What Lies Below
Attuma x Reader
Summary: Finding a job on an isolated island in the middle of nowhere was your introverted dream come true. Little did you know what was lurking in the ocean.
Attuma's head was the only thing out of the water, the rest of his body stayed hidden in the deep blue.
His eyes followed her as she walked along the beach.
She was new.
He saw the ship which dropped her off. He assumes she was the new keeper of the lighthouse.
He watched as she looked around the small island.
Attuma had seen many humans come and go from this very island. He was tasked to keep an eye on it as it was rather close to Talokan and Kukulkan wanted someone to have an eye out.
Attuma was sure no human knew about their city, nor were they looking for it, their presence on the small island in the middle of the water was way simpler.
To keep the ground managed and the lighthouse in shape.
Attuma checked the house and the light many many times. It was nothing but an old device, it wasn't looking under the water, not trying to find vibranium or anything.
A simple lighthouse to show sailors the way.
This was the first time Attuma had seen a woman on the island.
He scared off or killed many people on the island. Attuma needed to keep his home safe and when the humans got bored, they started to look. He couldn't have that.
Attuma assumed she would be just as easy to deal with.
He soon left, heading back to his home to report to Kukulkan.
---
You really thought this would be worse.
But your introverted self jumped on the opportunity as soon as you heard that you could work all on your own, on a lonely island in the middle of nowhere?
Sounds like a dream?
No? To you it did.
Alone with an easy job and a good salary.
You would get weekly supplies sent to you with a ship.
Sounded like a dream.
But you could also clearly see the red flags. First of all, the sailor who just dropped you off mentioned that you were the fifth that summer.
Meaning four people before you took the job and then left or worse.
You tried to joke that perhaps a shark took the others, but when you saw the look in his eyes... your smile fell.
The island looked nice, the lighthouse was also in rather good shape, and the small house next to it will be your home for a couple of months. Hopefully.
You thanked the man who showed you around before he headed back to his boat. With basic knowledge and some internet connection, you felt ready for the job.
"Be careful about storms! Out here they are very harsh! I suspect one of the kids before you must have been taken by a wave. Don't leave the house, nothing's worth your life." he said before getting on his boat and leaving.
You could say he was a grumpy old man.
But he had experience and you knew you had to listen to him.
And you did.
---
"All surface dwellers are dangerous! We must be cautious about her. As my general, I trust you the most to watch her. As long as you deem necessary." Kukulkan nodded at Attuma who agreed with the decision.
He will keep an eye on the woman.
He had been watching her for days now. Day and night, Attuma watched her closely trying to figure out her real purpose.
As one night fell, Attuma felt braver than before as he emerged from the water.
Studying her for days, he knew her routine. A simple routine, easy to remember.
Since Kukulkan didn't deem the woman to be killed, Attuma wanted more information which he can present to his King.
Attuma walked quietly but with precision. He found the door unlocked and entered slowly, hearing soft snores coming from inside he was more confident that she was asleep.
He walked around the small house but found nothing of interest only her personal belongings, books, clothes, and a laptop.
He then walked to the bedroom. He had been in that house before. Once he took a man from the bed into the ocean.
The man had been looking underwater, mumbling about people he saw in the water. He was a danger.
Attuma watched her sleep soundly.
She looked very comfortable and calm. She was completely unaware of the danger right in front of her.
Attuma watched her for a moment before heading out again.
Reporting back to his King the next morning.
Kukulkan was still not convinced and Attuma was sent back to watch her.
---
You, completely unaware of the attention, continued your job as you were supposed to.
Two weeks now have passed and the old man arrived with your food for the upcoming week. As usual he made no effort to chat, he dropped off your food and necessities before getting back on his ship with the list you handed him of things you would need.
But you were okay with it. He doesn't have to talk with you if he doesn't want to.
You were back in your routine.
Another couple days passed. And it seemed like the wonder of being alone started to wear off.
Not even the fact that you missed human interaction, you missed the shops.
You would kill for some Burger King right about now, but all you had is the lasagna you prepared yesterday or some ice cream. That did sound rather amazing right now.
You let out a sigh and decided to check the snack drawer.
With a twix in hand, you went out to the porch and sat down.
For a couple of days now, you have been getting a feeling. As if you were being watched.
You were sure it was only your imagination and your secluded lifestyle at the moment which was getting to you.
---
Attuma watched you closely for the entire time. Watching you as you walked around the island, cleaning, planting new flowers, cleaning the lighthouse, and making sure it functions.
He watched you sleep. He found himself spending more and more time watching your sleeping form.
He was certain you weren't a threat. Not to Talokan, not to him, and not to anyone else.
You must be a gentle soul.
A beautiful and gentle soul.
Attuma never felt so conflicted in his entire life. He wanted nothing more than to talk to you, get to know you. And yet, here he was, a warrior, a general under Kukulkan. A man who never lost their vision of the most important thing, keeping Talokan safe.
In his mind, he knew what he was doing is wrong. He knew that his bravery in walking onto land even during the day was a great risk. He knew all of this and yet, his heart told him other things.
His heart told him to look after this precious woman, to keep her in his arms.
He never felt so uncertain in his entire life.
Sometimes he forgot that even if he was a general, a friend of Kukulkan, a warrior, he was also a man.
A man who lived a long life and has an even longer in front of him.
A man who never craved for a woman more than he is craving now.
But he knew it was wrong. He knew he must not have these feelings.
He knew he needed to find a solution.
Each day, he reported to Kukulkan. Each day he told him he was convinced the woman was no threat. But he feared his King might stop his investigation. Attuma feared he wouldn't be able to see you again.
"Thank you brother. You have been watching her for many days now. You may go back to your duties."
"I do wish to keep an eye on her still. If we send someone they might get seen." Attuma's reasoning was correct. Kukulkan however, sensed something else.
"Is she a warrior?"
"No, she tends to the gardens and feeds the seagulls. Sometimes he feeds the fish."
"Is she dangerous?"
"Certainly not. One of our weakest could take her down in a matter of minutes."
"Then why do you insist on watching her?" Kukulkan wasn't mad, he was more intrigued. He has never seen her brother like this.
"In case it is all an act. In case she communicates with others so they could find Talokan. I think it would be best if I watch her, in case my fears are correct and we need to jump into action." again, Attuma's reasoning was spot on. But something didn't feel right to the King.
"Did you perhaps grow some form of attachment?"
"Of course not, she is but a surface dweller." it almost hurt for him to say those words.
Kukulkan watched his brother closely, even if his people thought him to be a God, he was blinded by his rage and hatred. However, he would never want his brother to suffer.
"Keep an eye on her then. If what you assume is true, kill her. I don't require daily reports from now, weekly should be enough." Attuma nodded before he swam off.
Kukulkan watched Attuma leave, trying to hide his smile behind his hand.
---
That night, there was a terrible storm. Thankfully it hit after you already were done with your chores so you could hide inside the house.
You looked out the window but you weren't able to see much.
However, you swore you saw a head in the water.
You panicked. What if someone was drifted from a ship?
You grabbed your jacket and headed out into the storm.
There was thunder, the wind was crazy as you looked at the beach and the water.
"Hello?!" you yelled, trying to stay on the sand as the water raged. "Is someone there?! I can help you!" but no answer came and you saw no one. Slowly you walked a bit further, the ocean hitting your ankles. "IS SOMEONE THERE?!" you yelled from the top of your lungs. Trying to see the person you believe you saw again but the rain didn't help.
"HELLO?!" you tried once more.
You decided to head back but on your way a huge wave hit and you lost your balance, the water quickly dragged you in and soon, you were panicking.
You knew it was not helping, you tried to swim but you couldn't because the waves were too big. Then you were thrown against a rock and you hit your head. You were in and out of consciousness.
But you swore you felt a hand and an arm moving around you.
---
You woke up with a start and a terrible headache.
You swore you have been in the water, you should be dead but then why were you inside the house in your bed?!
Was it all a dream?
No. The little bump on your head said otherwise.
You tried to recall just how you managed to get back on shore and into the house but you couldn't.
Was it the adrenaline that kicked in?
You weren't sure.
You remember heading out to the beach because you thought you saw a head, trying to save the person you were taken in by a huge wave and nearly drowned. But you didn't.
How?
---
"You saved her." Kukulkan looked at his general, Attuma failed to notice the mischief in his King's eyes.
"She was drowning," Kukulkan smirked.
"You like her, Attuma. Just admit it."
"My King, I would never... a surface dweller? Unheard of."
"Not really. We do have people who were once living on the surface, you know that. Good and loyal people. And you did say she is a kind person."
"My King, Kukulkan I-"
"You must be torn, my brother. Having feelings like that must take a toll on a person even as strong as you are. But I have been told love is a stronger driver than hate. If she chooses so, she can live with you here." Attuma was stunned.
"Y-You approve of her?"
"She must be special if she caught your eyes, Brother." Kukulkan nodded as he felt as if a huge weight just got lifted off of his shoulders.
But it was put right back on when he realized he will have to know someone speak with you without scaring you.
He also didn't want to scare you so you would run and he would need to kill you before you could reveal his secret.
He couldn't help but recall the worry in your voice yesterday. How you called out for someone who you thought needed help. It almost lead to your demise. But at least he got to see you up close.
Attuma bowed to his King before leaving.
Now, somehow he had to come up with a plan and not scare you in the meantime.
---
You stood on the beach, looking at the water, trying to see something, anything.
You walked around the island at least three times now, trying to find the person you saw.
But now, you started to believe you were imagining things.
You went on with your routine but then something weird happened. Bones started to appear on the beach. You stood there utterly confused as to just how did a shark's skull end up on your beach? Only the skull as well, no body or other bones. Just a skull in the sand.
You were truly baffled.
And over the upcoming days, you found more and more bones.
Sea creature skulls and one time even an emerald necklace. It was a small emerald gem on a gold necklace.
It confused you more than the skulls did.
---
You let out a long sigh, as night soon arrived, you went back to your routine, turning the light on before walking back down the stairs.
As you turned around the house to put away your broom in the small shed at the back, you nearly tripped over when you saw a man standing there.
It was no ordinary man either. He had a shark skull on his head, weird clothes and blue skin.
Could it be that he was the man you saw last night?
You just stood there too stunned to say something. He was also clearly caught off guard.
"Do you live here?" you asked, assuming he lived on the island but he shook his head. He spoke in a language you couldn't understand. "Are you... injured?" he shook his head again, no, so he clearly understood you, so he must speak your language. Then you decided the best way to deal with this was by turning around and heading back inside the house.
As you turned the corner you turned back and looked at him still standing there.
So he wasn't your imagination.
