Jacques Deforest: A Miraculous Ladybug OC
Name: Jacques Deforest
Age: late 40′s
Physical description: 5′10″ tall, broad-shouldered, physically fit, short, dark brown hair, clean shaven with a scar across his face
Wardrobe: Dark green t-shirt, black leather biker jacket, blue jeans, black leather boots, and occasional black sunglasses
Story: Jacques Deforest has always been on the wrong side of the tracks. Coming from a problematic home and with a younger sister and brother, Jacques learned to fend for himself, and them, at an early age. Sadly, while his siblings managed to get on the right track, Jacques found himself addicted to the thrill of being on the wrong track. He soon became a criminal, and would eventually create his own gang, a “pack” if you will, of whom he is the “alpha.” Jacques and his gang now terrorize the locals wherever they go. However, ruthless and cruel as he may seem, deep down, Jacques still has a small sense of honor and loyalty to those he cares about. Who knows? One day, at the very least, he might do the wrong thing for the right reason.

Raj Kapoor (Neel Kamal, Andaz, Anari)—Do you want to see a man traipsing in a bucket hat? He almost steps on a bug and then scoops the bug up and saves it! He traipses down the street, joining hands and dancing with children! I realize I'm just listing things he does while singing Kisi Ki Muskurahaton Pe Ho Nisar from Anari, but it's truly one of the scrungliest performances I've ever seen.
Jacques Marin (Charade)—grump. grumpy man. man who is grumpy. so so grumpy. my dream cast for poirot which i feel like makes a man a scrungle? i have only seen him in charade tho so he may not scrungle all the time. but he does in that movie for sure.
This is round 1 of the contest. All other polls in this bracket can be found here. If you're confused on what a scrungle is, or any of the rules of the contest, click here.
[additional submitted propaganda + scrungly videos under the cut]
Raj Kapoor:
Even the vegetable lady calls him scrungly in this one:
youtube
I take it, 'scrungly little guy' means some pathetic little meow meow who you cannot help but think of as cute and root for until the end. Raj Kapoor has the RANGE. While he is certainly hot and certainly famous in India, the noobs on Tumblr definitely haven't heard of him which, i guess, fits the requirement of the participant being relatively obscure. And while he can play dashing heros and all with remarkable skill, I would argue his best work is when he plays a silly little guy who is hopelessly in love with Nargis.
This very bisexual scene from Andaz:
youtube
Listen, this guy plays a con man in Shree 420 OF COURSE HE'S SCRUNGLY IN IT. And holy shit, have you seen him play a man in love (especially with Nargis)?? He's so pathetic I love him. And he ain't white so obviously not popular with the Tumblrinas so fits your criteria... I hope?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Listen, people can google him and may rightly so say he is hot vintage-guy material. And yes that is correct - he was a hearthrob and popular with ladies all over BUT if you have seen Awaara or Shree 420 you will know him as the lovely scrungly little Charlie-Chapin-tramp-character-inspo vagabond, with his little stick-and-bundle. Listen, if you are looking at Raj Kapoor's 'vagabond' character making his intro in the video below and you don't immediately think 'scrungly' you must have your eyes closed.

Jacques Marin:
Marin shows up at 10:10 in this clip from Charade. He is interrogating Audrey Hepburn:

Keen blog observers may have noticed that I fell off on talking about my aquarium. The truth is, my tank crashed when I moved and I lost all of my nems (except Audrey, who went into a downward spiral that she didn't recover from), 2 of my fish, and most of my coral.
Parasites and opportunistic pests filled in the gaps: fireworms and aiptasia anemones have been a pervasive problem for me ever since. I've been trying to get things back to how they should be for two years, but not tirelessly or diligently.
Fitfully, trying something and then despairing when it failed and doing just the bare minimum while the problem worsened again.
A few weeks ago, my beloved cleaner shrimp Jacques died. He went to molt and just never made it back. It made me sad to look at my aquarium without him, full of never ending aiptasia anemones and algae while much of my remaining coral recessed or barely limped along.
Feeling like it was worth a shot because nothing else had worked, I bought an aiptasia-eating filefish, who then disappeared into the bowels of my tank and I basically never saw for almost two weeks. Occasionally during meal time, I'd see his distinct silhouette for a moment, grabbing a morsel before ducking back into the shadows.
It happened quickly but also so gradually I didn't notice at first but. The aiptasia are just gone. The huge ones that had an oral disc bigger around than my filefish's tiny beaky mouth are gone. The tiny ones nestled into nooks and crannies I could never get to are gone. The ones that were anchored in the rock and the sand and on the coral: gone.
For the first time since I moved, I have hope for this tank. If I can keep a good clean up crew, stabilize my trace minerals and standardize my lighting, I think it could become beautiful again.
PS: you should look up aiptasia eating filefish videos. Still images don't explain it but watching them swim around is lovely. They are odd looking and very expressive when they swim.

