still keep an eye on him
Tracer
She would bethe sweetest older sister you could ever wish for
Always making sure you are OK and have everything you need and
Believes you deserve the best, so she tries her best to study with you, make good example of herself, and even raise you a little
When running late for school, date, or Black Friday sells, she would just throw you over her shoulder and carry you ther
On the other hand, you would be probably the more serious sibling, always worrying about her
Especially after her incident with chronal disassociation
Ladies nights with you, Emily and Lena!
Spending holidays with the Overwatch, them babysitting you when Tracer leaves for a mission
“OMG, Oxton, but what do we FEED her?!”
“Food, Jack.”
Tracer always promising what a pure little angel you are
Having a photo of you in her wallet, showing you to anyone who would like to hear about you (or would not)
McCree
That’s some strong love-hate relationship right there
You two just cannot stop mocking, arguing, or fighting when in the same room
The level of burn is so strong everyone expects you to spontaneously combust sooner or later
Everything goes aside when the sibling rivalry kicks in
Mission, orders, human lives, fate of the Earth…
“Betcha you cannot get over the enemy lines, hoppin’ on one leg without your gun!”
“WATCH ME”
I mean the hardcore is so strong it puts the Shimadas to shame
You once woke up duct-taped to a wall and was left there for six hours
As revenge, you threw out every piece of clothing he had while he was in shower
Yup, he had to run around Blackwatch base with his bare butt sticking out while everyone except him left for a mission
When really bored, you would just imitate everything he says just to make him mad (you have the same accent so you just sound like cowboy Batman)
This makes him actually more furious than anything
Being shot at because of this is nothing new
When he is trying to flirt with someone, you would run in and say something stupid to utterly destroy his chances
“Oh, Jesse, you paid your aliments for Junior this month? Rebecca just called me, lookin’ for ya, ‘n’ she ain’t happy!”
“My bro? Still livin’ with our folks. Should get a life, I ‘no.”
After getting from Blackwatch, he would always brag about “draggin’ your ass with him”, but he would be actually glad he has someone by his side

Here is a list of 25 Interesting Fakes.