Cool.
Or not?
You went into the house and sat down, looking at the door you tried to make sense of things. Then you heard the man walk onto the porch and the door opened slowly, he looked huge in the doorway. Not only tall but muscular as well.
You were sure he was there to kill you. Now you knew what happened to the others before you.
As he took a step inside you stood up from the chair.
"I won't tell anyone, I promise! But they will send more people if I disappear! They will look for me." you knew no one would care, but he didn't have to know that.
"Won't hurt you." he suddenly said and you didn't know if it scared you more or calmed you a little.
There was something about his voice which you found incredibly charming. A slight ring to it, like a melody.
You found it strange how someone so huge and blue and covered in bones could be so calming.
"Then what do you want? Are you the ones who left the bones on the beach?" he nodded once, the jewellery around him chiming at the movement. "Why?" you asked, voice barely above a whisper.
"Gifts. Talokan women like gifts from strong men, the most impressive gift will decide who can court the woman."
"Talokan? Is that your home?" he nodded again. "Hold on just a moment! Hold on! So, you live in the ocean? In Talokan? Are you the one who killed the people before me?"
"Couldn't trust them. Talokan's safety is the priority."
"So, you killed them, but you are leaving me gifts to court me?! I must be dreaming. This cannot be real... A blue man from the sea is trying to court me?! You must be joking!"
"I'm not. I would be a good partner to you. I'm a general under the King, I am loyal, a great warrior."
The way he looked dead serious, you must be dreaming.
This cannot be real.
You refused to believe that this was real.
You needed to pinch yourself, you must be dreaming, or last night, you died at this was your purgatory.
"Yesterday, you saved me?"
"You were drowning. I helped."
"You were the one I saw in the water, I went to help you and a big wave took me in. I was drowning, and what you put me back to bed?"
"Indeed."
"I-I need time to think."
Attuma understood, he handed you a shell. "Place this in the water and call for me, I am Attuma. I will come to you as soon as I can." and with that, he walked out of the house, you rushed to the door and watched him walk back into the ocean.
You were truly going mad.
The next day, you found yourself sitting on the sand, watching the water, you tried to gather your thoughts.
So, he was an underwater... man? He has been watching you because he is a general and has to protect his home. Okay... He killed the people before you because they were a threat to his people. Okay... And he wanted to court you... Like what?!
Was this some kind of a sick joke? No the man who drops off your food is not the pranking type.
So, it had to be real. But even the thought of people living underwater sent a shiver down your spine. But it did make a lot of sense. Androids, aliens, wizards and now, water-people. Why not?
You had a feeling your fate would be sealed if you tried to contact anyone about them. You had a feeling you would be dead in a matter of seconds if you tried to. Now it made sense why you felt as if someone was watching you all the time. He was monitoring you so he could report if you had done something.
You weren't going to lie, this all sounded extremely intriguing. You found Attuma to be very interesting, the mystery of it all.
He was huge and you could tell he was a great warrior but his eyes were so kind and soft.
The gifts he left you, were all intricately picked, cleaned and placed in the sand for you to find. You wondered how could you show him that you were interested. Flowers? Maybe not.
You held the shell which he handed you yesterday.
"Attuma." you whispered before letting it into the water, you watched as it was taken away. Soon, he started to walk out of the water.
"Did you make up your mind?" he asked and you nodded. "Then please, let my torture end with an answer."
"I would like to get to know you better." you said as he stood in front of you.
You watched as his posture became more straight. His lungs filled with confidence. The mask on his face hides his smile.
"But I am terrified of water." this made him stop in his tracks. "Deep water, of which you can't see the bottom of. Scares me to no end."
"Why?"
"When I was young, my grandma took me to the ocean one summer. I wandered in too far and nearly drowned. Ever since that day, I am terrified of deep water."
"Then I will help you."
"I know how to swim, I just..."
"I'll help you. I won't let you drown." he said as he took the mask off his face and guided it to your face.
With that, he helped you into the water, you clung to him like a baby koala would to their mother.
The mask did help you breathe normally which you were thankful for.
"I will help you get comfortable in the water. Then, we will work from there."
"Thank you." you watched as his skin changed from blue to a gorgeous brown, it made you smile. Now, you could see his face without the mask and he was rather handsome.
You swam around a lot that day, to the point where you got rather tired. Attuma had to carry you back to the house.
It became somewhat of a routine for him. You cleaned up the island as you normally would, water your plants before he would take you on swimming lessons.
He was a really good teacher.
He told you what to do and never pushed you further than you were willing to go.
Even if you were shaking with fear, you still wanted to learn. At least it gave something for you to do and look forward to.
Each day you got more and more used to having him around. Each passing day, you started to see him for who he was, not the scary blue water man but Attuma.
He talked a lot about his home and his people. He shared the story of his people with you, how ancient his society was and how they survived for so long.
He talked about his king, Kukulkan, Attuma said he was like a brother to him.
You also told him about yourself. Telling him about your family and how you grew up and how you ended up in the middle of the ocean. Oh how glad he was that you two met.
One rather cold morning, you stood on the beach, waiting for him but he was late.
He was never late.
You were worried something might have happened.
You spent all day on the beach, worried sick.
You only headed back when the rain started.
You sat on the porch, watching the water, but soon, it got dark.
You were very worried but you needed to head inside or you might catch a cold.
The next morning, you did the same, sitting on the sand just waiting and waiting. But somehow, he didn't come.
Now, you were angry-worried.
"FINE! THEN DON'T COME! AS IF I CARE!" you yelled before you kicked the sand and headed to get some work done.
Occasionally glancing at the water, but nothing.
You sat once again on the porch, bouncing your leg up and down.
The sun was at it's highest point and you were already finished. You cleaned more than you should have. In your last desperate attempt, you walked to the beach and collected shells, sending them into the water one by one. After you sent the fifth you noticed someone emerging from the water. You watched him as he just stood there, a shell in your hand.
"Are you hurt?" he asked as you could see his eyes checking you. You threw the shell at him, it bounced off of his chest and back into the water.
"Where were you?!"
"I was-"
"Do you know how worried I was?!"
"I-"
"I was worried sick! I thought something happened! And then you come waltzing out of the water as if nothing happened?!"
"Waltzing? What's th-"
"How dare you! Do you know what you did to me?!" a tear ran down your face. "I was so worried, I thought you got hurt or worse!"
"We had some issues with Wakanda. I'm sorry. Kukulkan needed me, Talokan needed me." he spoke as he walked closer to you.
"I needed you." you said before hugging him.
Attuma didn't even realize just how attached you got to him, while he knew he was already in love with you, he failed to realize that you share similar feelings.
It was hard for him to stay away from you. But he needed to, he would think about you every given moment. Even as he was fighting all he could think about was you.
"I missed you too." he admitted as his arms moved around you. He had to mind his own strength.
"I want to go with you, live with you. Like the people you told me about."
"Would you really? You want to live with me?"
"Of course, the last almost two days without you made me realize just how much I love you, Attuma. I want to go with you, live with you, marry you. I want you, if you will have me." He removed his mask and leaned down, capturing your lips with his in a soft kiss.
"I will prepare everything, My Love. Tomorrow, I'll come and get you, in case you change your mind-"
"I won't." you reassure him as you both smiled at one another.
Attuma has never swam faster than on that day, going straight to his brother to tell him the news who was happy for him.
They got a fruit prepared and both went to you the next day.
"This is my king, Kukulkan." said Attuma as he introduced you two. "And my king, this is the woman who captured my heart."
"Welcome to Talokan. Your turning might be painful, but it is necessary so you can come and live with us."
"I'm prepared for the pain because I know happiness awaits me." you smiled at Kukulkan as he nodded.
"My brother chose well." he handed you a blue flower and you took a deep breath. Kukulkan turned and left you alone.
Attuma took a step closer to you as he watched you with careful eyes.
"I will miss the flowers."
"You can come visit when you wish."
"For sure, one day I want our children to see the place where we fell in love." Attuma laughed a little and you offered him one last smile before taking the plant.
You were ready for your new life with him.

The Stranger - Pt. 3
Part One | Part Two
Pairing: Namor x Reader
Word Count: 5.5k
Warnings: Language, Violence, Depictions of drowning, Fluff
Summary: Delivered to safety following the battle on the beach, you are left reeling as you grapple with nightmares and questions about an uncertain future. But as you come to know more about the Talokanil people and grow closer to their king, Namor is faced with a question of his own -- what does he do with this stranger from the surface?
A/N: It’s heeeeeere!! As always, thank you so much for your patience, for being here, and for reading! And a BIG thank you just for taking the time to engage with and be a part of this story. You all have been so encouraging to me as new writer, and I love being able to create something around characters that so many hold so dear. Comments and reblogs make my heart happy, so please show some love, share the joy, and be kind!
***I do not give permission to copy, plagiarize, or repost my work as your own in any form!
Bullets fly as bodies hit the ground in front of you. There on the open beach, spears soar high above your head. Your gaze is drawn to the heavens as a chopper falls from the night sky. It crashes onto the shore below, an intense heat flashing against you as you shield your face from the explosion.
Suddenly, the sounds of dying men and burning metal fade as you lower your hand. You look down to find yourself waist-deep in a raging sea, the battle on the sand becoming a distant memory as waves beat harshly against you, unrelenting and unforgiving. A deafening melody accompanies each swell of the tide. It consumes your mind with pain and serenity as you are pulled further out into the ocean’s depths, following its call. The chorus grows louder as the water rises to your chest, building with intensity. Then, suddenly, all is quiet.
And there he is.
Hovering just above the water’s surface, his winged ankles carry him effortlessly. His reflection glistens perfectly against the water, now calm and smooth as glass. Illuminated by the full moon behind him, his body is covered in beautiful armor made of gold, jade, and other metals. A finely crafted serpent headpiece with bright feathers crowns his head, resting just above his brow.
Namor.
Wordlessly, Namor stretches out his hand, beckoning you to come to him. You reach out as if your very being is at his command. But, before you can grasp hold of him, the chorus of voices returns with a vengeance. A violent tide drags you under, swallowing you beneath the waves. Further and further down you are pulled as darkness surrounds you. Looking up toward the fading light, Namor’s silhouette above the surface dissolves from view. Your lungs burn as you begin to drown.
You jolt awake, your body shooting up in a cold sweat.
Chest heaving, your mind desperately claws its way back to reality. You quickly scan your surroundings, clinging to any detail that will anchor your consciousness and keep you from slipping back into that nightmare.