No worries if not interested and even less pressure to post this one cos of possible discourse.
But I was scrolling twitter & found this & recalled your disdain for Audrey and was like, "Oh Princess would fucking HATE Jacques, I have to share this!"
For context, Weiss wants to attend Beacon rather than be kept in Atlas by her father, & managed to fight him down to "Pass this test and you can go I guess."
Said test being that she defeat a giant suit of armored, that is designed to look like the one worn by the grandfather she loved & idolized, that's been infested with tons of Gheist Grimm.
This is the fight that leaves her with a permanent scar over one eye.
The picture should contain a link... Should XD
I haven't watched all of rwby, but between things I know and the fact that I used Wiess' 'fuck you, dad!' song as a 'fuck you, mom!' song in a Chloé fic?
YEAH.

Douglas Morley Kirkland (August 16, 1934 – October 2, 2022) was a Canadian-born American photographer. He was noted for his photographs of celebrities, especially the ones he took of Marilyn Monroe several months before her death.
Kirkland was born in Toronto on August 16, 1934. He was raised in nearby Fort Erie, where his father managed a small store that sold suits. He later recounted how he developed his penchant for photography while perusing the Life magazines his father brought back from his store. Kirkland attended Seneca Vocational High School in Buffalo, New York, before immigrating to the United States permanently.
Kirkland first worked for a printing studio in Richmond, Virginia. He then served as Sherwin Greenberg's assistant for a year starting in 1957. He was subsequently employed by Look magazine. It was in that capacity that he was allocated a photo session with Marilyn Monroe in 1961. The photos, taken only a few months prior to her death, became some of the most noteworthy ones of her, thereby kick-starting his career.
Over the years, various notable persons later posed for Kirkland, from the great photography innovator Man Ray and photographer/painter Jacques Henri Lartigue to Dr. Stephen Hawking. Entertainment celebrities he photographed included Romy Schneider, Audrey Hepburn, Mick Jagger, Sting, Björk, Arnold Schwarzenegger, Morgan Freeman, Orson Welles, Andy Warhol, Oliver Stone, Mikhail Baryshnikov, Angelina Jolie, Leonardo DiCaprio, Coco Chanel, Marlene Dietrich, Brigitte Bardot, Judy Garland, Elizabeth Taylor, Sophia Loren, Catherine Deneuve, Michael Jackson, Paris Hilton, and Diana Ross. Kirkland's portrait of Charlie Chaplin is at the National Portrait Gallery in London.
Kirkland was contracted for work around the world and worked in the motion picture industry as a special photographer on more than 150 films. These included 2001: A Space Odyssey, The Sound of Music, Sophie's Choice, Out of Africa, The Pirate Movie, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, Romancing the Stone, Titanic, and Moulin Rouge!. Some of his famous film shots include John Travolta in the dance sequence from Saturday Night Fever, a portrait of Judy Garland crying, and the March 1976 Playboy pictorial of Margot Kidder. In 1995 Kirkland received a Lifetime Achievement Award from the American motion pictures Society of Operating Cameramen.
Kirkland's picture book, Titanic (1998), was the first of its kind to reach No.1 on the New York Times Best Seller list and did so on both the hardcover and paperback lists. He followed this with the book project titled A Life in Pictures, which was released in 2013. - Wikipedia