Gripping the stone surface beneath you, you take in every porous curve your fingertips graze over. Looking upward at the high rocky ceiling, you study the patterns of limestone stalactites that hang like icicles. Droplets of water run down a few of them, their melodious drips echoing in small pools below, falling like a gentle, rhythmic rain.
This is the place Namor had spoken of the last time you saw him. The one where he promised you would be safe. And for good reason — here in this cavern, you were well below the ocean’s surface and out of range of any agents who might come searching for you.
By your best guess, you figure you have been down here about two days. It’s hard to be sure without the reference to natural light. The cavern itself is beautiful, though. Illuminated by pockets of glow worms that drape down from the ceiling, their soft luminescence casts gorgeous green and blue hues across each surface their light touches.
As your heart rate begins to even out, you continue to survey the cave. You look over at your belongings, bag laying on the ground, clothes hanging on a line to dry. Your heart drops a bit when you see your little leather-bound book, its pages separated and spread out across the rocks. Ink bleeding. Pages ruined. You had made your best attempt to salvage what you could. Perhaps if you had asked Namora how the two of you would be traveling to this safe haven, you wouldn’t have brought a damn book with you.
The dissonance of the Talokan melody still rings in the back of your mind. You cradle your head between your knees, rubbing your temples with your thumbs when you hear light footsteps approach.
Looking up, you find a familiar face entering the cavern. No longer geared up for battle, Namora dawns a lovely dress that gathers over one shoulder and flows down to the floor. It moves like waves with each step she takes toward you. Instead of a spear in her hand, she now carries a small tray with a medley of food.
“Eat," Namora says, placing the tray on a small end table beside you. She then moves gracefully over to your draped belongings, removing them one by one from the line and folding them into a neat pile.
“Can I ask you a question?” You inquire as you begin to nibble on a piece of food.
Namora shoots a skeptical look over her shoulder but says nothing, so you ask anyway.
“Have you always been a warrior?”
Unresponsive, she keeps her attention on one of your shirts which she has just pulled from the line, tucking it into itself and placing it with the others.
“It's just, I mean the way you fought those agents on the beach, you are — you are very good at, you know—” you should have given more thought to what you were going to say before opening your mouth because as you reach the end of your sentence all that comes out is, “—killing people."
Nice.
You cringe at your comment. It hangs in the air, practically mocking you.
“I’m just saying," you add, trying to recover, "you obviously know what you’re doing. It was impressive. Me on the other hand…” Your voice trails as you raise your bandaged hand, recalling how your first instinct in a fight was to block a fucking knife with your open palm. Next to Namora, your combat skills pale by comparison.
Halting her task, Namora finally turns to face you in one calculated motion. She stares for a moment then her eyes quickly dart toward the side entrance of the cavern where she had come through only minutes ago. The entryway is empty. When her eyes settle back on you, there is resolve in them.
“Up.” She says, walking toward you with purpose.
“What?” You reply in a tone that matches the confused look on your face.
“Up.”
You do as you are told, hastily pushing yourself to your feet. Namora steps in close and then taps your elbows.
“Up.” She orders a third time, only now she seems to be referring specifically to your arms. You follow her instruction, raising them awkwardly out in front of your body. You can almost hear the sigh of hopelessness when Namora, her brow furrowed, grabs your arms and positions each one in a fighting stance. Slipping a hand up to your left wrist, she grips it firmly while tapping your exposed forearm with the palm of her other hand.
“Shield.” She says with emphasis. Her eyebrows raise, looking for any indication that you comprehend what she is trying to explain. When you nod, Namora moves her hand from your wrist up to your fingers, balling them into a fist and tucking your thumb on the outside.
“Weapon.”
Namora then steps back from you, putting her own arms up to mirror your stance.
“Shield, weapon,” she repeats, patting her forearm and waving her closed fist.
“Shield, weapon,” you echo back to her, nodding your head again as you begin to understand more fully.
Just as she begins to step back toward you, a deep voice calls from behind.
“Namora.”
You both look up to see the large man who wears the hammerhead skull standing in the entry of the cavern. Attuma is his name, as you have come to learn. Namora straightens her posture as she turns to face him, her hands behind her back as she squares her shoulders in a commanding stance.
Attuma saunters a few more feet into the cavern, then speaks to her in their native tongue, a language still unfamiliar to you. The two of them converse back and forth for a few moments. You may not know what they are saying, but you can tell they disagree about something — whether with each other or someone else, you are not sure.
Namora swiftly turns back to you, her face serious again and her brows pinched together.
Fighting lessons must be over.
“Come,” she says.
Without any further instruction, she pivots back toward Attuma, who also turns to leave. You quickly grab your belongings which Namora had folded for you, stuffing them into your bag. You sling it around your shoulder as you exit the cavern.
Following the two generals into a tunneled hallway, you find yourself moving through a network of caves, each tunnel connecting to a series of other openings and pools. Soon, Attuma splits off into one of these open caverns, nodding to Namora as he does so. Your eyes trail him as he joins with more Talokan warriors, and just as you stare at them, they stare at you.
You continue walking behind Namora past them, their whispers reverberating through the tunnels.
“When was the last time someone… not Talokanil came here?” You ask. In typical Namora fashion, she remains silent and unresponsive to your question.
“Sorry,” you say apologetically, “back there it just seemed like they hadn’t seen someone new in a while.”
The two of you walk, furthering yourself from the turnoff where Attuma parted ways. Cautiously, you step around the uneven surfaces of the rocky ground. You can feel yourself being led deeper into the maze of caverns. If Namora decided to up and ditch you right now, you are certain you would be lost in this labyrinth forever.
“You are the first,” Namora says rather abruptly, catching you off guard. Not only does her response come well after your question was asked, but it is also the most she has ever said to you at one given time.
“The first?” You ask, perplexed. “What do you mean?”
“To come here,” Namora answers. “The first surface dweller to receive Talokan’s aid. The first the king has ever…” she pauses a moment, searching for the right word, “tolerated.”
The influx of her voice is not lost on you.
“And you don’t approve?”
“It is not my place to approve, " Namora clarifies as she leads you around a bend and past several open pools of water. "I am… concerned. When it comes to you, I fear he is blind.”
Silence befalls you both again as you enter another cavern, this one much larger and more spacious than any others you have seen. Within it are several large pools, glistening with light reflected from more glow worms above. Their tendrils hang from the high vaulted ceiling like sparkling chandeliers.
In the center of it all stands a large hut enclosed by beautifully woven fabrics. You follow Namora shoulder to shoulder up the stone-carved steps to it until you nearly reach the side.
“We’re here,” Namora says, coming to a dead stop. She then takes a step back from you.
Still unsure of where “here” is exactly, you glance over your shoulder, looking to her for further instruction or explanation. But Namora gives you nothing. The moment you begin to take a step backward as well, her hand shoots out, holding the back of your shoulder in position with a firm grip.
Ah. Don't move. Got it.
Subconsciously you begin to hold your breath, bracing yourself for the unknown.
Then, there he is.
From around the corner of the hut comes Namor. Immediately you are taken aback by his appearance. Up to this point, you have only seen him suited for battle. Now he stands before you dawning a beautifully woven cape plated with gold and draped across his broad shoulders. His hair is slicked back and his arms are adorned with various metal cuffs. Truly a wardrobe fit for a king.
A single nod of his head and Namora is dismissed. You hear her small footsteps fade as she leaves the two of you alone.
“How is your hand?”
Namor’s question snaps you out of your daze.
“Oh,” you raise your hand, glancing at the worn bandage. "It’s fine, thank you.”
Staring at the gauze, you can almost hear the lullaby Namor hummed as he gently tended to your wounded palm the night of the battle. Something flutters inside you as you touch the corner of the fabric. Realizing your mind has drifted again, you bring yourself back to reality by following up with your own question.
"Are we in..." you stop to rephrase, shifting your weight from side to side as you look around the cavern, “Is this… Talokan?"
If it is, it's very different from what you pictured.
Your question brings a smile to Namor’s face.
"No," he answers with a breathy chuckle, shaking his head. "Talokan is far beyond this place. I assure you, your body would not survive the journey to its depths. But these caverns are safe, I promise you.”
Namor then shifts the topic of conversation.
“I am told some of your belongings were ruined on your traveling here, including your book. I apologize. I had hoped to make up for it.”
With one arm, Namor ushers you around the corner to the entrance of his quarters, inviting you inside.
Intrigued and eager to see what awaits, you accept his invitation. As you enter, you find yourself in a study of sorts. Lit by several lanterns, the room is warm and bright. Within it sits a small table, a prominent desk full of scrolls and artifacts, and a cozy hammock hung in the corner. But what catches your eye most of all are the walls.
All around you hang gorgeous tapestry walls with breathtaking murals that stretch from floor to ceiling.
“Did you do all of these?” You ask in disbelief as you move to one at the far end of the room. Your eyes widen as you gaze in admiration at the beautiful artistry.
“Yes,” Namor answers humbly, following behind you. “I think you will find a more accurate depiction of my history here.”
“I don’t know,” you say with playful skepticism in your voice as you inspect the artwork closer, “always be weary of your authors, right?” You smirk as you shift your glance sideways to Namor, echoing his words back to him in jest. His face is serious at first but quickly turns to amusement.
“You remembered,” he says nodding his head, an impressed grin now stretching at the corners of his mouth, “that is good.”
You return your attention to the paintings. What a gift it is to be standing here in front of them. Full of stories, full of history. And to be accompanied by the man who created them himself — who lived them himself. It is all a far cry from the vague glyphs you tried so hard to decipher in your book.
"They're amazing." You say in awe, following along the panels as you trace the line work delicately with your fingertip.
Immersed in the murals, you are too busy to notice Namor's softening gaze as he watches you study his work so intently. Here you are, an outsider who he has welcomed into his space. It is not like him to be so open, especially not with a stranger from the surface — never someone from the surface — yet, something about you causes a stirring inside of him. Perhaps it is your enthusiasm and wonders for his culture or your refreshing dose of humanity towards his people that compels his desire to be close to you.
As you follow the artwork from panel to panel across the walls, you arrive at a scene that suddenly makes you freeze. Your wrist snaps your finger back as if repelled by the paint itself. In front of you is a large image of Namor dawning a serpent headpiece as he hovers above the water. You are immediately back in your nightmare, your mind flashing to Namor’s outstretched hand then the darkness that closes in around you as you start to drown. You can almost feel the fire in your lungs as they grow desperate for air.
“What troubles you?” Namor asks with genuine traces of concern in his voice. Your sudden silence has not gone unnoticed. He moves to stand shoulder to shoulder with you now, looking up to analyze the same part of the mural.
"Nothing," you lie, shaking your head while your hand drops to your side. You withdraw from the painting, taking a few steps back from it and Namor.
“Your people," you say to change the subject, pointing your thumb to the rest of the artwork in the room, "they honor you. It's admirable, what you've done for them. To keep them safe all this time."
“But?” He senses there is more on your mind.
You stare at him, then turn your focus back to the tapestries surrounding you. Scanning them from wall to wall, you notice a pattern in the stories shown.
“It’s just,” you begin with uncertainty in your voice “for someone who has spent his whole life bringing peace to his people, I wonder how much of it you have experienced for yourself?”
Namor is quiet for a moment.
"And why do you wonder this?" He finally replies, turning to face you fully.
“I guess I look at these and I’m curious… how? How can you do that without completely breaking under the weight of it all? Even with—” you begin gesturing to his body and suddenly become desperate to come up with the right words in time, “superhuman strength.” Thank god.
“Hmmm,” Namor exhales, thoughtfully nodding as his gaze drops to the floor. He folds his arms over his chest, the golden band around his exposed bicep reflecting the light that softly glows from a nearby lantern. Taking a few steps toward you, he lifts his eyes to yours.
“It is true,” he says, “the burden I carry for the sake of my people does not always permit me the personal luxury of peace. It… can be difficult.” His tone shifts from diplomatic to vulnerable. “And who is to say I have not broken under it? It is that brokenness that has made me the leader I am.”
Turning his head toward the mural, he looks at it carefully before speaking again. His chiseled jawline accentuates the exposed veins protruding from his neck.
"To your question,” he continues, “I believe how is never as important as why. Why would someone fight to bring others peace when they themselves cannot have it?” Namor takes another step closer and lifts his hand to your chin, delicately angling your face upward toward his own. "Because we sacrifice to protect what we love.”
His eyes search yours earnestly. After a moment, Namor quickly drops his hand from your chin and you watch as he moves towards his desk, shuffling a few scrolls around before looking back up at you again.
“I love my people,” he says, planting his hand firmly on the desk, “and I have seen evil, what it is capable of. I watch as the rest of the world grows desperate in their greed and ambition, their desire for power. They are becoming more dangerous by the day."
"You mean — surface dwellers?" You ask.
Namor raises his brow at you knowingly.
"Yes,” he answers cooly.
"I'm a surface dweller. Am I...dangerous?"
Namor sighs with a small smile.
“Yes. Though not in the way you may think.”
He moves from out behind his desk and back over in your direction.
“Now I have a question for you,” he says in a low voice, approaching you with a dark look looming over his face. “Please consider your answer carefully.”
The silence is intense. Your heart feels like it is going to jump out of your throat as you anticipate what damning question the king of Talokan has in store for you.
Namor’s expression changes on a dime, and he suddenly asks in a lighthearted tone,
“Are you up for a swim?”
—
You follow Namor out of his quarters and into the large open cavern. As you pass by several beautiful pools of water, you are enchanted by how the light dances across the rich tones of Namor's skin. The same light casts dazzling hues of aquamarine and cerulean across the surface of the pools, reflected onto the rocks surrounding them.
Namor approaches one of the bigger pools and removes the cape from his shoulder, exposing his bare chest underneath. Here is the Namor you recognize - prominent necklace, bare chest, emerald green shorts. Before dropping his cape to the ground, however, he pulls out a Talokan mask from the fabric like the ones Namora and the other warriors wear.
“Take a deep breath,” Namor says as he turns to you. He pushes your hair back from your cheek delicately as he applies the apparatus to your face. Doing as you are told, you inhale deeply as the mask fastens over your nose and mouth.
“Stay close,” he instructs. You nod, and Namor steps to the edge of the closest pool. He looks back at you with a hint of a smile on his face. Then, with all the strength and grace of a god, he dives perfectly into the water and disappears under the surface.
You step closer to the pool. The faint rhythm of droplets falling from the ceiling rings throughout the cavern. You glance behind you toward the entrance, but there isn't a soul in sight. Namora’s words echo through your mind.
When it comes to you, he is blind.
You dive in, following Namor.
Once in the water, you quickly orient yourself. Looking around, you see the outline of Namor, his silhouette waiting for you in the distance. As you swim closer, he gestures for you to follow him. You kick your feet to propel yourself further downward, ears popping as you equalize to the increasing pressure.
You swim until you are clear of the caves. Though your muscles ache, there is something serene about being beneath the water; the quiet, the weightlessness, everything drifting harmoniously in rhythm with the current. For the first time since you can remember, your mind feels still. Free from the chaos. Somehow, the vast open sea does not frighten you with its deep blue void as it did in your dream. Not even a little. Instead, you feel a calmness in your soul as you lose track of time entirely, trailing Namor as you move through the ocean’s depths.
Quite literally in his element, you watch in awe as Namor swims so effortlessly. To him, it must be as easy as breathing. He looks more relaxed than you have seen him. Perhaps even enjoying himself?
You continue to swim, the water getting lighter as the visibility becomes clearer. A school of fish rushes past, their scales glimmering with each flick of a fin or contour of their bodies. Countless numbers weave around you in sync as if part of the same carefully choreographed ballet. You can’t help but smile as you watch them move so freely, and Namor can't help but smile as he watches you.
Suddenly the fish rapidly disperse and within seconds a huge mass flashes past you with incredible speed and agility. Your eyes widen and adrenaline rushes through you as you witness a killer whale chase the school, its size completely dwarfing your mere human frame. Involuntarily, you begin hyperventilating as you watch the giant creature swim off into the distance. When you feel a touch against your arm, you turn to find Namor next to you. His hand rises and falls in front of his torso, gesturing for you to take deep breaths. In, out. In, out.
The two of you remain suspended in the endless ocean blue as you your breath slows and your muscles recover. Namor looks upward, and as you savor the moment of rest you follow his gaze. You can tell by the light above that you are getting close to the surface, which must mean you are nearing your destination. When he nods, you know it is time to move. Slowly the two of you start your ascent and the ocean becomes warmer as you gradually near the top.
When you arise from the water, the sound of the rushing wind, the rolling waves, and birds flying overhead rush into your ears. Less than a hundred meters from you stretches a beautiful coastline covered in soft white sand and lined by rich green foliage.
You make your way towards it. Soon you are walking knee-deep in the waves, the tide splashing against the back of your legs as you near the shore. Removing the mask from your face, the sweet breeze of the island races by, rustling your wet hair and filling your nostrils with the earthy aroma of some nearby palm trees.
Namor has already reached the sand. He stands tall, water still running down his body. Staring out at the horizon, he runs his hand over his face and pushes his hair back, inadvertently flexing his bicep as he does so. The sun slowly begins its descent toward the Earth, its warm rays casting brilliant tones of red and orange across Namor’s exposed skin. It contrasts the deep blues and greens that illuminated him in the caverns, and at this point, you are confident he looks devastatingly beautiful in any light.
As you reach the shore, you take your place next to him and stare out at the skyline.
“Hard to beat a view like that,” you say breathlessly.
“My mother would always describe to me the beauty of the setting sun,” Namor responds. “I have no love for the surface world, but from time to time I visit this island. See what she saw.”
“Is this—?” You begin to ask.
“Where she is buried.” Namor answers before you finish your question. His eyes drop as he reflects, “I am not sure what I expected to see the day I came to lay her body to rest. I suppose the beauty of an island she spoke of so fondly. Instead, I found my brothers and sisters enslaved by men who took life without a second thought.” His jaw clenches as he recalls the bitter memory. “But I saw to it the favor was returned.”
His meaning is clear. You are not sure which makes you more nervous — the calm and cool way he says it, or the menacing smile that accompanies his statement. Either way, his smile disappears as quickly as it comes. You have seen Namor’s ferocity firsthand and know what he is capable of, especially when it comes to protecting his people. A nervous feeling grows in the pit of your stomach as you begin questioning his purpose in bringing you here.
You consider the facts:
You are a surface dweller.
He did call you dangerous.
Oh shit.
Anxiously you glance at him, then redirect your gaze back to the horizon to maintain your composure. The soft waves break along the shore, racing up to your ankles. As the sand beneath your feet gets pulled out by the tide, you wish with all your might you could be pulled away with it. Instead, you sink deeper into the ground, more immovable than before.
“Are you going to kill me?” The words come out blunter than you intend, but you stand by them despite the quiver in your voice.
The question pulls Namor out of his thoughts as he turns to you, eyebrows raised. He studies your face carefully before answering.
“I probably should," he says. There is no malice in his words, only honesty. “The knowledge you have of me and my people... it puts me in a difficult position.” His eyes are solemn. "But I have lived a long time, and in that time I have witnessed many in their final moments before death when one truly reveals themself. That night on the beach, in what you believed were your final moments, you kept your word to me and my people. You said nothing to those men, even with your life on the line. There is no truer test of loyalty.”
Without a word, he reaches his hand out for the mask you still carry. You cautiously hand it over.
"There is a village eastward,” Namor continues, “you will find everything you need there, and the means to leave this place."
You feel his palm slip under your fingers to receive the mask. He takes a deep breath, then purses his lips in the direction behind you.
“Or, just up the way beyond those trees is a house. It is not much, but comfortable. It is yours to use... if you wish. You would be safe here.”
The offer catches you off guard.
“I… I don't understand." You mutter in slight confusion.
With a deep inhale, Namor squints back at the setting sun to collect his thoughts. Then, taking another step closer, he eliminates virtually any remaining space between you. His eyes are deep and mesmerizing as ever. Your heart races from his sudden proximity and you find yourself holding your breath as you wait for him to speak again. He peers down at you, so impossibly close that you can sense the rise and fall of his chest as he breathes.
"You are no enemy of mine," he says with authority, "and no prisoner of Talokan. You have my trust. And because of that trust, I will not order you to stay." Namor then drops the mask into the sand like it is worthless and gently slides his hands underneath your jawline, cradling your face in both of his palms. “But I am asking you to.”
You are speechless. The way he is holding your gaze, the tenderness of his thumb brushing against the apple of your cheek, the fluttering of his lashes as his eyes flick down to your mouth.
"Stay," Namor says fervently in one final clarifying word. It is not a command, but an invitation. Perhaps even a plea. But most importantly, it is a choice. Your choice.
His eyes quickly dart back up to yours as he awaits an answer, but even Namor is not strong enough to keep his attention from dropping back down to your lips. He is clearly focused on more than just the words he hopes to hear come out of them.
In an overwhelming wave of boldness, you allow instinct to take over. No lives at stake, no siren’s song — it is only the burning desire within your very soul for him that compels you. You close your eyes and melt into Namor’s touch, pressing your lips to his.