Past the Peaks: A Series.
After facing their doppelgangers, Laura Palmer and Dale Cooper get out from the Black Lodge and face the consequences of such action. Meanwhile, some of the other Twin Peaks townsfolk decide to make something out of the revelation of the town's dark nature after the disappearence of Special Agent Dale Cooper and the now inexistent death of Laura Palmer.
Also known as "Past The Peaks", this is my post canon lodge dodge Twin Peaks au!  The folks at TP notice something is definitely wrong with the man that looks like Cooper so after interrogating him (with Albert), they put him back on the Black Lodge. The real Cooper comes out (having embraced his doppelganger and accepted himself for who he really is (not really) + helping Laura Palmer into doing the same thing, now that he can finally protect her) but he has all his wounds back so he's hospitalized immediately and is dead for a few minutes (in that period he meets again with his mother in an universe where she never died) until he comes back to life. Laura doesn't wake up in the Black Lodge but wakes up in Jacques's cabin instead, and meets up with Donna. Somehow, there was a timeline change (courtesy of Coop) that led to Laura's disappearence instead of her death. Laura gets her wounds cleaned by Donna and leaves the town with her, trying to figure out what to do next now that she's left her family for good.
WORKS:
Silver Moon Over Sleeping Steeples (Cooper centric): Dale Cooper has escaped the Black Lodge after embracing his doppelganger, but after BOB starts to possess him and try to turn him into the monster Dale never wanted to be, he must come to terms with his flaws and face his biggest fears to reclaim power over his own body again. This work contains descriptions of rape and suicide attempts among other things, so read at your own discretion. You can find it here on tumblr and in my ao3!
Since Yesterday (Laura centric): Laura Palmer lives, and BOB wants her more than ever. As she tries to start over with Donna, Laura will have to find a way to make BOB get out of her life forever. This fic is still not finished because I want to make Laura right as well as being careful with her, but it will be as graphic as Silver Moon when I publish it.
A Cigarette and a Silouhette (Audrey centric): After surviving the explosion, Audrey leaves the town with Johnny and lands a job on an up and coming production of a neo-noir horror film as the leading lady. After meeting screenwriter Trudy, Audrey gets visited by ghosts that linger on the velvet curtains. This fic is not finished.
Hanging On The Telephone (Diane and Denise centric): Replacing Cooper and Albert, Diane and Denise are now part of the Blue Rose task force. During their transfer, they get a mysterious phonecall. This fic is not finished.
Morning Sun (Annie centric): Annie Blackburn escapes the Black Lodge looking like a broken porcelain doll. Norma, Ed and Cooper help Annie get back on her feet. This fic is not written BUT I'm planning to make one for her because I love Annie <3
By This River (Cooper and Laura centric): Thirty five years later, Dale and Laura remember Twin Peaks. Link for ao3.
Under Stars (Cooper centric): The last time Dale had a good birthday, he got a letter. Fifty-years later, he gets a letter for his birthday. Link for ao3.
If you'd like, read them and tell me what you think via asks or leaving a comment on ao3 since I adore those kinds of messages! If you have any questions about my au, send an ask!
BTW: I am not fixing Twin Peaks canon by making this nor am I improving the show (because I already love it the way it is). This is a what-if that I've had since 2022 and that I've been improving!

I’ve now watched the first episode of Season 2 of Twin Peaks and omg that ending scene is one of the scariest things I’ve seen in a bit. I definitely feel like they’re ramping up the creep factor for this season. Like I see now why some people said this show scared them. Like so now we know for sure that the grey, long-haired man is Laura’s killer and I’m curious who this man is. Is he this “Bob” guy that James said Laura was talking about in her song or no. Like I’m assuming he’s supernatural of some kind and not entirely human or maybe not idk.
Speaking of supernatural, we’ve now got this strange tall man who’s helping Agent Cooper solve this crime. Also, the beginning scene of this season is peak comedy and stress, haha. Like the casualness of the old man and Cooper’s conversation while he’s lying there bleeding was great. I also just love how polite Cooper is even when he’s literally bleeding to death.
Also, this season we have a few new mysteries to solve like the three riddles from the tall man: the man in a smiling bag, the owls aren’t what they seem, and without chemicals he points. We already had the first one happen so we’ll see what the next two mean. Also, there seems to be something going on at the hospital with the food, like it’s poisoned or something. Also, we had the one-armed man come back where he acted weird and had a strange interaction with Lucy. Then, we have the strange vision that Laura’s cousin had of blood on the carpet and Leland’s hair seems to have have gone completely white overnight in response to him killing Jacques I guess.
Another big thing I noticed is that Donna had a huge personality change overnight and now she’s acting kinda like Laura or something. Like does this mean she’s being influenced by some outside force, does this mean that she’s going to be “Bob’s” next victim.
Also, poor Audrey is being held hostage at one-eyed jacks without anybody knowing where she is. I really hope Agent Cooper finds her note soon and comes to save her. Her praying and begging to him to come find her was so sad, and I don’t know why that tall man couldn’t have just told Cooper that Audrey needed his help instead of being vague and saying you forgot something.
Lastly, Ronette is now awake and I’m worried about her, I’m scared someone is going to try and kill her to stop her from saying what happened.
Anyway, this first episode got off to a very exciting start and I’m excited to see what comes next.

The timeline of twin peaks is insane like when the judge asks Cooper how long he’s been in twin peaks Cooper replies “12 days” which means that in 12 days after the murder of Laura Palmer and the attempted murder of Ronnette Pulaski, there was Laura’s funeral, the Packard sawmill burned, Leo Johnson tried to kill Shelly and then got his ass shot himself, Hank got out of prison, Dr Jacobi had a heart attack, Audrey got kidnapped and nearly died, Nadine tried to kill herself, Jacque Renault was arrested and then murdered, and Cooper himself got shot. All of that in less than 2 weeks.