The moment you do so, it is as if a surge of energy courses through your veins, electrifying your entire body. Namor immediately welcomes your advance, molding his lips to your own. The smooth piece of jade that pierces his septum presses cooly above your lip, contrasting the heat of his skin to ignite your senses. As he slides a hand around to the back of your neck, his fingers curl into your hair to bring you in even closer.
A small moan escapes you as the tip of his tongue traces along your bottom lip. You can feel his smile against your mouth, then a tug at the same lip with his teeth. Another invitation, to which you gladly accept. You part your mouth open to let Namor inside. Both of your tongues dance together as your kisses become deeper and more indulgent.
Consumed by his taste and his touch, you slide your hands up his bare chest, desperate for more of him. Without missing a beat, Namor responds by running his arms down your body and hoisting you up off the sand with ease. You wrap your legs around him tightly and take full advantage of this new, higher angle. Moving your mouth in tandem with his, you savor the richness of his lips and entangling your fingers in his dark locks of hair.
The two of you ebb and flow just like the rolling ocean waves, losing yourselves in each other. It’s not until you feel a faint burning in your lungs that you face the harsh reality of having to break away for air. Everything inside you fights it. If Namor were the sea, you would gladly let yourself drown in this moment.
But Namor, also sensing your need for oxygen, begins to slow down. He lowers you gently to the ground, though he is careful not to let you slip too far away from him. The two of you breathe heavily as the sun begins to dip below the horizon. Namor gives you another passionate kiss, this one slow and deep. His lips then move to the corner of your mouth and trail up to your ear, the heat of his breath spreading like wildfire across your skin. You can feel your heart beating out of your chest. Holding you close, Namor leans his forehead against your temple and presses his lips against your ear.
“Please," he whispers. "Stay with me.”

Béet
Attuma x black chubby reader smut
summary: With the alliance between Talokan and Wakanda in full swing, training and tactical drills have become a common occurrence. You were one of Shuri’s best and brightest scientists, so why were you stuck on med bay duty and why was the Talokanil Shark General coming in so often? content warnings: canon-typical violence, smut, p in v, attuma himself is a warning, cussing, begging, no real plot just literal attuma brainrot, you need a big boy, thigh riding, fingering, no use of y/n cuz I hate that shit, reader is afab, attuma being an ass, namora okoye and shuri make a cameo
The first time she saw him she was late.
Having missed her first few alarms she was late to work again for the 5th time in a row. Late nights of researching and assisting Shuri with recreating more of the heart shaped herb had finally caught up to her. The dinging of the elevator signaling that she had reached her floor had snapped her out of her thoughts and just as she stepped out onto the lab floor she had to stop herself from damn near walking straight into a huge blue mass. There on the lab floor stood Attuma, one of the generals from Talokan, the nation they had just formed a new alliance with. She had seen him in passing before, mainly when he and the other general Namor came down to run drills with Ayo and Okoye, but never this up close and personal.
God, he was kinda fine.
“Tu'ux le le general?”
He asked, his baritone voice rumbled from his chest as he gave her a once over. The scientist before him was a little thing coming up just under his shoulders but like him was by no means skinny.
She then remembered they didn’t speak the same language as everyone else did, she couldn’t understand him but the word general made it a little easier to figure out what he was there for, he probably had training again.
“Oh you looking for Ayo?”
“Máax ka'ansaje' táan u cargo bejla'e' mina'an ba'ax in k'áaj” his voice came out a little raspier as he stalked closer if that was even possible, and looked down at her from under his lashes.
“Yeeeeah I don’t- I’ll just get Shuri for you” she started cheeks heating up as she felt boxed in. The man was intimidated and he definitely knew it. “I believe Attuma is asking for the General,” an overhead voice interrupted them, “Namora is already on the 14th-floor training with Ayo and Okoye. I’ve taken the liberty of letting them know he’s here.” The young scientist had never been more thankful for the A.I.’s presence.
“Thanks GRIOT.”
“It is my pleasure” Just as she was about to turn her attention back towards Attuma the dinging of the elevator caught her attention as she watched Okoye and Namora enter the lab, both women nodding to her as they entered.
“Llegas chúunk'iin u Attuma” Namora scolded as she crossed her arms over her chest and frowned at the man under her breathing mask.
Waving her off he walked past her into the elevator she just came from but not without giving the scientist one last once over.
That was the start of her week on med bay duty. Once she had finally gotten all clocked in and settled at her work station Shuri had stopped her before she could get too invested in what she had on her desk.
That was the start of her week on med bay duty. Once she had finally gotten all clocked in and settled at her work station Shuri had stopped her before she could get too invested in what she had on her desk.
“I’m beginning to worry about you sister, it’s not like you to be late”
“I’m fine Princess-“
Shuri called her name giving her a stern look as she closed the scientist’s laptop forcing her to focus on her.
“I’m just tired is all” she said with a sigh rubbing her forehead trying to ease the beginnings of a headache she felt coming on.
“Maybe you should take a break”
“I can’t afford to take a break, besides you need all the help you can get with this Princess we’re so close to bringing it all back for good.” She pleaded and as Shuri shook her head at her.
“And we will bring it back but not with you at half capacity”
“Shuri-“
“I’m putting you on medical duty. The warriors have been getting roughed up more than usual lately because of the Talokanil soldiers and they could use your help.”
“Are you grounding me?”
“If I have to” “You’re taking a break one way or another.” Shuri chuckled as she pat her on her shoulder and sent her on her way right back out the door she came from.
Shuri wasn’t lying when she said the warriors were getting hurt a lot more than normal lately. Normally the Dora Milaje never had a reason to stop by the medical center on the other side of the building, they could take any and everything that was thrown at them but she suspected that ever since the two generals started sparring with them that it was a little bit more than they could handle, especially from Attuma the man was big damn near the size of M’Baku and she liked that about him.
With her back to the door, the young scientist typed away on her laptop, finishing up her notes from the other night, she didn’t hear the door to the office open until it slammed shut behind the intruder. Startled she jumped in her seat and turned to see Attuma standing furiously as blood seeped from his arm.
“Jesus you scared the shit outta me!”
He didn’t say anything as he stalked over towards her, his dark eyes glaring down at her clearly telling her he didn’t want to be there.
“What happened?” She questioned putting in a pair of gloves and getting out the cotton swabs and cleaning solutions, the cut wasn’t too bad, it was superficial at best, but with him coming and going from the ocean she didn’t want to risk it getting any kind of infection.
Not waiting for him to answer not that she thought he would she gathered her supplies and got to work patching him up.
“You don’t talk very much do you?”
Again he said nothing.
With a sigh, she wrapped up his arm in a waterproof bandage and sent him on his way.
That was just the start of their little meet-ups. Every few days for the last few weeks Attumaor some of his men would come in with a new injury on either his face, his arms or his torso, each one just as bad as the last, courtesy of either Namora or Okoye and each time he visited was just as awkward as the last.
“So what’s the weather like in Talokan?”
“Are you guys only blue on the surface or do you stay blue underwater?”
“Yo, you have gils?! How do they work? “Are they sensitive? Is this kinda like a The Deep kinda situation?”
She tried desperately to make conversation each time she saw the man but each time he just glared at her and went on his way.
By the 5th visit she had resorted to just straight up being an ass to him, she could tell it irritated him but that was usually the only way she could get any kind of conversation out of him.
“Bet Okoye did that to you huh?” She questioned pressing an antibiotic-soaked cotton ball to the cut on his cheek
“She told me she kicked your ass the last time.”
Oh fuck he probably doesn’t understand me she thought as she tried to make conversation. Now that she thought about it she doesn’t know why but she never considered whether he could actually understand her or not, that was probably why he never really answered her.
“Leti' desearía yantalto'on in pateado le!” He growled back with a hiss startling her as the cotton ball in her had pressed to his cut a little harder than she meant, GRIOT translated for her.
“Oh, so he speaks!” She chuckled more to herself. “And you can understand me” She stood going to throw away her gloves, judging by how he had come back without so much as a scratch from his last visit she figured he’d heal by the end of the night and wouldn’t need any bandaging “You just like being stubborn.”
Again he said nothing as he stared her down but this time not with a glare but with an emotion she couldn’t quite place.
“We’ll congratulations you’ll live,” she said with a smirk. Once more Attuma looked her up and down, his expression unreadable before he turned on his heel and left.
The third time he came in it was different.
When he stormed into the med bay like he normally did she noticed almost immediately his wound was a lot more serious this time as blood was pouring from the cut on his neck pooling under his bone gorget. The young scientist jumped from her seat rushing to get her equipment stumbling as she moved about.
“What happened?!”
There was no time for their normal banter as she tried to figure out how to get him to remove his collar. Reaching out to touch the shark teeth that adorn it she’s stopped in her tracks as he aggressively grabs her wrist, tightly holding it in place.
“I need to treat your wound Attuma,” she reasoned snatching her arm back it looks bad.”
“Yéetel utsil” he huffed as GRIOT translated going to push past her to grab the bandages “Chéen envuélvelo yéetel túuxta'al in tin beel, ma' táan u humor teechi'”
“Look I know you’re used to throwin’ your weight around and getting what you want but I’m not about that shit ok?” She snapped back pushing him back so that he was leaning against the exam table. She knew he had let her but she liked to think she pushed him purely with her own strength. “You’re gonna sit here and let me clean you up.”
“Táak a in tin wu'uyaj meentik in” he snapped going to brush past her but as he reached for the door he felt her grab his forearm and stopped, turning to look back at her.
“Béet” she pleaded.
“Ba'ax” What? GRIOT translated
“ B-béet that’s how you say please right? I know you know what I’m saying so please just listen for once.”
“Multa.” he sighs through his nose going back to the examination table but sitting himself in her chair in front of it instead, if he was going to let her do this he definitely was going to give her an easy time.
“Are you going to tell me how this happened?” beginning to clean his wound out with a swab she thought she’d make small talk but Atuuma obviously had no intentions, examining his neck further she realized he was just another scrap like he always had but the blood pooling out of it had scared her, a lot more than she’d like to admit.
“We going back to the silent treatment again?” again he did nothing but stare as she worked on him from between his legs leaning over him continued to clean the now-closing injury.
With a sigh, she began to pull away when a hand on her arm stopped her "Ba'axten jach dispuesto a wáantiken?" GRIOT translated for him. His grip was firm but still somewhat soft. “It's my job to help you,” she said pulling away and looking into his eyes, there was that same unreadable look in them again. With a slight roll of the eyes. He released his grip. "Yaan ba'ax ma' táan a wa'alik ti' teen." His voice lowered with a bit of annoyance as the A>I> continued to translate for the pair. ”Like I said I know you're Mr. Big and Bad down on the battlefield but you don’t gotta be tough shit here, let somebody take care of you for once.” she said putting a hand to his cheek. His eyes narrowed slightly as he looked into her eyes. His annoyance left as his hand moved onto hers.
Attuma’s eyes briefly flickered up to her lips before going back up meeting her dark eyes again pupils blown wide. He reached up to brush her cheeks with his fingers, thumb tracing over her bottom lip before he leans his masked lips down to hers, trying to kiss her through the material heavy and needy, the force almost knocking her onto her back as she began to kiss him back.
Giving her chest a gentle squeeze his hand slid downward palming at her chest through her shirt drawing out a low moan as his other hand gripped at her thighs and hips practically dragging her into his lap as he worked her pants off.
“Beetej.” he breathed her in as he began to rock her clothed cunt against his knee soaking it in the process.
She moves her hips even quicker, rocking on his thigh, the inside of her own thighs soaked. “Fuck.” She moans, wrapping her arms around the back of his neck to hold him impossibly closer. Eyes closed she could practically feel Attuma staring up at her, his hands roaming her back and chest before coming to rest on her stuttering hips.
Gripping her hips hard he takes over, making her ride his thigh, basking in the soft sounds he was pulling from her. He can feel her cunt clenching against him through her underwear, can feel the wetness pooling on his bare thigh, and he fucking loved it.
“Beetej,” he groaned throwing his head back “Je'el u páajtal a take'”
Slowly, he presses his knee up higher as she grinds down on him adding even more friction. Her eyes fall close and her mouth drops open in a breathy moan as she tries to grip his broad shoulders, hands too small to fully encompass them. She’s unable to kiss him on his lips due to his mask but she still leans forward to press her forehead to his as he continued to work her open.
“Attuma.” She hissed, grasping at his hands as he increased his speed.
“B-bèet…”
“A'al ka'a.” he panted not relenting in his pace as he dragged her down even harder.
“Bèet- fuck please just don’t stop!” Hips bucking wildly she came with a hoarse cry, shaking and riding him as he still rocked her over his thigh.
“Please…” she continued to beg, beginning to feel the twinges of overstimulation. “Please…”
With a loud growl, he ripped her from his thigh and turned her around pressing her chest to the cold steel table below them. The temperature a sharp contrast to her hot skin, as she feels him begins to undress them both.
“Táak in wu'uyikech,” his dark gaze trailed down her back as he tugged her underwear down and tossed them to the side along with her top and bra. His fingers grazed over her clit softly before sinking in curling and scissor around in her spongey walls while his thumb worked at her sensitive bundle of nerves.
Having already been on the end it didn’t take long for her to come again around his finger. Looking back at him as she spasmed on the table she saw hi cock looking painfully hard and dark as it strained against his lower abdomen, leaking at the tip, and looking bigger than she’d imagined
“Jach jodidamente mojado,”Attuma’s voice was rough as he watched her come unraveled beneath him, her arms struggling to hold herself up at she twitched around him uncontrollably on the table.
“A'al ti' teen wa Yaaj in” he said slowly easing his cock into her as he pulled her up and turned her to be on top of him as he set himself back down into her desk chair almost not fitting as he spread his legs.
She cursed, burying her face in the crook of his neck again, her hands roaming his chest and shark tooth scarring on his tummy. She mouthed at his neck kissing at his gils under his apparatus as he began to thrust up into her, already setting a rough pace. They both moaned in unison as she started to bounce, her legs trembling as he split her open on his lap.
“Attuma fuck!”
“Teech jach jodidamente ki'ichpam,”he sighed, Attuma’s voice was hushed as he watched her reaching her peak and tried to kiss her softly through his mask. She felt his hips begin to stutter and began to plead once more.
“Please, I need to feel you”
A strangled sound left Attuma’s mouth, as he roughly slammed up into her hard one final time the loud squelching music to his ears as she continued to bounce softly in his lap while the steady rhythm of his thrusts began to dissolve into a desperate frenzy, moaning huskily as he filled her with his thick hot cum.
As they both came down from their highs she stayed in his lap gently rocking until she came to a full stop. Cum immediately started to seep from between them but before she could stand up to clean up, not that she thought she could at that moment, a blue hand came into her line of vision and pulled her face to his as he kissed her lazily for a moment before pulling away.
It’s then that she noticed that in the heat of it all, he ripped his mask away, drenching them both in seawater and sweat.
“Bèet ìfè mi, again,” she said her voice barely above a whisper as he leaned down to kiss her once more lifting her up to set her back on the examination table.

Yaakunaj yéetel k'atun (Love and War)- Attuma x Talokanil!Reader
Warnings: Graphic Violence (in the context of war), Predator/Prey Dynamic, Breathplay, Teasing, etc.
Author's Note: Sorry for not writing for so long. Life has been so busy but I promise I'll write more often (gonna open requests soon w/ conditions). Also, who knew the use of the word 'fledgling' could be so erotic? Enjoy!
After finding yet another vibranium detector near Talokan, Namor had ordered his best soldiers to eliminate the source--the CIA mining ship. Once again, he felt like his people were at risk. You were sworn to protect the underground kingdom with your life, and Attuma did as well.
After killing a dozen agents, you surveyed the ongoing carnage from the bridge of the ship. Even with a loaded arsenal, they were no match for you all. Some were drowned. Some were bludgeoned to death. Some were impaled with spears with the precious metal they sought. You caught Attuma decapitating one of the captains who shot him. He then threw the mutilated body over the railing, landing in the ocean below. Holding up the severed head as a trophy, he let out a primal scream to alert the remaining agents of his presence & tell his soldiers to continue the fight. You felt waves of heat pulsate through your body. You had been to many battles with him, but your metaphorical cup of ardor had finally spilled.
This was insanely dangerous, but you wanted his attention. Taking a stray magazine of bullets, you threw it down to him. It clanked loudly against the railing, making up snap his head in your direction. You saw him leap onto the bridge's landing, taking your bait. You sprinted toward the entrance of the heliport and ducked in the shadows. You weren't nearly as elusive as you thought, however. Attuma stared up at you from the stairwell, listening to your racing heartbeat. You stared at the water ahead waiting for him to emerge. Creeping forward, you slid through the railing and headed down the stairs. Suddenly, Attuma snatched you toward him & put his hand around your throat.
"Je'el kíinsa'al a tu'ux yanikech parado/I could kill you where you stand." He hissed in your ear. Your back was flush against his torso. Attuma was furious at your insolence, but undercurrents of intrigue were present. You nearly compromising the mission just to rile him up was unusual to him--or at least he thought. He saw how you would push yourself beyond for his praises or the longing glances you gave him during training. It was clear that his obliviousness was there to maintain the sanctity of battle—not because those feelings weren’t mutual. In just a few swift movements, Attuma had removed all of your gear & undergarments. He admired your figure with hungry eyes. The ocean’s breeze was brisk against your bare skin. You felt his hands move to your hips, squeezing the plush flesh there.
“Ts'a a wóoli' Ma'ili' ti' u k yilo'ob, tuláakal/Hurry before we’re seen, general…” You warned, staring back with desperation. “Bix a k'áat, emplumando/As you wish, fledgling.” He purred. You gasped loudly as he hastily slid into you. He held you still to help you acclimate. The tip of his manhood nearly kissed your cervix. You whimpered at the sensation and held on to the nearby railing. Thrusting slowly, Attuma’s eyes fluttered shut & you heard low grunts emitting from him. It had been so long since he had done this & now that it happened so suddenly, he nearly unraveled. Noticing his reactions, you started to move your hips back to meet his movements. He tightened his grip around your hips. You felt your arousal drip down your thigh. The thought of him filling you with his seed was intoxicating—and you wanted to experience it as soon as possible.
“Paakat in, tuláakal/Look at me, general.” You hummed, seeing his eyes snap open. In this moment, the ongoing war meant absolutely nothing to him. Screwing a promising warrior was a priority. Seeing you like this was a sight to behold. A thin layer of sweat formed over your skin, giving you a dewy glow. Attuma removed your respirator & took a handful of your hair. Suddenly, he thrusted into you with brutal force. You cried out for mercy, but he ignored your pleas. The sound of skin hitting skin filled the ship’s stairwell. Instead of reaching a long-awaited climax, you cycled through countless highs until your legs went numb. The lack of oxygen in your body added to the disorienting pleasure.
His groans turned to animalistic growls. He loved pushing you beyond your limits. He ached for a sweet release and was willing to get it any way possible. Finally, his seed shot into you with hot spurts while he let out yet another primal cry. This one wasn’t as angry, however. Notes of his real voice seeped through, signaling delectation. You felt him throb & twitch as his peak subsided. He left a series of fervid kisses along your neck & shoulder. “Serás juntúul nuxi' guerrero/You will make a great warrior.” He whispered into your ear.

Namora x wife!reader𓆝♡🌊
you and namora got married a little while ago, you a person from the surface who had many important things on the surface, and she someone from the bottom of the sea, an entire kingdom that she fought to protect.
an unlikely couple isn't it? everyone thought it wouldn't last the two of you, but here you are, fixing up the house you and she were to share.
you came up with the idea of going to live near the beach, a house that would be yours and hers. of course, K'uk'ulkan didn't like the idea at first due to the hatred on the surface, but seeing the happiness of someone important to him together with someone else, he let namora visit you and help you with the move, of course with very careful for no other surface to see next to you.
second day of moving, you were taking the boxes in, unfortunately namora weren't there.
right on the day the heavy boxes arrived.
you were angry and sad, she had promised that she would help you today. you didn't have half her strength, compared to her you were minuscule in the sense of strength.
with your thoughts of how you'd be ignoring her for the rest of the day when she arrived you didn't even hear her come in through the bedroom balcony.
you screamed when you felt someone hug you from behind, you looked and were relieved to see namora there.
Ba'ax a necesitado bejla'e'.
(Are you needy now?)
you said as you let go of her and she was confused by your reaction.
"Ba'ax a k'áat a wa'al."
(what you mean?)
you ignored what she said and went back to picking up the boxes and getting tired of so much weight you were carrying, you felt the weight leave your arms and see namora holding the box and putting it in your room.
"Cha' in beetik".
(Let me do it.)
she said as she picked up more boxes.
5»No, meetej. Ts'o'ok u meentik."
(No, I do. I was already doing it!)
you said as you tried to pick up another box but failed as your body ached.
"Kulen!"
(Go sit!)
Namora said and helped you to go to the sofa in the living room and make you sit there.
you watched her carry the boxes with ease.
after a while you went to get up to make some coffee, but then you felt namora pull you by the waist and make you go back to the sofa, you grumbled and crossed your arms in defeat.
you watched her make something in the kitchen and come back to the living room with a bowl of cut fruit.
"janal"
(Eat.)
you took a piece of the fruit and ate it.
a silence remained between you two.
".. Ma' taak ka'ach in meentik a luchar utia'al u bisik le cajas, u juro, yaabilmech taal ka'ache' utia'al a wáantik. Ba'ale' Yanchaj jump'éel káajal imprevisto. Ka wu'uyik".
(I.. didn't want to make you struggle carrying the boxes, I swear, I wanted to come earlier to help you.. but there was an unforeseen event.. I'm sorry.)
you looked at her and looked at what she was wearing, she wasn't wearing the clothes you were used to seeing, today she was wearing an orange dress that went down to her feet.
"Ma'alo'ob"
"It's fine."
you said as you finished eating the fruits.
Namora sat next to you and made you lay your head in her lap.
she started stroking you cheek and then stroking your hair.

Y/n pov:
I was in shuri's lab helping her make parts for T'challa's new suit when she called me over to her. "Y/n come here please" she said. "Yes princess" I said laughing. She hated when I called her that considering I was her bestfriend. "Bast y/n please stop with the formalities I beg of you" she said sighing playfully. We both laughed and sat down. "Your help is needed in jabariland. They are having trouble with their trading system and are in need of a Trade manager." Shuri said. "What will the job consist of?" I asked nervously. I didn't like talking in front of people or presenting things. I was very shy and quiet. "Nothing much all you have to do is help the Jabari tribe manage their trading business with the merchant tribe" shuri said. "Oh ok. That doesn't seem too hard" I said taking a breath of relief. "Very well your flight leaves tomorrow. Here are your communication devices in case you need me for anything." Shuri said handing me a kimoyo bead bracelet. "Thank you so much shuri." I said pulling her into a hug. We parted ways and prepared for my departure. The next morning I packed my suit cases and waited outside with shuri. Today was also the day T'challa returned home from his mission with Nakia. Suddenly, I felt a big blast of air wash over me. I looked up and noticed the royal talon fighter landing. The king-to-be and nakia stepped out of the aircraft. Shortly after, the dora Milagé came to take nakia and prepare her for the upcoming ceremony. "So suprised my sisters both came to see me before our big day" tchalla said smiling at us. I wasn't his real sister but tchalla always treated me like family. Every since me and shuri became besties at 7 years old he's always referred to me as his sister. "You wish, Im here for the emp beads I've developed an update. I'm also here to see y/n off for her departure" shuri said smartly. "Update? But it works perfectly" tchalla replied. "How many times do i have to teach you, just because something works doesn't mean that it cannot be improved." Shuri said to tchalla. "You are teaching me? What do you know?" Tchalla said as he handed the kimoyo beads to shuri. "More than you." She said while walking off to the royal talon. "I can't wait to see what kind of update you make to your ceremonial outfit" tchalla said. shuri flipped him off as she walked away to take me to the royal talon. "Shuri!" Queen Ramonda said. "Sorry mother" shuri said quickly putting her middle finger down. Shuri walked with me to the royal talon. Okoye was going to be taking me to Jabariland. "If you need anything use your kimoyo beads to contact me" shuri said pulling me into a hug. "I will. See you later shuri" I said getting into the aircraft. Shuri waved to me as the royal talon took off into the air.
*timeskip*
"Y/n we are here." Okoye said. As we landed in Jabariland, I grabbed my suitcases and prepared to go to my chamber where I'd be staying (imagine a big room but with fur couches/ furniture and big windows). "Y/n Mbaku wishes to speak with you" Kuba said leading me to him. *what could he possibly want? it is 12:00am* I thought. Kuba led me to M'baku's room. I was greeted by two female guards with both of them standing at each side of the door. "Ulapha ukuza kubona inkokeli yesizwe" (she's here to see the tribe leader) Kuba spoke in Xhosa. The two guards nodded and motioned for me to walk into the room. "Welcome to Jabariland" Mbaku said with a deep, raspy voice. He was very sleepy considering it was now 12:15am. "Thanks for the welcome" I said smiling. "I have some things I wanted to give you" Mbaku replied reaching into his closet. As he looked through the items, my eyes scanned his body. He was very tall with curly black hair, had strong muscles, and thick thighs. I find him very attractive. I was knocked out of my daydreaming by a hand waving in my face. "Hellooo y/n you there?" Mbaku asked. "Yes I'm sorry I was daydreaming." Mbaku chuckled at my slightly embarrassed face. "Here are some of the things you may need for your stay here." He said. I was given a warm blanket, documents for managing the trading business, and also a brand new wooden spear. "What's the spear for?" I asked. *i thought only warriors get those* "you are new to jabariland. It would be rude if I didn't give you anything to protect yourself now wouldn't I?" Mbaku replied. *he does have a point.* I thought. "Thank you for the gifts" I said smiling happily. "No problem nkosazana ." Mbaku said smiling happily at me.
*time skip*
As I prepared for bed, the events of the day flooded my mind and a particular word came to me. *Nkosazana I wonder what that means* I thought. I tried to go to sleep but the word kept ringing in my brain. I thought of an idea and quickly grabbed my kimoyo beads that shuri gave me. *it has an automated ai voice system that can answer any question I have. Almost like the internet but better* "Griot" I spoke into the bracelet. "Yes y/n. What May I help you with?" Griot the ai voice said. "Transalate the word Nkosazana into English and tell me the language." I replied. "The word Nkosazana means "princess" in English and comes from the Xhosa language." Griot spoke. "Thank you Griot" I said.
*princess. He called me princess* i thought.

ATTOYE HC
Okoye and Attuma had an intense one night stand that they agreed to never acknowledge again. Until Okoye falls pregnant.
This fic would be AU in that they meet without the war but they’re not exactly close.
Attuma comes top side from time to time with Namor when he had meetings, but it wasn’t consistent.
At a celebration Okoye and Attuma get drunk and do the do.
Okoye finds out she’s pregnant but decides to keep it to herself. She has no idea how it will affect her child’s DNA, but she didn’t want to broadcast it to anyone. Only Shuri was aware of the child’s true paternity just so she can run tests and provide some answers.
Attuma has not really been top side in the last few months so Okoye figured it will be simple to keep it from him. It was a one time thing and he didn’t ask to be tied down to a surface dweller despite them being allies.
But all that goes to shit when she bumps into Namora one day and Namora looks at her curiously. She began sniffing the air around Okoye until she seemed to figured out what it is she smelled. Her eyes widened as Okoye looked at her apprehensively.
“You’re pregnant?” Namora asks with force.
For the first time in a while Okoye is speechless and just gapes like a fish.
That seems to be enough confirmation for Namora because she moves on and says, “Attuma is the sire.” And only Okoye’s extensive training stops her from fainting on the spot.
Okoye never accounted for the Talokan enhanced abilities…
Can you imagine ????? LOL
#attoye#accidental pregnancy is always a fun trope#can just imagine these 2 idiots trying not to kill each other while navigating a pregnancy#hormonal okoye can’t be fun#okoye#attuma#okoye x attuma#attuma x okoye#wakanda forever#black panther#otp: the huntress and the shark#black panther 2

Misfits Chap. 1
Namora x black!mutant!fem!punk!reader
summary: after living for more than 100 years, you decided to fuck around and make a metal detector for money-that happened to detect vibranium as well
warnings: swearing, mentions of sex, mention of overdose, drugs, alcohol, death, graphic violence, smut (eventually), to much of the word "you"
the reader doesn't HAVE to be black but it's my fanfic so i get to do whatever i want
abilities: stamina, durability, agility, regeneration of wounds, strength, can breath underwater
You were born a long time ago, and by long I mean LONG, time ago. you had a fine childhood with loving parents, you would do mostly anything they had asked.
But you did get into a little trouble now and again (now and again meaning most times).
You were always defiant, you couldn't be told what you should and shouldn't do because you would always question it. When people in your mothers circle tried to talk bad about you, saying how you would end up on the streets or in a boarding school if you were their child, your parents would always defend you.
even when you didn't deserve it.
Your powers appeared when you were 11, slipped off a roof while spray painting and banged your head really bad, leaving a big bump and some blood. While it hurt, you healed in about an hour or 2. "Cool" you thought and never brung it up to anyone.
Stopped aging at around 20, you were overjoyed at the fact that you could stay "forever young", be wild and not get judged for it, but then reality started to dig its fingers into you when everyone loved died,
your mother was the last to go, officially leaving you with nobody and nothing. you mourned. ALOT, but realized that someway somehow you were given the gift of a long life and you shouldn't spend half of it being a depressed, lonely bitch.
That's when the frequent parties started.
You went to every exciting party that you could find. you were drunk and hungover at the same time which you didn't think was possible but it still happened. made a lot of life long and short term friends. You did every drug imaginable because due to your powers you actually thought you were immortal
but when you od'ed you backed off and stayed sober.
(had a lot of sex with men and woman)
you met every big celebrity of the decade, some were nice, some you got into fights with (most you won) Many people fell in love with you, but after the fourth person you realized they only loved you for how "wild" and "exciting" you were, they didn't like you for you.
You also took up some mma classes because you never know when you need to beat someone up.
You thought that life could never get better until you went to a short trip to England in the late 70s that would change you life philosophy forever.
Punk rock. it was like the answer you were looking for all your life, people who acted like you and dressed like you. Nancy spungen was the first friend you made in the scene, many people hated her but she was your friend. you were so close with her, that after she died you packed your bags and moved back to the u.s.
You spent the rest of the pre 2010's traveling and learning different languages, Yacutec Mayan included. Your healing abilities got better and you can now heal as fast as 9 seconds. In 2011, you finally decided to settle in Cambridge, mass.
.....
It's may of 2024. you wake up In the middle of the night due to a phone call. You live comfortably as a computer hacker and engineer, your main clients are college students who are late on assignments and lazy business men who were trust fund babies. you lived In an mediorce/could have been better apartment.
You answer the phone. "Hello?-" "I need you to do something for me, I'm outside." "I'm sorry but you need to call back to-" It ends. You, out of annoyace and slight curiosity, you grab a sweater and head to the door. you open it to see a pale, tall man with a black-slick suit on and a straight face.
He has a badge of some organization on the left side of his chest, and a shape of a gun in his pocket to the right.
The room fills with a cool breeze and a little bit of fear. "Can I help you?" you say. "I need a metal detector."
"Well i don't really have them on hand-" "I can wait.'' He lets him into your apartment, gets a chair and sits down with his legs and arms crossed. The right side of your brain wanted to start an argument with him but your left and gut feeling unanimously agreed to just do what he says so he won't like, send people after you.
You walk to your bedroom to get all your supplies while staring at the man to make sure he doesn't do anything.
You come back and with the supplies and the man is still there, staring at you intensely as you walk into the room. you clear the table he sits at and grabs another chair and you try to get to work but you notice the man is still staring at you and now your supplies.
"You know this is gonna take forever, right??" "Well it won'tbe a waste" he pats his wallet. Awkward silence occurs soon there after
"Do you want anything to eat??'' He doesn't respond. "note taken" you turn back to your work.
..
You worked well into the night, slight fear of what would happen if you stopped, which was a first. You Finally finished it at 6:32 am, yawning as you give it to him. He puts it down and gets out a slick black briefcase, unlocks the buckles, and opens it. His closes his eyes and blinks multiple times to adjust to the purple light shining on his face.
He brings out this bright purple leaf-like object and puts it on the table. he takes the detector and puts it right over it, he turns it on. It almost immediately beeps, detecting the strange thing. The pale man perks up his lips, almost creating a smile across his face but it quickly turns straight. "Thank you again" He says blankly as he brings out his wallet and gives you 12k.
He picks up his things along with the detector and leaves, the door closing softly. Normally this wouldn't faze you, you've been in room with the most infamous mob bosses, stranger things have happened in your life for sure but, this time you can't shake the feeling that something's gonna happen, something bad.
..........................
A week later you almost shaked the feeling off completely. You paid your rent for 2 months, went shopping, and bought a new guitar. You usually make your own clothes but this time you wanted to prolong the happiness.
While you were getting ready to go out, a feeling of anxiety fell over you- that you were in danger?
You took a gun and a knife just in case.
Late at night, While driving across a bridge to get gas. your tires suddenly gave out and deflated. You got out of the car to check out the problem. You opened the back of your car to get out an air pump when you heard a faint voice start to sing.
It didn't faze you at first but then you heard another, than another, than another, it grew louder and louder. folklore was passed from your extended family on to you about "mami wata" and sirens.
Of course you didn't believe it at first but when you grew older always had a pair of ear plugs on you just in case so you put them on just in time so the eerily mesmerizing voices didn't consume you.
All of a sudden a 2 ginormous humpback whales comes out of the water and on to the bridge, crushing your car and in a matter of seconds you didn't jump and roll just in time. Still feeling the shock waves of the whales, You turn back to look at the anomaly and 4 blue people jump off of them.
One woman had orange and white feathers on the top of her head and a big tall man with long hair and 2 others that weren't that memorable to the eye.
The outfits were gorgeous don't get me wrong but confusion is what you felt the most. The sirens of the emergency vehicle show up before the car itself and it crashes into the whale. The blue people look back at the car and the woman says something.
"Deshazte u Jmeyaj metalúrgico, ocuparé ti' le testigos (get rid of the metal worker, i'll deal with the witnesses.)" You try to decipher what she said In your brain but you soon realize as the other 3 are walking towards you menacingly.
You grab your gun and knife. The other two blue warriors Jump at you, using their spears to try to impale you. They stab your arm and leg but due to your powers, you healed quickly and it didn't affect you that much.
The two weapons you got were much to no use. You used your gun to shoot all three of them but it got cut in half, knife got knocked out of the fight as quickly as possible
But it was close.
You overhanded the one closest to you and roundhouse kicked the other, but they still kept getting up. Getting annoyed, you grabbed one of their spears and hit them in the head with it as hard as you could, knocking them dead with blood trickling out of their ear- creating a puddle.
While you were turned, the other one hits you with their heavy metal spear right on your upper spine. You wince in pain, the warrior raises up their spear to put an end to you but you grab the end of the metal and use it as a support beam to launch both of your feet at them for maximum impact.
(You were wearing platform boots too, so that must've hurt.)
The warrior falls back a couple inches, You felt immense pain but you scrambled to find anything because you knew the warrior wasn't gonna stay down for long. In the darkness you try to feel anything with a sharp edge for good use in the fight.
You felt the knife that was thrown earlier. You grab it and turn around to find that the spear was at your neck, seconds away from penetrating. You try every way to get out but to no avail. You looked down in saddened realization. "this is it" You thought. But then you quickly remembered
Your other hand was free.
You drop the knife into your other hand and before the warrior could react, plunged it deep into their stomach. The warrior made a sound of shock. You dragged it across the right side of their stomach until the knife came back out, feeling some of their organs in the process.
the warrior falls back and stops moving, their spear now in your hand. The man with long hair looks at the scene, just analyzing it and looking at you. "Xeen a wil ba'ax táan u beetik namora, ocuparé u este (Go see what namora's doing, i'll deal with this one)"
Both of their eyes open at the same time- Organs and bones slid back into place and flickers of life came into them, It was like Frankenstein's monster coming back from the dead.
"No. way," you said quietly in disbelief as they ran off to go catch up with namora. "No fucking way!!" you said louder as you spin your new found spear, and the fight between you and the big man co menses.
You held your ground at first, riding off the adrenaline from the other two you just “killed’’. but sooner or later the fight started to work out more and more in his favor. He was taller, more skilled, and a just a tiny bit stronger than you.
Luckily your stamina came into play because if you had gotten the-least bit tried you would have met your ancestors in the most gursome way. One point he had you by the throat up against the ground. during the struggle he kicked the spear you were using just right out of your reach.
You kicked him in the Achillies heel, nuts and used both of your legs to put him in a chokehold, knocking off his headwear. Now with him focused on the fact that he has a full grown adult on his head and that he couldn't see anything but your stomach,
You have the time to back flip off of him, use one of the spears and hit him across the face, leaving a long scar. He touches the scar- seeing the blood and wipes it away with his other finger to confirm what just happened, surprised about how somebody was of his caliber, but some weird feeling of-- respect.
"Ba'ax láayli' ma' a kiinsik u Jmeyaj metalúrgico.! [You still haven't killed the metal worker?!,]" The woman comes aggressively walking toward the both of you with the others following behind. "Tu yaan in meentik Teene' wéet túun! (I'll do it myself then!)
"Pa'atik! (Wait!)" You said and she stops and the both of them look at you. "In wojel ba'ax K'a'abet k yantalto'on kajak yéetel k'aas wa'atal, chéen ba'ale' kolnáalen bey Teeche' (I know we got off on wrong footing but I'm just like you,)"
You look for other words to say since you haven't spoken for a long while. "Je'el u páajtal in wáantikech! (I can help you!). The man laughs,
"Bixi?! (How?!)" You look for anything that could help you- then you remember your healing abilities. "Paakat (look)" You raise up the spear carefully, looking at the both of them so they don't think your being aggressive, you put the spear right above your wrist and cut yourself all the way to your shoulder.
It quickly healed. They had a straight face so you couldn't read their emotions but they all looked at each other- they finally made their decision.
"Taj ma'alo'ob (very well)" The woman takes out a green fish net bag, gets a weird story of device that looked like a can and handed it to the tall man. He cracked it open and rolled it to your feet.
2 seconds later it started to make sound, purple smoke started to come out of it. You started to feel a tingling sense in your lungs and started coughing, dizziness and nausea started to overcome you, now the tingling started to feel. Like. Burning.
The violet smoke was to overwhelming for you, you fell to the ground, last thing you saw was the woman's feathers on her head poking out before you passed out.

Attuma marvel x black reader where they are on a beach date and they sees children playing in the distances. Attuma wants to marry the reader and having children so he pops the question in his way in the cuties way with seashells and it’s so all adorable and the reader says yes.
This is so fuxking cute
And he would do this too 😭
It’d take him a month or two to actually work up the nerve to ask (let’s face it he had to ask Namora for ideas)
But when he does he arranges a wide ass variety of shells and gems he’s collected from the bottom of the ocean. Some in his favorite colors but most of them in yours.
When he does ask you you’re on a beautiful beach, somewhere down in Sarteneja (that’s the closest he could bring you to his home without you wearing one of those suits Shuri built) but he never tells you what he brought you down there for.
He has you walk the beach, his orca playfully leaping in the background to your awe. You’re so in awe in fact that you completely miss the ‘Marry me?’ He meticulously spelled out in Mayan (he’s been teaching it to you for some time) and it gets washed away by the incoming tide.
He tries to save it but only manages to grab a hand full of small shells for you. He’s upset, you’re upset cuz he’s upset and won’t tell you why, when all of a sudden Namora’s orca shows up. It beaches itself like Orca’s do and opens it mouth to reveal a single pretty pink conch shell.
Seated inside it you find a ring with a bright pale blue aquamarine stone and a pearl in the middle. Attuma comes up to you looking nervous and still defeated but kneels in front of you any ways.
“A k'at a ts'o'ok a bel tin weetel?” He asks looking a little more confident in himself.
After all this time together he still refused to speak any other language but his own even though you know he could.
You roll your eyes with a smirk, kneeling down to his level you grab his face and kiss him all over before ending with a kiss on his breathing mask, right where his lips were.
“Ba'axten supuesto in yaakunaj.”

Can you please do an sfw where Attuma just claims the reader as his. One day he just throws her over his shoulder. No explanation, no courting just him going " Yes lord that one right there." And the reader just accepts it because she's always liked him.
His Betrothed- Attuma x Reader ⚭
Author’s Note: Do I belong to Attuma? If he snatches me up, I'm his. Believe it or not, I like doing fluff too. Enjoy, anon! 😘
You always had feelings for Attuma, but your life was turned upside down this day--you were randomly summoned to his quarters. His advisors brought you there with little resistance. When you walked in, he greeted you with a gentle kiss on your hand. What a gentleman.
"We have to prepare for our wedding. Bey in prometida, yaan a yaantal protegida/As my betrothed, you have to be protected. That's why I brought you here." He beamed, looking into your eyes & stroking your hand with his thumb. You felt his shark tooth bracelet scrape against your wrist.
You felt your heart palpitate. All you could do was stare back at him, doe-eyed. Truthfully, you didn't mind the idea of marrying one of the deadliest warriors in Talokan. Now that the opportunity was in front of you, you were at a loss for words. You decided to take charge. Standing on your toes, you kissed him gently to test the waters. He embraced you as you always belonged to him. His lips were soft & he smelled of sandalwood oil. You never felt so secure in someone's arms.
"Bey u prometida, ba'ax ma' K'abéet k consumar k unión?/As your betrothed, don't we need to consummate our union?" You cooed.
He threw you over his shoulder and walked you to his bedroom. You were thrilled when you thought of spending the rest of your life with Attuma.
